CHAPTER 8
In the Goblin Kingdom, Jareth had hired 40 bounty hunters to find Sarah and report back to him immediately. He told them if they touch her disrespectfully in any way that he would have their heads. He paid them and gave each one a crystal to communicate with him. They were sent out through a portal to find the dark haired green eyed fae woman.
—--
The next morning, she went down to get breakfast, but first she had made up several bags of jewelry and tied them to her belt at the back. She sat at the counter and two others that were elves had come already to eat and were eating at the tables. The innkeeper leaned down and said, "My name is Liam. Welcome to the city of Calafort (seaport). Can I get you breakfast and tea?"
Sarah smiled up at him and said, putting her hand out to shake his, "Yes. My name is Shara. Do you have honey?"
Liam smiled and said, "Sure I do, only for you, Shara. Eight coppers." She giggled at his flirting. He smiled, bringing her out a big mug of tea with a spoon and a jar of honey. He went back and got her a plate of eggs, meat of some kind, potato cakes with buttered biscuits and a jar of blackcurrant jam. She was in heaven but would miss coffee.
An elven man sitting at the table behind her said, "Liam. Why don't you never give me honey or jam or even biscuits today with my breakfast, but give it to that little fellow?"
Liam said, "Because, Dirk, the little fellow is paying me extra for it up front and not running a tab like you that may or not get paid by the end of the week." Sarah enjoyed her special treatment.
When he came back, Sarah asked, "Where can I find a market and a few jewelry stores, Liam?" He gave her directions to all three jewelers close by and the market.
Liam asked, "You are not from here are you, Shara?"
She said, "No, I talk funny and have odd ways because I came a long way to get here. It is far away, where I come from. I have no family anymore."
He felt sorry for the fae girl all alone from such a far distance. He thought her way of talking and politeness was odd like she said. Liam liked her and thought she had the most incredible green eyes he ever saw. After eating, she went out to the shops.
She came back twice to drop off coins. After locking up her room to go get lunch, she went out again and took her horse to locate all of the other jewelers in the city. There were seven. It was dinner time after she had gone to all seven jewelers and she spent the night packing up and reorganizing her things because the money, gemstones and nuggets.
—--
Over the next couple days, Sarah had found a magical bracelet in gold with a 50mm round white opal cabochon on it like a locket with a tiny gold key on a chain. It had an infinite space behind the opal on the bracelet to store small objects like her money, gemstones and gold or silver nuggets and anything that would fit. Sarah bought it for sixty gold coins. Another jeweler had an amethyst invisibility ring and an emerald luck ring. She bought them both for twenty nine more gold. She could feel the magic coming off of them.
—--
On her last day in Calafort, Sarah had stocked up on baked goods and dried or fresh fruit and vegetables. Sarah had a little bit of this and that and a bag of apples and carrots for her horse. Her weakness was for the breakfast cakes, candied nuts, cookies, pastries and some bread. She was packed up and reorganized. Throughout the week she had sold 12 bags of jewelry with 5 remaining of more expensive items and accumulated 10,369 gold coins. Sarah had 14,000 gold, 360 silver coins, 11 bags of cut gems, 5 bags of gold nuggets and 8 bags of silver nuggets all in her bracelet. She was going to have to wish to filter it out one thing at a time.
—--
Sarah got up to do her morning routine. She was dressed all in men's brown leather pants, a waistcoat, vest and boots. She wore one of her long sleeve tshirts in burgundy under the vest. Sarah had braided her hair and put it down her back. She had all her baggage rounded up.
Out of curiosity, Sarah made a wish, "I 'wish' for anything hidden that is not the owners, employees or patrons belongings to appear here on the floor." Four crates appeared in the middle of the room. She went through it all and found 11 large bags of gold coins, 7 small bags of cut gemstones, 5 medium size bags of gold nuggets, 9 medium size bags of silver nuggets, 4 books of spells and potions, and 10 boxes of antique magical jewelry. She could feel the magic coming from the boxes.
Sarah kept the 4 books, 10 boxes of antique magical jewelry, 7 bags of cut gemstones, 5 bags of gold nuggets and 9 bags of silver nuggets. She dumped the cut stones, and all of the nuggets into her bracelet. Sarah wanted Liam to have the bags of coins. She put her weapons belt with her hunting knife, coin purse, long sword on it with two knives in her boots. She put her cloak on with the hood up and went downstairs for breakfast. Sarah sat at a seat in the middle of the counter with two silver she would leave the rest for a tip.
Liam saw her and said smiling, "Hello, Shar. Ready for breakfast?" She nodded and smiled at him. He brought her honey and tea and a big breakfast with jam.
She said, smiling at him, "Liam, could you come to my room before I go?"
He asked curiously, "Sure. Is everything ok?"
Sarah said smiling, "Yes, I have something for you."
Liam nodded his head saying, "I'll have Rennie watch the counter then." She nodded and tucked in eating.
Afterwards, he followed her to her room and she whispered a wish to release the room so anyone could enter. She shut the door behind them.
Sarah said, "I have a special kind of magic and I found hidden things in your establishment that do not belong to you, patrons or employees. This showed up in your inn and I want to leave it for you as my gift. There are eleven bags of gold there. I want you to take it all to your room." Liam had his mouth hanging open looking at the eleven bags of gold. He spun around and grabbed her. He loosened his grip and kissed her on the lips.
Liam begged her, "Shar, stay and be with me. You made me a wealthy man. Your kind honest heart touches me like nobody ever has."
Sarah said touching his face and looking him in his eyes, "I can't stay. I 'wish' you true love, prosperity and a wonderful family to love you back, my sweet Liam. I know you will be happy now. Just do me a tiny favor and don't tell anyone that I was here."
The magic swirled and Liam kissed her again looking in her eyes. He whispered, "I promise I will never tell anyone asking that you were ever here." He couldn't believe she had the power of wishes and just wished him the best life ever.
She picked up a crate and so did Liam. They moved the four crates to his room and he locked it up. She went back and grabbed her baggage she had condensed. She had wished it all to be light. Sarah smiled at Liam who looked sad and said to him, "Smile for me, your lady will come along and I'll never forget you. You need a magical piece of jewelry to put all of that coin in so you can wear it and be safe."
Liam said misty eyed smiling at her, "Thank you, Shar. You are the best person I have ever met." She giggled. He kissed her and pulled her cowl hood forward. She walked down the street to the stable, saddled and packed up Valiant. Sarah headed out of the city. She was going to the elven capital city of Nadur (nature). There were two towns on the way and Sarah had to camp overnight for two nights. The first town is named Bláthsilíní (cherry blossom).
After about a couple hours of traveling, she spotted four men headed her way up ahead on horseback riding casually. She was on high alert so as not to trust anyone. Sarah had her knife in her hand under her cloak ready. She whispered to Valiant, "Be careful of these men if you sense danger snort." The horse snorted. Damn.
They eyed her as they passed her. She kicked her heels into Valiant and he took off like a whirlwind. Sarah heard their hooves and she saw them in pursuit. She wished, "I 'wish' for these four men's horses to stop and have the men frozen in the saddle." She stopped Valiant.
Sarah turned around and went back towards them. She wished they had to tell her the truth. They were shouting and swearing. She really was surprised at how many highwaymen prowled the roads in the Underground.
She asked, "What were your intentions towards me?"
One said, "Take your horse."
Another said, "See what you got on you."
Another said, "Have a little fun with you."
The last said, "Take everything and get rid of you."
She wished all of their valuables and weapons to be placed in two separate piles and the valuables to be in bags on the road. All of their personal items that were in their belongings started piling up on the road. She filled her one empty valise up and shoved the rest in her other bags to absorb it all and she had to tie several other bags to her saddle with rope. Sarah wished for them to be lightweight. She then wished these four men that if they committed another crime they would lose their magic permanently, they could be unfrozen and sent to the Pixie Kingdom scattered randomly from each other. The four men disappeared.
She took the weapons and wrapped them up in a blanket tied with rope. Sarah needed another horse. She mounted Valiant and rode on.
She had stopped for lunch and gave the horse a drink in her 'wished for bucket' that won't run out of water. There was a tiny cry of an animal of some kind off in the woods. The sound was unusual. She wished for a safe perimeter around her horse and went to investigate the sound. Sarah had her sword out as she adjusted to the change of light to dark. The darkness was dotted with tiny points of glowing green lights from everywhere it seemed. The moss was bioluminescent with tiny buds on it that glowed. She listened and heard the tiny cry again and found a dead creature laying on the ground looking like it was bleeding out. The blood was blue all over the ground. The creature was looking like a cat face and the head with small curved black horns in its forehead that went back away from the face and ears like a fox big and pointed. There was scrollwork on the forehead and back of the ears scrolling down its back bone and all over its haunches. The body was short haired like a cat with a long furry fluffy tail and long furry chest. It was beautiful with that black scrollwork pattern on its face, back and to its haunches. It was a darker golden yellow on the body but the fur was either cream or white in the green glowing light. The big paws were of a cat and it looked to be about thirty pounds. She checked for a pulse but it was dead. Sarah heard another cry. She crept along and found a big nest of sorts with woven branches and twigs made into a basket with a roof and a hole in the side. She put away her sword and got her flashlight out. In the nest were three little kits. Sarah was pulling them out one at a time because they were so little, like about a pound in her hand. Only one was moving around and Sarah tried to revive the tiny baby kits. She couldn't save the other two. The kit's eyes were not open yet.
She wished for a fur lined pouch to accommodate the kit. She put it in her pouch and went back to the horse waiting on the edge of the woods. She put the pouch strap around her neck and inside her cloak.
When she got to her horse, her horse was surrounded by two wolves nipping and growling fiercely. The horse was whinnying, snorting, stomping and moving from side to side. She shouted but the wolves wouldn't listen. Sarah took out her bow and shot one wolf in the ass cheek and it yelped running them both off. She didn't want to kill them, just wound one to get away.
Sarah put her bow away, mounted her horse and made a wish for a quart bottle of the kit's mother's milk. She made it so that it is always full and never spoils with a green secure lid and an eight ounce baby bottle with a very small nipple the right size for it. The bottles appeared in her hands. She pulled out the kit and started feeding it. It was a little girl as she could tell because her genitals were between her legs with no scrotum. When she was done, she put her back in the warm pouch after making her go to the bathroom on pieces of tree moss.
That evening, she made a campsite in the forest and was getting set up. She had got the horse comfortable and the tent up with everything inside of it. Sarah wished for a safe perimeter to secure them. She started a fire and was preparing a stew from her dried chicken meat with a bit of everything in it. She put her tea on to boil, filled the baby bottle to feed the kit.
Sarah went through all of the valuables from the four thieves on the road. She had 845 gold, 59 silver and 18 copper coins. There were 4 bags of jewelry, 3 large bags of gold dust, 2 medium bags of gold nuggets and 2 jewelry boxes of expensive jewelry. She had 14,840 gold and 420 silver coins in her bracelet.
That night, she slept with her little baby kit curled around under her neck in a huddled little furry ball keeping warm under three blankets, a cloak, a waistcoat and her bear fur coat.
