The Wayard Wailmer, and the Bullying Bruxish
It was night in the Alola Region, and a powerful storm was ripping through the area; near the Poke Pelago, a bunch of navy blue whalelike Pokemon with cream-colored bellies, were struggling against the out of control waves and strong currents; a large wave comes out of the water, forcing one of the Pokemon away from the rest of the group.
The next day in the Alola Region; Lincoln, along with his friends, family, and Chandler, were on the Poke Pelago, checking out what Lincoln and Chandler's Pokemon found in the Isle Aphun mine.
"What did you get, Lincoln?" asked Mallow.
"I got this blue, four-pointed rock, and this orange sun-shaped one also." said Lincoln as he shows everyone his Pokemon's finds.
"Ha!" Chandler responds. "That's gotta be the lamest thing I've ever seen."
"Obviously you never looked in a mirror before." said Shelby.
"Don't go judging by looks." said Mohn. "That blue rock is a Comet Shard; it's very valuable."
"How valuable?" asked Lynn.
"It can be sold for 25,000 pokedollars." said Mohn.
"WHAT?!" Chandler replied.
"Man, cuz's getting richer everytime his Pokemon find something." said Shane.
"What about the sun-shaped one?" asked Shiloh.
"It's a Sun Stone." said Mohn. "It can evolve certain species of Pokemon."
"Like what?" asked Lincoln.
"The only kinds of Pokemon in here in Alola that can evolve with the aid of a Sun Stone are Cottonees and Petilils." said Mohn.
"I got one of those." said Lincoln.
"Give it a try, Lincoln." said Mallow.
While Lincoln does a quick trade for his Cottonee, Chandler goes to his crate and sees what his Pokemon found; he sees a Big Pearl, and a rock that had what looked like a couple red shards.
"I can use the Big Pearl to make back some of the money I lost to my future brother-in-law yesterday." said Chandler. "But what're those red things?"
"Those are Red Shards." said Mohn.
"Don't look like they're much good for anything." said Chandler.
"They suit you then." said Shelby.
Back with Lincoln, he just got done trading his Trevenant for his Cottonee; he then lets her out of her pokeball and touches Cottonee with his Sun Stone, making her begin to glow.
"She's evolving!" said Shiloh. Everybody watches as Lincoln's Cottonee begins to evolve; when she was done, she had a brown body with arms and legs, green curled horns going down the sides of her head, orange eyes, a ring of white cotton around her neck, and a large thick mane of white on her head that almost reaches the ground.
"What is it now?" asked Lillie. Lincoln takes out his Rotom Phone and points it at the Pokemon.
"Whimsicott, the Windveiled Pokemon, and the evolved form of Cottonee. This nuisance sneaks into people's homes, where it hides important things and scatters cotton all over the place." said Lincoln's Rotom Phone.
"What are you going to do with her?" asked Mallow.
"Maybe I'll send her back to my home and let Leni look after her." said Lincoln.
"I'm sure she'd like that." said Lynn Jr. Lincoln uses Mohn's PC to exchange his Whimsicott for his Trevenant; he then takes out his Rotom Phone and uses it to call his family.
"Hello, son." said Lynn Sr after he answers.
"How's Alola, sweetie?" asked Rita.
"Still doing awesome." said Lincoln. "Is Leni there?"
"Hi, Linky." said Leni as she appears on the screen.
"I'm sending over a new Pokemon for you." said Lincoln.
"Yaay!" said Leni. Lincoln then turns towards the PC in Mohn's hut and uses it to send his Whimsicott over to the Loud house.
"I just sent it over." said Lincoln. Leni quickly runs upstairs to Lisa's room and gets the newest Pokemon; she lets it out and squeals with delight.
"She's, totes, adorbs!" said Leni as she nuzzles Whimsicott's cottony mane.
"She's called a Whimsicott." said Lincoln. After talking with his family for a bit, he ends the call.
"Should we head back to Melemele Island?" asked Alola Lana.
"Sure." said Lincoln. "But maybe I'll take a boat; I wouldn't mind a relaxing ride on one."
"Me, too." said Shelby.
"Sounds good to me." said Mallow. After Lincoln uses the PC to put Trevenant back on his team; everyone gets onto the boat that Chandler took to get to the Poke Pelago and start sailing back to Hau'oli City.
"Hey, Sophocles." Lincoln says to his Alola friend. "How's Grubbin doing?"
"I've been training him up a lot." said Sophocles. "I think he learned String Shot, Mud-Slap, and Bite."
"How much longer do you think it'll be until he becomes a Charjabug?" asked Shelby.
"I hope it's real soon so I can try doing a Charjabug Race." said Sophocles.
"I hope so, too." said Lincoln.
"Whatever." Chandler responds, prompting Lynn to punch him in the arm.
As they sail by a bunch of large rock spires, they hear the sound of something shouting out from them.
"What's going on over there?" asked Sophocles.
"Let's go see." said Lincoln.
"I have better things to do." said Chandler.
"Whatever." said Lincoln as he takes out his Ride Pager and calls for a bunch of Laprases to bring everyone over to the rock spires.
"I'm not letting my girlfriend go off without me." said Chandler before he asked the boat's captain to head for where the Louds and their friends were going.
When the group got close to the source of the shouting, they see one of the navy-colored whalelike Pokemon, trapped atop some of the rock spires.
"What's that?" asked Shelby. Lincoln takes out his Rotom Phone and points it at the Pokemon.
"Wailmer, the Ball Whale Pokemon. It swims along with its mouth open and swallows down seawater along with its food. It sprays excess water out of its nostrils." said Lincoln's Rotom Phone.
"The poor Pokemon." said Alola Lana.
"How did it end up like that?" asked Shelby.
"Must've been that storm last night." said Kiawe. Everyone then notices bite marks on the Wailmer's body.
"Looks like something was attacking it while it's trapped like that." said Sophocles.
"We should help it." said Lincoln.
"Yeah." said Lynn.
As the group tries to approach the Wailmer, something shoots out of the water and zips by Lincoln, startling him, and making him fall off his Lapras and into the water.
"Lincoln!" shouted his friends and family.
"Ha! Lame!" said Chandler from the boat he was on, making everyone glare at him. Lincoln pops up to the surface and looks around.
"What was that?" Lincoln asked. Everyone looks around and sees a Bruxish sticking its head out of the water.
"It's a Bruxish." said Alola Lana.
"What's it doing?" asked Shelby. The Bruxish turns towards the Wailmer and bites down on it.
"Hey!" shouted Lincoln. "Why are you attacking that Wailmer?!" The Bruxish turns towards him and sticks its tongue out at him.
"That was rude." said Lillie.
'I'm liking that Pokemon; it messes with Larry.' Chandler thinks to himself.
"We should teach that Pokemon some manners." said Lynn.
"Not to mention rescuing that Wailmer." said Alola Lana. Lincoln swims over to his Lapras and climbs back up onto it.
"What Pokemon should we use to take that Bruxish on?" asked Shiloh.
"Even though it's part water, we should avoid using electric attacks, considering we're on the water ourselves." said Sophocles.
"Yeah, we don't want to get electrocuted ourselves." said Lincoln.
"So grass type moves wouldn't be such a bad idea, since it's part water type." said Mallow.
"And it's part psychic type, so bug, ghost, and dark type moves would also be effective against it." said Lincoln.
"My Persian is part dark type, so I'll use her." said Shelby as she tosses her pokeball, releasing her Persian who perches herself on one of the nearby rocks.
"Good." said Kiawe. "Persian should also be able to handle any psychic type moves if that Bruxish knows any."
"Persian, use Feint Attack!" said Shelby. Her Persian moves to one side and suddenly vanishes; she then reappears and strikes the Bruxish in its side, dealing super effective damage.
"Nice one, Shelby!" said Shiloh. The Bruxish reacts by leaping out of the water and striking Persian with its tail while it was coated in water.
"That was Aqua Tail!" said Alola Lana. The Bruxish suddenly rockets out of the water and rams into Shelby's Persian, knocking it into the water.
"Persian!" shouts Shelby as she returns her Pokemon to her pokeball.
"That Bruxish is tough." said Lincoln.
"That won't stop us." said Lynn as she tosses a pokeball, releasing her Kabuto. The Bruxish glares at Lynn's Pokemon before propelling itself at him while covered in water, knocking Kabuto back.
"How strong is that Bruxish?" asked Mallow.
"It must battle a lot." said Kiawe.
"That won't stop us!" said Lynn. "Kabuto, use Absorb!" Her Kabuto latches onto the Bruxish and starts draining energy from it, healing some of his wounds.
"Nice one." said Lincoln. The Bruxish shakes the Kabuto off and bites down on Kabuto hard, dealing damage; Kabuto's shell cracks a bit.
"That was probably Crunch." said Alola Lana. "This Bruxish must be a high level one."
'I want that Pokemon on my team.' Chandler thinks to himself.
"Kabuto, use Mud Shot!" said Lynn. Her Kabuto launches a large glob of mud at the Bruxish, hitting it, and lowering its speed.
"That should slow it down." said Mallow. But Bruxish rockets out of the water and slams into Kabuto, knocking it out.
"No way!" said Lynn.
"Ha! Not so tough, is it?" asked Chandler, making Lynn hold a fist out towards him before she returns her Kabuto to his pokeball.
"Sorry, Kabuto; I'll train you harder soon." said Lynn.
"I'll take it down." said Lincoln. He then tosses a pokeball, letting out his Trevenant.
"Get it, Lincoln!" said Shiloh.
"You don't mess with a Loud and get away with it, Bruxish." said Lincoln, making the Pokemon spit water at him, making him duck.
"Teach it that lesson the hard way, bro!" said Lynn. Lincoln nods in response before focusing his attention back on the Bruxish.
"Trevenant, use Feint Attack!" said Lincoln. HIs Trevenant disappears, then reappears next to the Bruxish and slams her hand into it, dealing super effective damage; Bruxish responds by lunging at Trevenant and biting down hard on her, dealing super effective damage, and weakening her defense.
"Hurry and take it down, cuz!" said Shane.
"Trevenant, use Shadow Claw!" yells Lincoln. Trevenant's hand glowed with a dark energy as she slashes at the Bruxish with it, landing a critical hit, along with dealing super effective damage, and sends it flying into a rock spire where it slumps down into the water in a stunned state.
"That takes care of that meanie." said Shelby. All of a sudden, a pokeball flies by Lincoln's head and hits the Bruxish, hitting it, and sucking it in; the pokeball wiggles a few times before clicking.
"Yeah! Bruxish is mine!" Chandler yells out, making everyone look at the boat to see the red-haired jerk with his arm outstretched.
"Chandler!" shouts Lincoln.
"Thanks for the help, Larry." said Chandler with a smirk. "Now do me a favor and tell me about MY new Pokemon." Lincoln frowns before he takes out his Rotom Phone and uses it to look up Bruxish's information.
"This says your Bruxish is a boy, he knows Water Gun, Astonish, Confusion, Bite, Aqua Jet, Disable, Psywave, Crunch, and Aqua Tail; he has the Strong Jaw ability which powers up his biting moves." said Lincoln.
"Awesome." said Chandler as his new Bruxish's pokeball disappears to storage.
"How's Wailmer doing?" asked Alola Lana. Everyone looks to see Shiloh sitting on the whale Pokemon, spraying its wounds with a Super Potion.
"How do you feel, Wailmer?" Shiloh asked the whale Pokemon; the Wailmer gives a small smile and nods.
"Where did this Wailmer come from?" asked Lillie.
"Pods of Wailmers tend to travel across the Alolan seas." said Alola Lana.
"Where are this one's friends?" asked Sophocles.
"If I had to guess; this one got seperated during that storm last night." Alola Lana replied. "Too bad, this one is so young."
"Really?" asked Shiloh.
"Yeah." said Alola Lana. "You grow up with water Pokemon as much as I do, you pick up a thing or two."
"Should we help this Wailmer find its friends?" asked Shelby.
"We should." said Lincoln.
"Who's gonna hold onto it in the meantime?" asked Kiawe.
"Can I catch it?" asked Shiloh.
"If you want to." said Shane.
"That would help get it off those rock spikes." said Mallow.
"Wanna come with us until we find your friends, Wailmer?" Shiloh asked the whale Pokemon; the Wailmer smiles and squirms around with joy. Shiloh hops back onto his Lapras and takes an empty pokeball out of his pocket; he tosses it at the Wailmer, hitting it, and sucking it in; the pokeball wiggles a few times before clicking.
"Good job, Shiloh." said Lynn. Lincoln looks up Shiloh's newest capture as its pokeball disappears to storage.
"This says that your Wailmer's a boy, he knows Splash, Growl, Water Gun, Rollout, Whirlpool, and Astonish; he has the Water Veil ability which prevents him from being burned." said Lincoln.
"I'll exchange my Mantyke for him next time I'm at a Pokemon Center." said Shiloh.
"Why would you want some wimpy whale?" asked Chandler with a smirk, making everyone else glare at him; a smirk forms on Shiloh's face.
"What are you thinking, Shiloh?" Shane asked his little brother with a grin. Shiloh takes a pokeball off his waist and tosses it high into the air, releasing his Snorlax.
"SUPER MEGA CANNONBAAAAAAAAAALL!" shouts Shiloh as his Snorlax hits the water, making a very large wave of water head right at Chandler and wash over him, completely drenching him.
"Very funny!" shouts Chandler as everyone else laughs at him.
Later, back in Hau'oli City, Shiloh was at the Pokemon Center's PC, swapping his new Wailmer for his Mantyke.
"Welcome to my team, Wailmer." said Shiloh.
The group has saved a trapped Wailmer from a nasty Bruxish, and Shiloh and Chandler have new Pokemon. What else will happen as the Louds' Alola adventure continues?
