Part 1

"Say Please and Thank You"

"Has anyone ever told you that this part of the job sucks? And you two are just making it worse?" Caenis grumpily said as she was being fitted into another set of 'designer' clothes that Medea of Colchis had just finished. The witch herself, while wearing her specialized glasses intrinsically and carefully mused every detail imaginable with absolute perfection while Caenis just sighed in defeat, knowing that this would take another hour or two just to get it done.

"Hold still you brute, and please you know for a fact that as much as I would gladly wish to change your entire aesthetic to become more attuned to my tastes, I know you're not going to be happy about it…"

Caenis huffs as she looks at her.

"Damn right, I wouldn't."

"And Master isn't going to fund any of my dream projects with both Artoria and her son so I'm forced to adapt and dare I say it, acclimate to serving people's fashion sense that's more attuned to themselves…" Medea grumbled. "…but I admit it's quite the learning and intuitive process and much as your specialized tastes can be, you're not really averse to anything I've made thus far."

"Well yeah. So far you haven't put me in those poofy, stupidly womanly dresses except the very first time you even attempted that… but eh… you've done great work so far."

"I am just happy for the praise." Medea lightly said with sarcasm.

To Caenis, however, with everything that's happened thus far, she actually felt great with the memories she had in this summoning. With her master, Wodime. It helped that one of her most unforgettable memories was in that one dance that had her feel freedom unlike anything before.

It was a nearly perfect night, and one contributor to that was her wonderful set of garments that she, her master, and Medea had meticulously turned into a perfect project. She didn't even mind that the old witch kept berating her at how poor her fashion sense was, for she did create something worthwhile that made her so, genuinely happy.

"Hey… I never managed to thank you for that night back then."

"And this is important, why?" Medea said as she tried to brush her off.

"Well, I guess I never thought you and I would actually agree on something, even if that something was on a dress of all things. I didn't really expect that at all."

"Did Master tell you to say that?" Medea said, continuing to brush her off.

It only managed to make Caenis a tad bit irritated.

"Urgh, you do know that I am trying to be genuinely thankful here, right?!" she said with a heightened volume in her voice, but not enough that it intimidated Medea. Not that anything intimidated the witch, given everything she's done as a servant as well as when she was alive.

However, in this particular case, she did not expect Caenis to be like this. With a raised brow she paused in whatever she was doing and looked at her.

"You're really saying thank you?" the Witch of Colchis asked, almost in suspicion.

Caenis managed a sigh, given that she truly was in this scenario.

"Yes." She admitted which made Medea stare at her.

There was a slight pause as the Witch crossed both her arms while keeping her eyes on her while standing back at her full height, leveling with her in some form, even if she was shorter compared to the Tyrant of Thessaly.

"That's a first. Especially coming from you of all people."

"What's that supposed to mean?!" Caenis said, almost offended at her words.

"What do you think, you damn brute?" Medea teased as she smirked. "But… hm. The fact that you were even capable of saying thank you is a surprise on its own. You're not getting soft on me aren't you?"

Caenis' response was a deadpan frown as her left eye twitched. She was having a relatively peaceful day, with most of it having been a day with her master, an issue or two at Coney Island with a bunch of kids that wished to meet her, and best of all a relaxing sparring session with Heracles (who had taken that boy named Hughie for his next set of training in hand to hand). She didn't want to blow a fuse nor ruin the day by being irritated with the Witch, least of all her teasing when she was legitimately trying to thank her.

This was the last important thing on her itinerary that day that would probably close it, and given that the new hire Ashley (annoying as that girl was too) had told her of her appointment at a late-night talk show, she had to be calm.

Especially since she was going to represent her master of all people tonight.

Even if she was recommended by him to act naturally and be herself, she had to present a front that blended both her own sensibilities and that of Wodime's.

"Say what you want bitch but what I said stands."

"Oh no… I thought you were joking at first there, so I need to hear those magic words again before I continue with all of this." Medea gestured to her still-in-progress wardrobe. "Unless you want to be boring and unmotivated on representing us."

"No. I do not." She admitted with defeat, adding enough fuel for Medea's teasing sadly.

"I'm still surprised you even humored a talk show in the first place. You're not the type to be on one of those things. Not that you're as terrible as someone like Heracles' who'd probably be so humble he'd bore people to death or that bastard Jason… who's head is so high up his ass he might as well make us all seem detestable, not that it isn't true mind you."

Sighing again, Caenis frowned at her. "I wanted to do my part."

Medea then started to stare at her, with a degree of skepticism and disbelief. As well was being judgmental enough that Caenis started to feel her irritation hike up a bit more.

"What?! What's so goddamn wrong with what I just said?" she angrily asked.

"Nothing, really. But… I severely doubt that's the extent of that reason of yours. You were never the most tactful out of all of us, so I never expected you of all people to be very concerned about this, dare I say determined, or even focused to see it through."

Suddenly, the confused and puzzled look on Medea's face turned into a smile.

As if an epiphany graced her finally.

"Fuck you. I did my time as a ruler too damn it. I know what politics are, I have experience in them, even if I suck at it." Caenis admitted with a bit of spite in her words.

"Yes… so good that the local centaurs in your country staged a revolt and you died humorously by being planted into the ground like a damn tree."

"Oh, that's far enough you stupid bitch! Need I remind you it was Zeus who sent and supported those bastards to overthrow me, and I didn't die! I became a Phoenix, remember?!" she said, not even caring to keep her pose as she now stood inches away from Medea, close enough that she dwarfed her a bit in size to look intimidating.

However, at the same time, the Witch was not bothered at all. She stared at Caenis, knowing that her anger was more of a bluff than anything.

"Yes… because of course none of the people you ruled over complained of you to the point that they had to pray for divine intervention to save them." Medea sarcastically said. The moment she said that the Hero of Lapith blew her fuse.

"THAT'S IT! IF YOU WANTED THIS FROM THE START, WHY DON'T I-

"I want you to be honest with me, Caenis… you like him, don't you?"

Caenis realized that her fist, which was inches away from demolishing that smirk on the Witch's face froze up completely. She too, the moment those words hit her deeply.

Instead of teasing her further, knowing that she had a lot to do that day, and she didn't want a fight to break her oh-so-precious designer studio, the Witch of Colchis relented with a sigh.

"If you had told me that at the start, you know I would not have said anything."

"W-What? And fuck you, the hell do you mean by that?" Caenis said as she got out of her trance. Not even noticing that her vestigial animal ears and slightly blushing face alluded to Medea's acknowledgment of the truth of this entire thing she was doing.

"Don't act like an idiot, because I know you aren't… though at the same time, you and nearly every other brute in the Argo think more through violence than subtlety so perhaps you don't realize it yet. Or maybe you do, and this is all just burgeoning feelings that only now just show its face."

"I… damn it," Caenis said in defeat as she sighed, crossing her own arms on her chest.

"But I have to ask… why go this far? Since that night at the dance, you were more… kinder I guess, if that's the right word. A lot more friendly, a lot more relaxed than your prior self, and the whole reason your getup and everything else after works, is because you were literally true to yourself."

"What the hell do you mean by that?"

"Caenis, you do realize master isn't going to force you into anything that you aren't comfortable with, right? And similarly, you don't need to go to this show. I'm not the most optimistic of people but our master values our opinion more than he cares to admit. By Tartarus, I can even say that he values your opinion more so than others, maybe with the exception of Heracles, but that's beside the point…"

Medea then inches a bit closer to emphasize her next few words.

"…you don't need to do anything that's uncomfortable for you because our master is already happy with the parts that we play in his grand plan. To him, you've already done so much that something like this is unnecessary."

Caenis was left in contemplation at her words, before quickly deciding something that she was very much determined by. Regardless of how she felt about things.

"I still want to do it. If… if only to get some of the load off his back." She said with genuine honesty as Medea blinked at her words.

"Oh. Alright then." Medea said before ultimately smiling. "Then we have to go back to work to make sure everything's perfect enough, right?"

"Fuck… yeah, sure… whatever," Caenis said in agreement as she raised her arms back again to her sides while Medea fixed her glasses and grabbed the tape measurement so that they could continue. Thankfully, Caenis' recent actions didn't crease or ruin most of the prototype that she was wearing.

"Oh my, you truly are determined to do this."

"Can we please stop with this and move on?"

"Darling, you do realize that if you want this to be done right, you have to be extra kind and patient to your seamstress, yes? Otherwise, I'll be doing a poor job." Medea teased with a mischievous grin.

"Fuck you. Seriously, fuck you."

"Those are not the magic words, dear. Do I need to remind you of them?" Medea teased again, her big-ass glasses emphasizing her petty eyelash winks.

"Gods Fucking Damn it… FINE." She angrily said before turning to the sound of giggling behind Medea, where a young woman was trying to hide her chagrin while holding a tablet in her hands. "And you, stop laughing!"

"Sorry ma'am… I uh, couldn't resist." Ashley, their new associate Public Relations Manager said as she tried to keep a straight face on. One that Medea supported.

"See? Even dear Ashley loves the idea of our dear Caenis being this honest with herself." Medea teased as Caenis closed her eyes in annoyance, trying to extend her patience.

"I hate you both. You, most of all, Medea." Caenis grounded out.

"Oh, come on, just say it Caenis."

"Fine. Can I please count on you to make sure that everything turns out well?" Caenis said with as much force as she could manage as Medea and Ahsley giggled together.

Thankfully, the Witch didn't want to tease her further as she now started back again at doing her thing. "See? Wasn't that easy?"

"Go to hell…" Caenis said with a defeated tone as Ashley smiled at her behest.

"Now… wasn't that a breath of fresh air huh, dear Ashley? Most people tend to be better around when they're honest with themselves."

"Yes ma'am. I appreciate it a lot." Ashley said that she found it a lot more comfortable when the egos of every client in Olympia weren't there to just scare her half to death. If anything, it was an amazing experience so far, without the fear of stepping on a few egotistic toes, as even the more prideful members of the flock were more understanding and caring for her well-being.

Plus, she was actually working with real heroes. Or real enough heroes that acted like normal people despite their fame. And their varying, eccentric personalities. The kind that didn't threaten to kill her at any possible moment with just a wrong word or two.

It was more than a breath of fresh air, actually.

"Anyway, I accept that genuine sentiment of thanks, Caenis, but only if you do me a small favor that will benefit both of us in this venture."

Caenis eyed her suspiciously as Ashley watched.

"That favor being?"

"You sponsor my clothing line and premium figure collectibles on the show." Medea nonchalantly said, only to make Caenis give her a judgmental stare. "What? You said you'd help on easing everyone's load, right? That's one of them, and if anything, my hobby and precious work getting the recognition it deserves on a wider scale is helping to spread Olympia's name."

Seeing that she made a good point, Caenis nodded. However, that was on another list of things that she was sadly not good at. Even back then as a ruler, the finer details of negotiation (which included being able to sell goods) were something she was severely lacking in skill.

But since she indeed owed the Witch a favor, she obliged.

"Alright then. Don't expect me to be that good at it, you know how shit I am at that."

"Oh, spare me, you're the most popular hero in the world at the moment through sheer exposure alone. The fact that you even accepted something like this is sure to draw in people all over. Isn't that right, Ashley?" Medea said as Ashley nodded profusely.

"Absolutely, in many popularity polls, you're ahead by quite a lot of points, even above Homelander! But that's because of the male demographic though it's only by a small margin with the female demographic similarly high through an absurd level, so-

Ashley continued to rant in fine, coherent but boring detail about Caenis' perspective of her statistics in the broader market, but she cared less about it all while Medea smiled to her torment.

"Scruffy…" Caenis called out to her to stop her avalanche of words. "Any advice on some of the questions that are going to be thrown at me?"

"Stand a bit more still to the right, Caenis. So that this part of the garment would look exquisite, and Ashley, once I'm finished you will be assisting in laying down the finishing touches, okay?" Medea intruded midway as Caenis shifted herself to follow.

"Of course, Ma'am! I mean, yes Miss Caenis, and Miss Medea, I'll make sure to do both of that, on the double!" Ashley excitedly said that even though she was visibly overwhelmed, her determination and heart were all there while the two servants watched her scramble to do as she was told.

"Are we sure she's clinically sane?" Caenis asked.

"Would you believe me that she confessed to working here being the best thing that's ever happened to her since having her first kiss stolen?" Medea said as Caenis huffed in interest.

Ashley continued to brief the Lancer with a powerful sense of energy as if she were a young kid finally achieving her lifelong dream while Medea and Caenis worked it out.

And strangely enough, all three women enjoyed the rest of their day forward.

With Caenis having an uncannily successful interview with Ashley's help.

Yes… she was living the life with both satisfaction and safety.

She wouldn't need to pull any of the hairs out of her head through stress and pain like she did back in Vought. No siree…

Topic: Caenis/Lancer on Late Night with Gareth Evander

So, since the show itself and the mods here haven't opened a thread on them yet, rejoice Olympia Fans! Or I guess, Caenis simps- I mean, fans hehe (not like anyone of us here aren't one of those two). Our favorite Lancer has gone on stage for her VERY FIRST Interview on camera! Officially! In a show! She's finally done it!

No longer must we suffer trying to make compilations of all recorded instances both official or not of her having saying anything outside of like... fan conventions that Olympia hosts or whoever's lucky enough to talk to her when she's in a job.

And damn, I have to say... this was probably one of the most memorable episodes on Gareth Evander's show (and I don't even like his show!).

So go ahead, discuss, talk, and swoon for our beloved Chocolate Empress for the glory of Amazon love worldwide!

Edit: Yeah I said that, who's gonna stop me?! huh?!

Firstly, ew Boyin'Blue stop that! Even though we're all basically prostrating upon her feet, that's still going into the realm of discomfort even for me...

But hey!

You go girl! Even though I am shocked this is her very first interview, she basically manhandled Gareth like SHE was the host! I've never seen any other of Vought's heroes do that.

Best of all?! Look at her style. Caster's done it again, or should we call her Medea? I was already in on her normal fashion line but having something that's like Caenis' drip? Ugh! I need to buy that vest pronto! And those collectibles... those figurines!

Are you telling me THOSE ARE ALL HANDMADE? Even the Black Knight and Red Saber one?!

Fuck! my wallet's toast this month.

Man, Caenis was FIRE. She crushed that interview. Her first one, too! She was awkward here and there, but it just made her feel more... real? Like, not scripted the way some of these other celebs are.

►LaSingle (Olympia Nerd)

Replied On August 11th, 2019:

Yeah, it's so rare to see someone that confident without coming off as fake. Just... all her swagger. Even Gareth looked kinda stunned. You could see him scrambling to keep up!

Well, all of you are in luck my bois and gals! For our love and support for our beloved Caenis, (and as one of her assistants *wink *wink) she has agreed to do this again, but details are to be shared once she's ready... so while we're at it? Miss Medea has made it so to make a lifelike heroine of her appearance in this show as merchandise! But in limited edition form, let's say... 1/6th scale of format.

For now! With all the appreciation we can muster, I and many in Olympia are thankful for this success.

I hate you BestJobEver9000 but I also love you at the same time. Wait, does this mean you're her personal assistant? Because yes, holy shit you're lucky. We barely know anything about her outside of hero work.

Does she accept our fanmail? hehe

►BestJobEver9000 (Verified Olympia Associate)

Replied On August 11th, 2019:

Yes, but if you're going to ask me if she had help with that performance, amazing as it was, no. That was all her and genuinely speaking, what you see of her on screen, is how she usually is in real life. No fakes or anything of that like at all fellow fan supreme.

Oh, and orkBozz, Olympia does accept fanmail, but sadly due to how busy they are with work more so than being celebrities (unlike a certain company *cough *cough). Anyway, I will bump it up the chain of course, but if you ask me, the one that answers fanmail the most in through my teacher (no really) Caster Medea herself. And as her proud student, I will tell you that she loves feedback on her clothing line, and especially her figure line.

Don't simp, Weakside William. You're embarrassing yourself. 😂 But real talk, even with the whole "tough girl" persona, she's... something. It's not even just her looks—it's the presence. When Caenis speaks, you listen.

She's got that raw "I don't care if you like me" vibe, and somehow that makes her even more attractive. God-tier confidence. I swear, even the Seven are probably taking notes, oh wait, I guess only Homelander now?

►✨Star_Witch_42🔮

If he is her kid, the big question is—who's the dad? Do we have any guesses?

►FreeRadical

Lol, good luck figuring that out. Drake's been seen flirting with half the heroes under Olympia at some point. But honestly, the kid could just be adopted. She doesn't seem like the type to care much about blood relations.

(Olympia Nerd)

Replied On August 23rd, 2019:

Adoption actually makes the most sense. Maybe he's from Atalanta's orphanage program? Drake and Atalanta are tight—there's no way she hasn't helped with those charity initiatives. Kid could be one of the success stories.

►BlackFlag76

Replied On August 23rd, 2019

That would track. Drake's been involved with a ton of charity work, especially in places like the Caribbean and West Africa. If the kid came from one of those areas, it would explain why he fits so seamlessly into her crew—same vibe, same energy.

►Icebreaker09

Replied On August 23rd, 2019:

Y'all are forgetting the most important part: It doesn't matter where the kid came from—what matters is how ridiculously cute the two of them are together. Did you see that video from Bermuda? He called her "Cap'n" with this huge grin, and she ruffled his hair like she's been doing it forever.

►Starbeam89

Replied On August 23rd, 2019:

Drake's always been good with people, though. She's got that effortless charm that makes everyone feel welcome. I bet the kid just fell into her crew naturally. I mean, who wouldn't want to be part of Admiral Drake's fleet?

►GloryToKane (Olympia Nerd)

Icebreaker09 That moment was wholesome as hell. Whether she's his real mom or not, you can tell she adores him. And the kid? He practically worships her. I don't think he left her side the entire time.

►RazorDust

Replied On August 23rd, 2019:

It's more than just charm, though. The way they move together, it's like they've been working as a team for ages. Kid isn't just tagging along—he's actively helping. He was the one who found that pirate hideout off the coast of Florida, right?

►GloryToKane (Olympia Nerd)

Replied On August 23rd, 2019:

Yeah, and apparently he rushed them single-handedly while Drake's crew cut off their escape. No wonder criminals are terrified of them—he's like a one-boy searchlight, and Drake's the storm waiting to hit.

►FlareShot

Replied On August 23rd, 2019:

Seriously, though. How does he keep up with her? Drake's known for her stamina—in more ways than one—and this kid just matches her stride like it's nothing. Makes you wonder if he's more than just "enhanced."

►MoonfallBeliever

Replied On August 23rd, 2019:

I am very shocked that I even convinced myself in making this thread given I don't really follow Superhero trends that much... but JESUS. I cannot overstate the new meta and fucking impossibility that is this 'Archer' winning the SEA tournament just hours ago.

Worse... I heard that he's done it ON EVERY OTHER PROFESSIONAL GAME SCENE too...

Wtf. It's like none of the plays I've made nor anyone in the history of the game ever amounts to anything against him.

Part 2

"Hello again…"

"It's been a lovely day, isn't it Lord Zeus?" Europa said as she poured the now visibly aged Lord of the Skies his tea while he stared at her face. What light that penetrated through the cavern where his main terminal and current body resided seemingly made her visage a lot queenlier and more beautiful despite the rather empty and uninteresting setting they were in.

His son and daughter, the Dioscuri watching peacefully next to them as Europa earlier gave them each a cup of her brewed tea while they were at it. She even insisted that they sit as Zeus commanded them to while she mothered over them as if they were of her own blood.

A trait of hers that this Zeus appreciated and acknowledged to be the reason why he fell in love with her in actual, Proper Human History or as the legends that humans followed next after his imposed exile. Sifting through the knowledge of Wodime's memories and that of both the Lostbelt and Proper Human History's version of himself and his brethren, he now knew the context behind this Europa's summoning and what his alternate self had orchestrated to 'save' a certain individual.

Lovely and sweet his story was with this woman in another world…

Zeus only called her here in a personal sense to speak with her.

"I thank you once again for inviting me here Lord Zeus. Your presence continues to make me appreciative and content. Even if you are not the Lord Zeus that I know."

"Yes. It's been a lovely occurrence when you visit Lady Europa. Though, may I ask, if that certain favor can be done… now, at this particular moment?"

Europa smiled. "Thank you, Lord Zeus, are you sure, however? While I prove myself to be a worthy vessel of my Lady, I am unsure if said favor will turn out well, for both of you."

"Father, my sister and I also advise against it, if only by principle," Castor added as Pollux nodded in agreement.

But the old Lord of the Skies was firm in his decision and…

He missed her.

"I do. Even if I am to face her wrath, I will take it. If only… if only to see her again."

"You truly are a loving father and husband Lord Zeus. In whatever world you reside." Europa said with a loving, affectionate smile as she closed her eyes while the Dioscuri waited, with concern strapped on their faces. To Zeus, however, a mixture of emotions wrapped his form before fixing himself properly with a face, eager to face his past and everything attached to it.

The very moment Europa opened her eyes again, the world seemingly shifted.

If only from Zeus' perspective as the cavern miraculously transformed back into the palace grounds of Olympus, high in the heavens. Where his wife's garden resided, with its beautiful flourish of her symbolic lilies seated below the central and majestic Willow Tree.

Her peacocks waddled by its sides as the life-like projection, shared from a memory bloomed around him as he now sat face to face and alone…

"It's you." A deadpan voice said.

…with his Sister.

His wife.

His partner.

His Queen.

His first love.

"Hera," Zeus said. His voice filled with painful nostalgia as the sound escaped his lips. A voice filled with the pain of such a loss, millennia in the making. Yet, what met him was a disappointed face, filled with a tired expression and a visage devoid of love.

A not-so-subtle contrast to the woman that she now resided in.

"That's my name… Zeus, and greetings perhaps. Or do you want me to bow in your favor instead…" Hera spitefully said with a continued deadpan tone.

"N-no…"

"…or do I need to kiss your very feet off the ground? Serves it right, after all… since everyone, immortal or not was beneath you… dear husband." His love finished as they stared at each other, awkwardly, with Zeus feeling every word like it were swords stabbing his heart.

"No… I merely…" he tried to meet her eyes, only to find them giving off such hate that the words nearly died in his throat. It was devastating to him, and Hera did not care in the slightest.

His last memory of her was her sending a distress call from their fleet's administrative section being bombarded by the Aberration's sweeping attack, destroying her functionalities, moving all privileges and directives back to him.

He was never able to see her Terminal again after that, nor the screams of her and her other children with him that followed. All he could remember was Ares' angry screams as he returned into battle, wielding Photon Ray against the Aberration in a futile attempt at vengeance.

"…I just wanted to see you."

"Ah… there it is. The token position. The trophy wife must be preserved just for what attachments and love you have left in that brain of yours. The fact that you wanted to see me so that you can feel guilty… to feel better for yourself tells me all I need to know."

"B-Beloved I am not-

"Spare me your despicable hide, Zeus. You may not be the Zeus that I know, but deep inside you are just as capable of giving me and even our children the same amount of cruelty as he did. The only difference is that you act like the fallen hero, the disgraced exile, the once noble king laid low when in reality, you're a great and terrible beast, just like our father, and his father before him."

Zeus did not say another word as he stared at his own hands.

The silence was deafening as he felt his wife's eyes stare at his form judgmentally before the tension was whisked away when the Queen of Olympus spoke once more,

"Self-awareness does not deserve you. Nor perhaps any of us in Olympus." Gone was the deadpan hate and disdain, merely replaced by defeat and dreaded acceptance.

"We failed at our mission. Both the original and what became ours after, Zeus. Point as many fingers as we might towards Man and towards ourselves, it does not change the fact that we are relics of the old world. One left behind by the people we ruled over and protected."

"What are you trying to say, Hera?" Zeus asked.

His wife looked directly into his eyes and deflated, losing all her confidence and grace from before, and was now just a woman who had nowhere to go.

"That perhaps our ultimate fate, not just in my world, yours, or in any other is a deserved one."

Zeus, reflecting on his history within this world, could only answer that with the truth and full acceptance of the matter at hand.

"I agree." He said with finality as Hera looked at him in a contemplative and surprised manner until her emotions contorted to that of mild interest and perhaps, longing.

"Did you mourn her? The moment she was gone from you, forever?"

Zeus' eyes hardened. "I mourned her more than any other." He firmly said as he tried to reach and touch his wife's hand, only for her to retract it and look away.

"You and I will never get along, nor will I stop cursing you to the end of my days in this… vessel my Zeus shoved me in. I have no love for you anymore, husband, nor will you find it in my heart to give your existence a second chance. I have suffered enough. I have experienced enough, and my mind will not change even if you must order my full termination."

Zeus, even in sorrow could not deny her request.

This was not his wife.

This was not his Hera.

And he could not let his own selfishness convince him to force her into anything. Not that he had any left. He was already far, far from the Lord of the Skies that he once was and the bridge, severely burned and broken by that other Zeus for his own wife, was a task that he would never fix.

"So be it. If that's what it takes to make you be at peace… then I will not pry further. Dear Hera."

Hera was almost taken aback by his statement, she recovered with a firm face that reminded Zeus of the very first time he attempted to court her. A memory that both sparked a smile and a hint of sorrow in his now aging mind.

"Do you remember when our very first baby was born, Zeus?" She suddenly asked as she looked at the willow tree. At least the memory of it. "Do you remember how happy we both were to hear our son cry for the very first time? How the wonderful beliefs and souls of humans molded our entire beings to fully understand and appreciate love for what it was."

"Yes…" Zeus admitted as he smiled sadly, mourning that memory.

"I wish it never became more than that. I wish… we just stayed that way for the rest of our days." Hera then turned to him, one last time as the world around them started to shimmer.

"I wish we were never tainted by human emotions," Hera said with an ominous and bitter last message as the world returned back to normal, with Europa sitting in her place back in his cavern alongside the Dioscuri.

He never even got to say goodbye.

He wasn't even sure if the meeting itself was fulfilling.

Or if it had only burdened his heart further than it already was.

"Father?" Pollux asked as she and Castor looked at him in worry.

"It's nothing." He quickly brushed it off before returning his gaze to Europa.

"I apologize, Lord Zeus… for how painful your time with Lady Hera was." The woman said with shame and guilt as the former Lord of the Sky remained silent.

He only looked at one of the spots where the light of the sun could penetrate the cavern as a thought drilled itself into his psyche.

If he had to take anything from that conversation with his beloved, it was that there was one thing left for him to do, above all else.

To treasure and protect what family and legacy he had left

Zeus' mind was now set more than ever before.

Topic: Edison and Tesla's New Thaumic Reactors: Clean Energy Revolution or Corporate Nightmare?

In: Boards ► Science & Technology ► Energy ► World Affairs

VoltObserver (Original Poster) (Veteran Member) (Super Moderator)

Posted On September 11th, 2019:

So, OlympiaCorp just dropped some pretty big news today. With Edison and Tesla leading the charge, they've introduced something called Thaumic Reactors—a new energy source that supposedly taps into exotic energies through a field called thaumaturgy. Early tests suggest this stuff is 27-30% more efficient than fossil fuels, with some experimental engines pushing 184.5 extra miles over traditional fuel-based systems. Pretty impressive if you ask me.

But, it's not all sunshine. The tech is still in prototype, and experts are already worried about how this could shake things up—fossil fuel industries could get hit hard, especially in places that rely heavily on oil exports. Job markets might also take a hit, and some folks are already nervous about the economic impact. On the other hand, it's clean, renewable, and could be a huge step forward if done right.

Anyway, I wanted to hear what you all think—what could this mean for us moving forward? Is this the future of energy, or are we setting ourselves up for a different kind of disaster? And please, let's keep the discussion civil and focused!

Looking forward to your thoughts.

So, Edison and Tesla, under Olympia (and those names alone tell you a lot by how unsubtle Olympia can be lol), just unveiled their new Thaumic Reactors. Supposedly, they've managed to increase efficiency in cars by quite a lot compared to standard fuel engines. At least that's what I understand from that...

What even is this "thaumic energy"? Because if those numbers say anything, that's BIG.

►ColdFusion

Replied On September 11th, 2019:

It's supposedly derived from some exotic energy naturally present in the world. I read somewhere that the research falls under new branches of theoretical physics, chemistry, and cosmology. It's like Tesla and Edison are making magic real.

►TachyonHunter

Replied On September 11th, 2019:

Nah, that can't be right. It's probably just dark matter or some unknown energy source we haven't fully mapped yet. Thaumaturgy is just a buzzword they're using to get attention. But those efficiency gains? Wild. 184.5 miles more? Fossil fuels are DONE.

►Snowball_Assassin

Replied On September 11th, 2019:

The fossil fuel industry is definitely sweating. If this goes mainstream, we're looking at a complete shift in the global energy market. Oil and gas giants—especially in the Middle East—are going to panic. A third of the global economy could collapse if this tech catches on.

►MoonfallBeliever

Replied On September 11th, 2019:

You all are so blind! Can't you see? This is connected to ancient alien machine gods from Greece! Olympia is just a front. These Thaumic Reactors are powered by magic—or something the Olympians brought with them. Tesla and Edison aren't inventing anything new. They're just reverse-engineering what the gods left behind!

(Though with Olympia's naming conventions, I can see why some conspiracists are jumping into the scene.)

►Spitfire44

Replied On September 11th, 2019:

If it's magic, it's really efficient magic. 😂 Imagine Poseidon showing up at the R&D department to fine-tune the reactor core.

►RealityCheck

Replied On September 11th, 2019:

Back on topic: If these reactors really work as advertised, the global economy could be in for a huge shake-up. Fossil fuels are a massive industry—jobs, trade, politics. Even if this tech is cleaner and more efficient, the transition is going to be brutal. Think about how many jobs could be lost. Entire countries are built on oil exports.

►HelioFlux

Replied On September 11th, 2019:

Yeah, but isn't that the point? We've needed a shift like this for years. Fossil fuels are killing the planet. If Thaumic Reactors deliver, we could finally be looking at a sustainable future. Cleaner energy, less environmental damage—it's worth the risk.

►MidnightOrbit

Replied On September 11th, 2019:

That's easy to say when you're not living in an oil-dependent country. Transitioning sounds great on paper, but people will lose jobs. Governments will have to scramble to restructure entire economies. This could get ugly fast if it isn't handled carefully.

►UwU_TurboChonk_69

Replied On September 11th, 2019:

At least the tech is still in its early stages, so we have some time to adapt. They'll need to scale production and deal with regulations first. It's not like we're switching over tomorrow. We just need to plan better for this shift.

►ArcaneVoltage

Replied On September 11th, 2019:

Plus, the science behind these reactors is still being studied. Thaumic energy hasn't been fully understood yet—hell, most physicists are still trying to wrap their heads around it. It might take decades before it's mainstream.

►SeaBreeze

Replied On September 11th, 2019:

I heard it's tied to experimental cosmology—something to do with manipulating the universe's natural energy fields. I'm not a physicist, but that sounds more like Star Trek than real life.

►pewpew

Replied On September 11th, 2019:

Dark matter, maybe? If Thaumic energy is something like that, it explains why it's so efficient. Dark matter interacts differently with regular matter—it's possible Tesla and Edison have figured out a way to tap into that.

►dabIdab

Replied On September 11th, 2019:

Even if it's real, imagine the political fallout. Oil giants and energy lobbies are not going to let this slide. You think the fossil fuel industry is just going to sit back and watch this tech wipe them out? We're looking at protests, lawsuits, and big political fights.

►SolarSurge

Replied On September 11th, 2019:

Honestly, the biggest concern should be safety. They're dealing with energy we don't fully understand yet. What if something goes wrong? A reactor meltdown could be catastrophic.

►MidnightTide_788

Replied On September 11th, 2019:

Tesla and Edison already conducted a live demo, and the car ran fine. No explosions, no radiation leaks. It seems stable for now. People are just scared because it's new.

Also... isn't it weird that the two Supes that have big brains are literally named after those two famous innovators? That's quite the redemption too! At least in Tesla's name, because that would redeem the legacy of the real Tesla.

►ヽ(ಠ_ಠ)ノ_Deal_With_It

If they implement it right. Transitioning to new tech isn't as easy as flipping a switch. Just ask the coal miners from a few years back—they're still trying to recover from job losses.

►ArcaneVoltage

Replied On September 11th, 2019:

That's a valid concern, but change is inevitable. Fossil fuels were always a short-term solution. Thaumic energy, if it holds up, might be the long-term fix we need.

►Ghost_in_the_Wi-Fi

Replied On September 11th, 2019:

Call me optimistic, but I think we'll adapt. There are always new industries popping up. The people losing jobs in fossil fuels today might be working on Thaumic Reactor production tomorrow. The transition won't be easy, but it's not impossible.

IronSight (Original Poster) (Veteran Member)

Posted On September 12th, 2019:

So, if you haven't been following the news, things just got crazy in New York. At Tesla's international summit for unveiling the latest Thaumic Reactor tech, terrorists tried to bomb the event. Reports say the attackers included rogue mercenaries and elements tied to criminal networks and anti-Olympia interests. The goal? Disrupt the energy revolution before it even starts.

Thankfully, the attempt was thwarted. Tesla, Achilles, Queen Maeve, and Olympia's security handled the situation without any civilian casualties, though A-Train was killed in the process. Maeve was injured, but the terrorists were neutralized. Vought has already released a statement condemning the attack and severing all ties with any Supes involved.

Given the growing tension between Olympia and Vought, some people think this is just another reason why Olympia deserves the public's trust. But others argue Maeve's involvement raises questions—can she really be redeemed, or is this just PR damage control? I'm curious to hear everyone's thoughts, but please, let's keep things civil.

Edit: And yes. Please learn to follow the rules this time. Like Jesus guys, it's the 46th thread already and all previous threads always devolve into shitshows. I understand that the whole issue is polarizing, but please calm the hell down and discuss it peacefully this time.

Because if not, the thread is going to be closed again.

Vought's latest statement cutting ties with any Supes involved in the attack feels like a desperate move. They're scrambling to save face, but let's be real—they knew what was happening. If they didn't, that's just incompetence.

At least Maeve showed up and did the right thing. She's far from perfect, but this could be her chance at redemption. I mean, isn't that what we want from heroes? For them to be better?

I want to believe Maeve can change, but let's not act like she's off the hook yet. One good deed doesn't erase all the damage she's been part of.

Maybe not, but it's a start. The fact that she fought to protect people, despite everything, says a lot. And from what I've read, she got hurt pretty bad in the process. That's not nothing.

You know who didn't show up? Homelander. That alone tells you everything. Vought's golden boy wasn't there to save the day, and now they're scrambling to distance themselves from the chaos.

Vought's already on life support. Between the scandals and the public turning against them, they're done. Olympia's rise to the top of the world feels inevitable at this point.

And that's because Vought lost its way with the very idea that got them to the top in the first place.

The question is—what happens if Olympia replaces them? What's stopping them from becoming just as bad? Absolute power corrupts, and all that.

►PhantomReload

Replied On September 12th, 2019:

Fair point. But at least Olympia has been transparent so far. They've been handling things with competence and care, which is more than I can say for Vought.

You'll all see soon enough. When the ancient gods awaken, none of this will matter. Thaumic Reactors will tear open the veil between worlds, and humanity will pay the price for tampering with forces it doesn't understand!

Alright, Moonfall, that's enough from you. Back to reality—what does everyone think the long-term impact of this is? Will the energy revolution really happen, or is it just another tech fad?

►IronyOverflow()

Replied On September 12th, 2019:

I think it's legit. If Olympia can roll out these reactors without a hitch, it'll change everything. Fossil fuels will be obsolete, and we'll finally have a clean energy future. The only question is—can the world keep up with the change?

Epilogue

"A welcome?"

Ashley Barrett was frustrated. She looked at her tablet for nearly four hours at this point and started to groan due to the amount of work that she was handling during her off time. Not that she wasn't being stressed to an extreme extent like she previously was in Vought, but due to the various absurd number of topics and stuff related to Olympia in the news and other sectors, entering this new job of hers has both been an amazing but also difficult experience.

Thankfully, the director only needed her assistance on this as he would handle the bulk of it once he was done with his little secret operation in the next few days and with how supportive the rest of Olympia's staff was?

She knew that it would turn out okay.

But at the same time, to prove to them that she was worth the choice of her being hired and that she pulled her own weight by repaying the kind of people Olympia with her full gratitude, she knew that she could manage this.

And best of all? Her little side project of being tutored by Medea was paying off.

So, if she wanted to impress her teacher further, and get more goodwill from the Olympia Heroes, then all of her blood, sweat, and tears would be worth it. By every inch that she could muster.

With a smile, she returned to her work.

She had a lot of material to go over too.

One was the popular and near record-breaking Cooking Stream Berserker in Olympia's Asia division, which caused both local and international acclaim and interest from across the board. Ashley found the stream lovingly heartwarming as well, which helped with the more militaristic side that Berserker and her family had in terms of reputation in the West. Though, the sentiment of her family doing wholesome things had turned her into a strong celebrity.

Another was something in regards to Black Knight and Red Saber being spotted all around Europe doing mother and daughter things… or is it, father and son? She wasn't sure, she hadn't met those two yet but Caenis talks about them a lot.

Of course, some more politics-ridden issues are afloat, especially with the rumors of Homelander and Vought trying to make a deal with Olympia for a possible merger. As disappointed as she was to hear that news, she was assured by the director that it wasn't happening. She wasn't sure what that meant for now, but she was optimistic about Olympia's choices.

Since even with the reputation Stan Edgar and Stillwell used to have back in Vought, her new director gave him an uncanny feeling of worry despite his lovingly friendly demeanor. He was an immensely experienced but subtle, politician and businessman underneath his altruistic methods. She had respect for him, even more so than Homelander, but she knew that people meeting him personally should feel intimidated by the air he would exude, even just from speaking.

"Busy today huh?" a new, lovely voice said.

Ashley turned, once again welcoming the absurdly beautiful face that always made her blush within the facility's library. Sometimes she would steal glances at this person ever since she was appointed as the head of this sector of the building. Ashley knew that the woman was new and like everyone else in Olympia, she predicted that she was also a Supe, but had yet to show in public.

Not that this person seemed to care about that.

"Yeah. Sorry about bugging you."

"Oh I don't mind, just carry on. I'm similarly trying to catch up. Stretch my legs and all of that." The woman said as she smiled, making Ashley blush as the woman sat across from her, carrying a new book in her hands.

It was criminal how these Olympia dudes and gals looked so perfect.

And she was sure that she was already developing a crush on this woman.

Or hell, anyone in Olympia for that matter. Man, Woman, whatever… this place was just absurd and felt like a dream come true.

"I hope you're enjoying your time here. I was assigned here just a few days ago… and it's quite lonely from time to time. Your presence kind of alleviates it."

Ashley sighed.

She prayed to herself that she would pull back from any sort of distraction so she could focus on her work, but this woman was subtly flirting with her and was making her fail at that.

"Oh by the way…" the woman said as Ashley perked up.

"Yes?"

"I never got your name."

AN: So Parts 1, 2, and 3 all take place a few days before the CIA meeting and the Training Course scenes of the last few chapters. With the Caenis, Medea, and Ashley interlude a recycled cut scene from Doomsday Clock arc as an epilogue. Now repurposed here.

For Part 2, think of it as a prelude to Zeus' motivation why he wanted to be better for Herc and any other family he had left before Doomsday Clock arc but was now repurposed and re-written to include that very intimate and emotional scene with Hera.

For Part 3, an introduction to our favorite snek (Medusa). Yes. She is newly summoned. And yes, not just her in this context. This also takes place along the last two chapters.

Also, before I end this little AN, I must say…

Making these sort of interludes is absurdly tiring. Enjoyful, but tiring. Though I do have one more post in the coming days before October ends as we near this fic's first anniversary, so stay tuned.

Thank you all again for reaching this point of the fic, and y'all have a good day.
