Sweet and Dark Heart: Chapter 15
The two then continued where they initially left off and got pretty into it. Compared to last time when John had fallen asleep, he became pretty immersed in the cute and colorful world.
'He's really into it…good. Being close to him whether he's awake or not is so intoxicating…so thrilling…' Natsuki thought to herself.
About an hour or so passed before the duo heard Monika announce that the Literature Club meeting is almost over and John let out a sigh of disappointment.
"Aw…I was enjoying our little reading session…well…I guess there's always tomorrow, right?" John said as he looked up at Natsuki with a small smile, making her heart race.
'Oh John, what that adorable look of yours does to me…it makes me want to keep you, all for me to enjoy alone.' Natsuki thought to herself.
"Oh come on, of course there is! You're not gonna cry, are you?" Natsuki teased as John blushed a bit.
"N-No! I…I just had a great time, that's all!" John said as the two exited the back of the Literature Club room.
Monika and Sayori looked at each other with amused glances while Yuri was reading her horror novel, though she looked up at seeing Natsuki and John heading back to their seats.
"Looks like you two are close, huh?" Monika asked as she crossed her arms and leaned against her desk with a smirk.
"Future boyfriend and girlfriend material!" Sayori said.
"Shut up, Monika…you too, Sayori…" Natsuki grumbled as Sayori and Monika giggled while John blushed.
'Of course the two of them would tease me about it…well I don't mind that much since I got to spend time with the best person in this club. At least they're not uptight about it like how Yuri's looking recently. I dunno what that bookworm's deal is.' Natsuki thought to herself.
"I…well…it's not a bad thing, right?" John sheepishly asked as Monika chuckled.
"Nah, we're just teasing you two lovebirds…don't worry about it!" Sayori said with a giggle.
"Oh that reminds me, how did Sunday go? I heard a bit from Sayori…but I'd figured asking you would be better…" Monika said eagerly.
John immediately blushed at this since he didn't expect for Monika to ask him in front of everyone, but figuring that he had nothing to really worry about, John figured he'd let the others know.
"Well…we went to the supermarket and farmers' market…then we headed back to her place and had some fun together…" John said as Monika nudged Sayori with her elbow.
"Fun huh? What kind of fun, hm? You two had a little…playtime together…in bed?" Monika asked as she snickered, while Yuri's grip on her book tightened.
John and Natsuki both blushed as Sayori and Monika couldn't hold back their laughter.
'Ahhh! Why did I word it like that?! I should've known that Monika would say something like that! She's just as much of a tease like Sayori is!' John thought to himself as he laughed nervously.
"No, no! Nothing like that! We just hanged out in her room, played video games and watched anime!" John said.
"Aw…well aside from me and Sayori messing around with you two, we're glad you two are getting along! After all, that's what this club is about!" Monika said.
After some more joking around and bantering, the Literature Club meeting finished up and everyone left, with Yuri and Monika leaving first. Sayori and John were by the door about to leave while Natsuki was packing up the last of her things.
"Bye Natsuki, see you tomorrow!" John said with a small smile as Natsuki looked up and gave a small wave.
"Later dummy, see you tomorrow." Natsuki said with a hint of a smile.
"See ya Natsuki! I bet you can't wait for you and John to hang out when you make the cupcakes!" Sayori said with a giggle as John blushed while Natsuki huffed.
"Hmph! We're going to make the best cupcakes, that's all!" Natsuki said as Sayori chuckled before she and John left the club room.
'Heh…go ahead Sayori, you can walk with John, for now. But he'll be mine, only mine. Still…Sayori isn't wrong, I am pretty excited to be making cupcakes with John, if it was with anyone else I wouldn't really care. John is just that perfect. He's so sweet and kind.' Natsuki thought to herself as she finished packing up before she also left the Literature Club room.
Sayori and John went on their way to their houses, with Sayori glancing at John every so often.
"Say, John…can I ask you something?" Sayori asked as she looked a bit sheepish.
"Of course Sayori, what's up?" John asked as Sayori fidgeted with her hands a bit.
"Uhm…sorry about earlier, you know, with Monika and me teasing you and Natsuki earlier. We were just messing around…" Sayori said as John chuckled.
"Oh come on Sayori, I know you and Monika were messing around! I wasn't upset, just a bit flustered maybe, but I wouldn't be mad at you for that! It was funny!" John said as Sayori's frown became her usual warm and bright smile.
Sayori then wrapped her arms around John, giving him a tight hug as she giggled.
"Aw I'm so glad, I thought you'd be upset and think our teasing was too much! I'm really glad you're close with Natsuki now compared to before! You two have known each other for about a week and before you joined the club, I knew about her love of anime and stuff, so I figured you two would get along!" Sayori said as John smiled, always appreciating how Sayori looked out for him as he did for her.
The two continued joking and bantering before reaching Sayori's house and after a hug goodbye, she went into her house. After a few short steps, John entered his house and kicked his shoes off, locking the door and heading upstairs to unwind after tossing his uniform into the washer.
