Gwen screamed out as she fell through the swirling rainbow portal and braced herself as she spiraled down before she landed above some kind of city and quickly created a mana platform below her to catch her fall, looking at the cars flying through the streets below her.
"Okay, I'm in a city," she said as she looked out into the ocean to see a giant T-shaped building looming over the city on a small island in the distance. "But it's definitely not Bellwood."
She then walked over the streets on her mana platforms, examining what was going on before she spotted a truck stop in front of a strange being that looked kind of like a cyborg ninja that was cyan on the right half and magenta on the left.
"What the..." she asked before reaching into her pouch and tying her cat mask around her eyes.
"What, are you crazy?! Get out of the way!" the driver asked as the cyborg ninja (known as Saico-Tek) reached out and pulled out a device that unfolded into a magenta shuriken that he tossed at the windshield and it sliced through it before the driver leaped out the door and the device started beeping before it exploded in a puff of magenta smoke.
Saico-Tek continued moving forwards with Lucky Girl following him from above, careful not to be seen as he tossed more and more shurikens outwards that instantly detonated in several puffs of cyan and magenta smoke, sending all the civilians of the city into a panic before a bus suddenly screeched to a stop in front of him and the civilians all screamed as they filed out.
Lucky Girl then shouted out as she blasted Saico-Tek back with a mana beam from her hands, just as a bird-shaped boomerang flew forwards and knocked the shuriken out of his hand.
But much to both Saico-Tek and Lucky Girl's shock, a green hawk suddenly screeched as it flew overhead and then, when it saw the girl in the black cat suit with the magical charm bag strapped to her belt and the strange tattoos on her right arm, the bird looked shocked as well.
And just as Saico-Tek got over the shock, a blue sonic laser, several green bolts of energy and a few shadowy magic blasts flew outwards, causing him to backflip to avoid them before landing on top of a street light.
"Since you're new in town, we're going to make this very simple," a tough male voice sounded and Lucky Girl's eyes widened as a young boy caught the birdarang and the hawk landed next to his friends and morphed into a human form.
Lucky Girl looked down and folded her eyes at the spot of the five teenage superheroes below.
The leader was a young man with blue eyes, short spikey black hair, a small nose, a sharp chin, light skin, an athletic slim build, and his outfit consisted of a black/white domino mask that covered his eyes, a red armored vest with a yellow letter 'R' inside a black circle over his left pectoral muscle, a short-sleeve green T-shirt underneath, a long black cape that has a yellow interior, green elbow-high gloves, a yellow utility belt, green tights, and black ankle-high steel-toed boots. His name was Dick Grayson, but all know her as Robin.
Floating him was a beautiful, 16-year-old Tamaranean girl with emerald green eyes with light-green scleras, long fiery-red straight hair that goes down to her waist, small eyebrows, a small nose, a sharp chin, E-Cup breasts, bright orange skin, a slender hourglass figure, a plump butt and was wearing a sleeveless purple crop top that shows her midriff, silver forearm-length gauntlets with a green jewel on both of her arms, a silver armband on her right arm, a stem stalk purple mini-skirt, and purple thigh-high boots that have white stockings. Her name is Koriand'r, but we all know her as Starfire.
The boy the hawk morphed into was a young man with light green eyes, short spikey forest green hair, pointy ears, a long canine tooth that sticks out from his lower lip, a sharp chin, Green Skin, a slim toned build, and his outfit consists of a black/magenta jumpsuit, gray gloves, a black belt, and black boots trimmed with magenta. His name is Garfield Logan, but he is also known as the animal shape-shifter hero Beast Boy.
The fourth hero was a young African-American man with a single grey eye with the other one being replaced with a glowing red eye, a bald head and his entire body was completely cybernetic with glowing blue shoulders and joints with silvery white limbs. His name was Victor Stone, but he is also known as Cyborg.
The fifth and final hero was a teenage goth girl with violet eyes, short violet hair in the shape of a bob cut, a red gem that is outlined in black inlaid planted on her forehead, a small nose, a sharp chin, D-Cup breasts, light gray skin, a slender hourglass figure, a large thick ass, and her outfit consists of a hooded dark blue cloak with a long-sleeved, bluish-black leotard underneath, on her cloak she has a circular black/red jewel set in a gold plate that attaches the whole thing together, a red/gold belt with the same jewels around it, and dark blue ruffled ankle-boots. Her name is Rachel Roth, daughter of Trigon, but she likes to be called Raven.
"Stop now," Starefire ordered.
"Yeah, man," Cyborg said. "The locals don't like it when you blow up their stuff."
"Put your hands in the air and-" Robin began, but was cut off as Saico-Tek put his hands into the air and then leaped off the street light, activating a jetpack that shot out cyan and magenta thrusters that blasted away from the scene.
"Hands in the air, dude! Not your whole body!" Beast Boy shouted as Lucky Girl nodded.
"Why does his voice sound kind of familiar?" she thought. ;-)
"Tourists," Raven scoffed as she flew up and then was shocked as she traveled alongside Lucky Girl in the sky.
"Yeah, I'm kind of one too," she said as she moved quickly as Raven looked to her.
"Titans, go!" Robin ordered.
Starfire flew up as Robin immediatley put on his helmet before getting onto his motorcycle, the R-Cycle, Beast Boy morphed into a cheetah and sped off after him, and Cyborg drove his beloved T-Car after Saico-Tek.
"Raven, who is the girl who is traveling alongside you?" Starfire asked as Lucky Girl turned to her.
"Oh, I'm from out of town. Don't worry, I'm a friend," she said. "Name's Gwen Tennyson. But right now, you can call me Lucky Girl."
"Gotcha," Cyborg said from his car, sticking his head out the window. "You're not from around here are you?"
"Yep," Lucky Girl said. "I'm from another dimension, believe it or not."
"No, we believe it," Robin said. "We've dealt with interdimensional stuff before. But there'll be time for mingling later. We have to stop a supervillain."
"So do any of you have a clue what this genius is after?" Raven asked.
"Who cares what he wants?" Cyborg asked. "What he's getting a helping of Grade-A butt whoop!"
"Alright, team! Let's see what he's made of!" Robin shouted, firing some rockets out from his motorcycle, which Saico-Tek let go past him before he destroyed them with his shuriken and flying by the girls down an alleyway.
Everyone stopped in their tracks before Beast Boy changed direction and sped into the alley, only to be met with the explosions from Saico-Tek's shuriken. Thankfully, he changed into a turtle just in time and hid in his shell to protect himself.
Saico-Tek flew out of the alley, avoiding the pink, green and black energy blasts that sailed past him from the three airborne heroines as they all ascended after him, firing out their various energy blasts, which Saico-Tek deflected with a set of nunchucks. He then dropped down below them before jetting away.
"Let's go!" Lucky Girl shouted as she ran after him with Starfire and Raven at her sides.
Saico-Tek also went down above Robin and Cyborg's vehicles and blasted at them, which they narrowly avoided and he looked ahead to the T-shaped building, only to be met with Beast Boy, who was shaped as a hawk, only to be met with an incendiary shuriken to the face, sending him plummeting to the ground. Fortunately, he was caught by Lucky Girl, who flew by and caught him a her mana platform that she stood on as she flew after Saico-Tek like a hoverboard.
"Okay," Beast Boy said. "Am I the only one who's sick of these exploding things?"
"Does this look like a taxi to you?" Lucky Girl asked.
"No. It's way too flat and circular."
"No free rides!"
Beast Boy groaned as he leaped off the platform and transformed into a pterodactyl, rejoining the chase.
Cyborg examined Saico-Tek from the ground, who took out two balls from his pouch and Cyborg readied his cannon, sticking his head out the window.
"I know you're not throwing that at my car!"
Cyborg shouted out and blasted at Saico-Tek, blasting his arm to bits. But as the smoke cleared, a new arm generated, changing from shades of cyan, magenta, yellow and key black before it became its original color again, shocking all of the Titans and Lucky Girl.
"How did he do that?" Cyborg asked.
And that was when a cyan shuriken flew in and stuck itself in the car seat and began counting down.
"Aw, man."
Cyborg leaped out of the car to be caught in Beast Boy's talons and flew off just as the T-Car blew to smithereens... again.
Just as Saico-Tek flew in, Starfire flew up and tapped his shoulder.
"Um, excuse me. But I did not wish to do this when you were not looking."
Starfire then threw a punch down, only for Saico-Tek to dodge, grab her arm and toss her away before countering with two more shuriken bombs that sent her tumbling to the ground, only to be caught by Robin as he sped by on the R-Cycle and placed her behind him.
"You okay?"
"I am now."
"Then hang on!"
Robin then jumped the highway barrier with the thrusters from the bottom of his bike before rejoining the chase in the streets. Then, he pressed a button, which caused some turrets to pop out of the sides of the bike and he shot out a ton of energy bolts at Saico-Tek, who then avoided them by gripping the side of a building before shooting into another alleyway.
"But he went-" Starfire began.
"Down a dead end," Lucky Girl noted.
Suddenly, Robin looked down at the radar to see Saico-Tek stop and then burst out of the adjacent building as she groaned.
"Me and my big mouth."
And that was when the trio blasted at Saico-Tek with their various projectiles, which he avoided before a train suddenly blocked their path from him on the monorail, causing them all to stop in their tracks. Robin was not deterred by this, however, and he drove the R-Cycle up an adjacent flight of stairs and then leaped onto the roof of the train to witness Saico-Tek leave the city and head for the T-shaped building.
"Starfire! Fly!" Robin ordered as he leaped off of his bike and Starfire caught him, flying him after Saico-Tek as Lucky Girl followed them along with Raven, Cyborg and Beast Boy.
"Think you scared him off?" Raven asked.
"Not a chance," Lucky Girl said.
"He's heading straight for-" Robin began.
"Titans Tower!" Cyborg realized.
Indeed, Saico-Tek began blasting at the tower with all of the incendiary shuriken he had, causing several clouds of cyan and magenta smoke to appear, laying absolute waste to everything as Beast Boy flew Cyborg below him.
"You're gonna lose a lot more than an arm this time!" Cyborg shouted, blasting at Saico-Tek with his sonic cannon, which the cyborg ninja avoided and then tossed his shuriken down at them, causing Beast Boy to morph back to normal and the duo fell to the ground, only to be caught by Starfire.
"Azarath Metrion Zinthos!" Raven chanted, sandwiching Saico-Tek between two large boulders, which she then retracted, noticing that Saico-Tek was not deterred in the least bit as he flew up and gave a whirling kick to Raven, sending her flying into the tower.
That was when Robin and Lucky Girl dove down from the top of the tower as Lucky Girl gave out a chant.
"Metallo Discombobulus!" she shouted as she blasted her spell outwards at Saico-Tek, causing his jetpack to malfunction and spark out.
As Saico-Tek and Robin were falling, the former brought out two more shuriken that he attempted to cut Robin with, only for the Boy Wonder to grapple him and fire his grappling hook around one of the tower's support beams to save himself and then he tossed another grappling hook out from his pouch that wrapped around Saico-Tek, finally restraining him with a single shuriken stabbing into the ground as the rest of the team all hit the ground safely as Lucky Girl nodded.
"Our house!" Cyborg said, looking up to assess the damage. "Look what he did to our house!"
"Dude, I need a vacation," Beast Boy groaned, rubbing his neck.
"Who are you?" Robin ordered as the six teens loomed over the cyborg ninja. "What do you want?"
Saico-Tek only spoke to them in Japanese, which none of them could understand.
"Aa. Dame da. Kore...tsukamanai koto ni natterun da. (Ah, this is bad. This... I wasn't supposed to have been caught.)"
"Um, either that wasn't English or I think I have a concussion," Beast Boy noted.
Robin and Lucky Girl then looked down to see the shuriken retract itself into a magenta ball form, which Robin then picked up.
Later, as the team stood in their home with Gwen using her telekinesis to pick up the damage, Cyborg looked on in despair.
"What a mess," Raven said as she stood by the catsuited mage, who had taken off her mask.
"Aw, I really need a vacation," Beast Boy said.
"I can rebuild my car," he said, tears starting to form. "I can repair my tower. But my sofa?! I can't even look!"
"Here, here, Cyborg," Starfire said, patting the cybernetic human on his shoulder, prompting a smile from him... just before Raven telekinetically lifted some cleaning supplies to them.
"Huh?"
"Well, this place isn't gonna clean itself," Raven said as everyone immediately got to work in repairing the tower as she turned to Gwen. "So you're..."
"From another universe," she answered. "I'm a member of a great superhero team called the Omni-Team along with my sister, cousins, my boyfriend and his sister."
"How did you get stuck here, Gwen?" Starfire asked.
"We had just destroyed one of our most dangerous enemies yet at the Forge of Creation-"
"The place hwere all Celestialsapiens are born?" Raven asked.
"Yes. My boyfriend Kevin absorbed all the energy he had and the rest of us killed him. But the resulting energy from the fight created some universal portals that we all fell through and I guess I ended up here. From my perspective, it was only two hours ago."
"Rough, but not unheard of where I'm from," Raven said.
"So I'm basically stuck here until the Protectors locate me."
"The interdimensional protection agency?" Starfire asked, which prompted a nod from Raven.
"Every member of the Protectors is an absolute legend," Raven noted. "This isn't the kind of club you can just join. You have to be invited by their leaders."
"And they clearly want my cousins Ben and Jen to join them," Gwen said. "They just haven't had the chance to ask because we were too focused on stopping Aggregor."
"Dudes, seriously," Beast Boy said. "When was the last time we took a vacation?"
"Never," Robin said as he fixed the tower's main computer. "We're heroes, Beast Boy. We don't take vacations. Basic systems are back online. If anybody needs me, you know where to look."
"What about the new girl?" Cyborg asked as the redhead looked to her.
"Well, she's clearly on our side," Robin said. "If she's going to be stuck with us for awhile, then treat her with the best hospitality."
Robin then entered the tower's interrogation room, where he placed all of Saico-Tek's weapons and the cyborg ninja himself was restrained, strapped to a table and shouting at Robin in Japanese.
"Hanase. Hanasettara. Tanomu yo. Chigaun da. Tanomu kara Nihon niga shite kure. [Let me go! LET ME GO! I'm begging you! This is a mistake! I beg that you send me back to Japan!"]
An annoyed Robin simply stuck his hand out and pressed a button on the nearby console before wlaking into the room to interrogate Saico-Tek.
"Translation computer on."
"You must let me go. I am Saico-Tek. You all look to stop me. Only he may stop me. I belong in Tokyo!"
"Then why are you here?! You attacked my home, you endangered my friends and another hero who just came here. And if you wanna see tomorrow, you're going to tell me why!"
"I was sent. My mission," Saico-Tek answered. "He made me do it. This tower, no choice!"
"Who sent you?"
"No! No! I am not supposed to speak! You are not supposed to catch me! He is worse than any criminal. Angry. Cruel! He will erase me!"
"Who sent you to attack our tower?!"
"...Brushogun."
And with that, Saico-Tek did a front flip to kick the sprinkler system, triggering it and sending torrents of water down into the room. And when Robin recovered from the shock, he noticed that Saico-Tek had vanished. However, out of his peripherals, he noticed some streaks of cyan and magenta in the water as it traveled down the drain.
"This doesn't make any sense," Robin said, looking out over the horizon of Jump City and looking at the disarmed shuriken in his hand. "People don't just disappear."
"I don't know what to tell you, man," Cyborg said. "The crime scanner's one of the only things we've got working in this place and it can't find him anywhere."
"I can't make psychic contact either," Raven said, meditating as Gwen nodded.
"I can't find his mana anywhere either," she said. "And that's one of my specialties. It's almost like he never existed."
"Perhaps this Saico-Tek possesses the power of teleportation?" Starfire suggested.
"If he could teleport, he would've done it the moment he was caught."
"Oh!" Beast Boy said, stepping up. "Maybe he just wasn't waterproof?"
That was when he was met with furious glares from Raven and Cyborg.
"Right. Not helping."
"Call me crazy to agree with him, but it would explain why he just vanished after activating the sprinklers," Gwen said, putting a hand to her chin.
"So if the dude vanished into thin air, how are we supposed to find him?" Cyborg asked.
"By tracking down his boss," Robin nodded. "This Brushogun ordered an attack on our headquarters. He nearly destroyed our home. He will be brought to justice. Everyone, pack your things. We're heading for Tokyo!"
"Aw, sweet! We're going on vacation!" Beast Boy shouted as Gwen nodded to herself.
"I get stuck in another dimension and I'm already heading to another country," she said. "But at least I'm making new friends already."
Upon everyone packing up their things, which were too numerous to fit into the T-Ship, which had just been outfitted with a sixth car for Gwen, they decided to tie all the luggage to the top of the ship before blasting off to Japan.
A few hours of sightseeing on the ocean and Gwen mingling with her new friends later, the six heroes finally arrived in Tokyo, where everyone looked on at the sights and Gwen smiled with her hands on her hips at Mount Fuji.
"Tokyo," Cyborg said. "We made it. Told you it was left at Hawaii."
"I always wanted to go to Tokyo," Gwen said, tying her mask around her eyes again. "...I just didn't expect it to be the Tokyo of another Earth."
"Oh," Starfire said, stars in her eyes at the beauty of the city. "The city lights are like a million tiny phenorbla flies."
"It's more beautiful than I ever could've imagined," Gwen said. "Just as beautiful as London and Paris."
"It may look nice, but there's something rotten brewing down there," Robin said. "And we're going to-"
"WHOO! Yeah!" Beast boy shouted, leaping down from the T-Ship, now clad in a pink Hawaiian shirt, white shorts, pink flip flops and pink sunglasses. "Hello, Japan! So when do we get to go see the Great Wall?"
"Never," Raven said. "It's in China."
"Ooh, but you know what is in Tokyo? The world famous, number one greatest, most awesome Japanese comic book company: Wakamono Shukan!"
Beast Boy then gestured to the comic book company's headquarters.
"Oh!" he shouted, pulling Cyborg and Raven to the building. "We gotta take the tour! Now! Please? We can't come here on vacation and not-"
Suddenly, he was interrupted by Robin, who popped up behind him along with Gwen.
"We are not on vacation," Robin said. "We're heroes. Not tourists."
"As much as I hate to say it, I think Robin is right," Gwen said as she looked down. "Whoever this Brushogun is, he's clearly bad news."
"Our mission is to locate Brushogun and bring him to justice. And since we're guests in this country, we need to be on our best behavior. So let's just do our job and try to stay out of trouble."
And with that, Robin walked off with the rest of the Titans, including Gwen, following after him.
"Come on!" Beast Boy said. "How much trouble could we possibly get in?"
Little did the Titans know, their every move was being watched by a mysterious figure on several monitors.
"So, the Teen Titans have come to Tokyo. And it seems they have a new member with them. Saico-Tek must have talked. Most unfortunate, don't you agree my friend?"
Some pained groaning was heard in the room next to him.
"But you needn't worry. I will soon give these heroes a good reason to leave."
The mysterious figure, who was apparently Brushogun, typed in some commands on his console and a nearby printing press immediately fired up, starting to print something monstrous.
"Toky-whoa," Beast Boy said, with the rest of the team enamored with the sights and sounds of the city.
"So, where to now?" Raven asked.
Gwen then rifled through a brochure with a nod. "The roughest part of town is in the Shinjuku district."
"Then we'll start our search there," Robin said.
"Okay. Which way is that?" Cyborg asked.
"I don't know. I can't read the signs."
"No problem. We'll just ask for directions," Beast Boy said, turning to a local. "Um, hi. How do we get to Shinjuku?"
"Ee. Sumimasen. Eigo ga wakaranain desu, tasukete wo rigari naru na. ["Hm? I'm sorry. I don't speak English, so I can't help you."] the man said before turning to walk away.
"Okay, thanks," Beast Boy said before turning to his friends. "...I have absolutely no idea what he said."
"Perhaps I may be of assistance," Starfire said before reaching to a young local and giving him a large kiss on the lips, much to everyone's shock (and Robin's fury) before they were further shocked by what she said next. "Sumimasen kedo, Shinjuku wa docchi no houkou desu ka. ["Excuse me, but which direction is Shinjuku?"]
"Acchi da yo. ["That way."]"
"Doumo arigatou. ["Thank you very much."]"
"Daisuki. ["I love you."] the boy finished, seeing hearts as he walked away and Starfire rejoined her friends with a giggle.
"It is this way."
"Um... what was that?" Gwen asked.
"Yeah, Starfire. Why did you just kiss that guy?"
"Oh, the people of my planet are able to learn any language instantaneously through lip contact."
"So you speak Japanese now?" Cyborg asked.
"Mm-hmm."
"That's great!"
"Yeah. Great," Robin shrugged as the team followed Starfire.
"I know that look anywhere, Robin," Gwen said, jabbing the team's leader with a smirk. "It's the same look my boyfriend has whenever he sees me. You love her."
"No I don't!"
"You don't have to keep a secret from me just because I'm new," Gwen said. "Since I'm stuck here for the time being, I want to make friends. I'm sure the rest of my team are going through the same thing wherever they are."
"Okay, fine. But please don't tell Starfire."
"Alright, I won't tell her," Gwen said. "But you should."
Suddenly, all of the civilians screamed out as they ran away from the scene.
"Nigeru! Taihen da! Kaibutsu ga densen o kitteru zo!"
"What are they saying?" Raven asked Starfire.
"'Run. The monster is attacking the power lines."
Indeed, the team looked upwards and a giant Godzilla-like monster moved into the scene with a roar and the team looked on, shocked as it moved through the city's power lines, tearing through them instantly.
"Kaiju!" Lucky Girl shouted.
"Titans, go!"
The Titans immediately sprang into action with Robin tossing his explosive discs, Lucky Girl, Starfire and Raven blasted out their respective energy blasts and Beast Boy carried Cyborg in pterodactyl form as the cybernetic hero blasted his sonic cannon at the behemoth.
Then, Lucky Girl's Lightning Charm tattoo glowed as she and Cyborg combined their blasts together, creating a large hole in the behemoth's chest... which then instantly sealed back up with flashing colors of cyan, magenta and yellow before it settled back to green.
"That's the same power as Saico-Tek," Cyborg realized.
"Because that thing works for Brushogun too."
The kaiju roared as it blasted green energy beams from its eyes, which created a crater where the team was once standing before everyone ran/flew away, Robin doing various acrobatic tricks to avoid the beast's lasers as it loomed above him. Robin then shouted out as he flipped to avoid a smash from the beast's massive tails.
Lucky Girl flew by on a mana platform and then she shouted out with a massive fire blast that seared a hole in the creature's chest, which then sealed up again. In another corner, Raven telekinetically tossed a few cars at the creature's neck, not even phasing him.
"Where's a gas guzzler when you need one?" Raven asked to herself as she flew off, but she didn't get far as the creature grabbed her.
Thankfully, Beast Boy flew by in crow form before he morphed into a gorilla and smashed down on the behemoth's face, causing him to let go of Raven, before flipping around a streetlight as he fell and he landed on his feet, glaring at the kaiju as he morphed into a Tyrannosaurus Rex... only to hit his head on a bridge above and the dazed Beast Boy morphed back, swirls in his eyes. he then screamed out as the kaiju blasted him with a torrent of slime from its mouth.
Just as the creature was about to eat Beast Boy, he was blasted back by Cyborg's sonic cannon.
"I hear baseball's big in Japan," he said as he grabbed one of the support beams of the sign he was under. "Well, get ready for a grand slam!"
Unfortunately, the sign caved in above him now that it didn't have one of its supports and it collapsed right on top of him.
Starfire then flew in and laid the smack down on the kaiju's face with her massive strength before she flew in again and pulled on its ear and tossed it into a building, surprising Lucky Girl with just how strong this alien girl really was.
"Remind me not to get on her bad side," she said to Raven, who nodded curtly.
The kaiju recovered and stalked towards Starfire again, who flew back, only to be tangled in the power lines behind her, trapping her as the creature caught her, causing the young alien princess to scream in terror.
However, a circular device flew into the scene and the kaiju shrieked in pain as it stumbled back, letting go of Starfire as it stumbled back before looking down at Robin, who looked up at it with a taunting smile on his face.
"Hey! Over here! Your mother was a salamander!"
Insulted, the kaiju ran off after Robin, leaving the rest recovering as Cyborg, Starfire and Lucky Girl followed the leader of the Teen Titans while Raven reached down to help Beast Boy up.
"Aw!" he shouted, looking at the slime staining his pink shirt. "How am I supposed to pick up hot Japanese girls with a big stain on my shirt?"
Raven only flew over to him and shook her head. "Your skin is green, you have fangs and your ears are pointed. You're really worried about the shirt?"
"Hey! Chicks dig the ears!" Beast Boy shouted as he tore off the shirt and chased after Raven, joining the chase.
Robin ran through the alleyway as the kaiju roared after him, tearing through several buildings in the process, blasting its lasers at Robin, who turned a corner to avoid it as Lucky Girl teleported beside him and gave him a nod as she gave him a lift onto her mana platform as they flew through the sky above it.
The kaiju its slime blast at the duo again, but they separated as Robin fired his grappling hook at a passing subway, hooking onto it as Lucky Girl groaned and flew beside him. Unfortunately, they didn't get far as the creature's tail flew in and smashed the subway off the tracks, but the duo thankfully landed on the street safely. They looked up as the kaiju lifted a section of the bridge up and tore it in two, charging up its lasers again as it blasted a circle on the area Robin and Lucky Girl were standing in and creating a blazing green circle around them that quickly dissipated.
Then, several lights flashed into the area and the duo were surrounded by several police and S.W.A.T. cars appeared.
Soon, a middle-aged Japanese man in a brown trench coat and fedora stepped out and glared at the monster looming over the city.
"Troopers, charge!" he shouted.
Several troopers in high tech gear then dispersed from the cars and surrounded the monster, leaving Robin and Lucky Girl confused as they blasted out tons of red energy blasts, pelting the kaiju, sending it stumbling back as more troopers leaped out of some oncoming helicopters with some devices.
As the rest of the Titans arrived, they were held back by the troopers as they laid their devices on the ground, which unfurled into a giant rope hoop around the creature's feet. Their leader then pulled a bar out and slammed the button, causing all of the devices to shoot out lasers, which conjoined in the air, forming a makeshift cage.
"We have got to get one of those," Cyborg said, impressed.
The troopers then moved the cage in closer, forcing it down to its knees trapping it, as the troopers' leader turned to the confused team.
"Ah, you must be the Teen Titans, yes?"
"Well, and a guest," Lucky Girl said.
"Welcome to Japan. I am Commander Uehara Daizo of the Toyko Troopers," Daizo said with a bow, which was returned by all of the Titans, except for a confused Beast Boy, until Lucky Girl elbowed him and he then bowed as well.
The next morning, the team joined Daizo on a trip, taking the elevator up to the Troopers' headquarters.
"Tokyo is a unique city, my young friends," Daizo said. "With its own unique dangers. Of course, I am sorry you had to learn this the hard way."
"We're used to danger," Robin said, turning to Lucky Girl. "All of us."
"But we appreciate your help, Commander," Lucky Girl said.
"'Commander?' No, no, no, no. You may call me Daizo, hm? We are friends. I will honor you with a tour of our headquarters and our home."
"Okay," Beas Boy said. "Lay it on us."
"I founded the Tokyo Troopers to keep the city safe. We're not too different from you, Teen Titans, except, hm-hm, we are all grown ups."
The monorail led the group to the top floor as they looked up to see hundreds upon hundreds of troopers in single file moving through the building, training, doing paperwork, basically all the typical stuff you see any military group do in their headquarters.
"My operation is a triumph of Japanese culture, technology and design," Daizo explained. "Living units are efficient, but comfortable. Hourly training sessions keep my troopers in peak form."
Lucky Girl rose an eyebrow at the strikingly similar appearance that all of the troopers seemed to have to each other. Being a member of a very similar organization herself, she certainly wasn't used to something like that.
Soon, the monorail led to the headquarters' command center, where the troopers were hard at work at the computers, scanning Tokyo for any crime.
"My highly advanced command center has reduced crime in Tokyo by 200% Not bad, hm?"
"Whoa..." Cyborg said in awe.
"Extraordinary," Starfire said.
A curious Beast Boy wandered over to the control center and was about to press ab big red button, only for Raven to slap his hand away with a snarl.
"Don't touch anything," Raven warned sternly, eliciting a whimper from Beast Boy as he slinked away.
"With your permission, Daizo, I'd like to use this equipment to complete our mission," Robin asked.
"Ah, certainly, my young friend. And what, may I inquire, is your mission?"
"We're tracking a criminal who calls himself Brushogun," Lucky Girl said.
Daizo only laughed loudly at that name. "Forgive me, but you are ignorant of our culture," he said. "Brushogun is an urban legend. A myth. I'm afraid you six have come a long way for nothing."
Lucky Girl only nodded as Daizo gestured to the computers.
"As you can see, my Troopers have Tokyo's real criminals under control."
"But Saico-Tek said..." Robin began.
"I'm sorry. I'm afraid I don't know who that is. Someone is playing a trick on you perhaps, hm?"
"Um, I'm not sure..." Robin said, reaching into his utility belt for the disarmed shuriken.
"Commander Uehara Daizo! Tokyo thanks you," the mayor of Tokyo said with arms wide open, surrounded by reporters. "You've saved our city once again."
Daizo only gave a bow, which was returned by the mayor as the Titans stood listlessly.
"It is my honor to serve, Mr. Mayor."
"Come, Commander. The people want their hero. And I want to give you another medal."'
"Enjoy your visit, Titans. But remember, here you are just tourists. Leave the law enforcement to us."
Robin only stood unsure as he stared at the pink sphere in his hand.
Later, our heroes stood on top of a building, looking out at the rooftops of Tokyo.
"So, this was a fairly impressive waste of time," Raven said.
"I'm not sure," Lucky Girl said. "I mean, there has to be a reason Saico-Tek attacked Titans Tower."
"Gwen's right," Robin said. "How could this whole thing be a wild goose chase? I feel like an idiot."
"No, please," Starfire said, placing a hand on her obvious crush's shoulder. "Do not blame Robin for the wild chasing of the goose."
"I can't even find my way around in this town, much less catch a criminal."
"You're world renowned heroes from what I've heard. You saved the entire world from Trigon and the Brotherhood of Evil. Surely, just because you're in a different country doesn't mean that has to change," Lucky Girl said.
"Ooh!" Beast Boy said as he shot up and grinned wildly. "I got it! I totally know where we need to go!"
"Let me guess, it involves manga?"
Indeed, Beast Boy had led the gang to the Wakamono Shukan headquarters, rubbing his hands together in anticipation. "Ta da!"
"Wakamono Shukan?" Starefire asked.
"The comic book place?" Raven asked.
"How'd you guess?" Cyborg asked Lucky Girl.
"Oh, it was pretty obvious. He wouldn't stop talking about it from the moment we came to Tokyo."
"I thought you were leading us to a clue about Brushogun," Robin said, an anger mark appearing on his forehead.
"Hello! Daizo said he's not real, remember?" Beast Boy reminded as he walked up to the door. "But as long as we're here, we've got to take the tour!"
Unfortunately, the green changling faceplanted into the glass door and Starfire looked up to see the Japanese writing.
"The sign says 'closed.'"
"AAAAAARGGGGGH! NO FAIR!"
"Come on," Robin sighed. "Let's just go home.
But as Robin turned to walk away, he was stopped by Cyborg, who gave a lowly snarl.
"Are you out of your spiky-haired little mind?! We gotta look around, see the town!"
"Yeah, after all, that's what vacations are for," Beast Boy said as he and Cyborg walked off.
"Whatever," Raven sighed as Starfire giggled and grabbed Robin's arm as she hovered in the air as Lucky Girl smiled and flipped her hair as she joined Raven.
"They are no longer looking for me," the mysterious figure from before examined from his hideout. "But I will be watching their every move."
The figure then pressed four buttons, which were colored of the four basic colors of ink: cyan, magenta, yellow and black. A bloodcurdling scream was heard as he placed his hand against a paper and scrawled four streaks of the four colors and four creatures walked out the front door of the building.
Starfire giggled innocently as she and Robin watched a sumo wrestling match on a jumbo screen before flying off.
Meanwhile, Cyborg wandered through the alleyways, looking at the English brochure before his eyes widened in excitement as he smirked.
"There it is. The only Japanese I need to know: all you can eat!"
Cyborg whistled as he walked into the restaurant.
Meanwhile, Robin and Starfire went on what looked like an absolutely romantic boat ride, not noticing what looked like a cyan robot looking at them from the bridge.
Elsewhere, Beast Boy sulked downwards on the steps of the comic book headquarters, holding the manga book to his chest.
"Oh, this was the only place in Japan I wanted to see. It's like paradise for comic book geeks... Did I just call myself a geek?"
As Beast Boy buried his face back into the book, a shadow loomed over him and he gasped as he looked up and saw an extremely cute Japanese girl giggling.
"Otaku."
"Otaku?" Beast Boy asked. "I think that means I'm cute." (Sure. Lots of girls find geeks attractive, BB.)
The girl giggled and ran off with a lovestruck Beast Boy following her as he took a deep breath.
"Keep it professional, Logan," he told himself. "You don't want a repeat of what happened with Terra."
Back with Robin and Starfire, Robin and a forming crowd were in absolute awe as Starfire jammed on a virtual Guitar Hero/Dance Dance Revolution-like game that was playing Turning Japanese by Kirsten Dunst, and nailing every rhythm on the guitar and the dance floor perfectly.
If the mash up of rhythm games wasn't enough, tiny moles popped up from the floor, prompting Starfire to whack them on the head with the guitar. And eventually, she managed to nail the high score perfectly, eliciting a cheer from the entire crowd. Starfire removed the virtual reality helmet and giggled in victory before giving out a victory pose.
Robin only smiled and nodded.
Meanwhile, Lucky Girl walked with Raven as they talked.
"So, you're an Anodite."
"Half-Anodite, but yeah," Lucky Girl said. "I'm surprised you know."
"I have a power to travel through dimensions too," Raven said. "After all, my father was an evil interdimensional demon. And those tattoos."
"They're magical tattoos of the Charms of Bezel. They give me the powers of the charms without having the actual charms, which are currently safe with the Protectors. You've been to the Mystic Isles, right?"
"I spent a lot of magical training there, yes," Raven said. "And from what you've told me so far, your cousins are a shoo-in for joining. I was even approached myself, but I turned them down."
"You know, Raven... I think we have a lot in common."
"Clearly," Raven said. "Once you get sent home, we're gonna have to stay in touch."
Raven and Lucky Girl then chuckled before they turned to the book stands and saw tons of Japanese kanji on the doors.
"It's embarrassing that I can read countless runes and text, but I can't read Japanese," Raven said.
"Neither can I!" Lucky Girl said before Raven turned to the store's cashier.
"I can read English, German, Latin, Romanian, ancient Sumerian and Sanskrit. Do you have anything I can read?"
The cashier put down his cup of ramen and handed Raven... a stick of gum.
"Super Twinkle Donkey Gum."
Raven gave out a shudder once the cashier winked at her as they both groaned.
"If you want, I can teach you French," Lucky Girl muttered.
"I'll take you up on that."
"Brushogun's a myth," Robin said as he and Starfire stood on top of an electricity tower. "So why do I feel like he's still out there somewhere?"
"Uh, Robin..." Starfire said, twiddling her fingers together. "About that boy and the lip contact?"
"Yeah. Is that why you kissed me when we first met? To learn English?"
Starfire only nodded in confirmation before running her hands through her hair. "On Tamaran, this merely signifies the transfer of knowledge. But on Earth, it means... more. Or so I have heard."
"Oh. More. Yeah, right," Robin said, blushing heavily. "Lip contact is... I've heard that too."
Both Robin and Starfire giggled before separatinga s Robin popped some breath spray and checked his hair while Starfire sniffed her armpits and downed a ton of breath mints and both moved closer to each other.
"Hi."
"Greetings."
"Starfire?"
"Yes, Robin?"
"You know you're my... best friend, right?"
"And you are mine."
"I never want anything to get in the way of that."
"Nothing ever could."
"I know."
"Then... we have nothing to fear."
Robin and Starfire leaned in closer and closer to each other, lips puckering... up until Robin perked up and stood up. *cue author repeatedly banging his head against the wall*
"Fear! Saico-Tek was afraid of someone. Terrified. And whoever they are, they're here in Tokyo. Everyone may think Brushogun's a myth, but to Saico-Tek, he was real."
"But even if he is real, the Commander Daizo and his trooper can surely handle-"
"Well, if they can handle it, then what are we doing here? And Gwen clearly had to have been sent here from her dimension for a reason. I think this is it."
"I believed us to be having... the fun?"
"There's nothing fun about looking like a bunch of stupid kids. We're heroes, Starfire. We don't take vacations, we don't make mistakes, and we don't have time for..."
"For what?"
"...For this."
A devastated Starfire walked up to Robin and took his hand.
"Must we always be heroes Are we capable of nothing else? Can we not, even for a few moments, be something more?"
"There is nothing more. A hero is what I am. And if you don't like it-"
"Robin? I like it more than you'll ever know," a tearful Starfire said before flying off, wiping the tears from her eyes.
Lat at night, Raven and Gwen walked through a marketplace as the two dark-clothed mages looked on at each other with a nod, not noticing the dark shadows creeping behind them. They looked back over their shoulders, only to see nothing happening. They walked off, not noticing the black ghost-like creature behind them.
"Thirty million people, one hundred thousand stores and in this entire city, the only thing to read is gum," Raven deadpanned.
"I know, right? Most of what I read is spellbooks, but i can totally relate to you, Raven," Gwen said.
The pair then felt a chill in the air and looked over their shoulders to see an open bookshop nearby.
"Hello?" Raven asked as she and her new friend entered, parting the curtains. "Anybody here?"
"This is probably a bad idea," Gwen said.
Elsewhere, Cyborg went to town on what must have been his tenth bowl of rice, bfeore it was promptly swiped from him.
"You go now! You eat too much, you. You will put me out of business!"
"But the sign says 'all you can eat.' And i can eat more." Cyborg said, determinedly.
"You can eat more? Can you eat... octopus?"
"Yes I can," Cyborg smirked as he chowed down on the eight-armed dish whole, slurping it down in one gulp, eliciting admiration from the crowd, before he stuck his tongue out in disgust.
Outside the restaurant, Beast Boy was still chasing after the Japanese girl.
"Hey, wait up!" Beast Boy shouted. "I'm otaku, remember?"
The girl only winked before running into a karaoke bar, followed closely by the green changeling, following her like a love zombie.
"Where'd she go?"
Suddenly, a spotlight shown on Beast Boy as he had wandered onto the stage and the emcee promptly handed him a microphone and gestured to the lyrics screen on stage and very familiar music began playing.
"Karaoke? Wait! The lyrics are in Japanese!"
Beast Boy quickly changed the lyrics to English and then began singing his heart out, much to the love and insanity of the women in the audience.
"I will obey the traffic rules.
Teen Titans!
I will eat everything without likes or dislikes!
Teen Titans!
Earthquakes, lightning, fire, dad!
Grammar, math, science, social studies
There is nothing I am afraid of
Teen Titans GO!
Holler my name
Teen Titans!
Half your troubles will be gone
Teen Titans!
Father, schedule control, uh!
Mama's waiting for sure
Wishes are ended
Teen Titans GO!
One, Two, Three, Four, Five!
Teen Titans GO!
Goodnight, Tokyo!"
Beast Boy ended his performance with a mic drop and and was then prmoptly tackled off the stage and glomped by all the Japanese teenagers in the audience, who pelted him with tons of kisses.
"I love this town."
"As I suspected," the mysterious figure from before said as he slammed his fist down on his chair as he examined Robin, who only looked at the disarmed shurkien in his hand. "The child continues to investigate."
A loud groaning was heard behind the figure as he sighed.
"Yes, he is persistent. But Saico-Tek will take him off the case. Permanently."
"It's not much, but it's the only clue I have," Robin said, examining the shuriken ball. "No screws, no seams. What's this thing made of?"
Robin then squeezed the ball in his hands, only for some magenta streaks to come off on his glove.
"Nice."
Suddenly, Robin was struck in the chest by another armed shuriken, knocking the other one out of his hand as the shuriken detonated and sent Robin hurdling off the building. Fortunately, Robin fired his grappling hook to another building to save himself and he looked on a balcony to see the cyborg ninja who attacked his home, albeit this time, he was entirely magenta.
"Saico-Tek!"
Saico-Tek ran across the balcony and activated his jetpack, only for Robin to fire a birdarang outwards that embedded itself into the jetpack, sending Saico-Tek plummeting back onto the building and Robin then delivered a wicked piledriver to his chest.
"I want answers. Real ones."
Saico-Tek grunted and wrapped his legs around Robin's neck and slammed him back into the ground, getting up before he and Robin got back into a fist fight with the Boy Wonder delivering many powerful kicks and punches to the cyborg ninja's chest and face. He leaped up as Robin grabbed his leg, only for him to twirl around and deliver a wicked bicycle kick to Robin's head, disconnecting and leaving a splatter of magenta ink on Robin's face, much to his shock.
After disconnecting, Saico-Tek did a few flips before he vanished behind a billboard's metal frame. Robin wasn't deterred, however, as he ran across the billboard's sign before countering Saico-Tek with a tackle as they landed on the adjacent rooftop as Robin also slapped some handcuffs on him, restraining his arms behind his back.
Shockingly, however, Saico-Tek simply lifted his arms back over his torso and slipped out of the handcuffs.
"What are you?" Robin asked in awe.
Robin then ran forwards as Saico-Tek unsheathed two sais from the same magenta balls from his pack. Robin leaped forwards with a shout in an attempt to kick Saico-Tek down with a kick, only for the cyborg ninja to leap above him and slash the R symbol off his suit with a well-placed strike. Robin recovered swiftly and unsheathed his birdarangs to counter Saiaco-Tek's stabs at him. Both expert martial artists gave several strikes, kicks and slashes at each other, neither holding anything back as Saico-Tek smashed Robin's birdarangs away and gave a wicked kick to Robin's chest before leaping over him and giving out several slashes, causing several rips in Robin's costume and drawing blood.
Saico-Tek then attempted to escape from the scene, but Robin countered with an incendiary disc to the billboard, messing up Saico-Tek's ascent and sending him crashing down back onto the roof. As Saico-Tek attempted to run again, Robin sent out three more discs, which blew up before he shouted out and tackled Saico-Tek into the billboard, which then broke off of its hinges and collapsed into the streets of Tokyo.
As the resulting dust cloud cleared up, Robin laid tons and tons of powerful strikes to Saico-Tek's face beforew laying down a two-handed strike to his chest, which shattered the orb in Saico-Tek's chest.
Robin then stood on his knees, breathing heavily before he looked down to see that Saico-Tek wasn't moving or breathing at all. Robin stood on his feet and looked up to see tons and tons of frightened citizens of Tokyo backing away from him, having seen the whole thing. He looked down to see his gloves and arms were stained magenta.
Then, a spotlight shined on him and he looked up to see the Tokyo Troopers armed and aiming their weapons at him before clearing as Commander Daizo stepped forwards.
"I am sorry, my friend. But you leave me no choice," he said. "I must place you under arrest."
Robin looked down somberly as the Troopers yanked his arms behind his back, cuffed him and walked him off to their tank.
Later, as Robin stood in an interrogation cell at the Tokyo Troopers' headquarters, Daizo stepped forwards to the door with a stern glance before sitting down to read a comic book. Robin only looked down and saw that his arms were stained magenta instead of the usual red you would see with blood.
"They just don't make heroes like they used to," Daizo scoffed. "Wouldn't you agree, my friend?"
"Please, I didn't mean to," Robin tried to explain. "He had a power. He could regenerate. And this? It isn't blood. Saico-Tek wasn't human."
"Neither are most of your friends. Whatever this Saico-Tek was, he was alive. And now..."
"I couldn't have. I would never... This isn't happening. This can't be real! It has to be some kind of sick joke or a setup."
"Oh, really? And who precisely, do you think would wish to frame you?"
"Brushogun," Robin said softly.
"Brushogun does not exist," Daizo stated sternly. "Tokyo does not tolerate vigilantes. And you, my friend, are in very deep trouble."
Daizo finally tossed the comic into the cell before walking away as Robin only sulked down in defeat.
Back at the bookstore, Gwen and Raven scoured the shelves for something to read before Gwen sat down on a chest as she sighed as she poicked up a book with a nod.
"What are you doing?" Raven asked.
"I know I was sent here for a reason," Gwen said. "Something's going on in this city and it's our responsibility to stop it. That's what my family does back home and I think that's why I'm here: to help you guys take down Brushogun."
"I agree," Raven said. "It makes sense that you would tag along with me. I kind of see a little of myself in you."
"We have a lot in common then."
Suddenly, Raven felt a hand on her shoulder and the two new friends turned around and their hands glowed magenta and black, only to look down to see the diminutive store owner in front of them.
"Welcome to my shop, young ladies," he said. "Are you looking for something in particular?"
"Um, yes!" Gwen said as she and Raven hurriedly dropped their powers.
"We're looking for a book about Brushogun. But we can't find anything in fiction or mythology."
"Well, of course not, my dear."
The store owner then walked to a different section of the store before pulling out a red book on Japanese legends.
"Although few people today believe it, Brushogun was no myth."
The store owner simply handed the book to Gwen, who gave a look to Raven as they both nodded.
"Uh, look. Ladies? You're all great and I want your phone numbers," Beast Boy said as he was showered with kisses from the young Japanese girls in the karaoke bar. "But there's this girl I'm looking for and it's getting kind of hard to breathe in here so..."
But Beast Boy was simply pulled back into the rapid kissing from the girls as he tried in vain to escape before he morphed into a goldfish and slipped out of their grasp before he changed back and tried to escape, only for the girls to block his path to the door. He looked behind him to see the same thing and he panicked before morphing into a gorilla to leap out of the wall, running away from the rabid fangirls.
"Raw eggs?" the chef shouted, tossing various food items to Cyborg, who promptly gobbled everything up. "Devilfish? Pickled sea cucumbers? Cow eyes? Old shoe full of wasabi?!"
"What's for dessert?"
The chefs all shouted out in fury, raising their knives before the head chef breathed a gush of fire onto Cyborg, who ran out of the restaurant screaming as the chefs gave chase.
Soon enough, he ran into the gorilla Beast Boy, who changed back as he and his best friend stared each other down.
"Who's chasing you?!" Both asked.
"Girls!"
"Chefs!"
That was when the clamor reached the alleyway and both Beast Boy and Cyborg ran away screaming as the girls and chefs chased after them, none of them noticing two yellow and maegnta figures lurking in the shadows.
Meanwhile, Starfire stood in the shopping district, looking through a store window to see two monkey toys step towards each other before giving each other a smooch, the hearts behind them lighting up with pink lights. Starfire only gave out a disappointed sigh.
"Are you sad about something?" a schoolgirl asked in perfect English as she stepped beside the alien princess.
"No, thank you, please. I am sad about nothing and I do not have the boy troubles."
"...Okay."
"Oh," Starfire said as the schoolgirl walked away before she followed her. "I am not even certain that I have the boy with whom to have the troubles. Since the day I met him I have had... the feelings. I have waited most patiently and have hoped that someday..."
The schoolgirl only smiled and took Starfire's hand, leading her away.
"Perhaps I was foolish to hope. Perhaps we are just heroes and nothing more."
The schoolgirl smiled and Starfire suddenly gained a determined glance.
"But no. We are more. I feel this! And he does also, even if he fears to admit it. And I shall not let him go without a fight!" Starfire said as she and the girl stopped in front of a jumbotron. "Oh, I thank you for this talk. You are most insightful. I must go find-"
She trailed off with a gasp as she and the citizens around her looked up at the jumbotron to see a picture of Robin's incarceration as he stood in front of a board with his prisoner number.
"Robin?"
"...was apprehended at the scene by the Tokyo Troopers," the mayor said to the reporters. "His associates, the Teen Titans, and that new hero they're working with known as Lucky Girl are ordered to turn themselves in or leave Tokyo at once."
"Titans, emergency!" Starfire shouted into her communicator as she took to the skies. "Cyborg, Raven, Beast Boy, Lucky Girl, please!"
"Starfire, what's wrong?" Raven asked as she and Lucky Girl exited the bookstore, not noticing the shadowy figure looming behind them.
"Robin has been... arrested for a terrible crime."
"Girl are you crazy?" Cyborg asked. "Robin would never commit a..."
Cyborg and Beast Boy only glanced at the newspaper in the stand they were hiding from the girls and chefs in to see another photograph of Robin's incarceration.
"Whoa," Beast Boy said. "And he was telling us to keep out of trouble."
"Do we know where he is?" Lucky Girl asked, equally as shocked as Starfire.
"No. I have tried to reach him, but he does not respond," Starfire lamented.
"Alright," Cyborg said. "I'm transferring rendezvous coordinates. Let's regroup and figure this out."
"Hurry, please. We need to help Robin."
"But you shall never get the chance," the mysterious figure said, watching the Titans from his lair as he pressed in a few controls to his console. "Erase them."
Starfire was suddenly blasted with a cyan energy blast and she looked to see a cyan robot boy flying towards her, blasting her with another powerful energy blast.
"Konnichiwa!"
Raven and Lucky Girl flew through the cemetery by the bookstore before arming themselves with their magic as they flew forwards, only too look behind as a black ghost-like creature, known as Scarface, attacked them, rising up from the tombstones.
"Starfire, Raven, Lucky Girl!" Cyborg asked, scanning for his female teammates, when he was suddenly hoisted upwards into the air.
It was a yellow octopus-like robot with blades and claws at the end of its tentacles called Timoko. And it opened its mouth wide before it swallowed Cyborg whole. Fortunately, the cybernetic hero pried the yellow robot's mouth open and crawled outwards.
"Dude!" Beast Boy shouted as he ran off to help. But then, he spotted the attractive Japanese girl he was chasing earlier and he stopped in his tracks.
"Hot girl! Don't go anywhere. I just gotta help my friend and then I'll be back to take you on the best date of your life!"
Suddenly, the girl spun around rapidly before she became a magenta cat girl named Nya-Nya as she laid a powerful roundhouse kick to Beast Boy's face and sending him crashing into a vending machine, mewling seductively.
"On second thought, uh, maybe we should just be friends."
Nya-Nya only licked her lips before she shouted out and tackled Beast Boy.
As Robin sat in the holding cell of a prison transport truck as it moved through Tokyo, he could only sulk in defeat.
Suddenly, a note with pink writing slipped through the grate of the door. Robin looked down at the note to see that it read...
"Brushogun."
The letters from the note suddenly rose into the air and spiraled around before morphing into a familiar magenta shuriken that started beeping down. Robin ducked for cover as the blade detonated and sent the truck crashing into the streets. Robin looked to see the struggling driver before he took him out of the wreckage and laid his cape over his chest, hopefully to give him some comfort as the truck blew up into smithereens behind him.
"Brushogun is real," Robin confirmed. "And I have to find him."
After Robin was long gone, the Tokyo Troopers looked at the scene of the getaway and Daizo only grumbled as the troopers put out the fire. The driver of the truck recovered and Daizo picked up his discarded cape.
"Troopers!" he shouted. "There is a criminal on the loose in our city! Bring him in or bring him down."
With that, the troopers saluted before splitting up as Daizo walked into the camera.
Cyborg shouted out as he pried Timoko's jaws apart with a shout of effort and kicked him back into the wall, forming two blue swords on his arms that he used to slash at the yellow robot, countering his strikes and leaping back as he formed his sonic cannon.
"Think you can make a meal out of me?! You don't have the guts!" he shouted, only for Timoko to literally bite his sonic cannon off of his arm. "Or maybe you do have the guts."
Timoko then kicked him downwards, trapping Cyborg with a fork grown from one of his tentacle arms and slashed at him with his two knife arms, sending Cyborg's parts scattering in the air.
"Yo, B! I could use a hand here!"
Timoko lifted the scattered Cyborg parts and then swallowed them whole, only for Cyborg to reassemble himself and pry himself out of the sushi robot's mouth again.
"Yo, B!"
However, Beast Boy, who had changed into a bear, was currently brawling with Nya-Nya. He morphed into his T-Rex form and charged at her, only for the nimble pink cat girl to leap up and drop kick his skull into the ground, sending him crashing down, forming a crater and causing him to morph back to human form. Shouting out in rage, Beast Boy morphed into a rhinoceros and charged again, only for Nya-Nya to bound over him with no effort at all and a giggle escaping from her lips. Beast Boy shouted out and morphed into a pterodactyl and swooped dwon, only for her to wrap her legs around his neck as they both flew into the air.
"Kawaii dobutsu o shitsukeru no daisuki na no! Ureshii wa, Anata o ijimeru no ga tanoshimi!" ["I love training cute animals! I'll be happy to torment you!"] she taunted the green changeling.
She kicked out with her thighs and gave a toss of her legs to send Beast Boy crashing into a neon sign and then he tumbled back to Earth.
"Come on. How can I think of a good comeback when I don't even know what you're saying?"
Nya-Nya only slowly crawled down the building and planted a kiss on Beast Boy's cheeks, sending him blushing up a storm.
"Me o tojite, itai wa yo. ["Close your eyes, (giggles) this will hurt."} she giggled before she gave another flip and gave out a massive slash to the green changeling.
"Azarath Metrion Zinthos!" Raven shouted, blasting out several bullets of dark magic as Lucky Girl also blasted out her mana beams as Scarface flew at them as they both flew through the air, only for the ghost-like creature to phase through the attacks as Lucky Girl shouted out and sent a large mana hand out that gripped Scarface and Raven shouted out as she backed it up.
Suddenly, Scarface shot out with a massive claw strike to both of them and they ducked, but Raven's cloak was left with several black streaks.
"Don't let him take the book!" Lucky Girl shouted.
Raven nodded as Lucky Girl formed her mana platforms and took off into a run as both Raven and Scarface phased through several tombstones before Scarface suddenly shot up into the air and wrapped Lucky Girl around in his long body before he brought her down, slamming her into the ground as Raven flew down to comfort her with a grin as she got up.
"You alright?"
"I'm good," Lucky Girl said as Raven handed her the book and she grasped it close to her chest as Scarface suddenly shot up and sent several demonic faces swarming around the mage duo as they both armed their magic and blasted out magenta and black fire blasts from their hands to counter the attack.
Green and cyan blasts flew through the sky as Starfire and Mecha-Boi flew through the skies above Tokyo, each giving out several energy blasts, neither showing any mercy. In fact, it was turning into an outright dogfight as they blasted out every star bolt and energy blast they had in them before Starfire gave a barrel roll and got behind Mecha-Boi and blasted out with green energy beams from her eyes. This barely phased the robot boy as he flew behind her and both shot off with supersonic speed through the sky, shattering several windows of the building they flew past.
"Go away now, please!" the alien princess begged in vain, dodging every blast. "You are a mean little boy and I have no time for your games! I must find..."
Starfire gasped as she spotted Mecha-Boi flying in front of her with a wave.
"Sayonara!"
Mecha-Boi blasted out a large rocket from his mouth that blasted into Starfire, resulting in a huge explosion that engulfed her in a cloud of smoke.
With all the authorities after him and his team, Robin hid in a dark alleyway away from the cops and looked at a stray newspaper clip of his incarceration and he gave a nod.
"If everyone's looking for Robin, then I can't be Robin anymore."
Indeed, he snapped the handcuffs off his wrists, just as a mugger moved in and pulled out a gun to the Boy Wonder.
"You give me your money," he ordered.
Robin smirked and knocked the criminal out before undressing him and dressing him up in his damaged costume before putting on his outfit, including the dark sunglasses to hide his eyes.
"Okay, Dick," he said to himself. "Let's get some answers."
Later, as Dick Grayson wandered through Tokyo, taking a smile as the criminals took notice of him as he wandered into a bar, instantly catching the attention of every able-bodied patron as he wandered up to the bar as by far, the largest criminal in the place smirked and stood up to him, speaking in Japanese and laying a hand on his shoulder.
Dick, however, gave a massive judo flip to him all the way to the other side of the room, much to the shock of every lowlife customer, who charged at him for attention, only for him to instantly beat all of them into a massive heap as they all slumped against the floor. Dick then turned to the bartender with a long gaze.
"Speak English?"
"Yes."
"Good. This is the worst dive in the worst part of town," Dick said. "So I'm guessing you know a little something about Tokyo's criminals. I'm looking for Brushogun."
"Ha! He's just a myth."
Dick only grabbed the bartender and growled savagely.
"The Troopers don't like us talking about him, alright?! They say it inspires more criminals!"
"Then inspire me."
"Brushogun was real and very dangerous. With strange powers."
"'Was?' Where is he now?"
"Nobody knows. One day he just disappeared without a trace. That's when all the new criminals started showing up in Tokyo."
Suddenly, lights started shining through the dive's windows and sirens blared outwards.
"Tokyo Troopers. And I doubt they're here for me."
Dick only tossed the bartender into the wall and knocked him out before he walked off, grabbing a helmet.
Outside, the Troopers, including Daizo, who was above the scene in a helicopter, moved in, training their guns on the entrance... before the garage door suddenly burst as Dick drove off into the night on a stolen motorcycle, easily avoiding the fire from the Troopers before they gave chase in several bikes and cars. This chase continued onto the highway where Dick found himself cornered by the two cars and then growled as he hit the brakes, causing one Trooper to blast the other car, causing it to crash into his car.
Unfortunately, Dick stopped in his tracks as he approached a blockade of Troopers. In fact, another blockade came in from the other side in addition to helicopters flying overhead and every Trooper aimed their blasters out at the Boy Wonder.
"Give up, my friend!" Daizo ordered with a smirk. "You cannot win!"
Dick simply got off of the motorcycle and tossed his helmet to the ground, apparently resigning as he put his hands into the air... before he was caught by Lucky Girl and Starfire as they flew into the scene and each took his arms, flying away with their leader in tow as they vanished with a twinkle of light.
Daizo only threw his megaphone to the ground in frustration, walking off.
Taking cover in a remote temple, Starfire smiled warmly on Dick as they stood in the temple as Robin looked at Gwen as she smiled and leaned against the wall.
"You saved me," he said. "You hardly know me and you saved me?"
"Of course I did," Gwen said. "I'm a Tennyson. That's what we do. That and we're kind of in the same boat at the moment."
"How did you find me?"
"I found your birdarang at the crime scene and tracked you down through your mana," Gwen said. "That's pretty easy for me."
"Indeed. You are not the only one who has been pursued," Starfire confirmed, pushing in a replacement Robin costume. "We each were attacked and barely escaped with our lives. But we believe this place will be safe... for the moment."
"Thank you, Starfire."
"I shall give you time to-"
"Starfire?"
Dick grabbed her arm and she turned to him with a smile as Gwen pressed her hands together slowly with an approving nod. But just as the duo were about to lip lock...
"What's up!" Beast Boy shouted as he, Raven and Cyborg burst into the room, instantly blocking the shocked Dick and Starfire as their jaws dropped. Gwen, on the other, hand, facepalmed with a wicked smack as she groaned in annoyance at what happened.
"Man, are you ever glad to see us," Cyborg said.
"I am?"
"You're gonna be once we tell you the news," Beast Boy smiled.
"After we all escaped, we went back to the crime scene and got a sample of that ooze from Saico-Tek. I ran a full molecular analysis and after a few thousand comparisons, I finally got a match. That wasn't blood on your uniform. It was ink."
"Ink?" Dick and Gwen asked.
"Yeah. Just like the stains on my armor, the streaks on Raven's cloak and the lipstick from that girl who kicked BB's butt."
"She was a cat girl!"
"So the criminals are all connected," Dick said
."Because they were all created by the same person," Raven said as she and Gwen stood by the book with a nod. "Brushogun, Tokyo's first supervillain. Once, he was just an ordinary artist who dreamed of bringing his creations to life. He tried to make that dream come true by using Japanese dark magic in order to bring the love of his life back to life through a drawing. His spell worked... but at a terrible price. The dark magic forever stained him. His skin became paper. Ink flowed through his veins. He was transformed into... Brushogun."
"Drawings," Dick said. "That's what we've been fighting."
"That's why I couldn't sense any of them," Gwen realized. "They weren't real living beings, which means they had no mana for me to sense them with."
"Then I didn't actually kill anyone. I couldn't have killed Saico-Tek because Saico-Tek wasn't real."
"They were ink," Beast Boy said.
"All of them," Starfire said.
"Then Brushogun created him to frame me," Dick said before turning to the costume. He shucked the jacket and sunglasses off and instantly donned his costume again, pressing his mask to his face. Gwen smiled proudly as she tied her Lucky Girl mask around her face.
"Alright, Titans... all of us" Robin said, looking to the smiling Lucky Girl as the six heroes assembled. "Here's our mission: we're fugitives from the law this time. We've got a criminal on the loose who can create other criminals. The only way we can clear our names is to hunt him down and bring him to justice."
"Yeah, great plan. There's just one teensy problem..." Beast Boy said. "EVERYBODY IN TOKYO IS OUT TO GET US!"
Indeed, the walls all shook sharply and the doors to the temple all opened to reveal Brushogun's creations, the Tokyo Troopers, the fangirls from the karaoke bar and the chefs from the restaurant all surrounded the Titans as they all nodded.
"Titans, go!" Lucky Girl shouted, earning a glare from Robin as she chuckled. "Sorry, I couldn't resist."
Robin only sighed as he tossed an explosive disc at the roof and the Titans all leaped through the resulting hole. And thus began a chase throughout all of Tokyo that lasted a few days, the Titans ducking and dodging at every turn, trying to stay hidden for as long as the Titans did their best to duck for cover, remaining hidden from the law and anyone looking for their heads.
Eventually, the team grouped in an alleyway, ducking from the spotlights shining through the streets as Beast Boy tried to sniff out a trail while in the form of a bloodhound.
"Can't you sniff any faster, man?" Cyborg asked. "It's only a matter of time before someone jumps us again."
"Actually, Beast Boy, you can stop," Lucky Girl said as she and Robin looked upwards and nodded to each other.
"We know where the trail leads now."
Beast Boy morphed back and everyone looked skywards to see the iconic Wakamono Shukkan looming over them and the team looked stunned.
"Brushogun's hideout is the comic book factory?" Cyborg asked.
"I told you we should've taken the tour," Beast Boy said, earning a slap upside the head from Raven as the team moved to the factory and Lucky Girl sent a powerful mana blast from her hands that blew the doors inwards and the team carefully moved in, powers and weapons at the ready.
"No guards," Cyborg noticed.
That was when the team heard a faint groaning noise Robin looked downards to see a flight of stairs leading down to a set of double doors.
"This way," Robin whispered as the team then ran/flew down to the doors and burst into the room with a shout.
"Freeze!"
But, once again, there was no one in the room and the team only looked around with confused looks as Lucky Girl generated a ball of mana from her hand and sent it outwards to illuminate the room and Cyborg shined his flashlight from his shoulder. The team moved forwards and looked to see a giant printing press in the center of the room and Lucky Girl lit up a nearby chair that had a ton of monitors around it, but, surprisingly, it had no occupant.
"Brushogun," Lucky Girl said. "He's not here."
That was when an echoing groan rang out in the room and the printing press opened it's hatch to reveal a deathly pale and thin Brushogun inside, a ton of pipes stabbed into his back with ink flowing out of them as the Titans all looked in awe.
"I... am."
"Brushogun?" Robin asked.
"So glad to finally meet you," Tokyo's first criminal said as he looked downwards at Lucky Girl. "All of you."
"You're not the one behind all this after all, are you?" Lucky Girl asked. "You're just..."
"His slave," Brushogun confirmed. "He trapped me in this thing. This cursed printing press that uses my powers against my will. The criminals I create serve him now."
"But you sent the card, didn't you?" Robin asked. "You set me free. And you sent Saico-Tek to Titans Tower because-"
"It was the only way I could call for help. I have heard tale of your heroics all throughout the globe. How you destroyed the Brotherhood of Evil. I knew that if one of my creations attacked your home..."
"It would give us a reason to come to Tokyo," Lucky Girl said. "A reason to find you."
"So you weren't the one who framed Robin," Cyborg realized.
"Saico-Tek was printed twice. I sent the first to you as a messenger. He sent the second to Robin as a trap."
"He who?" Beast Boy asked.
"If you're just the brush, who tells you what to paint?" Raven asked.
"That would be... me," the mysterious figure from earlier said as all eyes turned to the command chair, which now had someone in it. "I must say you Titans have proven formidable adversaries. Once you are destroyed, perhaps I shall make copies of you to serve me."
"Show your face, coward!" Starfire demanded. "Who are you?!"
Robin and Lucky Girl only rose an eyebrow and turned to each other with a knowing nod.
"There's only one person who stands to gain from creating criminals: the hero who catches them," Robin realized. "Isn't that right... Commander?"
"Very good, my friend," the one and only Commander Uehara Daizo said, swiveling in his chair and placing his fedora on his head. "But you haven't caught me. I've caught you."
Daizo snapped his fingers and the doors to the room on all sides opened up and the Tokyo Troopers all moved in and surrounded the team, training their blasters on them as they all readied their weapons and powers, standing in a circle.
"So wait," Beast Boy said. "If the good guy was really a bad guy, that means... oh, sweet! We're the good guys again!"
"You got that right, Beast Boy," Lucky Girl said. "You're a fraud, Daizo! A fake! Brushogun was the only real criminal you ever caught, wasn't he?"
"One was enough," Daizo stated.
"You used his powers to lie, to make yourself look like a hero," Robin realized. "And when I started looking for the truth, you made me look like a murderer and us all look like criminals!"
"That's a nice little story, young man," Daizo said. "But I doubt anyone will believe it once you're all behind bars. Troopers, charge!"
"Titans, GO!"
The Titans all split up and engaged various Tokyo Troopers. Robin leaped forwards with a front flip, pulling one Trooper to the ground and he knocked another's blaster out of his hands and tossed him into a wall.
Cyborg shouted out and threw out a strong punch to another Trooper, knocking him out as two more ran forwards and opened fire on him, but they were quickly blocked by a mana shield from Lucky Girl as she shot out a blast of pink lightning from her fingers that shocked them where they stood as Cyborg blasted them back with his sonic cannon.
Raven tossed three Troopers into the wall with her telekinesis before sending out a mana shield to block everything the Troopers shot at her and she sent out a powerful wave of dark magic that knocked the Troopers off their feet.
Beast Boy dropped in in the form of an elephant, knocking them out before he morphed into a snake to swiftly avoid teh laser blasts from another Trooper before he leaped up, morphed into a grizzly bear and slammed him to the ground as Starfire flew in and gave powerful punches to the other Troopers.
Robin knocked a Trooper's blaster from his hands before he leaped up and gave out a powerful roundhouse kick to the Trooper's head, knocking his helmet off. However, when he looked back up, he saw that he had actually knocked off a section of the Trooper's entire head and the Trooper then dissolved into a puddle of solid...
"Ink," Robin realized. "Titans, the Troopers! They aren't real either!"
"Which means we don't have to hold back!" Cyborg realized before sending out a flurry of missiles from his cybernetic parts that sent all the Troopers flying as Lucky Girl shouted out and blasted them with her magenta fire blasts that instantly dissolved all her Troopers into ink.
"It also means there's plenty more where those came from," Daizo said as he pressed the controls on the Printing Press.
Brushogun shouted out in agony as the machine flared to life and ink spilled from hjis fingers into the printer's paper, which spawned several more of the criminals that the Titans had faced throughout Tokyo.
Robin and Lucky Girl shouted out as they leaped towards Daizo, only for two Saico-Teks to block his path and the Titans soon found themselves surrounded as they all dodged and countered every attack that flew their way.
Lucky Girl flew in and tackled a Mecha-Boi that flew towards her before blasting it away with her mana vision and Robin gave a spinning kick outwards that knocked it out before he landed at a Timoko that swiped its tentacles outwards and Robin dodged it.
Two Nya-Nyas growled as they ran in and tackled Beast Boy to the ground with a drop kick before the green changeling backflipped adn tackled the duo by morphing into a rhino, but the feline ink beings smiled slyly and licked their lips at Beast Boy.
Raven flew back as a Scarface flew at her before she made a magic shield and the Scarface was obliterated as soon as he went splat against it. However, a Mecha-Boi raised its arms and fired several rockets at the dark sorceress and she flew out of the way as she and Lucky Girl blasted it back with their magic blasts, sending it dissolving into ink.
A Saico-Tek sent out several shuriken to Starfire, who blasted them into smithereens before she was drop-kicked to the ground by another Saico-Tek before she turned him around and obliterated the first one with her laser vision.
Cyborg braced himself on the ground and grabbed a Timoko's tentacle with a shout of effort before he used his powerful strength to knock it into several Tokyo Troopers and right into the path of Robin, who leaped out of the way as the Timoko landed against a Mecha-Boi, sending both of them rolling away.
However, Robin landed on a platform in the path of another Timoko, who brought down a massive cleaver, which Robin avoided, running up his tentacle and stabbing his staff into the Timoko's head, sending it dissolving into ink.
Robin then looked upwards to see Daizo making a run for it on the walkways above before he quickly leaped up into his path.
"Running away?" he asked as Lucky Girl approached on her mana platforms with a disappointed shake in her head.
"I guess they don't make heroes like they used to," she said.
Daizo pulled out his gun and opened fire on the duo, but Lucky Girl blocked all the shots with her mana shield and Robin tossed his staff forwards, which knocked Daizo's gun away before the Boy Wonder gave a powerful kick to his chest.
"Give it up, my friends," Daizo chuckled. "You cannot win.
"I'd say we just did," Robin said as Lucky Girl's eyes glowed magenta and her human form was just dying to dissolve into her Anodite form.
"You can knock me down all you like. Destroy me if you wish. It will not change a thing. When this is over, no matter what happens, everyone out there will still think you're criminals and the people of Tokyo will still call me a hero!"
"I know what it means to be a hero, Commander," Robin said as he and Lucky Girl stepped forwards. "And trust me, you're no hero."
"It's people like you that give what I've dedicated my life to a bad name," Lucky Girl agreed.
Cornered, Daizo looked down into printing press below him before he leaped down into it.
"NO!"
As Daizo disappeared into the press, Brushogun screamed out in pain, ink spilling from his mouth as the tank began sparking wildly and the Titans all ran for cover as the tubes of ink burst up from the ground and stabbed into the factory's walls.
"I got a bad feeling about this," Cyborg said.
The doors of the comic book factory burst open and the Teen Titans all screamed out as the six heroes were all knocked out of the front doors and sent into a heap on the ground.
Explosions rang out throughout the factory as two giant hands made of ink burst forth and slammed into the ground in front of the team.
"THE POWER IS MINE!" Daizo shouted out in fury as he revealed himself to have transformed into a giant monster made of ink with the tubes still sticking out of his back as he stood to full height, towering over the buildings of Tokyo.
"That's a lot of ink," Beast Boy gulped.
"It's gonna leave one hell of a stain when this is all over," Cyborg agreed.
"Daizo may have Brushogun's magic, but I'm not sure how long he'll be able to control it," Raven said.
The team looked up to see Brushogun himself sticking out of the ink monster's chest.
The giant ink monster that Daizo had become raised his hands and ink dripped out of it which resolved into several of Brushogun's creations, including the kaiju from earlier, in several shades of cyan, magenta, yellow and black.
"What must we do?" Starfire asked as the six heroes stood back to back.
"Erase him," Robin snarled as Lucky Girl nodded.
"Time to go full power," she said, her eyes glowing a brilliant magenta.
Daizo shouted out, slamming the ground with his arm as the Titans all dispersed and Lucky Girl shouted out as her human form dissolved and she morphed into her Anodite form, flying through the air and raining down several powerful mana beams that instantly destroyed any ink creations that got near her.
All of the Titans rained down their best attacks and powers, holding nothing back as all the creatures ran out.
Starfire flew by Daizo, who shout out his hand and the pipes shot out of his fingers, wrapping around Starfire, who screamed out in terror as she was slammed down into teh ground like a ragdoll.
"Starfire!" Robin shouted.
The tentacle let go of Starfire before it attempted to ram her right through the center, only to be stopped by Raven and Lucky Girl, who put up their shields with a shout of effort before they shouted out and sent several mana blades from their hands that sliced the tentacle to ribbons.
The Titans continued their assault on Daizo's minions, holding absolutely nothing back as Robin and Lucky Girl looked up at the giant monstrosity above them before Lucky Girl blasted through the head of a kaiju with a powerful mana blade that sliced it before she grabbed Robin and flew him up to a tentacle, where both of them slammed and blasted through all of the ink creations that got near them as they made their way to Brushogun, who was sinking into the monster's chest.
"How do we stop him?" Lucky Girl asked. "How do we break the spell?"
"Without me, he is nothing," Brushogun answered. "You must remove me from this machine."
Lucky Girl blasted her mana lasers at the chest, clearing a path for Robin as he shot his arms into the monster's chest and braced himself, pulling as hard as he could before the monster's metal tentacles flew out and wrapped around his limbs, pulling him in deeper. The Anodite gasped as Robin completely vanished into the mass of ink.
Daizo only laughed in triumph, wrapping his tentacles around Lucky Girl, Starfire and Raven, restraining them in midair as he brought his massive hands down onto Cyborg and Beast Boy, knocking them back into the walls. Suddenly, he gained a shocked look as a green glove slowly burst from his chest as Robin struggled before finally bursting free with Brushogun in his arms, sending them both falling down as Robin shot his grappling hook out to stab into Daizo's chest and they both landed safely on the ground.
"You, saved me..." Brushogun smiled. "I am eternally grateful."
With that, Brushogun closed his eyes and then, he faded away into nothing.
Everyone looked out as giant globs of ink started raining down on them as Daizo screamed out in agony and all of the ink creations dissolved into puddles of black ink now that they didn't have a source of power to draw from.
"Brushogun's spell, it's breaking!" Raven shouted.
Daizo screamed out before his form began to massively expand and it finally exploded, sending out a massive flood of ink that flooded the factory's entrance.
The Titans all panted heavily, recovering from the attack as Lucky Girl turned back to her human form with a smile.
"We did it," Lucky Girl smiled as she ran up and gave Raven a big hug, the goth sorceress only smiling widely as she hugged her new friend back.
"Starfire!" Robin said as he noticed Starfire's arm stick out from the mass of ink and he ran up and picked her up, brushing the ink from her face as she came to with a smile. "Are you okay?"
"I am now."
Soon, storm clouds built up in the sky. Lightning flashed, thunder crashed and the pouring rain came tumbling down in sheets, washing away all the ink, sending it pouring into the sewers as an unconscious Daizo groaned out in defeat.
"I think I was wrong before," Robin told Starfire.
"You do?"
"Maybe... a hero isn't all I am. Maybe I could be- maybe we could be..."
"Robin?" Starfire asked.
"Starfire?"
"Stop talking."
Lucky Girl couldn't wipe the proud smile off of her face as the Boy Wonder and the Alien Princess finally leaned in and shared a deep passionate kiss as their wet hair dirfted down in front of their faces.
"Well, it's about time," Cyborg smiled proudly as the other four heroes all stood by, arms folded.
The next morning, after Daizo was arrested, the six heroes all stood before the people of Tokyo and they all screamed out in praise for their new heroes as they all smiled proudly, confetti raining down on them.
"So I guess you're not a wanted man anymore," Cyborg said to Robin.
"Oh, I wouldn't say that," Robin said as he looked down at his hand that was clutched in Starfire's.
Beast Boy shouted out and played it up for the crowd as countless teenage girls all ran forwards, laughing as Beast Boy only nodded.
"One at a time, ladies. There's enough of B to go around," he said.
Cyborg struggled as he burst from the crowd of girls and found himself at the feet of the owner of the restaurant from earlier, who shot his hand out to reveal a massive tower of food waiting for him.
"BOO-YA!"
"All you can eat!"
"Well, alright!" Cyborg shouted out as he leaped upwards and dove right into the tower of food, leaving no morsel unconsumed.
"Did you also make the new friends while exploring Tokyo?" Starfire asked as Raven turned to Lucky Girl and smiled warmly as Lucky Girl gave her a jab to the arm.
"Besides Gwen, not really," Raven said. "But I somehow wound up becoming a mascot for gum."
The team looked to see an ad for Super Twinkle Donkey Gum playing with Raven presenting the ad as she blew a bubble before popping it.
That was when the Titans all bowed to the mayor, who then went to them one by one, hanging honorary medals around their necks.
"For uncovering the truth, for pursuing justice and for protecting our fair city from a treacherous evil, I present these medals to Tokyo's newest heroes: the Teen Titans!"
The crowd all screamed out as the Titans all stood, basking in their newfound glory as Robin turned to Gwen, who nodded with a smile.
"I have something for you as well, Gwen. Consider yourself an honorary Teen Titan," Robin said as he handed a Titans' communicator to Gwen and she beamed brightly as she attached the communicator to her belt beside the cat-shaped buckle.
"Thank you. It's been great workign with you all," Gwen said.
That was when another swirling portal opened up and Scarlett stepped out, with Ben and Jen by her sides and the Map of Infinity in her hand smirking wildly as Gwen gasped.
"Guys! You came!" she shouted, giving a hug to her cousins.
"Of course we did. The Protectors found you a little bit ago, but we needed to wait until the battle was over," Jen said. "She can't interfere with any of our conflicts in other universes unless she has permission from her superiors and..."
"They wanted to see how I would do on my own?"
"Exactly. And you passed with flying colors."
"Whoa," Raven said as she stepped up to her. "You're the Scarlet Warrior."
"I am the Scarlet Warrior," the queen confirmed.
"The Protectors, right?"
"Indeed, Raven," Scarlett said. "And I would like to say that my superiors are once again considering asking you to join us."
"What do you think, Rave?" Cyborg asked. "You've proven yourself worthy, but you'd be joining another team."
"Oh, we're not asking you to leave your friends or your current team at all. We're just giving you an opportunity to join something bigger. Your teammates won't be considered Protectors, but you'll still be able to work with them on your missions for us."
"If they approach me, then tell them I accept," Raven said with a smile.
"I'll let them know," Scarlett said. "Anyways, it's time to take Gwen home."
"Uncatalogued DNA detected," Omni and Trixie suddenly sounded out as they shot out two yellow beams that scanned Starfire up and down before they stopped. "DNA sample acquired. Tamaranean form now avaiable for transformation."
"You gotta tell me how she does it," Jen smiled as Gwen nodded and turned to her new team.
"I gotta go," she said. "We're kind of needed at my home now."
"Will we ever see you again?" Beast Boy asked.
"Of course," Gwen said. "I have the communicator now and the Protectors have the Map of Infinity. They can send me here whenever you need me."
"That is a huge benefit," Starfire said as she gave Gwen a hug. "We look forward to when we will see you again, Friend Gwen."
"I look forward to it too," Gwen said as she turned around and left into the portal with the twins and Scarlett and it closed behind her.
"If she's this awesome, imagine how great the rest of her family is," Cyborg said.
"I heard that," Robin said. "Who knows. Maybe one day, we'll have to visit her dimension."
"So, I guess we have to go back home now too, huh?" Beast Boy asked Robin as the other Titans looked to their leader hopefully.
"You know, Beast Boy, you were right. Some even heroesneed a vacation."
"Okay, next time, we're going to Mexico," Beast Boy said, earning a dope slap from Raven with a shout.
