Meet the Rising Volt Tacklers
After Lincoln's group encounter with Sidian and Coral, along with the man known as Friede coming to their aid and letting them aboard his airship, they all look around with awe on their faces.
"This ship is amazing." said Lincoln.
"Thank you." said Friede. "Welcome aboard the Brave Olivine."
"I'm Lincoln Loud." said Lincoln.
"I'm his sister, Lynn Jr." said Lynn.
"I'm their sister, Leni." said Leni.
"I'm Lucy." Lucy says from behind Friede, startling him.
"I'm Lana." said Lana.
"I'm Lincoln's best friend, Clyde." said Clyde.
"I'm Ronnie Anne." said Ronnie Anne.
"I'm Nemona." said Nemona.
"I'm Arven." said Arven.
"And I'm Penny." said Penny.
Just then, Lincoln's Rotom Phone began to ring; it comes out of his pocket and flies in front of him before the image of his family and friends, back in Royal Woods, appears on the screen.
"Hi, sweetie." said Rita.
"Hey, Mom." said Lincoln.
"You kids doing okay?" asked Lynn Sr.
"We are now." said Lincoln.
"What do you mean?" asked Lori. Lincoln then goes on to tell his family about their encounter with Coral and Sidian.
"Are you all okay?" asked Rita.
"We are." said Lincoln. "Fortunately, this man named Friede came to our rescue and got us away from them." He then points his Rotom Phone at Friede so his family can see him.
"Hello, everyone." said Friede. "My name is Professor Friede; but you can just call me Friede."
"A professor?" Lisa replied with interest.
"I'm the founder and leader of the Rising Volt Tacklers." said Friede.
"Rising Volt Tacklers?" asked Lynn.
"That's the name of my group." said Friede.
"Thank you for helping our children and their friends." said Lynn Sr.
"We've had run-ins with the Explorers before, so it wasn't a problem for me." said Friede.
"The Explorers?" Clyde replied.
"They're the group that those two work with." said Friede.
"They didn't look like explorers to me." said Lana.
"What do they want?" asked Arven.
"They usually try to find and capture extremely rare and powerful Pokemon." said Friede. "But their main goal is to reach Laqua and obtain the Laquium that's said to be located there."
"What's Laqua and Laquium?" asked Nemona.
"Laqua is a mysterious Pokemon paradise where the rarest ones are said to live peacefully in." said Friede.
"Cool." said Lana.
"And what exactly is Laquium?" asked Lisa.
"Crystals that contain a very powerful energy." said Friede.
"What do those Explorer guys want with it?" asked Penny.
"I am uncertain." said Friede. "But the energy the Laquium contains can cause wild Pokemon to go feral, as well as greatly affect the plant life around it."
"I don't want to think what people like them would do with it if they got their hands on it." said Lincoln.
"Whatever their goals are, we won't let them succeed." said Friede.
"You kids should be careful with people like them around." said Lynn Sr.
"We will, Dad." said Leni.
"So where are you all right now?" asked Luan.
"Right now, I think we're miles above Paldea." said Lincoln.
"Above?" Lori replied with confusion.
"You gotta see this." said Lincoln as he starts showing everyone the Brave Olivine.
"You're all on a giant flying ship?!" asked Lori.
"It's so rad!" said Luna.
"I want a flying ship!" said Lola.
"We'll talk about it, sweetie." said Lynn Sr.
"Let me show you all around and introduce you to my crew." said Friede.
Lincoln's group begins to follow Friede around as he gives them a tour of the Brave Olivine.
Their first stop was a very large battlefield on the stern of the ship.
"This is a battlefield we all use to train up our Pokemon." said Friede. "We only use it when the ship is set down on the ground to avoid them getting badly hurt if any fell off."
"That's good to know." said Lincoln.
Their next stop was in the bowels of the ship; they enter a large room with a huge boiler and a big hamster wheel with a large black Pokemon that looked like a mine cart with rocks containing burning coal rolling inside, making it move.
"Cool!" said Lana.
"What's that Pokemon?" asked Ronnie Anne as she points her Rotom Phone at the Pokemon.
"Carkoal, the Coal Pokemon, and the evolved form of Rolycoly. The temperature inside its body increases when it experiences strong emotions. It rolls around frantically while spewing flames." said Ronnie Anne's Rotom Phone.
"Hello, Friede." a female voice calls out, making Lincoln's group notice a woman with brown, orange-tipped hair, wearing a black t-shirt, orange baggy pants, a yellow jacket wrapped around her waist, black and dark green boots with matching gloves, and a yellow satchel around her waist.
"Hi, Orla." Friede says to the woman now known as Orla. "This is Orla; she's the mechanic of the Brave Olivine."
"Who are these people?" asked Orla. Friede then introduces Lincoln's group to her.
"This engine room is so cool!" said Lana.
"Thank you, young lady." Orla replied with a smile. "You seem like someone who's into mechanics."
"She sure is." said Lynn. "She can fix any engine once she learns enough about it."
"But she's six." said Orla.
"Age is just a number." said Lincoln.
"I suppose." said Orla.
"These people were attacked by the Explorers." said Friede.
"Are they all okay?" asked Orla.
"They are." said Friede.
"Though some of our Pokemon can use a trip to a Pokemon Center." said Lynn.
"In that case, we'll make the infirmary the next stop on the tour." said Friede.
"Good." said Leni.
The group exits the engine room and make their way down a hallway towards the infirmary; as they do, a door opens, and a girl with purple, pink-tipped hair that covered her eyes, wearing a lilac purple jacket with white trim over a dark purple tank top, green pants, and slippers that had looked like a catlike Pokemon they didn't recognize.
"Hi, Friede." the girl said when she sees Friede.
"Everyone, this is Dot." Friede said. "She's in charge of maintaining and updating the technology on our ship." The girl, now known as Dot, looks over at the group.
"Who are these people?" asked Dot. Everyone introduces themselves to the girl who gets a look of, what could be, shock on her face when she sees Lincoln.
"What's wrong?" asked Lincoln.
"You're that boy that Iono likes." said Dot.
"You've seen her videos about me?" asked Lincoln.
"I've worked with her on some of them." said Dot.
"Really?" Clyde replied.
"Yeah." Dot says as she looks at Clyde with a blush on her face. "You won't believe how much she talks about Lincoln ever since she met him; she's always talking about how cute and brave he is and that she loves him." Lincoln's sisters giggle at the fact while Nemona and Ronnie Anne both growled.
Just then, a Rotom Phone rings from Dot's jacket and it flies out in front of her, showing the image of Iono on the screen.
"Hi, Dot!" said Iono.
"Hi, Iono." Dot replied.
"What's new?" asked Iono.
"That Lincoln kid you like is here on the Brave Olivine." said Dot as she points her Rotom Phone towards the white-haired Loud.
"Cutie!" Iono squealed when she sees Lincoln.
"Hi, Iono." Lincoln said with a blush.
"What are you doing there?" asked Iono.
"Friede rescued us from Coral when she and an associate of hers tried to abduct him." said Penny.
"WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?!" Iono replied. "That crazy girl is after my Linky again?!"
"Yeah." said Ronnie Anne.
"We're not letting her get her hands on him!" said Nemona as she wrapped her arms around Lincoln and holds him tight to her, making his face turn red.
"I don't want yours or that Ronnie Anne girl touching him either!" said Iono, making Nemona and Ronnie Anne glare at her.
"Friede's giving us a tour of his ship right now." said Lincoln.
"Dot, can you follow after him and keep your Rotom Phone pointed at him for me?" asked Iono.
"Sure." said Dot.
The group continues down the hall with Dot staying very close to Clyde while sneaking glances at Clyde, not that anyone can tell with her eyes covered by her hair.
"How can you see with your eyes covered?" Lucy asked Dot.
"Look who's talking, Luce." Lynn replied.
"The spirits guide me." said Lucy, creeping out everyone.
They all soon reach a room and go inside to see a medical facility with several beds, along with cabinets and cupboards that contained many medical supplies; there was also a woman with pink hair, wearing a red and gray jacket over a pink dress, dark gray leggings, and dark pink shoes.
"Hi, Mollie." Friede says to the woman now known as Mollie.
"Hello, Friede." said Mollie; she then notices Lincoln's group. "Who are these people?" Lincoln and his sisters and friends all then introduce themselves.
"Mollie here is the Brave Olivine's medic; she takes care of the health of the crew and Pokemon." said Friede. As everyone looks around, Leni sees a pink, egg-shaped Pokemon with small arms, dark pink feet, dark pink-tipped, hairlike growths coming out the sides of its head, along with a small pouch that had an egg in it on her belly.
"What's that Pokemon?" asked Leni as she points her Rotom Phone at the Pokemon.
"Chansey, the Egg Pokemon, and the evolved form of Happiny. This kindly Pokémon lays highly nutritious eggs and shares them with injured Pokémon or people." said Leni's Rotom Phone.
"Some of their Pokemon need treatment." said Friede.
"Very well." said Mollie. Leni, Lynn, Lucy, Lana, and Ronnie Anne all give their Pokemon that battled with the Explorers.
"Thank you." said Leni.
"Give me a couple of hours and you're Pokemon will be back to perfect health." said Mollie.
"Sweet." said Lynn.
The group leaves the infirmary and continue on with the tour, seeing other parts of the ship, such as the gasbag for the blimp section of the Brave Olivine, and the power room.
"This ship is amazing." said Lincoln.
As they walked by a door that had a delicious aroma coming from beyond them.
"Is that the kitchen?" asked Lana.
They all enter the area and see a nice kitchen area with brick walls that had several cooking utensils hanging from them, a large oven with an air vent above them, cupboards with dishes inside them, a very large refrigerator; they also see a tall muscular man with dark skin, a dark brown buzzcut with some gray parts, wearing a cream-colored shirt with red x's on the collar and two light red patterns on the bottom of it, a red hankerchief around his right arm and around his neck, white shorts with a blue stripe on each leg, and tan-colored closed sandals.
"Hi, Murdock." Friede says to the man now known as Murdock.
"Hello, Friede." said Murdock.
"This is Murdock." Friede says to Lincoln's group. "He's the cook here on the Brave Olivine."
"Who are they?" Murdock says as he looks at Lincoln's group who introduce themselves. Just then, a Rockruff comes into the kitchen and runs over to Murdock.
"Hey, it's a Rockruff." said Lana.
"Hi, boy." said Murdock as he bends down to pet the dog Pokemon. Clyde then notices a humanoid Pokemon on Murdock's shoulder that looked like it was made of whipped cream with pink trim and around its neck, along with a strawberry in each of the bangs on the sides of its head.
"What's that Pokemon?" asked Clyde as he points his Rotom Phone at the Pokemon.
"Alcremie, the Cream Pokemon, and the evolved form of Milcery. Slight vibrations shook its cells when it evolved, giving it a sweet and tart flavor." said Clyde's Rotom Phone.
"She's so cute!" said Leni. The Alcremie then releases a large stream of cream and pink-colored, well, cream that piles up on the floor.
"Ewww; what's that stuff?" asked Lola. Lana watches as Murdock's Rockruff runs over to the substance and starts licking it. Out of curiosity, Lana collects a bit of it onto her finger and licks it; her eyes widen with surprise.
"Lola, that Alcremie can make the best buttercream frosting I've ever tasted!" said Lana as she starts eating more of it.
"And my Rotom Phone says that Alcremie's a fairy type Pokemon." said Clyde.
"I want one!" said Lola.
"Would you like me to make some meals for our guests?" Murdock asked Friede.
"If it's not too much trouble, sir." said Lincoln.
"Of course not, young man." said Murdock as he gets to cooking up some food for Lincoln's group.
Everyone then heads outside to the Brave Olivine's main deck and Lincoln's group head to the railing to get a look at the view.
"Whoa." said Lynn as she looks out at the horizon in front of everyone.
"I'm glad we came to the Paldea Region and get to experience this." said Clyde.
As Lincoln looks around, he sees an elderly man with long gray hair and a beard that covers most of his face, wearing an aquamarine jacket with cream-colored trim over a white smock and baggy dark tan-colored pants, with matching sandals, holding a fishing rod; with him was a bipedal Pokemon with smooth light blue skin, arms and feet with three digits on each of them, a tail with a dark blue fin on it, and a purple stripe going down its back.
"What's that Pokemon?" asked Lana as she points her Rotom Phone at the man's Pokemon.
"Quagsire, the Water Fish Pokemon, and the evolved form of Wooper. This carefree Pokémon has an easygoing nature. While swimming, it always bumps into boat hulls." said Lana's Rotom Phone.
"Hi, Ludlow." Friede says to the man now known as Ludlow.
"Hello, Friede." said Ludlow.
"Ludlow here is the Brave Olivine's fisherman." said Friede. "He also looks after the ship for us when I'm not aboard."
"Who are they?" asked Ludlow as he notices Lincoln's group who Friede introduces to him.
"It's nice to meet you, sir." said Clyde.
"Such a well-mannered young man." said Ludlow.
The group then goes through the ship until they reach an elevator; they use it to go up to a small room with a patio leading out, some seats, and a telescope.
"This is our observation deck." said Friede. "It offers the best view from the entire ship."
"Let me see!" said Lana as she runs over to the telescope and looks out towards the horizon through it.
"So what do the Rising Volt Tacklers mainly do?" asked Nemona.
"We travel the world, sometimes helping others in need to earn funding to maintain the Brave Olivine." said Friede.
"That sounds so cool!" said Lincoln.
Just then, two kids; one being a boy with dark skin, dark brown hair with a tuft of magenta on the front of it, wearing a dark brown cap with a white brim, a dark brown hoodie with short white sleeves over a red shirt with a yellow symbol on it, dark brown shorts, and black and yellow sandals with white soles, and he had a Crocalor.
The other kid is a girl with black hair that has blue highlights in it, wearing an aqua blue coat over a white dress shirt, dark blue shorts, white shin-high socks with aqua blue trim, and white shoes with aqua-colored details, and a Floragato following her.
"Hey, Friede." said the boy.
"How's the flag doing, Roy." Friede says to the boy now known as Roy.
"Yeah, it took a while to fix after that Fletchinder got caught in it and tore it up." said Roy. The girl then looks over at Lincoln's group and gasped when she sees the white-haired Loud.
"Hey!" the girl said. "You're that boy I've seen in Iono's Kitakami series livestream videos!"
"Wow!" Roy said when he notices Lincoln before he looks over at Clyde. "And you're his friend, Clyde!"
"His best friend." Clyde replied.
"Allow me to introduce you to these two." said Friede. "The boy is Roy, like I'm sure you all heard me call him; and the young lady is Liko."
"It's nice to meet you." said Lincoln.
"It's... nice to meet you too." Liko replied as she looks away with a blush, making Lincoln's sisters giggle, and Ronnie Anne and Nemona frown.
"Roy is the one who maintains and repairs our ship's flag if it gets damaged." said Friede. "And Liko is the one who acts as the ship's lookout."
"It's so cool to meet you two!" said Roy as he shakes Lincoln and Clyde's hands with much enthusiasm.
"Nice to meet you too." Lincoln replied.
"So, what are you all doing here?" asked Liko.
"The Explorers were after them." Friede replied, shocking Liko and Roy.
"Why were they after you?" asked Liko with concern.
"I'm kind of wondering that myself." said Friede.
"In the Kitakami videos; did you see that thing that Lincoln did with his Lycanroc?" asked Clyde.
"Yeah, it was so cool!" said Roy.
"That Sidian guy said it was called Bond Evolution." said Lincoln.
"I've heard of it, but I never actually seen it before." said Friede.
"Whoever Sidian and Coral are working for seemed interested in it, so they tried to abduct him before you showed up." said Penny.
"If the Explorers are after him, then whatever they want to do can't be good." said Friede.
"I guess I should keep on my guard." said Lincoln.
"And we should definitely train up our Pokemon if they or any other Explorer guys show up." said Lynn.
"Totes." said Leni.
"Would you please show me this Bond Evolution ability of yours, Lincoln?" Friede asked the white-haired Loud.
"Sure." said Lincoln.
"Let me get some equipment from Mollie and we'll meet out on the battle area." said Friede.
"Equipment?" Lincoln replied.
"As a professor, I should take the opportunity to get a full study of the Bond Evolution in order to understand more about it." said Friede.
"Oh." Lincoln replied.
Ten minutes later, Lincoln was on the Brave Olivine's battle arena with his Lycanroc out while Mollie attaches some sort of high-tech wristband to Lincoln's arm and putting a similar-looking collar around Lycanroc's neck. Nearby, Friede was inputting something into a laptop that was on a small table while Lincoln's friends and sisters watched.
"Okay, I'm ready on my end." said Friede.
"The devices are secured and online." said Mollie.
"What are those for?" asked Lynn as she looks at the devices on Lincoln's wrist and Lyncaroc's neck.
"These are to do a full analysis of both their physical statistics, as well as energy readings." said Mollie.
"Whenever you're ready, Lincoln; you may begin." said Friede.
"Ready, Lycanroc?" Lincoln asked his Pokemon, getting a bark of confirmation in response. They both close their eyes and concentrate; a white aura appears all over Lincoln and Lycanroc's bodies, surprising Friede and Mollie.
"I know I've seen this in that Iono video, but it's cooler seeing it in person." said Roy.
"This is interesting." said Friede.
"What is it?" asked Ronnie Anne.
"Their pulses, breathing rates, and brain wavelengths are exactly the same as one another's." said Friede.
"What does that mean?" asked Lynn.
"Those two are in perfect sync." said Friede.
"So cool." said Ronnie Anne.
"Maybe one day we can do that." said Lana.
"I would like to be one with a ghost Pokemon." said Lucy, creeping everyone else out. Suddenly, the fur on Lycanroc's head turned white while his eyes turned blue; the auras covering Lincoln and Lycanroc flared intensely.
"These energy readings are off the charts!" said Friede as he looks at the data he was receiving from the devices on Lincoln and Lycanroc.
"Wow." Liko as she looks on with amazement. The devices on Lincoln and Lycanroc suddenly broke apart, and Friede's laptop sparks before smoke bursts out of it and the screen goes blank.
"Lincoln, you and Lycanroc can stop now!" said Friede. Lincoln and Lycanroc let out deep breaths; the auras disappear, and Lycanroc's fur and eyes return to their original colors.
"That was so cool!" said Roy.
"It was interesting to say the least." said Friede. "Anything else you can tell us about the Bond Evolution."
"When we and Lycanroc are doing that, I can see and feel everything he does." said Lincoln.
"Yeah, especially if Lycanroc gets hit with an attack." said Lynn.
"Does it hurt?" asked Liko.
"Yeah." said Lincoln. "Which is why I plan on only using that as a last resort."
"Good." said Rita.
"I don't want my cutie getting hurt." said Iono, making Ronnie Anne and Nemona glare at her while Liko frowns a bit.
Soon, everyone was in the Brave Olivine's dining area, eating the food that Murdock prepared for them.
"This is good!" said Lana as she eats.
"I like Arven's cooking better." Leni said, making Arven blush.
"So, Lincoln; what are you, and your sisters and friends, up to?" asked Friede.
"He's on his way to Cascarrafa to earn his fourth gym badge." said Nemona.
"We can bring you there." said Friede.
"That would be faster." said Penny.
"And if the Explorers are out there looking for him, they won't be able to get to Lincoln if he's miles up in the sky." said Lucy.
"Good, because I don't want that Coral girl to get at my Linky!" said Iono.
Just then, Mollie enters the dining area while holding several pokeballs.
"Leni, Lynn, Lucy, Lana, Ronnie Anne; your Pokemon are fully healed." said Mollie.
"Sweet." said Lynn as Mollie hands the pokeballs to their respective trainers.
After everyone's eaten, they all head up to a large room with windows spanning the entire wall, and a control panel that had a ship's steering wheel with Friede's Pikachu operating, along with a couple of seats.
"And this is the ship's control room." said Friede.
"What's that Pokemon on the steering wheel?" asked Luan.
"It looks so cute, especially with the hat!" said Lola.
"That's Captain Pikachu." said Friede. "He's in charge of navigation when I'm not here to steer."
"Captain Pikachu; thanks for helping us earlier." said Lincoln; Captain Pikachu looks towards him and gives a salute.
"Totes, adorable!" said Leni.
"Captain Pikachu; set course for Cascarrafa." said Friede. Captain Pikachu nods before he turns the wheel towards the north.
"Looks like things are more interesting for us." said Ronnie Anne.
Lincoln, and his sisters and friends, have all just met the Rising Volt Tacklers. What else will they experience as their Paldea adventures continue?
