Hello readers, I've been a fan of Jurassic Park for some time mostly Michael Criton Book's as they are much darker compared to the films, reread them during Covid Lockdown then came across Camp Cretaceous one day, it was a great way to pass the time, and now with Chaos Theory season 2 out now and after watching all of it…. 0_0
Just a heads up this is going to be a wee bit more mature in regards to swearing, violence and gore, seeing how some scenes in the show they should have been more injuries to say the less, but with it being aimed for kids there are limitations. And I'll put a warning for those moments, especially in the later seasons.

A Fighter to the End
Chapter 1 - Welcome to Camp
In a gym in Ireland, a young teen girl is beating the ever-living shit out of a punching bag while listening to music on her earbuds, sweat drips from her short black hair down her temple and down her shaved neck as she take a moment to catch her breath, rubbing the sweat away from the bruise under her left eye with her forearm before carrying on punching and adding a few kicks here and there.
"Hey Champ!" someone taps her on the shoulder, she turns around, throwing a left hook at the person's face but managed to dodged just in time, only for her fist to hit his glasses, knocking them off and fell to the floor.
"Jesus Mark!" the girl sighed loudly; she takes out her headphones. "You need to stop doing that or I will end up clocking ya one day."
The girl is two heads taller than the short heavy man; she walks away from the punching bag and towards the bench grabbing her water bottle taking a drink.
"Sorry but this is important that it could not wait."
"What is it?" she asked clearly annoyed for her 'in a zone' got interrupted, turning to grab her towel on the bench clearing the sweat off her face and neck.
"Well, I just got off the phone from Mr Masrani an-"
"No."
"No? Hang on I've not even explained why-"
"I'm not doing anything that guy wants me to do, you know how I feel about that Dino science crap," she stated throwing the towel back on the bench and starts to pack her stuff in her gym bag.
"Yes I know," Mark says. "But hear this, Masrani has a gym at the Jurassic World Resort, and he wants to sponsor you."
"If he wants me to be some poster girl he can feck off," she hissed, unwrapping her hand wraps.
"No none of that it's even better, he wants you to attend this summer camp addition to the park for kids it's called Camp Cretaceous for two weeks."
"Camp Cretaceous?" she scoffed. "Do I look like a 7-year-old?"
"Masrani informed me that they'll be a few others their too, some VIP's, another sponsors and a Winner that beat their Dino game, didn't get the names, but they are around you're age."
"Then let me repeat what I said before," she starts to leave. "No."
"Masrani also said that if you accept the offer he has made to donate to your chosen charity."
That stopped her, turns around to face him with a glare that says 'you better not be joking or I'll hurt you' look, there have been a few times in the past that he didn't tell her things that would piss her off, so she is not going to take his word for it… yet.
"Here is the offer," he shows her the note, she takes the paper, and her eyes widen at what she read.
"Okay either you forgot the decimal point, or he is doing something illegal to get that kind of money," she says throwing the note back at him.
"I know and he'll give you half of it now and the rest after the two weeks at camp, just think of it for a moment, your goal well be completed."
She is, that kind of money will get what she has been aiming for, ever since she started this career, but she despised Masurai and Dr Wu, and if she is not the only one going too, then some spoiled rich brats will just annoy the hell out of her, and if one pisses off then she is not going to be held responsible for her actions. However the charity that she has been supporting for years needs that money.
"I can't believe I'm gonna," she mumbled, rubbing her hand over her eyes, her left one twitch due to her bruise but made no sound, the pain was nothing. "Fine I'll go, but no more than two weeks or I'm swimming back home. And if they ask again in the future, it never happens again. Got it."
"Grand! I call them now, you won't regret it Aithne," he says, heading to the exit.
"I'm starting to regret it now," she called out to him before the door closed behind him.
Within a week her plane tickets were sorted out, spending the last days with her family, Aithne headed for the airport, her dad parks the car and walks her inside the Airport entrance, while carrying her duffle-bag, she didn't bother with a suitcase, the only things she needed was several crop tops, loose thin checkered long sleeve shirts, sun worn jeans, gym outfit, just because she is going to this 'trip' she was not going to slack off, and a swimsuit because you never know, as well as toilettes.
"You got everything?" Tom asked, placing the bag down on the floor.
"Last time you asked yes I've got everything," she replied pulling her crossbody bag to show her tickets and passport, then zipping up closed again.
"You know you don't have to do this," he says, his expression softens.
"Da," Aithne sighed. "This is to help out the charity and the village hospital, that money will do something good instead of being wasted by rich snobs, it'll be two weeks I'll be home after that."
"Okay if you're sure," he asked.
"Yeah Da, I'm sure."
"You're Ma would be proud of you," he takes out a paperback book from a plastic bag. "Here for the trip," he hands her the book. "I know you don't want to use the original book, but it's still has the same words and all."
"Thanks Da," she says as she hugs him, he hugs his daughter placing his chin on top of her head, something he has done for as long as she could remember.
"You're welcome," they break the hug. "Try and ring us when you can, and try a make friends."
"I'm only there for two weeks," she playfully scoffed, putting the book in her crossbody bag. "I doubt that'll be enough time for real friendships."
"You be surprised," he says handing her duffel bag. "And eh if you see a T-Rex, run like hell."
"Very funny Da," she replied, taking the bag with one hand and heads to the check in booth to put the said bag weight etc.
Once confirming the tickets she heads up the customs, not before she turns to spot her father, he waves then lowed the raised hand to tap his chest where his heart is, she waves back and does the same thing, another thing the two have done she started primary school, this was going to be a long, long trip.
During one of the longest flights of her life, Aithne had read half the book her dad gave her, but mostly listened to music on her iPod while trying to have some sleep, but she was never one to fall completely asleep on Airplanes she never could. When she landed in Coast Rica, getting out of the airport to find a car waiting for her to take her to the docks, in the car ride she was able to text her Dad saying she was fine and will keep him updated soon before her phone was confiscated for what every reason. Once on the boat it was going to take another 6 hours to finally get to the island, she realized that the other 'campers' have been resting in their cabins no doubt recovering from their flights depending on how far they travelled, she took that moment to walk around the deck of the ship, getting in some fresh air into her lungs, recalling the many times she would spend time on her Uncle's fishing boat, playing with her younger twin Brothers and cousins years ago.
Before she knew it they soon docked at Isla Nubla, Aithne grabbed her duffel bag after making sure she had everything to leave the cabin, once out on the deck she realised she was the last to leave, when heading down to the small group of teens, now knowing that Mark was right about the age group, most of them did look about a year or two younger than her at least. The other campers are of three girls and two boys, the second boy was vomiting on the side of the dock, clearly not having sea legs, while the rest of the group where standing in front of a staff member wearing a yellow bandana around his forehead starts talking to them.
"Welcome to Isla Nublar Campers," he announced, as Aithne stands next to a brunette hair girl wearing a grey active tracksuit. "You are the selected few, the first out of the entire would ever experience the awesomeness that is Camp Cretaceous. Now I know that the ferry ride was rough on some of you, hello Ben."
Aithne looks back at Ben, gave a small thumbs up to the adult before turning back to vomit again.
"Poor lad," Aithne thought.
"But you made it," he said enthusiastically, "I am Dave, head counsellor, that's right, you heard me correctly, head honcho, big shot."
The sound of a moving vehicle came towards them, they turned around, to see the jeep park and a woman popped out of the driver seat.
"Ah sorry I'm late, welcome campers," she said, "I'm Roxie, head counsellor of Camp Cretaceous."
"Head honcho my arse," Aithne muttered under her breath.
The girl wearing a black leather jacket giggled.
"Now some of you won competitions to be here," Dave says. "Others got VIP invites, but for the next two weeks all of you will be getting the five-star treatment."
While Dave explained, the girl in pink was filming on her phone, when she pointed the camera at her and the brunette, Aithne gave her annoyed look while the brunette walked away, her hand coving her face from the camera, Pinky then filmed the other three that have no problem with it.
"Here we've lined up some bonus behind the scenes action of Jurassic World," Roxie continued. "As well rock climbing, kayaking, ziplining, obstacle courses and of course-"
"Dinosaurs?!" the boy wearing a yellow coat excitedly says, judging by the dino fang necklace he likes Dinosaurs, well more then Aithne who does not give a rats ass.
"Yes," Roxie replied, then looks at her clip broad. "Daruis, plenty of Dinosaurs, so ready for an adventure."
"Absolutely," the girl in pink says. "But I'm gonna need that speech just a little shorter and really try to lean into the majesty of this place."
Aithne rolled her eyes, there just had to be a Youtuber, if Pinky is going to keep filming throughout the two weeks, Aithne is not going to be happy.
"Okay, we're going now," said Dave, ignoring Pinky's request. "Let's get you seven to camp."
"Uh, there are six of us," Ben mentioned.
Dave starts to head count.
"Wait, Dino-Kid, Track-Star, Fisticuffs, Internet Girl, Barfy, Texas, he's right, where's Seven?"
Aithne raised her eyebrow at the Nicknames Dave so gracility gave them, obviously hers was not hard to pick, 'Fisticuffs' well at least he didn't give her a Irish stereotype nickname like her rivals would do. Texas had to be the girl who giggled, so 'Track Star' was the only girl left, she did notice that her outfit is sporty but just was not sure what type of sport she did, but after hearing the nickname she can now see the runner traits. And Ben just has the worse luck, throwing up on the first impression and your stuck with a reminder for a nickname. Her train of thought was cut off by the sound of a chopper coming to land, she didn't need to guess that the seventh camper was a rich kid. Just prefect said no one, the chopper door is opened by the pilot and a boy around her age steps out.
"Greeting my dudes," he acknowledged. "Kenji is here so let the party commence."
"Oh god no," Aithne thought.
He throws his bag at Roxie who catches it with both arms.
"Put this in my room will you? So what's you're deal?"
His bag was thrown back at him, but he was too focus with Daruis to not see it coming and ended up on the ground, Aithne smirked at Roxie's action, she was liking her more than Dave, definitely the Counsellor.
"OK let's go," Roxie says dusting her hands after getting rid of the bag.
Being the closest to the Jeep, Aithne climb in with ease being 5'11, Track-Star jumps in from the side when Aithne takes her seat near the front unfortunately right next to Pinky when she put her seat belt on while the girl took a selfie, yep this is going to be a loooonnnnngggg two weeks, once everyone got to their seats, the jeep drove off, making those who were not buckled in to shriek from the sudden movement, so they put on their seatbelts quickly.
"I hope you got my mom's note," called out to Roxie. "I don't do well on windy roads."
Aithne was pretty sure Roxie and Dave did not hear Ben, she spotted Pinky about to start recording again so she looked anywhere but the inside of the truck and found the plant life more interesting.
"Ok," Pinky said turning her phone on to them. "I need you all say who you are and a little bit about yourself," thankfully she aims the camera at Daruis first. "And action!"
While Darius was talking, in the corner of Aithne's eye, Texas looked about ready to pop with excitement at Brooklynn.
"I'm sorry," Texas cut in. "I just can't believe, you're Brooklynn!" she reaches out grabbing Pinky's hand to hand shake it. "I'm Sammy Guiterrez, total Brooklander! Kapow!" while she imitates guns noises while her hands do the finger gun after letting go.
Aithne raised an eyebrow; she had no idea what the hell is going on.
"Oh! Also my family supplies all the beef for the park, and that's how I got here."
"Greet to me you Sammy," Brooklynn replied.
"Um, what's a Brooklander? Daruis asked.
"Oh that's just what my followers call themselves," Brooklynn responded.
"Uh, all 27 million of us," Sammy pointed out, doing the finger gun again.
"Yep," the brunette speak up for the first time, Aithne look towards her. "That's why she's the only one who gets to keep her cellphone. She's famous."
Aithne took note in the girl tone at the last sentence, something she too was annoyed with Brooklynn, and now knowing that she has her phone and only her just made things all the more reason to not like this place even more.
"Hold on," Kenji says. "Rich" he points to himself. "And famous?" then points at Pinky. "Oh meant to be," he takes her phone from her and takes a selfie of himself and Brooklynn.
Aithne cringed at that, not only was he bragging about his wealth, and now he is being a total ass too, what else could happen? The Jeep stopped suddenly, Aithne grabbed on to the metal bar behind her seat to sable herself, the brunette knocked into her, on instinct Aithne wrapped her free arm around the girl's shoulders. When the dust settled, Aithne looked up at the area wonder what caused them to stop, realising she still had her arm around the brunette she quickly lets go.
"Sorry," Aithne says to her.
"It's fine," she replied.
"Uh Dave what's going on?" Ben asked.
The teens unplug their seatbelts and stand up besides from Aithne to see Dave and Roxie leave the Jeep.
"Nothing you need to worry about," Dave tells him, he and Roxie pull out taser sticks. "But you should all definitely stay in your seats."
They watch the adults walk away from the dirt road into the jungle, apart from Ben who started to whimper, Aithne was starting to worry about the boy, she was going to over to him when she heard movement from the other side of the Jeep, and she was not the only one.
"Uh guys?" Daruis says, Aithne looks at where Daruis is looking at, noticing the bushes rustling. "Guys?"
Aithne slowly stands up, abruptly something screeched as it jumped out and headed at Daruis, acting quick she reaches out to grab the thing before it could get to its target, however that didn't stop Daruis from screaming causing the others to react the same, Dino-Kid lands on his back in the Jeep, Ben and Brooklynn jump out while Kenji, Sammy and Track-Star to jump up at the back window of the vehicle.
"Gotcha you little bugger," Aithne exclaimed, grabbing its head and tail.
It screeched more trying to get out of her grip while everyone else stared at her.
"Oh nice catch Aithne," Roxie exclaimed, as she and Dave hurried back from hearing the commotion.
Aithne steps over Daruis to exit the Jeep still holding the little Dinosaur now by the end of its tall hanging it underside at an arm's length not to risk getting bitten or scratched, Roxie brought out cat carrier from the back seat, opens it and Aithne put the dino in, quickly as Roxie closed the cage door.
"Crises averted," Roxie says. "These things are always getting out of their encloser."
"I wonder why?" Aithne muttered.
"Wow a real life Compsognathus," Darius says in awe.
"Oh please," Kenji says as he sits down. "It took a girl and a cat carrier to catch it, boring."
"At least I didn't scream like a girl," Aithne commented back while getting back in the Jeep, giving Kenji a glare for the 'girl' comment.
"Scarred you pretty good," Darius says other his should, then turned to Aithne. "That was so cool how you did catch it so fast?"
"Just a reaction I guess," Aithne replied.
"What to expect from the youngest three-time winning lightweight Mix Martial Artist in the world," Brooklynn says with her phone still out.
Aithne heard Kenji gulp at the title she has, suddenly regretting what he said only seconds ago.
"You are not still filming are you?" Aithne asked.
"Yeah why?"
"Didn't your parents ever tell ya to ask for consent before hand?" she said annoyed, tuning around to seat at the end next to Ben.
"It's what I do," Brooklynn replied, as if Aithne didn't understand her job. "Have you not seen me doing it from the start?"
"Not everyone wants to be filmed 24/7." Aithne scoffed.
"Aright everyone back in your seats," Roxie exclaimed, before Brooklynn could reply.
The others sit down, Brooklynn not happy with Aithne giving her a glare, while MMA Fighter took no knowledge of the vlogger, Aithne made her point, so it'll be up to Brooklynn what she does next. The jeep carries on driving down the dirt road, the teens go back to looking around the jungle until they spotted the gates to the park.
The drive was longer then Aithne thought, when they reach their destination the sun was around an hour away to turn the blue sky into shades of setting orange when they entered a redwood forest, trees where thick and close together, thinking it is to stop big Dinosaurs to get through which makes sense. The Jeep came to a slow stop, Aithne opens the back of the Jeep and jumps out, glad to stretch her legs, when she was wondering where the camp was, she looked up to see what to her looks like a Hotel more than a Campsite, this was not camp.
"Yasmina! Hey girl," Brooklynn calls out, Aithne looked other at the girls when she went to get her bag. "So as an elite athlete, how pumped are you for camp, Brooklynn."
"Not really a big fan of being on camera," Yasmina replied trying to get out of the shot. "Or people."
She runs off, Aithne frowned at Brooklynn she slammed the Jeep door shut the vehicle wobbled, she sling her bag over her shoulder and heads to the entrance of the 'Camp', Brooklynn was about to walk over, but the lass was not having it a scowled at her.
"Not a chance Pinky," she growled and walks away.
"Li'ten up," Dave called out. "Announcement time from your co-head counsellor."
"Okay everyone there some ground rules to cover," Roxie tells them. "Curfew's at 8pm, and lights out 9pm sharp."
Most of them complained, Aithne didn't say anything.
"This is for your own safety," Roxie continued. "We're in a dinosaur filled jungle, you must always keep your distance, or you could be seriously hurt, if not worse."
"Define 'worse'" Ben asked.
"Cabins are up that-a-way," Dave says pointing up.
Everyone else rushed inside expect Aithne walked in, not worried about claiming a top bunk, be the time she got up Sammy, Ben and Brooklynn where looking around, well Pinky was filming, again, seriously that girl is glued to her phone. Aithne heads to the girls dorm room, as she thought there are more bunk beds for the girls, and three top bucks have be claimed. Aithne heads for one of the lower bunks that had no claims on the top bed, placing her bag on the floor she starts to unpack it, taking out her nightwear, a black t-shirt, and baggy dark green three-quarter bottoms, then her toilette bag to put to one side near the bed noticing the bed has a long shelve near the window, and for now she takes out her books.
"Did you bring a library with you?" a female voice asked.
Aithne turned to the source, and it was Track-Star entering the dorm.
"I might have," Aithne joked, grabbing her fifth book, and placing them on the shelve. "I'm a fast reader," now sitting properly on the bed. "And I do read a chapter or two before I go to sleep."
"Fair enough," Track-Star replied.
"I'm Aithne O'Conner by the way," she introduced herself reaching a hand out to the brunette.
"Yasimana Fadoula," she replied, she shakes hand with her.
"Guys!" Sammy's voice came from the door, making them jump, unfortunately resulted Aithne to hit the crown of her head on the bed above her. "Roxie wants use to meet up to head to the watch tower come on."
Aithne gets off her bed while rubbing the small bump on her head with a grunt.
"You okay?" Yasmina asked.
"Yeah, I've been hit worse," Aithne replied.
When they made it to the top of a watchtower they witness a herd of mixed Dinosaurs marching by them, while the overs looked at them in awe, Aithne was not looking at their might but at what the cost of making them, thinking why she came to the island for, she has to do this, even if she doesn't like it.
"Enough banter," Dave says, "Its zip-line party time."
Aithne looked on where then end of the Zipline on the other side, pass the herd, Ben's bad luck seems to be at its peak of the day the poor lad was picked first on the zipline, Dave straps him to the seat.
"Me? Maybe Yasmina should go first or… Aithne or Darius? Uh or anyone else I really don't."
Dave gently pushed him down, Ben screamed halfway, then the other followed suit, Aithne being the last, on the way down a brachiosaurus was watching them zip away, it bellowed at them, a very small smile appeared on Aithne but that was short lived. When they returned back at camp, they had a bite to eat before curfew, Aithne had a good look around the place, in the living area was a table tennis which she made a note to have a go on it at some point, in other area there was a small gym which she was surprised after bring told there was once at the Resort in the Park, at least she could keep up with her training whilst she is here.
When Roxie and Dave called curfew they mentioned that they will be the staff cabin down the hall, so with that Aithne grabbed a glass of water from the Kitchen, another thing she was glad was there, headed to girls dorm, placing her drink on the shelve grabbed her toilette bag and night wear and headed to the bathroom, she changed and then brushed her teeth, afterwards she looked in the mirror near the sink, her bags under her eyes showing more, even her fade bruise looked like it came back, grabbing her stuff she leaves the bathroom to head to bed, getting under the covers, using her pillow as a backrest, she grabs one of her books, clipping a little light on the hardback, turning it on and starts to read. She didn't realise how late it was when she heard the door open, looking up it was no other than Pinky still wear her pink outfit, rolling her eyes she couldn't be asked to wonder where she went but she didn't had to guess it was to do with her Vlog. Looking at her watch she put her bookmark on the chapter, puts her book to one side after turning off the little light, lays down on her side facing the window, calling it a night.
The next morning
Ailbhe snaps her eyes open when she heard a bird chipping close to the window, the sun had barley cracked, looking at her watch finding out it is 5:37 AM, groaning slightly rolling onto her back, knowing she will not be able to go back to sleep she decided to get up, grabbing her toilette bag and clothes for the day she makes a beeline for the bathroom quietly not to wake up the others. After she was done in there, quickly dropping her stuff on her bed she leave the room, entering the living area to grab breakfast, thankfully the staff left some food that was not sweets or junk food, and several bottles of water and juice boxes, it was better than nothing.
After eating she made her way to the Table Tennis, she found the paddles and ball and after fixing the table so one side was up, she lazily started playing till Roxie and Dave entered around 7:30AM, the adults surprised to see the fighter up so early. They started to wake up the other campers, so Aithne puts the table back as she found it, Roxie informs her that they well be leaving for their trip to the Dino Lab at 9AM, so Aithne heads back to the girls dorm, the girls wear in the process of getting up.
"Good morning, how long have you been up?" Sammy asked.
"Morning, woke up about 5:30 ish and I couldn't get back to sleep."
"Darn, well it's another day at camp."
Aithne stared at her as she left the room, how can anyone be so happy in the morning, any who she gets to her bed, leaning down to grab her crossbody bag, taking a few things out to make space, leaving the room she grabbed two bottles of water. She waited for the others outside at the entrance, sitting down on the steps, she is not use to the heat, she has been to Spain and France for her Championship fights she could deal with that but not so much for topical, she can always tie her long sleeve top around her waist if she needs to cool down. Once everyone showed up they got in the jeep and drove off, however they had to make a little pitstop.
Aithne and the other campers where informed that Kenji, Darius, and Brooklynn sneaked out and the two boys got into trouble except Pinky gets a warning which confused Aithne, they get out of the jeep and Roxie and Dave lead Darius and Kenji to Dinosaur poo.
"That's one big pile of shite," Aithne scoffed with a small smile, the joke was there she had to say it.
"Language Aithne," Roxie lightly scolded, Aithne rolled her eyes. "Enjoy cleaning this up boys."
She throws two spads to them, they each catch one.
"We're going to the genetics lab," Roxie says as she makes her way to the Jeep, Aithne jumped in where she first sat yesterday, the rest of the teen entered, and after Dave gave something to Darius for the smell, they head on route to the Lab.
However not only five minutes into the drive, Aithne spotted Brooklynn on her phone looking down.
"Ugh, I'm still dropping followers?" Brooklynn complained.
Aithne rolled her eyes, this was getting on her nerves, and she is so glad that she is not into her own phone unlike Pinky, she only has it to keep in contact with her family and friends.
"So, what's your next video?" Sammy asked. "Ooh maybe there's baby Dino eggs in the lab. Everyone loves a baby video."
"Whatever it is, it'll be cool," said Brooklynn.
Aithne was going to say something but stopped herself when she catch the smell of hand sanitiser, and by the smell only it had a lot of rubbing alcohol in it, she hated that smell, too many memories, too unhappy memories. It turned out it was Ben rubbing it on his arms, he notice that me and Yasmina where watching him with confused looks.
"Sanitiser." he says grabbing the bottle and putting some on his leg. "Who knows what creepy Dino goo is at that lab. Gotta be ready for anything, the whole world is a grab-bag of gross and we're all along for the moist, sticky roller coaster ride called life."
"You don't go outside much do you?" Aithne asked.
"No, I do not," Ben simply replied on putting the throat and neck.
It took another 20 minutes before they got the lab, before they could go in she hears Pinky filming a new into for another video.
"What's good Brooklanders, today I'm coming to you from one of Jurassic world's coolest remove genetics labs!"
Aithne tried to suppress a groan of annoyance as they walked down the corridor, where they lead to the main room, filled with science devices that she had no interest in, the blinding light again reminders her of being in Hospitals, the white walls, the beeping from machines she can even smell chemicals, she put her hands in her jean pocket, she realised their was something in her left pocket, she pulls it out and it was a ping pong ball, it would seem she forget she had put it in there while using the table tennis, she puts it back in her pocket to make sure to put it back when they return to camp. As she looked around a dull voice caught her attention, but frowned darkly when she realised it was Doctor Henry Wu.
"I'm sorry, but Mr. Masrani has accelerated the timetable for our newest exhibit yet again. I simply don't have time to spend the afternoon babysitting children."
"Geez who shit in his coffee," she muttered to herself.
"You kiss your mother with that?" Ben asked.
Aithne stared at the small boy, making him whimpered and hurried off away from her, she huffed, she regretted giving Ben a cold look, he's a harmless kid. She goes back to looking around, out of earshot spotting Brooklynn filming other scientists, Wu spots her, but as she slowly walks closer she hears Pinky baiting Wu into an "interview" for his work. Aithne's anger begins to raise, yes his work, work and money that could have been used for other factors instead of entertainment parks, she walks away when Dave calls out to them at one of the egg incubator.
"You guys look, oh I think one of these eggs is about to hatch."
"That's not possible," Wu says, quickly heading to one of the monitors. "That Ankylosaurus has only been incubating for ten weeks."
They watched the egg hatch, egg goo landed on Ben, the baby Dino was free but still had a its head, it tried to remove it however it rolls off the table, Ben catches it, he takes off the egg shell that was on its head, it squeaks when it lead eyes on the boy holding it. Aithne had to admit the baby Dino is cute.
"Sweet, one of its head bumps is bigger than the other!" Brooklynn pointed out.
"Asymmetry? In my lab?" Aithne heard Wu complained, she was losing her patience.
"She's so… tiny," Ben cooed.
"But she won't stay tiny for long, right?" Roxie said.
"That's the idea," Wu responded. "All the dinosaurs go through an accelerated growth cycle. They're supposed to incubate for 13 weeks with no noticeable defects but apparently this one slipped through."
"Well not everything goes smoothly in life Doc, deal with it," Aithne says facing the man.
Wu glares at Aithne who returned the glare as well, and they maintain the glaring contest as Wu walks, they both turned away, Aithne scoffed muttered 'Loscadh is dó ort' before looking back at the baby Dino. The Dino started to look at her for whatever reason, then an idea popped into her head, she gets out the Ping Pong ball and places it on the table, the ankylosauruses baby started to nudge it when its face, seeming to enjoy playing with it when starts rolling it into the empty hole like it was playing Golf, Aithne smiled a little, she and everyone continues to watch it as Ben picks it up, suddenly not caring about germs anymore.
"Well, that's it Ben, looks like you live here now." Roxie commented.
"Time for you all to leave," Wu demands dragging Brooklynn by her arm, pushing her to the group. "Clearly this group has no respect for my lab."
Wu hassle glares at Brooklynn, Aithne took no time to know the reason of the sudden kick out.
"But what about Bumpy?" Ben asked, still holding the baby Dino.
"Aw, Bumpy! You gave it a name, that's precious!" Dave says.
Wu snatches Bumpy from Ben's hands, Aithne's dislike for Wu only grew more, she clenches her jaw, and her fist tighten.
"The asset will soon be released into a herd of ankylosauruses," Wu plainly replied. "Then she'll be their problem, just like you all will cease to be my problem when you leave."
Aithne stepped forward, Roxie places her hand on her shoulder guiding away, when they passed Wu, she shrugged Roxie's hand off.
"All right, bup-bup-bup-bup-bup! Hit the road, we are not wanted here." Dave says gently pushing Ben to the door.
On the way out, Aithne turned back as Bumpy squeals for Ben, she sees the boy looking back at the Baby Dino, feeling sorry for the boy Aithne places a hand on his shoulder to comfort him as they leave.
"Come on Benny boy," Aithne gently says.
The teens get in the back of the Jeep, Aithne sits next to Ben, on the road, she spots Brooklynn looking at her.
"What? Is there something on face?" Aithne asked, not appreciating why Pinky looking at her.
"Couldn't help notice the death glare at Doctor Wu and was about ready to punch him in the face," Brooklynn replied.
"That is none of your busy Pinky," Aithne retorted. "You keep your nose out it, seeing how you cannot control yourself."
"Hey, you're the one who looks like she would be anywhere else but here," Brooklynn spat back.
"At lease I'm not spoiling the time by getting everyone into trouble, if you wasn't snooping around the others would not have gotten kicked out for trying to please random people online."
"Says the girl how fights for a living," Brooklynn huffed.
"Hey what I do after my fights go to a worthy cause, so feck off," Aithne exclaimed.
"Hey! What's going on back there," Roxie called from the driver seat.
"Nothing to worry about now," Aithne called back.
Brooklynn scoffed before turning her back to everyone and force on her phone yet again. Everyone else was is awkward silence thankfully it was cut short when the jeep stopped back at where Darius and Kenji where left with the pile of Dinosaur poo.
"Hey guys," Darius says in between breathes.
"Why are you too so out of breath?" Roxie asked.
"Just doing the job we're told," Darius replied walking towards the Jeep. "How was the field trip?"
"Oh well, um, you know," Yasmina states. "Ben fell in love with a dinosaur, and Super Star here got us booted from the lab."
"That is not what happen-," Brooklynn retorted, but Sammy quickly says.
"How'd poop patrol go?"
"Uh," Darius starts but Kenji walks up to them.
"Awesome! You all should've seen how I owned-"
"This valuable experience!" Darius cuts Kenji mid sentences. "Um learned a lot about ourselves and uh… yep!"
"Oh, well then," Roxie says. "Hit the showers. And maybe stay in there for a while?"
They drive away.
"Use soap," Ben calls out while holding his nose. "Lots of soap."
Once they made it back to Camp, Aithne makes a beeline to the small Gym after quickly getting into her workout get, an basically raised hellfire onto one of the poor punching bags, she lost track of time while she was in there, she didn't care, she needed to get the anger out of her system. She punched and kicked till her muscles where screaming at her to stop, it was not till the lights went out she realised the time, curfew had started, she leaves the gym, grabs a bottle of water and snack bar from the kitchen before heading to the girls showers to cool down.
She felt miles better after that, but her mind would not switch off unlike her body, she makes her way to her bed laying on top of the covers and grabs a small note pad n pen, turning on her little light, she starts to write haiku's, something she picked up from her Ma, and once she written her third haiku she starts to doodle Celtic patterns in the corners another habit she would do when her mind would not sleep.
"You're still up?" a voice whispered out.
Aithne looked up, seeing Yasmina looking down at her cross the room opposite from her.
"Oh sorry did I wake ya?" Aithne asked, she looked at her watch 12:48. "I couldn't sleep."
"Well you were in the gym for a long time," Yasmina says. "I take it punching the bag helped?"
"Well better the bag then somebody," Aithne says,
"Yeah, back at the Jeep was… something," Yasmina awkwardly mentioned.
"Yeah well, better let Pinky get the message now instead of later," Aithne replied, closing the book.
"Yeah I do agree that Brooklynn did was not right," Yasmina responded. "Kinda ruined the fun."
"At least somebody agrees with me," Aithne replied. "Even if she is right that I don't like being here, but that is a story for another time, we better get to sleep."
Aithne turns off the light after putting her notebook down.
"Right," Yasmina says lying back done on her bed. "Night."
"Oíche Mhaith," Aithne replied laying flat on her back staring up at the top bunk, waiting for sleep to take her away, but to no avail.
Well that is the first chapter, thought I combined the first two episodes into one, and I might do that in future chapters and with the added my own chapters for the in between of the seasons and character development, bonding etcetera.
Also I know my OC is being a little sour about being on the Island, but it is all part of the plan, don't worry it won't last long to any that do not like it, the way I'm portraying my OC is what I felt when I first watch the show, like how I didn't like Kenji or Brooklynn at first, and how I found Sammy a little annoying at the beginning till in later episodes, and that Yasmina, Ben and Darius were the only characters I loved, as we all have our favourites and less favourites, till later season where I've come to love them equally.
And yes this is going to be an Yaz x OC story, she is my favourite character, and I just love how she changes from season to season, and how it is carrying on in Chaos Theory and by the looks of what happens in season 2, I'm loving the development more and more.
Also the Galic I'm using is from google, so I hope it is the correct words to anyone who struggle to say Aithne it like 'AH N – y uh', it means 'Fire', which seems fitting for my OC, especially what I have instore for her.
And to translate 'Loscadh is dó ort' means 'That you may be burned and scorched' and 'Oíche Mhaith' means goodnight.
