Sisters' First Battles
Lincoln, his sisters, and his friends make their way through South Province Area Three until they finally reached Artazon.
"Let's rest and hang out here for a while." said Lincoln.
"Okay." everyone else replied. Everyone goes off to look around; Lana sees the play area and heads over to it, Leni and Arven walk off together, Penny and Clyde do the same while looking around at all the sculptures that Brassius made, Lucy just finds a dark spot to hang around in, Lincoln and Nemona head over to the Sunflora Lawn, while Lynn starts running laps around the city.
With Lana, she was playing with some of the children when a girl walks over to her.
"Hey; are you a student at that Naranja Academy place?" asked the girl.
"You bet." replied Lana.
"You want to have a Pokemon battle with me?" asked the girl.
"Sure." replied Lana. Moments later, Lana and the girl were standing several yards from each other while the other kids watched. "So, how many Pokemon are we going to use?"
"We'll each use one." replied the girl.
"Sounds good to me." replied Lana. She and the girl each pull out a pokeball.
"Chewtle, go!" said the girl, throwing a pokeball and releasing a teal, turtlelike Pokemon with a dark blue shell with a brown trim, and an orange horn on top of its head. Lana takes out her Rotom Phone and points it at the Pokemon.
"Chewtle, the Snapping Pokemon. Its large front tooth is still growing in. When the tooth itches, this Pokémon will bite another Chewtle's horn, and the two Pokémon will tussle." said Lana's Rotom Phone.
"Go, Grimer!" said Lana, throwing Grimer's pokeball and releasing her.
"Eew; that Grimer smells gross." said Chewtle's trainer.
"I know; it's great, right?" replied Lana.
"Whatever; Chewtle, use Bite!" said Chewtle's trainer. Chewtle leaps at Grimer.
"Grimer, use Harden!" said Lana. Grimer glows white and her body shines, raising her defense before Chewtle bites her, dealing damage. "Whoa; that Bite attack looked strong."
"My Chewtle has the Strong Jaw ability; it powers up her biting attacks." replied Chewtle's trainer.
"Grimer, use Sludge!" said Lana. Grimer fires black balls of sludge out of her mouth and they hit Chewtle, dealing damage, and making her flinch. "Since we're talking about abilities, my Grimer has the Stench ability; that has a chance of making a Pokemon she damages flinch." It turned purple under Chewtle's eyes. "And it looks like your Chewtle's poisoned."
"Oh no!" yelled Chewtle's trainer. Chewtle coughs from her poisoning and loses energy.
"Grimer, use Pound!" said Lana. Grimer leaps at Chewtle and pounds her, damaging her. Chewtle loses more energy from her poisoning.
"Chewtle, Water Gun!" said Chewtle's trainer. Chewtle fires a stream of water from her mouth and it hits Grimer, dealing damage. "My Chewtle's holding a Mystic Water; that powers up her water type moves."
"No one gives my Pokemon a bath!" exclaimed Lana. "Grimer, Mud-Slap!" Grimer fires a stream of mud out of her mouth and it hits Chewtle, damaging her. Chewtle coughs from her poisoning and she collapses. "We win!" Grimer lifts her arms and cheers.
"That was amazing!" said a boy. Chewtle's trainer returns Chewtle to her pokeball.
"Don't worry, Chewtle; I'll bring you to a Pokemon Center." said Chewtle's trainer. She puts Chewtle's pokeball away and walks to Lana. "You're a good trainer."
"Thanks; maybe we'll battle again." replied Lana. Chewtle's trainer gives Lana pokedollars and walks towards a Pokemon Center.
At a place called Artisan Bakery, Arven was walking out of it with Leni, carrying bags of food.
"It's always best to keep stocking up on supplies so we won't get hungry on the way to the next Herba Mystica." said Arven.
"You really want to help your Mabosstiff." said Leni.
"You bet; Mabosstiff is my buddy, and I really want to help him get better." replied Arven.
"When I first saw how Mabosstiff looked before you give him that second Herba Mystica, it broke my heart seeing him the way he looked, so I really want to help him too." said Leni. Arven looked at Leni with admiration in his eyes.
"That's really kind of you, Leni." said Arven. He and Leni looked into each others eyes before continuing walking through Artazon. As they do, a teenage girl with blonde hair, wearing a light purple t-shirt, black skirt, and light purple socks under black sandals shoves Leni aside, knocking her to the ground, and looks at Arven, adoringly.
"Hey, handsome." said the girl.
"Uh, hi." said Arven.
"Want to go on a romantic walk with me?" asked the girl.
"I'm already with someone." said Arven, pointing at Leni as she stands up and glares at the girl that knocked her down; the girl looked towards Leni, then back at Arven.
"Trust me, honey; you can do so much better than that." said the girl.
"Excuse me?!" replied Leni, getting up from the ground.
"What; you got a problem with what I just said?" asked the girl.
"Totes." replied Leni.
"Want to do something about it with a Pokemon battle?" asked the girl.
"Like, sure." replied Leni. Moments later, Leni and the girl were in an open area, facing each other from several yards while Arven watches.
"We'll each use one Pokemon." said the girl.
"Fine by me." replied Leni. She and the girl each pull out a pokeball.
"Spoink, go!" shouts the girl, throwing a pokeball and releasing a gray, piglike Pokemon with a large pearl on top of it while it was bouncing on its curly tail. Leni takes out her Rotom Phone and points it at the Pokemon..
"Spoink, the Bounce Pokemon. Spoink will die if it stops bouncing. The pearl on its head amplifies its psychic powers." said Leni's Rotom Phone.
"I hope Spoink never stops bouncing." said Leni. Arven smiles at Leni's thoughtfulness.
"Vulpix, like, go!" said Leni, throwing Vulpix's pokeball and releasing her. "Vulpix, like, use Quick Attack!" Vulpix charges at Spoink and rams it, knocking it back, but it lands on its tail and continues to bounce, much to Leni's relief.
"Spoink, Psybeam!" said Spoink's trainer. Spoink fires a multicolored beam of energy from its pearl and it hits Vulpix.
"Vulpix, like, use Ember!" said Leni. Vulpix fires bits of fire from her mouth and they hit Spoink, dealing damage.
"Just so you know, my Spoink has the Thick Fat ability which lessens damage from fire attacks." said Spoink's trainer.
"Well, my Vulpix is holding a Charcoal; it powers up her fire attacks." said Leni. Fire surrounds Spoink's body.
"Looks like Spoink's burned." said Arven.
"Spoink, use Confusion!" said Spoink's trainer. Spoink's pearl glows light blue; Vulpix gets lifted up and thrown into a lamp post; she lands on her feet. Spoink flinches in pain from its burn.
"Vulpix, like, use Incinerate!" said Leni. Vulpix launches a fireball out of her mouth and it hits Spoink, knocking it back.
"Spoink, Psybeam!" said Spoink's trainer. Spoink fires another beam of multicolored energy out of its pearl at Vulpix.
"Like, dodge!" said Leni. Vulpix jumps up, dodging Psybeam. Spoink receives damage from burn. "Now use Quick Attack!" Vulpix charges at Spoink with incredible speed and rams it, knocking it out, but continued bouncing. "Like, way to go, Vulpix."
"That was great, Leni." said Arven. Spoink's trainer returns Spoink to its pokeball and frowns at it.
"Hey, Spoink did its best." said Leni.
"Whatever." replied Spoink's trainer. She gives Leni pokedollars and looks at Arven. "You sure you don't want to go for a walk?"
"No; I don't want to be with someone who's unkind to their Pokemon." replied Arven.
"Your loss." replied Spoink's trainer before walking away. Arven walks to Leni.
"Should we look for the others?" asked Arven.
"Totes." said Leni. She returns Vulpix to her pokeball and she and Arven begin looking for the rest of the group.
With Lincoln and Nemona, they were watching the Sunfloras play around when the staff member who was in charge of Lincoln's Artazon Gym Test notices him.
"Aren't you the young man who was here about two weeks ago?" asked the staff member.
"Yeah, that's me." Lincoln replied.
"Would you like to do another round of Sunflora Hide-and-Seek?" asked the staff member. "If you find enough Sunfloras, you'll get a prize."
"What kind of prize?" asked Lincoln.
"If you find ten, you'll get a Leaf Stone." said the staff member. "But if you manage to find twenty, you can get a Sun Stone."
"That sounds good, and could be fun." said Lincoln.
"I'll have the Sunfloras spread out all over Artazon." said the staff member. Lincoln closes his eyes while the Sunflora run off and hide; once they were all hidden, Lincoln and Nemona run off to find them.
With Lynn, she was in the middle of another lap around Artazon when a teenage girl with long red hair, wearing a white tank top, black leggings, and white sneakers with black soles and shoelaces; runs out in front of her, making Lynn skid to a halt.
"Hey, what are you doing?" asked Lynn.
"Are you a Pokemon trainer?" asked the girl.
"I guess I am." Lynn replied.
"Wanna have a Pokemon battle with me?" asked the girl.
"Sure." said Lynn. She and the girl find a wide open area and stand on opposite ends of it.
"We'll each use one Pokemon." said the girl.
"Sounds good to me." said Lynn. She and the girl each pull a pokeball off their waists; Lynn throws hers, releasing her Heracross, while her opponent tosses hers, releasing a bipedal Pokemon with a green mushroom cap on its head, a beige head with protrusions around its neck, an olive green body, small arms with red claws, along with matching toes, and a long beige tail with green orbs on the end of it. Lynn takes out her Rotom Phone and points it at the Pokemon.
"Breloom, the Mushroom Pokemon, and the evolved form of Shroomish. It scatters poisonous spores and throws powerful punches while its foe is hampered by inhaled spores." said Lynn's Rotom Phone.
"Okay, Breloom, use Mach Punch!" said the girl, making her Breloom rocket towards Heracross and punches him across the face, not doing much damage.
"Heracross, use Leer!" said Lynn. Her Heracross' eyes glowed red as he glared at the Breloom, making it nervous, and lowering its defense.
"Breloom, use Stun Spore!" said the girl. Her Breloom shakes its head, releasing a orange powder from its mushroom cap that sprinkles all over Heracross; he starts to twitch a bit.
"Shouldn't have paralyzed my Heracross." said Lynn.
"Why? Because now it's slowed down a bit and can't attack sometimes?" asked the girl. Suddenly, a red aura covers Heracross's body.
"That, and he has the Guts ability." said Lynn with a smirk. "Giving him a status condition only makes him stronger."
"Not much good it'll do if he can't attack!" said the girl.
"We'll see; Heracross, use Aerial Ace!" said Lynn. Her Heracross fights through his paralysis as his horn glows white with a blue aura covering it as he flies at the Breloom and strikes it, doing enough super effective damage to knock it out.
"Breloom!" said the girl.
"Yes! Lynn Loud for the win!" said Lynn, making the girl look at her with surprise as she returns her Breloom to its pokeball.
"Loud?" replied the girl. "Are you related to that Lincoln Loud boy I saw in Iono's Kitakami videos?"
"Yep." Lynn replied. "I'm his sister, Lynn Loud Jr."
"The luck girl?" asked the girl with a frown, making Lynn cringe.
"Don't remind me." said Lynn with shame.
"Well, if you're that good with battling Pokemon on your own, then maybe you don't need luck; it's just a weak substitute for actual skill and talent." said the girl.
"Yeah, I suppose that is true." said Lynn as she smiles a bit. The girl writes something on a slip of paper and hands it, along with some pokedollars, to Lynn.
"Could you give that piece of paper to your brother?" asked the girl.
"What is it?" asked Lynn as she looks at what was written to see a phone number on it.
"That's my Rotom Phone number." said the girl. "I think your brother's cute." The girl runs off, leaving Lynn with shock on her face.
"Hope Nemona, Carmine, that Coral girl, and Iono don't find out about her." said Lynn before she returns her Heracross to his pokeball and continues jogging.
With Lucy, she finds a dark alley and sits down to meditate; as she does, a boy with black hair, wearing a black leather vest over a white t-shirt, black pants and shoes, enters the alley.
"Hey, little girl." said the boy, snapping Lucy out of her trance and look at him.
"What do you want?" asked Lucy.
"This is my spot." said the boy.
"There's enough room for both of us." said Lucy.
"I like to have this place to myself." said the boy.
"Whatever." said Lucy.
"How about a Pokemon battle?" asked the boy. "I win, you leave; you win, then you can stay."
"Okay." said Lucy.
"We'll each use one Pokemon." said the boy. The two trainers each take a pokeball off their waists; Lucy tosses hers, releasing her Greavard; while her opponent tosses his, releasing a black snakelike Pokemo with yellow hexagons on its back, large red fangs, and a bladelike protrusion on the end of its tail. Lucy points her Rotom Phone at the Pokemon.
"Seviper, the Fang Snake Pokemon. It sharpens its swordlike tail on hard rocks. It hides in tall grass and strikes unwary prey with venomous fangs." said Lucy's Rotom Phone.
"Greavard, use Leer." said Lucy. A glowing light emanates from behind the fur in front of Greavard's eyes, making Seviper nervous, and lowering its defense.
"Seviper, use Bite!" said the boy. Seviper moves at Greavard and bites down on her, dealing super effective damage, and making her flinch. "Now use Poison Tail!" His Seviper's blade tail glowed purple as it slashes Greavard, not doing much damage to her.
"Greavard, use Dig." said Lucy. Her Greavard tunnels into the ground while the boy looks around for her.
"Where is it hiding?!" asked the boy. Suddenly, Greavard shoots up out of the ground and rams into Seviper's belly, dealing super effective damage. "Seviper, use Bite again!" His Seviper moves at Greavard and bites her again, dealing super effective damage.
"Greavard, use Headbutt." said Lucy. Her Greavard runs at the Seviper and rams her head into her opponent's forehead, dealing damage, and making it flinch. "Use Bite." Her Greavard bites down on Seviper's body, dealing enough damage to knock it out.
"No way!" said the boy. He returns his Seviper to its pokeball and looks at it.
"I won." Lucy said from besides the boy, startling him.
"You're one creepy girl." said the boy.
"Thanks." said Lucy. After the boy gives her pokedollars and runs off screaming, Lucy returns her Greavard to her pokeball and goes off to find her family and friends.
With Lincoln and Nemona, they spent twenty minutes looking around Artazon for Sunfloras and have managed to find twenty of them.
"That's enough to earn the Sun Stone." said Lincoln.
"Let's head back to the Sunflora Lawn then." said Nemona as she grabs Lincoln's hand and pulls him off to their destination.
Two minutes later, the staff member was handing Lincoln an orange, sun-shaped rock.
"Congratulations, young man." said the staff member.
"Thank you." Lincoln replied.
"Hey, Lincoln!" Lana calls out, making Lincoln and Nemona look to see the rest of the group walking over to them.
"Hi, guys!" said Lincoln.
"What did you all do?" asked Nemona. The Loud sisters told each other about the Pokemon battles they had around Artazon.
"Pokemon battles are so much fun!" said Lana.
"I'll say." said Lynn. Remembering something, she reaches into her pocket and pulls out her opponent's phone number and hands it to Lincoln.
"What's this?" asked Lincoln as he looks at the paper.
"My opponent wanted me to give you her Rotom Phone number." said Lynn with a grin. "She thinks you're cute." Lincoln blushes at the fact while Nemona frowns; Lincoln feels someone tapping on his shoulder, making him look to see Lynn's opponent looking at him.
"Can I help you?" Lincoln asked the girl.
"That was my opponent." said Lynn.
"My name is Valerie." said the girl now identified as Valerie. "Don't be afraid to give me a call sometimes, cutie." She then kisses Lincoln on the cheek, making him blush and freeze up, and Nemona growl and wrap her arms around him while glaring at Valerie who does the same back at her.
"You can go now." Nemona says through clenched teeth.
"I'll probably see him again soon." said Valerie before she winks at Lincoln and runs off.
"Rusty would really be jealous." said Clyde.
"It's getting kind of late." said Penny as she sees the sun was starting to set.
"Let's find a place to camp for the night and head for where the Steel Titan is in the morning." said Arven.
The group heads outside Artazon and find a clearing to put up their tents in; after a nice dinner, courtesy of Arven, Lincoln calls his family.
"Hi, son." said Lynn Sr.
"How are you all doing?" asked Rita. Lincoln tells his family about their day so far, including Leni, Lynn, Lucy, and Lana's first Pokemon battles.
"We're glad you're all enjoying yourselves." said Lori.
"Don't forget to send over Pokemon for everyone here who asked for one." said Luna.
"I will." said Lincoln. "And I'm working on getting one ready for you and Sam."
"Rad!" said Luna. "I hope you get it ready soon."
"I'll continue working on her tomorrow morning." said Lincoln. After some more talking and he ends the call; the group go into their tents, and go right to sleep.
The group has had another busy day. What else will they experience as they head for the Steel Titan, and their Treasure Hunts continue?
