Ascending to the Peak
The next morning, the Galaxy Team Survey Corps and Ingo were sitting around a campfire, eating breakfast.
"Hey, Lisa; how are my Pokemon?" Lynn asked Lisa.
"They are fully healed." replied Lisa.
"Sweet." said Lynn. Soon after, everyone finished eating.
"Okay, everyone; we have a frenzied Pokemon to take care of." said Lincoln; the rest of the Galaxy Team Survey Corps, Lincoln's Pokemon, and Ingo nod in response. They began walking away from their camp and towards the high cliff; moments later, they reached it.
"This is Clamberclaws Cliffs; we need to get to the top before we can continue on to where Lord Electode is." said Warden Ingo.
"Looks like a long climb." said Lucy from behind Warden Ingo, startling him; he takes several deep breaths to recover from his Lucy-induced fright.
"That's why we require Sneasler's assistance." replied Warden Ingo.
"I'll call on Sneasler." said Luna, taking out the Celestica Flute from her sachel and begins playing it; soon, Sneasler arrived, wearing what appeared to be a cylindular basket on its back.
"What's with the basket?" asked Lana.
"I believe Sneasler uses it to carry a person up cliffs." said Ingo. Lincoln looks back at his Pokemon.
"I'm not sure most of my Pokemon can fit in that, and I don't want to leave them behind." said Lincoln.
"It's okay, Lincoln; I'm sure the rest of us can take care of Lord Electrode without you." said Lynn.
"Don't worry, Lincoln; I'll stay behind with you." said Akari, hooking her arm to one of Lincoln's, making him blush.
"I will stay behind also." said Professor Laventon.
"But due to the size of the basket, Sneasler will have to carry the rest of us one at a time." said Lisa.
"This may take a while." said Lynn. Leni walks to Sneasler and climbs into the basket it was wearing; Sneasler walks to the cliff wall and uses its claws to climb to the top. After Sneasler reaches the top, Leni climbs out of the basket; after that, Sneasler climbs back down the cliff to the rest of the Loud sisters. Moments later, after Sneasler drops off Lynn, it goes back down for Lucy; she was looking around when she spots a wisp on top of a small cliff.
"Sneasler; will you help bring me up there so that I may acquire that wisp?" asked Lucy, pointing towards the wisp; Sneasler nods before it and Lucy walk towards the cliff. Once Lucy and Sneasler arrived to where the cliff is, Lucy climbs onto Sneasler's basket and carries her up the cliff; once they reached the top, Lucy climbs out of the basket and walks to where the wisp is and grabs it. After that, she climbs back into the basket and Sneasler climbs down the cliff; moments later, Sneasler then carries Lucy up the cliff to where her Leni, Luna, Luan, and Lynn were waiting.
Moments later, Sneasler is on top of the cliff where it drops off Lisa. After that, the Loud sisters and Ingo continue travelling throughout Clamberclaws Cliffs.
Meanwhile, back at Jubilife Village, Lori and Lola took Lily outside the village while Lola is taking a break from running her and Lana's store so they can both train their Pokemon to prepare for future missions.
Lori's Staraptor and Sealeo got stronger, her Beautifly learned Bug Buzz, and her Vespiquen learned Power Gem.
Lola's Ponyta, Sylveon, and Happiny all learned Double-Edge, and her Glameow got stronger; she didn't train her Teddiursa due to her not wanting her to evolve into Ursaring.
Lily's Bibarel, Staraptor, and Teddiursa got stronger, her Beautifly learned Bug Buzz, her Graveler learned Bulldoze and Stealth Rock, and her Cherrim learned Double-Edge. During the training, her Teddiursa evolved into Ursaring. Fortunately for him, Lily still loved him even if he is an Ursaring now; she showed it by hugging his leg, much to his delight.
"Big teddy." said Lily.
"AAAAAAWWWWW!" said Lori and Lola.
Moments later, Lori, Lola, and Lily were headed back to the village.
"How do you think the others are doing, Lori?" Lola asked her oldest sibling.
"Not sure; I hope they're doing okay." replied Lori. They continued on their way back to Jubilife Village.
Back at Clamberclaw Cliffs, Leni, Luna, Luan, Lynn, Lana, Lisa, and Warden Ingo continue travelling on their way to where Lord Electrode is.
Lucy took the time to gather wisps that she comes across. Moments later, the group arrived at a large area with ruins around it.
"What is this place?" asked Leni.
"I believe these are the Celestica Ruins." replied Warden Ingo. As they looked around, Luan sees a blue, rocklike Pokemon with arms and legs, and a red nose.
"Hey; what's that Pokemon?" asked Luan, pointing at the Pokemon.
"That would be a Nosepass." replied Lisa.
"That's our sister; she 'nose' a lot about Pokemon." said Luan. "Ha, ha, ha; get it?" Everyone moans in response.
"Are her jokes always this bad?" asked Lynn.
"I don't remember." replied Leni.
"Anyway; I don't want to 'Nosepass' on the chance on getting a new Pokemon." said Luan.
"I should inform you that Nosepass is a rock type, so I recommend using Whiscash." said Lisa.
"Thanks, Lisa." said Luan, pulling out a pokeball. "Whiscash, go!" She throws Whiscash's pokeball and releases him. "Whiscash, use Mud Bomb!" Whiscash launches a ball of mud out of his mouth and it hits Nosepass, dealing super effective damage; The Nosepass jumps at Whiscash while electricity surrounded its body and rams him, but not doing any damage.
"That would appear to be an electricial attack." said Lisa. "But since Whiscash is part ground, he should be immune to them."
"Okay, Whiscash, use Water Pulse!" said Luan. Whiscash opens his mouth and a ball of blue water forms in front of it; Whiscash launches the water ball at Nosepass and hits it, dealing super effective damage. Nosepass holds out its arms and fires a pale pink beam of energy from between them and it hits Whiscash, dealing damage.
"Whiscash, use Mud-Slap!" said Luan. Whiscash sprays a stream of mud out of his mouth and it hits Nosepass, dealing super effective damage; some of the mud goes onto Nosepass' eyes. Multiple gray rocks form around Nosepass and they fly at Whiscash, hitting him, and dealing damage.
"Whiscash, use Water Pulse once more!" said Luan. Whiscash launches another blue ball of water at Nosepass and hits it, dealing super effective damage, and knocking it to the ground. Luan takes out an empty pokeball and throws it at Nosepass, hitting it, and sucking it in; it wiggled and a firework shoots up from it. "Yes! I caught Nosepass."
"Well done, Luan." said Lisa. "Your Nosepass appeared to be male, and the ones around here should know Tackle, Thunder Wave, Spark, Iron Defense, Rock Slide, and Power Gem."
After Luan returns her Whiscash to her pokeball, the group continued looking walking through the area while looking around. As they do, Lynn sees Melli with his Skuntank, standing between two orange banners that had an image of what appeared to be a pokeball with eyes and a mouth, in front of a small tunnel.
"Hey, it's that Melli chump." said Lynn, making the rest of the group look to see the Diamond Clan warden; the group walks over to him.
"Welcome to Moonview Arena; the seat of Lord Electrode." Melli says to the group.
"What do you want?" Lynn asked Melli.
"Listen; I know I've not exactly been supportive of you reaching this place, but a part of me did hope you make it." said Melli. "Call me contradictory all you like, galaxy grunt."
"I can think of other things to call you." said Lynn.
"Anyway, embracing the complexity of both ourselves and the world can only help us grow." said Melli.
"I guess that is true." said Luan.
"As a member of the Diamond Clan, my highest calling is to please almighty Sinnoh." said Melli. "And right now, I must protect my lord by stopping you where you stand."
"Are you challenging one of us to a Pokemon battle?" asked Luan.
"If you wish to gain entry to Lord Electrode's seat, you must defeat me in a Pokemon battle." said Melli.
"I'll battle you." said Lana, stepping forward.
"Very well; we will each use three Pokemon." said Melli; he turned towards his Skuntank. "Let's go, Skuntank; give them a whiff of your silent deadliness." Lana pulls out a pokeball while the rest of the group walked from her and Melli.
"Go, Gastrodon!" said Lana, throwing Gastrodon's pokeball, and releasing him.
"Skuntank, use Poison Jab!" said Melli. Skuntank leaps at Gastrodon while its right front paw glowed purple and it jabs Gastrodon with it, not dealing much damage; it turned purple under Gastrodon's eyes.
"Gastrodon appears to be poisoned." said Lisa.
"Gastrodon, use Mud Bomb!" said Lana. Gastrodon fires a ball of mud out of his mouth and it hits Skuntank, dealing super effective damage; some of the mud lands on Skuntank's eyes, obscuring its vision; Gastrodon coughs from his poisoning and loses energy.
"Skuntank, use Night Slash!" said Melli. Skuntank leaps at Gastrodon while glowing white claws retract from its paws and it slashes Gastrodon with them, dealing damage.
"Gastrodon, use Water Pulse!" said Lana. Gastrodon forms a blue ball of water in front of his mouth and he launches it at Skuntank, hitting it, and dealing damage; it begins to stumble around.
"Skuntank is confused." said Lisa. Gastrodon coughs and loses energy from his poisoning.
"Skuntank, use Venoshock!" said Melli. Unfortunately, confusion gets the better of Skuntank and it damages itself.
"Gastrodon, use Earth Power!" said Lana. Cracks form on the ground from below Gastrodon and they go towards Skuntank; gold energy erupts from the cracks and they hit Gastrodon, dealing super effective damage; Gastrodon loses more energy from his poisoning.
"Skuntank, use Venoshock!" said Melli. Skuntank fights through its confusion and sprays a stream of purple liquid from its mouth and it hits Gastrodon, dealing moderate damage.
"Gastrodon, use Tackle!" said Lana. Gastrodon leaps at Skuntank and rams it, knocking it to the ground with swirly eyes.
"Skuntank!" said Melli.
"Yay, Lana!" said Leni.
"You can do it!" said Lynn. Melli returns Skuntank to its pokeball; he puts it away and pulls another from his waist.
"Zubat, go!" said Melli, throwing a pokeball and releasing a Zubat. "Zubat, use Air Cutter!" Zubat flaps its wings and releases a white blade of energy from them and it hits Gastrodon, dealing damage.
"Gastrodon, use Ancient Power!" said Lana. Gastrodon becomes surrounded by white energy; it forms into a silver ball of energy and he launches it at Zubat, hitting it, and dealing super effective damage; Gastrodon coughs from his poisoning.
"Zubat, use Bite!" said Melli. Zubat flies at Gastrodon and bites him, dealing damage, and making Gastrodon flinch; he loses more stamina from his poisoning. "Now use Gust!" Zubat flaps its wings and releases a gust of wind from them and it hits Gastrodon, dealing damage; Gastrodon coughs and loses more energy from his poisoning.
"Gastrodon, use Water Pulse!" said Lana. Gastrodon launches another ball of water at Zubat and hits it, dealing damage; Zubat begins stumbling around dizzily while Gastrodon loses more energy from his poisoning.
"Zubat's confused now." said Luna.
"Zubat, use Air cutter!" said Melli. Unfortunately, confusion gets the better of Zubat and it damages itself.
"Gastrodon, use Tackle!" said Lana. Gastrodon leaps at Zubat and rams it, knocking it to the ground, unconscious.
"All right, Lana!" said Lynn.
"Yay, Lana!" cheered Leni.
"Keep it up!" said Luna. Melli returns Zubat to its pokeball and puts it away.
"You're doing quite well for someone so young." said Melli before pulling out another pokeball. "But you haven't beaten me yet; go, Skorupi!" He throws a pokeball, releasing a Skorupi.
"Gastrodon, use Mud Bomb!" said Lana. Gastrodon fires a ball of mud from his mouth and it hits Skrorupi, dealing super effective damage.
"Skorupi, use Venoshock!" said Melli. Skroupi releases a stream of purple liquid from between its mandibles and it hits Gastrodon, dealing moderate damage, and knocking Gastrodon out.
"Don't give up, Lana!" said Luna.
"You can still win!" said Lynn. Lana nods before returning Gastrodon to his pokeball.
"You were great, Gastrodon." said Lana. She puts Gastrodon's pokeball away and pulls out another one. "Go, Infernape!" She throws Infernape's pokeball and releases him. "Infernape, use Flame Wheel!" Infernape charges at Skorupi while a wheel of fire surrounded him and he rams into Skroupi, dealing super effective damage; fire covers Skorupi's body.
"Skorupi is burned." said Lisa; Skorupi flinches in pain from its burn.
"Skroupi, use Cross Poison!" said Melli. Skorupi leaps at Infernape while its claws glowed purple and he swings them in an X-shaped pattern, hitting Infernape, and dealing damage; it turned purple under Infernape's eyes.
"Infernape is poisoned." said Lisa. Infernape coughs and loses energy from his poisoning.
"Infernape, use Flamethrower!" said Lana. Infernape releases a stream of fire from his mouth and it hits Skorupi, dealing super effective damage, and knocking it out.
"Lana won!" said Lynn.
"I knew she could do it." said Lola.
"All right, Infernape!" said Lana as she runs to Infernape and hugs him. Melli growls before returning Skorupi to its pokeball.
"Let's make one thing clear; I didn't lose." said Melli.
"Pretty sure you did." replied Lynn.
"Your sister may have won, but there's a difference." said Melli.
"And what's that?" asked Leni.
"I just lacked...err...time." said Melli. "Yes, I'm afraid there simply wasn't enough time for me to raise my Pokemon nice and strong."
"What a lame excuse." said Lynn.
"Could this be why Adaman is always going on and on about time being a precious thing?" asked Melli. "My word, the Diamond Clan and almighty Sinnoh truly are never-ending founts of wisdom."
"So, what now?" asked Lucy from behind Melli, startling him.
"I guess you all want to know what pleases Lord Electrode so you can make some balms for it." said Melli.
"It would be of help to us all." replied Lisa.
"Well, I'm afraid I won't be able to help you." said Melli.
"Why?" asked Leni.
"Because I have completely forgot what Electrode likes." replied Melli.
"What?!" replied the Galaxy Team Survey Corps.
"What's the matter? Upset?" asked Melli.
"Well, yeah!" replied Lori.
"Too bad anger doesn't make balms." said Melli.
"Well it can help me punch your face in!" said Lynn, storming towards Melli while rolling up a sleeve.
"Melli's really giving you the runaround, isn't he?" the group hears Adaman call out; they turned to see Adaman walking over to them.
"Hi, Adaman." said Leni, blushing while waving at Adaman; he sees Leni and blushes.
"Hello, Leni." replied Adaman. "I should have told you and the rest of the Galaxy Team what Electrode likes; I apologize for not telling you all in advance."
"It's okay." replied Leni.
"So, here's the..." Adaman began to say.
"Adamaaan!" exclaimed Melli, interupting Adaman.
"What now?" asked Adaman.
"Are you really telling these kids what they need to find just like that!?" asked Melli. "Don't forget, you're the leader of the Diamond Clan; why are you bothering with these Galaxy Louts?!"
"Use your eyes, Melli." replied Adaman. "Haven't you even looked at your frenzied lord?" asked Adaman. "Don't you even feel a twinge at how it suffers, fighting to control the energy that's bursting out of it?"
"I see nothing but a Pokemon overcome with joy at being among almighty Sinnoh's chosen ones." said Melli. "Anyway, it's not like trials and suffering are always cause for doom and gloom; these things exist to help us grow."
"I'm sorry, Melli; I can't write off these frenzies as some trial from almighty Sinnoh." said Adaman. "That's why I'm doing the best I can to help out the Galaxy Team here ; this is bigger than what team or clan we belong to."
"So, what does Lord Electrode like, Adaman?" asked Leni.
"Lord Electrode needs not only Crunchy Salt, I was also going to give it to all of you." Adaman says to the Galaxy Team.
"Thanks, Adaman." replied Leni, making Adaman smile and blush.
"Now it's time to make some balms; would you all mind lending me a hand?" asked Adaman.
"Sure." replied Leni.
The Galaxy Team Survey Corps are preparing to quell Lord Electrode's frenzied state. Will they be able to do it? Wait and find out.
