Ula'ula Island
It was Friday afternoon at the Pokemon School; Lincoln, his family and friends, and Chandler were outside having lunch.
"I wish the cooks at our school were this good." said Shiloh as he bit into some tropical fruit.
"Yeah." said Lynn as she ate some smoked meat. Shane looks over at Lincoln who wasn't eating, but writing something into a notebook.
"Aren't you hungry, cuz?" Shane asked his white-haired cousin.
"Can't concentrate on eating right now." said Lincoln as he was still jotting stuff down in his notebook.
"What are you doing?" asked Mallow; she looks over Lincoln's shoulder at what he was writing and sees two sections of notes; one was labeled 'Gladion' while the other was labeled 'Guzma'.
"Trying to figure out what Pokemon I should use against Gladion and Guzma in case I battle, at least, one of them at the Alola League." said Lincoln.
"Yeah, those two do seem pretty tough." said Lynn.
"What do you got, Larry?" asked Chandler.
"First, it's Lincoln." Lincoln replied. "And second, I'm going over what Pokemon I know each of those guys have."
"Well, we seen Gladion with that Umbreon, and that Zoroark he used to cream Chandler's Jolteon." said Lynn, making Chandler frown.
"And if what he said about his Zoroark's ability making him able to look like any Pokemon on his team, then he must have a Zubat." said Lincoln.
"What are you gonna use if you go against him?" asked Alola Lana.
"Well, my Lucario should have a type advantage against his Umbreon and Zoroark." said Lincoln. "But I don't know what other Pokemon that Gladion has, and exactly how strong all of his really are; and if he's as good as Hobbes says he is, then he may have strategies to handle opponents with type advantages."
"He does seem like a tough trainer." said Lynn as she blushes at the thought of Gladion.
"What about Guzma?" asked Kiawe.
"Only Pokemon I know he has is that Golisopod of his." said Lincoln. "I looked it up and know that it's part water and part bug; only Pokemon I would have with a type advantage would be my Rufflet and Lycanroc."
"And like you said, type advantages might not be enough." said Sophocles. "My Charjabug had that and it didn't do much good."
"I should definitely train up my Pokemon." said Lincoln. "Maybe there'll be some strong Pokemon I can battle against on Ula'ula Island."
"When are you heading over there?" asked Lynn.
"Right after school." said Lincoln.
"We'll come with." said Shiloh. Mallow looks away with a frown, which Lillie notices.
"What's wrong, Mallow?" asked Lillie.
"I have to give Chandler his Lush Jungle trial." said Mallow.
"Are you upset that you can't come with us, or that you have to be alone with Chandler?" asked Lynn.
"Little from column A, and a LOT from column B." said Mallow.
"Don't be surprised if Mallow wants to be my girlfriend after hanging out with me, Larry." said Chandler, making Lincoln glare at him while clenching his teeth.
"She won't." said Shane. "Pretty sure she has standards." Mallow nods before she looks at Lincoln and smiles at him, making him smile and blush in response.
"So where's the first Island Trial on Ula'ula Island at?" asked Lincoln.
"The Hokulani Observatory." said Sophocles. "I'm the Trial Captain there."
"Really?!" asked Lincoln.
"Yep." said Sophocles.
"We'll head for Ula'ula Island after school." said Lincoln.
"I'll be at the Lush Jungle giving Chandler his Island Trial there." said Mallow. 'And if he so much as touches me, I'll touch his eye... with my fist... fast and hard!'
"Catch up with us when you get done." said Lincoln. 'If Chandler does something to make Mallow uncomfortable I'll punch him in the gut so hard it'll make Lynn proud!'
"I'll take a Charizard over to the Lush Jungle and wait there." said Mallow.
"I-I'll take a boat to Akala Island." said Chandler, scared at the thought of riding a Pokemon.
'Good, the less time I have to spend with him, the better.' Mallow thought to herself.
Soon, the school day ends, and everyone heads for the Hau'oli City Marina where Lincoln, his family, along with Lillie, Alola Lana, Kiawe, and Sophocles, all get on a boat that was going to Ula'ula Island; while Chandler gets on one heading for Akala Island.
Lincoln uses his Ride Pager to call for a Charizard to bring Mallow to the Lush Jungle.
"Thanks, Lincoln." said Mallow.
"No problem, Mallow." Lincoln replied.
"Can we just get going?" Chandler asked impatiently.
"Fine." said Mallow. She hops on her Charizard and flies towards Akala Island with Chandler's boat following after her, while the boat everyone else was on heads for Ula'ula Island.
The boat sails for a little over half an hour until it docks at a port near a city.
"Here we are." said Alola Lana.
"So this is Ula'ula Island?" asked Lincoln.
"Yep." said Sophocles. "Where we are is a place called Malie City."
"I'm gonna look around the city for a while before it gets dark." said Lincoln.
"We'll join you." said Shelby.
The group begins to explore the area, seeing everything there is; such as all the restaurants, the clothing store and salon, and the local library.
As the group walks by the library, a girl with purple hair that had a clover-shaped hairclip in it, wearing a dress made of dark purple, black, and light purple patches, a gold armband on her left arm, and light purple sandals was looking through the bookshelves when she looks out a nearby window and sees Lincoln's group; she blushes when she sees the white-haired Loud.
'Who is that?' the girl asked herself.
A minute later, Lincoln's group soon enter a grassy area just north of the main city where they see a large facility that has garbage bags being brought into it.
"What's that place?" asked Lincoln.
"That's the Malie City's Recycling Center." said Sophocles. "All the trash here in Alola ends up here and is sorted by the workers and Pokemon here."
"I like how environmentally-friendly Alola is." said Shelby.
"It really is a nice place to live." said Lillie.
Lincoln looks around and sees a bag of garbage lying in the grass nearby.
"I should bring that to the recycling center." Lincoln says as he walks over to the garbage bag; when he grabs it to pick it up, it jumps away from him, surprising him and his family.
"What the?!" Lynn said.
"Is there something radioactive in there?!" asked Shane. The 'garbage bag' turns around everyone sees it has eyes and a mouth; streams of garbage were coming out the sides of it, acting as if they were arms.
"That's a Trubbish!" said Lynn. "Like the one that Team Skull loser has."
"I'll catch it for Lana." said Lincoln. "She'll definitely want that Pokemon."
"Do it, Lincoln!" said Shiloh. Lincoln nods before he tosses a pokeball, letting out his Lucario.
"Nice choice." said Kiawe. "Since Lucario is part steel type; poison type moves will have no effect on him."
"Lucario, use Bone Rush!" said Lincoln. Lucario puts his hands together and brings them apart with a bone made of light forming as he does; he holds it like a staff and swings it at Trubbish hitting it repeatedly, doing super effective damage. Trubbish reacts by spewing black sludge from its mouth that hits Lucario, but slides harmlessly off him. "Lucario, use Quick Attack!" His Lucario moves at the Trubbish at fast speed and rams it, knocking it onto its back. Lincoln quickly takes an empty pokeball out of his pocket and throws it at the Trubbish, hitting it, and sucking it in; the pokeball wiggles a few times before clicking.
"Woohoo! I caught Trubbish!" said Lincoln. As his new Pokemon was sent to storage, he looks up its new information on his Rotom Phone. "This says that my new Trubbish is a girl, she knows Pound, Poison Gas, Recycle, Toxic Spikes, Acid Spray, Double Slap, Sludge, Stockpile, Swallow, and Take Down; she has the Stench ability which could make an opponent she hits with a move flinch."
"Lana will definitely love that Pokemon." said Lynn. She hears rustling coming from the grass; she looks to see a furry, gray, chinchilla-like Pokemon. Lincoln, seeing the Pokemon, points his Rotom Phone at the Pokemon.
"Minccino, the Chinchilla Pokemon. A clean freak that will not allow even the slightest mess, it uses its tail like a mop to thoroughly clean any and all filth." said Lincoln's Rotom Phone.
"Aw, Lily would love this one." said Lynn before pulling out a pokeball. "I'll catch it for her; Hawlucha, go!" She thows Hawlucha's pokeball and releases him. "Hawlucha, use Karate Chop!" Hawlucha leaps at Minccino and karate chops it, dealing super effective damage; Hawlucha's eyes suddenly becomes hearts and he smiles widely at Minccino. "What's with Hawlucha?"
"Maybe that Minccino has the Cute Charm ability; has the chance of making a Pokemon that's the opposite gender of it that hits it physically, inflicted with the attract status condition." said Sophocles.
"So, this Minccino must be a girl." said Lincoln.
"Snap out of it, Hawlucha!" said Lynn. The Minccino jumps at Hawlucha and begins tickling him with her tail, making him laugh. "Is it tickling Hawlucha?"
"Must be the Tickle attack; it can weaken an opponent's attack and defense." said Sophocles.
"Hawlucha, nail that Minccino with Aerial Ace!" said Lynn. Unfortunately, Hawlucha couldn't bring himself to do it. The Minccino leaps at Hawlucha and slaps him repeatedly with his tail, damaging him. Hawlucha's eyes return to normal and he glares at Minccino. "Big mistake, Minccino; Hawlucha, Flying Press!" Hawlucha jumps up above Minccino with his wings spread apart and he lands down hard on Minccino, dealing super effective damage; Minccino laid on the ground, trying to get up.
"I think it's weak enough, cuz." said Shane. Lynn takes out an empty pokeball and throws it at Minccino, hitting it, and sucking it in; it wiggled a few times until it clicked.
"Oh yeah! I caught Minccino!" said Lynn. After Minccino's pokeball gets transported to storage, Lincoln looks up Minccino's information.
"I was right about Minccino being a girl, she knows Pound, Baby-Doll Eyes, Helping Hand, Tickle, Double Slap, Encore, Swift, Sing, and Tail Slap." said Lincoln. "Sophocles was right about Minccino having the Cute Charm ability."
"Let's head to the Pokemon Center and send Trubbish and Minccino to our house." said Lynn.
While the Louds and their friends were heading back to the Pokemon Center; somewhere on Route 8 on Akala Island, it was dark outside when Chandler was running down the road with a scared look on his face.
"I thought it would still be light out by the time I got this far." said Chandler. As he continues on, something jumps out of the grass and lands in front of him; Chandler stops and looks to see it was a Yungoos. Chandler quickly takes out his Rattata's pokeball and lets him out of it.
"Rattata, use Quick Attack!" shouts Chandler. His Rattata moves quickly at the Yungoos and rams it, knocking it onto its back; he then quickly takes out an empty pokeball and throws it at the Yungoos, hitting it, and sucking it in; the pokeball wiggles a few times before clicking.
"I guess I can use another Pokemon to find me more valuable stuff at the Poke Pelago place." said Chandler. (a/n: Yeah, a weasel for a weasel.) His Rattata lets out a breath before he freezes up and starts to glow. "Well, it's about time you evolved!" He watches as his Rattata evolves into a Raticate. "I'll ask Larry what you are next time I see him." The sound of a branch snapping nearby makes him let out a high-pitched shriek before he runs down the road towards the Pokemon Center with his Raticate running after him.
Back in Malie City at the Pokemon Center, Lincoln was just calling his family back in Royal Woods.
"Hi, son." said Lynn Sr.
"What are you up to?" asked Rita. Lincoln then gives his family an update on what he, Lynn, and their cousins have been doing since the last time they talked; including meeting Gladion and Guzma.
"I hope that Guzma person doesn't cause you any problems, Lincoln." said Luna.
"I'll try to be ready for him at the Alola League if I do go up against him." said Lincoln. "Anyway, Lynn and I are sending Lana and Lily each a new Pokemon."
"Yay!" cheered Lily.
"Yeah!" cheered Lana. Lincoln uses the PC to send Trubbish over to the Loud house first.
"I just sent Lana's new Pokemon over." said Lincoln. Lana runs upstairs to Lisa and Lily's room and grabs the newly arrived pokeball out of the Pokemon Transport Machine inside; she brings it downstairs and tosses it, releasing Trubbish.
"EWW!" said Lola. "It's a living bag of garbage!"
"COOL!" shouts Lana as she hugs her new Pokemon and inhales her odor.
"She's called a Trubbish." said Lincoln. Just then, Lana's Grimer comes down and starts hugging Trubbish as well.
"Figures that Grimer would like Trubbish also." said Lola as she pinches her nose shut.
Lynn then uses the PC to send Minccino over to the Loud house.
"I just sent Lily's Pokemon over." said Lynn.
"I hope it smells better than Trubbish." said Lori. Rita goes upstairs to Lisa and Lily's room and grab the pokeball Lincoln just sent over; she brings it downstairs and tosses it, releasing Minccino.
"And she's called a Minccino." said Lincoln.
"She's so cute!" said Lola. Lily giggles as she hugs her new Pokemon. Minccino looks around the living room at all the empty wrappers and snack boxes lying around; she then goes around picking it all up and giving it to Trubbish who stuffs it all inside herself.
"Why's Minccino cleaning our living room?" asked Luan.
"Minccino doesn't like messes." said Lincoln. The Louds watch as Minccino picks up all the trash, dust off the furniture, and fireplace mantle, plus using a bucket of soapy water, along with her tail like a mop, to wipe stains off everything; ten minutes later, the living room was sparkling clean.
"Spotless." said Rita with awe in her voice. Minccino then starts to clean off her tail.
"Son, can you send over another Minccino?" asked Lynn Sr.
"I'll do it tomorrow morning." said Lincoln. "It's starting to get dark out."
"Okay." said Rita. After that, the Louds end the call.
"Let's go get some dinner, everyone." said Lillie.
"Yeah, I can eat." said Lynn.
The Louds and company have arrived on Ula'ula Island. What awaits them as Lincoln's Island Challenge, as well as everyone's Alola adventure, continues?
Meanwhile, at the Route 8 Pokemon Center; Chandler was having dinner while Mallow just stares at him.
"When do you want to do your Island Trial?" asked Mallow.
"Tomorrow." said Chandler with his mouth full.
'At least it's just one more day, then I can join back up with Lincoln.' Mallow thinks to herself with a blush at the thought of being with the white-haired Loud again.
