Ghost Pokemon on Aisle Six
Lincoln, Lynn, their cousins, their Alola friends, and Acerola were outside Thrifty Megamart after Lincoln passed his island trial inside it.
"Well, Lincoln; now that you've passed all your trials here on Ula'ula Island, you just have to defeat Kahuna Nanu in his Grand Trial." said Acerola.
"Nanu; is that the kahuna here?" asked Lincoln.
"Yes he is." replied Acerola.
"So, where do I find him?" asked Lincoln.
"At the pier at Malie City." said Acerola.
"You think I can catch some Pokemon in the store first?" asked Lincoln.
"Sure." replied Acerola; she holds out a hand. "Good luck at your Grand Trial, Lincoln."
"Thanks, Acerola." replied Lincoln, shaking Acerola's hand. After breaking the handshake, Acerola walks away; once she was out of sight, she looks at the hand Lincoln shook and blushes with a wide smile on her face.
"I'm going back to Tapu Village to train my Pokemon." said Lynn.
"Okay, Lynn." said Lincoln.
"We're gonna keep her company, cuz." said Shane as he gestures to his younger siblings.
"I'll go with them." said Lillie.
"I'm gonna explore the beach near here and see if there's any water Pokemon I'd be interested in." said Alola Lana.
"I'll stick with you, Lincoln." said Mallow.
"Okay." said Lincoln. He then enters the Thrifty Megamart with Mallow following after him. The two begin to look around for some Pokemon for Lincoln to capture; a can falling from a shelf and onto the floor draws their attention in that direction.
"What was that?" asked Mallow. They soon see a Pokemon that looked like a gray cloth with light blue, dark blue, and yellow eyes; along with a hornlike protrusion coming out of the top of its head.
"You look like you could be a ghost type." Lincoln said to the Pokemon before he points his Rotom Phone at it.
"Shuppet, the Puppet Pokemon. It eats up emotions like malice, jealousy, and resentment, so some people are grateful for its presence." said Lincoln's Rotom Phone.
"This one would want to hang out with Lucy's goth friends." said Lincoln; he takes out a pokeball and tosses it, releasing his Rufflet.
"Since Rufflet is part normal type, he'd be immune to ghost type moves." said Mallow.
"Okay, Rufflet; use Hone Claws!" said Lincoln. His Rufflet begins to flex his feet, turning his talons red; he soon flares with orange energy which increases his power and accuracy. The Shuppet disappears, then reappears next to Rufflet and tackles him. "Rufflet, use Wing Attack!" His Rufflet swipes one of his wings at the Shuppet and hits it, sending it down to the floor; it gets up and fires beams of dark energy from its eyes at Rufflet that just go right through him.
"That must've been a ghost type move." said Mallow.
"Rufflet, use Aerial Ace!" said Lincoln. His Rufflet flies in a loop and towards the Shuppet before ramming into it, dealing damage. Lincoln then quickly takes an empty pokeball out of his backpack and tosses it at the ghost Pokemon, hitting it, and sucking it in; the pokeball wiggles a few times before clicking.
"You did it, Lincoln!" said Mallow as she hugs Lincoln, making him blush a bit. While the Shuppet's pokeball disappears to storage, Lincoln looks up its information on his Rotom Phone.
"This says that Shuppet is a girl, she knows Knock Off, Screech, Night Shade, Spite, Shadow Sneak, Will-O-Wisp, Feint Attack, Hex, Curse, and Shadow Ball; she has the Insomnia ability which makes her immune to the sleep status condition.
The two then decide to explore the market a bit more to see what other Pokemon lurked within.
Meanwhile, at Isle Aphun at the Poke Pelago, Chandler arrives on a boat. After reaching the shore, Chandler jumps off the boat and walks towards the mine where a crate was.
"Lets see what my Pokemon dug up." said Chandler. He looks into the crate and sees a Comet Shard and a Big Pearl. "All right! I'll be loaded again selling these" As he takes the Comet Shard and Big Pearl out of the crate, he sees what appeared to be a light brown, oval-shaped rock with a ring around it. "This must be another one of those fossils." He takes the fossil out of the crate. "Might at well take this to that guy who brings fossils back to life." After seeing the crate was empty (a/n: Like the inside of Chandler's head), he walks back to the boat and climbs aboard; it begins sailing away.
Back at Tapu Village, Lynn, her cousins, and Lillie were at a grassy area; Lynn was busy training her Pokemon.
Lillie suddenly hears rustling coming from the grass; she looks to see a bipedal, light blue armadillo-like Pokemon coming out.
"What's that Pokemon?" asked Lillie, pointing at the Pokemon.
"Don't know; wish Lincoln was here with that Rotom Phone of his." said Shane.
"I think I want this one." said Lillie.
"I'll help you catch it." said Lynn.
"It looks like an ice type." said Shelby.
"Hey, Passimian, get over here." said Lynn. Passimian nods before running over to Lynn. The light blue Pokemon sees them and goes into a defensive stance. "Passimian, use Bulk Up!" Passimian's body bulges and her attack and defense increases. The Pokemon does an aerial somersault and releases stars from its body and they hit Passimian, damaging her.
"Okay, Passimian, use Rock Smash!" Passimian leaps at the Pokemon while her arm glowed white and she smashes her arm onto the light blue Pokemon, dealing super effective damage, and weakening the Pokemon's defense. The Pokemon jumps into the air and rolls up into a ball; it rolls towards Passimian and rams into her, not dealing much damage.
"You think that was Rollout?" asked Shiloh.
"Maybe." replied Lynn. "But we won't let that stop us, right, Passimian?" Passimian nods in response. "Passimian, use Rock Smash again!" Passimian leaps at the Pokemon and smashes her arm into it, dealing super effective damage, and knocking the Pokemon to the ground.
"I think you can catch it now, Lillie." said Shane. Lillie takes out an empty pokeball and throws it at the Pokemon, hitting it, and sucking it in; it wiggled a few times until it clicked.
"Way to go, Lillie." said Shelby.
"Thank you for your help, Lynn." said Lillie as she picks up the Pokemon's pokeball.
"No sweat." replied Lynn.
"When we see Lincoln later on, we'll see what that Pokemon is that you caught." said Shiloh.
Meanwhile, at the Fossil Restoration Center, Chandler was waiting in front of the caravan, watching lights flashing out the windows. Seconds later, the door opens and the man who revives fossils walks out of the caravan, followed by a quadrupedal, yellow Pokemon with a dark gray, oval shaped metal cover over most of its face with eyeholes, and a black snout.
"Your Armor Fossil has been revived." said the man.
"So, what Pokemon is this?" Chandler said, looking at his new fossil Pokemon.
"This is a Shieldon." replied the man. "It's a boy, he's part rock, part steel, he knows Tackle, Protect, Taunt, Metal Sound, Take Down, and Iron Defense; he has the Sturdy ability which prevents him from being knocked out by the first attack of an opposing Pokemon."
"Nice." said Chandler. The man holds a pokeball towards Chandler.
"I've already put your Shieldon in a pokeball, Chandler." said the man; Chandler takes the pokeball and returns Shieldon to it; the pokeball vanishes and is transported to the Poke Pelago. Chandler then begins walking to the Pokemon Center on Route 8 to sell his Comet Shard and Big Pearl.
Back at the Thrifty Megamart, Lincoln and Mallow were continuing to search for other ghost Pokemon for Lucy and her friends.
While they were walking beneath a set of hanging ceiling lights, Lincoln hears some creaking coming from them; he looks up and sees some of the wires breaking and the entire fixture swinging towards Mallow who just notices this.
"Mallow, look out!" said Lincoln as he runs over to the green-haired girl, grabs her, and pulls her out of the way in the nick of time; as he moves backwards, he steps on a can that was on the floor, making him trip up and fall backwards and onto the floor with Mallow right on top of him.
"That was close." said Mallow.
"Are you okay, Mallow?" asked Lincoln
"Yeah." Mallow replied. "Thanks for helping me."
"I was glad to." said Lincoln. Both notice the position they were in and blushed heavily. As Lincoln shyly looks away, Mallow turns his face back towards her and looks lovingly into his eyes.
"Lincoln..." Mallow begins to say before she puts her hands on Lincoln's face and brings her lips towards his.
'Oh man, oh man, oh man.' Lincoln says to himself as his face turns red at what was about to happen; when the two's lips were about to touch, Mallow looks to the side and sees a Mimikyu looking right at them, startling her, and making her move away from it and off Lincoln.
'Dang it!' Lincoln and Mallow both think to themselves at the same time.
"It's a Mimikyu." said Mallow.
"Like Acerola's, only a different color." said Lincoln.
"Must be a regular one." said Mallow.
"I think I'll catch it for Lucy." said Lincoln. He stands up and pulls a pokeball off his waist; he then tosses it, releasing his Trevenant. "Okay, Trevenant, use Feint Attack!" His Trevenant disappears and then reappears beside the Mimikyu and strikes it with one of her hands; it didn't seem to do much except break the costume like what happened with the Totem Mimikyu.
"How come it didn't do any real damage to it?" asked Mallow.
"Once I catch it, I'll see if my Rotom Phone can give an answer." said Lincoln. The Mimikyu suddenly disappears before reappearing at Trevenant's side before striking it with its branch tail, dealing super effective damage.
"It must know Feint Attack also." said Mallow.
"Trevenant, use Shadow Claw!" said Lincoln. His Trevenant's claws were covered in a black energy as she swipes at the Mimikyu, this time dealing super effective damage and knocks it to the floor. Lincoln then takes an empty pokeball from his backpack and tosses it at the Mimikyu, hitting it, and sucking it in; the pokeball wiggles a few times before clicking.
"Good job, Lincoln." said Mallow. As the Mimikyu's pokeball disappears to storage, Lincoln looks up its information on his Rotom Phone.
"This Mimikyu's a girl, she knows Wood Hammer, Splash, Scratch, Astonish, Copycat, Double Team, Baby-Doll Eyes, Shadow Sneak, Mimic, Feint Attack, Charm, and Slash; she has the Disguise ability which allows her costume to take the first attack she's hit with for her." said Lincoln.
"That explains why the first attacks you hit that Mimikyu and Totem one didn't seem to do much." said Mallow.
"I guess so." said Lincoln.
Moments later, Lincoln and Mallow walked out of the Thrifty Megamart; Lynn, Shane, Shelby, Shiloh, and Lillie were outside waiting for them.
"How did it go?" asked Shelby.
"Caught a couple of ghost Pokemon." replied Lincoln.
"I'll bet Lucy and her friends would like them." said Lynn.
"I'm going to head over to the Pokemon Center and send them over to her." said Lincoln.
The group head over to the Pokemon Center; when they arrive, Lincoln uses his Rotom Phone to call his family.
"Hi, son." Lynn Sr said.
"Alola, Dad." said Lincoln.
"How are you all doing in Alola?" asked Luna.
"I just caught a couple of ghost Pokemon for Lucy and her Mortician Club friends." said Lincoln.
"Thanks, Lincoln." Lucy says from behind Lynn Sr, startling him. Lincoln uses the Pokemon Center's PC to send the Shuppet and Mimikyu over to the Loud house.
"The first one is a Shuppet; that one's for your friends." said Lincoln. "And the other one is called a Mimikyu; that one's for you."
"Wicked." said Lucy. After Lincoln tells his goth sister all about the Pokemon he just sent to her and talked with his family for a bit, he ends the call.
"What should we do now?" asked Shiloh.
"Lincoln; I caught a new Pokemon." said Lillie. "May you use your Rotom Phone to see what it is?"
"Sure, Lillie." replied Lincoln. Lillie takes out the pokeball she caught her new Pokemon with and tosses it, releasing the Pokemon. Lincoln takes out his Rotom Phone and points it at Lillie's newly caught Pokemon.
"Sandshrew, the Mouse Pokemon. After fleeing a volcanic eruption, it ended up moving to an area of snowy mountains. Its ice shell is as hard as steel." said Lincoln's Rotom Phone. Lincoln then uses his Rotom Phone to look up Sandshrew's information.
"This says your Sandshrew's a boy, he knows Scratch, Defense Curl, Bide, Powder Snow, Ice Ball, Rapid Spin, Fury Cutter, Metal Claw, Swift, Fury Swipes, Iron Defense, Slash, and Iron Head." said Lincoln. "He has the Snow Cloak ability which raises his evasion during hailstorms."
"Thank you, Lincoln." said Lillie.
"Let's grab some dinner." said Lynn after her stomach growls.
"Yeah, I can eat." said Lincoln.
"I could whip us up something." said Mallow.
"That would be awesome." said Lincoln.
Sometime later, at the cemetery in Royal Woods; Lucy was entering it and goes over to where her Mortician Club friends and sees them doing a seance with Drifloon and Sableye.
"Greetings, everyone." Lucy says to her friends.
"Hello, Lucy." Bertrand replied. Lucy takes Shuppet's pokeball out of her pocket.
"My brother has sent over a new ghost Pokemon for you all." said Lucy.
"Very good." Bertrand replied as he and the rest of the Mortician Club members walked over to Lucy and grab the pokeball from her hands; Bertrand tosses it, releasing the Shuppet.
"What is it?" asked Haiku.
"It's a Shuppet." said Lucy. "Lincoln told me it feeds on dark emotions." Shuppet then goes over to the Mortician Club members and begins absorbing something from them.
"Wicked." said Morpheus.
"And Lincoln sent me a new ghost Pokemon also." said Lucy as she takes out another pokeball from her pocket and tosses it, releasing her new Mimikyu.
"Interesting." said Bertrand.
"What's it like under the costume?" asked Persephone.
"I don't know." said Lucy. She picks up her Mimikyu and everyone looks underneath its outfit.
Moments later, the Mortician Club members set Mimikyu down with their eyes wide open from shock.
"That was creepy even by our standards." said Haiku. Everyone then got big grins on their faces.
"Boris likes Mimikyu." said Boris.
Lucy and the Mortician Club have gotten new ghost Pokemon. What else will happen as Lincoln's Alola adventure continues? Wait and find out.
