"Okay, just... act normal. Act normal. Act normal," I mumbled as I walked between people.
"I'm pretty sure most people don't repeat that when they're 'acting normal'," Steel said to me in my head.
After we both had our respective emotional breakdowns, I asked Steel to disguise the Steel Suit while suppressing my energy so that no one like S.H.I.E.L.D. can track us. We walked out of the alley wearing -or to be accurate, looked like I was wearing- a white shirt under a blue jacket and grey jeans.
What were we doing now? Just walking around the streets of what I assume is Newyork judging by the skyscrapers and what is mostly the Empire State building in the distance.
"Well, excuse me for not getting over my emotional crisis," I mumbled, taking a deep breath to calm my nerves. "Did YOU get over yours?"
"... We're getting off the topic, you said this was a world of Superheroes?" I rolled my eyes at the blatant change of the subject. "As in, actual superheroes? With capes? Powers? And origin stories?!" He sounded pretty excited.
Oh, right. Steel was a fan of Superheroes.
"Well, not all of them wear capes as part of their uniform but yeah, it is," I answered, stopping at a crossroad, waiting for the light to turn green. "So... what now? I'd like any ideas."
"We have no background, resources, or connections here," Steel summarised, his excitement gone at remembering our situation. "Honestly, I don't see how how this can be worse."
Just then, I heard a small thud and I completely froze, worried Steel jinxed it. Looking down, I saw a wallet on the ground with a woman walking towards the other side of the road.
The light must have turned green when I wasn't looking.
"Uh, excuse me!" I called out to the woman as I picked up the wallet and began running towards her. "Excuse me! You dropped this!"
The woman, who already reached the other side, stopped and turned towards me as I reached her.
She had long, black hair in a bob-cut. Her clothes consisted of a dark grey business skirt with a matching, long sleeved coat over a white shirt. She was wearing black leggings and plain, black shoes.
I couldn't see her eyes. She was wearing sunglasses, but the rest of her face... Well, she was honestly quite beautiful. But, I wasn't here to gawk.
"Here," I handed her the wallet.
"Oh," the woman checked her pocket, realising her wallet wasn't there before she reached forward to take it back. "Thanks."
When she grabbed the wallet, our fingers touched and... there was a spark.
Not metaphorically or romantically, but an actual spark. I would have passed it off as static electricity if not for the fact the spark was followed with a small stream of blue energy flowing from my hand into hers.
Both of us immediately pulled our hands back, looking at each other in surprise. Somehow, she looked even more surprised than I am before she turned around and began speed walking away.
"Steel, what was that?" I mumbled as I looked around, hoping no one saw that.
"I-I don't know! Your Turbo Energy reacted to her on its own," Steel replied into my head. "Also, you still have her wallet."
Looking into my hand, I realised the woman never took her wallet from my hand. "We need to find her."
I began sprinting lightly to where I saw the lady go. It was a bit hard with all the people, but I still managed to keep her in my sights and saw her go into a multistorey parking lot.
Following her inside, I just barely saw her go up the stairs, so I immediately ran after her. As soon as I reached the top, just like before, I barely saw her go up the stairs to the next floor.
We kept this up until I reached the top floor. This floor didn't have any cars in it and it was just me and the lady.
"Wait up!" I called out the lady as it was just us.
The lady looked at me like I was some kind of alien, which is technically half true for me and fully true for Steel but she shouldn't have anyway to know that.
"How are you...," the Lady looked me over. At least I assume she did with the way she moved her head, I still can't see her eyes. "But... the amount I took should have..."
"What are you talking about?" I asked, wondering if she has an idea on what that was.
"Can you.. Can you hold still for a moment?" The lady asked, hesitation filling her voice as she walked closer before raising her hand and bringing it closer to my shoulder.
She didn't touch me, but like before a steady stream of blue Turbo Energy flew out of me and into her hand. She kept it like that for a few seconds before pulling her hand back.
The woman looked at her hand before turning her head to face me. "You're... still alright?"
"Uh, yeah, mostly. I- WOAH!" I nearly jumped as the woman lunged forward and hugged me.
Turbo Energy began flowing out of me into her. I realised a bit too late what she was doing and what she did before.
She was absorbing my Turbo Energy.
But, if the previous two times were her taking REALLY small sips, this time she was gulping it down like her life depends on it.
"H-Hey! Let go!" I tried to push her away but, strangely enough, I couldn't get her to so much as budge.
Urgh... I'm getting dizzy... everything... going... black.
Third POV:
As the woman finally let go of Zack, he took a few steps backwards and fell unconscious on the ground, laying on his back.
The woman, meanwhile, absorbed the remains of the energy, a satisfied smile on her face before it was replaced with a horrified expression.
"Oh no! What did I do!?" The woman immediately knelt besides Zack and froze as she saw his chest moving. "He's... He's still alive? But how?"
As the woman was about to touch Zack, Steel burst from his hiding place on the chest plate, dismissing the civilian clothes camouflage on the Steel Suit, and zapped the woman's arm away.
"Back off, lady!" Steel cried out, pointing both his hands at the woman as she jumped to her feet and looked at him in shock. "I don't know what you did to him but you better undo it or you're in for a zapping of a lifetime!" The tips of his pointy arms let out sparks to emphasise on the warning.
"Wait, wait, wait!" The woman immediately raised her hands in surrender. "I didn't mean to hurt him. I just... lost control for a moment. Look, let's take him back to my place and I promise to do everything I can to help!"
"Ha! As if I'd trust you after what you did!" Steel mocked, floating in front of Zack defensively.
"Well, the alterative is that you, somehow, take him to a hospital and explain what you and he are," the woman offered an ultimatum.
Steel looked between the woman and Zack for a few moments before groaning. "Fiiiiine," he still pointed his hands at her. "But I'm keeping an eye on you, lady."
"That's fair," the woman knelt down again and picked up Zack with incredible ease, only this time, no Tubro Energy was absorbed. "Come on. My place isn't far away."
