Welcome back to The Injustice Wars. Last time, Dracia and Sulfur addressed their mutual worry over one another given their new responsibilities coming up at the end of the week. Dracia found the solution in an ancient ritual to create things called Bloodpacts. And the ritual was, surprisingly, a complete success, leaving both Dracia and Sulfur with a little pendant thing that connects them for eternity. Adorable if a little strange. But anyways, this time, we're back to the actual conflict. How's that going to go? Read on to discover...

(Our scene kicks off right in the action in Metropolis, where the Legion and Republic are fighting off Brainiac's forces, trying to prevent the collection of the city by the Coluan. Blaze is leading the action with Belial Aether as her right hand demigod and so far the battle is not going as well as we'd hope it would be as Belial Aether beheads a drone)

Belial Aether: These things are endless!

Blaze: (Ripping the arm off another drone) I really shouldn't be surprised by that, and yet I am!

Supergirl: Brainiac has done this to hundreds of worlds, probably has millions of drones just waiting to be used.

Blaze: I seriously can't think of a way for this to get worse!

(But just as she says that, because of course it's when that statement is uttered, Cheetah jumps into the scene, tackling Blaze to the ground)

Cheetah: I'm thinking it actually can.

Blaze: And here I thought you were only after Diana.

Cheetah: All of this is just a means to draw her out. (Extends her claws) I admit, I didn't really want to get rid of you. You reminded me of better times. But alas, here we are.

(Just as Cheetah is about to claw Blaze's throat out, she's suddenly blocked by a pair of katanas, and wielding them is Nekoto Wismer, the arguably most underutilized of the Republic)

Nekoto Wismer: Claws off, lady!

(Cheetah breaks out of the clash and backflips into a position to fight back)

Cheetah: The Goddess has agents across the multiverse apparently.

Nekoto Wismer: I don't know which Kami you're talking about, but that's not my business anyways. I'm just a nekomata.

Cheetah: This should be interesting.

(Thankfully, Nekoto Wismer distracts Cheetah in battle, long enough for Aero and Raiden to arrive and help Blaze to her feet)

Aero: You alright, Miss Blaze?

Blaze: Doing better now. Thanks, Aero. (To Raiden) Any luck on your end?

Raiden: There seems to be an access port to the Skull Ship within the thruster array.

Aero: That sounds like our best chance then.

Blaze: Then we need to find a way in there. (To Supergirl) Kara, with me!

(With that, Blaze and Supergirl take off into the air and soon enough spot the access port Raiden spotted)

Blaze: That looks like our way in!

Supergirl: Then let's ge in there!

(Meanwhile, within the Skull Ship, Brainiac and Grodd observe the battle.)

Gorilla Grodd: It looks like they've spotted a way into the ship.

Brainiac: It does not matter. They will not get in.

(With that, Brainiac activates some sort of shield around the Skull Ship, with it forming just as Blaze and Supergirl are able to hit it.)

Blaze: (Touching the force field) Because of course he has a force field.

Supergirl: Tell me you've got a way to break it.

Blaze: Not that I know of!

Brainiac: (Projecting himself onto the force field) Do not attempt to breach this force field, it will only end in failure.

Blaze: Well since you asked so nicely... FORGET IT!

(With that, Blaze and Supergirl start punching the force field, trying to break it with brute force alone somehow.)

Brainiac: Perhaps this will teach you to listen.

(With that, Brainiac electrifies the force field, shocking Blaze and Supergirl out of the sky. As they fall, they don't appear to be regaining consciousness enough to control their descent, but just as they're about to hit the ground, they just land softly on the ground, their fall distance magically reduced to nothing allowing them to land with no damage, and only at this point to they regain consciousness.)

Blaze: (Realizing they're unharmed) Wait, how'd we both survive that? I mean, I get you could survive that, Kara. But...

?: Perhaps I can answer that.

(With that, Blaze and Supergirl turn around, and standing behind them is Black Diamond)

Blaze: Who are you?

Black Diamond: A wandering warrior, searching for my eternal opponent. (Looks up at the Skull Ship) And it seems he has allies. (Draws his katana after helping Blaze and Supergirl to their feet.) Please, allow me to join you in this battle.

Blaze: Hey, we're going to need all the help we can get, feel free to jump in.

Black Diamond: Then jump in I shall.

(With that, Black Diamond charges into battle, leaving both Blaze and Supergirl confused as to who he is.)

Supergirl: Who the...

Blaze: Right now's not the time to look a gift horse in the mouth. We've got to get back in the fight.

(And with that, Supergirl realizes there's no point in arguing as both rush back into action. The battle resumes as our scene ends for today)

And that looks like a good place to wrap up for now. The battle kicks off straightaway, and I'm really using this to introduce some major plot points that come up later. The Nekoto and Cheetah thing may seem random, but reading other Nullverse stories between both Null's page and mine will clear up what's going on there, though we will get to it as the battle progresses. Next time, the battle of Metropolis continues on. Will the addition of Black Diamond make any change either way? Tune in next time to find out! Same time... same channel!
