On an ordinary afternoon at Tatsunagi Company, the idol agency buzzed with activity as staff members worked diligently to promote their idols and drive sales.
In a recording studio on one of the top floors, Kourin's voice resonated through the space, the sound blending seamlessly with the music. The blonde idol was in the midst of recording a new single for her solo career.
Donna toki mo My HOME
Kitto kimi no tame ni aru
Eien ni kimi dake no My HOME
Kourin sang into the recording mic, her hands adjusting the headphones as her trained voice filled the studio. Each note reflected the dedication she had honed during her years as a trainee.
As she poured her heart into the performance, the recording staff diligently monitored the music and her vocals. Nearby, Aichi, Kourin's manager, sat immersed in his own tasks, reviewing scheduled events and activities.
"Yes! Thank you very much! I'll schedule the meeting for 12:25!" Aichi said into the phone, bowing his head repeatedly as he spoke. "Thank you!"
However, his loud voice drew disapproving glances from the sound staff, who shushed him in annoyance.
"I-I'm sorry!" Aichi stammered, hastily excusing himself from the recording room.
"That guy sure is clumsy," one staff member remarked. "It makes me wonder how he even got this job." The others nodded in agreement, turning their attention back to Kourin as she wrapped up her new single.
Eien ni~ Kimi dake no My Home~!
Kourin sang into the mic, her hands adjusting her headphones as she finished her performance.
"Alright! That's perfect! Take a break, Kourin-san!" a voice crackled through the speaker. "After that, we can wrap up with your last single!"
"Okay." Kourin nodded, removing her headphones and combing her fingers through her hair. She headed toward the exit of the recording room.
As she approached the door, she bumped into Suiko, who was accompanied by Misaki.
"Oh, you were recording, Kourin?" Suiko greeted her.
"I was, but I'm on a break now," Kourin replied, raising an eyebrow at Misaki. "What brings you two here together?"
"My company and yours decided to form a quick duo team," Misaki explained.
"Our producers collaborated on a new song that needed both of us," Suiko added, holding up sheets of paper filled with the song's lyrics. "We're here to test it out."
"I see…" Kourin nodded just as they heard a commotion nearby. Turning, they spotted Aichi, who had stumbled over a trash can and was frantically picking up the spilled contents. Kourin sighed at the sight of her clumsy manager. "For heaven's sake, not a day goes by without that boy's antics."
"Give him a break, Kourin," Misaki said, glancing at Aichi. "During his time at my company, he only worked with male idols and singers. He's never worked with female idols before." She approached Aichi, offering her help while reassuring him, "It's okay," after he thanked and apologized profusely.
"Still think you want to switch with my manager?" Suiko asked Kourin as they watched Misaki comfort Aichi, who nodded in appreciation, a smile creeping onto his face. "Sure, he's clumsy at times, but he's really good at managing."
"He's only good when it really counts," Kourin replied with a shrug. "That's his only redeeming quality." She sighed again as Aichi received a phone call, panicking and dropping his papers once more. "Literally, that's his only good side."
"There's still time before we can do the switch," Suiko said with a smile, observing Aichi as he answered the phone while scrambling to gather his papers. "Let's see if he can adapt to the role."
Kourin looked at Suiko for a moment before shrugging and nodding.
"Fine by me," she replied, while Suiko sighed.
Some time later, in the company cafeteria, Kourin sat at a table by herself, absorbed in her music. Her headphones enveloped her ears as she mouthed the lyrics to her new song, practicing diligently to memorize the rhythm, beats, and words.
"Donna toki de mo… you are my home~" Kourin murmured, her right index finger tapping the table in time with the melody.
She continued to mumble the lyrics when Aichi rushed in, balancing a cup of coffee for her.
"Here's your espresso, Kourin-san." He presented the cup, and she paused her practice to take it. "I've ordered your regular."
Kourin examined the espresso, gently swirling it before taking a sip and sighing contentedly. "Good," she said, pausing her music before looking at Aichi. "So? What's first on my schedule tomorrow?"
"Y-yes!" Aichi replied, pulling out a notebook from his suit and scanning the pages. "Um! First, there's a meeting with the music producers for your new single, followed by a session with the production crew for your music video, and then a group fan meeting!"
"Is that all?" Kourin asked, taking another sip of her espresso. "are there any more events other than that?
"There's also a meeting with the company's new sponsor, Bio Beauty," Aichi said, focused on his notes. "They want to discuss their upcoming products that they'd like you to support when they're released next month."
"Bio Beauty…" Kourin whispered, recalling that it was the brand Suiko loved. She took another sip of her espresso before looking back at Aichi. "Inform Suiko to take my place for the meeting with the sponsor. Their products are her favorites, and I think they'd prefer her."
"Yes!" Aichi replied, rummaging through his suit for his phone. "I'll get right on it!"
Kourin watched him fumble for a moment, then sighed and took another sip of her drink. With a small shake of her head, she returned to her practice, turning her music back on.
That's a wrap!
