"Cross this one off the bucket list," Barry chuckled as he, Victor and Becky dug up the casket from Clark Kent's grave. "Exhume Superman from the grave. Check."
"You know we could do this in a nanosecond with this guy, right?" Becky asked, raising an eyebrow.
"We could," Vic said as Barry sighed and looked at the gravestone.
"He was my hero."
"My heroes are my cousins," Becky said. "It's an incredible honor to be part of the Omni-Team, and it's just as big an honor to be part of this team."
"An Amazon working with an Atlantean," Diana said to Arthur as she sat in the trunk of the van.
"Half-Atlantean."
"How many thousands of years since our people spoke?"
"I don't know. I'm not exactly close to mine," Arthur said. "I hate Atlanteans just as much as you Amazons do."
"Hate is useless."
"Yep," Arthur said, holding out a whiskey flask to Diana.
"No, thank you."
"You know, my father told me there's a saying in Atlantis. None are taken back from the darkness. Not without..."
"Not without giving one up in return," Diana echoed. "We say the same thing."
"How about that."
"Wonder Woman," Barry chuckled as the trio continued digging the grave up. "What do you think, man? You think she'd ever go for a younger guy?"
"She's five thousand years old, Barry," Vic sighed. "Every guy's a younger guy."
Becky only chuckled and rolled her eyes as she went back to digging.
"Jesus!" Alfred shouted out as the engine sparked out and let out a plume of smoke and caught on fire, prompting Alfred to grab the fire extinguisher to put it out. "Oh, bloody..."
"Any luck?" Bruce asked from below as he worked on the Batmobile.
"If by 'luck', you mean 'chance in hell we'll get it flying today,' then no. No luck," Alfred groaned.
"It's okay. It doesn't matter anyway. We're just gonna take the body to the Kryptonian ship. It's basically an organic computer. It can talk directly to the Mother Box."
"What? The way it talked to Lex Luthor?"
"Something like that."
"Huh? What could possibly go wrong? Master Wayne..." Alfred said, taking the lift down before walking up to the head of Wayne Enterprises. "...you did it! You put the team together to fight this war. You've fulfilled your promise. But to try to do that... I mean... Your guilt's overcome your reason. Not all the king's horses nor all the king's men..."
"Alfred, for once, I'm operating strictly on faith, not on reason."
"But if you start playing with this little box of tricks, I mean, it could be the end of everything. How do you know your team's strong enough? If you can't bring down the charging bull, then don't wave the red cape at it."
"You do when it's this red cape. This red cape charges back."
The team loaded the casket containing Clark's body into the van as they nodded to each other as they shut the doors and filed into their seats.
"You were right, Dr. Stone," a paramedic named Thomas said to Silas with some test results inside a medical tent. "The tests came back negative. Everyone's clear, including you. Just to be on the safe side, we swept the entire facility.
"Thank you, Thomas. That means I'm free to go?"
"Absolutely."
Silas then took his coat and left the medical tent.
"Arthur, yes, your opinion" Barry said to Arthur while dressed in army green by a disguised military truck while putting his military cap into the right position. "Less preposterous. Option A?"
"Definitely not A."
"Right, or B?" the speedster asked while putting on a black beret.
"Let me see A again?"
Diana, Vic and Becky then lowered themselves down on the lift and slid Clark's casket into the truck's back.
"Right," Diana said. "We should get dressed."
"I'm always dressed," Vic said, taking off his hoodie as Becky pressed her watch and turned into Huntress and looked up to see Batman perched on a building adjacent to the site of the military installation surrounding the Kryptonian ship as the truck moved in as Barry turned to the soldiers guarding the entrance.
"I.D.?" a soldier asked.
"I.D." Barry gestured as he handed the soldier a fake I.D. "Aye aye."
"Come on, Vic," Huntress said, grasping Cyborg's knee as he focused on the computer as the soldier scanned Barry's fake I.D. before it finally confirmed his false status as a licensed soldier.
"Okay."
"Okay? Oh, gee, okay," Barry said, taking the I.D. back as he drove the truck into the installation.
"Oh, Doc," Ryan said as Silas walked up to him, turning away from the computer. "They let you out of quarantine."
"Yeah, I finally got them to listen to reason. Now, let's look and see what process we've made with the electron laser."
"We've made some real progress. Let me show you."
Aquaman loaded the casket onto the stretcher as Wonder Woman and Huntress looked on for any stragglers with a nod as Batman dropped in front of the team.
"Victor, clear this place out," Batman ordered.
"Done."
Cyborg then focused and hacked the security system, setting off an alarm.
"Code red! Contamination breach! All personnel evacuate immediately."
"Bio red five!" a surprised Ryan said, looking at the sensors. "The sensor's picking up a microbe of alien origin."
"A microbe of alien origin?" Silas asked. "That doesn't make any sense. It's gotta be a false alarm."
"Alright, people. Shut it down! Let's go!"
"Ryan, we just had it swept!"
"We have to go, Doc."
"Think about it! It's gotta be a false alarm!"
"Let's go, Doc."
"Think about it!"
And with that, all the personnel left the installation while Silas went to his computer to try to shut off the contamination breach alarm.
As soon as everyone was out of sight, the Justice League finally arrived inside as they carried the casket behind them while Vic carried the Mother Box.
But before they got too far, Silas managed to shut off the alarm and secure the area.
"Yes! Gotcha!" he exclaimed as he took a walkie talkie. "Post Commander, this is Dr. Silas Stone. Do you read?"
"Go ahead, Dr. Stone."
"This is a false alarm. Someone has hacked into the system. We must alert..."
He was interrupted as the doors opened in front of him as Silas found himself face to face with our faithful heroes with his own son in front of them as they carried the Mother Box and dragged the casket behind them.
"Victor."
"Sorry, Dr. Stone," Huntress said, looking to him. "This is something we have to do to stop Steppenwolf."
"We don't have a choice but to do this, Dad," Cyborg confirmed.
"Dr. Stone, are you there? I don't copy."
"...I was mistaken. The alarm's legit. Everybody out. And nobody, I repeat, nobody comes back inside without my say-so."
"Roger that, sir."
"Thank you," Huntress said as she and Victor nodded, a gesture which Silas returned as they continued moving into the Kryptonian ship as Silas ran as fast as he could out of the installation.
"Everybody got out okay?" Silas asked Ryan as he joined the entire personnel outside of the military installation. "Everybody?"
"Yes."
Silas then turned as everyone looked at the installation hopefully.
The doors to the destroyed Kryptonian ship opened and the Justice League looked among themselves as they looked at their surroundings at the alien design of the ship's interior.
Flash looked at a chamber containing a deformed Kryptonian corpse and shuddered in disgust as the team proceeded.
"This way," Cyborg said as the team moved down the corridors and on the walls around them, several suits resembling Superman's appeared on their pedestals.
"It knows he's here," Flash said. "Ooh, that's intense."
"This is amazing," Cyborg said in awe.
"This is nuts," Huntress said with eyes wide as dinner plates.
"Oh, what, now it's nuts?" Flash said as Aquaman turned to him and Cyborg.
"You two lunatics better know what you're doing."
The team looked down to the ship's Kyrptonian genesis chamber.
"If things go south, you might want to hold onto this, kid," Batman said, handing Huntress a glowing green shard that she nodded to as she pocketed it into her pouch.
Elsewhere, Lois lay awake in her bed as she felt at the empty space beside her sadly. Unable to sleep, she looked to a picture of her and Clark on her nightstand. That was when she opened the door and produced her press badge for the Daily Planet.
Huntress opened the casket to see Clark's corpse (which hadn't decayed at all in the two years he's been dead), holding onto a photograph of his adoptive father Jonathan Kent. Batman and Wonder Woman looked to him uneasily as Huntress bowed her head in respect, followed by Aquaman, Flash and Cyborg.
Aquaman then took the body and laid it gently in the water of the genesis chamber as the photo fell into the water as well as Huntress took the photo and put it in her pouch for safekeeping.
Cyborg then unpacked the Mother Box from its case. Aquaman then pressed Clark's body so it sank into the water as the controls for the chamber rose in front of Cyborg, which he then scanned.
"Ship's systems coming online," the ship's A.I. sounded.
Cyborg grew a USB stick from his hand that he stabbed into the system's jack.
"Welcome, Victor. Would you like to assume command?"
"I'm in."
Lois once again went to the coffee shop and picked up her two cappuccinos before resuming her rounds.
"The ship says the Mother Box is hostile," Cyborg said to the team. "I can override all the safety protocols, but there's no time to repair all the electrical damage that Luthor's power surges caused to the primary capacitors."
"English," Aquaman said.
"There's not enough charge to wake the box," Huntress translated.
"I might be able to do it," Flash said. "I mean, I might be able to jump-start it. I don't like to break this rule, but when I approach the speed of light, I... look, crazy things happen to time but if I do it, I create massive electrical power. I could backtrack if I could get enough distance, I can conduct a significant electrical current. I might be able to wake the box if that's... still what we want?"
"It is," Batman confirmed. "Do it."
"Hey, Miss Lane," an officer said as Lois approached him by the destroyed Superman memorial.
"Good morning."
"I didn't think you were coming."
"One last time," Lois said, handing him the coffee as she looked to the destroyed statue before sighing as she walked away.
"I see engines, so this must be the end of the line, so I'm..." Flash started as he rushed to the back of the ship. "I'm in position."
"Ready to initiate drop sequence," the ship's A.I. sounded as one of the drones lifted the Mother Box directly over the pool of the genesis chamber.
"The Mother Box is ready," Cyborg confirmed. "The ship's begging to me not to drop the box."
"This action is irreversible."
"It's afraid," Wonder Woman nodded. "It knows that Steppenwolf will come for it."
"We know that already," Batman said. "Continue."
"I strongly advise against activation. Apokoliptian technology is hostile."
"We don't have a choice," Huntress said to the A.I. "If we don't do this, then there's nothing on the planet that will be able to stop Steppenwolf anyway! He'll get the box eventually. This gives us a better chance to stop him before he can activate the Unity."
"In that case, Rebecca... do as you wish."
"Barry, I'm initiating the countdown," Cyborg said.
"Five..."
"This is a bad idea," Aquaman said.
"Well, we don't have any good ones," Huntress said.
"Keep going," Batman ordered.
"Four..."
"We need to abort now."
"Just do it!"
"Three... Two... One..."
Cyborg then sent out a surge that shocked the Mother Box, activating it and sending a pulse outwards that surged throughout the entire planet... and Victor started getting some of the most screwed up imagery that you can ever imagine happening to the planet.
"Victor..." Wonder Woman asked.
"No..."
"Go?" Flash asked.
Everyone looked up to see the drone drop the box.
"GO!" Huntress shouted into her comm.
Flash then shouted out and zoomed off down the halls as fast as he could.
"Come on..." Huntress said in slow motion as the box slowly approached the water. The box slowly dropped down, sinking ever so slightly in... but then, as Flash came in, having reached lightspeed, time reversed itself as the box slowly reascended and Flash reached out and lightly touched the box as he leaped over the pool, charging it with massive lightning power that instantly activated the box as he crashed down the opposite hall and slammed into the wall.
"The future has taken root in the present."
"GET DOWN!" Cyborg ordered and everyone ducked for cover as a massive surge of power erupted from the pool, an energy beam obliterating a hole in the roof of the ship and sending genesis water spouting out of it like a geyser, catching the attention of Lois, the officer and all the S.T.A.R. Labs scientists outside... just as the Mother Box crashed into a car beside them.
"...Whoa," Huntress said, shocked. "Did it work?"
Everyone looked up to see a speck of a man with his shirt burned off floating in the skies above Metropolis.
"Yeah..." Cyborg said. "I think it worked."
As the armed forces approached in tanks, the newly resurrected Superman flew down to the destroyed statue of his likeness. Confused, he looked down to see the "S" symbol of the House of El that represented Superman and he breathed heavily as the memories started coming back slowly.
That was the point where Aquaman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Cyborg and Huntress leaped into the fray in front of him.
"He's back," Wonder Woman said.
"We did it," Huntress said in awe.
Looking carefully at the Justice League, Superman used his X-Ray vision to see through their structures as Cyborg looked concerned.
"Something's wrong. He's scanning us."
"What?" Flash asked.
As the Mexican standoff continued, Cyborg suddenly gave out several spasms as his arm shifted into its blaster form.
"Shit!"
"Victor?" Huntress asked. "What are you doing!?"
"It's my auto-defense system! It senses danger!"
"Victor, no!" Flash shouted.
"I can't control it!"
"Don't! You'll kill us all!"
A rocket suddenly blasted out of Victor's arm that destroyed one of the walls of the memorial.
"Kal-El, no!" Wonder Woman shouted.
But her plea fell on deaf ears as Superman blasted out his heat vision, which Cyborg immediately blocked by morphing his arm into a shield, only for the force to knock him away as the lasers sliced through a police car.
"He's confused," Huntress realized. "He doesn't know who he is."
Superman then hefted up the destroyed head of his statue and tossed it forwards, only for Wonder Woman to use her sword to slice through it with ease.
"Arthur, we need to restrain him," Wonder Woman said to Aquaman.
Aquaman leaped forwards as he thrust his trident out, only for Superman to punch him into the clearing and Wonder Woman leaped forwards to do the same as he socked her in the shield, sending her on her back.
Huntress took out her bow and shot out an explosive arrow that send Superman skidding back a bit, only for him to fly forwards as she dodged to the right with a flip over him.
Cyborg recovered and blasted out a sonic blast to Superman that sent him into the grass as he grunted, taking no damage whatsoever. Wonder Woman then sent out her Lasso of Truth, which Superman wrapped around his arm.
Huntress looked on as she grabbed the lasso next to Wonder Woman and both of them heaved with all their strength as Superman walked forwards to them as he wrested them forwards, sending them sliding towards him before they balanced themselves on one of the steps, trying their best to stay back from him.
"Kal-El, the Last Son of Krypton," Huntress said in desperation. "Remember who you are. Please."
"Tell us who you..."
Superman then flicked the lasso back as Huntress was sent screaming into his grip as he grabbed her by the collar just as Aquaman and Cyborg flew in to try to restrain him.
Flash then set off in a sprint to try to get in a sneak attack... but much to his shock and awe, Superman's eye shifted to him and Flash's jaw hit the floor as soon as Superman moved his head to him. He had somehow matched his speed!
Superman tossed the other heroes away before he rushed after Flash, which sent him crashing to the floor before he leaped upwards and smashed through the walls as Flash scrambled to try to get away from the confused Kryptonian before he crashed against a wall and stopped his speed.
Superman floated in the air and his eyes glowed red with heat, prepared to finish the job, when bullets started opening fire on him, which merely bounced off his skin. Superman then leaped to the tanks and blasted his heat vision forwards to them. Thankfully, the soldiers evacuated just as the tanks were destroyed.
But one of the tanks was sent flying towards the cop that Lois gave a coffee to, only for Cyborg to smash it back as Huntress sliced it in half with her spear.
"You should probably move," Cyborg said.
Batman then rushed in and helped the soldiers up to their feet.
"You alright?"
"Yeah."
"Take cover back there."
Superman then glared harshly at the bat themed hero, remembering that the fight with the head of Wayne Enterprises what had led to his death in the first place.
Cyborg rushed in and started clashing with his several limbs to try to stop him, only for Superman to take every single blow like it was nothing and he smashed him into the ground. Flash and Aquaman leaped in front and behind him as well as he casually walked to Batman, only for the Kryptonian to casually walk around Flash as he crashed into Aquaman.
Wonder Woman and Huntress leaped in front of him as well, but he didn't stop.
"Please don't make me do this," Wonder Woman begged.
When he didn't stop, Wonder Woman rushed forwards and attempted to smash her bracelets together, only for Superman to grab her arm just as they were about to collide and give her a wicked headbutt. Wonder Woman retaliated with a headbutt of her own, which Superman only smirked at as he flew up and gave her a head a smash, sending her crashing into a crater in the marble floor.
Huntress only briefly stumbled back as she took out her spear as Superman flew to her and she moved her hair away from her right eye with a chuckle.
"You wouldn't hurt a little girl, would you?" Huntress asked with a chuckle, backing up against the nearby step in fear as Superman approached her and she gulped, sweat dripping down her face. "We're not your enemies here, Clark! We brought you back because the world needs you!"
Superman only ignored her as he approached Batman, who looked stunned as Superman's eyes started glowing red.
"Clark," Batman begged. "Clark, no!"
Superman blasted his heat vision outwards, which sent Batman flying into a police car.
"Clark, no. This world needs you," Batman begged.
Huntress then ran forwards as she reached into her pouch as she pulled out the green shard, which sent Superman descending to the ground as Huntress made sure to keep her distance.
"Of course. Kryptonite," Superman said as she sheathed her weapons and shone the shard to him.
"I don't want to do this," she said. "I just don't want you to hurt anyone."
"Clark, don't!" an approaching Lois said as she ran to her resurrected boyfriend as Huntress sighed in relief as she sheathed the shard in her pouch.
"Hold your fire! Hold your fire!" a soldier said to his comrade as they both put down their rifles.
Superman recovered and panted heavily at the sight of Lois as Huntress held his hand, which she panted heavily at.
"Clark, please," Lois said. "Just go."
A long tense moment of silence rang out as Superman approached Lois.
A tear ran down Lois' cheek as Clark approached her and Lois brought him into a hug with a sob and shaky breath. Superman only hugged her back, confused as Batman got to his feet.
"Yeah. Let's go."
Clark then flew him and Lois away as the Justice League looked on with a nod.
"I'm so sorry," Flash said as Aquaman glared at him angrily as both recovered from the destroyed steps.
Then, the Justice League looked on as a pillar of blue light shined down near the Kryptonian ship as the scientists ran for cover.
"He's coming," Cyborg said.
"The Mother Box," Wonder Woman said. "Where is it?"
Inside the lab, Silas desperately carried the covered Mother Box inside before firing up his computer and typed in several commands.
"Come on. Come on."
Steppenwolf then dropped down from the portal and looked to the crushed car where the Mother Box was as he looked on at the fleeing scientists and he roared angrily before leaping into the building.
"Attention, security breach detected! Sector Four, Level Three. Implement lockdown procedures immediately."
Silas took the box and a remote for the laser before running for his life as Steppenwolf approached. He set it down on a pedestal in front of the electron laser as Steppenwolf swung his axe forwards to destroy the gate leading to the lab and stepped inside.
Silas rapidly fiddled with the remote to activate the laser to mark the Mother Box as the door to the laser chamber closed.
"Give me the Mother Box!" Steppenwolf ordered as Cyborg leaped in and glared at the Apokaliptian conqueror hatefully.
Cyborg then looked behind him as his father flipped the activation switch and his finger hovered over the button.
"No. No, no, no, no, no! Dad, wait! Don't!"
Silas only closed his eyes as he pressed the button as the electron laser blasted out and hit the box, superheating it and sending several more lasers bouncing off the walls of the chamber and as a result, Silas' body was almost instantly vaporized.
Steppenwolf slammed Cyborg aside into the wall before smashing into the chamber and picked up the box, seemingly victorious.
Then, thunder flashed in as Huntress, Flash, Wonder Woman and Aquaman leaped into the room and prepared themselves, glaring hatefully.
"So begins the end," Steppenwolf said as he teleported away.
"Oh man," Huntress said as she began nervously pulling her hair. "Tell me that didn't just happen. Tell me we didn't just lose the fucking planet!"
"We didn't lose the planet," Wonder Woman said. "Not yet."
"Victor?" Flash helped Cyborg up. "Whoa, Victor. Are you okay, man?"
"He's dead."
"What?" Huntress asked.
"My father. I didn't save him. I couldn't."
"Oh my God," Flash said, feeling sympathy for what was going on with his own father.
Tears fell from Cyborg's single human eye as he stepped forwards weakly as Huntress put a hand to her heart and bowed her head in respect.
"His father's dead because of us," Aquaman lamented. "I told you waking that box was a bad idea."
"It wasn't a bad idea," Wonder Woman said. "We needed Superman. We still do."
"Well, whatever returned, it isn't Superman. His body and powers, maybe, but it ain't him."
"It is him," Batman said, walking into the lab. "He recognized Lois Lane."
"Who?"
"The woman he loves," Huntress remembered. "He remembers her."
"Nah. He went to her cause she wasn't afraid of him. It's called instinct, Becky."
"Wait, where did Steppenwolf go?" Flash asked as Cyborg stepped into the chamber.
"He's gone back to his base," Wonder Woman said. "To assemble the three boxes."
"And we still don't know where his base is," Aquaman said. "Or how long until..."
"Hours," Batman said. "The boxes synchronize, Unity forms, we don't get there in time to stop it, the planet dies."
"This is not your..." Cyborg whispered to himself before gasping. "He knew."
"What? Wonder Woman asked.
"He knew. My father knew. He wasn't trying to destroy the box. He was trying to superheat it. He made the core the hottest thing on Earth outside of a nuclear reactor. Now, anything that hot would have to..."
"Blink off the charts of a thermal imaging system," Huntress realized. "Your father sacrificed himself to mark that box."
"We have to get back to my lab and use the satellite to scan the Earth for thermal anomalies," Batman said.
"I'm already on it."
"I'm sorry," Flash said. "You have a satellite?"
"I have six."
"Right. You're insanely rich."
Victor then nodded to the Justice League.
"Let's go find that son of a bitch."
Outside of the Kent family farm in Smallville, Clark flew Lois down onto the lawn outside and Lois looked around to see where they were.
"You brought us here. You remembered."
"This is home," Clark said, uttering his first words since his resurrection.
"You spoke."
"Did I not before?"
After heading inside the foreclosed house, Lois rifled through the clothes before pulling out Clark's old shirt and walking to her boyfriend as he looked out the window.
"Your mother got behind on the payments. She never told anyone," she said to Clark.
"I don't understand."
"She's a proud woman, Clark. Here."
Lois helped Clark put his shirt on and he buttoned it up, still looking confused as to what was going on.
"She loved it here," Clark said. "So did I. So did I..."
Soon after, the Justice League had finally arrived at the Batcave, where they were met face to face with Alfred.
"Wow!" Barry exclaimed at the sights. "This is awesome!"
"Brought some friends," Bruce said, stepping off the elevator.
"You ready for this?" Bruce asked.
"I'm a Tennyson, Bruce," Becky said. "We're always ready for a fight. Everyone, this is Alfred, I work for him."
"Alfred," Diana nodded.
"Good day, ma'am," Alfred nodded as Becky returned the gesture, only to look at Victor with a shocked glance.
"It's badass, Alfred," Arthur said as Alfred watched the team leave.
"Well, I'll put on the tea."
"Great," Bruce said. "I don't know where we're gonna find the cups."
"There's the Mother Box, right there," Bruce said as the thermal detector hovered somehwere over Russia.
"Go to visible spectrum," Becky said.
Bruce pressed the button as the map turned red as Diana nodded.
"Pozharnov. Ghost city not far from Moscow. It's been abandoned since the nuclear accident there thirty years ago."
"Not even the Army goes there," Victor nodded.
"Right," Barry said. "It's probably so radioactive that you'd grow an extra foot out of your neck."
"Not anymore," Becky said. "Steppenwolf's harvested the radiation to build his stronghold."
"Zoom in," Diana said as Bruce zoomed in to show the stronghold.
"What the hell is he building?" Arthur asked.
"The Unity's in there," Bruce said. "We'll attack from above."
"Explosives won't separate the boxes," Becky reminded. "Only strengthen their bond."
"What? So we can't blow it up?" Barry asked.
"Not from the outside," Victor said. "I want to plug into the Unity one-on-one. Fuse with it. Weaken its bond from the inside so we can break it down into three."
"No, you don't know what you'd be up against," Diana said. "You'd have to stream into the Unity by yourself. These boxes together are world destroyers. A billion years old. They'll get inside you and find your weaknesses and your fears and use them to destroy you."
"Just get me in and get me time."
"You could die, Victor."
"If I don't, we all die. Period. I got nothing left. You wanted me to use these gifts, right? That's what I'm gonna do."
"Okay, so... if Victor wants to save the world by fusing with the doom boxes, I say we put him in the doom boxes," Becky said. "But getting him in means attacking that base."
"Fighting the devil and his army in hell," Arthur said.
"I mean, this guy's probably fought hundreds of thousands of other superbeings on the other planets he's destroyed, right?" Barry asked. "And we have to assume he's won."
"I don't care how many demons he's fought in how many hells," Bruce said. "He's never fought us. Not us united."
"You got it."
"Bruce, I need access to your arsenal," Becky said with a nod.
"Anything. What do you need?"
"I can make use of anything. But I'm gonna need a few guns."
Lois stepped onto the front porch of the Kent house and looked to see Clark grazing through the tall plant leaves in the vineyard.
"Take that as a yes," Clark said.
"What?" Lois asked.
"The ring," Clark said, gazing at the engagement ring that Lois had been wearing ever since his death.
"You're really back."
Clark only smiled as he let a butterfly fly onto his hand and he let it crawl around his hand with a warm smile.
"I was given a second chance, Lo," Clark said, putting his hands on Lois' shoulders. "And I am not gonna waste it."
Clark then brought his new fiancé into a long warm embrace.
Suddenly, a pickup truck pulled into the driveway and the loving couple looked behind them to see Martha step out, an incredibly stunned look at seeing her son alive and well before her.
She laughed to herself as she cupped Clark's face as he brought her into the most welcome hug she's probably ever had in her life.
"Are you really you?"
"I'm really me, Ma."
Martha only laughed in absolute joy as Clark brought his two girls in for a group hug.
"Listen, Ma. They wanted me back for a reason. I need to find out why."
The team looked as Becky handled her new assault rifle with several targets in front of her in the shooting range of the Batcave as Bruce sounded a horn.
Becky gave rapid fire shots, moving quickly as she nailed every target in the head before she quickly reloaded and shot all the targets down at the next level. She then pulled out the pistol from her right holster as she nailed all the dummies with about three shots per lethal area in about six seconds flat.
Picking up her shotgun, she then repeated the process on all the targets on the next level, marking them harshly before she holstered her handguns with a nod before picking up the sniper rifle and then aiming carefully before nailing a headshot to the farthest targets in the back with a nod.
"She's ready," Diana nodded.
"Ten years of practice," Becky said as she placed the larger guns into her back holsters as her handguns dangled from her belt. "When I'm not being a superhero, I'm always training or hunting."
"It shows," Victor nodded.
About twenty minutes later, Victor looked at the skylight above them as he projected the image of Bruce's ship above them.
"How's Victor doing?" Arthur asked as Becky twirled her spear around before going to practice with her other melee weapons with a shout of effort each.
"You know. Wanted to be by himself," Barry said, looking back at Victor.
Becky nodded as she walked up.
"We're asking a kid who just lost his father to go up against the most powerful machines in the universe," Arthur said. "It's not fair."
"Then again, it wasn't fair that I got sent here after saving my universe," Becky said. "But now that I'm here, there's no way I'm going to let my new friends down."
"I thought you didn't care," Barry asekd, munching on a sandwich.
"I never said that."
Bruce looked on as Arthur walked away as Diana approached him.
"What is it?"
"Uh..." Bruce started. "I had a dream, like, I don't know, almost like a premonition. It was the end of the world and Barry Allen was right here and he said to me 'Lois Lane is the key.'"
"She is," Diana said. "To Superman. Every heart has one."
"I think it's something more. Something darker."
"Master Wayne," Alfred said, startling Bruce. "Master Wayne! You need to see this."
The Justice League all perked up as they walked forwards as the skylight opened up and Bruce's airship touched down in front of them as the floor beneath them lifted up to reveal a secret compartment above the bay as the cargo bay to the ship opened in front of them.
"No way!" Becky said as she and Barry laughed in awe.
"You fixed it," Bruce said to Victor.
"It wanted to fly. Flight is its nature."
"Yours too."
With that, the Justice League entered their transport to Pozharnov, ready for the final battle.
"He'll be here, Alfred," Bruce said as his butler handed him his helmet. "I know it."
"What makes you so sure?"
"Faith, Alfred. Faith."
Alfred nodded as the ship closed up and made a U-Turn before blasting off to Pozharnov and Steppenwolf's fortress.
Speaking of which, the pedestal holding the three Mother Boxes melted into solid magma as the Mother Boxes generated energy as they floated in the air.
"At last," Steppenwolf said. "Prepare for his arrival. My redemption is nigh. Unite. Synchronize."
The Mother Boxes then melded into one, letting loose a surge of blue energy outwards that illuminated the stronghold.
The explosion was heard all throughout the world, from Themyscira to Atlantis and even the Wayne Manor.
As the Justice League's ship blasted towards Pozharnov, the team looked over a projection of the abandoned city.
"Satellite's show he's created a defensive dome," Cyborg said.
"It's a design flaw," Batman said. "Take out the tower, the dome will fall."
"The enemy never anticipated a frontal assault," Huntress said, pointing at the tower with her spear.
"Right," Flash said. "Probably because he didn't think anyone would be that nuts."
"Bruce is right," Cyborg said. "We've got to destroy that defensive dome so we can reach the Unity before it synchronizes."
"What if the dome's not destroyed?" Aquaman asked.
"It'll be destroyed," Batman and Huntress chorused.
"Once Victor is linked with the Unity with Barry's help, he'll break through the Unity's defensives," Wonder Woman said.
"Remind me how's that again?" Aquaman asked.
"Uh, with the power of love?"
"Barry," Huntress groaned.
"With a catastrophic energy surge."
"Better."
"You'll have to run faster than you've ever attempted to generate a charge of that size," Batman said. "And then you make physical contact with Victor. That force should propel him inside the Unity. And then, Victor, it's all up to you. Take it apart from the inside before it synchronizes."
"Whew," Flash said. "We finally have an actual plan."
"We have a plan," Batman said.
Victor turned off the projection as Huntress cracked her knuckles and neck with a wicked grin.
"Let's get just."
Back inside the Kryptonian ship, Clark wandered through the halls in search of a goal. As he walked forwards, several Kryptonian suits popped out of the walls.
"The symbol of the House of El means hope," Jor-El's voice said in his head. "Embodied within that hope is the fundamental belief in the potential for every person to be a force for good. That's what you can bring them."
"Clark," Jonathan Kent's voice said. "You were sent here for a reason."
"You can give them an ideal to strive towards."
"And even if it takes you the rest of your life, you owe it to yourself to find out what that reason is."
"They will stumble, they will fall."
"You're gonna have to make a choice."
"They will join you in the sun, Kal."
"A choice of whether to stand proud in front of the human race or not."
"You will help them accomplish wonders."
"All the hopes and dreams of Krypton live in you now."
"I'm so proud of you, son."
"Your mother and I loved you."
"Your mother and I knew you would change the world."
"Your heart was tested."
"I know it's been hard, Clark."
"But you gave hope to their world."
"You need to show them who you are."
"Love them, Kal. The way we loved you."
"Fly son. It's time."
Superman then stepped out, clad in a black suit with the 'S' symbol of the House of El as he looked up intently. For the Man of Steel had now truly been reborn. Superman then focused intently as the gravel beneath him started to levitate.
Smiling contently, Superman shot skywards through the stratosphere to space, taking in the Earth in all its glory.
Wonder Woman sheathed her sword and shield with a nod as Batman tossed Aquaman his trident with a nod.
Cyborg shifted his arms into all kinds of weapons as Flash did his stretches and deep breathing with a nod while Huntress loaded her guns with a nod as she made several strikings and poses with her spear with a shout of effort.
Then, the ship touched down a short ways from the dome as the cargo door opened and the Justice League all stepped out, looking like absolute badasses.
"I'm gonna take out that tower and knock out that shield dome," Batman said. "Whatever you see, stick to the plan. It's why I brought you together."
The team looked as Batman reentered the ship and closed the bay door with a nod. They only watched as Batman flew the ship over to face the tower. He flew the ship forwards towards the dome and fired a missile at the dome, which successfully blew a hole in it, but then, it almost instantly reformed itself.
"Bruce, pull back," Cyborg said. "You're not gonna make it."
"Just have to knock a little louder," he grunted.
Batman then fired out a ton of missiles from the ship that blew a big enough hole in the dome to fly into, which Steppenwolf immediately took notice of. The caped crusader smirked as he blasted the tower to smithereens, which immediately opened the dome for our heroes.
"Kill him!" Steppenwolf ordered as his parademons took to the sky. "Get to the carriage! Defend the Unity!"
"Oh, shit."
Batman immediately landed the ship, crashing through several abandoned buildings before settling to a stop as he saw the swarm of parademons flying out of the stronghold.
"Tower's down," he said into the trashed controls. "Do you read me?"
"Uh, yeah," Flash said into his earpiece. "Loud and clear. Are you okay?"
"Bruce? Bruce?" Huntress asked.
"Get to the generator. I'll lure as many of those monsters away from you as I can."
"What does that mean?"
Batman descended the ship to the hanger where the Batmobile was stored.
"Don't worry about me. Just get to the Unity."
Loud clanging was heard on the door of the ship's cargo bay.
"They're here," Batman said as he flipped the lever, plunging the ship into darkness.
"Bruce?" Flash asked before turning to the others. "Comm went dead."
"Let's go," Wonder Woman nodded as the team ran forward, ready for war.
The parademons pried the cargo bay door open to try to tear Batman apart, aiming their laser guns forwards into the darkness of the ship, only for the Batmobile's headlights to flare to life as the engine roared in their ears. Then, two machine guns in the car's head opened up, which opened fire and shredded the parademons to pieces.
The Batmobile tore out of the cargo bay and into the streets of the abandoned city and the parademons all flew towards it.
"Come on. Follow me, you damn insects."
As the guns tore the parademons apart, one of them slammed into the Batmobile on its side before Batman activated the nitrous, which caused the car to speed up even more as it made its way towards Steppenwolf's stronghold. Speaking of which, some of the parademons perched onto laser cannons on the edges of the stronghold to try to blast the Batmobile apart along with the parademon's regular laser guns, but the car simply took it like it was nothing and Batman used the turret cannon on top of the Batmobile to send out a heavy missile forwards that obliterated the tower some of the parademons were perched on, engulfing them all in a huge explosion.
However, this also caused the tower to start to collapse into the street and Batman barreled the car forwards, making a sharp turn at the curve, while still opening fire on the parademons and just made it past the debris. Some parademons flew down, but Batman did a quick doughnut, sending them flying into sharp shards of metal, killing them instantly.
The parademons still on top were still slamming their weapons on top of the Batmobile, causing critical damage to its hull. One parademon opened the hull and was just about to finish Batman off, when suddenly, Wonder Woman gave out a loud battlecry and sliced it in half, causing it to scream out in pain as Becky ran in and opened fire on the parademons with her new assault rifle, sending them dropping like flies around her.
Batman flicked a switch, sending a large bumper forming in front of the Batmobile, acting as a battering ram as Flash ran by the car as Cyborg flew after with Wonder Woman by his side before he sent a few missiles into the building ahead, creating a big hole in it and Huntress and Aquaman leaped forwards, as the Justice League suddenly froze in place as they all let out a loud battle cry as Batman barreled through the building as Aquaman and Huntress landed on top of the car with a nod to the billionaire.
"You really are out of your mind!" Aquaman called as he leaped off and impaled an approaching parademon with his trident as a few parademons flew to their comrades sides to help, trying to yank the trident out of his hands, but the Atlantean heir slammed them back with a few melee moves, followed by a quick headbutt and a few punches to the face. Aquaman looked behind him to see another approaching parademon and yanked his trident back before slamming it into it to catch a new ride.
But then, the trident fell out of the parademon, causing Aquaman to start to plummet downwards, only to be rescued by an approaching Cyborg.
"You're welcome."
"My man."
Cyborg tossed Aquaman forwards as he tossed his trident into a parademon before he landed on top of it and pulled it out as they crashed into a building, which then collpased around them, but Aquaman then somersaulted out of it with a sly smile.
Huntress looked on as she ran to the stronghold as she was met with a ton of parademons before she did tons of wicked flips and dodges to avoid before she pulled out her handguns and managed to land a headshot on tons of the parademons, killing them instantly as they flew to her, but she pulled out her spear and shouted out as she used one as a springboard to get in the air as she stabbed her spear into the head of one before flipping forwards as she sheathed her spear and pulled out her bow, sending out an arrow that stabbed a parademon into a building by the head as she landed safely and she leaped forwards onto a parademon's shoulders before she knocked an arrow and shot it in the head point blank before she manipulated to crash into a ton of others before she sent out an explosive arrow that annhilated all of them in an instant as she smirked and blew a bang out of her eye.
Cyborg flew forwards, blasting energy waves out of his hands, which sent the buildings on either side of him collapsing into the parademons.
One parademon aimed the turret cannon on the side of the stronghold carefully at the Batmobile, only for Wonder Woman to fly in and block it with her shield. The caped crusader then blasted a hole in the fortress, but was unfortunately struck by the cannon, but thankfully ejected out of the car just as the car crashed into the side of the stronghold. A few parademons blasted their lasers at him, only to be struck by the crashing Batmobile. Batman then fired his grappling hook out and zipped away before a parademon could tackle him.
Batman then swung forwards and tackled a parademon off the side of the fortress before barreling forwards and throwing a bomb outwards that obliterated a parademon firing at him.
Aquaman leaped forwards and threw his trident that impaled two of the parademons firing at him and Huntress sniped out a parademon approaching him as Aquaman looked to see her, Cyborg and Flash with a smile.
"Yeah, we got this. You go do your thing."
Flash shouted out as he zoomed forwards throughout the city, taking out any stray parademons as he ran.
Batman grabbed a laser blaster and shot down as many parademons as he could before he ran to the turret cannon and blasted down tons of them in a row.
Wonder Woman leaped in and bisected a parademon with her sword before Huntress leaped by her side and both used their sword and spear to slice and stab any parademon that flew near them instantly. They looked up to Batman as he stood by them with a nod and the two smiled gratefully before he set a bomb on the cannon and jumped off the ledge before it exploded before moving on to another turret, blasting down the parademons.
Back in Wayne Manor, a loud thud was heard, which Alfred took notice of as he saw his drink splash in its cup. He looked up from the car he was working on to see Superman land in front of him with a smile.
"I'm assuming you're Alfred."
"Master Kent. He said you'd come. Now, let's hope you're not too late."
Aquaman, Cyborg and Huntress grunted as they landed at the entrance to the fortress to see Steppenwolf hovering over the Unity.
"HEY!" Aquaman shouted as he banged his trident on the ground, which caught the Apokoliptian conqueror's attention.
"Remember us?" Huntress asked. "Round two, guys?"
"Hell yeah," Cyborg said as he grew his sonic cannons.
Aquaman shouted out, sending a wave of energy outwards from his trident as Cyborg blasted his sonic cannons forwards as Steppenwolf ran towards them and the energy knocked him onto his back, dazed at what the heroes just did as Wonder Woman dropped in, baring her weapons at him with Huntress at her side.
"Shall we dance?"
"Let's do it."
"Tell me, Amazon," Steppenwolf inquired. "Why did you abandon your own sisters only to cast your lot with these creatures clinging to their puny lives. You weren't there to protect them from me. And sadly, you could have."
Wonder Woman shouted out as the four heroes ran forwards as Wonder Woman blocked Steppenwolf's strike with her sword as Huntress clashed it back with her machete as Aquaman leaped forwards and barely missed a stab as Steppenwolf slammed him back. Cyborg gave a flying punch to the jaw before opening his lasers at him as Wonder Woman leaped, only to be swatted back as he was pelted with the lasers.
Aquaman stabbed him, only for his armor to catch it as he slammed the Atlantean back as Huntress gave a flying leap over him and parried his axe with her spear before she landed, sliding back as her hair slung forwards over her face as she gave out an almost feral snarl to her enemy.
Soon, Wonder Woman, Aquaman and Huntress were all leaping at Steppenwolf from different directions, stabbing and slashing him at any chance they could get.
Meanwhile, Flash ran through Pozharnov, his blue lightning forming a circle around the entire city.
"Barry, I'm in position," Cyborg said as he loomed over the Unity while his teammates were keeping Steppenwolf busy.
He reached forwards to touch the Unity, only to pull his hand back at the heat.
Aquaman parried a slash from Steppenwolf, only for him to grab his head and toss him back into Wonder Woman and Huntress and he approached Cyborg.
"Okay! I built the charge!" Flash shouted. "You call it!"
"Barry, on one! Three, two-" Cyborg never finished as Steppenwolf grabbed him and hoisted him into the air. "Get the hell off me!"
He grew his extra limbs from his back in a futile attempt to pry himself free from Steppenwolf's grip.
"Victor!"
Wodner Woman shouted out as one of her Bracelets of Submission glowed and she shouted out as she slammed it against her shield, sending out a massive surge of energy that destroyed the bridge, which caused Steppenwolf to crash down into the ground floor of the stronghold with Cyborg falling by his side.
Steppenwolf grunted out as he grabbed his axe and swung it to Cyborg, who narrowly avoided it before he activated his thrusters and shot back up to the Unity. Steppenwolf leaped up to try to grab him, but was ensnared by the Lasso of Truth and Wonder Woman yanked him down as Huntress shouted out as she fired an explosive arrow from her crossbow at him as he jammed his axe onto the ledge just where Cyborg was standing.
Wonder Woman grunted in pain as Aquaman and Huntress ran to her and yanked on the lasso as well as they pulled with all their might.
"Victor, do it now!" Huntress shouted.
Steppenwolf shouted out as he was pulled back down to the heroes' level.
"I watched your island burn," he said as he recovered and turned to Wonder Woman. "Your sisters begging for their lives. As did your mother."
"Liar," Wonder Woman said.
Steppenwolf shouted out as he swung his axe forwards as Wonder Woman blocked it with her shield and slid back with a grunt. He then swung his axe to Aquaman, sending him flying into a loose piece of rubble, causing him to grunt out as the rubble was about to crash down upon him. Wonder Woman shouted out as she blocked the rubble with her shield as she and Aquaman were buried under it.
The parademons continued firing down at Flash as he narrowly avoided the blasts while Batman continued blasting at them with his own blaster.
"I can't maintain this!" Flash shouted out. "Victor!"
Cyborg once again extended some cords from his fingers as he plugged them into the Unity before he was struck from behind with an orange energy blast as Steppenwolf leaped up to him.
"Leave him alone!" Huntress shouted as she ran over and started clashing at him with her spear, holding him off. "Come on, Vic! I can't hold him off for long!"
"Victor, I can't hold this!" Flash agreed.
"For Darkseid," Steppenwolf said as Huntress blocked his axe and he brought it down close to her head as he brought his axe closer to her neck, crackling with energy. But then, the axe was stopped where it stood as it was grabbed.
Huntress gasped out as she looked forwards to see Superman standing in front of her as a huge smile spread across her face.
"Not impressed."
"Superman!" she said.
Superman then gave out the slightest breath as the axe completely froze in Steppenwolf's hands before Huntress grabbed it and then shouted out as seh slammed it into the ground, where it shattered into a billion pieces. Superman then gave a kick forwards, sending Steppenwolf flying into the wall.
Steppenwolf grunted out as he got up from the ground as Superman fired his heat vision at him, which he avoided as it blasted a hole into the wall of the strongohld as Huntress absorbed some of the energy from his heat vision and she shouted out as she swung her spear outwards and sent out a red energy wave, which hit him the Apokoliptian, sending him crashing into the wall. Steppenwolf ran forwards and swung at Superman, who easily avoided the strike with his superspeed before he gave out a wicked punch that sent him crashing to the ground floor as Wonder Woman and Aquaman recovered.
"Alright," Aquaman smirked.
"Kal-El," Wonder Woman said in awe.
Steppenwolf charged forwards as Wonder Woman shouted out and slammed her wrists together, blasting him back with a surge of energy, sending him crashing to Aquaman, who swung his trident elegantly as he knocked him back with his own burst of energy, which sent him flying upwards as Huntress shot her bow outwards, hitting him with an explosive arrow that sent Steppenwolf flying downwards to the ground as Superman punched him upwards again before flying up and slamming him down to the bridge again.
Superman then tackled him and punched him in the chest before blasting him with his heat vision, which destroyed his armor and burned off one of his horns.
"Barry! I'm connected to the Unity!" Cyborg shouted. "I need the charge to get inside!"
Unfortunately, outside a parademon aimed his turret at Flash and was able to strike him perfectly, sending him crashing into the ground with a pained groan before aiming at his head, only to get blasted in the head by Batman's blaster.
"Barry, are you okay?" Batman into his earpiece. "Barry?"
Flash groaned out as he recovered. "I got the wind knocked out of me. Need a few seconds, that's all!" He then groaned as he felt at his side, which was burnt from where the shot hit him.
Wonder Woman and Aquaman grunted out as they landed beside Huntress as Superman continued smashing Steppenwolf into the ground as Batman stood at the ledge of the roof of the stronghold, looking downwards.
"Barry, where are you?!" Cyborg shouted. "It's almost synchronized!"
"Okay, okay. Gotta heal, Barry. Gotta heal."
Superman shouted out as he blasted his heat vision outwards... just as a portal opened behind our heroes and they all turned to it, bracing themselves for what was coming. They looked and gasped outwards as they saw DeSaad and Darkseid glaring to them as Huntress gulped harshly.
"BARRY!" Cyborg shouted out.
But unfortunately, the Unity finally synchronized in Cyborg's grasp.
"It's too late..."
"Oh no," Batman said as he grappled downwards to the Justice League's level.
"He's here!" Steppenwolf shouted.
The Unity charged up before sending a force of energy outwards that engulfed everything in its path as Flash grunted out in pain before everything slowed to a literal crawl around him as he felt at his side, looking forwards as he seemed to be inside a realm of utter space and time. Clearly, this was what he called the Speed Force.
"Okay. Just gotta go faster than the speed of light. Far beyond the speed of light. You gotta break the rule, Barry and you gotta do it now."
Flash ran forwards so quickly that he clearly wasn't even visible to the world around him.
"Dad... whatever happens, I want you to know... your kid was one of them, Dad. One of the best of the best."
Time literally seemed to reverse around Barry as the ground and streets reformed behind him as he ran forwards to the stronghold as the effects of the Unity seemed to reverse as the stronghold reformed itself.
"Make your own future. Make your own past. It's all right now."
As all of the heroes' bodies reformed as time reversed, Barry shouted out as he leaped forwards and slammed his hands into Cyborg, instantly charging his cybernetic body up.
Cyborg then found himself standing in a ruined city, and looked down to see his human body, clearly knowing he was inside his mind again. He looked behind him to see himself standing with his parents.
"We've been waiting for you, Victor," Elinor said to him. "My broken boy."
"You don't have to be alone anymore," Silas said. "We'll be together again."
"We can put it back, Victor," a version of Victor said as his voice echoed. But Cyborg wasn't stupid. This was clearly the Mother Box talking to him. "Make you whole again."
"I'm not broken," Cyborg said, starting to break up as he stabbed his hands into the Unity, which started to distort as various forms appeared in Cyborg's mind. "And I'm not alone."
Cyborg slwoly brought his arms apart as he separated the three Mother Boxes, making them visible to the Justice League.
"Superman, now!" Huntress shouted.
Superman rushed forwards as he slammed his hands into the Mother Boxes and grunted outwards as he separated them from their charge, sending them clattering to the ground, destroyed.
Steppenwolf recovered and roared outwards, before his chest was pierced twice as Aquaman stabbed him with his trident from the back and Huntress stabbed him in the stomach from the front with a wicked smirk.
"Like I told you," she said. "The Huntress always gets her prey."
Steppenwolf roared outwards as Aquaman lifted him up as Huntress retracted her spear as Superman punched him forwards and Wonder Woman ran forwards, bounded off one of the walls and shouted out as she swung her sword forwards and sliced it right down his neck, beheading Steppenwolf as his body flew through the portal to Apokolips and Darkseid placed his boot onto his failed warrior's severed head, glaring at our heroes as the blood pooled beneath his feet.
Darkseid only wordlessly glared at the portal as the Justice League crowded in front of it, victorious as the portal closed.
"I told you Steppenwolf would fail," DeSaad said to his ruler.
"Yes. Yes, you did."
"My master, now that the Mother Boxes have been destroyed, how will we retrieve your great prize?"
"Anti-Life is found, DeSaad. And we will stop at nothing to possess it. Ready the armada. We will use the old ways."
Superman reached down as he pulled Batman onto the roof of the stronghold along with the rest of the Justice League and the seven heroes stood in a line, victorious as they looked out over the beautiful sunrise on the horizon as Batman's ship appeared in front of them.
"We did it," Huntress said as she jumped up and down with glee at the heroes as she hugged Batman. "We did it! We really did it!"
"Yeah," Batman said, calming her down. "We sure did, kid. We sure did."
After everyone had returned home a few days later, Victor stood in the apartment once again and looked over the destroyed remains of the recorder Silas had left. He stuck his hand over it and used his technopathy to completely rebuild the recorder before picking it up and pressing play.
"Your father twice over," Silas' audio said.
Victor then rewound the tape a little bit before playing it again and moved over to look to see a picture of him and his deceased parents.
"Now let me speak to you from my heart. Not as a scientist, but as your father. Your father twice over. I brought you into the world and back to it. You can't imagine how proud I am of who you are. Have always been. So many wrongs I've left un-righted. Everything breaks, Victor. The world is hurt. Broken. Unexchangeable. But the world's not fixed in the past. Only in the future. The not yet. The now. The now is you. Now, now's your time, Victor, to rise. Do this. Be this. The man I never was. The hero you are. Take your place among the brave ones. The ones that were, that are, that are yet to be. It's time you stand. Fight, discover, heal, love... win. The time is now."
Victor chuckled as he nodded, pleased.
Arthur stood on the shore of the Icelandic fishing village once again. He walked down to the water to meet up with Mera and Nudis as they smiled proudly upon him.
"I gotta go see my father."
Arthur turned away from the two Atlanteans as he loaded some fishing traps into a pickup truck before jumping into the back as well, looking back at Mera as the truck drove off.
"Ship's all yours, now, kid," a scientist said as Ryan looked over the S.T.A.R. Laboratory by the Kryptonian ship. "You're the boss. Ryan Choi, Director of Nanotechnology. That's your thing."
"Uh-yep," Ryan said, taking the badge with a smile. "That's my thing."
Bruce, Alfred, Diana and Becky walked into the doors of an old abandoned church and looked over the inside.
"Wow. Must be a hundred to 150 feet," Bruce examined.
"Must be," Alfred said as Diana walked behind them with a proud smile.
"Gotta be," Becky said. "This is going to make a great headquarters for the League."
"Big round table," Bruce said, looking over the room. "Seven chairs, right there."
"But leave room for more," Diana said.
"But room for more," Becky and Bruce agreed as Becky put her hands on her hips with a nod.
"Gods help us," Alfred smiled.
Barry once again visited his father in the penitentiary as he slammed a job certificate on the window as Henry took the phone.
"What?"
"It's actually the worst job you can get in a crime lab. But, uh, my foot's in the door," Barry said.
"Is this like a 'job' job?" Henry asked.
"'Job' job."
Henry smiled proudly and chuckled. "Your foot's in the door."
"Isn't that a thing people say?"
"Your foot's in the door. Yeah, that's something people say, man. His foot's in the door! That's my boy right there! Taught him nothing he knows! Yes!"
The prisoners all clamored with claps as Barry chuckled and shook his head.
"Oh, gosh. Dad, you're gonna get maced again."
"No stopping you now."
"Thanks, Dad."
Clark smiled as the moving company started to put all of the Kent family's furniture back into Martha's home as he walked over to a smiling Bruce.
"'Thank you' is not enough for what you did."
"I just undid a mistake, that's all," Bruce nodded.
Clark chuckled as he watched Martha and Lois enter the home.
"How did you get the house back from the bank?"
"...I bought the bank," Bruce chuckled as he and Clark moved to the house. "Congratulations, by the way."
Victor stood at the Stone Family's grave before he shucked his hoodie off to reveal his cybernetic body before blasting off into the sky.
Commissioner Gordon flipped the switch, lighting up the Bat Signal in the skies above Gotham.
Batman saw this with a nod as he looked over Gotham City proudly, his cape billowing in the wind.
Diana stood at the Temple of the Amazons with an arrow in her hand, looking over the beautiful sunrise.
Flash ran through the streets of Central City, taking in the beautiful atmosphere as he spread his arms out as he sped away.
Clark walked through the streets of Metropolis before taking off his glasses and tearing his shirt and coat open to reveal the iconic S symbol.
In Arkham Asylum, a loud buzzer sounded and all the inmates were released from their cells and were guided by the guards to the mess hall, but one particular prisoner stood staring at the wall even as the cell door opened.
"Come on, Luthor. Let's go," a guard named Nelson said to who appeared to be Lex Luthor over the intercom. "Luthor!"
Having had enough, Nelson got up from his seat and went to the door. "Open up two, Carl, please."
The door opened and the guard walked over to Lex's cell, where the man just stood there, not responding to anything.
"Luthor. Alright, stop jerking around, Luthor, or I'm gonna have to go in there."
Nelson then entered the cell, where he yanked the prisoner around to reveal... not Lex, but another inmate, who laughed maniacally at him as Nelson recoiled and ran to the guard room and sounded the alarm throughout the asylum, warning them of Lex's escape, sending the guards scrambling all throughout the asylum's grounds.
Elsewhere, on a ship in the bay between Gotham and Metropolis, a mercenary in black and orange armor with various weaponry placed throughout his armor stood on a speedboat as it rushed towards a cruise ship.
Stepping off the boat, the mercenary stepped onto the cruise ship, where he was met by none other than the man who caused Superman's death, Lex Luthor.
"Ah, there he is," Lex said. "Welcome aboard. Care for a glass of Gout de Diamants? I was just celebrating God's return. Out of the ground and back up into the sky."
"I heard you were a few clowns short of a circus," the mercenary, known as Slade Wilson, aka Deathstroke, said.
"I was, thank you, until the good doctors at Arkham helped me find some much needed clarity. Now, you volunteered to destroy the bat free of charge. Why the pro-bono work?"
Deathstroke removed his helmet to reveal a white haired man with a short goatee and a black eyepatch on his right eye.
"It's personal."
"Ah, let me guess. An eye for an eye?"
"You said you had something I want. You'd better not be wasting my time."
"Ooh, and endure your wrath, Mr. Wilson? No. I wouldn't think of it. Uh, I have too much to live for. And more important things to do... But if you want the Batman, here is something that can help you. His name is Bruce Wayne."
Deathstroke only smirked and chuckled, grabbing a glass of white wine. "On second thought, we do have something to celebrate."
"Good boy."
Bruce suddenly shot awake in Wayne Manor as Becky stood by with a nod to him, looking at her watch as he got out.
"You okay?"
"Yeah," Bruce groaned as he walked up to her... before both heard a distant explosion and stepped out onto the patio to see the green martian from earlier lowering down to their level.
"Can we help you?" Becky asked.
"I'm sure both of you know that Darkseid is not finished with Earth. The Anti-Life Equation is here somewhere. We have to find it before he does. There's a war coming. And I'm here to help."
"I'm sorry, who are you again?" Bruce asked.
"I've gone by many names and taken many forms. And like you two, I've realized I have a stake in this world and it's time I started fighting for it."
"Oh. Well, we could definitely use the help. So, glad you're here..." Bruce said.
"You know, I never thought I'd see the defenders of Earth united and fighting as one. It wouldn't have happened without you, Bruce. Or you, Becky. Both of your famliies would be proud."
"We sure are," a famliiar voice said as Becky looked behind her to see a portal had just finished forming as Scarlett stood with Gwen with a proud smile as a tear ran down Becky's face as she hugged her sister.
"Gwen," she said, giving her a strong hug.
"You don't sound excited to see me," Gwen said. "I thought you'd be ecstatic after the past few weeks you had here."
"Oh, I'm definitely happy to see you... but I am so freaking tired after that fight," she chuckled. "Even with the new powers."
"I can imagine," Scarlett said. "Bruce Wayne, my name is Scarlett Katherine Felchenerow, aka the Scarlet Warrior. I'm with an interdimensional organization called the Protectors."
"A top secret organization dedicated to helping the multiverse with the problems they can't solve on their own," the alien said.
"Indeed," Scarlett said. "I've come to take Becky home."
"Don't worry, Bruce," Becky said, showing her J.L. badge on her belt. "I'll always be in touch. The Protectors have the Map of Infinity. They can send me here any time they want."
"Great. I'll let the others know you've gone back home," Bruce said.
"She'll be back," Gwen said. "We'll make sure of it."
Scarlett then produced the Map to open a portal back to Earth-262 with a smile.
"Ready?"
"Oh yeah," Becky chuckled as they turned to the alien.
"I will be in touch as well. Oh, and some have called me... the Martian Manhunter."
Bruce smiled as Becky nodded to him as the trio entered the portal as Martian Manhunter took to the skies again and flew off intot he distance.
"I guess I'll see you around," Bruce said as he re-entered his lakeside home.
The rest of the Omni-Team stood around Omni-Manor waiting before the portal finally sprang into existence as Becky, Gwen and Scarlett stepped out with a smile as Ben, Jen and Ally walked up.
"Becky!" Jen said as she ran up and hugged her. "Wow, you've gotten..."
"Stronger? Yeah, I kind of got some new powers while I was in that other dimension," Becky said. "The power of the Amazons now runs through me."
"You think you got an upgrade?" Ally asked. "Check this out."
She then shouted out as she blasted two red beams of energy upwards that obliterated two targets standing there.
"Whoa. Matter-"
"Oh, I've evolved way past Matter Girl," Ally said as she smirked. "I'm an Alpha Osmosian now. Alexia said it herself, I'm the pinnicle of human evolution. I am... Apex."
"Apex," Ben said, jabbing his friend's shoulder. "I love it."
"So do I," Jen said as the five heroes stood around each other. "The Omni-Team is back together! At last!"
"Not yet," Gwen said. "We still have to deal with Kevin. Who knows what he's been doing while we were stranded?"
"We're about to find out," Becky said as she put her fist in. "Omni-Team?"
"Omni-Team," the rest said, all putting their fists together with a nod.
