I think my last chapter I uploaded too soon, because I kept changing and adding some things to it. But to celebrate the new year of 2025 I uploaded another chapter.

Hava's Choice

Hava noticed all the sad faces her friends had and she gave them each an encouraging smile. Fairy Godmother gives Belle a hug before bowing to Beast and taking his crown as Ben knelt down in front of her. She then placed the crown on Ben's head. Ben looked up at his father who gave him a nod. Fairy Godmother then went over to grab her wand and stood in front of Ben.

"Do you solemnly swear to govern the people of Auardon with justice and mercy for as long as you shall reign?" Fairy Godmother asked.

"I do solemnly swear," Ben said. Mal kept her eyes trained on the wand as she watches Fairy Godmother go through the motions. She can't grab it even as she has the thought in her head.

"Then it is my honor and joy to bless our new king," Fairy Godmother said. Before she could do anymore the wand was snatched out of her hand, and it wasn't Mal, it was Jane. It sparked and moved around as it was being waved wildly. The crowd gasped and at some point, a stream came out and it broke the barrier unknown to those in Auradon.

"Child what are you doing?" Fairy Godmother asked in a panic voice.

"If you won't make me beautiful I'll do it myself. Bibbidi bobbidi boo," Jane cried as she waved the wand around wildly. Ben ran away from his parents and stood in front of Mal protecting her.

"Take cover," Beast cried. Mal broke free from Ben's protection and ran towards Jane. She tried to wrestle the wand from Jane.

"Careful Mal," Belle said as Mal tried to wrestle the wand from Jane.

Mal managed to steal the wand back from Jane and held it out in front of her. The crowd gasped. Up in the balcony Hava and Carlos were the first two to leave, followed by Jay and Evie.

"Sorry Emrys," Hava said passing Merlin's grandson and following the others to the doors and then racing down the stairs.

Mal was stunned still holding the wand in front of her while Jane hid into the crowd of parents and guards. This is what was asked of them so why did she feel so weird. She was so confused. Ben moved in front of Mal calmly.

"Mal give me the wand," Ben said calmly but firmly.

"Stand back," Mal said trying to give her tone as much authority as she could manage.

"It's okay," Ben said gently.

"Ben, I said stand back!" Mal cried.

"I told you so!" Audrey shouted from the crowd as she steps forward causing Mal to turn to her. Audrey had been pulled back by her mother and grandmother when she did.

At this point the other four villain kids had gotten through the doors and were racing towards Mal. Carlos was directly behind Mal with Hava on one end and Jay on the other, and Evie in the middle.

"Let's go," Carlos said softly to Mal.

"Revenge time," Jay adds even though he really didn't want to do it..

"You really want to do this?" Ben asked.

"We have no choice Ben. Our parents..." Mal began.

"Your parents' made their choice," Ben said roughly, "now you make yours," he finished more gently this time. He put his arms down, straightened and then stared at Mal. Mal was stuck and in the long pause that followed she looked up at Belle and Beast. Both were watching her intently. Then there was Fairy Godmother who was also watching with worry on her face.

"I think I want to be good," Mal said uncertainly.

"You are good," Ben said. He felt a surge of relief that his gut had been right. If he could turn them good then maybe they could get through this without anyone getting hurt.

"How do you know that?!" Mal shouts as she struggles.

"Because...because I am listening to my heart," Ben said his tone gentle.

"I want to listen to my heart too. And my heart is telling me we are not our parents," Mal said lowering the wand, she turned back around to look at her four friends behind her. Looking at Jay with a smile she said, "I mean stealing things doesn't make you happy. Tourney and victory pizza with the team makes you happy." Jay smiles agreeing. "And you." She looks at Carlos. "Scratching Dude's belly makes you happy, who would have thought?" Carlos gave her a smile. She then looked at Evie. "And Evie, you do not have to play dumb to get a guy, you are so smart." Evie sniffled shaking her head a little and smiled too. Finally she looked over at Hava who was looking at them sadly. "And Hava, you never had to prove anything, you have a parent who loves you and wants you to be happy." Hava looked down at the wand and then back up to Mal who continued. "And I don't wanna take over the world with evil, it doesn't make me happy. I wanna go to school and be with Ben." Ben looks hopeful at Mal before she turns back at him showing the ring on her finger. "Because Ben makes me really happy." Then she turned back to her friends. "Us being friends makes me really happy, not destroying things, I choose good you guys." Mal held out her fist to them.

Jay then put his fist in as well and said, "I choose good too."

"I choose good." Evie added.

"So... just to be clear... we don't have to worry about how really mad our parents will be?" Carlos asked. Everyone started laughing except for Hava because she knew Carlos wasn't joking. "Because they're going to be really really mad."

"Your parents can't reach you here." Ben assured Carlos stepping forward a little.

"Okay then... good." Carlos put his fist in.

Now all eyes were on Hava, the Horned Princess looked down at the wand in Mal's hand. She then looked up at her friends who were all smiling at her motioning her to join them. It was then that Hava knew that it was her turn to make her choice and she knew what she had to do.

Hava sighed and then smiled at her friends. "I love you guys, you're my best friends and you're right Mal. You're right about everything that you just said, especially about my father."

They all smiled at her and waited for her to join them but instead Hava's face turned dark. She then teleported the wand out of Mal's hand and into hers.

"And that is why I can't and won't betray him," Hava states. Everyone gasped and looked at Hava in fear. "I can't leave him there, not there. I'm sorry."

"HAVA NO!" Mal screams but Hava disappeared into a puff of red smoke before anyone could do anything.

When Hava returned to the island, she was greeted by her father and Creeper.

"Princess you've returned!" Creeper exclaims running over to Hava.

"I missed you too Creeper," Hava said picking him up and hugging him.

"I see you succeeded," The Horned King said with pride, "You have the wand."

"No. You do," Hava said offering the wand to her father.

"I had a strong feeling you wouldn't be doing what your friends did," The Horned King said as he took the wand from Hava.

"I left you here once, that's not going to happen again," Hava states, making her father smile at her.
