The Wallace Cup
At the Veilstone City Pokemon Center, the group was in the cafeteria, having lunch, while waiting for Stella and Dawn's Pokemon to be treated after their battles at the Veilstone Pokemon Contest. Stella was looking in her ribbon case at her three contest ribbons.
"Just two more ribbons and it's the Grand Festival for me." said Stella.
"So, little bro; any idea where you're going for your next gym battle?" asked Sam. Lincoln takes out a map from his backpack and looks at it.
"According to this, there's a gym in a place called Pastoria City." said Lincoln.
"Hey, guys." they hear a familiar voice call out to them. They look to see Zoey walking over to them.
"Hey, Zoey." said Dawn. Zoey sits on an empty chair at the group's table.
"I saw you two at the Veilstone Contest." Zoey says to Stella and Dawn. "Congratulations, Stella, for winning."
"Thanks." said Stella.
"Hey, Zoey; why didn't you compete in the Veilstone Contest?" asked Dawn.
"I was taking a break from contests." replied Zoey. "Are you two going to compete in the Wallace Cup?"
"Wallace Cup?" asked Stella.
"It's this annual Pokemon Contest that coordiators from all over the globe can compete in." said Zoey. "This year, the Wallace Cup is taking place right here in Sinnoh. Winner gets a ribbon called the Aqua Ribbon."
"Wow; where is the Wallace Cup taking place?" asked Dawn.
"At Lake Valor; it's south of here." replied Zoey.
"Hey, Lincoln; can we go there first before your gym battle in Pastoria City?" asked Stella.
"You know; Lake Valor is on the way to Pastoria City." said Zoey.
"Okay, we can go to the Wallace Cup." said Lincoln.
"Thanks, Lincoln." said Stella before kissing Lincoln on the cheek, making Dawn frown. She turned towards Zoey.
"When's the Wallace Cup?" asked Dawn.
"One week; gonna get ready for it?" asked Zoey.
"You bet." replied Stella.
"Oh, and the Wallace Cup lasts more than a day, so you all may want to reserve hotel rooms." said Zoey. "There's this place called Hotel Grand Lake; you should try reserving rooms there."
"Sounds good to me." said Dawn.
"See ya later." said Zoey as she walks off.
"Hey, Lincoln." Luna says to her brother.
"Yeah?" Lincoln replied.
"Since spring break is about to start in our dimension, maybe our family can come here and see the Wallace Cup in person." suggested Luna.
"We should call them and ask." said Lincoln. He takes out his Poketch and uses it to contact his and Luna's family.
"Hi, son." said Lynn Sr.
"How are you all doing there in Sinnoh?" asked Rita.
"We're doing great." said Luna. She then goes on to tell her family still in Royal Woods about the Wallace Cup.
"That sounds amazing." said Lori.
"We were thinking since spring break is around that time, you'd all like to come and watch in person." said Lincoln.
"That sounds reasonable." said Lynn Sr.
"It could be fun." said Rita.
"I wanna see those amazing performances up close." said Lola.
"We'll definitely come." said Lori.
"And we'll let Stella's parents know and see if they want to come also." said RIta.
"We plan on reserving hotel rooms for ourselves to stay in." said Luna.
"Sounds good." said Lynn Sr.
"Better get us something luxurious or else!" said Lola.
"We'll see what we can do." said Lincoln.
"And bring bottle caps to sell to make sure that we can pay for something that nice." said Luna.
"On it!" said Lynn Jr as she takes a bottle of soda, pops the cap off, and starts guzzling its contents.
"I'll go to the dump and start looking around for some!" said Lana as she runs out the front door.
"Wear gloves, sweetie!" Rita shouts to Lana.
"We'll see you all in a few days then." said Lincoln.
"Bye, kids." said Lynn Sr. They all end the call and the group in Sinnoh all start heading south towards Lake Valor.
"What should we do until the Wallace Cup starts?" asked Dawn.
"I'm definitely going to prepare for it." said Stella. "I'll probably train in the Grand Underground in the meantime."
"Maybe I'll train my Bellsprout." said Lincoln. "I don't know what type of Pokemon the next gym leader specializes in, and it wouldn't be a bad idea to have a large variety of types of Pokemon to use."
"Do what you feel is right, buddy." said Clyde. Lincoln looks over at Stella and smiles.
"Okay." said Lincoln before he turns Stella towards her and kisses her on the lips, shocking Dawn before she frowns.
"What was that for?" asked Stella. "Not that I'm complaining."
"Felt right." said Lincoln with a grin. He then goes over to the Pokemon Center's PC and trades his Espeon for his Bellsprout.
"Let's get going." said Sam. She grabs Luna's hand, making her blush and smile, and everyone exits the Pokemon Center and starts heading south out of Veilstone City.
Sometime later, the group heads to the Grand Underground to begin training for their upcoming events.
Lincoln focused mainly on his Bellsprout for today, having her battle Pokemon in an area with sand and rocks all over; he was currently staring down a Pokemon that looked like a small blue elephant with red bands over the edges of its ears, and one on its trunk. Lincoln holds out his pokedex at the Pokemon.
"Phanpy, the Long Nose Pokemon. It is strong despite its compact size. It can easily pick up and carry an adult human on its back." said Lincoln's pokedex.
"Okay, Bellsprout, use Growth!" said Lincoln. Bellsprout grows and her attack strength increases. The Phanpy charges at Bellsprout and rams her, knocking her back.
"Bellsprout, Vine Whip!" said Lincoln. Vines come out from Bellsprout's leaves and they strike Phanpy, dealing super effective damage. Phanpy rolls towards Bellsprout and rams into her, knocking her back.
"Bellsprout, use Knock Off!" said Lincoln. Bellsprout leaps at Phanpy and hits it with one of her leaves, knocking Phanpy to the ground. Lincoln takes out an empty pokeball and throws it at Phanpy, hitting it, and sucking it in; it wiggled until it clicked. "Yes; Phanpy is mine." Phanpy's pokeball vanishes and gets transported to storage; Bellsprout suddenly begins to glow.
"Whoa; Bellsprout's evolving." said Lincoln. Bellsprout began to change shape; when she stopped glowing, she now had a bell-shaped body with a brown stem on top, and a green leaf on each side of it. Lincoln takes out his pokedex and points it at his newly-evolved Bellsprout.
"Weepinbell, the Flycatcher Pokemon and the evolved form of Bellsprout. This Pokémon has the appearance of a plant. It captures unwary prey by dousing them with a toxic powder." said Lincoln's pokedex.
"Congratulations, Weepinbell." said Lincoln. Weepinbell smiles in response. Lincoln then looks up his new Phanpy's information. "This says Phanpy is male, he knows Tackle, Growl, Defense Curl, Flail, Rollout, Bulldoze, Endure, Slam, and Bulldoze; he has the Pickup ability."
At another cavern with grass and trees, Luna and Sam were facing a round Pokemon covered in purple fur, cream colored hands and feet, large red eyes, white antennae, and pincer-like mouth. Sam points her pokedex at the Pokemon.
"Venonat, the Insect Pokemon. Its big eyes are actually clusters of tiny eyes. At night, its kind is drawn by light." said Sam's pokedex.
"I got this one." said Luna, pulling out a pokeball. "Go, Ambipom!" She throws Ambipom's pokeball and releases her. "Ambipom, use Double Hit!" Ambipom leaps at Venonat and hit it with both of ther tails. The Venonat leaps at Ambipom and rams her, knocking her back.
"Ambipom, Fury Swipes!" said Luna. Ambipom leaps at Venonat and repeatedly scratches it with the hands on her tails, knocking Venonat to the ground. Luna takes out an empty pokeball and throws it at Venonat, hitting it, and sucking it in. It wiggled a few times until it clicked.
"Way to go, Luna." said Sam. Venonat's pokeball vanishes and gets transported to storage. Sam looks up Venonat's information on her pokedex. "Your Venonat's a dude, he knows Tackle, Disable, Struggle Bug, Supersonic, Confusion, Poison Powder, and Psybeam; she has the Tinted Lens ability, which doubles the power of moves that aren't very effective against an opposing Pokemon."
"So, if Venonat used Tackle on a rock type Pokemon, Tinted Lens will double the power of Tackle?" asked Luna.
"Yeah." replied Sam.
"Awesome." said Luna.
In the tunnels of the Grand Undergroud, Lincoln was using a mattock on a tunnel wall; after breaking a piece of the tunnel wall off, he sees a light green stone with a green leaf on it.
"Wow, a Leaf Stone; with this, I can evolve Weepinbell." said Lincoln. He takes out his Weepinbell's pokeball and tosses it, releasing Weepinbell. "Hey, Weepinbell; want to evolve?" Weepinbell hops up and down, happily. Smiling, Lincoln touches Weepinbell with the Leaf Stone and she begins to glow. Lincoln watched as Weepinbell began to grow; when she stopped glowing, she was bigger, her eyes were below her mouth, she had a big green leaf and a long, brown vine over it, and a leaf on each side of her body. Lincoln points his pokedex at his newly evolved Weepinbell.
"Victreebel, the Flycatcher Pokemon and the final evolved form of Bellsprout. In its mouth, it pools a fragrant nectar-like fluid. The fluid is really an acid that dissolves anything." said Lincoln's pokedex.
"Awesome; and this says you learned Leaf Tornado when you evolved." said Lincoln.
"Hi, Lincoln." said Stella as she walks to Lincoln.
"Hey, Stella." replied Lincoln. Stella notices Lincoln's new Victreebel.
"Wow, did your Bellsprout evolve?" asked Stella.
"Yep; she evolved into a Weepinbell, then I found a Leaf Stone and used it to evolve her into a Victreebel." said Lincoln.
"Wow, congratulations, Lincoln." said Stella, walking to Lincoln and kissing him on the lips.
"How are you two doing?" asked Sam as she, Luna, Clyde, Dawn, and Simon walked to Lincoln and Stella.
"Good so far." said Lincoln.
"Did you catch any Pokemon?" asked Stella.
"Yeah; Luna caught a Venonat." said Sam.
"Cool." said Lincoln.
"Have you been getting ready for the Wallace Cup, Stella?" asked Dawn.
"You bet, and I intend to win." said Stella.
"Same here; I won't go easy on you." said Dawn.
"Wouldn't want you too; it's no fun battling an opponent who's holding back." said Stella, smirking at Dawn who smirks at her back.
"Come on; let's go grab some dinner." said Lincoln.
"Good idea." said Clyde. Stella and Dawn each wrap an arm around one of Lincoln's and they walk down the tunnel while glaring at each other with Luna, Sam, Clyde, and Simon following them.
Will Lincoln win his next gym battle and will Stella or Dawn win the Wallace Cup? Wait and find out.
Meanwhile, back in Royal Woods, Lana enters the Loud house all filthy, making the rest of her family cover their noses and mouths.
"Did you find some bottle caps, Lana?" asked Lynn Sr.
"You bet." said Lana, taking out a sandwich bag full of bottle caps out of her pocket.
"Nice." said Lynn Jr.
"I also found this half-eaten hot dog." said Lana, holding up a half-eaten hot dog and eating it.
"GROSS!" exclaimed Lola.
