Asado Desert
Lincoln, along with his sisters and friends, all enter the Asado Desert as they make their way to where the Quaking Earth Titan lurks, as well as Porto Marinada to find Kofu to return his wallet so Lincoln can earn a gym battle with him.
"Man, it's hot here." said Lynn as she wipes sweat from her brow.
"Yeah, deserts are usually like that." said Ronnie Anne.
"Let's look around and see if we can find the Titan Pokemon." said Arven.
"Hope we'll be ready for it when we do." said Lincoln.
"Well, if it is too strong, we can always come back after a bit more training." Arven replied. "The Herba Mystica isn't going anywhere so we can afford to take our time when getting it."
"But I really want to help Mabosstiff get better." said Leni.
"You're kind for wanting to do so, but I don't want to risk any of our lives, especially yours." said Arven as he holds Leni's hands, making both of them blush.
"We can still train our Pokemon while looking around." said Clyde.
"It'll give us a better chance against the Titan when we find it." said Lana.
"And help with my chances with battling Kofu when I get my gym battle with him." said Lincoln.
"Me, too." said Lynn.
"Same here." said Ronnie Anne.
"And taking down the last two Team Star bases." said Clyde.
"Let's get to it, everyone." said Lana.
"Ugh, I can't stand the sun." said Lucy.
Everyone then goes and begins to train their Pokemon, as well as looking for the Titan Pokemon.
Lincoln, Ronnie Anne, and Nemona, went off in one direction. Leni and Arven went off somewhere else as well. Clyde and Penny went off in another direction; Lynn, Lana, and Lucy went off together as well.
Lincoln's Meowscarada learned Night Slash, his Pawmot learned Slam and Entrainment, his Lycanroc learned Crunch, his Armarouge learned Calm Mind, his Finizen learned Encore, and his Dratini got stronger. During the training, Finizen and Dratini both began to glow.
"Finizen and Dratini are evolving." said Lincoln. He, Ronnie Anne, and Nemona watched as Finizen kept glowing; when he stopped glowing, he had a pink heart mark on his chest.
"Aside from the heart on his chest, Finizen doesn't look any different from before." said Ronnie Anne. Lincoln takes out is Rotom Phone and points it at his newly evolved Finizen.
"Palafin Zero Form, the Dolphin Pokemon, and the evolved form of Finizen. This Pokémon changes its appearance if it hears its allies calling for help. Palafin will never show anybody its moment of transformation." said Lincoln's Rotom Phone.
"And this says he learned Flip Turn and Jet Punch, and has an ability called Zero to Hero." said Lincoln.
"What's that do?" asked Nemona.
"This says when Palafin returns to his pokeball during a battle, he'll transform when he's let back out." said Lincoln.
"That sounds cool." said Ronnie Anne. "What about Dratini?" Everyone looked at Lincoln's dragon Pokemon and see his body was longer, he was a darker shade of blue, he had winglike growths on the sides of his head, two navy blue orbs on the end of his tail and one on his throat, and a small horn on his head. Lincoln points his Rotom Phone at his newly evolved Dratini.
"Dragonair, the Dragon Pokemon, and the evolved form of Dratini. It sheds many layers of skin as it grows larger. During this process, it is protected by a rapid waterfall." said Lincoln's Rotom Phone.
"That is so amazing, Lincoln!" said Nemona as she wraps her arms around the white-haired Loud and hugs him tightly, making Ronnie Anne growl.
Ronnie Anne trained her Pokemon hard, being motivated to make them stronger after her battle with Coral. Her Hawlucha learned Brick Break and Bounce, her Cyclizar learned Bite and U-Turn, her Luxio learned Roar and Volt Switch, her Fomantis learned Sweet Scent and Slash, and her Snom got stronger.
'Next time I meet with Coral, she'll wish I didn't.' Ronnie Anne thinks to herself. As she continued training, she sees a Tera Den. "I'm going to check out what's in there."
"We'll wait out here; take your time." said Nemona as she wraps an arm around one of Lincoln's, making Ronnie Anne frown. She walks into the Tera Den; once inside, she finds herself facing a crystallized, brown Pokemon with a purple face and neck, a long snout, a leaflike fin on each side of her head, a round lump on top of its head, a light blue fin on each side of its body, and a crystal skull and crossbones on top of it.
"What's this Pokemon?" asked Ronnie Anne as she takes out her Rotom Phone and points it at the Pokemon.
"Skrelp, the Mock Kelp Pokemon. Skrelp evades its enemies by hiding amid drifting seaweed. It eats rotten seaweed to create its poison." said Ronnie Anne's Rotom Phone. Ronnie Anne takes a pokeball from her waist.
"Luxio, go!" said Ronnie Anne, throwing Luxio's pokeball and releasing him. "Luxio, use Charge!" Luxion becomes covered in sparks and his special defense increases. The Skrelp sprays a purple liquid out of its snout and it hits Luxio, dealing damage; Luxio begins to slump.
"Luxio, use Spark!" said Ronnie Anne. Luxio charges at Skrelp while electricity surrounded his body and he rams Skrelp, dealing damage; Skrelp begins to twitch. "Skrelp's paralyzed." Skrelp fights through its paralysis and sprays water at Luxio, dealing damage.
"Luxio, use Bite!" said Ronnie Anne. Luxio leaps at Skrelp and bites it, dealing damage. Skrelp tries to attack, but paralysis stops it in its tracks. "Now use Thunder Shock!" Luxio releases a jolt of electricity from his body and it hits Skrelp, shattering its Tera Form and it collapses. Ronnie Anne takes out an empty pokeball and throws it at Skrelp; it crystallizes on the way and it hits Skrelp, sucking it in. It falls to the ground and it wiggled until it returned to normal and clicks.
"Woot woot! Skrelp is mine!" said Ronnie Anne. Seconds later, Ronnie Anne finds herself back in the Asado Desert.
"How did it go?" asked Lincoln as he and Nemona walk over to her.
"Awesome; I caught a Skrelp." replied Ronnie Anne. She sees two pouches of Stardust and several berries. After she picks them up, she looks up her new Skrelp's information on her Rotom Phone.
"This says my Skrelp's a girl, she knows Tackle, Smokescreen, Acid, Water Gun, Tail Whip, Double Team, Twister and Haze." said Ronnie Anne. "She has the Poison Touch ability which has the chance of poisoning any opponent she attacks physically." She walks to Lincoln and grabs his hand, making Nemona frown. "Come on, Lame-O; let's check on the others." She pulls Lincoln along while Nemona followed after them, frowning.
With Clyde and Penny, Clyde was training his Pokemon. His Quaxquaval learned Acrobatics, and his Gallade learned Psycho Cut.
"You're Pokemon are getting stronger, Clyde." said Penny.
"I want to be ready not only for the Titan Pokemon, but also for the next Team Star base we find." said Clyde, making Penny smile. Clyde and Penny smiled at each other before looking away, blushing, causing Clyde to see a tan, hippo-like Pokemon walking by. He takes out his Rotom Phone and points it at the Pokemon.
"Hippopotas, the Hippo Pokemon. It shuts its nostrils tight, then travels through sand as if walking. They form colonies of around 10." said Clyde's Rotom Phone; Clyde turned towards Torterra.
"You up for a battle, Torterra?" Clyde asked Torterra; he nods in response before turning towards Hippopotas. "Torterra, use Razor Leaf!" Torterra releases green leaves from the tree on his shell and they hit Hippopotas, dealing super effective damage. Hippopotas charges at Torterra and bites him, dealing damage; Torterra begins to slump.
"I think that was Crunch." said Penny.
"Torterra, use Crunch right back!" said Clyde. Torterra walks to Hippopotas and bites it, dealing damage, and weakening its defense. Hippopotas digs into the sand and disappears.
"I think Hippopotas used Dig." said Penny. Torterra looks around until Hippopotas bursts out of the ground and rams Torterra, knocking him back.
"Torterra, use Mega Drain!" said Clyde. Torterra releases a green beam of energy from his tree and it hits Hippopotas, dealing super effective damage while draining its energy, and healing some of Torterra's wounds; Hippopotas collapses onto the ground. Clyde takes out an empty pokeball and throws it at Hippopotas, hitting it, and sucking it in. The pokeball wiggled until it clicked. "Yes! Hippopotas is mine."
"Good work, Clyde." said Penny. After Hippopotas' pokeball vanishes and gets transported to storage, Clyde looks up his Hippopotas' information on his Rotom Phone.
"This says Hippopotas is a boy, he knows Sand Attack, Tackle, Bite, Yawn, Sand Tomb, Dig, Crunch, Sandstorm, Take Down, and Roar." said Clyde. "He has the Sand Stream ability which makes a sandstrom when he enters into battle."
With Leni and Arven, they were looking around while the blonde-haired Loud was training her Pokemon, motivated by wanting to help Arven obtain the next Herba Mystica, and to protect her only brother from the Explorers.
Leni's Eevee learned Copycat, her Vulpix learned Imprison, her Kirlia learned Calm Mind, her Dolliv learned Energy Ball, and her Finneon learned Safeguard.
As the two explored the desert area, they see a Pokemon that looked like a small orange chick that's body is covered in a yellow cloth with a lavender triangle between its eyes, as well as a pink cloth under that one, as well as a pair of white frills coming out of the top of its head, hovering over the desert sand.
"It's so cute!" said Leni as she points her Rotom Phone towards the Pokemon.
"Flittle, the Frill Pokemon. Flittle's toes levitate about half an inch above the ground because of the psychic power emitted from the frills on the Pokémon's belly." said Leni's Rotom Phone.
"I am, totes, catching it." said Leni before she waves her Kirlia over so she can battle the Flittle that notices her and gets ready to fight.
"You got this, Leni." said Arven.
"Kirlia, use Psybeam!" said Leni. Her Kirlia fires a beam of psychic energy at the Flittle, hitting it, but not doing a lot of damage.
"Flittle's a psychic type." said Arven.
"Oh." said Leni.
"Don't worry about it, Leni." said Arven. "At least you know now." The Flittle suddenly starts to wobble as it hovered.
"Flittle's confused now." said Leni. The Flittle reacts by letting out a cry that releases soundwaves that hits Kirlia, doing damage to her; it also floats quickly towards Kirlia and rams into her. "Kirlia, use Draining Kiss!" Her Kirlia moves over to the Flittle and kisses it on the forehead, draining it of stamina as she does and uses it to heal herself. The Flittle tries to move towards Kirlia at fast speed again, but it rams into a nearby rock instead, hurting itself, and falling to the ground.
Leni quickly takes an empty pokeball from her backpack and tosses it at the Flittle, hitting it, and sucking it in; the pokeball wiggles a few times before clicking.
"You did it, Leni!" said Arven.
"Great job, Kirlia." Leni says to her Pokemon; Kirlia does a curtsy before she freezes up and begins to glow.
"She's evolving!" said Arven. The two watch as Leni's Kirlia begins to change; when she was done, she was taller, her body now resembled a white flowing gown, her hair now curls over her face and down the side of her head, she had a horn protrusion coming out of her chest and back, and her arms and legs were longer and slender.
"She's beautiful." said Leni as she points her Rotom Phone at her newly evolved Kirlia.
"Gardevoir, the Embrace Pokemon, and the final evolved form of Ralts. To protect its Trainer, it will expend all its psychic power to create a small black hole." said Leni's Rotom Phone.
"And she learned Dazzling Gleam after evolving." said Leni. She then looks up her new Flittle's information. "And my new Flittle's a boy, he knows Growl, Peck, Confusion, Baby-Doll Eyes, Disarming Voice, Quick Attack, Psybeam, and Pluck; he has the Frisk ability which lets him know if a Pokemon he's battling is holding an object."
"Congratulations, Leni." said Arven.
"Thanks, Arven." said Leni. "I hope my Pokemon will be strong enough to take on the Titan Pokemon so we can get the Herba Mystica."
"Me, too." said Arven.
Lynn, who was motivated after her battle with Sidian, trained her Pokemon to prepare them for the next time they face him. Her Crabrawler learned Reversal, her Heracross learned Pin Missile, her Zangoose Crush Claw and False Swipe, her Voltorb learned Self-Destruct, which she vowed to never use, and Light Screen, her Pawniard learned Metal Sound, and her Meditite learned Zen Headbutt and Hi Jump Kick.
"I'll be ready for Sidian the next time I see him." said Lynn. She saw something from the corner of her eye; she looks to see a green, round, cactus-like Pokemon with club-like arms, and a yellow flower bud on top. Lynn takes out her Rotom Phone and points it at the Pokemon.
"Cacnea, the Cactus Pokemon. It prefers harsh environments, such as deserts. It can survive for 30 days on water stored in its body." said Lynn's Rotom Phone.
"I like how round it is; I'm catching this one." said Lynn. "Hey, Pawniard, want to help out?" Pawniard nods before running in front of Lynn; Cacnea sees them and begins spinning its arm. "Pawniard, use Leer!" Pawniard glares at Cacnea and her eyes glowed red, weakening Cacnea's defense. Cacnea spins around, tossing sand off the desert floor into Pawniard's eyes, lowering her accuracy.
"I'm guessing that was Sand Attack." said Lynn. "Pawniard, use Metal Claw!" Pawniard runs at Cacnea and tries to slash it with her arm blade, but misses. Cacnea fires multiple sees out of its mouth and they hit Pawniard, but not dealing much damage. "Pawniard, try Metal Claw again!" Pawniard runs at Cacnea and slashes it with her arm blade, dealing damage to Cacnea; Pawniard begins surging with energy. Cacnea fires glowing needles out of the spikes on the end of its arms at Pawniard, but they bounce off her.
"I'm guessing that was a poison type move; those don't work on Pawniard." said Lynn. "Pawniard, use Fury Cutter!" Pawniard runs at Cacnea and slashes it with her arm blade, dealing super effective damage. Cacnea fires a seed out of its mouth and onto Pawniard; vines come out of the seed and they wrap around Pawniard; it drains only a little energy out of Pawniard and Cacnea absorbs it, healing only a little of its wounds.
"Pawniard, Fury Cutter once more!" said Lynn. Pawniard runs at Cacnea and slashes it with her arm blade, dealing more damage to Cacnea than the first Fury Cutter did, and knocks Cacnea to the ground. Lynn takes out an empty pokeball and throws it at Cacnea, hitting it, and sucking it in; the pokeball wiggled until it clicked.
"Yeah! Cacnea is mine!" said Lynn. After Cacnea's pokeball vanishes and gets transported to storage, she uses her Rotom Phone to look up its information. "This says Cacnea's a girl, she knows Poison Sting, Leer, Absorb, Growth, Leech Seed, Sand Attack, Bullet Seed, Power Trip, and Ingrain; she has the Sand Veil ability which raises her evasion during sandstorms."
Lana was training her Pokemon alongside Lynn and Lucy also. Her Grimer Sludge Wave, her Arbok learned Acid Spray and Sludge Bomb, her Salazzle learned Venoshock, her Rabsca learned Lunge, her Whiscash got stronger; she also took it easy on her Mankey and her other Pokemon support the pig moneky one because she wasn't at as high of a level than her others , but she did learn Swagger, Cross Chop, and Assurance.
She soon sees a Pokemon that looked like two gray stone slabs that were brown at the bottoms of them, standing vertically with a horizontal one with a face on it and two arms made of linked rocks attached to each side of it standing on top of them.
"What's that?" asked Lana as she takes out her Rotom Phone and points it at the stone Pokemon.
"Stonjourner, the Big Rock Pokemon. The elemental composition of the rocks that form its body were found to match the bedrock of a land far away from this Pokémon's habitat." said Lana's Rotom Phone.
"You look like a rock type." Lana said to the Stonjourner, getting its attention. "Mankey, here's another sparring partner for ya." Mankey hops around before running out in front of Lana; the Stonjourner, sensing a battle coming up gets into a defensive position.
"Show it who's boss, Mankey!" said Lynn from nearby.
"Time to rock this rock." said Lana. "Mankey, use Leer!" Her Mankey glares harshly at the Stonjourner, making it nervous, and lowering its defense; it reacts by stomping down onto Lana's Pokemon with one of its feet.
"That looked painful." said Lynn.
"Mankey, use Low Kick!" said Lana. Her Mankey launches a kick at one of the Stonjourner's legs, dealing super effective damage, and fall to its side; it gets up and throws a bunch of rocks at Mankey. "Dodge them and use Cross Chop!" Her Mankey uses her acrobatic abilities to jump from each of the rocks of Stonjourner's attack and right at it, striking it with her arms in a cross-shaped double strike, dealing super effective damage along with landing a critical hit, knocking it out.
"Nice." said Lynn.
"Good job, Mankey!" said Lana. The sounds of stomping draws her and Lynn's attention to several Stonjourners who were coming out from behind a large rock formation and look at the downed one before glaring at the two Loud sisters and Mankey.
"I think that Stonjourner that Mankey took down is there friend." said Lynn.
"And it looks like they don't like what she did." said Lana. Her Mankey hops around and begins beckoning the Stonjourners to her.
"Looks like Mankey wants more battles." said Lynn. "I can relate to that."
"Yeah! Let's do this, Mankey!" said Lana before she and her Mankey charge at the oncoming Stonjourners.
Meanwhile, in the shade of a large plateau; Lucy was training up her Pokemon also. Her Greavard learned Crunch, her Mimikyu learned Hone Claws, her Haunter learned Night Shade, her Sableye learned Fury Swipes and Knock Off, her Shuppet learned Hex and Curse, and her Gothita got stronger. During the training, her Gothita began glowing.
"Gothita is evolving." said Lucy. She, Lynn, and Lana watched as Gothita began to grow and change shape. When Gothita stopped glowing, Gothorita had a more humanoid appearance, her body was almost entirely black except for a light purple face, she looked like she was wearing a dress with white bows on it, as well as four white bows on her head, and had two round black buns on each side of her head. Lucy takes out her Rotom Phone and points it at her newly evolved Gothita.
"Gothorita, the Manipulate Pokemon, and the evolved form of Gothita. This Pokémon will hypnotize children to put them to sleep before carrying them away. Be wary of nights when the starlight is bright." said Lucy's Rotom Phone.
"Perhaps the next time we are in Levincia, I will buy a Twisted Spoon for you, Gothorita." said Lucy. She suddenly sees a Tera Den nearby. "Hmm. I sense ghostly energy in there." She returns her Pokemon to their pokeballs and she walks to the Tera Den; she enters it and finds herself looking at a crystallized, green Pokemon with a serpentine body with a pair of long limbs, a dark green head with large horns with pink tips, and a purple crystal ghost on top of it. Lucy points her Rotom Phone at the Pokemon.
"Dreepy, the Lingering Pokemon. In the evening, groups of Dreepy will fly at high speeds over the ocean and poke at Pokémon in the water for fun." said Lucy's Rotom Phone.
"This says you're part ghost, Dreepy." said Lucy before taking a pokeball out of her wasit. "I will capture you; Haunter, go." She throws Haunter's pokeball and releases her. The Dreepy flies at Haunter with incredible speed, but it goes right through her.
"That looked like Quick Attack; fortunately, normal moves don't affect ghost Pokemon." said Lucy. "Haunter, use Lick." Haunter floats to Dreepy and licks it, dealing super effective damage; Dreepy begins to twitch. "I believe Dreepy is paralyzed. Haunter, use Hex." Haunter raises her arms and forms a ball of black energy with a red eye in the middle of it; the eye releases dark blue rings of energy that hits Dreepy, dealing massive damage. "Hex does more damage to Pokemon with status conditions." Dreepy fights through its paralysis and bites Haunter, dealing super effective damage.
"That was Bite; Haunter, use Payback." said Lucy. Haunter flies at Dreepy and punches it, dealing super effective damage. Dreepy tries to attack Haunter, but paralysis stops it. "Haunter, use Night Shade." Haunter fires black beams of energy out of her eyes and they hit Dreepy, dealing super effective damage. Dreepy fights through its paralysis and flies at Haunter; it makes a scary face at Haunter, scaring her, and dealing super effective damage.
"That looked like Astonish." said Lucy. "Haunter, use Shadow Punch." Haunter punches the air and a shadowy fist comes out of Haunter's fist and it hits Dreepy, dealing super effective damage, and shattering Dreepy's Tera Form; Dreepy falls to the ground. Lucy throws an empty pokeball that crystallizes on the way, and it hit Dreepy, sucking it in; the pokeball wiggled until it returns to normal before clicking. "I caught a Dreepy." She soon found herself back in the desert. "Ugh, the sun." She sees three Big Mushrooms and several berries and picks them up.
"Did you catch a Pokemon, Lucy?" asked Lana as she and Lynn walk over to her.
"Yes; I caught a Dreepy." said Lucy. She uses her Rotom Phone to look up Dreepy's information. "My Dreepy is a boy, he knows Bite, Quick Attack, Astonish, and Infestation; he has the Clear Body ability which prevents his stats from being lowered."
Moments later, the group were sitting in the shade of the plateau, eating sandwiches while the Pokemon ate food and drank water out of bowls.
"Man, we are training hard." said Lincoln.
"This training is thirsty work." said Clyde before drinking out of a canteen.
'Training in a desert will do that to you." said Lana before drinking from her own water canteen.
"It's worth it to prepare to take on that Titan Pokemon." said Lynn.
"So we can get that Herba Mystica and help Mabosstiff." said Leni, making Arven smile. After the group and their Pokemon finished eating, Lincoln and his sisters and friends returned their Pokemon to their pokeballs.
"Let's find that Titan Pokemon." said Lincoln, making everyone else cheer in response.
Lincoln and his sisters and friends have been preparing to face the Titan Pokemon in the Asado Desert. Will they be able to defeat it and get another Herba Mystica? Wait and find out.
