Ossified
Lusamine's first pokémon is not a pokémon when she receives it. It is a fossil.
It is known that fossils can be made into pokémon, but the process is not scientifically replicable.
Not yet.
But her father has a friend who an in with someone who can.
Until the day comes, she keeps her dome fossil with her, in her bag every day.
Then one day she gives it up, kneels on the cave floor, and waits.
She is not allowed to see the process, as much as she burns with curiosity. To know.
To perhaps even bring another such fossil pokémon to life, someday.
She can.
She will.
She must.
To restore to the world what has been lost. To keep the fragile balance of the beautiful environment she lives in. Alola.
That is the goal of Aether. The goal of her family.
And someday, her goal.
She kneels on the cave floor until she hears footsteps.
The revivification was a success. She has a Kabuto.
Of course she trains it. She also tries to breed it. After all, Kabuto is an extinct pokémon. Wouldn't it be something if she could bring it back!
So she tries. She evolves it into Kabutops.
She catches many pokémon to try to hatch a Kabuto with.
But in the end, all she is left with is a shell.
All Pokémon die in the end. And who could say how many years he had already lived before she revived him?
She hates it. The reminder that all pokémon will die.
No.
She's going to be a scientist.
Surely she can find an alternative.
She can.
She will.
She must.
