Rotom Bike Upgrade
The next day after Leni picks up her Pokemon from the nurse at the Circhester Pokemon Center, the group went to Bob's your Uncle for breakfast; after they finished eating, they left the restaurant. Moments later, they arrived at Route 9.
"You guys ready for our next badges?" asked Lincoln.
"Yeah!" replied the others. They started walking down Route 9 towards Spikemuth where their next gym battles await them; they also took the time to train their Pokemon.
Lincoln's Cinderace, Boltund, and Lycanroc got stronger, his Gyarados learned Thrash, his Alolan Sandshrew learned Hail, and his Lucario learned Dragon Pulse.
Clyde's Gallade got stronger, his Venusaur learned Double Edge, his Incineroar learned Thrash, his Urshifu learned Counter and Close Combat, his Flareon learned Scary Face and Flare Blitz, and his Liepard learned Night Slash.
Leni's Gardevoir learned Heal Pulse, her Tsareena learned Leaf Storm, her Ninetales got stronger, her Lopunny learned Bounce, her Seaking learned Megahorn, and her Glaceon Mirror Coat and Blizzard.
Lucy's Dusknoir learned Future Sight, her Gengar learned Shadow Ball, her Trevenant learned Destiny Bond, her Decidueye learned Feather Dance, her Jellicent learned Destiny Bond, and her Doublade learned Swords Dance.
Lana's Salazzle learned Venom Drench, her Stoutland learned Helping Hand, her Sandaconda learned Coil and Sand Tomb, her Garbodor learned Explosion, which she has no intention of using, her Seismitoad learned Hyper Voice, and her Excadrill Drill Run.
Luna's Gigalith learned Stone Edge, her Toxtricity got stronger, her Exploud learned Uproar, her Politoed got stronger, her Sharpedo learned Liquidation, and her Linoone learned Double-Edge.
Lola's Alolan Ninetales got stronger, her Primarina learned Moonblast, her Sylveon learned Psych Up and Moonblast, her Ribombee and Rapidash both learned Dazzling Gleam, and her Whimsicott got stronger.
Ronnie Anne's Blastoise learned Hydro Pump, her Luxray got stronger, her Lycanroc learned Scary Face, her Larvesta learned Take Down, her Sneasel learned Agility, and her Hawlucha learned High Jump Kick.
Sam's Meowstic learned Quick Guard, her Toxtricity got stronger, her Gastrodon got stronger, her Gourgeist got stronger, her Stunfisk learned Flail, and her Steelix learned Iron Tail.
"Boy, we're working hard, aren't we?" asked Ronnie Anne.
"Well, as the next Ballonlea gym leader, I need to get as strong as I can before Opal passes the torch to me." Lola said with pride.
"Yeah; we don't anything about the Spikemuth gym leader." said Lincoln.
"Except that his name's Piers." said Clyde.
"He doesn't do encores." said Luna.
"Which is why he didn't show up at the ceremony at Motostoke." said Lana. They took the time to make a fire with Cinderace's help and took a break. Lola's Alolan Ninetales and Ronnie Anne's Sneasel stayed far from the fire.
"You think we're ready for our next gym battle?" asked Leni.
"We've made it this far, and we trained our Pokemon hard." said Sam.
"We won't really know until we take on Piers." said Lucy from behind Leni, scaring her.
After resting for an hour, the group returned their Pokemon to their pokeballs and continued on their way down Route 9. They continued walking until they saw some familiar poeple up ahead.
"Hey, aren't those people part of Team Yell?" asked Lana, pointing at a male and female in Team Yell outfits.
"Yeah; and isn't that guy with them the guy who gave us the Rotom Bikes?" asked Ronnie Anne.
"I think he is." replied Lincoln.
"I'll bet Team Yell is bothering that guy." said Lola.
"Looks like they're bothering that Drednaw over there." said Sam, pointing at a Drednaw that Team Yell was nearby.
"There's no way we're letting you near Spikemuth." they hear the female Team Yell member yell. "And that means we can't let you go on Route 9!"
"It's Team Skull's duty to cheer on these lovely Drednaw!" said the male Team Yell member. "And we also get to stop people from headin' out over the water!"
"Guys; those jerks are trying to stop people from getting to Spikemuth." said Sam.
"Bogus; we need to get there for our gym battles!" said Luna.
"Excuse me." said Lucy from behind Team Yell, scaring them. The rest of the group run over to them.
"How does Lucy do that?" asked Sam.
"We've been trying to figure that out for years, but still haven't." replied Lincoln. The man who gave the group Rotom Bikes turned towards the group.
"Oh, it's you kids." said the man. "Do you remember me; I gave you all Rotom Bikes."
"Yeah; how could we forget?" asked Lincoln.
"They're amazing." said Clyde.
"You think one of you can do me a favor and teach these ruffians a lesson or two?" asked the man.
"I'll do it." said Lucy from behind the man, scaring him. The Team Yell members turned towards the group.
"It's our duty to protect Drednaw; and that means yer gonna need to give up on the Gym Challenge." said the male Team Yell member.
"Not going to happen." said Lucy from behind the male Team Yell member, scaring him.
"Looks like you need a convincin'; so how about a Pokemon battle?" said the male Team Skull member.
"Sure." replied Lucy.
"Hey, it's Marnie's boyfriend!" said a Team Yell member as he points at Lincoln, making him blush.
"Marnie's always thinking about you!" said the female Team Yell member.
"Lincoln's always thinking about her." said Lola, making Lincoln blush some more.
Moments later, Lucy and the female Team Yell member were facing each other. "So, how many Pokemon are we using?"
"We'll each use two." replied the female Team Yell member; she and Lucy each pull out a pokeball.
"Dusknoir, go." said Lucy, tossing her pokeball and releasing her Dusknoir.
"Linoone, go!" said the female Team Yell, throwing her pokeball and releasing a Linoone.
"Dusknoir, use Ice Punch." said Lucy. Dusknoir floats at Linoone while his fist glows light blue and he punches Linoone with it, dealing damage to it.
"Linoone, Night Slash!" shouts the Team Yell member. Linoone pounces at Dusknoir while black energy surrounds its front paw and it claws Dusknoir, dealing super effective damage.
"Dusknoir, Thunder Punch." said Lucy. Dusknoir floats at Linoone while fire surrounds his fist and he punches Linoone with it, knocking it out.
"All right, Lucy!" cheered Leni. The Team Yell member returns Linoone to its pokeball; she puts it away and pulls out another. "Pangoro, go!" She tosses the pokeball and releases a large, bipedal, panda bear-like Pokemon. Sam points her pokedex at the Pokemon.
"Pangoro, the Daunting Pokemon, and the evolved form of Pancham. Using its leaf, Pangoro can predict the moves of its opponents. It strikes with punches that can turn a dump truck into scrap with just one hit." said Sam's Rotom Phone.
"Pangoro, use Crunch!" shouts the Team Yell member. Pangoro charges at Dusknoir and bites him, dealing super effective damage, and lowering his defense.
"Dusknoir, Thunder Punch." said Lucy. Dusknoir floats at Pangoro while electricity surrounded his fist and he punches Pangoro with it, damaging it.
"Pangoro, Night Slash!" shouts the Team Yell member. Pangoro charges at Dusknoir while black energy surrounds its claws and it claws Dusknoir with them, dealing super effective damage.
"Dusknoir, Ice Punch." said Lucy. Dusknoir floats at Pangoro while light blue energy surrounds his fist and he punches Pangoro, damaging him, and encasing it in ice.
"Pangoro, break out and use Crunch!" shouts the Team Yell member; Pangoro remained frozen.
"Dusknoir, use Fire Punch!" said Lucy. Dusknoir floats towards Pangoro while fire surrounded his fist and he punches Pangoro, shattering the ice, and knocking Pangoro out.
"Yeah! Way to go, Luce!" said Luna. The female Team Yell member drops to her knees and returns Pangoro to its pokeball; she gives Lucy pokedollars.
"Let's get back to Spikemuth!" said the female Team Yell member.
"If you see Marnie, tell her I said hi, and I hope to see her soon." said Lincoln.
"You got it!" said the male Team Yell member as he and the female Team Skull member run away. The rest of the group and the man walk over to Lucy.
"Thank you for coming to my aid." said the man.
"No problem." said Lana.
"So, how are your Rotom Bikes?" asked the man.
"They're amazing." replied Lincoln.
"Let me thank you all by adding these parts to your Rotom Bikes." said the man, holding out a large case. "These parts will allow your Rotom Bikes to travel on water."
"You mean we can ride on water's surface like it's solid ground?!" asked Clyde.
"Exactly." said the man.
"Whoa, cool." said Ronnie Anne. Moments later, the man installed the parts onto all the Rotom Bikes.
"All done." said the man. "If you kids are going to Spikemuth, you need to go across this water and you should get there. Be careful not to fall in the water; it's really cold."
"Thank you, sir." said Clyde.
The group have gotten upgrades on their Rotom Bikes and can now travel to Spikemuth. What else awaits the group as their Galar journey continues.
