The End of the World Part 1

After the battle everyone had to rest up to continue to the next floor.

"How many did we lose?" Klein asked.

Kirito opened his main menu to look at the number.

"14 of us died." Kirito said.

"(Gasp) That many of us?" Agil asked.

The other players heard them, and they were all shocked, they still have more floors to go, and the bosses are just gonna get even stronger.

"But we still have 25 more floors to go." Sora said.

"25 more floors… how on earth are we gonna clear them all!?" Agil asked.

Everyone was panicking over the fact that they still had a long way to go, and they already lost a few players. But Commander Heathcliff was still standing tall, and his health didn't go into the yellow yet. Kirito noticed this and he thought back to their dual when he turned the tables. So, Kirito quietly picked up his sword and lunged at Heathcliff, and a very familiar icon appeared above his head.

"Kirito! What are you?! (Asuna notices the icon above Heathcliff's head and it disappears.) Immortal object? Commander Heathcliff wha what's going on?" Asuna said.

"I think I got the answer to that. The reason why the commander's HP never hits yellow, is because he's protected by the system. (The players all were shocked, the strongest player in the game is only strong because he's protected by the system.) You know ever since day one something always bugging me about this whole thing. Where is he hiding while he watches us and controls everything in this world. Well, the answer is pretty simple it's basic psychology, in fact it's so simple every kid knows it. There's nothing more boring than watching someone else plan an rpg. Is there Akihiko Kayaba?" Kirito said.

Everyone else was shocked to hear this, the creator of the entire game, the one who made everyone suffer was right in the same room they were in.

"Just out of curiosity's sake would you mind telling me how you figured it out." Heathcliff said.

"The first time I knew something was up during our duel. Remember when you turned the tables on me, that move was way to fast." Kirito said.

"Yes, I thought so. It was mistake to think that would go untouched by you, but you were so strong and so fast the only choice I had was to engage the system's assist mode. (The players were shocked about this.) Yes, I am Akihiko Kayaba and now that my identity has been revealed, it should come as no surprise that I am the final boss on the top floor." Kayaba said.

All the players were surprised and terrified of this fact, the most powerful player also the game master the final boss. How can they even win? He can easily overpower them, and HP bar doesn't go into the yellow.

"So, the strongest player in the whole game ends up being the final boss. Kind of cliché, isn't it?" Kirito asked.

"Actually, I kind of like that angle. One thing for sure, I always thought you'd be the one standing before me at the very end. You know dual wielding is a rare skill, the kind that's only given to the player with the fastest reaction time. But you (looking at Sora.) your power is only unique to you, because you use those same skills and abilities in the real world." Kayaba said.

The other players talked amongst themselves in confusion. They knew his skills were unusual, but they didn't know he could do the same things in real life. Was it even true? Just what is Sora? Is he a hacker or something else?

"So that's why you wanted to speak to me that day, you wanted to know if the keyblade I wielded here was just like the ones in the real world." Sora said.

"Let's just say I encountered someone who also came from some other world, he spoke of a young warrior with a key shape sword who was about to save the worlds. I still couldn't believe that you are the boy he mentioned. But I guess these unexpected twists and turns are makes MMORPG's so thrilling to play." Kayaba said.

"Grr… our loyalty… our hope how dare you HOW DARE YOU!" A knight of the blood oath member said, as he got and was about to attack Akihiko Kayaba. But Kayaba unlocked his main menu, pressed a button and the player fell on the floor paralyzed.

"Paralysis…" Kirito said terrified.

Then Kayaba paralyzed Asuna and she was about to hit the floor, but Kirito caught her before it happened. Then he paralyzed Sora and everyone else in the room except Kirito.

"What's the plan now huh? You're gonna kill everyone here and cover it up or something?" Kirito asked.

"Of course, not that wouldn't be very sporty of me now, would it? No, I have a better idea, I'm gonna head for the top floor and wait for all of you there, I'll be inside the Ruby Palace. It's a shame I have to leave you all so soon, I've spent lots of time developing the Knights of the Blood oath and other elite players. (Chuckles) Well you're all strong so I'm sure you'll reach me... eventually. But before I go... Kirito, I feel as though you deserve some kind of reward for discovering my identity so... I'll give you a chance..." Kayaba said.

"A chance for what?" Kirito asked.

"To fight me one on one right here right now, oh and my immortality will be deactivated. Defeat me and you clear the game, and all the players will be logged out from this world, no strings attached. What do you say?" Kayaba said.

"This feels to easy Kirito, I don't trust him." Sora said.

"He's right Kirito, we should fall back." Asuna said.

Kirito thought about it, even though he knew it could be trick if there was a way to put an end to this game he had to take it. Everyone would be free from this death game; they had to live for two years. They'd wouldn't have to watch anymore of their loved ones getting killed and they can finally return home. Plus, if everyone's bodies are being held in hospitals who knows how much longer they're being kept alive anyway.

"I have to. Okay then let's finish it." Kirito said.

"Kirito!" Asuna exclaimed.

"I'm sorry, I can't run away if it means ending this." Kirito said.

"You better not die, you hear me?" Asuna asked.

"No. I'm gonna win, I promise I'm going to end this world." Kirito said.

"Okay... I believe in you, Kirito." Asuna said.

"Go get him Kirito." Sora said.

And with that Kirito gently placed Asuna on the ground, and pulled out his swords as he walked towards the final boss of the game.

"Kirito don't!" Agil said.

"Kirito!" Klein said.

"Agil, thanks for supporting all the players in the game since day one. Yeah, I knew you act like it's all about the money, but I knew you spent every penny you had helping the intermediate players level up." Kirito said.

"Klein. I'm sorry for bailing on you that day. I think about it all the time. I think about it all the time." Kirito said.

"No Kirito! Don't you apologize! Don't you dare apologize now! I won't accept it! I'll never accept it until we're on the other side and you're buying me dinner you hear me!?" Klein exclaimed while breaking down in tears.

"You got it, see you on the other side. (He looks at Sora.) Sora, thank you for being by my side for these two years. I always believed I could handle all this alone, but you taught me there's more I could do with a good friend by my side. Even being trapped in this death game for two years, you influenced me to keep on smiling, to keep on believing." Kirito said.

"I'm glad to have you for a friend Kirito, even though it wasn't always easy, we always got through it together." Sora said.

"Yeah... together. (Then he has one final look at Asuna and looks at Kayaba.) If it's okay, I have a final request to make." Kirito said.

"What is it?" Kayaba asked.

"I don't plan on going down easy. So, if I die today... I want your word that you'll fix it, so Asuna doesn't kill herself." Kirito said.

Sora was shocked to hear Asuna would kill herself if anything happened to Kirito. But he knew if anything happened to him, she wouldn't take it very well.

"As you wish." Kayaba said.

"No Kirito that's not fair! You can't do that it's not fair No!" Asuna shouted.

Kayaba then deactivated his immortality in the game, and it caused his health bar to turn yellow.

"KIRITO!" Asuna exclaimed as Kirito and Kayaba preparing too dual each other.

'This isn't some endgame dual; it's a fight to the death. That's fine with me... cause I'm gonna kill him!' Kirito said to himself.

Then Kirito charged at Kayaba and the duel began. They clashed their swords against each other desperately attempting to end the dual. Kayaba made sure to use defense to deal with Kirito's heavy blows and attacks. Kirito was careful not to use any sword skills for Kayaba to easily counter.

'He can block whatever I throw at him, because he designed the dual wielding skill, and he knows all it's combos. Faster grrr I gotta go faster.' Kirito said to himself as he desperately tries to end the dual.

But then Kayaba managed to land a hit on Kirito slashing his cheek. But Kirito got so angry he accidentally activated a sword skill with his dual blades and charged at Kayaba. But Kayaba was able to easily block all these attacks with very little effort.

'I'm sorry Asuna please... keep living.' Kirito said to himself.

Then Kirito tried to penetrate his shield using his sword (Dark Repulser), but it snapped, and Kayaba raised his sword preparing to end the dual.

"Game over… Kirito." Kayaba said, as his sword glowed red preparing to strike down Kirito.

But right when Kirito was about to get hit Asuna jumped in front of him getting by the sword. Kirito caught her before she fell to the ground, but her HP bar completely disappeared, meaning she died.

"Asuna… Asuna… you can't. You can't be." Kirito said, about to break down in tears.

Then Asuna's body glowed brightly meaning she was about to disappear.

"I'm sorry… goodbye." Asuna said before she completely disappeared, and her sword fell on the ground.

"Asuna…" Sora said sadly.

Kirito looked up as she disappeared and fell on his knees breaking down in tears.

"Well that was a surprise. I'm sure I never programmed a way for players to neutralize their own paralysis. I guess sometimes these things just happen." Kayaba said.

But Kirito had enough, he picked up Asuna's sword, but now he lost all his will to fight barely swinging his sword at all. Kayaba looks at this and sighs in disappointment, so knocks Kirito's sword out of his hand and stabs him in the gut. Kirito notices his HP deplete into the red, but he refused to move.

"It's… over now." Kirito said quietly.

But Sora wasn't gonna just lie there and watch his friend give up.

"Come on Kirito! It's not over! Asuna believed you and I believe in you to!" Sora exclaimed.

Then Kirito's health bar disappeared but this time instead of dying, he faded in and out determined not to give up.

'Sora's right… I won't give up.' Kirito said to himself.

Then Kirito thrusted Asuna's sword right though Kayaba's chest, and his health bar disappeared. Kirito smiled knowing he defeated the final boss of the game.

'We did it. (He said to himself while looking at Asuna's sword. Then he looks at Sora and smiled.) Thank you… Sora.' Kirito said to himself.

Then they both glowed up brightly before they disappeared. Then all the players were able to move since the paralysis wore off. But Sora refused to get up, crying over the loss of Asuna and Kirito.

"They're gone… Asuna… Kirito… we promised we'd get out of this together when we lost the Moonlight Black Cats." Sora said as he was crying. He felt the darkness creeping up on him, but he was trying to hold it back.

Klein and Agil wanted to to walk up and talk to him, but then a very loud alarm went off and entire floor flashed red. But everyone heard a voice glitching in and out.

Those were the words people heard and everyone was confused and scared. Then the entire floor started shaking and everyone started to panic. Then entire floor turned red and everyone heard a different voice.

"Hello everyone, you may think the game has ended, but actually it's only just begun. This entire world is about to fall to darkness. And you're all about to witness the end of the world, and once this world ends the real world is next." The mysterious voice said.

The players were all confused and scared what's going on, blaming this all on Kayaba, wondering what's really going on.

"And if you don't believe me, I've prepared something special for all of you." The mysterious voice said.

Then three red portals showed up in front of the players, and Laughing Coffin popped out from those portals.

"Hello ladies and gentlemen." One of the members of Laughing Coffin said.

"This is gonna be fun, when do we do it! Huh when?!" The other member said.

"Right now…" The other member said.

Sora saw one of the members of Laughing Coffin with a bug block, he tried to destroy it, but he launched it straight into Sora's chest. His body started glitching, and the darkness spread from his chest across his body, and he was in his rage form again. The players were all in shock and confusion when they saw what happened. What is he, what happened to him, what's going on?!

"Now the game really begins…Sora attack the players." The member of Laughing Coffin said.

"Yes… master." Sora said in a dark voice.

Then Sora roared at the players before he rushed off to attack them, the players were to scared to fight they all split off to save themselves.

There you go Sora is once again in rage form and under Laughing Coffin's control. Let's see how everyone gets out of this situation.
