Welcome to the archive: I went doc diving again and found this alongside another.
Rook cursed whatever entity brought him to this god-forsaken city straight out of a Lovecraftian horror novel as he gunned down another one of these werewolves that had decided he was prey in this victorian street.
They were rather bullet spongey with the lower calibers so he decided it was better to bring out the heavier shit. He prodded the now-hopefully-dead creature with the barrel of his Military Rifle. When it didn't move besides a twitch he moved on while unloading the now-empty clip and loading in a new one.
Rook hadn't been here very long, only a few hours by his estimate, and he already missed San Andreas. This place was a nightmare spawned from the darkest pits of whatever horror author was writing in his mother's attic.
He had encountered several things that told him this place wasn't very developed compared to his time, the carriages that dotted the cobblestone streets sorta gave it away. Rook shook his head as he pulled out his phone and checked the radar app, which somehow still worked even though he was sure no satellites existed at this time.
He saw several red dots moving in groups around the corner from him, so he decided to take the bridge to his right. Rook kept his Military Rifle in his hands as he trekked across the bridge each step echoing with a clack against his sneakers.
Halfway across the bridge, an ear-splitting scream echoed through the air. Rook wasn't really bothered by the scream as his pain receptors stopped working years ago but he could feel blood seeping from his ears as it stained the Balaclava he wore under the Robo Mask.
Rook pulled his rifle up and aimed forward but kept moving forward. Unfortunately, the monster that made that scream decided to show itself as it leaped over the large gate blocking the way toward…wherever Rook was heading.
Rook rolled back as the thing took a swipe at him with its huge claw. Rook moved back until he was back near the middle of the bridge, and he finally looked at the thing in its entirety. Large and hairy with a large left arm compared to the right which seemed more boney.
In fact, the whole thing looked emaciated at least relatively compared to a normal human. Its ribs were sticking out and honestly, Rook just wished he'd taken his chances with the several red dots.
Rook brought the Military Rifle back up and fired, the creature screamed again while charging at Rook. The creature raised its hands up and tried to smash Rook but he rolled out of the way and reloaded as he moved back. Unfortunately, the damn thing was faster than Rook thought as it swiped at him with its smaller hand hitting him and sending him flying into a lamp post.
The force broke the lamp post and sent Rook bouncing across the cobblestone leaving a blood trail. Rook shook his head as he pushed himself up, he looked down and found his red blazer had been torn and the dress shirt underneath.
Rook just gave the monster an 'are you kidding me' gesture as it charged again. Rook switched his Military Rifle for the Combat MG MK II and lit the thing up. Blood shot from each bullet hole tore through the creature but it continued forward through the rain of bullets that tore through it.
Rook reached behind his back and tossed a Molotov as he continued firing at the monster. The cocktail smashed against the monster and lit it ablaze. It screamed in pain as it stopped its charge and began flailing around hitting the busted carriage and flinging it right at Rook.
Rook saw the carriage coming and attempted to get out of the way but the flying carriage clipped him in the arm sending him spinning to the ground. The monster, still ablaze, charged straight at Rook as he picked himself off the ground. It raised its left arm and slammed down onto Rook's back, causing him to cough up blood through the mask.
The beast wasn't done however and grabbed Rook in the same arm that just smashed him. It raised him in the air and brought him back down, slamming him into the cobblestone before flinging Rook into one of the stone rails with a crack.
The beast stalked toward Rook who brought out the Sawed-Off Shotgun and fired at the beast's eyes. The beast grabbed Rook and hoisted him up with its right arm squeezing lightly and making Rook throw up blood.
The beast gave one final squeeze and Rook's body squashed like a juicy grape. Blood flew out coating the beast's hand and some of its gray fur. The beast threw the mangled remains of Rook to the ground and screamed in victory and pain to the sky.
However, it failed to notice Rook's body flickering away leaving the blood pool as the only evidence it was there. Behind the beast the man it'd just killed walked back through the gate of the bridge and produced an RPG.
Rook pressed the trigger on the RPG and the rocket blasted toward the monster. The rocket soared through the air until it collided with the beast's chest. The explosion ripped through the beast's chest; blood, viscera, and fragments of the ribs fly through the air as the creature screams.
It stumbles to the side of the bridge, the blood and innards flowing onto the cobblestone. It trips on the sidewalk and falls into the stone railing crushing it beneath its body. It lay still, beside the occasional twitch.
Rook walks up to the beast and drops the RPG which disappears before it hits the ground. Rook looks at the monstrosity that killed him and takes out a Jerry Can, he undoes the cap and starts dousing the thing.
He moves around it dowsing it's corpse with the gasoline, matting its fur, and making the blood even darker. He stops when the sides are lined and moves away dismissing the Jerry Can and taking out the Pistol MK II.
Rook shoots the gas and begins walking toward the once-foggy gate blocking his path. He switches the MK II Pistol out for his Heavy Rifle and hopes he doesn't see another thing like that.
So what do you think?
