The next morning at Naranja Academy, the Louds, Ronnie Anne, and their friends, were just coming out of the cafeteria after having a nice breakfast.
"How is the food here so much better than what's at our school back in Royal Woods?" asked Ronnie Anne.
"Yeah." said Lana as she pats her belly.
"I'm full." said Clyde.
"Uh oh; you just said that." said Lincoln with worry.
"What's wrong with what Clyde said?" asked Ronnie Anne.
"Three... two... one..." Lincoln counted down before a voice that sent shivers up Lincoln and Clyde's spines calls out to them.
"Sounds like you boys need to work those extra calories off!" Ms. Dendra said to Lincoln and Clyde as they trembled with fear.
"What have I done?" Clyde asked himself before Ms Dendra grabs the two boys, lifts them up over her shoulders, and starts doing a light jog to the Schoolyard.
"Can I join in?" asked Lynn Jr. "I could use a post-breakfast workout myself."
"The more, the merrier." said Ms. Dendra as she continues on with Lynn following after her.
"I hope they'll be okay." said Lucy.
"I remember the workout that lady gave Lame-O during that video tour he gave us." said Ronnie Anne with concern.
"Lame-O?" Nemona replied as she glares at Ronnie Anne.
"Her little pet name for Lincoln." said Leni with a grin, making Ronnie Anne blush.
One hour later, Lincoln and Clyde were coming out of their rooms after taking showers after working up a sweat after another Ms. Dendra training regimen.
"That wasn't nearly as bad as we remember." said Lincoln.
"Maybe we're getting used to Ms. Dendra's workouts?" suggested Clyde.
"Then maybe we should take them to the next level." said Lynn with a feral grin.
"Please don't." begged Lincoln.
"What are we going to do now?" asked Arven.
"We could bring Ronnie Anne and Lynn to Cortondo to challenge the gym there." said Lincoln.
"Good idea!" said Lynn.
"Maybe I can train up my Pokemon on the way there." said Ronnie Anne.
"Sure." said Lincoln. "And after you and Lynn have your gym battles, I can head to Cascarrafa and go for my fourth gym badge."
"Finally!" said Nemona before she wraps her arms around Lincoln in a hug, making him blush, and Ronnie Anne growl a little.
"And the desert outside that city is supposed to have another Titan Pokemon in it." said Arven.
"Yaay!" cheered Leni. "We can help Mabosstiff get even more better!"
"Let's get going!" said Lincoln as he and the others head for the main entrance and exit the building.
They all then go to a Pokemon Center and stock up on pokeballs and potions, as well as stop by some food stores for ingredients for Arven's meals.
They soon reach the west gate of Mesagoza and exit through it and enter East Province Area Two. As the group walked through the area, Ronnie Anne was looking around.
"What are you looking for, Ronnie Anne?" asked Lana.
"I promised Mom I would find a Pokemon for her." replied Ronnie Anne. She kept looking around until she saw a light pink, egg-shaped Pokemon with stubby arms, a ponytail, and wearing what appeared to be a red and pink pouch on the lower half of its body. Ronnie Anne takes out her Rotom Phone and points it at the Pokemon.
"Happiny, the Playhouse Pokemon. It carries a round, white rock in its belly pouch. If it gets along well with someone, it will sometimes give that person the rock." said Ronnie Anne's Rotom Phone.
"I think I'll catch this one for Mom." said Ronnie Anne as she pulls a pokeball from her waist.
"She'll love it; it's totes adorbs!" said Leni.
"Fomantis, go!" said Ronnie Anne, throwing Fomantis' pokeball, and releasing her. "Fomantis, use Growth!" Fomantis grows a little and her attack and special attack strength increases. The Happiny leaps at Fomantis and pounds her, damaging her.
"That looked like Pound." said Lincoln.
"Fomantis, use Fury Cutter!" said Ronnie Anne. Fomantis leaps at Happiny and slashes it with one of her leaf arms, dealing damage. Happiny becomes surrounded by a light blue aura; it leaps at Fomantis and slashes her with one of her arms, dealing super effective damage.
"What was that?" asked Lynn.
"I think I remember reading that Happinies have a move called Copycat; it mimics the last move an opponent used." said Lincoln. "So, I think Happiny used Fury Cutter."
"That won't stop us, right, Fomantis?!" asked Ronnie Anne; Fomantis nods in response. "Fomantis, use Magical Leaf!" Fomantis releases glowing green leaves from her body and they hit Happiny, doing more damge than it normally would have due to Growth and Miracle Seed powering up Magicial Leaf, and knocking Happiny to the ground.
"Catch it, Ronnie Anne!" said Lana. Ronnie Anne nods before pulling out an empty pokeball from her waist and throws it at Happiny, hitting it, and sucking it in. The pokeball wiggled for a few seconds until it clicked.
"Woot woot; I caught a Happiny." said Ronnie Anne; Happiny's pokeball vanishes. "Hey; where did Happiny's pokeball go?"
"Trainers can't have more than six Pokemon with them." replied Lincoln. "Any other Pokemon you catch will be transported to storage.
"Oh, right." said Ronnie Anne. She uses her Rotom Phone to look up Happiny's information. "This says Happiny's a girl, she knows Pound, Copycat, Defense Curl, Sweet Kiss, and Disarming Voice; she has the Serene Grace ability which increases the chances of activating the secondary effects of attacks that have them." She then uses her Rotom Phone to call the Louds in Royal Woods; seconds later, Rita Loud answered. "Hey, Mrs. Loud."
"Hello, Ronnie Anne." replied Rita.
"I'm sending a Pokemon for my mom." said Ronnie Anne. "Can you bring it to her."
"Of course, Ronnie Anne." replied Rita. Ronnie Anne uses her Rotom Phone to send Happiny to the Loud house. After Ronnie Anne tells Rita everything about Happiny, she ends the call.
"What are you going to do now, Ronnie Anne?" asked Lincoln.
"I'm going to train my Pokemon for the Cortondo gym." replied Ronnie Anne.
Ronnie Anne spent her time training her Pokemon to prepare them for their gym battle. Her Fuecoco learned Incinerate, her Psyduck learned Water Pulse, and her Fomantis learned Razor Leaf. During the training, her Fuecoco and Shinx both began glowing.
"Hey; Fuecoco and Shinx are evolving!" said Ronnie Anne. Everyone watched as Fuecoco and Shinx began to change shape. When they stopped glowing, Fuecoco now had a longer snout, his hands were black,his chest was white, yellow, and black, and on his head was a mass of orange fire energy around it that resembled a nest with a egg-shaped fireball on it. Shinx now had a mane of black fur around his head and had two yellow lines around its front ankles instead of one. Ronnie Anne points her Rotom Phone at her newly evolved Fuecoco.
"Crocalor, the Fire Croc Pokemon, and the evolved form of Fuecoco. The combination of Crocalor's fire energy and overflowing vitality has caused an egg-shaped fireball to appear on the Pokémon's head." said Ronnie Anne's Rotom Phone.
"What's Shinx now?" asked Lana. Ronnie Anne then points her Rotom Phone at her newly evolved Shinx.
"Luxio, the Spark Pokemon, and the evolved form of Shinx. Strong electricity courses through the tips of its sharp claws. A light scratch causes fainting in foes." said Ronnie Anne's Rotom Phone.
"This is so cool." said Ronnie Anne.
"Congratulations, Ronnie Anne." said Lincoln.
"Thanks, Lame-O." replied Ronnie Anne, making Nemona frown at her. Ronnie Anne then notices a Tera Den nearby. "Hey, a Tera Den." She runs to it and goes inside; she soon found herself inside a crystal cavern, looking at a crystallized, white, larva-like Pokemon with icy spikes around its body, and a crystal snowflake on top of it. Ronnie Anne takes out her Rotom Phone, and points it at the Pokemon.
"Snom, the Worm Pokemon. It eats snow that has accumulated on the ground. It prefers soft, freshly fallen snow, so it will eat its way up a mountain, aiming for the peak." said Ronnie Anne's Rotom Phone.
"Cool; I'm catching this one." said Ronnie Anne, pulling out a pokeball. "Seeing the snowflake on top of it, I'm going to assume its Tera Form's an ice type; Crocalor, go!" She throws Crocalor's pokeball, and releases him. "Okay, Crocalor, use Incinerate!" Crocalor releases a beam of fire from his mouth and it hits Snom, dealing super effective damage. Snom releases a gust of wind with sparkling blue snow from its mouth and it hits Crocalor, but not doing much damage.
"Crocalor, use Ember!" said Ronnie Anne. Crocalor releases embers from his mouth and they hit Snom, dealing super effective damage. Snom's crystal skin and snowflake shatter and it passes out. Ronnie Anne takes out an empty pokeball and throws it at Snom; it crystallizes as it got closer and it hits the Pokemon, sucking it into the pokeball. It wiggled a few times until the crystal layer breaks off and it clicks.
"Woot woot! Snom is mine." said Ronnie Anne. The cavern vanishes and Ronnie Anne finds herself back in South Province Area Two; she sees three bags of Stardust, and several berries. She picks up the Stardusts and berries and puts them in her backpack. She then looks up her Snom's information on her Rotom Phone. "This says Snom's a boy, he knows Powder Snow, Struggle Bug, and Icy Wind; he has the Shield Dust ability which prevents offensive moves that hits him don't activate secondary effects."
"Now that that's done, let's get going to Cortondo!" said Lynn.
"Yeah!" the rest of the group replied before Nemona hooks one of her arms around one of Lincoln's, making Ronnie Anne glare while hooking one of her arm's around Lincoln's other one, making Nemona glare back at her; they all then started heading towards Cortondo.
Meanwhile, at an unknown location, in a large chamber; Sidian and Coral were standing in front of a man with long silver hair that had some pink at the ends of it, pink eyes, wearing a long white jacket that had black and gold trim, and black gauntlets and gloves, over a light purple vest, a big gold belt, and a long white skirt; they were showing the man the recording and data of Lincoln and Lycanroc when the Pokemon did his transformation.
"I have heard of this phenomenon." said the man. "A trainer in the Kalos Region has done the same thing with his Greninja."
"What is it, Master Gibeon?" asked Sidian.
"I believe the transformation is called Bond Evolution." said the man now known as Gibeon. "It's a powerful ability that affects both trainer and Pokemon."
"What else do you know about it, sir?" asked Sidian.
"I know that it greatly increases the power of the Pokemon, but there is a drawback to it that affects the trainer." said Gibeon.
"What do you mean?" Coral asked out of concern for Lincoln, making Sidian glare at her.
"Any attack the Pokemon is hit with, the trainer will feel." said Gibeon.
"So if my cutie's Pokemon gets hurt, so will he?" asked Coral.
"Exactly." said Gibeon.
"Is this something you wish to learn about?" asked Sidian.
"That power could be useful in working towards our goals." said Gibeon. "I want you to capture the boy and his Lycanroc, and bring them both here for study."
"You got it!" said Coral with excitement. "And if you need somewhere to put Linky, you can have him share a room with me!"
"I would prefer to keep him in a more secure room." said Gibeon.
"I'll lock the door and keep an eye on him 24/7!" Coral whined.
"No." said Gibeon.
"No fair!" said Coral.
"Just retrieve the boy, then we'll figure out what to do with him." said Gibeon.
"Yes, sir." said Sidian before he picks up Coral by the back of her shirt collar and both begin exiting the room.
"I can walk you know!" shouts Coral.
"Let's just focus on finding that boy." said Sidian. "We just need to figure out where he is right now."
"I can help with that!" said Coral as she pulls out her Rotom Phone. "I have a drone following him around all the time." The two look at the screen and see Lincoln, his sisters, Ronnie Anne, Nemona, Arven, and Penny all heading through South Province Area Two.
"Looks like he's just east of Cortondo." said Sidian.
"And who are those other people with him?!" asked Coral as she glares at the sight of Nemona and Ronnie Anne with their arms hooked around Lincoln's.
"They're not important." said Sidian. "Only thing we need to focus on is capturing the boy."
"I can definitely focus on that." said Coral with delight at the thought of being with Lincoln again.
"Let's just go." said Sidian. The two exit a large facility and start heading for Lincoln's location.
'I'm coming for you, cutie.' Coral thought to herself with delight. 'Soon, you'll be all mine!'
Back with the group in South Province Area Two, they were standing on a hill, looking down towards Cortondo.
"So, that's where you got your first badge, Lincoln?" asked Ronnie Anne.
"Yep." replied Lincoln.
"Then that's where I'm getting mine." replied Ronnie Anne.
"Same here." replied Lynn. The group then begin walking down the hill towards Cortondo.
Ronnie Anne and Lynn are ready to challenge Katy to gym battles to earn their first badges. Will they succeed? Wait and find out.
Meanwhile, in Royal Woods, Maria Santiago was sitting on a chair, cradling her new Happiny.
