Olivia twisted restlessly as she tried to find a comfortable position to sleep. It had been two weeks since Erin's death and hours since they returned from her funeral. They decided to bury her beside Scott, in the family plot at a cemetery in Santa Barbara.
With the help of the child psychologist who saw the girls weekly, she had explained to the girls that Erin passed away. The twins seem to understand but at the funeral, Daisy asked when Aunt Erin would come back, which the psychologist warned them might happen, that they wouldn't understand the permanence of death because their concept of time was limited. Lily understood, though now she was worried that Olivia and Fitz would die too.
It was an overwhelming week. Between the planning for a funeral, having to film a TV interview with Fitz to try to get some of the clamor on social media and the news to die down, planning to travel to New York to view a selection of homes to possibly purchase their new home and having to interview Lily and the twins for their new school. She was overwhelmed.
She leaned over and checked the time on her phone on the nightstand. It was 3:16 AM. She groaned and turned over to her other side. Fitz leaned up.
"I can't sleep if you're not," he mumbled.
"I can't sleep," she moaned, "he's kicking me incessantly. I feel like I want to burp, fart and vomit, and poop but I can't. I want to have sex but I'm so bloated that I feel like as soon as you go inside me I'll let out a fart so big it'll blow you off the bed and then I'd vomit on you-"
He'd been trying to hold back laughter but couldn't anymore and bellowed out laughing.
"Don't laugh at me-" she said as she leaned up. "It's not funny….and I'm only 26 weeks and he's so big."
"Well, at least you won't have to push him out, they said if he gets to 10 pounds you'll have a c-section."
"That's not good," she complained. "It took me longer to heal after a c-section with the twins than it did pushing Lily out. It's much worse."
He leaned up and caressed her belly.
"This all sucks, I'm sorry. I'll never understand how hard it is to grow and birth our perfect little babies."
Olivia finally smiled, "it's very hard work."
"Of course, especially with fucking sasquatch in there kicking up a storm," he said.
She bellowed out a laugh this time and finally let out some of the gas that had her belly stiff.
"Better?" Fitz asked.
She nodded, "a little."
Time passed and they drifted off to sleep.
When she woke up, it was before Fitz. She stood up slowly and stretched. Just as she did she passed more gas and chuckled because it was sure to wake Fitz who was a very light sleeper. She walked to the bathroom and urinated and when she was finished and washed her hands, she then heard Lily coughing on the monitor.
Fitz opened his eyes and stretched then he inhaled and scrunched his nose.
"Sorry honey, I farted-"
"-I thought I smelled it in my sleep," he said with a chuckle.
Lily coughed again. He attempted to get up. "Don't worry darling, I've got her," Olivia said as she headed out of the room. Fitz reached across the bed and grabbed the monitor.
Olivia walked into Lily's room. She was lying on her bed, half awake and slightly pale.
Olivia walked to her quickly.
"Good morning my little Lily flower, are you feeling okay? You don't look so good?" Olivia pressed her palm against her forehead, cheek, and then neck. She was very warm.
"I feel sick," Lily mumbled. "And my throat hurts."
"Oh no," Olivia said, "you're very warm. Mummy's going to get the thermometer to check your temperature, okay?"
Lily nodded as Olivia walked to her bathroom and grabbed a thermometer quickly from the vanity. When she walked back into Lily's bedroom, Fitz was just walking in.
"Hey, my little princess," Fitz said.
Olivia sat beside Lily on the bed and uncapped the thermometer. "Alright, it won't hurt, I'll just slip it right under your arm and then it'll beep and let me know how warm you are, alright?"
Lily nodded and Olivia pulled her blanket back and placed the thermometer under Lily's arm. Moments later it made a small beep and Olivia checked it. Her temperature was 101.9. She turned it and showed Fitz.
"What do you want to do?" he asked her.
"It's high- to be safe…I'd rather take her to her doctor now and see if we can't get it any lower."
"I don't want to go to the doctor," Lily complained.
"Well you want to feel better don't you?" Fitz asked. "The doctor will make you feel better."
"No, what if I die?"
Olivia's mouth fell open. "Lily, you are not going to die."
"You're just a little sick," Fitz said. "Once the doctor gives you some medicine you'll be fine."
"You promise I'm never gonna die, ever?" Lily asked hoarsely.
Fitz looked to Olivia, unsure of how to answer. The psychologist gave them some tips on how to talk or answer questions about death but even so, it was difficult to know what to say.
"Lily, everyone dies," Olivia said. "But the good thing is that most people die when they are really old."
"How old are you and Dad?" she asked.
"I'm 32 years old and dad is 37," she answered. "That's very young."
"The man that daddy shot dead, was he young?" Lily asked.
Fitz stood, "When you're a bad guy sometimes you die a little sooner because you're so mean and so bad."
"Well, does that mean-"
Fitz lifted her in his arms, "enough death talk for now," he said. "Your mom and I need to take you to the doctor to get you better."
Lily turned to Olivia, "Mommy, can we bake brownies like you promised when I get back?"
Olivia nodded, "If you feel better then sure."
Lily nodded as Fitz took her to the bathroom.
"Fitz, I'm going to check on the twins, they might have caught something too," Olivia called as she headed out.
"Okay Angel," Fitz called.
Lily groaned.
"What?" Fitz asked.
"I forgot to call her mommy angel," Lily complained.
"Get your own nickname for her, that's my nickname," Fitz teased.
Lily rolled her eyes. "You're not gonna get any brownies when me and Mommy bake them."
"Aren't you sick?" Fitz asked.
Lily blew raspberries at him.
"Alright, don't get your germs on me," he teased.
She stuck her tongue at him and folded her arms as he stood her on the vanity.
"I'm gonna eat all your brownies, how about that?"
Lily screamed, "MOMMY!"
"Shhh," Fitz said, stifling a laugh. "-don't call her your mom. You know I'm not gonna eat it all."
Lily smiled mischievously and Fitz gasped.
"You played me…are you even sick?" he asked as he felt her neck and forehead.
"Yes, mommy said I'm sick and I have boogers. Look!" she said as she showed him her nose.
"Okay, okay," Fitz said playfully. "You're sick."
Olivia walked into the twin's bedroom and they both were asleep. She walked to Daisy's bed first and gently pressed her hand against her forehead then her neck. She didn't feel warm and Olivia was glad. She walked over to Isabelle and did the same but Isabelle was warm. She heard Lily scream her name and rushed back quietly to her bedroom. When she walked into the bathroom Fitz was just about to hand her her small Princess Elsa toothbrush with toothpaste.
"Fitz, is everything okay?" she asked as she walked in.
"Oh yeah, she's fine."
Lily nodded as well then she grabbed her toothbrush and began brushing her teeth. Olivia sighed and laughed before she remembered to take the thermometer and headed back to the twin's bedroom. When she placed the thermometer under Isabelle's arm, her temperature was similar to Lily's at 102 degrees Fahrenheit.
Olivia gently woke Isabelle, nudging her until her eyes opened.
"Good morning my Izzy, how are you feeling?" When Isabelle drew in a breath, her nose was stuffy. Olivia lifted her on her lap and hugged her. "Sounds like you're a little sick. Daddy and I are going to take you to the doctor, alright? We'll get you some medicine to make you feel better."
She nodded and yawned as she hugged Olivia closer. "I'm tired mommy."
"Well, guess what," Olivia said. "If we hurry up and go to the doctor, we'll bake brownies as soon as we get back."
Isabelle popped up, wide awake, "Yay, I can't wait to make brownies." She stood out of Olivia's arms. "I have to wake up Daisy," she said through a cough before she climbed over to her sister's bed. Olivia smiled as she watched Isabelle wake Daisy. Even though Daisy didn't have a temperature, she had a heavy cough and a stuffy nose. The promise of baking brownies together was enough to have both girls trying their best to convince her they weren't sick. She brushed their teeth and wiped their faces with a warm, moist cloth before she brushed their long, wavy brown hair and plaited it in a single braid and put an elastic band at the end for each of them. She then brought them to their walk-in closet to dress them. When she walked out, Fitz and Lily were both groomed and dressed as well headed towards them.
"Daddy," Isabelle and Daisy said in unison as they walked to him.
"Hey my twin princesses," Fitz said as he kneeled before them. Fitz felt both Isabelle's and Daisy's forehead.
"Izzy has a bit of a temperature but Daisy doesn't. They're both stuffy though-" Just as she said the words Daisy sneezed in Fitz's face. His mouth fell open. Olivia laughed.
"I'm sorry Daddy," Daisy said.
Fitz took a breath and then laughed, "It's okay honey." He looked at Olivia. "I'll get them some breakfast, why don't you get dressed."
She nodded.
"Do you want me to get anything ready for you?" he asked.
"Maybe just some fruit and toast, if it's not too much work."
"It's not," Fitz said with a chuckle.
"Daddy, can I make the toast?" Lily asked.
"If you promise not to cough or sneeze on it," he said.
Daisy stomped her little foot. "I said it was an accident, Daddy!"
Olivia laughed and walked into her bedroom. "I'll be done in 10," she said.
Fitz headed downstairs with the girls while Olivia walked into their bedroom. She urinated again before she brushed her teeth and washed her face. She moisturized her skin and dabbed some concealer under her eyes. She put on mascara and some bronzer then walked to her closet and changed into a pair of black biker shorts and a white t-shirt. She slipped on a pair of flip-flops, grabbed her purse, and made sure she checked all the girls' insurance cards just in case. When she headed downstairs, the girls were in the midst of eating their breakfast which consisted of banana pancakes with whipped cream and sliced strawberries. Greg made dozens of pancakes in the girl's favorite flavor banana. He froze them and dated them for the weekends when he didn't come in.
"I'm ready," Olivia said as approached them by the kitchen island.
Fitz grabbed a plate from the counter and placed it in front of her. There was sliced banana and blueberries along with a slice of toasted brioche and butter.
"Thank you, honey," she said with a smile.
Fitz nodded and took a bite of the toast he made for himself. Zeus came around from the other side of the kitchen island and ran his head against Olivia's leg. "Good morning Zuzu," she said as she ate.
"I forgot Rumi needed to come by to take him to the vet. He's been a little lousy lately, hasn't he?"
"Yeah, he's getting pretty old," Fitz said.
"Yes and now is not a great time for him to…"
"Kick it?" Fitz said as he walked around and petted Zeus down his back. "It would be awful timing but you're a tough old boy, aren't you?"
"Is Zeus okay?" Lily asked.
"Yeah, he's alright. He's going to the doctor, just like you and your sisters," Fitz said.
"A doctor for animals is a veterinarian," Lily corrected.
"Yes," Olivia agreed as she stepped over and kissed Lily against her golden blonde hair. "As usual you're right my brilliant little Lily flower."
She moved to Daisy and Isabelle and kissed them against their brown wavy hair. Their hair was the exact shade of brown as Fitz's.
"Come on Angel, we have to get out of here."
Olivia nodded and went back to eating her breakfast. Just around 20 minutes later they headed out together after Fitz spoke quickly with their security about their plans.
The doctor's trip was quick. Their pediatrician gave them a quick check-up before taking samples to ensure that they were only sick with the common cold and nothing more serious then she prescribed a strong antihistamine and advised them to buy over-the-counter Tylenol. She also gave them advice on how best to get them through the sickness.
They went to the pharmacy right away. Fitz sent a guard inside to pick up the medication and when he delivered it to them in the car Olivia slipped the white paper bag into her purse.
"Okay, before we head home, do you need anything, Angel?" Fitz asked.
"A smoothie…maybe."
"From where…that place with the stupid name."
"Erewhon," she said with a chuckle. "Yes."
"Alright," he said before he switched car gears and pulled off.
"Daddy, can I have a smoothie too?" Lily asked.
"I'm sorry Rosebud, the doctor said it's not a good idea for any of you to drink cold things."
"Please, I won't drink a lot," Lily asked.
"Can I have one too?" Daisy asked.
"Mommy said no," Fitz said. "Next time, alright."
Lily blew out a breath and frowned. "Okay, Daddy."
Fitz drove to Erewhon and when they arrived, they all decided to go into the store together. There were a few stares though no one said anything or caused a scene.
They went up to the smoothie counter. Olivia ordered a turmeric crush which was an orange and magenta colored swirled smoothie with peach, mango, pineapples, carrots, ginger lemon, and turmeric. Fitz paid at the counter and once she got her smoothie they headed back to the car. He opened the door for Olivia and once she slowly stepped inside and sat down, he opened the back door for the girls and climbed inside before strapping themselves in. He checked the seatbelts to make sure they were fastened before she got into the driver's seat. "Any more requests?" he asked.
"Yeah, what are we going to eat for lunch? And dinner?"
"Fuuuc-dgee," he managed to stop himself from cursing before he let it slip. "The girls being sick does throw a wrench in any plans to eat out."
"Should we get a pizza before we head home? We'll have someone pick up dinner later."
"Sure."
"Daddy I want pizza with only cheese on it," Isabelle said with a stuffy nose.
Olivia pulled some tissue papers out of the glove compartment of their Porsche SUV. She passed it to Isabelle as she slurped her smoothie. Isabelle blew her nose and passed the tissue back to Olivia. Fitz laughed as he watched Olivia take the used tissue, unsure of where to put it.
He finally pulled off. They stopped at Olivia's favorite pizza place and ordered two large pizzas before they headed home.
On the drive home, as they approached the hill, Olivia offered him a sip of her smoothie.
"Are you forgetting Daisy's special gift to me earlier? A sneeze in my mouth."
"I said I was sorry Daddy!" she yelled.
Fitz laughed as she handed him the smoothie, "Try it."
He took a sip. "Woah…you might be onto something with this one."
"Pleaseeee Mom can I have a sip. Please. Please," Lily begged.
Olivia gave in, "Sure honey." She passed the cup back to Lily and she took a large sip of the icy drink.
"Lily, can I have some too?" Isabelle asked.
Lily nodded and handed the cup to Isabelle and then Daisy took a sip as well. "Mommy here," Daisy said as she stretched to Olivia with the cup. There was only a sip or two left at the bottom of the cup.
"Daisy, you can't give Mommy your germs," Lily said. "I'll drink it." Olivia and Fitz chuckled as Lily took the cup and finished the last sip.
They continued their drive home and when Fitz parked a few meters away from the house, down the driveway, he stepped out before he opened the back door for the girls. Olivia got out as well and when Fitz reached her he frowned.
"I'm sorry I opened the door for myself," she said sarcastically. "Next time I'll sit and wait."
"Exactly," he said.
He walked to the trunk and took the boxes of pizza out then they headed inside. It was just around noon. The pizza was still warm. Olivia dropped her bag on the floor by the kitchen island and washed her hands at the sink. Fitz opened the two boxes. One with plain cheese and another with pepperoni cups.
Isabelle gasped, "That looks so yummy."
"I thought you said you only eat cheese pizza," Fitz quipped.
Olivia took the medication from her purse and began reading the labels.
"Okay they have to take the medicine before eating," Olivia said as she opened the bottle.
"Is it gonna taste yucky?" Daisy asked.
"I don't know," Olivia said. "But it's really important you take your medicine so you can feel better."
She opened the bottles and began to measure out the dosage from each of the three bottles of antihistamine then she did the same for the Tylenol.
"Who wants to go first?" Fitz asked.
"I'll go first," Lily said.
"My firstborn," Fitz said with a grin. "You see how brave your big sister is?" Fitz said to Daisy and Isabelle.
"I don't want any medicine," Daisy said.
Olivia brought the two doses of medicine to Lily and fed her one cup. Lily drank it all and scrunched her nose. "It's nasty mommy," she complained.
"I know my sweet, just one more," Olivia said as she fed her the Tylenol.
Fitz handed her a slice of plain pizza right away. "Eat up princess, so you don't have to taste the medicine."
Lily took a bite of the pizza and chewed.
"Better?" Fitz asked.
Lily nodded as she ate. Olivia chuckled and kissed her forehead before she went and got another dose.
"Daisy, are you ready for your?"
"No," she answered as she shook her head.
"Honey, you have to take your medicine,"
Daisy shook her head and bolted from the chair but Fitz caught her right away and lifted her up. "Come on, it's just a little medicine, you're gonna be okay."
"No, I'm not gonna take it," Daisy said.
"Yes you are princess," Fitz said.
"No!"
"Isabelle, will you take your medicine and show your sister that she can do it as well," Olivia asked.
Isabelle nodded and Olivia walked over and fed her two doses of medicine. Daisy watched. She scrunched her nose just as Lily did and Olivia kissed her gently. Fitz quickly gave her a slice of pepperoni pizza as she requested.
"Okay Daisy, just you now. Will you be brave like your sisters?" Fitz asked.
Daisy nodded this time. Fitz sat her down on the stool and Olivia brought over the two doses. She fed Daisy the first one and she gagged but swallowed it. The second dose was much harder but after a bit of convincing, she finally took it.
"I'm so proud of you," Olivia said before she kissed her. "You were afraid to take the medicine but you still did it."
"Are you proud of me too mommy?" Isabelle asked.
"Of course, I am, Izzy," Olivia said as she kissed Isabelle and then turned to Lily. "You too, my big girl."
Fitz gave Daisy a slice of pizza and she bit it quickly. Olivia went to the refrigerator and took a few juice boxes out for the girls and a bottle of beer for Fitz. then brought it over to them. "Here you go baby," she said as she handed Fitz the beer.
"Thanks," Fitz said as he gave her a quick peck on the lips.
She gave the girls their juice boxes and then took a slice of pepperoni pizza and stood and watched as Fitz ate 5 slices by himself. After lunch, they went to the playroom upstairs and Fitz and Olivia sat on the girl's small sofa as they played on their Ipads for a little over an hour. They got tired just before 2 pm. Olivia gave them water and a nasal spray before they put them down for their naps. They went down easily after Olivia and Fitz read them a story. Once the girls were settled and falling asleep, they headed back to their bedroom. When they walked in, Fitz closed the door behind them.
"We'll have to transition Lily from naps in a few weeks. Once she starts grade 1 she won't be able to nap at school anymore and I want her to adjust before the term starts," she said as she walked to the bed and plopped down.
"That'll be hard. She loves her naps."
"I know," she said, then sighed as she rubbed her belly. "I want a massage."
"Do you want me to call the masseuse?" he asked.
"It's a Saturday, she's been here all week. I can wait until Monday."
"Olivia, she's on-call, she can come in…don't fight me on this."
"Fitz, it's all right, anyhow what I really wanted is the wand. You haven't used it on me in a while."
He grinned and without another word walked to the nightstand and opened the bottom drawer which held some of their sex toys.
"I'll get some towels," she said.
"The squirt is the best part," he quipped as he pulled a wand from the drawer and closed it.
She laughed as she stood and walked to the bathroom closet and took two large towels then spread them on the bed.
"Okay, I'm ready," she said.
He tossed the wand on the bed before he removed his shirt then stepped in front of her. Olivia stared up at him as he pulled her shirt off then he pushed her panties and shorts down. Olivia stepped out of them and Fitz smiled and reached down and squeezed her ass as he kissed her deeply. Olivia undid the buttons of his pants and pushed them down along with his boxer briefs. She smiled against his lips and suddenly he turned her around and squeezed her breasts as he kissed the blade of her shoulder from behind. "The best breasts I've ever seen," he groaned as she squeezed them a bit harder.
Olivia smiled as she half turned her body and kissed his lips, "I'm glad to hear it." She began to feel his erection against her ass. Fitz broke the kiss and lifted her onto the bed before he stepped out of his clothes.
Olivia laid on the towels and opened her legs. Fitz grinned as he grabbed the wand. He was in front of her at the foot of the bed.
"Come over here," Olivia called.
He moved to the side of the bed, and Olivia pulled him even closer to her until he was standing over her. She reached for his penis and gently stroked it. He immediately understood her intent as he leaned down and kissed her hungrily and sloppily, sucking against her tongue and lips as she continued to stroke his erect penis.
When he broke the kiss Olivia took him in her mouth, sucking him hard and quickly lubricating him with her saliva.
As she sucked him, he turned on the vibrator at her preferred speed with a few clicks of the button and then lightly ran it down her pussy lips. She moaned with his penis in her mouth.
As she sucked him hard, moving her head back and forth as she kept one hand at the base of his penis, still stroking and massaging him, she felt him move the wand up and down her lips. She closed her eyes and curled her toes and as she indulged in all the pleasure she took him deeper in her mouth. He moaned deeply and pressed the vibrator against her clit firmly and a gush of squirt pushed out her walls unto the towels under her. The pleasure of it forced her to close her legs and she let his penis out of her mouth. She moved the vibrator from between her legs to give her a brief moment of relief. She took a breath and he did as well before she took his back into her mouth and began sucking him again then opened her legs.
Fitz moved the vibrator over her clit and lightly moved it up and down her lips. She arched her back and grabbed into the sheets with her free hand as her pleasure rose higher and higher until she let out a geyser of squirt and orgasmed. She locked her legs, overwhelmed by the pleasure. Just as her orgasm was reaching its end she felt Fitz begin to thrust into her mouth as he moaned in pleasure and then felt his cum fill her mouth. He pulled out of her mouth and inhaled deeply before he turned the vibrator off and tossed it on the bed.
"That was fucking great," he groaned as he lifted her and climbed onto the bed, laying her in the middle before he lay beside her. Olivia smiled as he wrapped his arms around her. "It was," she agreed as she tried to reach down for the blanket but Fitz reached and pulled it over their body.
"Thank you," she said softly.
He caressed her belly.
"Are you going to sleep?" he asked.
She shook her head, "I'm trying not to."
"Why? Go to sleep."
She laughed, "No. I just want to lay here with you."
"Okay, well then talk to me," Fitz said.
"About what?"
"Anything you want."
"I can just lay here and yap," she said with a grin.
"Please do," he said.
"Okay," she said. "I'm really excited about moving back to New York. I've wanted to do it for such a long time so I'm glad we finally can. I know you'd hate the city so I was thinking that we should get another house, maybe a weekend or holiday house in the Hamptons or something, you know, so you can have a beautiful beach and yard space, a lot of nature so you can hike with the girls-"
"You wouldn't hike with us?"
"Absolutely not. You will never get me to go hiking."
"I'm gonna keep trying," he said.
She laughed, Wee could have the best of both worlds, so you won't feel too clustered in the city."
"That's perfect," he said as he kissed her shoulder.
"I'm a little nervous," she said.
"About the move?"
"No, about baby Fitz," she said. "Apart from the fact that he's quite large, I don't want to have a c-section but if it's the only option for a safe birth then I'll gladly do it, still, if they decide he's small enough for me to birth him vaginally he'd still be much large than Lily was."
"You're worried you'd tear?"
"I tore with Lily and she was 6 and a half pounds. You heard what my doctor said."
"Yeah, she thinks he'll be a ten-pounder at least," Fitz said. "I'm sorry. This is my fault somehow. I know it."
"It is," Olivia agreed with a smile. "Apart from all my anxiety about birth, I'm just trying to plan for what comes after. With a new baby I have to figure out when to get back to work. He'll be born in September…I think I could go back to work in March or so, after fall/winter collections in February. He'll be around 7 months old… Do you think that's too young?"
"No…7 months…he can eat steak at 7 months. What do you mean "too young"?"
Olivia laughed, "I'm serious."
"I am too," he said. "You might not be able to even breastfeed him, wasn't Lily biting your nipples off at 7 months."
"She was," Olivia said with a laugh. "She was biting me so hard. The twins never bit me."
He chuckled and sighed, "Our little Lily…I don't know, I think she's going to be so great. She has this thing about her…I just think whatever she does she'll be the best that ever does it."
Olivia nodded in agreement, "I think Daisy will be a creative, some sort of fashion designer or fashion icon and she'll be better than I ever was and as for Izzy, I think she's a wildcard."
Fitz nodded in agreement. They both chatted until they drifted off for a short nap and woke up when there was a knock on their door. Fitz jumped up and quickly slipped on his shirt and underpants.
"Mommy, Daddy, open the door," Lily called. "It's time to make brownies."
"Coming princess," Fitz called.
Olivia stretched in her sleep.
"Hurry Daddy," Daisy called as she knocked again.
Olivia sat up after hearing all the noise. Fitz tossed her clothing and walked to the bathroom to wash his hands quickly. Olivia stood and dressed as quickly as she could. Fitz returned from the bathroom just as she was pulling her shirt over her head. She walked to the bathroom and washed her hands. Fitz opened the door.
"How was your nap?" he asked all three of his beautiful, little daughters.
"Boring," Lily said. "Where is Mommy? Is mommy ready to make brownies?"
"Your nap was boring? It was a nap, what did you expect?"
Olivia walked out of the bathroom. "Are you ready to bake with mummy?" Olivia asked.
"Yes," they all screamed cheerfully.
"Alright, let's go then," Olivia said.
They headed downstairs. Fitz sat on the island watching happily as Olivia stood with the girls. They brought their little stools to stand on so they could properly see and reach across the counter. She took all the ingredients from the fridge and pantry and then helped the girls measure them all out. Fitz grabbed his camera and took a few photos of them as they did.
They mixed up the brownie batter and Olivia helped them pour out the batter into their own small brownie trays then she let them add whatever toppings they wanted. For Lily that was M 's and extra chocolate chunks. For Daisy, that was peanut butter cups and for Isabelle, it was both.
She made a small tray of plain brownies for herself and Fitz before she put all four trays in the oven. While they baked, Olivia made them a snack of baby carrots, bell peppers, and apples. They agreed to eat it so they could have the brownies as a treat after.
The brownies finished in the oven soon after they finished their snack. Olivia grabbed a pair of oven mitts and pulled the trays out of the oven and placed them on top of the stove.
"Can we have it now?" Lily asked.
"It has to cool first, Rosebud," Olivia said as she took the mitts off and rubbed her belly.
"Are you okay?" Fitz asked.
"I am, I just remembered I totally forgot to take my prenatal earlier." she walked to the pantry and took her tablet before she swallowed them with a sip of her glass of water on the table.
"Is it cool now?" Daisy asked.
"Not yet," Fitz said. "What are we having for dinner? What are you craving?"
Olivia thought for a moment. She was especially lucky to have a personal chef in her home for 5 days, sometimes more a week. It meant that her cravings were hardly cravings for long.
"What I really want is sushi but unfortunately I have to give raw fish a time out. Maybe…wings…really good chicken wings with a lot of sauce…maybe like a garlic soy sauce or something. There's a Korean barbeque place downtown called Insa that has the best wings. I haven't had them in a long time."
"Alright," he pulled out his phone and googled the restaurant to find their menu then handed her his phone. "Let me know what you want."
Olivia scrolled through the menu. "So the garlic soy wings - they're a bit spicy so I think we'll also get the fried chicken for the girls, mochi cheese balls, grilled pork belly…ohh shishito peppers…yum…also they have a sauteed Korean broccoli and shitake mushroom…bulgogi and marinated short ribs and kimchi fried rice and also white rice for the girls."
"Okay, I'll get Rob to head down and order it," Fitz said as he stood.
"Please Mommy, tell me it's all done now," Isabelle whined.
Olivia smiled and touched the brownie pan. "It's still hot, I'm sorry Izzy."
"I'll be back in a few," he said as he headed out.
Olivia took some small plates out of the cupboard for the girls and some cups. "Do you want to pour the milk to drink with your brownies?" she asked them.
"Yes," they all nodded excitedly.
She took the milk from the fridge and had each girl pour a cup of it. She put the cups in the microwave to warm the milk then she took them out. She began to take pieces of the brownies from each tray. They were still warm but not hot. "Alright, I have to put them in the refrigerator for a bit, okay, only a few minutes."
They were impatient as they waited but when Fitz returned a few minutes later, Olivia took the brownies from the fridge and placed each one in front of the girls.
"Alright try them, let me know if you like them," Olivia said.
Isabelle shook excitedly and Fitz choked back a laugh. Olivia smiled when she saw him and all three of them began taking bites of their brownie. "It's so good," Lily said as she chewed.
"Mhmm," Daisy agreed. "Mommy, I want to bake every day!"
Isabelle took another large chunk of it. "Jesus Izzy," Fitz said with a laugh. "Smaller bites please, aren't you sick?"
Olivia laughed.
Lily laughed as she ate more, "Mommy, eat some of brownie. It's yummy."
Olivia took a small piece from the tray with her batter. It was warm and absolutely delicious thanks to the special cacao powder Greg sourced from a chocolatier in Belgium. Olivia fed Fitz a small piece with her finger.
"Yeah, that's delicious."
Olivia nodded and fed him another piece. She let the girls finish their brownies before she cleared the plates away and put them in the dishwasher. "Alright, it's bath time now and dinner should be here once we're all done."
"Mommy, I want more brownies please," Isabelle complained as she wiped her runny nose on her shirt.
"Honey, you and your sisters can have another piece of brownie after dinner, alright?"
She nodded happily, "Alright mommy."
Her sisters nodded in agreement as they stood from their chairs.
"I'll do bathtime," he said. "You take a break."
"It's alright, I want to pamper my babies a bit," she said as she leaned over and kissed him against his temple. "Just relax. I'll be back in a bit."
She took the girls upstairs to their bathroom. She filled the bathtub with warm water as all three of them took off their clothes. They took turns using the toilet as Olivia went to the bathroom closet and grabbed a bottle of essential oils to add a few drops of eucalyptus to the water and then the bubble bath soap. As the water rose and filled with suds she felt the temperature to make sure it wasn't too hot. Once the tub was full she turned off the faucet and the girls stepped into the water. She took a sponge and slowly kneeled and bathed one at a time before she washed each of their hair.
Their hair was way too long and she had long internally debated cutting them but it would take some convincing. Lily's hair was down to her waist and the twins were just a few inches shorter. She took her time brushing their hair before she made two long twists into each of their hair. Once they were finished with their bath she stood slowly. Her knees hurt from kneeling for such a long time, especially with her heavy belly. She took their towel robes and once each girl was wrapped and dried, she blow-dried their hair as fast as she could. They picked out their pajama pants and got dressed before Olivia headed back into the bathroom and took a nasal spray from the vanity cabinet. She sprayed it into each of their noses to help with their stuffiness before they headed back down to the kitchen.
She smelled food as soon as she reached the passageway to the kitchen. When she reached, Fitz had laid out all the food on the table.
"Mmmmm…this all smells delicious," she said. "However, before we dig in, you have to take more medicine."
"Noooo," Daisy yelled and took off again but Fitz caught her and lifted her over his shoulder.
"Argghh…I need to be faster," she whined.
"Yes you do," Fitz said. "Now don't give mommy a hard time to take your medicine or you'll never get another bite of that brownie."
Olivia had to bite her lips to stop herself from laughing.
"That's not fair," she cried. "You're not my friend Daddy. You're mean and I'm never ever ever gonna talk to you again."
"Okay, just take your medicine first. Do you want to be sick forever-"
"Well Daddy, sometimes you get better even when you don't take medicine," Lily chimed in.
"Was that helpful little miss Lily?" Fitz quipped.
Lily looked on confused.
Olivia poured the medicine into the dosage caps and brought them over to Fitz and Daisy. "Please, just take it for mommy," Olivia begged. "I'll give you two brownie pieces."
"Okay," Daisy said as she calmed completely. When Olivia gave her the medicine, she took both without issue and gagged slightly after the last dose. Olivia was amused. Fitz sat her down on the chair. "Wow," he said.
Daisy just shrugged.
Both Isabelle and Lily took their doses without issue and Fitz placed Korean fried chicken legs and plain white rice on their plates. He put a bit of sauce on the side because he knew his daughters were selectively picky.
Olivia moved to the food but Fitz stopped her. "Sit," he commanded. "I'll get your dinner."
She smiled and walked to the chair by the island and sat, "Alright."
He took a plate, "how many wings?"
"Two," she answered.
"Two? They're not even whole wings-their half wings."
"I'll start with two. It's a lot of food," she said.
"Okay, you want a little bit of everything?"
Olivia nodded. Fitz put small bits of each dish on her plate and then handed it to her with a fork.
"Thank you," Olivia
"Daddy, can I have some apple juice?" Lily asked.
"Let's do water instead," Fitz said as he took a few small bottles of water from the beverage fridge and gave them to Olivia and the girls. He made a large plate for himself and they ate together. Olivia loved watching him eat large portions of food because she never quite understood how he could eat so much and be in such great shape. There was barely any distinguishable fat on his body.
After the girls finished a good portion of their dinner, Fitz gave them the brownie they were promised for dessert. He ate a brownie as well and Olivia brought her brownie to the theater room. They watched Frozen, his daughters' favorite movie once again. Fitz was now at the point where he could recite the lines of the entire movie and he knew the songs by heart.
It was after 8:30 when they headed upstairs to have the girls brush their teeth and choose a couple of books for bed. Olivia read them one book and Fitz read them another before they tucked the twins into bed and they kissed them both goodnight. They turned off the lights then brought Lily over to her bedroom and did the same.
They headed back to their bedroom. "I need a bath, I need a long warm bath," Olivia said as she walked to their bathroom. Fitz followed her. She turned on the faucet in the bathroom and began to strip. Fitz took off his clothes as well. She added soap to the bathroom before Fitz stepped inside and sat down then leaned back against the back of the tub. Olivia went into the closet and grabbed a bottle of shampoo and conditioner then she stepped into the tub behind him and sat with her legs wrapped around him.
"I got this shampoo for you. I heard it's fucking great," she said as pushed the cap and squirted some of it in her palm. She realized she couldn't see the top of his head from behind him. His torso was much longer than hers and he couldn't lean back to lower himself because then he would be leaning on her belly. She pushed herself up and sat on the ledge at the back of the tub. Fitz moved back and settled between her legs. She lathered the soap in his hair and massaged his scalp.
"It smells great," he said as he relaxed his posture. "So I was thinking I would go to the neurologist on Monday, and get the scans done."
She smiled, "so you finally agreed then? Will you take the medication she wants you to?"
"That's a bridge too far. I'm taking baby steps here…just talking to her with you has been nice."
"I've taken medication when I've been at my worst and it helped, it helped a lot," she said as she slicked his hair back and took some of the soapy bubbles out.
"I want to get over this without medication and if I can't then I'll take it, I promise. It's really not that bad."
'"Dr. Nandi says your level of anxiety is debilitating, she said it's not something that is sustainable. If you even think about me or the girls getting hurt then you have an episode."
"Are you trying to make me have an fucking panic attack right now?"
"No," she said but then she decided to prove a point. "I don't want you to think about me dying. Apart from the 50 people who would kill me right now if they had the chance, I'm pregnant and I could die in childbirth from hemorrhaging, from an embolism, from preeclampsia, or even sepsis-"
His breath became shallow and his shoulders began to rise and fall. He felt like his heart was tightening in his chest and he couldn't catch his breath.
Olivia began to panic as well and realized she hadn't quite thought through her plan. "Fitz- just breathe-"
He was having a full-blown panic attack now. She wrapped her arms around him but he stood from the bath and stepped out and walked out of the bathroom and grabbed a towel on his way out. She stood slowly, careful not to slip in the bathroom. Once she was out of the tub she pulled on a towel robe quickly and went to find him. When she stepped out of the bathroom, he was outside on the terrace of their bedroom, standing by the railing with a towel wrapped around his waist.
She opened the French doors of the terrace and walked out to him and waited for him to turn around but he didn't. She was sure he heard her.
"I'm really really sorry-"
He turned around. His breathing still hadn't calmed. "Why did you do that?"
"I…I," she stammered a bit. "I just wanted to prove how serious it is."
He groaned, annoyed, "Olivia, I'm taking it seriously-I'm sitting with a lady I don't know for hours every week, pouring my fucking guts out to her for you- and for our daughters. I'm fucking trying Olivia."
She stared at him for a moment then smiled. "You didn't yell even though you were mad."
He sighed and then laughed as she wrapped his arms around her and hugged her, "Come here you fucking dork."
Olivia laughed, "I'm sorry, I know you're trying and I know everything won't be perfect right away. I just want you to be okay."
"I have you and I have our girls, I'm more okay than I've ever been," he said as she kissed her against her hair. "I promise."
She wrapped her arms around his waist. "Let's finish our bath."
They headed back to the bathroom and Olivia pulled off her robe and unplugged the tub since they'd both just been on the terrace barefoot they could no longer have a bath. Fitz pulled off his towel and stepped into the shower that was adjacent to the tub. Fitz turned on the rainfall shower and gauged the water until it was the perfect temperature for them. Olivia stepped into the shower behind him. They showered together, Fitz washed the shampoo from his hair and Olivia stepped out of the shower to get the conditioner. She finished washing his hair then they rinsed off again and got ready for bed.
When they got into bed together it was almost 10 pm. Olivia was tired and curled up on his side. He felt slight movement as her belly rested on him. "I just felt something-"
"Oh, yeah it was just a little kick."
Fitz leaned up. "Wait- he's just kicking in there all day and you don't say anything."
"Why would I?"
Fitz's mouth fell open. "He's kicking Olivia. That's a big deal- Christ, can you at least tell me when he does it. I'm a fucking idiot- in my mind he hadn't kicked you since the last time you told me."
Olivia smiled and yawned. "Alright, he's kicking me right now. I'll announce it every time."
"You're a little blaze' about it," Fitz said.
"Fitz, this is my 3rd pregnancy. Lily used to do flips in there. The twins were even worse, they'd be kicking two different places at once. His kicks are a bit heavier than what I remember but I am quite used to it."
He reached his hand over her belly and held it there. He felt more movement as they lay there and soon, Olivia was sleeping against his shoulder.
Olivia woke up late in the night. She was lying on her side and Fitz was behind her, holding her. She turned around and reached into his pajama pants and wrapped her fingers around his penis. She began stroking him and pressed her lips against his and sucked them. Even in his sleep he reacted to her and began to stiffen in her hand. Moments later, he opened his eyes, and the kiss was broken. It took him just a moment to realize what she needed before and turned her around and pushed her panties down. He pulled his penis out of his pants and slid it into her.
"Yess," she moaned as she grabbed the sheets under her. Fitz wrapped one hand around her breast and the other gripped her thigh tightly. He pumped into her quickly as his pleasure rose. He loved the way she felt when he was inside her…from the way she curved on the inside to how tightly she gripped him and how wet she was, even her smell when she was aroused turned him on. He rode her from behind for just a few minutes before they were close. He grabbed her tighter and continued to thrust until their orgasm passed then gave himself a minute to catch his breath. He leaned up and kissed her neck. Olivia moaned as she enjoyed the pleasure of it. She reached back and wrapped her fingers into his soft curls. She loved the intimacy of him still being inside her even though he was flaccid. She turned her face towards him and kissed him deeply. Fitz smiled when they broke the kiss and he pulled out. "Has a man ever had such a wife?" he mused as he squeezed her tightly and kissed her shoulder.
"Well, you're my first husband so no," she quipped playfully.
He laughed and kissed her again and they lay together until they fell asleep once again.
