Porto Marinada
After being unable to defeat the Quaking Earth Titan to get to the Herba Mystica to help Arven's Mabosstiff; the group exits the Asado Desert and begin to make their way to Porto Marinada in order to find the Cascarrafa gym leader, Kofu, to return his wallet to him as Lincoln's Gym Test.
"Stinks we couldn't get the Herba Mystica thing." said Lana.
"We just need to get our Pokemon stronger for the next time we take that Titan on." said Clyde.
"I hope we can beat it next time." said Leni. "I want to help Mabosstiff for Arven."
"Thank you, Leni." said Arven.
"Well, we can do some training on the way to Porto Marinada" said Lynn Jr.
"Good idea." Lucy says from behind everyone, startling them, making Nemona grab onto Lincoln, Leni leap into Arven's arms, and Penny wrap her arms around Clyde.
"What kind of Pokemon are around here?" asked Clyde; everyone looks around and quickly see a Pokemon that looked like a giraffe with a second, orb-shaped head on its tail. Lincoln takes out his Rotom Phone and points it at the Pokemon.
"Girafarig, the Long Neck Pokemon. Though very small, the brain in its tail is still considered an important organ because it emits powerful psychic energy." said Lincoln's Rotom Phone.
"Hey; doesn't Lisa's new friend, Darcy, like giraffes?" asked Lana.
"I think Lisa mentioned that she does have a stuffed giraffe doll." said Lucy from behind Lana, scaring her.
"You think she'd like this Pokemon?" asked Lincoln.
"Maybe." Lana replied.
"I'll battle it." said Lynn as she steps forward. "My Pokemon can use some battle experience."
"My Rotom Phone says that Girafarig is a combination of normal and psychic types; so bug and dark type moves would be effective against it." said Lincoln.
"I'll have my Pawniard battle it." said Lynn as she tosses a pokeball, releasing her dark and steel type Pokemon.
"And doesn't your Pawniard know Fury Cutter?" asked Penny.
"Good call." said Lynn. "Okay, Pawniard, use Fury Cutter!" Her Pawniard's hand blades glowed green as they slashed at the Girafarig, dealing super effective damage; it responds by turning its back to Pawniard, revealing its tail head that makes a startling face at her, making Pawniard stumble back and trip, not doing much damage, but the attack did make her flinch.
"That was Astonish." said Lucy.
"Good eye, Lucy." Nemona replied.
"I know my ghost moves." said Lucy.
"I believe that." said Lincoln. The Girafarig then stomps down onto Pawniard, driving her into the ground, not doing much damage.
"Pawniard, use Assurance!" said Lynn. Her Pawniard thrusts her blade hands forward, hitting the Girafarig, dealing double the damage it normally would've thanks to Pawniard taking damage before using it; the Girafarig stumbles back and trips, falling onto its side.
"Catch it, Lynn!" said Clyde. Lynn nods as she takes an empty pokeball from her pocket, winds up as if about to throw a baseball, and hurls it at the Girafarig, hitting it, and sucking it in; the pokeball wiggles a few times before clicking.
"Yeah! I caught a Girafarig!" said Lynn. As her newly captured Pokemon is sent to storage, she looks up its information on her Rotom Phone. "This says that Girafarig's a girl, she knows Tackle, Growl, Astonish, Power Swap, Guard Swap, Confusion, Assurance, Stomp, Psybeam, Agility, Double Hit; she has the Inner Focus ability which makes her immune to flinching and the effect of the Intimidate ability."
After that, Lynn uses her Rotom Phone to call up the Loud family that was still in Royal Woods.
"Hi, kids." said Lynn Sr.
"How are you all doing in Paldea?" asked Rita. Lynn then tells them about Lincoln's Gym Test, as well as their attempt at beating the Quaking Earth Titan that didn't go so well.
"I'm sorry that you all couldn't get that Herba Mystica for Mabosstiff." said Lynn Sr.
"Louds never quit, Dad." said Lynn Jr. "We just have to get stronger and try again."
"That's the spirit, Junior." said Lynn Sr.
"Hey, is Lisa there?" asked Lynn Jr; Lisa's face suddenly pops up in front of Lynn Sr's.
"Greetings, elder sister." said Lisa. "What do you need from me?"
"I just caught a Pokemon for that Darcy girl you're friends with." said Lynn Jr.
"Splendid." Lisa replied. "She's been very fascinated with Pokemon when she learned about their existence."
"I'm sending her over right now." said Lynn Jr as she uses her Rotom Phone to send Girafarig to the Loud house; Lisa goes to her room to retrieve the newest Pokemon to Royal Woods.
"I have obtained the pokeball." said Lisa. "I shall give it to Darcy tomorrow at school." After Lynn Jr tells the genius Loud sister about Girafarig, and the family talks for a while, they all end the call.
"Off to Porto Marinada!" said Nemona as she grabs Lincoln's and starts pulling him towards their destination while everyone else follows after them as Ronnie Anne glares at her.
Five minutes later, they all arrive at Porto Marinada, a bustling port city with a large marketplace.
"Whoa." said Clyde as he looks around at everything.
"There's sure a lot of people here." said Lana as she sees everyone holding out money and bidding on stuff.
"People come here for the auctions." said Arven. "This place offers up all sorts of rare objects from other regions."
"Like what?" asked Leni.
"Many kinds of pokeballs, hold and evolutionary items for Pokemon; I often come here for rare and fresh ingredients for my dishes." said Arven.
"We should check out what they got after my Gym Test." said Lincoln. "There could be stuff we might have use for."
"And speaking of your Gym Test; do any of you see Kofu anywhere?" asked Nemona.
"Where is it?!" a voice from nearby yells out, making the group look to see the Cascarrafa gym leader, running around while looking left and right.
"There's Kofu!" said Clyde.
"What's he doing?" asked Lucy.
"I think he's looking for his wallet." said Lincoln.
"Let's go return it to him." said Clyde as they all began to walk towards Kofu, only to be stopped by a young man with blonde hair, wearing a white shirt with orange stripes going down each sleeve over a black shirt, black pants, and black sandals with orange straps.
"Whaddya want?" the young man asked. "Ol' man Kofu's in the middle of some superduper important buyin'!"
"I need to get to Kofu so I can..." Lincoln began to say before he was interrupted.
"If yer thinkin' about tryin' to interrupt him, then I... his apprentice, will have to stop you!" said the young man revealed to be Kofu's apprentice.
"But I..." Lincoln began to say.
"Enough talk!" said Kofu's apprentice. "If you want to get to Master Kofu, then you'll have to beat me in a Pokemon battle!"
"Just do it, Lincoln." said Ronnie Anne. "You can get your Pokemon some more battle experience this way."
"Lincoln? As in Lincoln Loud?!" asked Master Kofu's apprentice.
"That's me." said Lincoln.
"I thought I recognized you; you're that trainer from Iono's videos that lots of people are talking about!" said Master Kofu's apprentice. "And those others with you are your friends and some of your sisters!"
"Wow; we're famous." said Lana.
"If I defeat you, then Kofu might make me the new Cascarrafa gym leader!" said Master Kofu's apprentice.
"Easier said than done." said Lynn.
"We'll see about that." said Master Kofu's apprentice. "There's a battle area right behind you." Everyone turns around to see that there actually was a battle arena in a large oepn area.
"Wow, this place has everything." said Lynn.
"Let us battle then!" said Master Kofu's apprentice.
"So what's your name?" asked Lincoln.
"My name is Hugo; the trainer who will defeat Lincoln Loud!" said Master Kofu's apprentice now identified as Hugo.
Lincoln and Hugo go to the battle area while the former's friends and sisters, along with lots of people who were in the marketplace, all gathered around to watch.
"Hey, is that Lincoln Loud?" a young boy asked.
"I think he is." said another boy. "He's the only kid I can think of with white hair."
"He looks cuter in person." a preteen girl with long blonde hair says as she gawks at Lincoln.
"I prefer Clyde." another girl with brunette hair says.
"All these people will see how great my skills are compared to yours!" said Hugo.
"How many Pokemon are we having battle?" asked Lincoln.
"Two each." said Hugo as he tosses a pokeball, releasing a Pokemon that looks like a larger Buizel with a bigger, deflated-looking, inner tube around its neck that hangs down its back.
"What's that?" asked Lana as she points her Rotom Phone at Hugo's Pokemon.
"Floatzel, the Sea Weasel Pokemon, and the evolved from of Buizel. With its flotation sac inflated, it can carry people on its back. It deflates the sac before it dives." said Lana's Rotom Phone.
"Let's see you beat my Floatzel." said Hugo.
"Ask and you shall receive!" said Lincoln as he takes a pokeball off his waist and tosses it, releasing his Pawmot.
"Use Quick Attack!" Hugo and Lincoln say at the same time. Both their Pokemon charge at each other at incredible speed and collide with each other; they try to overpower their opponent, and in the end, Pawmot was able to force Hugo's Floatzel back, knocking it to the floor.
"Pawmot, use Thunder Shock!" said Lincoln. His Pawmot releases a large jolt of electricity from her body that hits Hugo's Floatzel, dealing super effective damage and more thanks to her new Magnet; it starts to twitch.
"Floatzel's paralyzed!" said Clyde.
"That won't stop him!" said Hugo. "Floatzel, use Aqua Jet!" His Floatzel tries to attack, but paralysis stops him.
"You were saying?" asked Lynn with a smirk.
"Pawmot, use Slam!" said Lincoln. Pawmot brings her arms down onto Floatzel, driving him into the floor, and knocking him out.
"No way!" said Hugo.
"Nice one, Lincoln!" said Nemona.
"Keep it up, Lame-O!" said Ronnie Anne before glaring at Nemona who glares back at her. Hugo returns his Floatzel to his pokeball.
"You got lucky!" said Hugo, making Lincoln glare at him harshly, making Hugo recoil.
"Uh oh." said Lucy. "He used the L-word."
"He's doomed." said Clyde. Hugo shakes his head before he takes another pokeball off his waist and tosses it, releasing a blue shrimplike Pokemon with a claw that's larger than its other one.
"What's that?" asked Lana as she points her Rotom Phone at Hugo's second Pokemon.
"Clauncher, the Water Gun Pokemon. This Pokémon launches water by detonating gas inside its right claw. It snipes flying Pokémon." said Lana's Rotom Phone.
"Clauncher, use Aqua Jet!" said Hugo. His Clauncher propels itself at Pawmot, slamming into her, doing damage.
"Pawmot, use Charge!" said Lincoln. Pawmot begins gathering energy into herself, increasing her special defense.
"Clauncher, use Smack Down!" said Hugo. His Clauncher shoots a glowing orange orb out of its larger claw that hits Pawmot in her face, not doing much damage due to fighting types being resistant to rock type moves, and making her look up before slowly lowering her head to look at Clauncher who looked just as nervous as Hugo was right now.
"Pawmot, use Spark!" said Lincoln. Pawmot's body becomes covered in electricity as she runs at Hugo's Clauncher and rams into it, doing lots of super effective damage due to her Magnet, along with Charge's second effect of doubling the power of an electric type move used shortly after using it, and knocking Clauncher out.
"I... lost." Hugo said before he drops to his knees.
"That'll teach him not to mess with our bro!" said Lynn.
The group walks over to Hugo and gather around him as he looks up at Lincoln with a nervous look on his face.
"Word of advice; never say the L-word around Lincoln." said Ronnie Anne.
"I forgot about that." said Hugo.
"What's going on here?" Kofu's voice calls out, making everyone look to see him walking over to them.
"M-Master Kofu." Hugo says as he gets to his feet. "Lincoln wanted to meet with you about something."
"Lincoln?" Kofu replied. "As in Lincoln Loud?" He then looks at the white-haired Loud who was looking back at him. "You, and your friends and sisters, have a reputation!"
"You know it!" said Lana.
"So what did you need to see me about?" asked Kofu.
"You left this at the Pokemon League building back in Cascarrafa." said Lincoln as he reaches into his backpack and pulls out an object that Kofu immediately recognized.
"My wallet!" said Kofu as he grabs his possession out of Lincoln's hand.
"A staff member sent me to return that to you." said Lincoln; Hugo rubs his arm in shame.
"You... were trying to return Master Kofu's wallet to him?" Hugo asked.
"I tried to tell you, but you wouldn't let me." said Lincoln.
"My apologies." said Hugo with embarrassment.
"Anyway, I want to challenge you to a gym battle, and the staff member said that returning your wallet was my Gym Test." said Lincoln.
"Only I get to decide what the Gym Test is." said Kofu.
"Okay, then, I'm ready." said Lincoln.
Lincoln has met with Kofu and is ready to begin his Gym Test. What could it be? Wait and find out.
