In the woods near Bellwood, Dr. Animo was riding his mutant frog as said amphibian shot its tongue out and ate a passing squirrel.
"Shh..." Animo shushed as he checked his knapsack to see he had the canister he needed as he commanded his frog mount to hop through the woods as he looked back and gave a determined nod. "We've lost them."
"Um, actually, you're kinda surrounded," Apex said with a shrug as she flew above the horrified Animo with a chuckle as Kevin leaped behind him while wearing concrete armor.. "Just ask Gwen and Becky."
That was when Animo's mutant frog was immediately pelted with a few explosive arrows and mana discs.
"That's right," Huntress said as she rested on a tree branch with her crossbow drawn as Lucky Girl hovered on the opposite side of their oldest nemesis other than Vilgax. "Surrounded."
"It'll take more than the likes of you to capture me!"
"Then it's a lucky thing we're here!" Deep Freeze shouted as she dropped in as her brother flew overhead in the form of Big Chill.
They both sent out a dual blast of cold energy, freezing Animo's mutant frog to the ground.
"Get moving!" Animo shouted as his frog went to sleep from the cold.
"You're the expert on animals," Big Chill said as he and Jen transformed back. "You should know that frogs don't like cold weather, right?"
"It's over, Dr. Animo," Jen said, folding her arms.
"You underestimate me, Ben and Jen Tennyson. You think this is just a big frog."
"Well, you got us there," Ben said.
"I'd say a big frozen frog," Kevin said.
"Well, you're all in error!"
Suddenly, the device between the mutant frog's eyes activated and the mutant frog suddenly grew larger and stronger, breaking out of the ice and hopping away, leaping across the buildings as the Omni-Team looked on dumbfounded.
"That was embarrassing," Jen said as the team regrouped in the Omni-Team headquarters as she rubbed her scalp.
"We'll catch him next time," Becky assured.
"Tomorrow, Jen and I will check out every abandoned warehouse in Bellwood," Ben said. "And, I don't know? Pet stores?"
"But for now, it's time to hit the hay," Jen said with a yawn as she and Ben went to their rooms as Gwen and Becky both gave out a yawn as well.
"That was a lot for a school night," Becky yawned as she walked of.
Gwen nodded and went to her room and collapsed onto her bed... only for her alarm clock to sound as it was 5:30 in the morning, causing Gwen to scream into her pillow and pound her mattress in anger at not being able to get any sleep as she turned it off.
When 8:00 came, Becky had gotten dressed into her exercise clothes as her sister walked up beside her in similar clothing as they gave each other a hug as they put their headphones in and walked out for their morning jog as Becky turned on her rock music while Gwen turned on her French lesson tape.
"Listen to me closely. Would you like some grapefruit? Voudrais-tu du pamplemousse?"
"Voudrais-tu du pamplemousse?" Gwen repeated as they jogged down the street.
"Yes, I am a grapefruit fan. Oui, je suis fan de pamplemousse."
"Oui, je suis grand fan de pamplemousse," Gwen repeated as she washed up in the shower as Becky waited outside.
"Do you have enough pink grapefruit? Avez vous assez de pamplemousse rose?"
"Avez vous assez de pamplemousse rose?" Gwen repeated as she and Becky packed their things for their school from their old home as they walked down the stairs.
"I would like a waffle iron. Je voudrais un gauffier," the French tape said as Gwen and Becky's mom called them over with a wave.
"Good morning sweethearts," Natalie said as Gwen and Becky took a seat at the table. "I need a favor from you two."
"Sure, Mom," Becky said. "What do you need?"
"I still haven't finished sending the family reunion invitations. Auntie Joyce is going to kill me."
"We can do a few every morning. When do you need them?" Gwen asked.
"Tomorrow at the latest."
"We could just print them out, you know," Becky said.
"It's my side of the family, sweetie," Natalie said. "Invitations are written by hand. We're not all as informal as your father's folks."
"Mother!" Gwen scolded.
"I'm not judging them. But let's face it. Polite people don't... glow."
"Hey! We glow!" Becky said with an offended tone.
"Not around me, you don't."
"So no Tennysons at all?" Gwen asked. "Not even Ben, Jen, Emma, Aunt Sandra or Grandpa?"
"Ben's table manners leave a bit to be desired for my relatives and I don't want them to know Jen and Emma are magic Anodite hybrids or that your Aunt Sandra's a knight who's not from this Earth and Grandpa Max dresses like he's on a vacation in Las Vegas and they'll hate the things he cooks. Remember the kabobs he brought to Thanksgiving six years ago? What is mogwai anyway?"
"Those things that will burn if hit by light, multiply if they get wet and turn into monsters if you feed them after midnight," Becky said, rolling her eyes. "Plus, it tasted just like chicken."
Natalie sighed and tapped her finger on the envelopes again.
"When can I have these?"
"You sure we can't just run these through the printer?" Gwen asked as she and Becky signed their envelopes. "Who has a formal family reunion dinner these days anyway?"
"We do."
"Okay. We may have to finish these tonight," Becky said, handing her mother the signed envelopes. "It's been a crazy day."
"What your free study block?"
"We have to study," Gwen said.
"After school?"
"Kung fu," Becky said. "Don't worry, Mom. We'll get them done."
"You two are wonderful, Gwenie and Becky," Natalie said, kissing them both on the cheek. "Well, I'm off."
As Natalie opened the door to go to work, she found Ben and Jen standing there waiting.
"Hi, Aunt Natalie," Ben said.
"Good morning, Ben, Jen," Natalie said. "Bye, girls."
"Gwen, how do we look up Animo's Plumber prison record on the extranet?" Jen asked.
"Multi-global finetic search," Gwen said. "Pluses, no quotes."
"Thanks," Ben said, noticing what his cousins were doing. "So it looks like you two could use some help with all that party stuff."
"We could," Becky said, beaming.
"You don't have to write an invite for us," Jen said before picking up an apple. "That'll save you some work. And postage too."
As the day went on, the sisters continued writing out the invitations as Becky put on her music and Gwen put her French tape back on.
"How do you use a waffle iron? Comment utiliser en gauffier?"
"Comment utiliser en gauffier?" Gwen repeated. "Ugh, this is making me hungry."
"You're telling me," Becky said with a roll of her eyes. "But there's no time for breakfast and we'll still never get this all done before school."
"Unless..." Gwen smirked as she pulled out her spelbook and stuck her hand out. "Scribo en incendia!"
The pens were then surrounded by a magenta glow as they started signing the envelopes on their own.
"Man, I love magic," Becky said as they got up from their seats and walked to the kitchen.
"Maybe there's a grapefruit in the kitchen," Gwen said as her cellphone began ringing as she took it out and answered. "Hey, Kevin. What's up?"
"Not much. I'm putting an electrolysis unit on the car."
"Your car's got unsightly hair?" Gwen asked, not noticing as her pen began writing faster and faster, which did catch Becky's attention as the invitations began to catch fire.
"Funny. It creates oxygen from water. I'm trying to make the car submersible."
"Uh, sis..."
"Not now, Becky."
"Wanna meet for lunch?"
"Love to. But I can't. Maybe-"
Gwen trailed off as she saw the inferno catching on the table.
"Gotta go, call you later!"
The twin sisters ran over to the table as Becky rushed over to grab the kosher salt from the kitchen and poured it over the fire, instantly putting it out as she blew it away to reveal the pile of envelopes was reduced to ashes.
That was when they heard a car horn honking as Gwen groaned in annoyance.
"Coming! Coming!"
"Good luck, sis," Becky said as they both rushed out the door, grabbing their backpacks and rushing to their separate bus stops.
At Gwen's finishing school, Gwen walked down the halls while reciting her French with a determined nod.
"Past subjunctive," Gwen said before repeating a few more French phrases.
"Gwen!"
As she was getting her things out of her locker, Gwen turned her head to see her friend Emily, a blonde girl in a wheelchair, wheel up to her with a smile, holding up a bagel.
"No time for breakfast, I presume?"
"As usual. Thanks, Emily," Gwen said, taking a bite of the bagel. "I was busy studying for our French test today, plus helping my mom out with the reunion invitations."
"Most important meal of the day, remember? So, hey, they scheduled my piano audition for the Performing Arts Academy."
"No way!" Gwen cheered before leaning down to give her friend a hug. "Em, congratulations!"
"Yeah, it's huge. And I'm expecting my best friend there for support?"
"No problem," Gwen said, closing the locker.
"5:15."
That time filled Gwen with a look of horror as she gulped.
"Oh. Today?" Gwen asked. "I'll... I'll really try to be there for you."
The day went on with Gwen going through math, history, gymnasium, etc. before the day ended. As she walked out, Kevin came rolling up in his car.
"You never called me back," Gwen's boyfriend said, opening the door.
"No time for lunch," Gwen said. "I need to stop at Office Mania, then by my parent's house. Becky and I need to finish something."
Gwen then gasped in horror as she saw the state of absolute disrepair that her boyfriend's clothes were in, clearly having been in a nasty fight.
"I found Animo," Kevin said simply before driving off. "Giant mutant frogs. Plural. No joke."
"The twins were right about checking pet stores."
"You know that the twins and Becky got passes to go off campus anytime they want after it was revealed they were superheroes?" Kevin asked as Gwen's phone began ringing.
"I didn't even know you could get frogs at the pet store."
"Snake food."
"Oh," Gwen said before answering her phone. "Mom! Yes, I got your message. Becky and I are heading home right now. I already bought new envelopes."
"Fibber," Kevin said under his breath.
"Some now and I'll finish before bed," Gwen said before jabbing Kevin in the shoulder.
"Sweetie, this is your family. And more importantly, this is my family," Natalie said. "When I married your father, I knew the Tennysons were a little odd, but I had no idea. Some..."
"He got away again," Kevin said, speaking over Gwen's mom. "The twins are using Wildmutt and Wildcat to track him. He'll call when he finds them."
"Just because you and Ally don't go to school, I don't want you going up against Animo without me and Becky."
"You know about that?"
"Uh, gotta go, Mom."
Back at Omni-Manor, Becky had arrived from her and the twins' high school as she met her sister and Kevin inside Becky's room as Kevin looked at all the hunting equipment and awards lining the walls as Becky sat in her favorite chair as they were still writing the invitations.
"I didn't mean to say anything, but there's only two high schools in Bellwood," Gwen said. "I go to the fancy prep school while Becky goes to the public one with the twins. And I noticed you don't go to either."
"I was in the Null Void for a long while." Kevin answered. "By the time I got out, I'd kind of outgrown fifth grade."
"I know. But we also know how smart you are," Becky said. "There isn't a piece of tech in the entire galaxy you can't strip apart and rebuild by hand."
"But it's still a thing, Becky," Kevin said. "Isn't it?"
"You're good at math. You know history. You read all those books in prison," Gwen said. "Maybe you could go for a high school equivalency degree?"
"A GED?"
"Sure. I'll find out what you need to do. Help you study," Gwen said.
"Always room for another project, huh?"
"If I wanted to take it easy, I'd go live with our grandma. I'm not about to let anyone down."
Just as Gwen and Kevin kissed, Apex suddenly flew by the window with a shout.
"Kevin! Animo just made more mutant frogs!" she shouted to her brother. "Come on! Hop to it!"
The gang caught a faint glimpse of a ton of mutant frogs hopping all through the streets as Jen as Firefox and Ben as Discharge raced after them.
"Uh, maybe we should go with you-"
"You're busy. You've got this," Kevin assured as Becky's phone began to ring again, much to her annoyance.
Gwen reached into her drawer and took out a charm, handing it to her boyfriend.
"Protection Charm. When you need it, sound out the word on there carefully."
"Sure-"
"No, seriously. You mispronounce it and we'll never see you again."
"You'll see me tonight," Kevin smirked, absorbing the concrete from the ground.
As panic rang out in the streets as Becky answered her phone.
"Hi, Mom," Becky said with a strained smile. "I'm sure Ben and Jen are on the news. Gwen and I aren't with them. We'll get the invitations. We promise."
"About that other thing," Kevin said to Gwen and Becky. "We'll talk."
"Hey, how's your cursive?" Gwen asked.
"I gotta handwrite for the GED?"
"For the invitations- you know what? Never mind."
Kevin leaped out the window to join his sister and the twins... and Gwen looked at the clock to see it was 12:45 and she groaned in annoyance.
"UGH!" she groaned.
"Yeah, Gwen's gotta get back to school, Mom," Becky said. "There's a test at 1:00."
Gwen immediately rushed out of the door as Becky went back to the invitations with an annoyed groan.
In her French class, Gwen frustratingly wrote down her notes as she repeated the words to herself, only to be silenced by the teacher.
"Look out behind you!" Kevin's voice called as everyone looked to see Jen as Titanosaurus wrestling with one of Animo's mutant frogs and everyone in class ran to the windows to see what was happening.
Titanosaurus was clearly struggling with the massive amounts of frogs leaping towards her at high speeds. Thinking quickly, she grabbed one of their tongues and twirled the frog around like a javelin into the others, only to be tackled from behind.
Ben suddenly came in as Kung Fang and tossed several ninja stars out that stabbed into the frog, allowing him to fly in and land a drop kick at it to free his sister as she quickly changed into Rockette and twirled her guitar pick in her hand.
"Footwork, guys! Stick and move!" Gwen called, shutting the window and going back to her seat, the fight outside causing the teacher to hold her head in annoyance.
Later, as Gwen was getting stuff out of her locker, she was confronted by one of her school's teachers.
"Gwen Tennyson? This is your free period?"
"Yes, but I'm kind of busy now-" Gwen started, only for her teacher to hold out his book to her.
"Take over my Algebra 2 class?"
"Me?! But why?!"
"The police just called. My car's been demolished. Something about a giant frog."
"But I-"
"Sometimes I wonder why I live in Bellwood," the teacher grumbled, walking away from a disbelieving and disappointed Gwen.
"Missed lunch, didn't you?" Emily asked as she rolled up to Gwen, offering up a strawberry yogurt, causing her friend to smile gratefully.
Later still, Gwen was writing down a complex math equation on the black board when she suddenly got another call from Natalie, causing her to groan in annoyance as she declined it.
As Gwen went through the motions of her classes, she then caught a glimpse of an ultimatum by Dr. Animo.
"Every man, woman and child, every living thing that crawls on this miserable planet will be at my mercy!"
Gwen groaned and went through the motions of the day before the day ended and she met Emily outside of class.
"My audition's over the hill in an hour," Emily said.
"Becky and I still have those invitations and that thing with Kevin," Gwen said, taking Emily's wheelchair and rolling her away.
"It's the Chopin Fantasie-Impromptu. I've been practicing it for months. Come on, Gwen. I'll drive."
"Uh..." Gwen began.
"In or out?"
"Gwen!"
Gwen looked as she saw Fasttrack zoom in before she changed back into Jen with a pant.
"We underestimated him."
"Animo?" Gwen asked.
"No, the ambassador of Venezuela. Of course it's Animo!" Jen said. "The Omni-Team can't do this without you."
Gwen grimly looked at Emily and then to Jen with a gulp.
"You're not coming?!" Emily shouted.
"Emily, Dr. Animo is trying to take over the world," Jen tried to explain.
"Yeah, yeah. I know what's going on."
Emily then grabbed Gwen's arm and then rolled her over to her car with a glare.
"You and I have been besties since kindergarten. And with you getting that superhero career, it hasn't been easy with you flying all around the universe."
"Is this about that one time with you and Jen?" Gwen asked.
"Look, it's not that I hate your cousins," Emily said.
"Oh come on!" Jen shouted. "It was one time, Emily! How bad could it have been for you?"
"You left me at the top of a radio tower!"
"For your own safety!" Jen shouted.
"Two hundred feet above the ground!"
"You couldn't have fallen! Ben webbed you to it!"
"...Actually, strike that. I do hate your cousins," Emily said as she wheeled away from the scene. "But you're right. That's not what this was about."
Gwen followed after her and she gave out a sigh.
"You're always doing stuff I'm not a part of. I can live with that," Emily said. "But if I get into performing arts, I'll be the one doing something without you. And you're gonna write me off."
"I would never do that, Emily."
"Maybe not by choice. But look, how often do we just hang out anymore? And different schools won't help anything."
"I didn't realize it was so important, Em," Gwen said.
"No. You didn't."
With that, a disappointed Emily simply wheeled away from the school, leaving Jen alone to talk with her cousin.
"You coming, Gwen?" Jen asked.
"...Yeah."
Later on at night, Apex shouted out as she maneuvered around and managed to position herself just enough for one of Animo's mutant frogs to shoot its tongue out and wrap around her wrist and she used her super strength to toss it towards her brother, who gave a roundhouse kick to it to send it crashing into a tree.
"Rip them to pieces, my pets," Animo ordered as the Omni-Team found themselves surrounded by mutant frogs as Huntress swatted the tongues back with her spear and she knocked three arrows and shot them out before they exploded, sending another frog into a park bench.
Kevin was suddenly ensnared by a massive frog tongue, but he thought quickly and parkoured off of the frogs' limbs before he grew a spike from his chest to sever the otngue, sending him crashing into a park bench.
"You're more resilient than I thought, Kevin," Animo grinned as his Mutant Frog hoisted the Osmosian in front of him. "But in the end, you have fallen before me just as the whole world will."
"Not if we have anything to say about it," said a voice as Animo looked to see Ben as Cannonbolt and Jen as Herofire with Lucky Girl and Huntress standing by.
"You're too late!"
Indeed, the observatory's telescope moved into position as the Omni-Team all glared heavily at him.
"While the Plumbers helped me, I had time to plan my revenge. So I scaled up my transmodulator ray and overclocked it. The entire Earth will be-"
"Dude, my sister's on a schedule," Huntress said. "Can we just skip this ridiculous banter and move directly to the terrific beating we're about to give you?"
Cannonbolt rolled forwards with a shout as Herofire flew forwards in a flash and Huntress twirled her spear and ran forwards with a shout.
As this was happening, Emily was at her piano recital and looked forwards and lifted her legs up to place them on the pedals. Then, she looked to the audience to see the empty seat where Gwen was supposed to be and she only looked down in disappointment before steeling her nerves as she began to elegantly play Chopin's Fantasie-Impromptu, which played over the entire fight.
Herofire gave out a loud battle cry as she flew forwards and fired several beams of solar energy from her hands and eyes while Cannonbolt ran three of the mutant frogs over, the dual attacks sending them both flying.
Animo adjusted the transmodulator dial on his forehead to better control his mount as he leaped forwards to dodge Cannonbolt's strike before landing on top of the Arburian Pelarota and then let go of Kevin, sending him flying right into Apex's arms as she set him down.
Huntress shouted out as she spun her sword and violently stabbed into one mutant frog, killing it before she used her Amazonian strength to toss it forwards into the other frogs with a shout.
Lucky Girl charged forwards and then put up a mana shield to block the slams from a mutant frog, struggling to hold him back with a massive grunt, only barely noticing another mutant frog leap up from behind her, causing her to raise her other hand to put up another shield to block that one as well before she gave out a punch to both shields, causing them to grow a mana spike from the centers, impaling right into the frogs' torsos, killing them.
Apex flew upwards and shouted out as she lit up two flames in her hands and blasted them forwards right into a mutant frog, burning it alive before she flew downwards and grabbed the corpse before she hoisted its mouth up and grabbed the tongue, before twirling it like a flail, knocking several of the other frogs that leaped towards her down ot the ground and right into Kevin's arm and leg blades.
However, as all this action was happening, the transmodulator telescope activated, sending a powerful blast of energy outwards that flew right into Gwen, which she successfully blocked with her energy shield.
An annoyed Animo leaped off of his frog mount and ran towards the observatory, catching Cannonbolt and Herofire's attention.
Animo climbed through the observatory's dome opening and ran to his computer, frequently pounding on the keyboard just as the Omni-Twins burst into the observatory and changed back to their human forms and charged towards Animo just as the telescope began to adjust towards Kevin and Apex as they continued dueling with the remaining mutant frogs.
Animo gasped in shock as Ben grabbed him by the shirt with a look of anger... only to grin as the twins witnessed the telescope's cannon charge up and blast right into Kevin and Apex, much to the twins' horror.
Thankfully, as the smoke cleared, they saw a mana shield shatter and they looked to see a battered and bruised Lucky Girl groan and fall into Huntress' arms. Angered, Kevin shouted out and ran towards Animo, who adjusted his transmodulator to command the lead mutant frog to leap in just as the Kevin and Apex ran into the observatory to help as Ben and Jen transformed into AeroForce and Firefox.
The mutant frog shot its tongue out and whacked Firefox into the wall and recurved it towards Kevin, wrapping his blade arms in it. Apex took notice and flew upwards, using her super strength to hoist the mutant frog up into the air and tossed him towards AeroForce, who flew in a massive circle and sent Animo and his mount flying out of the observatory and the frog landed gracefully... only for Animo to pale as he saw the twins had gone Ultimate AeroForce and Ultimate Firefox and burst out of the dome.
Ultimate AeroForce sent several razor feathers out, sending Animo and his frog mount flying into the streets while Firefox shouted out and sent several multicolored beams of fire from her nine tails, causing great pain as she tossed the tongue to her brother, who grabbed it and spun around in a massive circle, whirling Animo and the mutant frog around in circles before tossing the frog to Apex, who socked it into the observatory wall with her super strength, the impact being enough to kill it as Animo was sent flying down screaming into a powerful kick from Huntress, sending him crashing to Lucky Girl's feet as she snatched the transmodulator from his forehead and then crushed it with her strength.
Huntress hoisted the unconscious Animo over her shoulder just as Gwen checked her phone and gasped in horror at the time.
Emily just finished her recital as the audience all gave her a standing ovation for her perfect performance.
A disappointed Emily wheeled away from the piano and then looked forwards to the audience... and then gaped in shock to see Gwen standing there, seemingly having showed up just in time to see her friend perform.
Gwen winked to Emily, who smiled gratefully and then gave a bow to the audience.
Later that night, Gwen and Becky arrived to their parents house as Becky placed the invitations on the counter.
"Hey, Mom. We finished the invitations in the car," Becky said.
"Your father's getting dinner," Natalie said. "Kevin called and I asked him, Ally, Ben and Jen to join us. Help set the table, please."
"Sure," Gwen said as the sisters gave their mom a hug.
"How was your day, girls?"
"Oh, you know, the usual," Becky chuckled as she shot her sister a wink before both gave out a loud yawn.
