South Province, Area Three
Lincoln and Clyde look around the rocky area they entered after leaving Mesagoza.
"So what kind of Pokemon do you think are around here?" asked Clyde.
"Let's look around and find out!" said Lincoln with excitement.
"Right behind you, buddy!" said Clyde with equal excitement. As soon as they take a few steps, they hear some sort of noise coming from a path going along a cliff ledge.
"What's that?" asked Lincoln. The two go over and check it out to see a small humanoid Pokemon that had a black covering over the top half of its face, it's mostly black, except for its torso which had what looked like a red and orange, firelike tunic over it, on its head was a plume of fire that had many colors to it; fighting with several Pokemon that looked like brown rocks that had a white cube sticking out of them, stacked on other white cubes that had vertical rectangular, eyelike openings on them.
"What are those Pokemon?" asked Clyde. Lincoln takes out his Rotom Phone and points it at the black Pokemon.
"Charcadet, the Fire Child Pokemon. Burnt charcoal came to life and became a Pokémon. Possessing a fiery fighting spirit, Charcadet will battle even tough opponents." said the Rotom Phone. Lincoln then points the Rotom Phone at the rock Pokemon.
"Nacli, the Rock Salt Pokemon. It was born in a layer of rock salt deep under the earth. This species was particularly treasured in the old days, as they would share precious salt." said the Rotom Phone.
The two watched as the Charcadet releases bits of fire from the face covering at the Naclies, which don't seem to affect them that much. The Naclies retaliate by launching globs of mud at it, doing super effective damage. The Charcadet drops to one knee while breathing hard.
"Fighting that many opponents that have a major advantage like that isn't fair!" said Lincoln.
"We should help!" said Clyde. The two run over and stand between Charcadet and the Naclies, surprising the Pokemon. Lincoln releases his Shellder and Sprigatito; Clyde releases his Quaxly and Hoppip.
"Sprigatito, use Magical Leaf; Shellder, Water Gun!" said Lincoln. Sprigatito releases a barrage of glowing green leaves at the Naclies while Shellder releases a spray of water at them, doing super effective damage.
"Quaxly, use Aqua Jet; Hoppip, use Bullet Seed!" said Clyde. Quaxly launches himself at the Naclies while coated in water and strikes some of them while Hoppip releases a spray of seeds from his mouth at them, doing super effective damage. This goes on for a minute before the Naclies retreat.
"We showed them." said Lincoln. Clyde notices that one of the Naclies was on its side, struggling to get up. Not feeling right about leaving it like that, plus wanting another Pokemon for his team, he takes an empty pokeball and throws it at it, hitting it, and sucking it in. The pokeball wiggles a few times before clicking.
"I caught a Nacli!" said Clyde in triumph. He then uses his Rotom Phone to look up his new Nacli's information. "This says my Nacli is a girl, she knows Tackle, Harden, Rock Throw, Mud Shot, Smack Down, and Rock Polish; and she has the Sturdy which prevents her from being knocked out in one hit when she's at full stamina."
"That sounds like it could be useful in a tough fight." said Lincoln. He then looks at the Charcadet that was looking back at him.
"Is the Charcadet okay?" asked Clyde. Lincoln examines it and sees some injuries on its body; he takes a Potion out of his backpack and sprays it on Charcadet to heal it enough so it can stand back up.
"You feel better now?" asked Lincoln. Charcadet nods in response. "Try not to get into fights with that many Pokemon with a type advantage in the future."
"Shall we keep going?" asked Clyde.
"Sure." said Lincoln as he and Clyde walk off. What they didn't realize was that the Charcadet decides to follow after them. As Clyde looks around, he sees a Tera Den and decides to see what was in it with Lincoln following him. They go inside the Tera Den; once inside, they see a gray, birdlike Pokemon with a crystal fist on top of its head. Clyde takes out his Rotom Phone and points it at the Pokemon.
"Starly, the Starling Pokemon. They flock around mountains and fields, chasing after bug Pokémon. Their singing is noisy and annoying." said Clyde's Rotom Phone.
"I'm catching this Pokemon." said Clyde. "And I'm guessing by the crystal fist on its head, its Tera Form is a fighting type."
"You've been studying hard." said Lincoln.
"You bet I have." said Clyde. He pulls out a pokeball. "Go, Ralts!" He throws Ralts pokeball and releases him.
"Pawmi, go!" said Lincoln, throwing Pawmi's pokeball and releasing her.
"Ralts, Disarming Voice!" said Clyde. Ralts then releases a soothing soundwave at Starly which hits it, doing super effective damage.
"Pawmi, use Nuzzle!" said Lincoln. Pawmi runs up to the Startly and nuzzles it with his cheek, sending electricity through its body, damaging it, as well as causing paralysis. The Starly responds by striking her with its wing, not doing a lot of damage to her.
"Ralts, use Confusion!" said Clyde. Ralts' body glows blue, causing a blue aura to appear around the Starly which slams it down to the ground, causing its Tera Form to shatter.
"Clyde, catch it!" said Lincoln. Clyde nods and takes out an empty pokeball from his pocket; he then throws it at the Starly, becoming crystallized before hitting it, and sucking it in; the pokeball wiggles a few times before clicking.
"Yes! I caught a Starly!" said Clyde. The cavern shines brightly before the boys find themselves back in South Province, Area Three.
"So, what's your new Starly like?" asked Lincoln. Clyde takes out his Rotom Phone.
"This says Starly's a girl, she knows Tackle, Growl, Quick Attack, Wing Attack, Double Team, and Aerial Ace." said Clyde. "She has the Keen Eye ability which prevents her accuracy from being lowered." He then sees three small mushrooms on the ground where the Tera Den was and picks them up.
"Those are Tiny Mushrooms." said Lincoln.
"I remember learning about these at the academy." said Clyde. "Each one can be sold for five hundred pokedollars."
"Yeah, and with three, you can get fifteen hundred pokedollars." said Lincoln. Clyde then pockets them along with the berries that were there.
After that, the two decide to train up their current teams for a bit.
Lincoln's Lechonk and Greavard learned Dig, and his Shellder learned Whirlpool. Also, during the training, his Sprigatito, Pawmi, and Tarountula all began to glow.
"Whoa, they're evolving!" said Lincoln. Everyone watched as they began to change shape. When Sprigatito stopped glowing, he now stood on two feet, he had arms with dark green hands, the lower half of his legs were also dark green, he had a pink flower bud on his neck and had fur growing down from his neck that resembled a poncho. Lincoln points his Rotom Phone at his newly evolved Sprigatito.
"Floragato, the Grass Cat Pokemon, and the evolved form of Sprigatito. Floragato deftly wields the vine hidden beneath its long fur, slamming the hard flower bud against its opponents." said Lincoln's Rotom Phone.
Lincoln then looks at his Pawmi and sees that she was bigger and stood upright, her body was a lighter shade of orange, and her fingers were a bit longer. He points his Rotom Phone at his newly evolved Pawmi.
"Pawmo, the Mouse Pokemon, and the evolved form of Pawmi. When its group is attacked, Pawmo is the first to leap into battle, defeating enemies with a fighting technique that utilizes electric shocks." said the Rotom Phone.
"That is so cool!" said Lincoln. "And this says she learned Arm Thrust after evolving, and she has the Volt Absorb ability which makes it so getting hit with an electric attack only heals her."
"Awesome!" said Clyde. Lincoln then looks at his Tarountula and sees that his body was no longer in a ball of thread, his body was longer, his head was tan colored with two eyes on each side of it, plus his face was green and two eyes on it, his legs were tan with olive green shins, plus together in pairs, his upper torso looked like it had olive green chest armor, while his lower torso had white bandages around it, with a spinneret sticking out from the bottom of it. Lincoln points his Rotom Phone at his newly evolved Tarountula.
"Spidops, the Trap Pokemon, and the evolved form of Tarountula. It clings to branches and ceilings using its threads and moves without a sound. It takes out its prey before the prey even notices it." said Lincoln's Rotom Phone.
"That Pokemon would definitely give your dad and Leni nightmares." said Clyde as he remembers last Halloween when he visited the Loud house dressed as a spider and frightened those two when they saw him.
"My Rotom Phone says that Spidops learned Silk Trap which lowers the speed of any Pokemon that steps on it." said Lincoln.
As Clyde trained his Pokemon; his Quaxly, Hoppip, and Swablu got stronger, his Ralts learned Psybeam, his Fidough learned Play Rough, and his Nacli learned Headbutt. Also during the training; his Quaxly and Hoppip both started to glow.
"Clyde! Your Quaxly and Hoppip are evolving!" said Lincoln. The two watched as Clyde's Pokemon start to change before their eyes. When Quaxly finished, Quaxly now had a more humanoid form with longer legs with yellow feet with a blue marking on each of them, his beak was a little pointed, he had white arms instead of wings with blue hands, his blue head tuft was bigger, and his chest was blue. Clyde points his Rotom Phone at his newly evolved Quaxly.
"Quaxwell, the Practicing Pokemon, and the evolved form of Quaxly. These Pokémon constantly run through shallow waters to train their legs, then compete with each other to see which of them kicks most gracefully." said Clyde's Rotom Phone.
Hoppip was now bigger, her body was flatter green with long flat ears, and a yellow flower on top of it. Clyde points his Rotom Phone at her.
"Skiploom, the Cottonweed Pokemon, and the evolved form of Hoppip. Skiploom enthusiasts can apparently tell where a Skiploom was born by the scent drifting from the flower on the Pokémon's head." said Clyde's Rotom Phone.
"This is so awesome!" said Lincoln. Seeing that the sun was starting to go down, they all decide to make camp for the night and have dinner with their Pokemon. After they ate, Lincoln and Clyde decide to call their families to say how they were doing.
"Hi, sport." said Lynn Sr.
"How's Paldea, honey?" said Rita.
"Did you all catch some new Pokemon yet?" asked Lana. Lincoln and Clyde show everyone the Pokemon that evolved, with Leni and Lynn Sr being scared silly by Spidops.
"Pokemon evolution is so fascinating." said Lisa. "To think it takes Pokemon mere days to do so, while it takes every other creature on Earth generations to do so."
"We're glad you two are doing just fine in Paldea, Clyde sweetie." said Howard McBride.
"Keep enjoying yourself and watch each other's backs." said Harold McBride.
"He speaks for all of us." said Lynn Sr from behind the couch where he was hiding with Leni after seeing Spidops.
"We will, Dads." said Clyde.
"We promise." said Lincoln. After some more talking, they end the video chat and go inside their tent to get some sleep. What they don't know is that on a small plateau near them, the Charcadet from earlier was watching over them.
