And with this chapter, we reach the end of the exams. It was a bit of a challenge writing Midoriya and Komori's part as I've made him pretty capable, and he lacks a Bakugo that the teachers could have paired him with like canon, but I think what I managed to put to paper…well, type to doc wasn't half bad, even if the end feels like I could have cooked something better. Also, this is the 50th chapter of my story, and…wow, I, am amazed that I made it this far. I've been doing this for over a year, and it just doesn't hit that I've made it this far till I spend more than a few of seconds looking at the doc name I saved.
It also makes me want to change course, but I can't in good faith change it as next week, there won't be any uploads for this as I need to finish the planning and writing of my second commission's first chapter. Like the first time, I won't say what the commission was for, so you'll just have to wait to see it, but I can tell you that it was really fun to work on.
Chapter 50: Let the Mushrooms Rain
"Team Midoriya and Komori, practical exam. Ready go!" No sooner had the announcement been made that glowing sludge from nothing crossed between the two; a moment later, that sludge took the familiar shape of Ectoplasm, and instead of one of him, it was seven.
"I hope you understand that we teachers aren't going to go easy on you. If you wish to pass like your friends," Midoriya fell into a ready stance, his ears picking up the sound of other clones behind them; a glance revealed it was another 5.
Now surrounded, Ectoplasm's gaze grew much more dangerous as Komori gulped. "You're going to have to fight your way through us." That was all their teacher and opponent sent before his clones rushed them.
"Komori, get behind me!" Midoriya reached into his pouches, ripping his hands out just as fast as sticking to his fingertips were seeds. Pumping tenet into one each hand, he created two wooden blades to defend against the horde of Ectoplasm. Beating them back with well-placed slashes and thrusts.
Komori had followed his order but wasn't staying idle as she sprayed any that got close, slowly raising the humidity as mushrooms started popping up on them, distracting clones long enough for him to land especially powerful blows that, for most, would crack bone. But they were just clones, so when his hits did enough damage, they just collapsed in on themselves, having lost their forms, returning to the glowing sludge they had been, sludge that at which point vanished, only to be replaced by more.
'It's not ideal to just keep fighting them like this. He's no doubt just trying to keep us contained here and away from his main body and the exit.' Midoriya thought as he sidestepped and redirected a kick aimed at his head by angling his staffs, Ectoplasm's peg leg sliding down its smooth wooden surface as Izuku countered, knocking the clone to the ground where he turned to goop and vanished, same as the rest.
Jumping close to Komori, he held both staffs forward. "Wood Style: Lion's Guard!" His weapons cracked and splintered as they rapidly grew, turning into two halves of a dome that surrounded the two. The dome's front had a large face of a roaring lion protruding out of it.
There was no light in the space, leaving only Midoriya able to 'see' as he grabbed onto Komori. "Komori, hold on; we're taking to the high ground," he said as they could hear the clones outside hitting the dorm, only to stop.
Komori was a little scared of being thrown into the dark without warning but trusted her classmates. She trusted Midoriya, so she used his hand as a guide to where the rest of him was and jumped, latching onto his back with her arms and legs wrapping around him. "Got it? Let's go, my trusty kitten!"
Midoriya sighed at the nickname but smiled as he placed a hand on the dorm and another to the ground, funnelling tenet into their defence and to one of the other seeks still sticking to his hands. Within seconds, the dorm exploded, showering the clones with sawdust and splinters as Midoriya created a thin, 2m tall platform. Using the elevation to jump over the clones towards a wall, where he stuck like a spider and started to ascend rapidly.
When he got close to where the wall met the balcony of the next floor, he continued holding onto it with just his hands. "It's a little weird hanging off you like this," Komori noted as they reached the guard rail, where Midoriya pulled them over. Komori got off his back as the two started running along its path.
"Trying to avoid the fight? Well, we thought you might," The Ectoplasm clones they left behind watched them while the main body remained at his spot by the exit. The pro was pleased with their progress, but that didn't mean he would just let them through as the clones below them vanished, only to be replaced by more forming to confront them. "And so, we prepared."
"Can't fight what you can't detect." Midoriya crouched, took a breath, and slowly let it go as he vanished from Komori and Ectoplasm's view. The mushroom-loving girl yelped when she lost sight of him as Midoriya rushed Ectoplasm, flashing his bokken; he jumped towards the man to-
Ectoplasm reacted and kicked him, his peg leg striking Midoriya in the chest, where the surprise more the impact knocked the wind out of his sails. The boy reappeared as he was sent tumbling back as Komori used mushrooms to protect their rear. Though it was a losing battle when clones would fall, dissipate only for more to appear to press her.
"Midoriya!" She cried out. "Are you all right?" She rushed to his side, helping Midoriya to his feet.
"What the...? How did he?" That was impossible. He wasn't the best at masking his presence, but it had never failed him. 'Probably because it was a forward charge; of course, he would reactively strike like that. I can't let myself get sloppy.' Midoriya nodded that he was good and for Komori to continue with her part of the battle as Midoriya went for another run, vanishing from sight only this time, he moved in a zig-zag pattern, running along the guard rail, floor, and floor.
When he got to the first one, he saw that the clone hadn't so much as flinched in his direction as he went for a low strike to the legs, knocking him off balance before tossing him over the edge. It was extreme, but this was a clone, so it wasn't cruelty or excessive.
"Not a smart move, Midoriya." At least, that had been the plan when the clone jumped over the attack as another blitzed him; a punch to the face knocked his head back before a kick to the gut robbed him of air as he retreated before they could continue. "If I were a villain, I would have run you through after that."
"Why could he hit you?" Komori asked as it was weird to see him vanish and then get smacked around. He had used a similar trick before, during their first hero class, and it worked great there, didn't it?
"I have no idea; he shouldn't be able to detect me," Midoriya decided against using that to take the clones down faster than they formed. Instead, he created a spear with a blunted spear point. Clones, they might be, but it wouldn't be proper to just impale the lot of them. Still, with such a narrow path, he could easily handle them, as the clones didn't fight like people who wished to live, but they couldn't easily overwhelm him with numbers.
Komori heard him fighting but couldn't take her eyes off the threats she had to handle as her end of the passage path covered in so many beautiful shrooms of different colours and sizes, a few covering the bodies of Ectoplasm clones, which turned to goo.
While her constant spraying only raised the humidity, which made it harder for more clones to attack without becoming her wonderful shroom gardens, they were getting through, and she was well aware she couldn't spray forever. She'd run out of water, and what were the odds of finding a bathroom or kitchen in this tower?
"Kitty, maybe we should leave. They're. They're boxing us in like this." She called out as Midoriya's adorable cat ears twitched in her direction. Still, he didn't take his eyes off his opponents. Instead, his spear shifted as he slammed it into the floor between him and his opponents, creating a thin, four-layered wall between them.
"Cover us," he instructed her as he picked her up, this time bridal style. She cheered even as he leapt onto the railing again, his back to their teacher who had gotten through. To reward them, Komori created as many pretty shrooms as she could, smaller ones that someone with double peg legs like Ectoplasm would struggle to walk through on short notice.
"Sorry about this, Ectoplasm-sensei, but we can't afford to be the first to fail." Komori waved as Midoriya felt his muscles tense as tenet flowed into them before he took off with a single bond, clearing the distance to the other side's 3rd floor, narrowly missing the guard rail as he placed Komori down only for more clones to form to greet them.
"Just how many clones does he have?" Komori asked, as she wasn't equipped for fighting so many foes; it was like fighting zombies with just a pistol.
"His quirk allows him to make at least 30 at a time." Midoriya narrowed his eyes as his eskrima sticks turned into duel short swords, one of which he flipped into a reverse grip and held forward.
"But we've smashed at least 20 so far; why are they more?" Komori yelled as she again had to handle another horde that tried to overwhelm them.
"I didn't say he could only make 30, just that he could only have 30 active at once. We can smash them all day, and their number wouldn't change," Midoriya told her as he did just that. Evading a kick, he took out the supporting leg and slashed the clone across the chest as it went down. He quickly handled another four, but as she pulled back, five more replaced those defeated clones.
"So, he's just trying to make us waste time instead of looking for the exit." Komori guessed, as it hadn't been too long since their exam started, but they hadn't made real progress either. Who knew what the others had managed at this time?
"Probably, and because he can seemingly pop them wherever he pleases, it's not like we can follow the concentration of clones." Midoriya turned to aide her as her opponents were closer to an exit from this central area.
"Well, if this is like a regular building, then we should be searching the ground floor for the exit. Either there for the top floor." Komori guessed; her mushrooms handled the bulk as Midoriya despatched with the rest, giving them some breathing room.
"Knowing our teachers, it could be any of those options. Pros come in through the top all the time, they'll say." Midoriya sighed, but they wouldn't have the time to get to the roof and check. At the same time, did they have the time to risk just heading down?
In the observation room, the group of observers had grown a little with Shoda and Yanagi's inclusion. "They're doing good so far," Yanagi stated as the Midoriya smacked around the clones while Komori's mushrooms got all over the place, even covering the cameras a little.
"They have solid teamwork and barely talk to one another." Rin mused, as they couldn't hear what they were saying, the same as in in in the previous matches, but then they could tell they were saying something. Here? Here, they were blending well with a few words.
"It's their communication, comprehension, and compromise." Recovery Girl explained, and the students turned to listen to her wisdom on the topic. "Those 3 Cs are the bedrock to any successful hero duo or team. A vital set of skills to have in a society where, as you witnessed during their first hero class, you could end up working with strangers."
Recovery Girl nodded, pleased with what she saw. Midoriya seemed aware enough to understand he couldn't do things alone. He would quickly swap positions with Komori, allowing them to strike at both sides and prevent Ectoplasm from closing in on them. Komori wasn't overstretching herself, and when trouble came, she would fall back and allow her stronger teammate to protect her while she offered support.
"They're able to effectively comprehend their situation, compromise on what they want to do, and communicate that with their partner." She finished as Midoriya kicked a clone so hard it turned back to goop before it hit the ground.
"It makes sense. Komori's mushrooms are a lot better for area control and keeping a bunch of targets back," Kaibara noted that the areas they were fighting in were coming mushroom-filled chaos fields. He could only imagine that it would feel off stepping over them, not to mention when they would just pop into being on the clones.
"I think it's more that they aren't treating the other like sidekicks; they seem to be equals right now." Tokage added that it didn't seem like neither was giving orders; they were just handling things.
"Correct, dearie. So many heroes like to act like others are their sidekicks and are meant to follow their lead. I've seen far too many times where ego cost safety and lives." Recovery Girl sighed as both in her youth and now, egos had cost much, and even with all the lessons in the world, some people just didn't learn till it blew up in their faces. She could already tell that Bakugo was barrelling straight down that path.
"Excuse me, Recovery Girl," Bondo asked, and when Recovery Girl nodded, he continued, a little nervous. "The exam feels like you paired us against teachers we'll struggle with, so we'll think about the box. What's the deal here?"
"Now that you mention it, it did seem off that Midoriya was put against an opponent that can't match his power. Komori's pretty effective here as well," Tetsutetsu stated as if he had to guess. Their match was, as Kaibara said, getting him to stop just charging through without a plan. A straightforward approach wasn't bad, but they couldn't always rely on it; one needed to think things through.
Tokage and Rin could also recall that their match pitted them against someone who all but nullified their quirks and made ranged attacks pointless. They had to get creative and take advantage of Thirteen's not really trying to kill them to pass.
"Midoriya does have a weakness here; it's just not as obvious as with the rest of you." Recovery Girl told them, which seemed insane for most as the guy always had a trick up his sleeve. His only real loss had been against Kendo, a walking force of nature, and when he failed to get to All Might first during their last hero class.
Recovery Girl didn't fault them for that mindset. "It's true that he is the strongest in your class; his performance across the board speaks for itself, but if you look at it another way, that is itself a flaw."
"He's used to taking out opponents quickly, having the element of surprise and the power to slug it out against stronger threats, but what can he do against an unending horde that seemingly can react to him even when he pulls his vanishing act?" She explained as they turned back to the screens and watched more carefully. They could see that he wasn't as calm and collected as was typical. Ectoplasm's endless clones were wearing at him, if not his stamina, then his patience as it didn't matter what attacks he used, even ones that would be fatal to anyone else; the clones would reappear.
"So that's why he was paired against Ectoplasm, and with his ability to form clones anywhere, he can easily box them in as they can never really clear a space." Tokage realized as Recovery Girl nodded.
"Komori is different. Her quirk doesn't leave much damage but can linger even after she defeats a threat, so while she can do a better job at keeping Ectoplasm at bay, she isn't nearly as powerful or durable as her teammate, so she's forced to rely on him as her shield." The elder explained that Komori's quirk was proving more effective against the clones, if for no other reason than it could slow them all down or outright take them down when she pushed the spontaneous mushroom growth to cover the clone's entire body, including their masks.
"The key to their success, should they manage to find it, is recognizing those drawbacks and working to minimize them as they search for their way out, or their real opponent." Recovery Girl concluded as she spared the clock a glance to keep track of the time.
"We can rest here for a moment," Midoriya opened the door to the bathroom, one marked for ladies, and let Komori in before quietly closing it so as not to draw unwanted attention. Komori looked around the space and found it looked like any other public restroom, just impossibly clean as it was never meant to be used.
Heading to a tape, she tested it, and after a couple seconds of gasps, clean water came flowing out. "I'll refill my spray guns. Keep an eye out, will you? " She asked as she opened one of her spray guns and grimaced when she saw it was a little less than a fourth full. She had been using it much more than she thought she would.
Midoriya nodded as he sat by the door and closed his eyes, relying on his enhanced sense of hearing and skills in Húxū to track anything that could be a threat. But they had given Ectoplasm's clones the slip earlier, with Midoriya having sealed off a decoy hallway to throw them off their track. 'We've been at this for 12 minutes now, give or take. These clones are relentless; I've taken out at least 50 of them, and Komori double that.'
Komori was a lot more impressive than most would give the girl credit for. She didn't strike an intimidating or powerful figure,. Still, she had a solid head on her shoulders, was easy to work with, and had a frankly terrifying quirk as his head was swimming with ideals of what she could do with it if she wasn't so tactful and aware of her limits at present.
'They've been able to find us so far, but that little gamble in the last area paid off. The clones can share info, like a hivemind. They know when one of their own has been taken out and see what they see. If we avoid them, we can keep in the clear.' He reviewed the situation as Komori filled up her second spray gun, but that didn't explain something happening since the start.
'Still, what was up with their awareness of my movements? And why the delay? No way they could fake their non-reaction like that; Ectoplasm isn't that good an actor.' He had tried to mask his presence a couple more times since, though always with a means to retreat, and each time, it was like Ectoplasm could see him coming right in the nick of time. He didn't get further hits in, but it was still as confusing as vexing.
"All right, I'm topped up and ready to go. Are we still heading for the roof?" Komori approached him.
"It seems like a plausible, unlikely spot to put the exit. But it will leave us with little time if this is wrong." Midoriya replied as they were banking on the school going their typical route of atypical. Still, they could have just as easily decided that making them fight pros was enough of a challenge.
"Then we should hurry; if we ran into more clones, then we just charge straight through 'em. I can leave enough of a mushroom trial that they can't follow us." Komori cheered, the tone making it hard for Midoriya to remain concerned.
"You just want to get on my back again, don't you?" He joked as she smacked his shoulder.
"What, don't you remember how you handled yourself at the Sports Festival? You make a fantastic kitty of war, " she said.
"Just a kitten? I'm offended you would use such a description." Midoriya faux-cried, to which Komori giggled. Unknown to the two, Kuroiro was trying not to shed tears at the obvious good banter between them.
"Hush now, my fluffy kitten. We have a roof to take and clones to smash!" Komori declared as they exited the bathroom. Midoriya got on all fours, the same as when he carried Shinso. Around himself, he created wooden armour with hand holds for Komori, who got onto his back. Secure, it took off, and soon, they found a couple of clones who had been looking for them.
"So, they appear-!" They didn't stop as Midoriya barrelled right through them, trampling one clone as the other was left surprised by their move.
"Sorry, Ectoplasm-sensei, but we don't have time. We have an exam to pass, so we can have all the summer fun we want!" Komori called out to him, even as more clones were deployed now that Ectoplasm had a location. But unlike before, Midoriya didn't stop. He didn't slow down, as with Komori spraying water and releasing spores as they went. Any clone that wasn't trampled by her armoured human assault was covered in shrooms!
The real Ectoplasm remained at the entrance, seeing their new strategy through his clones. He. He could admit it wasn't a bad idea when there was no value in holding back or trying to capture them. "They're tearing through me with unexpected ease, but they're…heading higher?" he asked as they were taking the stairs further up the building.
"Why?" He asked. "Is there some sort of attack they're plotting? Or is it something else?"
Komori laughed as they charged through another group that tried to stop them, their kicks doing nothing against the thin yet incredibly durable wooden shell Midoriya had created. "This is a pretty good set-up. You should try being a human bumper cart?"
"Yeah, as fun as that sounds, I prefer what I'm already doing!" Midoriya replied before he felt something ahead and made a change, barely missing a pillar. "Komori, please focus on guiding me. I can't see everything that well like this!" How he made the defence made that it was like the skirt on most armoured vehicles, but he could barely see over it with him on all fours.
"Don't worry, kitty of war. I'll let harm come to you!" Komori replied, still laughing, as they finally reached the top—or at least the door leading there, but it was sealed.
"There's a door in front of us!" She called out.
"Does it look strong?" Midoriya asked.
"I mean, kinda," Komori replied. It wasn't some bank vault or something, but something told her it wasn't going to be like the doors you'll find in typical buildings either.
"Hold on tight and get your head down; we're not wasting time," Midoriya called out as he shifted their armour, creating a battering ram about a meter long attached to the front, its head shaped like a tiger's roaring face.
"Oh dear!" Komori replied but followed along as all but laid on his back, gripping at the handles to keep safe as Midoriya increased speed and crashed into the door, the ram doing its job as it smashed straight through, the duo coming out the other side no worse for wear as they looked about but saw that-
"I'm not seeing an exit, Midoriya." Komori frowned as she jumped off his back, Midoriya letting his armour fall off him as he got back up on his two legs. He wiped some sweat from his brow and looked around the roof, but aside from the class dorm, there wasn't anything there. Going to the edge, he saw that it was a severe drop, not something someone could do without risking death, but…it would be a way out.
He suggested as such, but Komori shook her head. "But they said we can only use the exits." She reminded herself that Nezu had said exits, not just pure escape.
"True, else we would have just smashed our way out from the start. Midoriya agreed as it was a long shot, but he wished it would work. But that left a question; their entry onto the roof hadn't been quiet, and indeed those clones would have known it was their destination. So why haven't more formed yet? Was it distance? Or something else. Looking about, he didn't see much that could warrant the hero to keep back, outside a large water tank, but Ectoplasm didn't have a weakness.
Komori, as her teammate, wondered about why they weren't dealing with more clones, she walked over to the dorm, well, one of them. There was one large one, and when she approached and peeked through it, she could see the starting area. There weren't clones there, which made sense as Ectoplasm couldn't have that many active at once, and he would know they weren't there.
Heading to the second one, she saw something of us.
"Look, I see it!" She called out as Midoriya approached. Following her finger, Midoriya could see both their teacher, but what was more important, what could only be called the exit with how coloury and overly designed it was.
"So, it looks like we've got some luck on our side." Midoriya smiled. There was no way a clone would be guarding the exit, so that had to be the real him.
"But Ectoplasm's guarding it and he can just overwhelm us with clones again." Komori stated as while they could pass if they got their hand cuffs on him, Komori being the one carrying them, or if one escaped. Ectoplasm would know that and keep his distance or blow the exit with an unending horde. Midoriya wouldn't be able to sneak past even if he wanted to.
"But if that's his real body…" Midoriya paused, recalling what Komori explained about her quirk when they went over their plans earlier, then his eyes went back to that water tank as an idea formed in his ear which had him buzzing with mischief.
His 'ears' twitched in excitement, and he looked back towards his teammate. "Komori, I have a plan, and I think you're going to love it."
"Why's that?" She asked.
"Because it will involve a ton of shrooms." At his response, she gasped before an equally mischievous look formed in her eyes as she wiggled closer to him.
Down below, Ectoplasm was wondering when those two would get there. They had followed them to the roof but opted not to fight them, his clones keeping an eye on the path that served as the only way up and, consequently, down from it.
"They have around 8 minutes left, what could they be doing?" He asked, about to just send his clones in t finish them off, or ensure that they would be delayed long enough for the clock to run out.
That decision was made for him when he heard the sound of glass cracking. Looking around, he didn't see anything that could make that sound, and neither student had a quirk that could replicate it. He heard it again, but this time he could realize that it was echoing through the space, meaning that it-
"Above!" Ectoplasm called out looked above, just in time to see the centre of the glass done shatter as his two students came. Again, Komori rode on Midoriya back as he the boy flew through the space towards him.
"Ready or not, here we come!" Midoriya yelled as he created two gauntlets similar to the size he used against Kendo.
"An impressive entrance, but not especially smart against a foe that can send enemies at you mid-air," Ectoplasm called back as he created six clones, and with the help of others, they were launched to meet the students.
"We know, and that's why I wanted to give you a little present!" Komori's eyes glinted with glee as their efforts on the roof paid off. Unseen to everyone, including Recovery Girl and the rest, they had spent half their remaining time creating smaller tanks of water from Midoriya's wood, filling them up from the larger tank, and placing them at the edge of the of the glass dome which they had just weaken.
So, when Komori pulled on the little vine rope, Midoriya had given her, their combined weight tugging on it broke the containers and shattered more of the glass dorm, pouring hundreds of litres of water into the dorm like rain.
"Using the sudden flex of moisture, Komori held her arms wide as she giggled in joy. "Let's turn this place into a wonderful shroombery!" She cried out as burst that Ectoplasm could both hear and nearly feel in his bones; mushrooms by the thousands popped into being, tailing the two, covering everything. The walls, the pillars, the lights-cameras, including his clones, who found it impossible to see when their faces were covered up.
Midoriya fired off a hook, attached to his gauntlet via a vine-like cord to catch onto a guard rail, slowing them down so he and his passenger could land in the centre of the room, the water catching up to them and dousing them and the floor with water, which only allowed the mushroom spores that Komori was putting out to further spread and devour everything like a voracious beast.
Ectoplasm narrowed his eyes as the water flow had finally ceased, but the area was much damper than before, and Komori was thriving off it as the girl seemed like she could hardly contain herself. The pro felt his instincts cry as he leaned back, evading an attack from Midoriya, who was just as giddy as his partner; that look in his eye, that smile-it was someone enjoying all that they did.
Midoriya, seeing that his first attack didn't work, didn't let it slow him down. He reached for his back and pulled out another wooden creation, this one shaped like a capsule, which he tossed towards Ectoplasm. The hero just knew that this was a trap, that he was meant to kick it, and it would break, releasing whatever it contained, so he continued to jump back!
Only for the capsule to explode, Midoriya having taken full advantage of the fact objects, especially one's natural element affinity, retained tenet for a few seconds after you drop them. Using that, it was easy to cause the thing to rapture, and spill more water onto Ectoplasm, only this stuff was tainted with Komori's spores.
The result is the man going down and quickly being consumed with mushrooms, leaving his face visible. "…Impressive." Ectoplasm relented as he could read the writing on the wall. He was trapped.
"It worked!" Komori cheered as she happily approached. Midoriya had beat her to the punch and created another snake, which wrapped around Ectoplasm, the construct swallowed by the ever-growing shrooms.
"It was thanks to you, Komori. I wouldn't have been able to get close to him otherwise." Midoriya took a breath and stretched as Komori pulled out her cuffs and slapped one end on Ectoplasm's arms…after she took a moment to find it.
"Ectoplasm has been captured. Team Midoriya and Komori pass." The announcement went off as the two shared a high five. They didn't care that they were soaked or that the entire place was now covered in a layer of mushrooms so thick they couldn't see through it. They won!
"Congratulations on your victory, students. Though, could we get me out of this?" Ectoplasm asked, the two ceasing their celebration to recall that he was still present and a walking…well, not at present, mushroom garden.
"Oh, sorry about that! I have some disinfectant right here…" Komori reached for her belt and pulled out a small bottle, stopping to look at it and then at Ectoplasm. It wasn't even full, as she had to use it on Midoriya earlier; otherwise, he would be just as worse off as their teacher.
"I doubt that would be enough," Ectoplasm called her out of that.
"Maybe we should call for me. The school's bond to have some more lying around…right?" Midoriya sounded confident but looked towards his teammate near the end.
"Well, it's just ethanol, shroom," Komori stated. The support course probably had a bunch of it for their projects, so they just needed to ask for some to be brought over or wait the couple of hours for her wonderous shrooms to die now that she wasn't actively feeding them nutrients.
After that…odd match-up, things continued as planned. Honenuki and Tsunotori had their work cut out for them, with Power Loader being able to easily navigate through Honenuki's liquefied earth. Still, they managed to pull out a surprise capture on the villain with 10 minutes to spare. Shiozaki and Tsuburaba had a worse time with All Might, as their teamwork was terrible for most of it. Still, they managed to avoid him for the most part before Shiozaki managed to escape, taking the match.
The day's final match seemed to be the hardest, as while the man was using rubber bullets, Snipe still managed to tag both Fukidashi and Shishida multiple times. At one point, he swapped out his bullets for what seemed to be special dart rounds and hit Shishida. The guy went down for nearly the entire match but, at the last minute, managed to stir long enough to surprise the gunman, knocking him aside so that the two could make a break for the exit.
After all was said and done, they were gathered together once more, given some words of wisdom, instructed to shower and change, and allowed to head home early as class A's practical was coming up.
There is no end-of-chapter message this time, just the same BS with Grammarly as with my last upload, not with this story but just in general as for some reason, it's just ruining sentences and insisting that its 'correcting' my work by just repeating words.
The next chapter will be out March 14th
