Meeting Plumeria
Lincoln's group heads off towards Route 9 to explore the area to see what it was like, and to prepare Lincoln's Pokemon for his Grand Trial tomorrow.
"I can't wait to see what Pokemon we find!" said Shiloh.
"Maybe there'll be some we would like." said Shelby.
As the group heads towards their destination, they reach the place called Memorial Hill where they see a lot of tombstones all around them.
"Lucy and her Morticians Club friends would love this place." said Lynn.
"Let's keep going." said Lincoln.
As the group head through Memorial Hill, Mallow was in thought about something with a frown on her face.
"What's up, Mallow?" asked Lynn.
"I'm guessing these graves remind you of your mother's back in the Hau'oli Cemetery." said Lincoln.
"Yeah." said Mallow. The group continues on their way through Memorial Hill when they hear the sounds of flapping wings around them, making everyone look to see Zubats flying all around them.
"What's with these guys?" asked Lynn.
"This is probably their turf." said Kiawe.
"Let's just get out of here." said Lincoln.
"You gonna run from a fight?" asked Lynn.
"Lincoln wouldn't want to risk doing damage to any graves." said Lillie as she remembers Lincoln's unwillingness to battle at the Hau'oli Cemetery.
"I can accept that reason, I guess." said Lynn.
The group quickly starts to run out of the cemetery with the Zubats in close pursuit; as they reach the edge of the cemetery, Mallow trips over a root that was sticking out of the ground and falls down, getting Lincoln's attention.
"Mallow!" said Lincoln. When he sees the Zubats nearing Mallow, he runs over and shields her with his body.
"Lincoln!" everyone else yells out.
"Golbat, use Air Cutter." said a female voice from nearby; several air blades come out of nowhere and hit the incoming Zubats, knocking some of them out. Everyone looks to see a young woman with pink hair with yellow highlights, wearing a black, sleeveless tank top, black baggy pants, and gray sneakers with a Golbat near her. The Golbat waves on of its wings, releasing a white energy blade from it and it hits the Zubats; they turned and flew away.
"Thanks." said Lincoln.
"Whatever." the woman replied.
"Who are you?" asked Shane.
"My name is Plumeria." said the woman now known as Plumeria. After a few moments, Lincoln stands up and helps Mallow up as well.
"Thank you, Lincoln." Mallow said before she kisses Lincoln on the cheek, making him blush a bit.
"Lincoln?" Plumeria replied. "The one that Rapp is always going on and on about?"
"How do you know Rapp?" asked Kiawe.
"I'm the second-in-command of Team Skull." said Plumeria, shocking everyone.
"You are?!" asked Mallow as she and the others get into defensive postures.
"Yeah." said Plumeria before she looks over at Lincoln. "You won't believe how crazy Rapp is about you, kid."
"How so?" asked Lynn with a smirk as she looks over at her brother.
"She's always talking about how cute he is, how brave he is, how she wants to kiss him all over his face; she even made this little stuffed doll of him that she cuddles all the time." said Plumeria, making Lincoln blush, and Mallow frown.
"Boy, she really likes you, cuz." said Shane with a grin. Plumeria then looks over at Mallow.
"And you must be the one that Rapp talks about." Plumeria says to Mallow.
"What does she say about me?" asked Mallow with a frown.
"She's also talking about some ugly, green-haired, girl who's always getting in her way when she wants to hug Lincoln." said Plumeria. "She has a crude drawing of you with warts, fangs, crossed eyes, that she puts on a dartboard at our hideout."
"She better not think about touching Lincoln!" said Mallow as she wraps her arms around Lincoln.
"Well, if you're a part of Team Skull, then don't think I'm gonna let you walk away without a battle." said Lynn Jr.
"What makes you think you're worth my time, little girl?" asked Plumeria.
"Watch who you're calling little girl; old lady." Lynn replied, making Plumeria glare at her.
"If you're willing to insult me for a battle, then I guess I can spare a few seconds to wipe the floor with you, brat." said Plumeria.
"About time, Granny." said Lynn.
"Let's give them some room." said Sophocles.
"Maybe we should battle away from the cemetery." said Lincoln.
"That's acceptable, I suppose." said Plumeria.
A few minutes later, the group were in an open field, with Lynn and Plumeria standing across from one another.
"How many Pokemon are we using?" asked Lynn.
"We shall each use two Pokemon." replied Plumeria. She looks at her Golbat. "I will start with Golbat." Lynn pulls out a pokeball from her waist.
"Kabuto, you're up!" said Lynn, throwing Kabuto's pokeball, and releasing him. "Okay, Kabuto, use Aqua Jet!" Kabuto becomes surrounded by water and he flies at Golbat, ramming into it, and damaging it.
"Golbat, Confuse Ray!" said Plumeria. Golbat forms six golden orbs of energy and launches them at Kabuto, hitting him; he begins stumbling around.
"Oh man; Kabuto's confused." said Lincoln.
"Won't let that stop us; Kabuto, use Scratch!" Unfortunately, confusion gets the better of Kabuto and he scratches himself.
"Golbat, use Absorb!" said Plumeria. Golbat flies at two red beams of energy from its wings and they hit Kabuto, dealing super effective damage while healing Golbat's wounds.
"Kabuto, try using Scratch again!" said Lynn. Kabuto snaps out of his confusion and leaps at Golbat, he scratches it, and damages it.
"Golbat, Poison Fang!" said Plumeria. Golbat flies at Kabuto while its fangs glowed purple and bites Kabuto but not dealing much damage; it turned purple under Kabuto's eyes.
"Kabuto's poisoned." said Sophocles.
"Kabuto, use Aqua Jet!" said Lynn. Kabuto becomes surrounded by water and he flies at Golbat, ramming into it, and damaging it; Kabuto loses stamina from his poisoning.
"Golbat, use Bite!" said Plumeria. Golbat flies at Kabuto and bites him, damaging him, and making him flinch. Kabuto coughs from his poisoning and passes out. "Well done, Golbat."
"Don't give up, cuz!" said Shane.
"You can do it!" said Shiloh. Lynn returns Kabuto to his pokeball.
"It's okay, Kabuto; we can train later." said Lynn. She puts Kabuto's pokeball away and pulls out another one. "Talonflame; you're up!" She throws Talonflame's pokeball and releases him. "Talonflame, use Ember!" Talonflame releases bits of fire from his beak and they hit Golbat, dealing damage; fire surrounds Golbat's body.
"Golbat's burned." said Kiawe.
"Golbat, Wing Attack!" said Plumeria. Golbat flies towards Talonflame and strikes him with its wing; Golbat flinches in pain from its burn.
"Talonflame, use Peck!" said Lynn Jr. Talonflame flies at Golbat and jabs it with his beak, knocking Golbat out.
"Great work, Lynn!" said Shelby.
"Keep it up!" said Lincoln. Plumeria returns Golbat to its pokeball; she puts it away and pulls another pokeball from her waist.
"Salandit, go!" said Plumeria as she throws her pokeball and releases a Salandit.
"Talonflame, use Peck!" said Lynn Jr. Talonflame flies at Salandit and jabs it with his beak, damaging Salandit.
"Salandit, Smog!" said Plumeria. Salandit releases a thick gray smoke from its mouth, and it hits Talonflame, damaging him; it turned purple under his eyes.
"Talonflame's poisoned!" said Mallow.
"Talonflame, use Razor Wind!" said Lynn. A whirlwind forms around Talonflame.
"Razor Wind takes a while for Talonflame to use." said Sophocles. Talonflame coughs from his poisoning.
"Salandit, use Dragon Rage!" said Plumeria. Salandit releases a blast of purple energy from its mouth, and it hits Talonflame. He flaps his wings and releases a strong gust of wind with white energy blades, and it hits Salandit. Talonflames coughs from his poisoning and loses stamina. "Now use Double Slap!" Salandit leaps at Talonflame and slaps him with its tail repeatedly; Talonflame coughs from his poisoning and begins to float towards the ground.
"Talonflame, use Flail!" said Lynn. Talonflame flies at Salandit and strikes it repeatedly with his wings, knocking Salandit out.
"Good thing Flail gets stronger with less stamina the Pokemon uses it has." said Sophocles.
"Way to go, Lynn!" said Shiloh.
"She did it!" said Shelby.
"You showed her, Lynn!" said Lincoln. Plumeria returns her Salandit to its pokeball. She walks over to Lynn.
"You should train your Pokemon harder if they're actually going to be a challenge to me." said Plumeria.
"I will." replied Lynn. Plumeria gives Lynn pokedollars and starts to walk away; but before she leaves, she looks back at Lynn.
"Be grateful that I was your opponent." said Plumeria. "Guzma would've crushed you in no time."
"Who's Guzma?" asked Lincoln.
"He's the leader of Team Skull." said Plumeria. "He will hear about what happened here." She then leaves the area, leaving everyone to themselves.
"Guzma, huh?" Lynn says.
"What Pokemon do you think he has?" asked Lincoln.
"Don't know." said Kiawe.
"We'll be ready if this Guzma guy comes after us." said Lynn.
"What now?" asked Lincoln.
"Let's head back to Konikoni City." said Lincoln.
"Yeah, I should get my Pokemon treated." said Lynn.
"I can train my Pokemon for my Grand Trial in the morning." said Lincoln.
"Yeah, I want to train up mine also in case we run into that Plumeria lady again." said Lynn.
The group then heads back through Memorial Hill until they reach Route 9 where an unwelcomed sight gets their attention.
"Hey, Larry!" Chandler calls out, making everyone groan.
"Alola, Chandler." said Lincoln with a frown.
"Did you miss me?" Chandler asked Lillie with a grin, making her cringe.
"So how did your Brooklet Hill Trial go?" asked Lynn.
"It took a while, mainly because he was whimpering while riding on Lapras, but he managed to pass." said Alola Lana with exasperation.
"That Pokemon was going too fast!" said Chandler.
"Lapras wasn't moving sometimes and you still cried." said Alola Lana, making everyone else smirk at Chandler.
"W-Whatever." said Chandler.
"Well, we're calling it a day." said Shane.
"Gonna spend the night at the Pokemon Center." said Lynn.
"Well, if Lillie wants to share a bed with me, then I'll gladly do that." said Chandler with a grin.
'She'd probably rather sleep on a Muk.' Lincoln thinks to himself.
The group, and Chandler, enters Konikoni City and head to the Pokemon Center where they all give the nurse their Pokemon; after that, they all have dinner, brush their teeth, and go to bed.
Lincoln's Grand Trial against Olivia will be tommorow. Will he be able to defeat her? Wait and find out.
Meanwhile, in a large house, in a rough-looking neighborhood, Rapp was in a bedroom inside, lying in a bed, cuddling a stuffed doll that looked like Lincoln.
"Good night, cutie." said Rapp before she kisses the doll on its mouth, throws one more dart at a dartboard with a drawing of Mallow on it, and goes to sleep.
