Welcome to the Jungle
Lincoln and Mallow exit the jungle where they meet up with their family, friends, and Chandler who run over to greet them.
"Nice one, cuz!" said Shane.
"Got yourself another Z-Crystal." said Lynn.
"Congratulations." said Shelby.
"CONGRATULATIONS CANNONBALL!" said Shiloh as he leaps at Lincoln while curling into a ball and slamming into him, knocking him to the ground.
"Big deal." said Chandler as he looks away.
"So what are you going to do now?" asked Shelby.
"I'm gonna start using the ingredients that Lincoln gathered to make my special dish for supper." said Mallow. "In the meantime, you can all go into the jungle to see what kinds of Pokemon are in there."
"Maybe I'll find a cool one for my team." said Chandler.
"I'm gonna train up my Pokemon a bit." said Shane.
"Me, too." said Shiloh.
"I think I'll find a Pokemon for myself." said Lillie.
"Really?!" Mallow replied with surprise.
"I never tried to catch one before, and everyone else seems to be having fun with them." said Lillie. (a/n: In this fanfic, Lillie isn't afraid of Pokemon.)
"Someone will need to help you battle a wild one to weaken it." said Kiawe. Chandler shoves everyone out of his way and runs over to Lillie.
"I'll help you catch one, babe." said Chandler with a grin as he puts an arm around Lillie's shoulder before leading her into the jungle, but not before Lynn punches him in the arm for shoving her and her family.
"Hope he doesn't do anything stupid." said Shane.
"That's hoping for WAY too much." said Mallow. "I'll get started on cooking."
"We'll help you out." said Alola Lana as she gestures to herself, Kiawe, and Sophocles.
"We'll meet back here in about an hour." said Lincoln.
"That should be plenty of time." said Mallow. As Lincoln and his family head into the jungle, he looks back at Mallow who was looking back at him; the two blush and shyly look away, which Lynn and the Loud cousins notice.
As the Louds enter the jungle, Lynn puts her hand on Lincoln's shoulder, getting his attention.
"Maybe next time, bro." said Lynn with a smile.
"Huh?" Lincoln replies.
"We were watching everything that happened during your trial." said Shane. "Everything." Lincoln blushes when he realized what his family was talking about.
"L-Let's just look for some Pokemon." said Lincoln.
Meanwhile, with Chandler and Lillie, they were walking through the jungle; as they do, they hear rustling coming from some bushes.
"What's that?" asked Lillie. She and Chandler look to see a brown, stag beetlelike, Pokemon with a pair of spiky pincers on top of its head. Chandler looks around and sees Lincoln and his family who caught up with them.
"Hey, Larry; what's that Pokemon?" asked Chandler, pointing at the Pokemon.
"It's Lincoln!" exclaimed Shiloh. Lincoln takes out his Rotom Phone and points it at the Pokemon.
"Pinsir, the Stag Beetle Pokemon. It gets into territorial disputes with Vikavolt. For some reason, it apparently gets along well with Heracross in Alola." said Lincoln's Rotom Phone. Chandler turned towards Lillie.
"You want this Pokemon, babe?" asked Chandler.
"No thanks." replied Lillie.
"Okay, I'll catch this one then; it looks cool." said Chandler. "Hey, Larry; what kind of Pokemon is this Pinsir?"
"One, it's Lincoln; two, Pinsir's a bug type; so flying, fire, and rock type moves should work on it." said Lincoln. Chandler pulls out a pokeball.
"Come out, Vullaby!" said Chandler, throwing Vullaby's pokeball and releasing her. "Vullaby, use Nasty Plot!" Vullaby glares at Pinsir and her special attack strength increases. The Pinsir runs at Vullaby, grabs her with its pinsirs, and throws her onto the ground, damaging her.
"Vullaby, use Gust!" said Chandler. Vullaby flaps her wings and releases a gust of wind from them, hitting Pinsir, and dealing super effective damage to it. The Pinsir runs to Vullaby and grabs her with its pincers; Pinsir begins to squeeze Vullaby tightly.
"Vullaby, use Pluck!" said Chandler. Vullaby's beak glowed white and she jabs Pinsir with it, dealing super effective damage, and causing Pinsir's grip on Vullaby to weaken, allowing her to escape; Pinsir falls to the ground.
"I think it's weak enough." said Lincoln. Chandler pulls out an empty pokeball and throws it at Pinsir, hitting it, and sucking it in; it wiggled a few times until it clicked.
"Yeah! Pinsir is all mine!" said Chandler. Lincoln looks up Chandler's Pinsir's information on his Rotom Phone.
"This says your Pinsir's a boy, he knows Vice Grip, Focus Energy, Bind, Seismic Toss, Harden, Revenge, and Vital Throw; he has the Hyper Cutter ability which prevents his attack strength from weakening by an opposing Pokemon's moves." said Lincoln.
"Sweet." said Chandler. Pinsir's pokeball vanishes. "Aw, man; I really liked Pinsir."
"Then exchange one of the Pokemon you have with you for him next time we're at the Pokemon Center, chump." said Lynn; Chandler frowns in response before returning Vullaby to her pokeball.
"Oh, look at that Pokemon." said Lillie. Everyone else looks to see a light green Pokemon with an orange face that had several flowers connected to it in a ring, near some flowers. Lincoln points his Rotom Phone at the Pokemon.
"Comfey, the Posy Picker Pokemon. It stretches sticky vines out from its head and picks flowers to adorn itself with. When it doesn't have any flowers, it feels uneasy." said Lincoln's Rotom Phone.
"I would love that Pokemon." said Lillie.
"I'll battle it for you then." said Chandler with a grin.
"Comfey's a fairy type, so poison and steel type moves should work on it." said Lincoln. Chandler pulls out a pokeball.
"Ekans, come out!" said Chandler, throwing Ekans pokeball and releasing her. "Ekans, use Leer!" Ekans glares at Comfey and her eyes glowed red, weakening Comfey's defense. A vine comes out of Comfey's body and it hits Ekans with it, but not doing much damage.
"Ekans, Poison Sting!" said Chandler. Ekans unleashes glowing purple needles from her mouth and they hit Comfey, dealing super effective damage; it turned purple under Comfey's eyes.
"I think Comfey's poisoned." said Shelby. The Comfey releases glowing green leaves from its body and they hit Ekans, but not dealing enough damage. Comfey coughs from its poisoning and loses some stamina.
"Now use Wrap!" said Chandler. Ekans wraps her body around Comfey and begins to squeeze it; Comfey passes out. Chandler takes out an empty pokeball from his backpack and gives it to Lillie. "Here you go, babe." Lillie takes the pokeball and tosses it at Comfey, hitting it, and sucking it in; it wiggled around a few times until it clicked.
"I caught a Comfey." said Lillie with a surprised look on her face. Lincoln looks up Comey's information on his Rotom Phone.
"This says your Comfey's a girl, she knows Helping Hand, Vine Whip, Flower Shield, Leech Seed, Draining Kiss, Magical Leaf, Growth, Wrap, and Sweet Kiss; she has the Triage ability which makes her healing moves recover more energy than it originally would." said Lincoln.
"Now what?" asked Shiloh.
"Let's look around the jungle some more." said Lincoln. The Louds split up and head to different parts of the jungle.
With Lincoln, he looks around for Pokemon to send to the Poke Pelago. As he searches through some bushes, he sees an orange, buglike Pokemon with two mushrooms on its back.
"What's this one?" asked Lincoln as he points his Rotom Phone at the Pokemon.
"Paras, the Mushroom Pokemon. Whether it's due to a lack of moisture or a lack of nutrients, in Alola the mushrooms on Paras don't grow up quite right." said Lincoln's Rotom Phone. Lincoln then takes his Torracat's pokeball off his waist and releases him from it.
"Torracat, use Ember!" said Lincoln. Torracat releases a stream of embers from his mouth that hit the Paras, dealing super effective damage to it; it responds by releasing a purple pollen from the mushrooms on its back that hit Torracat's face, making him look ill.
"Torracat's poisoned!" said Lincoln. "Hurry and use Scratch!" His Torracat runs at the Paras and swipes at it with his claws, knocking it onto its back. Lincoln takes an empty pokeball out of his backpack and tosses it at the downed Pokemon, hitting it, and sucking it in; the pokeball wiggles a few times before clicking.
"Yes, I caught Paras!" said Lincoln. He quickly takes an Antidote out of his backpack and gives to to Torracat to cure him of his poisoning. As Lincoln's new Paras' pokeball is sent to storage, he looks up its information on his Rotom Phone.
"This says my new Paras is a boy, he knows Scratch, Stun Spore, Poison Powder, Absorb, and Fury Cutter; he has the Effect Spore ability which could cause a Pokemon that hits him with a physical move to get poisoned, paralyzed, or just fall asleep." said Lincoln.
He looks around some more and sees a small tunnel at the base of a tree; out of curiosity, he crawls through it and arrives in a tiny, isolated clearing. He looks around and sees a green, round, disklike object that he recognized.
"Hey, it's a TM!" said Lincoln. His Rotom Phone flies out of his pocket and looks at the object.
"This appears to be a TM for the move Grass Knot." said Lincoln's Rotom Phone. "I can use TMs on your Pokemon if you'd like; just let me scan it."
"Okay." said Lincoln. He holds out the TM that his Rotom Phone analyzes; he then lets out his Phantump who looks around a bit.
"Would you like to learn how to use Grass Knot, Phantump?" Lincoln asked his Phantump who does a head tilt before nodding.
"This will take a few seconds." said Lincoln's Rotom Phone as a beam of green light comes out and hits Phantump's forehead; after a short while, her eyes widen in understanding.
"You okay, Phantump?" Lincoln asked his Pokemon; Phantump nods in response. After Lincoln returns his Phantump to her pokeball, he heads back through the small tunnel, and continues to explore.
With Shiloh, he was in another part of the jungle, watching his Eevee squaring off against a Trumbeak while he was standing on a large, moss-covered, rock.
"Okay, Eevee; use Bite!" said Shiloh. His Eevee runs at the Trumbeak and bites down on it, doing damage, along with making it flinch. "Now use Quick Attack!" His Eevee moves quickly at the Trumbeak, ramming it hard enough to knock it out.
"Nice one, Eevee!" said Shiloh. The rock that he was standing on started to glow, surprising him. "What's going on?" He then notices his Eevee was starting to glow as well before he started to evolve. Shiloh watches as his Eevee starts to change before his eyes; when he was done, his body was bigger, longer, a pale yellow color with some green growths coming out of some parts of his body; he also had brown feet, and green leaflike ears and tail.
"What's Eevee now?" Shiloh asked himself. "I'll ask Lincoln next time I see him." He hops off the rock and looks for his cousin.
With Lynn, she was exploring another part of the jungle when he hears some movement coming from the trees above her; she looks to see a bunch of simianlike Pokemon with white and black fur with leaves stuck to their shoulders, wearing coconut shells on their heads, tossing a coconut to each other. Lynn watches with interest.
"Are they doing a sport?" asked Lynn. She notices that half of the Pokemon had red leaves on their shoulders while the other ones had green leaves. She watches as two groups of the Pokemon toss, kick, and pass the coconut to one another; one of the Pokemon that had green leaves on its shoulders tosses the coconut to another green leaf-wearing Pokemon to a tree that had green leaves stuck to it who catches it, resulting in the other green leaf wearing ones cheer and dance while the red leaf-wearing ones sulked in response.
"Looks like the green team won... whatever they're doing." said Lynn.
"Hey, Lynn." Lincoln's voice calls out from behind her, making her look to see him walking over to her.
"Hey, bro." said Lynn.
"What are you doing?" asked Lincoln.
"Watching those guys." said Lynn as she points up at the simian Pokemon. Lincoln points his Rotom Phone up at them to see what they were.
"Passimian, the Teamwork Pokemon. They use their saliva to stick leaves to their shoulders. You can tell what troop they belong to from the position of the leaves." said Lincoln's Rotom Phone.
"What are they doing?" asked Lincoln.
"They were playing a sport." said Lynn with enthusiasm.
"I'll bet you wouldn't mind joining in." said Lincoln with a smile.
"You bet." said Lynn.
"Maybe you should learn the rules before you do." said Lincoln.
"Do you think Professor Kukui would know something about them?" asked Lynn.
"We can ask next time we see him." said LIncoln.
"Lincoln!" Shiloh calls out, making Lincoln and Lynn look to see him running over to them, followed by his newly evolved Eevee.
"What's that Pokemon?" asked Lincoln.
"My Eevee evolved." said Shiloh. Lincoln points his Rotom Phone at Shiloh's newly evolved Eevee.
"Leafeon, the Verdant Pokemon and the evolved form of Eevee. Although it doesn't like disputes, it will sharpen the leaf on its tail into a blade and fight if it has to protect its friends." said Lincoln's Rotom Phone.
"This says your Leafeon learned Razor Leaf when he evolved, and he now has the Leaf Guard ability which prevents him from being afflicted with status conditions during strong sunlight." said Lincoln.
"Whoa, awesome!" said Shiloh.
At another part of the Lush Jungle, Shane was currently facing a white, orangutan-like Pokemon that had purple fur going down its back that resembled a cape while it was holding a fan that looked like it was made from green leaves.
"Go, Trumbeak!" said Shane, throwing Trumbeak's pokeball and releasing him. "Trumbeak, use Pluck!" Trumbeak flies at the Pokemon while his beak glowed white and he jabs the Pokemon with it, dealing damage. The Pokemon holds its fan towards Trumbeak and it glows purple; Trumbeak gets thrown into a tree.
"Trumbeak, use Echoed Voice!" said Shane. Trumbeak lets out a loud yell and releases loud soundwaves from his mouth and they hit the Pokemon. The Pokemon holds out its fan and Trumbeak gets slammed onto the ground. He lets out another yell, releasing an even stronger soundwave that hits the Pokemon, knocking it to the ground. Shane takes out an empty pokeball and throws it at the Pokemon, hitting it, and sucking it in; it wiggled around a few times until it clicked.
"Yeah!" cheered Shane. "I better find Lincoln; he can use his Rotom Phone on this Pokemon so I can find out what it is."
Moments later, Shane was with Lincoln and Lynn while he lets his new Pokemon out of its pokeball; Lincoln points his Rotom Phone at it.
"Oranguru, the Sage Pokemon. It normally spends its time meditating in the treetops. It throws Poké Balls and gives other Pokémon orders as it pleases." said Lincoln's Rotom Phone.
"Okay, this says your Oranguru's a boy, he knows Confusion, After You, Taunt, Quash, Stored Power, and Psych Up; he has the Inner Focus ability which prevents him from flinching." said Lincoln.
"Welcome to my team, Oranguru." said Shane.
The group spends a little time, training up their Pokemon.
Lincoln's Rufflet learned Defog, his Phantump learned Will-o-Wisp, his Gyarados learned Aqua Tail, his Lycanroc learned Roar and Stealth Rock, and not only did his Torracat get a bit stronger, he starts to glow.
"My Torracat's evolving!" said Lincoln. His family, friends, and Chandler, all gather as Torracat starts to change; when he finished, he was an Incineroar.
"Awesome!" said Shiloh. Lincoln looks up his new Incineroar's information on his Rotom Phone.
"And this says my Incineroar is part fire and part dark types, plus he learned the move Darkest Lariat!" said Lincoln. Chandler stared at Lincoln's newly evolved Pokemon with a nervous look on his face.
Lynn's Crabrawler learned Payback, her Hawlucha learned Fling, her Machop learned Wake-Up Slap, her Fletchinder learned Razor Wind, and her Remoraid learned Focus Energy. During the training, her Makuhita began to glow.
"Hey, Makuhita's evolving!" said Lynn. Everyone watched as her Makuhita began to grow. When the glowing stopped, Makuhita resembled a sumo wrestler with dark blue hair on top of its cream colored head, narrow eyes, round hair, a cream colored upper body with large orange hands, a dark blue lower body with orange feet, and what appeared to be a yellow skirt around her waist. Lincoln points his Rotom Phone at Lynn's newly-evolved Makuhita.
"Hariyama, the Arm Thrust Pokemon and the evolved form of Makuhita. Although they enjoy comparing their strength, they're also kind. They value etiquette, praising opponents they battle." said Lincoln's Rotom Phone.
"Congratulations, cuz." said Shane.
Shiloh's Rockruff learned Rock Tomb, his Snorlax learned Body Slam, his Mantyke learned Wide Guard, and his Leafeon learned Grass Whistle and Magical Leaf.
Shelby's Meowth learned Feint Attack, her Sudowoodo learned Tearful Look, her Smoochum learned Sing and Heart Stamp, her Seel learned Rest, and her Flaaffy learned Take Down. During the training, her Eevee began to glow.
"Hey, now Eevee's evolving!" said Shelby. Everyone watched as Eevee began to grow; when the glowing stopped, Eevee was bigger, longer, had smooth, light purple fur, a red gem on his forehead, and a forked tail. "What's my Eevee now, Lincoln?" Lincoln points his Rotom Phone at Shelby's newly-evolved Eevee.
"Espeon, the Sun Pokemon and the evolved form of Eevee. Although it originally had no powers at all, people say its precognitive faculties were awakened by its need to protect itself." said Lincoln's Rotom Phone.
"This says your Espeon learned Confusion when he evolved and he now has the Magic Bounce ability which reflects moves that don't deal damage back at the Pokemon that used it." said Lincoln.
"So, if Chandler tried to have his Ekans use Leer on him, she'll end up weakening her own defense instead of Espeon's?" asked Shelby.
"Exactly." said Lincoln.
"Wow!" said Shelby.
Shane's Trumbeak learned Fury Attack, his Mareanie learned Toxic and Venoshock, and his Oranguru learned Feint Attack and Nasty Plot; and during Igglybuff's training, she started to glow.
"Igglybuff's evolving!" said Shelby. Everyone watches as Shane's Pokemon starts to change before their eyes; when she finished, her body was bigger, she had a curly, lock of hairlike growth on her forehead, her feet and arms were a bit longer, and she had triangular ears on her head.
"What is she now?" asked Lillie.
"Answer her question, Larry!" said Chandler.
"I was gonna do that anyway." said Lincoln as he points his Rotom Phone at Shane's newly evolved Pokemon.
"Jigglypuff, the Balloon Pokemon, and the evolved form of Igglybuff. Recordings of Jigglypuff's strange lullabies can be purchased from department stores. These CDs can be found near the bedding area." said Lincoln's Rotom Phone.
"This says she knows Play Nice, Disarming Voice, Disable, Double Slap, and Rollout now." said Lincoln.
Shane decides to train up his new Jigglypuff for a while and she soon learns Round, Stockpile, Swallow, and Spit Up.
After seeing Lincoln, Lynn, Shelby, and Shane's Pokemon evolve, Chandler became very motivated to get his Pokemon caught up.
Chandler's Rattata learned Assurance, his Tentacool learned Wrap and Acid Spray, his Ekans learned Screech and Acid, his Vullaby learned Flatter, his Jolteon learned Double Kick and Thunder Fang, and his Salandit learned Double Slap; also during Ekans' training, she freezes up and starts to glow.
"Sweet! My Ekans is evolving!" said Chandler.
"Wow, that's great." said Lynn in a sarcastic tone of voice while doing an eyeroll. Everyone watches as Chandler's Ekans starts to change; when she was done, she looked like a large purple cobra with two red and yellow markings that looked like eyes, and black markings that looked like eyebrows and a mouth.
"What is it now, Larry?" Chandler asked Lincoln, making him frown as he points his Rotom Phone at the newly evolved Ekans.
"Arbok, the Cobra Pokemon, and the evolved form of Ekans. The latest research has determined that there are over 20 possible arrangements of the patterns on its stomach." said Lincoln's Rotom Phone.
"This says she learned Crunch, Fire Fang, Ice Fang, and Thunder Fang after evolving." said Lincoln.
"I'll bet my Pokemon can crush any of yours, Louds!" said Chandler.
"Wanna bet?" asked Lynn. Just then, they smell something good coming from the jungle entrance.
"I think it's about time to eat." said Lincoln.
"You're all lucky I'm hungry, otherwise, I'd crush you all." said Chandler as he returns his Pokemon to their pokeballs and starts to exit the jungle, prompting everyone else to do the same.
When they leave the Lush Jungle, they see Mallow, Alola Lana, and Kiawe, all standing near a bubbling pot.
"Just in time, everyone!" said Mallow when she sees the group walking towards them.
"What smells so good?" asked Lincoln as he looks at the pot.
"It's my Super Mallow Special!" said Mallow. "I made it using the ingredients that you found during your trial."
Mallow then gets some bowls and pours her meal into them. Everyone tries some and their eyes widen with delight.
"This is awesome!" said Lincoln as he eats more of Mallow's cooking.
"Yeah!" said Lynn as she and the rest of them start to chow down.
"I admit this is good." said Chandler. As Lincoln eats, he notices Mallow looking at him with a smile and blush on her face, making Lincoln shyly look away with a smile and blush on his face.
"Bet Lincoln and Mallow wish they got a taste of each other's lips." Lynn whispers to her cousins, making them chuckle.
"Maybe next time." said Shelby.
After the group finishes their meal; they, except for Chandler, help clean the dishes. They all then head for the Pokemon Center to get their Pokemon treated. They all hung out for a while before going to bed.
The group have had a productive day, as well as some of Mallow's cooking. What else will they do as their Alola adventure continues?
