A few hours after the bizarre incident at the park, Chrono, Kazuma, and Kumi found themselves at Card Capital 2, accompanied by Kamui and the others. They had rushed here after bringing the unconscious Naoki and Shingo back to the shop, desperate to get them treated. A Vanguard fight had somehow left both of them physically injured—a fact that none of them could comprehend.

The familiar warmth of Card Capital 2 was a stark contrast to the eerie tension hanging over the group. Normally, the shop would be bustling with excited cardfighters, but today, silence filled the air. The usual sounds of shuffling decks, friendly banter, and laughter were absent, replaced only by the quiet rustling of bandages and the faint breathing of the two unconscious fighters.

Misaki stood over them, her hands moving carefully as she secured a bandage around Naoki's forehead. His injuries, though minor, were unsettling—faint scorch marks lined his arms, and a strange exhaustion seemed to weigh on him, as if something had drained his energy.

Across from her, Shingo Komoi lay on another couch, an ice pack resting on his head. His glasses had been set aside neatly on the table, giving an uncharacteristic stillness to his usually expressive face.

Chrono, Kumi, and Kazuma stood nearby, uneasily shifting in place. Kamui leaned against the wall, arms crossed, his expression unreadable. Unlike the others, he had an idea of what they were dealing with, but he didn't like it. Not one bit.

A heavy silence filled the room until the front door chime rang.

Two figures entered— Shin and Ibuki.

Ibuki had come at Misaki's request, and the moment he stepped inside, his sharp gaze locked onto the unconscious fighters. Without hesitation, he approached them.

"How are they?" Ibuki asked, his tone calm yet firm.

Misaki finished securing Naoki's bandages before looking up. "They're fine. Just unconscious and a little bruised up, but they'll recover."

Ibuki gave a slight nod before turning his gaze toward the others. "What happened?"

Chrono, Kumi, and Kazuma exchanged confused glances before the Gear Chronicle user sighed, rubbing the back of his head.

"Honestly? We don't know," he admitted. "We just found them like this after running into Kamui-san."

Ibuki's eyes shifted toward Kamui. "Katsuragi?"

Kamui remained silent for a moment before letting out a sigh. "Shingo texted me for help. When I got there, I didn't know what was going on. I ran into Chrono and the others while looking for them, and then…" He gestured toward the unconscious fighters. "I saw them getting defeated in a card fight."

Ibuki narrowed his eyes. "And how exactly did they get these injuries?"

Kamui hesitated, then exhaled sharply. "I don't know how to explain it, but… I saw it."

Shin blinked in confusion. "Saw what?"

Kamui's grip on his arms tightened slightly. "…The field changed."

Chrono furrowed his brow. "Changed? What do you mean?"

Kamui looked up, his voice quieter now. "It wasn't just a normal fight table—it turned into space."

Kazuma frowned. "Wait… space? Like a GIRS system fight?"

Kumi shook her head. "That can't be right. There weren't any GIRS set up at the park. Right?"

"no" Kamui shook his head. "It wasn't an illusion or a system effect. It was real." He clenched his fists. "I saw them fighting against someone. A masked woman using Link Joker and had a gang of Reversed people."

At the mention of Reversed, Ibuki's expression darkened, and Misaki stiffened slightly, her grip on the first aid kit tightening.

A thick silence filled the air.

Chrono noticed the shift in Ibuki and Misaki's demeanor and frowned. "Hey… you two are acting like this is serious. What's Reversed?"

Ibuki didn't answer immediately. Instead, he exchanged glances with Misaki, then Kamui. They all seemed to understand something that Chrono, Kumi, and Kazuma didn't.

Kamui clicked his tongue in frustration. "Tch. No surprise you guys don't know. You weren't there."

Chrono crossed his arms. "Then maybe someone should tell us what's going on."

Ibuki let out a slow breath. "…Years ago, there was an incident. A crisis involving Link Joker. It wasn't just a fight—it was an invasion."

Chrono, Kumi, and Kazuma blinked. "Invasion?"

Ibuki's eyes narrowed. "The world of Vanguard was nearly consumed by it. Fighters weren't just losing matches. They were losing themselves."

Kazuma scoffed. "That sounds like something out of a sci-fi movie."

Kamui clenched his fists. "I wish it was."

For the first time since the conversation started, Kamui's usual confidence was replaced with something else—something that Chrono had never seen in him before. A quiet, simmering anger.

"I fought in that war," Kamui muttered, his voice lower now. "And I watched people I cared about get taken over… one by one."

Chrono, Kumi, and Kazuma stayed silent, sensing the weight in Kamui's words.

Ibuki looked at Kamui. "And now it's happening again."

Kamui grit his teeth. "I don't know for sure. But that fight? That masked woman? She wasn't normal. And she had Reverse units." He had a quick flashback as he saw how Linker's Halcion took down Shingo's Magatsu Storm, but he also saw that the rear guard units were Reverse Units. "and more than one too."

Misaki's eyes widened slightly. "Reverse units? But those should have been—"

"cease to exist," Ibuki finished for her, his tone grim. "But if they're back… that means the battle we thought was over never really ended."

The tension in the room thickened.

Shin, who had been silent up until now, finally spoke. "So… what do we do?"

"we'll contact the others." Ibuki's answer was immediate. "and we'll find this Linker named woman."

"good idea." Misaki nodded.

"ah, right. I nearly forgot." Chrono spoke out. "that Linker named lady suddenly acted weird before disappearing on us"

"weird?" Ibuki looks at Chrono. "explain."

"she started acting weird and then told Katsuragi-san to keep Ibuki-san and a person named Aichi safe from harm." Kumi stated while remembering back the scene.

"after that she and the rest of the crazed up dudes just disappeared into thin air." Kazuma added in.

"me and Sendou?" Ibuki spoke before cupping his chin. "why the both of us?"

"I don't get why you need safety, but I do understand that Aichi-oniisan needs it." Kamui stated. "if Reverse is back with the Link Joker, I got to call on him to check on him."

"don't worry." Misaki told Kamui. "Aichi is with Kai right now, they're on their way back to Japan after finishing a quick trip to the Euro Vanguard League."

"I see." Kamui nodded in understanding. "if Kai is with Onii-san, then he's in safe hands."

"we should inform them, just in case." Ibuki stated before he reaches for his Fica to quickly send a message to the two. "Katsuragi, come with me. We need to meet up with the other Clan Leaders to talk about this incident and see if there's any other similar ones."

"got it." Katsuragi nodded.

"be careful, you two." Misaki told the two as they nodded before leaving the shop.

"just what is going on?" Chrono asks, confused. "what is this Reverse stuff that Kamui-san and the others were talking about?"

"maybe it's time for you guys to learn about it." Misaki said while getting off her seat and turning towards them. "it's quite a long story, so it'd be best for us to just sit around."

The weight of those words settled on everyone's shoulders. No one knew what would happen next. But one thing was certain. This was only the beginning.

The streets of Tokyo were filled with the usual late afternoon bustle—students heading home, shopkeepers preparing for the evening rush, and the occasional group of cardfighters chatting excitedly about their latest matches. Among them were Taiyou and Hiroki, walking side by side as they made their way toward Card Capital 2.

Taiyou, ever the composed and responsible one, walked with his hands on the side while carrying his school bag. Beside him, Hiroki groaned dramatically, stretching his arms behind his head.

"Ugh… I swear, they're trying to drown us in homework!" Hiroki complained. "Math, history, science, English—why does tenth grade feel like a nightmare!?"

Taiyou let out a small chuckle. "It's not that bad, Hiroki."

Hiroki shot him an incredulous look. "Easy for you to say, Taiyou. You actually study!"

"Well, we have to," Taiyou said with a light smile. "If we want to enter the upcoming Dragon Empire Vanguard event, we need to keep up our grades. Otherwise, we'll just be struggling later."

Hiroki groaned again, this time in mock defeat. "Yeah, yeah, I get it. You sound just like my mom."

Taiyou shrugged. "I'll take that as a compliment."

The two continued walking, their conversation shifting between school, Vanguard, and their excitement for the upcoming tournament. Hiroki, as usual, was more focused on the fun of the event, while Taiyou, always the planner, was already thinking about potential strategies.

Just as they turned onto a quieter street near Card Capital 2, a strange sensation washed over Taiyou—an odd pressure in the air, almost like a storm was approaching. He stopped for a brief moment, his instincts telling him something was off.

Then, from the shadows of a nearby alleyway, two figures emerged.

The first was Linker who appeared alongside her smaller companion who wears an identical clothing to her but her mask shows her mouth that is smiling.

Taiyou's muscles tensed slightly. "Who are they?"

Hiroki, however, had no such caution and immediately spoke up. "Who're you two supposed to be?"

Ring tilted her head and smiled. "Oh, how rude of us! We should introduce ourselves, right, Linker?"

The masked woman remained silent for a moment before nodding slightly.

"I am Linker," she stated in a voice devoid of emotion. "And this is Ring. We've been looking for you, Asukawa Taiyou."

Taiyou's eyes narrowed slightly at the mention of his name. "me? Why?"

Ring giggled. "Of course! You're a Gold Paladin fighter, right? And you're really, really good, too!"

Taiyou's unease grew. The way she said it… it felt as if they had been watching him.

"What do you want?" Taiyou asked carefully.

Before either girl could answer, heavy footsteps echoed from the alleyway behind them.

Dozens of men dressed in biker jackets and rough streetwear stepped out from the shadows, surrounding Taiyou and Hiroki in a loose formation. Their eyes gleamed with a strange, unnatural light, a dark aura flickering faintly around them.

Hiroki took an uneasy step back. "W-What the hell…? Where did these guys come from!?"

Taiyou remained still but alert. His instincts screamed danger—something wasn't right about these people. His eyes locked onto Linker. "What's going on?"

Linker's voice remained calm, but there was a hint of finality in her tone.

"I am here to challenge you to a Vanguard fight, Asukawa Taiyou." Linker demanded while holding up her vanguard deck. "and your only answer is yes."

Taiyou blinked. "A Vanguard fight? Here? Now?"

Hiroki scoffed, trying to shake off his unease. "You seriously went through all this trouble just to ask for a match? Lady, there are way easier ways to set up a cardfight."

Ring laughed lightly. "Oh, but it's not just any cardfight. It's important, you see!"

Taiyou didn't like the way she said that.

He turned his gaze back to Linker. "And if I refuse?"

Ring's smile never faded, but it somehow turned a bit dark. "You won't."

Taiyou immediately understood. The thugs weren't just here to watch.

The air grew thick with tension.

Hiroki's hands balled into fists. "Tch… Taiyou, I don't know what's going on, but this is looking bad."

Taiyou took a deep breath. He didn't want to fight under these conditions, but he also knew there wasn't a choice.

Still, something about this felt… wrong. A creeping sensation gnawed at the back of his mind—like he was stepping onto a battlefield he didn't fully understand.

Taiyou locked eyes with Linker.

"Fine," he said, pulling out his deck. "I'll fight you."

Linker nodded approvingly, as if she had expected this outcome.

Ring clapped her hands together excitedly. "Yay! This is gonna be so much fun!" she then raises her right hand up and did a loud finger snap. "Field Open!"

In an instant, the area gets turns into that of outer space as this surprised Taiyou and Hiroki.

"The heck!?" Hiroki exclaimed in surprise. "we're in….space?!"

"GIRS!? No, this is different!" Taiyou said as he looks around before seeing a play field appearing in front of him and Linker who spreads open her deck to pick her starting vanguard.

"let us begin, Asukawa Taiyou." Linker stated as she placed her starting vanguard to the vanguard circle, shuffled her deck, placed it to the deck space, and drew five cards into her hands.

'just what is going on here?' Taiyou looks tense before he proceeded to follow in action. 'this fight….it just feels so weird!'

"Stand up! Vanguard!" Linker and Taiyou exclaimed in unison before flipping their starting vanguard open and in a flash of light they appeared on the playing field in real life.

Back at the Card Capital 2, Misaki is currently talking to Chrono, Kumi, and Kazuma about what they wish to know about the recent incident.

They were seated near the register counter, Misaki sitting behind the register with the two Assistacats on her lap, resting and sleeping together. Across from her, Chrono, Kumi, and Kazuma sat with curious, if somewhat uneasy, expressions.

"Years ago… when I was in highschool, there was an incident that occurred back then." Misaki spoke out while stroking the black Assistacat's head. "an invasion from invaders that were trying to conquer both the planet Cray and Earth. It was a war that me and many of my friends fought hard to end."

"and that war is somehow involved with what happened to Shingo-san and the others?" Kumi asks after blinking her eyes twice.

"yes." Misaki nodded, she closed her eyes as she remembers the past. "It all started when the Link Joker started invading earth by Reversing people."

"Reversing?" Chrono asks.

"Link Joker tried to expand their influence on Earth by turning vanguard fighters into their puppet servants." Misaki explained. "if a vanguard fighter gets defeated by a Reverse Fighter, they'll turn into one of them."

Kumi's eyes widened in horror. "Wait… are you saying it brainwashed people!?"

Misaki nodded grimly. "Yes."

"kinda like zombies?" Kazuma asks, unsure to believe in such a thing.

"somewhat alike, but if you defeat one, you can turn them back." Misaki replied while opening her eyes.

"just how did Link Joker got this to happen?" Chrono asks. "aren't they a clan of Cray as well?"

Misaki shook her head. "No. before becoming a part of Cray, Link Joker came from somewhere… far beyond from Cray." She thought back to the past incident. "Link Joker was an invading force. A parasite that sought to consume everything in its path."

Misaki thought back to the past and remembered how many of her friends got Reversed by the enemy forces.

"It spread like a disease," Misaki continued. "At first, it was isolated cases. But then, more and more fighters started falling to Reverse. Schools, card shops, entire regions—Vanguard itself became a battlefield." She clenched her hands. "And we fought."

Her memories played like a movie in her mind.

Misaki swallowed. "We fought, not just to win, but to save the people who had been taken."

Kumi was silent, gripping her skirt.

Kazuma furrowed his brow. "So what was the endgame? What did Link Joker want?"

Misaki's gaze flickered. "To erase Vanguard. To consume our world, just like it had tried to do to Cray." she paused for a long moment. Then, she closed her eyes. "the battle was long, but we've managed to won and saved both earth and Cray.." she slowly opens her eyes and they are filled with sadness as she remembered the faint memory of a blonde highschool student who appears in her mind. "but we've lost someone in the process."

Chrono, Kazuma, and Kumi all looked at her, sensing something deeper in her words.

"Link Joker's invasion never ended there, it caused a rift between friends, but was ended with the help of Cray and it stopped." Misaki said. "Link Joker became a clan of Cray and peace was present for everyone."

"but that peace is now disappearing, isn't it?" Chrono asks and Misaki nodded.

"if what had happened to Naoki and Shingo is true, we might be seeing another war between Earth and Cray against the forces of the Link Joker." Misaki stated with a hardened expression in her eyes.

Returning back to the cardfight between Taiyou and Linker, the playing field is as placed.

Taiyou's field has Sunshine Knight, Jeffrey as his vanguard unit along with his front right rearguard unit, while Knight of Early Dawn, Coel is his back center rearguard unit.

The battle is equal in both sides having 2 damage in their damage zone. The previous turn was Linker and it is now Taiyou's turn.

"She now has four of those Reverse Units in her hand." Hiroki said. Previously, Linker's two Crusgabel units attacked and activated their skills in retrieving the reverse cards; Demon Marquis, Amon Reverse, Ice Prison Hades Emperor, Cocytus Reverse, Dauntless Dominate Dragon Reverse, and Eradicator, Vowing Saber Dragon Reverse. "just what are those cards?"

"to have so many grade 3 cards that are of different clans.." Taiyou whispers as he starts his turn with drawing a card to his hand and tensing himself up. "Something tells me I have to end this fight quickly!" he proceeded to choose and ride his next grade card. "Ride! Knight of Dawnlight, Jago!" the vanguard unit disappears and a new golden knight takes its place. "I call! Holy Mage, Elio to the left! And to my right; Knight of New Sun, Catillus! Jeffrey moves to the back!"

"no guard." Linker replied as her vanguard Crusgabel gets hit with the attack. "damage trigger, check." She checks and got Strike Star-Vader, Krypton. "no trigger." The card is then placed to the damage zone, making it 3.

"Elio's skill activate! Counterblast and I put him into the soul!" Taiyou flips a card from the damage zone and shifts Elio into his vanguard's soul before checking the top three cards of his deck. "I check the top three cards of my deck, I choose one card and call it!" he picks and then places a new unit to the rearguard where Elio was. "Bladecross Lion!" a grade 3 high beast unit appears and roars loudly.

"alright! He got a grade 3 even when his vanguard is a grade 2!" Hiroki cheered with a big grin.

"damage is 5-2!" Hiroki cheered. "if Taiyou keeps up his guard, he'll win!"

"are you sure~?" Ring asks, cheerfully before giggling. "being overconfident has its downside, you know?"

"huh?" Hiroki looks at Ring before to Linker who starts her turn.

"stand and draw." Linker draw her card and place it into her hands before taking out one card that emits a maliciously dark red aura. "Asukawa Taiyou. This shall be your last cardfight for the rest of your life."

Taiyou's eyes widened in shock. "What!?"

Linker's masked face remained unreadable, but the sheer conviction in her tone sent a chill through him.

"I will ensure that you never touch a Vanguard card again." Linker held the card forward and then raise it up to the air, a powerful gust of wind erupted, swirling around violently as the energy from the card spiraled out of control. "for you shall fear your entire life!"

Taiyou and Hiroki shielded his face as a dark aura surged outward. His Golden Holy Sword, Gurguit stood firm, but he could feel it—an overwhelming power unlike anything he had faced before.

'This isn't normal…!' Taiyou thought, gritting his teeth. "Is this... even Vanguard anymore!?"

"O harbinger of despair! O embodiment of the inevitable end! Descend from the abyss and cast your shadow upon this doomed world!" Linker exclaimed as the card in her hand flashes a violet dark light that shone bright like a star. "The fate of all is sealed! The universe bends to your will!" she then proceeds to slam the card right on top of her vanguard unit. "RIDE!"

Darkness EXPLODED forth, A massive, all-consuming vortex of violet flames erupted from the field, swallowing everything in its reach. The very sky above them seemed to darken, as if the stars themselves were being erased from existence.

Taiyou's breath caught in his throat as the battlefield itself transformed—the golden light of his Gold Paladins was suffocated by an infinite void, the air itself crackling under the sheer weight of something that would be appearing.

A colossal, blazing demonic creature loomed over the battlefield, its glowing red eyes staring down at Taiyou as if gazing directly into his soul. Its form was monstrous, but is soon covered by mechanical limbs and pulsating violet flames, each filled with an ominous, otherworldly light.

"Star-Vader, Omega Glendios!" Linker proclaimed its name as Taiyou could barely move. The weight of Glendios' power pressed down on him, suffocating—like he was being crushed by the vastness of space itself.

"W-What... is this!?" Taiyou gasped, his hands trembling.

"What kind of unit is that!?" Hiroki exclaimed in surprise and shock.

"everyone~! Clap your hands for Glendios' arrival!" Ring cheered as her goons started clapping their hands. "make it as loud as possible.

"This is the end, Asukawa Taiyou..." Linker spoke and the very space around them seemed to collapse inward, as if the world itself was being pulled into oblivion. "Your fate is already sealed."

Taiyou looks at the field and could only feel something bad that would come upon him.

"I call, Amon Reverse and Star-Vader, Cold Death Dragon!" Linker places the two cards from her hands to the field as this made Niobium be retired for Amon Reverse to take its place while Cold Death Dragon appears on the empty front right rearguard circle. "now, Omega Glendios Skill activates!" she did a two finger point towards Catillus. "if a Reverse named Unit enters the field, it will become a Link Joker Unit and gain 4000 power! also I can lock one of your rearguard! I lock Catillus!"

Taiyou gasps as he watches Catillus writhing in pain before he becomes a locked card.

"I activate Cold Death Dragon's skill!" Linker stated as she flips a damage zone card face down and then points a finger at Taiyou. "you choose a rearguard circle and put the top card of your deck to that area as a locked card!"

Taiyou grits his teeth a bit as he takes the top card of his deck and placed it to his open rearguard circle.

"I activate Carbon's skill." Linker stated as she hovers a finger above the said unit. "with my vanguard being a Link Joker and your field having a locked card. Carbon goes into the soul and from my deck…" she slips the grade 0 unit into the soul before picking up her deck to check and then call another Link Joker unit to the spot where the previous one was. "I superior call Star-Vader, Dust Tail Unicorn."

"this is really bad…" Hiroki said, seeing how Taiyou lost an intercept rearguard and his hand only has four cards.

"I call Paradigm Shift Dragon and I activate its skill." Linker said as she picks up and place the critical trigger unit to the top of her deck before pointing at the back rearguard Coel. "I lock your Coel."

Taiyou watches as another rearguard unit gets locked and is unable to do anything about it.

"I shuffle my deck and then activate Dust Tail Unicorn's skill." Linker flipped another damage zone card and then slips the unit into his vanguard's soul before pointing a finger at Bladecross Lion. "I lock another unit."

"Bladecross Lion!" Taiyou cries out as the grade 3 high beast unit growls in pain before getting locked.

"n-no way! Four rearguards locked up!?" Hiroki exclaimed, seeing how Taiyou only has one rearguard left.

"I told you before. You shall fear Vanguard forever." Linker said as she then raises a hand above her vanguard unit. "now, Glendios! Show them the true meaning of fear" the grade 3 unit unleashes a maleficent aura that spreads to the sky and a violet red vanguard circle appears flashing in the sky. "Limit Break!" she did one counterblast and drops Ice Prison Hades Emperor, Cocytus Reverse from her hand to the drop zone then points two fingers at Taiyou. "all of your locked units are now Omega Lock!"

"wha!?" Taiyou looks and sees more dark rings adding themselves to the locked units.

"no guard!" Taiyou exclaimed and Jago gets bombarded by Amon Reverse's attack. "Damage Trigger check!" he checks for the damage trigger and gets Bladecross Lion. "no trigger…"

"Omega Glendios!" Linker exclaimed while swinging out her right hand forward in commanding her vanguard unit to prepare for attack. Omega Glendios charges up flames in its metallic grasp that started to rage uncontrollably.

"I got to guard this one!" Taiyou dropped a card and then called Holy Mage, Bryderi to the guardian circle. "Perfect Guard!"

Omega Glendios proceeded to slam the flames upon the guardian unit who created a large vanguard circle as a defensive shield.

"Twin Drive." Linker checks the top cards of her deck and gets Shockwave Star-Vader, Dysprosium. "Stand Trigger, all effect to Amon Reverse. Second check." The second card is Paradigm Shift Dragon. "Critical to Amon Reverse and power to Cold Death Dragon."

"Taiyou! This is bad!" Hiroki exclaimed as Taiyou looks at the cards in his hands and he only has one Flame of Victory and Gurguit in his hands.

'I can't fully guard!' Taiyou pales as the shield in his hands aren't enough.

"go! Cold Death Dragon! Amon Reverse!" Linker commanded as her unit went on the attack.

Cold Death Dragon charges reddish black flames in its jaws before spewing them out upon Jago who screams in pain as the attack exploded on him.

"agghh!" Taiyou shielded himself from the explosion as a card from the top of his deck flew and entered the damage zone, the card is Holy Mage, Pwyll.

Amon Reverse screeches out as the multi armed demon conjured multiple black flaming orbs that instantly barraged against Jago.

"agghh!" Taiyou screams in pain with his vanguard unit as the damage check reveals Flame of Victory and Gurguit, ending the battle with Linker's victory.

The battle ended as the space field disappeared.

"Taiyou!" Hiroki cried out as Taiyou fell to his knees before to the ground, the young man unconscious as the shockwave of the attack injured him enough to the point of fainting.

"with this, Olivier Gaillard remains as the last obstacle to completely obtaining the shard." Linker said, pocketing her deck away.

"hey, what do we do with this one?" Ring asks, coming near her comrade as both looked at Hiroki going straight for Taiyou's side, checking on him. "should we turn them both to our minions?"

"even though he lost, he is quite strong." Linker said as she takes out a vanguard card that glows a dark ominous aura. "he would be a perfect subordinate to turn more into our side."

"right~?" Ring said, taking out a card that had the same dark ominous aura glowing out.

"Taiyou! Taiyou!" Hiroki shakes him as Taiyou remains unconscious. "come on, man! Wake up!" he soon notices Linker and Ring approaching them while holding out their dark cards. "h-hey! Back off!"

"Don't worry~! It'll be over before you know it~" Ring said with an eerie singsong tone, her twisted cheerfulness making Hiroki's skin crawl.

He clenched his fists. 'Was this it!? Was this how it ended!?'

The two girls raised their dark cards and then…

"CLOSE YOUR EYES!" a voice shouted out loud as this surprised and confuse Hiroki.

"HUH!?" Hiroki barely had time to react before a giant plastic bottle of soda came flying in from out of nowhere, spinning through the air like a missile of fizzy destruction before it crashed against the pavement with a loud BANG!

A geyser of soda ERUPTED, blasting the area in a tidal wave of carbonated chaos.

Ring shrieked as a direct hit of sticky cola shot straight into her face, her twin tails now dripping with syrupy sugar.

Even Linker took a wary step back, her usually unreadable expression cracking ever so slightly as her attire nearly gets soaked by soda.

"w-what's going on!?" Hiroki cried out.

"glad you ask!" a dramatic voice echoed as Hiroki followed the source and sees the members of Trinity Dragon appearing near a vending machine. Each of them held plastic bags FILLED with sodas and snacks, standing like heroes at the climax of an over-the-top action movie.

Tsuneto chuckles as he did his so called cool pose. "Our timing is impeccable, as always."

Karl nodded. "agreeable, Tsuneto-san!"

"definitely!" Kei said, already shaking up two more bottles of soda.

"WE! TRINITY DRAGON IS HERE TO SAVE THE DAY!" the three cheered in unison while posing together.

This made a bit of an awkward silence to fill the area as they just made things very strange.

"the heck?" Hiroki sweatdropped.

"Linker, are they?" Linker looks at Ring who is busy washing up her hair that is now sticky because of the soda.

"no, they are definitely not worth it!" Ring exclaimed all angrily. "look at what they did to my hair!"

"and there's more where that came from!" Tsuneto exclaimed as he, Karl, and Kei started shaking more bottles of soda. "Hiroki! Get down and cover Taiyou!"

"r-right!" Hiroki quickly obliged as the trio started throwing soda bottles everywhere.

"SODA ATTACK!" the trio exclaimed as the soda bottles fell and started unleash gushes of carbonated sugary water which made them fly everywhere.

Ring screamed as a two-liter cola detonated right next to her, sending a direct blast of soda straight into her face. "AGHHH—IT'S IN MY EYES!"

Linker, though trying to maintain her composure, was now completely soaked, her attire clinging to her like a drenched towel.

"now!" Tsuneto exclaimed as he and Karl grabbed and carried Hiroki while Kei carried Taiyou. "run for it!"

"WAAAAAHHHH!" Hiroki flailed as he was dragged along. "THIS ISN'T SAVING ME AT ALL!"

"JUST BE GRATEFUL FOR IT!" Karl shouted back.

Linker and Ring, now utterly drenched in soda, stood in the aftermath of chaos, watching their targets escape.

Ring pouted as she wrung out her sticky twin tails. "Ughhh… they got away~!"

Linker remained silent for a long moment before turning around. "It doesn't matter." She turned, the dark aura around her briefly intensifying. "They cannot escape fate. Sooner or later… we will meet again."

She started walking away as Ring followed before the two of them disappeared into a dark portal.

As they vanished, a single crushed soda can rolled across the pavement, marking the end of one of the strangest battles ever.

That's a wrap!
