Review Corner:

Before I start the reviews though just want to point out that FF no longer sends me an email about comments that the fic receives, and that's usually how I rifle through these, so I apologize in advance if I miss any of them.

BlaiseCandell: Understandable, I stopped reading in FF to go to AO3 for a while too, but yeah we've gone quite a while from chapter 12 lmao. Well, Yuuna doesn't really play decks that other 'main characters' play though, she'll only just sell them their archetypal support, and yeah it's not like there's other characters in the series who change decks relatively frequently like Yuuna does, since it doesn't make sense just like you said. Do enjoy it slowly! It's not like I update this regularly lmao.

Roby the Cyber Warrior: Thanks for the compliment! Hope you enjoy it!

helioscrimson001: Lmao probably no, IshTear is uhh, something that you probably won't be seeing anytime soon, especially since we're far off from the Fusion Dimension of all places.

Rodvek97: Thanks for reading! The Number v Number duels will come soon enough, but they're definitely different from the anime ones at the very least. Everyone gets an archetype, the tournament arc is coming soon, but how soon is the question.

Kurogami Yaiba: I'm back! And now I will not update anytime soon lmao.

UnevenerGgc2: She really doesn't, even normal Numbers without the Number's Rule is playable, 101 and Giant Hand was playable when they was released, and it technically also had its own protection, Big Eye is a great pay offs for Rank 7s, Dark Matter, Shock Master, Rhongo, and Galaxy Tomahawk are banned at time of writing for war crimes, Bagooska is playable to this day, and those cards doesn't need the Number's Rule. Thanks~! I do think that it would be longer than the Fusion Arc, and it really was rushed lmao. Never did flesh out the daily lives at the Academia. It went well! And since I'm on break, here's an update.

Kiri32900: Had to think of a way of giving Allen some support cards. Certainly didn't help that the Infinitrack's uses their Link monster for a good number of recursion. Guess it works for those cards too lmao.

Valkoor123113: More background duels, there's a bit of talk about that in this chapter.

Reaper36: Oh that would be evil, then again it's SixSam. But you do need to hard draw the card, and it would be very broken if she just keeps opening it. Thanks~! I probably won't update anytime soon again lmao.

Anthony Galupo: I mean, probably not? It's mostly just Dragulon R8 ender and all that. And she doesn't really have the cards that support the strategy so probably no.

hnh058513: Lmao I honestly just searched a Fairy archetype that can do XYZ that's not StickChair, literally had nothing to do with Christmas, but here we are lmao. Merry very late Christmas to you too~! Or Merry Chinese Lunar New Years I guess at this point.

Yugioh Guest: Thanks~! You'll probably have to wait waaay longer than that lmao. It probably will just be like that. The Numbers depends on what kind of deck that they were even playing after all.

Boosted Knees: It really is cheap, honestly it's just a way to lengthen the duels lmao. Not that it actually came up in this duel. But yeah, it does have some lore implication, but who knows what. Those circumstances would definitely fit for full power though lmao.

Pjo crossover: How indeed, now isn't that a question?

solacefall: I'm pretty sure that it's been obvious that the main XYZ deck is going to be Zoo, but will it be the deck that will be used as the 'main' deck during the upcoming tournament? Who knows.

Goddess Cure Mystic: Lmao Scooby-doo rules. Lmao, at least Rush duels gives us nice card art. That's a way to look at things. Leo certainly hasn't gotten him support that much I'll say.

King Atem: Indeed he is. Will we see that soon? Who knows. Merry very late Christmas to you too~! Or Merry Chinese Lunar New Years I guess at this point.

ANoobWithPassion: I mean, almost any deck with removal can still beat any Numbers though lmao. Well, when you want to be toxic then you go play jank lmao. Those certainly do count as those. I mean, probably yeah, but not a lot of people can even pull those off.

Shadow Guest: It really doesn't matter yeah. It's basically the XYZ Chaos Giant honestly. I mean, probably yeah. I'm not going to lock Yuuna to just Utopia after all.

Guest: I mean, sure at the point where that monster would get summoned I guess.

PrincessElena21: So funny story about that, there was this one flashback scene with Asuka in episode 106 where there was a 'good' Academia student that warned her about what the school actually does and then getting carded, a purple haired girl with twin braids, she's based on that girl lmao. Honestly just picked a random character that I'm pretty sure has no name.

Guest: Yeah sure, when that comes up.

Reggie McKenzie: Thanks~!

Kal Kolter: Thanks for reading~!

Zuzu Obsidian: Thanks~!

Mikasa Ackerman: Thanks for reading~!

Pyro777: Merry Christmas to you! And a happy Lunar New year at time of writing. Had to fill the arc with something that isn't just a tournament arc, so here's a Number's Hunt. for some reason. Those basically sums up the recent events, really good summaries, yes, and I do have some ideas to expand on them. And those are true yes, Shark did recently get his cards, there is someone that got them and is selling them, and the usual wild Numbers. Sad to say that we are indeed not going to the moon for sacred combat no, but will that happen? Who knows. Again, I do have an idea as to why the Numbers appeared but I'll you all cook lmao. Oh you probably won't need to care that much about the entrance fee, even if it is a good amount of DP, she can get those back soon enough. Mei and Serena being the one that sells the Wild Numbers is… not correct I'm sad to say. Mind you it's an interesting theory, and it would definitely be something, but those two selling cards that they earn while logical and practical, is not the answer. True that, there's really only a handful of actually good number. Number 69 is something that will be handled far later, and 88 too for that matter, along with the slightly inconsistent FTKs that the Numbers enables. More crazy theories lmao, yeah Zexal Field doesn't really do much honestly speaking, well Chaos are only given to specific Numbers so, if I feel like I need to give the characters those then probably. No, there is not 12 39s running about. Speaking of Over Hundreds, I won't say that they're scattered about, but I'll just say that it's out there in someone's hands. No Numeronia though, I'll tell you that. Whether or not the Academia will play a part in the tournament is in the air, so is Shark's affiliation really, though the confrontation with Kaito will probably come soon. Mei and Serena is currently out there doing things indeed, and sure enough they will do stuff and things that leads to important developments. When will they meet again, is also still up in the air lmao. Yuto is the wild card, the reactions that he will have with the Wild Numbers is also just random, so who knows what would happen? Thanks~!

This was very, very long lmao.

Gamermisogi: Merry very late Christmas to you too! And Happy Lunar New Year for you at this point lmao, here's the new years gift. Had to make this arc a bit longer and has more stakes somehow, and honestly, the XYZ Dimension itself was already rushed, so here's a whole story line with monsters that ZEXAL was known most for. Oh she's already getting some that's for sure. It's an omake, that's for sure. Well to say that, lets just say that I'm only mixing a few of those lines and not all of them. That would be too much for me.

A Synchron Fan: Good to be writing~! The last few chapters have indeed been Side Character focused. It's a slow meta what can I say, it's what happens when people don't have the way of thinking that most meta players have, not that I have that lmao, but probably for the best yeah. Card censoring is something that I had to do regarding some cards anyway, I did do Inspector Boarder and all that, along with some other cards like Rokkets. It's just a random Fairy archetype that can facilitate Rank 4s, but everyone at least has some support cards. It definitely has some lore implications, and those will definitely come up. Really is just basically how every isekai Yu-Gi-Oh! character goes lmao. It really was just done as a reason to give her some rest and get the other side characters into the limelight, that's really just it, some things will get easier when the tournament does come up though. Merry very late Christmas to you! And a happy Lunar New year at time of writing~!

Prinny626: I do be living. New aliens lmao.

Guest: Pretty much yeah, there's only one of each, for lore reasons we'll say. Well it is, but dueling back to back without rest still does give a long mental strain, just ask anyone whose been on a tournament, but that will probably give quite a good amount of DP, though she probably won't make a degenerate deck with those. Yep, that happens in the background, but there's a little bit of that in this chapter. Playmaker mentality indeed, it probably will happen soon enough.

Guest92: It would definitely be a bit confusing, so I'll leave an AN at the end of the chapters to point out the changes if I remember.

AvatarGallia: Shark! Really is just beating the old mooks of episode 1 ZEXAL lmao.

EbonyPlague: I mean possibly, I'm definitely going to get some more deck specific duels, but I don't really know what other handicap I can give her when she's already gotten her hands on some staples. Probably not at that level though.

PeterKim: Well, that is sadly not what's happening. But it's not like we're doing the entire ZEXAL plot anyway, only doing this to get the Numbers monsters into rotation honestly.

Anon: It's not like the Number's Rule is going to come up a lot. Most of the time they're not even going to be destroyed by battle since almost everyone has non battle reliant removal so those won't matter, you don't have to worry about that. Thanks~! Here's another chapter~!

Guest Critic: Oh definitely no. I'm not giving that many people handtraps or anything of the like, only a handful of people, definitely not meta considering their decks are… anime decks. At most I'm just giving them some staple spells and traps. I mean, isn't it obvious about other Numbers at this point?

Guest: Ah, another one heading to this hole because of this fic lmao. It's the anime Number's Clause, but don't worry, they won't matter that much.

Guest: It probably will be something like that, it basically is something that has been linked to her from the start after all. That also works kind of as a backstory, certainly goes well with her upbringing and everything.

EXECZ: It really is just annoying more than anything, but it really won't come up much since there's a lot of non battle related removal. Everyone gets supports, sadly next match is not Shark V Yuuna… in this chapter at least. Probably not, but who knows. Oh definitely not for that FTK, too much cheese for me.

magostera: Nostalgia lmao. Never di get all 100, and we definitely will not get all of them here too, there's too much non important ones and all. Well, here's an update, wait for a whole month for the next one lmao.

Victory3114: It really do feel bad. Revenge is done though lmao. A nostalgia trip indeed, early Numbers and XYZ in general really do suck. The only good one at the start was Wind-Up Zenmaines being a good Rank 3 you can go with a normal summon of Tour Guide. Lmao Numeral Hunter is indeed a piece of cardboard. Its a very fair deck, thus why it never sees competitive play sadly. Thanks for reading~! Here's the next chapter~!

HPaxley: Oh that would definitely be a neat omake idea, I'll shelve it.

nahariyanash: Thanks~! Who knows why the Numbers are appearing out of the blue. That is the best Shark, yes. That would be interesting, she hasn't appeared yet though, so who knows. Nothing about that yet, the two groups have yet to interact with everyone present. Of course I've heard of Orcust, it's one of the decks for TOSS format after all. Tear is a whole other thing though, but its a Fusion deck so it won't be played anytime soon. She's the same age as Reiji, so around 13 at the time she's in the XYZ Dimension. Everyone else is 2 years younger than her so yeah. Synchro Dimension will definitely be wild with their bikes lmao. Thanks~! You can always go to the Discord to get some spoilers lmao.

Guest: Probably when she gets to Standard or something idk.

ArcherShirou: Things certainly are getting wild. She definitely will be fighting footsoldiers when that time comes.

Anyway.

Shout out to Zeranion, Rairaku, pyro stick figure 76, WhataGreatNamelol and a special thanks to Wolfwoodrade who actually paid for , absolute madlads.

Also spoilers before anyone gets mad in the comments, did you know that the anime version of Silent Angler doesn't restrict you from summoning monsters from the hand after you special summon it with its own effect? Wild. Also reminder that I might change card effects here and there to make some card's effect more balanced, or so I say but I just want to make writing some of the dueling scenes easier.

Glorious Numbers

"Sorry that we had to bother you with all of this Ruri-san. I know that this took a lot to set up."

She turned and looked back towards the smaller purple haired girl, and gave her a warm smile. "Oh it wasn't a problem at all! And I've already told you to just call me Ruri you know?" She reminded the girl as she continued to lead them to the center of the Heartland Dueling School.

And in return, Mei shook her head at the girl who shared the same face as Serena. "Still, it must've taken you a lot of time to set this up. What with needing to get us passes to even enter the school grounds and everything."

"At least it wasn't as annoying as getting off of the Academia." Serena grumbled out under her breath, just low enough for her to hear it, and received an elbow to her gut from the smaller girl by her side.

Though it didn't seem to deter the ponytailed girl too much from the look of it as she kept walking. She gave her smaller friend a glance at that, one that was returned by a glare from the smaller girl.

Serena, the girl that for reasons unknown to her shares the same face as herself, rolls her eyes as she keeps herself silent. And Mei huffed as she glanced back towards her, and offered an apologetic look.

"Again. Sorry about all of this." The purple hat wearing girl apologized again. She then proceeded to take a glance at the surroundings around them. "Though there doesn't seem to be as much as there was the last time we were here." She pointed out,

That got a giggle out of her. "Well of course! The last time you were here was basically a festival after all!" She said, reminding herself of the tournament that took place on school grounds, the exhibition matches.

"And well, since its close to the World Duel Carnival, people have been taking some leave of the classes." She said with a humm as she reminded herself of her own classmates that had taken those kinds of 'training trips'.

That earned the questioning gaze of the ponytailed girl. "And they let them do those? The teachers I mean." Serena asked, and to that she nodded.

"Yes." She said, and further elaborated as she raised a finger. "Well, truthfully the whole school is excused for taking leave. The entirety of the World Duel Carnival is basically a full holiday, and the school gives a week off for students to prepare for them. Though the school still does give out supplementary classes for those who want to attend them"

And Mei nodded at that. "Right, to prepare for the World Duel Carnival. And that's the classes that you're taking us to right?" The purple haired girl asked, righting the cap that was on her head as she said her question.

To which she nods. "Yes. You wanted to see Sakaki-sensei after all, right? He's one of the teachers that's supposed to hold a lecture today. Although I'm sorry that it had to take a while to even set this all up." She said apologetically.

"No no! If anything it's our fault!" Mei said as she waved her hands. "This girl here," She started as she glanced at the taller girl beside her. "Really wanted to meet the new teacher. Apparently his form of dueling interested her."

The statement that the purple haired girl gave made her raise an eyebrow. "Sakaki-sensei's form of dueling?" She asked aloud, tilting her head before her eyes widened and she snapped a finger towards the girl.

"Ah! You mean his entertainment dueling right?" She asked, to which the purple hat wearing girl nodded her head to confirm her answer. "It's such an endearing form of dueling! Quite honestly I've never seen anything like it before!"

And why would she? The mere thought of riding atop of the monsters that are given mass with the use of solid vision, of flying on the sky and performing tricks all while doing so, was certainly something that had never crossed the mind of anyone in Heartland City, maybe even the whole world.

She guessed that that was the reason why Sakaki-sensei got his spot in a teaching role at the Heartland Dueling School a mere month before the World Duel Carnival. With how eye-catching and, well, entertaining his entertainment duel is, there was no doubt that that would be something that the principal wanted to teach to the students.

If the students of the Heartland Dueling School were to manage to learn Sakaki-sensei's form of entertainment dueling, then there was no doubt that Heartland City's spot as the world's main center of dueling would never be moved.

And it certainly helped that the man's own philosophy of giving people smiles was quite endearing. A sentiment that she believed was shared by most of his students.

Although that does beg a question. "But where did you hear about Sakaki-sensei?" She asked, tilting her head as she looked towards the smaller purple haired girl that trailed behind her. "Although I'm quite sure that the fact that the school was hiring a new teacher isn't a secret, I don't think that most people would know about Sakaki-sensei's entertainment dueling."

"We met someone that's his disciple." The one to answer her question was Serena, who huffed as she turned to look at the buildings around them. "Called himself an entertainment duelist and everything. He was pretty strong, I guess. And he said that he was taught by this Yusho Sakaki person, so we came here." She answered bluntly.

"Sakaki-sense's disciple?" She murmured, a hand on her chin as she absorbed the words that the indigo haired girl had just said. "I didn't know that he had one."

"Ah, apparently he's an unofficial one." Mei interjected, adding onto the information that Serena had given. "From what he said he just learned from watching this Sakaki-san from his performances. That, and he apparently got a few advice from him. He apparently does street performances too."

"Oh! That sounds quite lovely!" She said with a smile. "I would love to meet him. Though probably not anytime soon with the World Duel Carnival just a week away. Everyone is busy with preparing for the preliminaries after all."

"And does that include you?" Serena asked, an eyebrow raised. And she gave her a wry smile as she nodded once more.

"Yes! I'm also joining in of course! But… well. I don't think that I'm going to go far… especially with it being a worldwide event, I doubt that I could even get past the qualifiers." She said with a sad smile, knowing that with her level of dueling, she wouldn't be getting into even the main part of the tournament considering the opponent's that she could possibly be facing.

The downtrodden look didn't stay for long however as she shook her head and held it high as she smiled. "But I'm still going to do my best!" She said, looking at her two friends with determination.

"I might not be as much of a duelist like Onii-sama or Yuto, but I still have my pride as a duelist! So I'm going to give my all!" She said as she raised a hand upwards towards the sky, promising to herself that she would do her best at the upcoming tournament.

"Heh, that's good!" The ponytailed girl said with a hearty grin. "If you won't give it your all in that World Duel Carnival thingy then I would probably be angry at you. Nope, I would definitely be angry at you." She said as she nodded to herself.

And that made the smile that she had waver ever so slightly, and laughed awkwardly. "I-is that so…" She trailed off as she turned slowly to look away from the ponytailed girl, and from the corner of her eye she saw Mei elbowing her once again, much to her dismay.

"Again, sorry for this one's antics." Mei said as she lowered her head apologetically, and getting a scandalous look from the girl in question. She simply giggled and waved off her concerns.

"No, no, it's all fine." She said, and then noticed the buildings that were around them, and slowed her pace ever so slightly. "Ah! We're already here." She said as she gestured towards the building ahead of them.

Unlike most classes which were taken in classrooms, one with a holographic board and rows of seats for students to seat in, the 'classroom' that Sakaki-sensei has chosen to teach in was one of the school's gymnasium. Specifically the Clover Branch gymnasium, the same branch that Sakaki-sensei teaches, though his classes are always open for everyone, regardless of their branch.

Like every other building in Heartland City, and of course the Heartland Dueling School, the dome-like futuristic building that she had taken the two purple haired girls to was a classroom. One that is supposed to be occupied by Sakaki-sensei and the students that he teached on a daily basis.

She gestured for the two behind her to follow, and she opened the gymnasium's double doors to meet the teacher that her friends had wanted to meet.

And she saw a figure in a red coat and black top hat swinging through the air, flying as he was carried hand in hand by his very own signature Ace Monster, and her ears were filled with the cheers of children and students alike.

The solid holographic projection then lets go of the man's hand, and he sailed in the air for several seconds, going through the two golden rings thrown by another one of his monsters, and once more grasping the hands of the Sky Magician that flew alongside him.

And the three of them simply stood there, in front of the open doors. Transfixed to the performance, or rather the entertainment dueling that Sakaki Yusho was performing, before the man snapped his fingers and brought them out of their trance.

"Now, it seems that it is the time for the highlight. Go! Performapal Sky Magician! Sky Magic!" And with the order given, the man lets go of his hand from the flying winged Spellcaster and performing a flip before landing safely on the platform below him, and the flying monster sends out the golden rings in its hands flying towards the blade wielding monster that his opponent had on her field.

"Kyaa!" The girl shouted aloud as she received the damage from the battle, the attack both destroying her monster, and apparently draining her of all of her remaining Life Points as her Life Points went to zero.

Joushi Kousen: 0LP

And with that, the duel ended. The crowd cheered and clapped as Sakaki-sensei took off his top hat and bowed, followed suit by his monsters. And as his monsters slowly disappeared, he walked towards the downed girl, and offered a hand.

"That was some fine dueling. But you were too hasty in using your cards." Sakaki-sensei said to the girl. "It's quite the old philosophy, or rather way of thinking, but you should always think of how to use your cards economically. Card economy is a theory that I've already taught you, haven't I? You might want to read them over again."

And as the girl stared at the top hat wearing man with rapt attention, Sakaki-sensei showed her a glowing smile. "And of course! Don't forget to smile!"

"He… flew." She heard someone next to her say, and she turned and saw Mei muttering in amazement with wide eyes. "That's- he's using solid vision holograms to fly! To actually fly by using the holograms with mass as an anchor to stand on! And he even did tricks while on the air!"

And the purple haired girl grew more animated as she continued, moving her hands erratically as she kept her mouth moving unknowingly. "But that in itself needs high athleticism. Not to mention the precision and knowledge that's needed to virtually command the hologram, all while improvising and doing it all in a real time duel!"

"Amazing." Serena muttered aloud, her own eyes were as wide as dinner plates, having the exact same expression that she herself had when she had first seen Sakaki-sensei's way of dueling.

Looking at the two starstruck girls next to her, she couldn't help but put a hand near her mouth to hide the giggle that came. "It truly is amazing isn't it?" She said aloud, loud enough to snap the two girls out of their stupor.

Mei's face took on a blinding shade of red as she realised that she had been muttering aloud this entire time and tried to hide her features under her purple hat, while Serena simply shrugged it off and took on a feral smile.

And though she had only known her apparent doppelganger for a measly few weeks, she could already tell what the ponytailed girl intended to do. And thus she stopped Serena from rushing in and challenging Sakaki-sensei by grasping her hand, stopping the ribbon wearing girl's rush and almost tripping her in the process.

Regaining her balance in an instance, the indigo haired girl turned and glared at her. But before she could open her mouth and say anything, she motioned a finger on her mouth as she glanced towards Skaki-sensei who was still teaching his students.

"If you go there right now, you'll be intruding in Sakaki-sensei's lesson." She chided her friend. "You're both here to join the lesson and not interrupt it, remember?" She reminded the girl, who still held a scowl towards her.

"And besides." She said, once more glancing towards the students, or rather the large group of children that was encircling the Heartland Dueling School instructor. The children that the man himself had let in to the school grounds in order to spread his way of Entertainment Dueling even wider in Heartland City. "I doubt that those children will take it well if you just suddenly barge in and challenge Sakaki-sensei to a duel."

Serena opened her mouth and raised a finger to argue back, but a glance towards the children clamoring around Sakaki-sensei, and hesitated. The ponytailed girl then lets out a grumble as she lowered her hand, turning her head to look away from her. "Fine. Lets just go." She grumbled out as she started to walk slowly towards the center of the gymnasium.

She let out the giggle that she had tried to hold as she saw the indigo haired girl slowly trail off towards Sakaki-sensei, and she turned to see Mei shaking her head in exasperation. "We should follow her before she makes any more trouble." The smaller girl said, the tiredness clear from her tone of voice.

She simply nodded, and soon the three of them made towards the crowd gathered at the center of the gymnasium turned classroom. And as they neared closer, they could hear Sakaki-sensei's voice loud and clear.

"Now then, why don't we take what we've learned and test them? Each of you find a partner and duel against one another. Try to implement what you've learned earlier and find a way to use your cards to their fullest potential!" The man said with a large smile on his face.

"And of course!" She said loudly, raising a singular finger to catch the attention of everyone that he was teaching. "Don't forget to have fun! The purpose of dueling is to bring smiles and for it to be enjoyed by both duelists, and the audience! As long as you can manage to get a smile out of someone with a duel, then it doesn't matter whether you won or lost!"

With that last bit of advice said, the top hat wearing man spreads both of his arms wide, the wide smile that was on his face mirrored by all of his students who were eager to duel one another. "Now everyone, have fun and duel to your heart's content!"

And with his final words, the group of children scattered, taking places in available dueling spaces of the giant gymnasium and turning their duel disks on. Immediately starting to duel one another just as the teacher had told them to, large smiles and grins on their faces.

And now with Sakaki-sensei no longer being crowded by a swarm of his students, she raised a hand and called out to the teacher. "Sakaki-sensei!" She said aloud, waving her arm as the three of them walked closer to the top hat wearing man.

Hearing his name being called out by what was no doubt a familiar voice, the red coat wearing teacher turned around towards the sound of her voice, and their eyes soon met. The smile on the man's face didn't move as he saw her, if anything it went ever so slightly wider.

"Ruri-kun!" The man called out her name in return. "I am glad that you made it today! I was quite worried that you couldn't make it as you had not shown up earlier." The man said, noticing her late entrance to the class.

She gave the man an apologetic smile, and said her excuse. "I'm sorry about that Sakaki-sensei. I had to go and escort my friends here who said that they wanted to attend your classes earlier." She said, gesturing to the two girls next to her.

"Your friends I see. Well then, allow me to introduce myself. I am-" And as he turned to face her two friends, the man seemed to stop for the briefest of moments, his eyes stuck on the figure of none other than Serena.

And seeing that, she couldn't help but giggle at the man's response of being stunned into silence. She giggled aloud, waving her hand down as she snapped the teacher out of his stupor. "Yes Sakaki-sensei, these are the friends that I mentioned."

She glanced at the ponytailed wearing girl who seemed to take her time in staring back at the Heartland Dueling School's newest teacher, and motioned towards her. "This is Serena. And that's quite honestly the same response that everyone had when we first met really."

"I-I see…" The man seemed to trail off, his eyes moving from herself and her ponytailed friend, no doubt seeing the resemblances that the two of them had, his body seeming tense. "That is… quite the coincidence. For you two to be so… awfully similar."

"She's really the only reason that we're here." The shortest among them said, garnering all their attention as they all turned to the purple cap wearing girl. "I'm Mei, this one's friend." She said, once again elbowing the taller girl in the stomach, and receiving a glare.

That elected a small chuckle from the man, slowly loosening his guard down as he regarded them with a warm smile. "I see. So you're the one who wanted to meet me? Serena-kun was it?"

"Hmph. Yeah, that's my name. I don't need to be introduced by someone else, thank you very much." The indigo haired girl said, sending a glare towards her, and she simply smiled back in response.

"Haha! Quite the feisty one aren't you?" Sakaki-sensei laughed good naturedly, and seemingly ignored the scowl that grew on Serena's face as he then turned his body and spread his right arm outwards gesturing towards the students that he's taken under dueling against one another, while his left hand still holds his trusty cane.

"Well then, we're currently doing 'free training' as I would call it. Where everyone is free to duel each other to essentially test the lesson that they've learned for the day." The man said, and his wide smile turned a bit wry. "Though quite honestly, it's really just the part of the class where I let everyone have fun and just duel."

"Heh, that sounds interesting." Serena said, a wild grin starting to take form on her face. "So since it's the time where we can duel anyone, that means that I can duel against you right?" She declared aloud, cracking her knuckles as she said so.

Receiving the challenge to a duel, Sakaki-sensei merely raised an eyebrow before laughing aloud. "Haha! You really are different from her aren't you?" The man said with a smile, and shook his head.

"You've got quite the spirit Serena-kun!" He said loudly, playfully throwing his cane upwards slightly before catching it with his other hand, and performing a bow. He then raised his head slightly to look at the indigo haired girl in the eye. "Then if it's alright with you, I shall accept your challenge for a duel."

"That's the whole reason we came here!" Serena shouted aloud, placing her duel disk on her left hand and rushing into one of the empty spaces left where they could duel, all while Mei let out a long tired sigh as she followed her to make sure her friend isn't causing anymore trouble, and a laugh escaped from Sakaki-sensei.

She simply giggled at her doppelganger's enthusiasm for dueling. Shaking her head at the girl's antics before taking a long glance at the students doing their best on their duels.

"Hm?" She let out as she blinked several times to make sure that she was not seeing wrong, and did another once over of the gymnasium to assure her suspicion.

"Sakaki-sensei." She called out to the top hat wearing teacher, and he turned and gave her his attention. She took another glance around the room, to ascertain her suspicion and asked her question.

"Is Kaito-san not here today?" She asked, noticing the lack of presence of the older blond haired teen. It was strange not to find him, especially with how he would almost always attend the new teacher's classes, especially with how diligent he is.

The man blinked several times before a small sad smile graced his features. "Ah, Kaito-kun is it?" He started, caressing his goatee. "He contacted me earlier today. It seems that he won't be able to make it for any of the extra classes coming forth due to family matters, something about lending a hand in the preparations for the Heartland Festival."

"Ah, is that so?" She said disheartened at the fact that the upperclassman wouldn't be able to attend more of these classes. "That's a shame. The children really liked to have him to teach them."

"Ruri-kun… that quite hurts to hear as a teacher." The top hat wearing man said with a wry smile, and her eyes widened as she had unintendedly insulted him. She turned to hurriedly give an apology, but the man laughed and waved it off. "It was a joke, Ruri-kun, a joke."

Shaking his head, the teacher then turned and said. "Well then, I'll leave you to your devices then Ruri-kun. I do still have a duel that I need to attend to after all." And with that said, the man started walking to where Serena was waiting, with Mei at her side.

"Well, I do hope that I get to meet the others soon." She muttered under her breath, before shaking her head and trailing behind Sakaki-sensei. Intending to watch the upcoming duel between the teacher and her friend.

"Huff… So. Had enough yet?" She said between harsh breaths, holding her hands on her knees, the energy that she had seeping through her body as exhaustion crept through her body.

She lost the number of times that she had dueled against Anna at this point, both of them trading wins and losses every now and then, all depending on the dice roll and their respective starting hand, along with of course the line of play that they decided to go on.

Certainly doesn't help that both of their decks were both opposing kinds, with her Utopia deck essentially being a deck that makes a board, a go-first control deck that makes negates as one would say, while Anna's was a blind going second deck, one capable of easily making a high attack monster that would dismantle her board.

It certainly didn't make it easier that Anna's deck was basically a constructed level modern train deck, only missing several cards here and there, but otherwise it was a fully modern deck.

Said missing cards were the XYZ Monster that was Number 81: Superdreadnought Rail Cannon Super Dora, and Double Headed Anger Knuckle, other cards that she could possibly run would change her deck from that or Train to pile that was Earth Machine.

Other than that? With the addition of juggernaut Liebe into the pool of cards that the cherry haired girl had to her Extra Deck, her ability to go second had increased exponentially. And it was no wonder that she managed to get several wins under her belt.

Coupled with how her own Utopia deck wasn't exactly constructed quality, what with her best end board being only a Pegasus Twin Saber equipped Leo Utopia Ray, which essentially only meant that she had on field negations.

And though Leo Utopia Ray's spot monster negation that halves an opponent's monster's attack had helped her in some occasion to stop Anna from OTK-ing her in some occasion, and Twin Pegasus Saber's negation being able to negate on resolution meant that it couldn't exactly be responded to, certainly helped in various situation, she had no way of outing one card in Anna's deck, that being none other than Derricrane.

She does of course have something that could technically protect her from that, that being surprisingly Ultimate Dragonic Utopia Ray who can equip a ZW monster from the deck when it is targeted for a card effect, equipping it with something like ZW - Lighting Blade to prevent its destruction once.

In a fully modernized and constructed version of a Utopia deck, there would be a line that would summon ZS - Utopic Sage first in a high roll build, one that could possibly end in what was essentially a 4 material Utopia Dragonar, a card that would cost her entire livestock that she would have if Anna hadn't made her lose them, along with possibly Utopic Draco Future.

But even in a non high roll hand, a fully modern and constructed Utopia deck was capable of making a four material Number 99: Utopia Dragonar along with a ZS - Utopic Sage, an essential playmaker that was essentially full combo if one managed to put three Level 4 monsters on the field.

ZS - Utopic Sage being a generic Rank 4 XYZ Monster who could detach 2 materials from itself to special summon one 'ZW' or 'ZS' monster from the deck, while locking you to only declaring attacks with 'Number' monsters, and locking you to only summon XYZ Monsters from the Extra Deck.

It was essentially a way to get ZS - Ascended Sage onto the field with any two Level 4 monsters, essentially allowing you to use it as a material to summon a Utopia XYZ Monster, and freely search any Rank-Up-Magic from the deck, the preferable target being Hyper Rank-Up-Magic Utopiforce.

But an important tidbit of the card was that ZS - Utopic Sage can protect a 'Utopia' or a 'Utopic' XYZ Monster whose original Attribute is Light from destruction via battle or card effect by banishing the card from the field or graveyard, essentially being an added protection that you can get in your regular combo to getting ZS - Ascended Sage to search for a Rank-Up-Magic.

It was an important card for the combo, one that she would have gotten if a certain someone hadn't gone and slapped all the DP that she needed to buy the card from the Shop out of her hand with a blind going second OTK deck.

Done with her long muse she glanced down tiredly to the cherry haired girl who laid down on her back, she too was breathing harshly out of her mouth. "Darn… it…" Anna said between bated breaths. "I couldn't… get a clean win… streak going…"

"So you wanted to get a win streak…" She said with a bead of sweat going down her head as she stared at the cannon carrying girl, though the girl's cannon was left on the side in its handbag form to not bother them from dueling, sitting right next to her school bag.

"Isn't it fine as it is? You managed to get several wins after all." She said as she sat down on the concrete below, letting out a sigh as she stared at her friend, who merely raised her fist upwards and shouted.

"I wanted to get a win streak darn it! You managed to get a five win streak on me so I wanted to do the same dang it!" She shouted loudly, swinging her raised fist wildy all while she did so.

And once more she gave her friend a deadpan stare as she heard her incredibly childish reason as to have challenged her into what was more or less a marathon of dueling.

She hung her head up as she emptilly stared at the sky above, an incredibly long sigh escaping her mouth. And as she looked towards the setting sun and the orange sky, she soon realized the time that the both of them had spent.

"Ah, it's already really late isn't it?" She said aloud, they certainly had lost time with how they had dueled for who knows how many times, who knows how long.

"Wait seriously?" Anna said as she launched herself from the ground to sit up straight, looking at the duel disk in her left hand to check the time. And immediately her face went pale as the blood seemed to drain from her face.

"AH CRAP! It's this late already?! Mom's gonna kill me!" She shouted loudly, both of her hands clasping her head with a look of terror on her face. Frantically going for her handbag and her school bag, slinging one and the other on her shoulder.

She couldn't stop the amused smile that crept on her face as she saw her friend's actions. Certainly this was a look that she's never seen from Anna, the cherry haired girl was usually wild and uncontrollable after all, to see that she of all people being scared of missing curfew of all things because of her mom of all people was certainly something.

The image that she got of the Kozuki family was certainly something. She couldn't imagine what exactly Anna and Allen's mother was like if she was able to make Anna of all people fear her.

She shook her head as she stood up, dusting off any dust that clung to her clothes as she did so. "I'll keep you company until the station." She said as she stood up straight, tilting her head as she looked at her cherry haired companion. "I need to go there anyway, since my apartment's not that far from there."

"Ah, thanks Yuuna!" She said, clicking a button on the mechanical miracle that was her handbag, and it expanded and turned into the flying marvel that was her hover-bike-cannon hybrid.

And she blinked, a few times, at seeing her pull that. Shakily pointing towards it with a hand. "Eh? Wait? We're not just, walking there? I-it's not that far you know?" She said with a hint of hesitation on her voice.

"Well yeah. But this way is faster!" Anna yelled aloud, taking her by the scruff of her jacket and pulling her onto the hover bike with a loud yelp. "I honestly would've just rode on this back home, but the airspace that I need to take to go there is especially for the train, and taking the slow route would take too long, so we're going with this!" The cherry haired girl shouted aloud.

"Now let's go!" Anna once more shouted, raising her right fist towards the air as she pumped the gas pedal on the hover bike with her draped on what was essentially the 'backseat' of the vehicle that was supposed to be ridden by a single person.

And they took off to the sunset, with her screaming and holding on for her life all the while.

Even after all their duels finished against the trio of Heartland Dueling School dropouts, the three of them still had their guards raised as they encountered the figure that they certainly hadn't thought of seeing today. That of course being none other than the infamous delinquent, Heartland Dueling School's very own Shark.

She's heard rumors about him of course, though she's never seen the teen in person until today as they were in different branches of the school, but the ones that she hears already paints quite the picture.

Shark was one of the strongest duelists in the Heartland Dueling School, basically rivaling that of Anna-san in terms of ferociousness, Kaito-san in terms of tactics, and Yuto-san in terms of dueling skill.

The only reason why it wasn't him who dueled in the platform when their school did their exhibition matches was because he was a no show, doing who knows what instead of actually showing up to do the tournament.

"I guess I should thank you, for beating these idiots and making it easy for me to get my cards back." The dark blue haired teen spoke, glancing towards the three of them with disinterest in his eyes.

She gulped, hearing the words that came from one of the scariest duelists in Heartland City. But at the very least he was amicable, if they can go away from this without a confrontation then that would probably be the best outcome.

But of course, Allen had to just open his big mouth. "You think we're just gonna let you get away with those cards!" He shouted, his hand forming a fist as he glared at the dark blue eyed teen.

Shark stared at the brown haired boy, and his mouth moved ever so slightly upwards, clearly amused by the statement that Allen had just said. "Really?" He said, hiding a chuckle. "And who's going to stop me?"

The teen then proceeded to point towards the third member of their trio, and said with a grin. "You and that girl who's already on her last legs?"

And right as he finished saying so, she saw Sayaka's legs go limp. The glasses wearing girl loses all the strength to stand and falls to her knees.

"Sayaka!?"

"Sayaka!"

Both she and Allen cried out as they saw the lilac haired girl fell, and both immediately attended to their friend, all the while Allen kept sending glares that would bore through steel towards Shark.

"I-I'm fine." The girl said, trying to assure her friends with a strained smile on her face, and sending a wary glance back towards Shark who still held his smirk. "I-I'm just tired. That's all."

She glanced at her brown haired companion, and saw how he was clearly conflicted. He could either let Shark go away with taking cards that were rightfully his and let him continue doing whatever it is that he does and attend to Sayaka, or confront the dark blue haired teen and leave their glasses wearing friend alone.

She knew what Sayaka said was no doubt true. It wasn't like she was hurt or anything of the sort, in fact she had finished her duel with her Life Points still pristine, not even letting a single hit landing on her during the previous duel, if anything she was simply just mentally exhausted.

And that was no doubt, their own fault. After all, they had spent the entire morning in school attending their classes in their respective branches, and kept going and dueled for who knows how many times to test out the new cards that Yuuna-san had given to them.

All of that, combined with the last duel where she had to face a former classmate of hers, ones who somehow had their eerily similar but different Number cards that Yuuna-san also has, no doubt stressed the kind glasses wearing girl, especially seeing how the ones that they had defeated lay unconscious on the ground after they had lost their duel. As if the backlash from the attacks of the solid vision was far more real than they should be.

"Allen." Sayaka called out, catching their attention back towards her. And she gave her a bright smile, one that was no doubt sent to simply assure them that she was fine. "I'm fine. Go do what you think is right."

And Allen's face scrunched even more, his eyes repeatedly moving back and forth from the teen that had stolen back his cards from the unconscious bodies of his former subordinates, and the lilac haired girl that was on her knees right next to him.

"Tch. How boring." They heard Shark say, his head turned away from them, as if he was refusing to see Sayaka in her moment of weakness. "I already did what I needed to do anyway. I'll let you all off for today."

Then the dark blue haired teen turned and started walking away, his ominous threat of 'letting them all off for today' hang in the air as they merely stared at his retreating back.

And she thought that that would be the end of their encounter with the infamous Shark. With them defeating his lackeys who went against him, and with him leaving them free to their devices. In a way, it was a win-win for both sides.

But then Allen just had to stand up and one again, open his mouth.

"Stop right there!" He shouted loudly, standing straight with his eyes burning with determination, glaring right at the back of Shark.

And as she stared dumbly at the brown haired boy whose actions she could not believe with her own two eyes as he activated his duel disk, a clear challenge for a duel, the dark blue haired teen stopped his feet as he turned and sent a scowl towards Allen's way.

"Even after that, you still want to duel me?" He said with an abyssal scowl, one that sent a shiver down her spine. "Fine. Have it your way. I'll show you just what exactly it was that you're messing with." He said ominously, stretching his left arm and activating his duel disk.

"Heh, that's exactly what I wanted!" Allen shouted back, though she saw a bead of sweat roll down his face. Clearly, though he was brave enough to stand up to the infamous delinquent, he still had his doubts of defeating him.

And that was clear, though they had certainly gotten stronger and more knowledgeable about the game thanks to the tutoring of Yuuna and the cards that she had given to them, it was still a fact that Shark was still stronger than them. Such was clear by the fact that they themselves had never managed to defeat Anna-san, a duelist equal on Shark's level.

Though some could argue that too was because of her own training and the new cards that she had obtained, the same could be said for the dark blue haired teen in front of them, as he himself had gotten his hands on those Number cards that were similar to Yuuna-san's own.

There was no way that Allen could defeat him, especially not alone.

So she sent an apologetic glance towards Sayaka, who merely responded back with a kind smile, the lilac haired girl taking her hand into her own for a brief moment. "Good luck." She said as she sent her off.

It took her a moment, but she kept her smile as she nodded back to Sayaka. And without further ado, she then stood up and walked beside her idiotic buffoon that she calls her friend, and activated her own duel disk.

"Myu!? What are you-"

"Oh shut up Allen." She cut him off before he could say anything. "You're the one to pull us into this mess, so make sure that you get us out of it you idiot." And she saw how he sent a glance back towards Sayaka, who was now sitting on the side with a hand on her head, watching over them worriedly.

"She's fine." She said, snapping him back to focus. "Like she said, she's just exhausted. So just focus on winning so that we can all go back home safe and sound." And though that declaration made the scowl on Shark's face twitch and go down even more, she still kept steady and glared back at the dark blue haired teen.

The brown haired boy seemed to stare at her in astonishment, before the grin that he was more known to have returned on his face. "Yeah!" He shouted, his usual high level of confidence returning to him.

"A two on one then huh?" Shark muttered aloud, and proceeded to scoff, the scowl never leaving his features. "It doesn't matter if you two worked together. There's no way that you chumps would beat me!"

And the duel then began.

""DUEL!""

Allen Kozuki Myu Chiyoda: 8000LP

Ryoga Kamishiro: 8000LP

"I'll go first!" Allen roared, taking the initiative as he chose to go first out of the three of them, the brown haired boy only glancing at the cards that he had on his hand before immediately deciding on the plays that he would be doing for his turn.

"I'll activate the Continuous Spell, Heavy Forward!" Allen declared, slamming the card onto his duel disk's duel blade, and the holographic projection of the card appeared on his side of their field, shining as it was activated.

"When Heavy Forward's activated, I get to add an Infinitrack from my deck to my hand!" The poncho wearing boy explained as he took out a monster card straight from his deck, revealing it for them all to see. "I'll be adding Infinitrack Harvester from my deck straight to my hand!"

The action elected a frown from their dark blue haired opponent, as he saw how Allen added what might as well be a starter for his plays straight from his deck with a card activation. She would be too, if he wasn't on her side. The amount of 'consistency' as Yuuna calls it that Allen's deck has is quite enviable. One that her own deck doesn't have with the amount of 'bricks' that she has to run to facilitate her strategy.

He then immediately slammed the card onto his duel blade. "And I'll normal summon it!" And with the card placed on the duel blade, the monster's holographic projection appeared, taking the form of a futuristic combine harvester, one with a bright golden colour with blue accents, and enlarged to a degree.

Infinitrack Harvester - Earth/Machine/Level 2/Effect: 0/2100

"And now Harvester's effect!" Allen declared out loud. "If it's summoned I get to add one other 'Infinitrack' monster from my deck except a copy of itself! I'll add Infinitrack Brutal Dozer from my deck to my hand!"

And saying so, the brown haired boy revealed another card that he will be adding from his deck to his hand, and then proceeded to shuffle it with the other four cards that he has in his hand.

Shark was now frowning. Seeing the high level of consistency that the poncho wearing Earth Machine deck user had made the dark blue haired boy unconsciously raise his guard ever so slightly, no longer taking the boy as a mere obstacle, but as a proper opponent. Watching his plays carefully.

"And now I'll activate the effect of Infinitrack Brutal Dozer!" Allen declared loudly, revealing the card that he had just searched with the on summon effect of Harvester. "I can tribute one Earth Machine monster, and special summon this card from my hand in defence position!"

Motioning towards the one monster on their side of the field, Allen declared the name of the monster that he would tribute for the cost of summoning the monster in his hand. "I'll tribute Infinitrack Harvester on my field, and summon Infinitrack Brutal Dozer!"

With practiced ease, the brown haired boy took the monster card on his field and sent it to his duel disk's graveyard, and he then slammed the monster card on his hand to the duel blade. And the gigantic metallic grey dozer appeared on their side of the field, its colour accented by the shining light purple colours that decorated the Machine Monster.

Infinitrack Brutal Dozer - Earth/Machine/Level 5/Effect: 1900/2100

"Then Brutal Dozer's effect!" Allen declared with a grin, continuing off with his combo line. "If this guy's special summoned from my hand, I can special summon an 'Infinitrack' monster from my deck in defence position!"

Shark's eyes went wide ever so slightly, and even she who had test dueled against the new iteration of Allen's deck still felt her eyes twitch at the monster's effect. Though it doesn't summon two monsters from the deck like her Rescue Rabbit, it allowed him to essentially get any monster from his deck onto the field, and not run Normal Monsters in his deck unlike her.

The brown haired boy then took out a card from his deck with one swift motion, and revealed it for their opponent to see. "I'll special summon Infinitrack Trencher from my deck in defence position!"

And he then placed the card onto his duel blade, and the gigantic saw carrying mechanical trencher appeared on his side of the field beside the giant dozer. Coloured bright green with lime accent, the gigantic saw spun as the monster appeared on the field.

Infinitrack Trencher - Earth/Machine/Level 5/Effect: 500/2400

"Two Level 5 monsters." Shark muttered lowly, his eyes narrowing and composure slowly regained as he saw Allen managed to assemble two Level 5 monsters on his side of the field. "And XYZ, and only from one card…"

"Since it's summon with Brutal Dozer's effect, its effects are negated. And I can't special summon other than Earth Machines." Allen added, explaining the restriction that was put on the newly summoned monster, along with his 'summon lock' as Yuuna refers to it as.

"But that doesn't matter!" The poncho wearing boy shouted aloud, waving his right arm forward towards the two monsters on his field. "Cuz I'll overlay the Level 5 Infinitrack Brutal Dozer and the Level 5 Infinitrack Trencher!"

And with his rams raised, the two gigantic machine monstrosities on Allen's field turned into glowing brown motes of lights. The two crisscrossed one another as they entered the galactical whirlpool that appeared in the middle of the field.

"With these two monsters, I'll make an overlay network! XYZ Summon!" With the brown haired boy's declaration, the galactical whirlpool exploded into a bright pillar of light, and soon dissipated to reveal the form of Allen's newly acquired XYZ Monster.

"Run them over! Infinitrack River Stromer!" The poncho wearing heavy machinery duelist declared as he summoned his new Boss Monster of choice, and the tri cannoned red and black metal grey futuristic machinery appeared on their field. Two brown orbs of lights orbiting around the monster acting as its overlay material.

Infinitrack River Stormer - Earth/XYZ/Machine/Rank 5/Effect: 2500/500 OV: 2

"Now I'll activate River Stormer's effect!" Allen immediately declared, activating the effect of the monster that he had just summoned. "I'll detach an overlay material, to take an Earth Machine monster, and either add it to my hand or send it to the graveyard!"

Explaining the XYZ Monster's effect of even more consistency boosting, essentially acting as both the archetype's Extra Deck version of Reinforcement of the Army and Foolish Burial in one card, the gigantic futuristic machine used one of its two overlay materials.

Infinitrack River Stormer - Earth/XYZ/Machine/Rank 5/Effect: 2500/500 OV: 1

And with the cost of the monster's effect paid, the brown haired boy declared his target for the XYZ Monster's effect. "I'll take Infinintrack Drag Shovel, and send it to the grave!" He declared.

With that said and done, Allen revealed a monster that fits the category listed on River Stormer, and proceeded to send it from his deck to the graveyard. But that was of course not the end of his turn. "Then Infinitrack Trencher's effect!"

"Trencher?" Shark muttered the card's name, and narrowed his eyes as he saw the XYZ Monster with a missing overlay material. "So the one detached was-"

"You got that right! It was Trencher!" The poncho wearing boy said with a grin. "I can banish Trencher from the grave to target a Level 5 or lower 'infinitrack' monster in my grave except another copy of it, and special summon it in defence position!"

Done with explaining the monster's graveyard effect, Allen proceeded to banish it to pay for its cost, and then declared the target that he would summon from the graveyard with said effect. "I'll target Infinitrack Drag Shovel, and summon it!"

Receiving no form of resistance or interruption from their shared opponent, Allen then proceeded to summon the monster onto their side of the field, the gigantic futuristic shoveler appearing in defence position.

Infinitrack Drag Shovel - Earth/Machine/Level 5/Effect: 1500/2100

"Drag Shovel's effect!" The boy continued on with his long line of combo, waving his right hand forward towards the mechanical gigantic shovel in front of him. "I can banish a Machine monster from my grave to add one 'Spin Turn' from my deck to my hand!"

And though their opponent mouthed the name of the card that Allen would specifically be adding from his deck to his hand, the poncho wearing duelist ignored him and proceeded to take the card out from his deck and reveal it.

"I'll banish Harvester, to add the Trap, Spin Turn to my hand!" And then proceeded to add the card to his hand, shuffling it along with the other four cards that still remained in his hand after all that line of play.

"Then I'll set two cards face-down, and end my turn." And after all of that, Allen then proceeded to end his turn. Ending with an XYZ Monster and another of his Machine monsters on the field, along with two set cards, and three cards still remaining in his hand.

"All of that just from a single card…" Shark muttered with narrowed eyes as he stared at the board that Allen had managed to construct. "Everything other than one of those trap cards comes from a single card… there's no wonder that those idiots couldn't beat you."

"Heh, you got that right!" Her brown haired partner shouted loudly with a grin. But the playful look that the boy had then turned into a serious one. "And don't think that we can just do that! We'll beat you too! You'll see!" He said, pointing towards their dark blue haired opponent.

In response to Allen's bold and brazen declaration, Shark simply snorted, holding a hand ip to cover his mouth as he started shaking. "Pfft, you seriously think that?" The older duelist said, not even trying to hold his laugh.

Then he shook his head as he regained his composure, an assured smile still on his face as he raised his left hand up. "Then you better entertain me. My turn! Draw!" And with that declaration, their opponent drew their card for turn, starting off with six cards in his hand.

"I'll start off by normal summoning Saber Shark!" And saying so, the older duelist placed a card onto his own duel blade, and appearing on his side of the field was a purple shark with a giant blade sticking out of the front of its head, the monster swimming in the air as if it was water.

Saber Shark - Water/Fish/Level 4/Effect: 1600/1200

"And since I control a Water Monster, I can special summon Silent Anglerfrom my hand!" Shark said aloud, revealing another monster card in his hand and then special summoning it as its effect resolves.

And beside the saber headed shark emerged another Fish monster summoned straight from Shark's hand, taking the form of a monstrous sea angler, one with jaws decorated with vicious sharp marine blue teeth. With no other downside coming from special summoning the monster from the hand.

Silent Angler - Water/Fish/Level 4/Effect: 800/1400

"Two Level 4 monsters already!" Allen said through gritted teeth as he saw Shark easily assemble two monsters onto the field. "So you're planning to make a Rank 4 monster!"

And Shark snorted at seeing her partner's reaction. "You really think that?" He asked condescendingly, and then waved his hand forwards to the saber headed shark in front of him. "Saber Shark's effect!" He declared.

"I can target one Fish Monster on the field and either reduce or increase its Level by one! But for the rest of this turn, I can't special summon any monster but Water Monsters." Shark explained the monster effect, revealing that his deck was focused on Water monsters as his namesake implied, and then chose the target for its effect.

"I'll target Saber Shark, and reduce its Level by one!" And with that declaration, the saber headed shark roared, and its Level then dropped by a single star, reducing it from four to three.

Saber Shark - Water/Fish/Level 3/Effect: 1600/1200

The move confused the both of them of course, as now Shark does not have two monsters with the same Level that he could use for an XYZ Summon. Instead he has a Level 3 and a Level 4 monster respectively. "Why did he-"

"And I'll activate its effect again!" The dark blue haired duelist said with a wide grin, not letting her finish her sentence. "This time, I'll target Silent Angler and reduce its Level by one!"

And they saw with wide eyes as the saber headed shark let out another roar, and used its Level modulation effect of the other Water monster that was on Shark's side of the field. And turned both of their Levels to 3.

Silent Angler - Water/Fish/Level 3/Effect: 800/1400

"Wha-! That effect isn't a once per turn!" Allen shouted with wide eyes in alarm.

"Two Level 3 monsters!" She hissed, glancing back at Allen as they saw Shark managing to gather up two monsters of the same Level thanks to the level modulation gimmick of Saber Shark, but the brown haired boy shook his head, signalling that he wouldn't be activating Spin Turn just yet.

She frowned, but gave her partner a nod back. Knowing that from this line of thought, Allen must probably be waiting for him to summon the XYZ Monster, or something of the sort, most likely thinking that Shark must still have some way of summoning whatever XYZ he has on his Extra Deck if he was to simply just pop one of the two monsters currently on his field.

"Hmph, not activating whatever those set cards are huh. Well it won't matter anyway." Shark mused, that self confident grin still on his face. "I'll take the now Level 3 Saber Shark, and the Level 3 Silent Angler, and overlay them!

The two Water monsters on their opponent's side of the field then let out their respective roars, turning into two motes of dark blue light and crisscrossing with one another. "I'll take these two monsters, and make an overlay network with them!"

And with that declaration, a galactical spiral of black and gold appeared once more on the middle of the field, and the two glowing dark blue orbs entered it as it appeared. "XYZ Summon!"

Shark raised his right hand upwards towards the sky, and the vortex then exploded into a glowing light. And a strange mark then glowed on the back of the dark blue haired then glowed ominously as he grinned.

"Come! Number 17!" He shouted as he XYZ Summoned a monster, and a strange heart shaped blue monster appeared, and it started to uncoil itself at Shark's behest. "Leviathan Dragon!"

And the now revealed serpentine dragon appeared, uncurling its six wings and letting out an ear ripping scream as the monster was summoned by its proper owner, staring at the both of them menacingly as the mark on its right horn shone.

Number 17: Leviathan Dragon - Water/XYZ/Dragon/Rank 3/Effect: 2000/0 OV: 2

She was left staring at the newly summoned XYZ Monster that was on Shark's side of the field, a shiver of fear going down her spine as she saw the monster glare down and her, and snapped her head towards her partner.

And saw that he was glaring back, with a bead of sweat running down the side of his head. The brown haired boy caught her glance and thought for a split second, before shaking his head once more.

"That Number monster, it's the one that that guy used against Sayaka." Allen muttered, loud enough for her to hear his explanation. "That thing can't be destroyed by battle by anything but a Number monster, yeah?" He said, staring towards their opponent.

"Hmph, so you already know huh." Shark said with a grin on his face. "It's expected, you did already win against one after all. But don't expect that this will end the same way."

She could only nod back slowly, knowing where the poncho wearing duelist was coming from. After all, the set card that he had searched through the line of his combo, Spin Turn, did have its downsides.

It was, barring the other set card that Allen had set, his one searchable form of interaction. And essentially the main core of the strategy that he head built for himself should he go first in a duel. Something that he came up with earlier through their test duels along with input from the others, even if the boy did want to just learn how to play the deck just by himself.

Spin Turn was a trap that allowed him to target an Earth Machine XYZ Monster that he controls in attack position along with a monster that the opponent controls, and change the XYZ Monster to defence in order to destroy the other target.

And having dueled against the boy to test out this exact strategy, she knew that the boy would patiently wait until some sort of opening could be seen from the plays that Shark would perform. Most likely intending on firing the trap as soon as he goes into the Battle Phase.

"Now I'll use the effect of XYZ Remora in my hand!" The dark blue haired duelist declared aloud, revealing another card in his hand whose effect he would be activating. Showing the card that seemed to depict a green hammer headed shark of some sorts.

"I can special summon this card from my hand by detaching two materials from monsters that I control!" He declared aloud, and then waved his right arm towards the only XYZ Monster that he controlled.

"I'll detach the two overlay units that Number 17: Leviathan Dragon has, and summon XYZ Remora from my hand!" Shouting so, the serpentine dragon on Shark's side of the field lets out a roar, the two dark blue orbs of energy that orbited the dragon disappearing as they were paid as cost for the summon of the monster.

Number 17: Leviathan Dragon - Water/XYZ/Dragon/Rank 3/Effect: 2000/0 OV: 0

"You're detaching all of your XYZ Monster's overlay units to summon a single monster?!" She said in aghast as she saw the play that their upperclassman was performing, quite honestly confused at why he would do so.

"Heh, you'll see!" Shark said with a grin as he then placed the monster card on his duel blade, and the dark green fish that seemed to resemble more of a hammerhead shark rather than a remora then appeared onto the field, swimming in the air as if it was water.

XYZ Remora - Water/Fish/Level 4/Effect: 800/800

"And now XYZ Remora's effect!" The teen said with a vicious grin. "When summoned this way, I can target 2 Level 4 Fish monsters in my graveyard, and special summon them in defence position!"

With his right arm raised, the Shark based duelist shouted his targets loudly. "Return! Saber Shark! Silent Angler!" And with their names called, and the green hammer headed shark swirling in the air, the two detached materials of the XYZ Monster were returned onto the field.

Saber Shark - Water/Fish/Level 4/Effect: 1600/1200

Silent Angler - Water/Fish/Level 4/Effect: 800/1400

They could only watch wide eyes as Shark managed to assemble three Level 4 monsters, and she saw Allen scowling at the move that Shark had done, quite possibly regretting not immediately using Spin Turn the very moment he had summoned Leviathan Dragon.

"And with Saber Shark back he can just modulate his monsters Level-!"

"Hmph, I'll just tell you that I can't do that." The dark blue haired duelist said with a huff at her remark. "The monsters summoned with the effect of XYZ Remora have their effects negated, and can't attack or change their battle positions. And they can only be used as materials for the XYZ Summon of a Water Monster."

And the grin on his face soon returned. "Which is what I'm going to do now!" He said with a wide grin, once again raising his right arm high towards the sky. "I'll overlay the Level 4 XYZ Remora, the Level 4 Saber Shark, and the Level 4 Silent Angler!"

The two of them watched as Shark took all three Level 4 monsters that he had on his field, and Overlaid them all. All three of them turned into dark blue motes of lights that criss-crossed one another as they entered the black and golden galactical vortex that, for the third time, appeared in the center of the field.

"I'll make another overlay network with all three of these monsters! XYZ Summon!" And with that declaration as the three motes of lights completely entered the galactical vortex, it erupted into a blinding golden explosion of light.

"Deep sea emperor who holds the greatest power! Bite everything into pieces with your fangs!" The teen shouted out his chant, and brought down his raised hand as he then completed said chant.

"Come forth, Number 32!" Shark shouted once again, and a different marking shone on the back of his right hand, one similar to that of the number 32. "Marine Biting Dragon - Shark Drake!"

And from the depths of the galactical black and golden vortex came a new XYZ Monster, one taking the form of a monstrous bipedal sea creature with giant wing-like fins on its back, and sharp long claws. The number 32 shone on the monster's left chest as its maw opened to let out a ground shaking roar.

Number 32: Shark Drake - Water/XYZ/Sea Serpent/Rank 4/Effect: 2800/2100 OV: 3

"Another Number! And one that we haven't even seen before!" Allen noted, remembering the two Number monsters that they had fought against those three former followers of the teen in front of them. Could this be the one Number's monster that her opponent hadn't managed to summon?

"To think that I would even need to summon this one… I intended to save this monster until the Heartland Festival, but I didn't expect to use it against someone just like you." Shark then muttered aloud, all but disapproving her theory before she could even say it aloud.

"Then I won't even let you have the chance to use it!" Allen shouted aloud, with his fist raised to his chest. And then he waved his arm outwards. "I'll flip up my set card! Spin Turn!" The brown haired boy declared loudly.

And the first card that he had set for his turn was then flipped up, revealing it to be the Trap card that he had searched over the long line of his combo. "So you're finally using it huh!" Shark shouted back with a grin, eager, yet wary of the card that the brown haired boy was using during his turn.

"You bet I am! Spin Turn can let me target an Earth Machine XYZ Monster I have in attack position and one monster you control, and change my monster's battle position to destroy yours!" Allen shouted aloud as he waved his right arm out, and declared the targets for the Trap card's effect.

"I'll target my Infinitrack River Stromer that's in attack position, and change it to defence, to target and destroy your Number 32: Shark Drake!" And with a wave of his right arm accompanying his shout, the one XYZ Monster on their side of their field was turned into defence position, and from its three cannons it shot its salvo towards the red skinned winged Sea Serpent monster.

Shark Drake lets out a roar as its form slowly dissipates into motes of light, a cloud of dust filling the space where the monster once stood after its body was hit with the effect of Spin Turn and was destroyed. "Shark Drake!" Shark shouted in surprise.

"Alright!" Her partner cheered as he pumped a fist, a grin on his face as he managed to destroy the monster that Shark had used three monsters for its XYZ Summon, leaving him with only an XYZ Monster without any overlay materials on it.

But as she saw their dark blue haired opponent, she saw the rage and anger that filtered through the teen's eyes. One that was shown on his face by the large scowl that he now holds.

"You-! Tch! How annoying." Shark said with a click of his tongue, anger clearly seen as his reaction to how his newly summoned XYZ Monster managed to be outed right just as it was summoned. "Fine then." He said with narrowed eyes.

And the dark haired boy then waved his arm towards the side, and opened his mouth to speak once more. "I'll take the Rank 3 Number 17: Leviathan Dragon, and overlay it!" He shouted aloud, and the giant dragonic serpent roared as its body glowed and turned back to its inert state.

"Wha-! Another XYZ Summon?!" She shouted in alarm as she saw Shark one again used his XYZ monster as an overlay material, not even knowing what kind of monster that the teen would summon.

"I'll reconstruct the overlay network using Leviathan Dragon!" He shouted aloud as the dark blue orb that was Leviathan Dragon once again re-entered the vortex of black and gold, and exploded into a pillar of light.

"Full Armor XYZ! Dress for battle! Full Armored Black Ray Lancer!" And with a raised hand and a shout, a whole new monster appeared from the galactical vortex. Taking the form of a black armor clad monster with large wing-like pauldrons, the monster stood proudly in front of its master.

Full Armored Black Ray Lancer - Water/XYZ/Beast-Warrior/Rank 4/Effect: 2100/600 OV: 1

"Full Armor XYZ…" She muttered as she stared amazed at the monster that Shark had summoned onto his field. "It's just like a Rank Up without needing even a Spell! Just like Yuuna's Chaos XYZ Change!"

"But that's a Rank 4!" Allen shouted loudly, angrily pointing at the monster that Shark had just summoned onto his field. "You can't just summon it on top of a Rank 3 monster!"

"Hmph. Full Armored Black Ray Lancer can be XYZ Summoned using a Rank 3 Water XYZ Monster that I control that has no XYZ Material." The dark blue haired teen said, explaining the XYZ Monster's alternate summoning condition.

"And since he used XYZ Remora on Number 17: Leviathan Dragon, it could fulfil that summoning condition." She muttered with wide eyes, quite honestly impressed at the amount of forethought that the older teen had put for his plays.

"And Full Armored Black Ray Lancer's effect!" Shark declared aloud. "This card gains 200 attack for each material attached to it!" The boy said, explaining the monster's attack boosting effect, and the armored monster was then surrounded by a dark blue hue as its attack raised slightly.

Full Armored Black Ray Lancer - Water/XYZ/Beast-Warrior/Rank 4/Effect: 2300/600 OV: 1

"Now battle!" Shark declared loudly, waving his right arm outwards as he went on towards the Battle Phase. "I'll attack your Infinitrack River Stromer with Full Armored Black Ray Lancer! Gleaming Spear Slash!"

And with that declaration, the armored Water XYZ Monster reached out towards the center of its armour, the dark glowing gem in its chest, and from it it generated a giant dark spear of energy. Then the monster leapt.

Heaving the dark spear high above its apparent head, the XYZ Monster swung down its weapon. And as its battle position was changed due to the effect of Spin Turn, the attack managed to destroy its target, that being none other than Infinitrack River Stromer.

"Kuh!" Allen said as he flinched at seeing his own XYZ Monster getting destroyed in battle. Lowering the hands that he had put up to defend himself from the gust of wind that the solid holograms made upon impact, but thankfully they didn't receive any battle damage.

"Now Full Armored Black Ray Lancer's effect!" Shark shouted aloud, waving his hand to gesture towards his XYZ Monster. "When it destroys an opponent's monster by battle, I can target one Spell ot Trap that you control, and destroy it!"

Done with explaining the monster's effect, the dark blue haired duelist then pointed towards the one card that still remained in their backrow. "I'll target your set card, and destroy it!" Shouting so, the Water XYZ Monster hefted its spear, and poised to throw it.

"Allen!" She shouted aloud, and her partner of course already knew what he should do at this point.

"Tch! Shut up! I already know! I'll activate the set card! Crusher Run!" He said, flipping up the face-down set card, and revealing it to be a Continuous Trap. "With this card, if a face-up Earth Machine we control is destroyed by battle or card effect, we get to target a card on the field and destroy it!"

And that said, the brown haired boy shouted the name of the one target that was on Shark's field. "I'll target your Full Armor whats its name and destroy it!" He said aloud, and the Continuous Trap card's holographic projection shone as what seemed to be a gigantic bulldozer briefly materialized onto the field, intending to crush down the monster of Allen's choice.

"Tch! Full Armored Black Ray Lancer's other effect!" The older teen shouted out. "If this card on the field would be destroyed by battle or card effects, I can detach all materials that this card has instead!"

The gigantic armored XYZ Monster took its one overlay material that it had and absorbed it into itself, then twirled its spear as it cut through the gigantic dozer that came towards it. Managing to prevent its own destruction at the cost of its one overlay unit, and reducing the attack that it had.

And the chain then resolved backwards, as the Water XYZ Monster then threw its energy spear and pierced their now face-up Continuous Trap, destroying it in sequence as the chain of effects then ended.

Shark then clicked his tongue as he saw that he hadn't quite managed to clear the board, and proceeded to his second Main Phase. "I'll set two cards face-down, and I'll end my turn." And he then promptly ended his turn. Ending with an XYZ Monster with no materials nor protection, two set cards in his backrow, and a single card remaining in his hand.

Allen gave her a look before she nodded. "My turn! I draw!" She said, placing her hand on her duel disk and drawing for turn. Starting off with six cards in her hand just like Shark had earlier.

She glanced at the cards that she had in her hand for a good few seconds, stopping herself from frowning as she saw a dead card in the form of Unexpected Dai. A card that she couldn't use with Infinitrack Drag Shovel on their shared field.

And though that turns off the Normal Monster part of her deck and makes it slightly harder for her to summon her own XYZ Monster, she still has her ways of doing so. "I'll start by activating the Spell, Evo-Diversity!"

And placing the Spell card onto her duel blade, its holographic projection appeared and shone on the field. She hadn't quite understood why Yuuna had told her to put as many copies of these kinds of cards that searches other cards at the start, but after a lengthy explanation of consistency and deck thinning later, she perfectly understood why the red haired girl had suggested that she ran three of these cards along with Fossil Dig.

"Evo-Diversity lets me add an 'Evoltile' or 'Evolsaur' monster from my deck to my hand! I'll add Evoltile Najasho from my deck to my hand!" She said, naming her target of choice and revealing it to their opponent, before adding the card to her hand.

"And I'll special summon it!" Then she immediately summoned the added monster, and it took the form of a small grey snake-like creature with small wings on its back, ferociously hissing at the large XYZ Monster at their opponent's side of the field.

Evoltile Najasho - Fire/Reptile/Level 2/Effect: 100/2000

"A Level 2 monster with 100 attack and 2000 defence?" Shark muttered, narrowing his eyes warily as she wasted her normal summon on what seemed to be a weak monster. "With a defence like that it would be better to summon it in defence but… a combo then." He summarized.

"Well you're right! I'll activate the Spell, Evo-Force!" And she then activated another card in her hand, placing it onto the duel blade and making its larger holographic counterpart appear.

"This card lets me tribute an 'Evoltile' monster to special summon an 'Evolsaur' monster from my deck! And that monster is then treated as if it was special summoned by the effect of an 'Evoltile' monster!" She shouted aloud, explaining the card's effect and declaring to pay the cost.

"I'll tribune my Evoltile Najasho as cost!" She said aloud, tributing and sending her normal summoned Evoltile Najasho to the graveyard as the cost for the Spell card's effect. "And I'll special summon Evolsaur Diplo from my deck in defence position!"

Taking the monster card from her deck, she immediately then summoned the monster onto her field, and the spiky armored purple diplodocus appeared onto their side of the field in defense position, summoned as if it was special summoned with the effect of an Evoltile monster.

Evolsaur Diplo - Fire/Dinosaur/Level 4/Effect: 1600/800

"Now Evolsaur Diplo's effect!" She declared, triggering the effect of the monster that she had special summoned with her spell's effect. "When Evolsaur Diplo is special summoned by the effect of an 'Evoltile' monster, I can target one spell or trap card that you control, and destroy it!" She explained the first monster's effect, declaring its target first.

"I'll target your leftmost set card!" She said, declaring the target for the monster's effect. "And I'll also chain the effect of Evoltile Najasho in my graveyard!" She continued, triggering the two monsters' effects in sequence as to not miss any of their timing, something that Yuuna had drilled into her when dealing with 'when' effects.

"If this card on the field is tributed, I can special summon one 'Evolsaur' monster from my deck!" She explained the monster's graveyard effect, one that activated if it was tributed from the field.

And the effects then resolved, and she resolved the effect of Najasho first as it was the last card on the chain of effects. "I'll special summon Evolsaur Cerato from my deck in attack position!"

She took out the card straight from her deck, and then played the ceratosaurus-like monster onto her field, its armored and spiked body appearing onto the field as the solid holographic projection appeared.

Evolsaur Cerato - Fire/Dinosaur/Level 4/Effect: 1900/1400

"And since Evolsaur Cerato was summoned with the effect of an Evoltile monster, it gains an additional 200 attack points." She said, and her newly summoned Evolsaur Cerato gained a bright orange aura as its attack was boosted thanks to its own effect.

Evolsaur Cerato - Fire/Dinosaur/Level 4/Effect: 2100/1400

Then the chain continued to resolve backwards, and with the effect of Evolsaur Diplo, one of the two set cards in Shark's backrow was then destroyed, revealing that it was the Trap card, Fish Depth Charge.

She frowned as she touched her duel disk's screen to read the effect of the card that she had set, and proceeded to read its effect to essentially do something similar to Allen's own Spin Turn, but with fundamental differences of course, as it tributes a fish monster to destroy a card on the field and drawing them a card, as opposed to how Spin Turn's effects being dependent on the battle position of an Earth Machine XYZ monster.

Done with reading the destroyed Trap card's effect, she continued on. "Now I'll overlay the Level 4 Evolsaur Diplo, and the Level 4 Evolsaur Cerato!" She shouted aloud, and the two Fire Dinosaurs on her field roared as they turned into bright red motes of light, criss crossing one another, and a black and gold vortex appeared in the middle of the field.

"With these two monsters, I will construct an overlay network!" And as she shouted so with a raised hand, the two flaming orbs entered the galactical vortex. "XYZ Summon!" And it then exploded into a golden pillar of light.

"Appear! Evolzar Laggia!" And shouting out the name of the monster and finishing the simple summoning chant, the monster then appeared after a flare of fire, the six winged Dragon monster, surrounded by a green aura and lines of fire, along with two glowing red orbs orbiting the monster appeared on the field. Letting out a loud roar as it was summoned.

Evolzar Laggia - Fire/XYZ/Dragon/Rank 4/Effect: 2400/2000 OV: 2

But that was sadly as much as she could go into for this phase of her turn. "Battle!" She declared aloud, waving her arms outwards and entering the Battle Phase. "I will attack your Full Armored Black Ray Lancer with Evolzar Laggia!"

And with a roar and a beat of all its six wings, the ring of fire surrounded the dragonic XYZ monster spun faster, and became a pillar of fire that was then shot towards the fully armoured XYZ Monster, an attack that would no doubt destroy it now that it has no more protection.

"Tch!" And all that Shark could do was click his tongue and hold both of his hands up to defend himself from the gust of wind that the clash of solid vision created. His XYZ monster consumed in the pillar of flame and dealt an amount of battle damage towards him, scowling all the while.

Shark: 7700LP

"Tch, I'll activate the Trap card, Torrential Reborn!" Shark declared aloud, flipping his other face-down card face-up, and the holographic projection of the card shone on the field. And he then began explaining the card's effect.

"When a face-up Water monster I control is destroyed by battle or card effect and sent the graveyard, I can special summon the monster that was destroyed and sent to the graveyard at that time and inflict 500 points of damage towards my opponent for each of those special summoned monster!" He shouted aloud, intending to revive his destroyed Full Armoured Black Ray Lancer to do who knows what.

And there was no way that she was allowing him to go with that. "Evolzar Laggia's effect!" She shouted aloud, waving her arms outwards as she responded to the Trap card's effect with the effect of her own XYZ Monster.

"When a monster would be normal or special summoned, or a spell or trap is activated, as a Quick Effect, I can detach 2 materials from this card to negate the summon or activation, and if I do, destroy it!" She shouted aloud the XYZ Monster's effect, and Shark's eyes went wide as he heard so.

She then pointed towards the Trap card that still shone as the first chain link. "I will detach two materials from Evolzar Laggia, to negate the effect of Torrential Reborn, and destroy it!" She declared aloud.

And with that declaration, her dragonic XYZ Monster let out a roar as it grabbed and absorbed the two red orbs orbiting around it, and shot out a hot red stream of fire towards the trap card, entrapping it in a pillar of fire.

Evolzar Laggia - Fire/XYZ/Dragon/Rank 4/Effect: 2400/2000 OV: 0

With no other card chained to the activation of Laggia's effect, the chain resolves backwards, the pillar of flame that Laggia shot out negating the effect of Torrential Reborn, and destroying it. Preventing Shark from summoning back his destroyed XYZ Monster.

And with that, she ended her Battle Phase and moved on towards her second Main Phase, intending to continue with her turn for a few more plays. And that was of course to set cards from her hand onto their shared field.

"I will set three cards face-down." She said, setting three face-down cards on their spell and trap zone, one of them being a bluff, none other than the dead card that was Unexpected Dair. "And I will end my turn."

And then she ended her turn, with Evolzar Laggia with no XYZ Materials and Infinitrack Drag Shovel in their field, along with three new set cards filling their spell and trap zones next to Heavy Forward, and one card remaining in her hand. The play once more passed back to Shark as he had no partners for the impromptu tag duel that they had started.

"Tch, you're both stronger than I thought, I'll give you that." He said bitterly, acknowledging that the two of them managed to exceed his expectations. "But even that won't change that you'll both lose! My turn! I'll draw!"

Starting his turn with his Draw Phase, Shark drew his card for turn, getting back to two cards in his hands as he moved on to the Standby Phase, and then his Main Phase 1, briefly glancing towards the two cards in his hand before playing one of them.

"I'll activate the Spell, Glorious Numbers!" The dark blue haired teen shouted aloud, placing the card on his duel blade and activating it. "If I control no monsters, I can target one 'Number' XYZ Monster in my graveyard and special summon it, then draw one card!"

Shark then declared his target, that being none other than the Number monster that needed the most material so summon. "I'll target Number 32, Shark Drake!" He shouted aloud, and she clicked her tongue and responded.

"I'll chain the Trap card, Evo-Singularity!" She shouted aloud, flipping the face-down card that was not Unexpected Dai face-up and activating its effect. "This card lets me target one 'Evoltile' monster and one 'Evolsaur' monster in my graveyard, and special summon one 'Evolzar' XYZ Monster from my Extra Deck!"

And with a wave of her hand, she declared her targets. "I will target Evoltile Najasho and Evolsaur Certao, and special summon Evolzar Dolkka from my Extra Deck!" The Trap card's holographic projection then shone as space itself seemed to bend, and with a burst of fire, a dragonic XYZ Monster with a pair of wings appeared on the field.

Evolzar Dolkka - Fire/XYZ/Dragon/Rank 4/Effect: 2300/1700 OV: 0

"Another XYZ Monster!?" Shark shouted with slightly widened eyes as he saw her managing to cheat out the XYZ Monster with a mere Trap card,

"Then if I did so, I can attach those monsters that I targeted as XYZ Material!" She continued on, and the two Reptile and Dinosaur monster that she had targeted earlier appeared very briefly on the field before both turned into red glowing orbs that orbited the newly summoned XYZ Monster, giving it the ability to use its effects.

Evolzar Dolkka - Fire/XYZ/Dragon/Rank 4/Effect: 2300/1700 OV: 2

Then the chain continued to resolve backwards, and Shark raised his hand high. "Return! Shark Drake!" He shouted as his Ace Monster once again graced the field with its vicious presence, letting out a roar as it was summoned back to battle.

Number 32: Shark Drake - Water/XYZ/Sea Serpent/Rank 4/Effect: 2800/2100 OV: 0

And Shark then drew another card with Glorious Number's effect, essentially managing to summon back his XYZ Monster for free, getting back to two cards in hand once more. "That monster…" He said, narrowing his eyes at the XYZ Monster that she had cheated out.

"That's the one that negates monster effects isn't it." He said, apparently knowing the effect of Dolkka. And then clicked his tongue in annoyance. "Fine then, I'll activate Glorious Number's graveyard effect!"

Shouting so, Shark then continued on as he activated the graveyard effect of the Spell card whose effect had just been resolved. "I can banish this card from my graveyard, then target one 'Number' XYZ Monster that I control, and attach one card from my hand to it as material!"

And he then proceeded to reveal one of the two cards in his hand, revealing the card that he would attach to his XYZ Monster with the Spell's graveyard effect. "I'll attach Needle Sunfish from my hand to Shark Drake as XYZ Material!"

The monstrous Sunfish then briefly appeared on the field, before turning into a blue orb of light that went and orbited around the revived Number monster. Giving it an overlay material for it to use its effect.

Number 32: Shark Drake - Water/XYZ/Sea Serpent/Rank 4/Effect: 2800/2100 OV: 1

She kept her guard up, knowing what that monster does when detached as an XYZ Material, having watched it during Sayaka's duel. But at the very least, she does have a form of defence in the form of her newly summoned Laggia.

After all, Laggia was a monster capable of negating a monster's effect, and destroying it by detaching an XYZ Material, essentially she would be able to destroy Shark's monster if it were to use its effects, but the problem was if it was to attacked.

After all, Shark's newly re-summoned Shark Drake has higher attack than her own Evolzar Laggia, and even without activating the XYZ Monster's effect it could simply plow through her XYZ Monster.

But even then she had something in store for that. Yuuna-san and the others had already shown how that was her deck's largest weakness after all.

"Battle!" Shark declared aloud, moving on towards the Battle Phase immediately, seemingly not activating his XYZ Monster's effect, or perhaps it hasn't met the condition to activate its effect.

"I'll attack your Evolzar Dolkka with Number 32: Shark Drake!" He declared, giving his monster a target for it to attack, and the red skinned monstrous Sea Serpent let out a soul shaking roar. "Depth Bite!"

Large waves of water then appeared from beyond, surrounding the newly reborn Number XYZ Monster and shooting out towards her own newly summoned XYZ Monster, and the red skinned Sea Serpent rode the deadly waves with ease as it inched closer to strike its maw towards her monster.

"Then I will activate my other set card! The Trap, Evolutionary Bridge!" She declared aloud during the Battle Phase, flipping up her other set card, and revealing it to be another Trap card in the line of Evo-Singularity.

"When a monster I control is targeted for an attack, I can target one 'Evoltile' monster in my graveyard, and special summon that target. Then switch the attack target to that monster and conduct damage calculation!" She declared, explaining the Trap's effect and declaring her target with a wave of her hand.

"I will target Evoltile Najasho, and switch your attack to that monster!" And with a blinding flash of glowing red light coming from the Trap card, the winged Reptile monster returned to her field in defence position, summoned in order to block the attack of Shark's own XYZ Monster.

Evoltile Najasho - Fire/Reptile/Level 2/Effect: 100/2000

The Trap card's effect would have certainly been better if she were to had the Evoltile monsters whose effects triggered on battle destruction, but she ran no more than simply Najasho and Westlo, the reason why she ran the card was simply because she had no other better Battle trick.

And immediately the Trap's effect took place, the wave of water that once aimed to drown Evolzar Dolkka changed its direction as it instead splashed on towards the revived Reptile monster, and from the vortex of deadly water came the winged Sea Serpet, who proceeded to tear through the monster with its jaws with ease.

"Kya!" She let out a squeak as she felt the strong impact made from the clash of the two solid visions, having to hold both of her arms out to defend herself from the gust of wind that it made. As though she received no damage from the battle, the impact from the two real hologram monsters was far stronger than normal.

She glanced next to her and saw that Allen had done the same, his eyes slightly squinted to protect himself from the cloud of dust that the battle made, and no doubt he too shared the same sentiment.

Those Number monsters were bad news, that was no doubt from the start, but they were only realizing how dangerous it was now.

Shark clicked his tongue, seeing how he had not managed to destroy her Dolkka thanks to her second Trap card's effect, and moved on towards his Second Main Phase. "I'll set one card, and I'll end my turn." Then proceeded to end this turn after setting a card in his spell and trap zone, ending the turn with a Number XYZ Monster with one overlay material under it, an unknown set card, and no cards remaining in his hand.

"Alright! Now it's my turn! I'll draw!" And with the dark blue haired teen ending his turn, it was one again Allen's turn. And drawing his card for the turn, the brown haired boy got back up to four cards in his hand.

"I'll start by normal summoning another Infinitrack Harvester!" And the first card that he played to start his turn was the same monster that he started on his first turn, the futuristic combine harvester once again appearing on the field, or rather the second copy of the monster appeared on the field.

Infinitrack Harvester - Earth/Machine/Level 2/Effect: 0/2100

"Then Harvester's effect!" Allen declared on the monster's summon, activating its on summon effect and shortcutting by forgoing explaining the monster's effects once more. "I'll add a second Infinitrack Brutal Dozer!"

"This line again!" Shark clicked his tongue in annoyance as he saw Allen basically do the exact same play that he had done, and that was exactly what the brown haired boy was doing.

"And now I'll activate the effect of Infinitrack Brutal Dozer!" Allen declared loudly, revealing the card that he had just searched with the on summon effect of Harvester once more, and again forgoing to re-explain the monster's effect. "I'll tribute Infinitrack Harvester on my field, and summon Infinitrack Brutal Dozer!"

The gigantic metallic grey futuristic dozer then appeared as the golden harvester was tributed for its special summon, being summoned in defence position as it filled the fourth monster zone on their side of the field.

Infinitrack Brutal Dozer - Earth/Machine/Level 5/Effect: 1900/2100

"Then Brutal Dozer's effect! I'll special summon Infinitrack Tuneller from my deck in defence position!" And then the line of play diverged, instead of summoning the gigantic saw machine that was Infinitrack Trencher, he summoned a gigantic futuristic drill headed roadheader, coloured dark metal grey with red and blue accents, summoned with Brutal Dozer's effect and locking Allen to Earth Machine monsters for the turn.

Infinitrack Tuneller - Earth/Machine/Level 5/Effect: 2200/500

And now, having managed to gather three monsters of the same Level, Shark's eyes narrowed dangerously. "Three Level 5s." He muttered, seeing Infinitrack Drag Shovel, Brutal Dozer, and Tuneller all gathered on the field.

"That's right! And here's where it starts!" The brown haired boy shouted with a grin. And he then waved his left hand outwards towards the three monsters that he had gathered. "I'll overlay the Level 5 Infinitrack Drag Shovel, Infinitrack Brutal Dozer, and Infinitrack Tuneller!"

The three giant mechanical marvels shone and turned into brown motes of light, all three of them criss-crossing one another, entering the giant vortex of black and gold that appeared in the middle of the field.

"I'll take all these three monsters and overlay them! XYZ Summon!" The brown haired boy shouted as he raised his hand, and the galactical vortex exploded into a giant pillar of light. "Appear! Digvorzhak, King of Heavy Industry!"

And what appeared onto the field was a gigantic bucket-wheel excavator based monster. Standing far larger than her own XYZ Monsters, or Shark's own Shark Drake, Allen's XYZ Monster appeared on the field.

Digvorzhak, King of Heavy Industry - Earth/XYZ/Machine/Rank 5/Effect: 3200/2000 OV: 3

"Alright!" Allen said with a fist pump, a grin clear on his face, having found a way to destroy Number 32: Shark Drake without way of battle through DIgvorzhak. "Now that I have this one we can-"

"Looks like I've caught a big one! I'll flip my set card!" Shark shouted aloud, gardening back the brown haired boy's attention as his head snapped towards them, and the dark blue haired boy flipped up his face-down set card.

"Splash Capture!" He declared aloud, the Trap card's holographic projection shining brightly on the field. "When you XYZ Summon, I can banish 2 Fish-Type monsters from my graveyard to target that face-up XTZ Monster and take control of that target!"

""Wha-!?"" Both she and Allen shouted in alarm at Shark's Trap card, and the older duelist paid the Trap card's cost.

"I'll banish Saber Shark and XYZ Remora from my graveyard, to target and take control of your Digvorzhak!" The dark blue haired duelist declared aloud, and the two Fish monsters that were banished appeared on their side of the field, biting the gigantic mechanical XYZ Monster.

"Digvorzhak!" Allen shouted, clear alarm in his voice, as the two Fish monsters then dragged down the giant XYZ Monster as if the ground under it was water, drowning it. Then that same XYZ Monster rose from the depths below on Shark's side of the field.

Digvorzhak, King of Heavy Industry - Earth/XYZ/Machine/Rank 5/Effect: 3200/2000 OV: 3

"Kuh!" The brown haired boy grunted as he hastily checked the other cards that remained in his hand, gritting his teeth all while he did so. Eyes widening slightly as he visibly scowled. "Darn it! If I had just did that earlier!" He hissed.

"And I'll… I'll end my turn." And he then ended his turn with a deep scowl on his face. Ending with her two XYZ Monsters still remaining in their side of the turn, and only the dead Unexpected Dai and Heavy Forward on their spell and trap zone, three cards still remained on his hand, but none of them were sadly playable.

"Ah! Allen! Why didn't you change them to defence position!" She shouted as she turned to her partner, whose eyes went wide as he snapped his head towards the two XYZ Monsters on their side of the field.

"Crap!" He hissed out, noticing his mistake. With both Shark Drake and Digvorzhak on the opponent's side of the field, and their attack points being far larger than the two XYZ Monsters they have, there was no doubt that they would be receiving quite the damage on the next turn.

"Heh, then it's my turn! I'll draw!" And with a smug grin on his features, noticing the chance that he had after the miss play that Allen had done. Shark started his turn once more, drawing for turn and getting a card onto his hand. "I'll activate the Spell, Aqua Jet!" He declared.

"This card lets me target one Fish, Sea Serpent, or Aqua Type monster, and make it gain 1000 points of attack!" He declared aloud, and waved his hand towards the one and only target that he could give the card's effect to.

"I'll target Shark Drake! And boost its attack by 1000 points!" And the winged Sea Serpent roared as its attack was boosted, the monster being surrounded by a blue aura as its attack rose.

Number 32: Shark Drake - Water/XYZ/Sea Serpent/Rank 4/Effect: 3800/2100 OV: 1

"Battle!" He declared, immediately going towards the Battle Phase. "I'll attack your Evolzar Dolkka with Shark Drake! Depth Bite!" And once more, the red skinned winged Sea Serpent roared as waves of water appeared, once again aiming its attack to none other than Evolzar Dolkka.

And this time, they had no way of preventing the attack.

It connects, the waves of water drowning her Flame Dragon XYZ Monster, and the Sea Serpent then ripped the monster apart into motes of light with its jaws and claws, destroying it by battle.

"Kyah!" "Guh!" They once again held up both of their hands up to defend themselves from the hard gust of wind that the clash of XYZ Monsters created. She almost lost her footing from that attack with how strong the impact that it made that she could feel it from here, and that's not mentioning the hefty amount of Life Points that they lost from the battle.

Allen Kozuki Myu Chiyoda: 6500LP

"Finally! I'll use the effect of Number 32: Shark Drake!" Shark declared, now managing to get rid of Dolkka that had been a deterrent from him to activate monster effects, he then activated the effect of his Number monster.

"Once per turn, when this attacking card destroys an opponent's monster by battle and sends it to the graveyard, I can detach one XYZ Material from this card, and special summon the destroyed monster to your side of the field in attack position, also it loses 1000 points of attack!" He shouted out the Number monster's effect.

And the red skinned winged Sea Serpent then lets out a roar, taking into its mouth the one blue orb that orbited around it, taking its one overlay material into itself as a cost to activate its effect.

Number 32: Shark Drake - Water/XYZ/Sea Serpent/Rank 4/Effect: 3800/2100 OV: 0

And in a wave of water, the monster that it had just destroyed in battle then returned to the field. Evolzar Dolkka being summoned back in attack position without its overlay materials, the Dragon's head hung down as if it was diminished.

Evolzar Dolkka - Fire/XYZ/Dragon/Rank 4/Effect: 2300/1700 OV: 0

Then a wave of water hits the monster again, making it give out a sad cry of pain, a blue aura briefly engulfing the monster as its attack is reduced.

Evolzar Dolkka - Fire/XYZ/Dragon/Rank 4/Effect: 1300/1700 OV: 0

"And if I do summon this way, this card can make a second attack during this Battle Phase!" Shark finished off with a grin, and raised his hand up. "Now Needle Sunfish effect! When this card is sent to the graveyard, I can target one monster on the field and have it lose 500 attack!"

Then the dark blue haired teen pointed towards the newly summoned monster. "I'll lower Evolzar Dolkka's attack even more!" And the blue sunfish briefly appeared on the field, shooting out orange needles towards the Dragonic XYZ monster, lowering its attack even more.

Evolzar Dolkka - Fire/XYZ/Dragon/Rank 4/Effect: 800/1700 OV: 0

"Just 800 attack-!" She said with gritted teeth, bracing herself for the oncoming attack that would no doubt come soon.

"Attack again! Shark Drake! Depth Bite!" And with the dark blue haired order, for the third time of the game, the winged red skinned Sea Serpent roared, and shot a wave of jetstream from its maw, one that took the form of its own head that bit down on the weakened Dolkka.

"Kyaaa!" "Guaaah!" Both she and Allen screamed as the attack hit. The dragonic XYZ Monster exploding upon contact from Shark Drake's attack, turning into motes of light, and the clash of XYZ Monsters created a strong impact that threw the both of them down to the ground harshly.

Allen Kozuki Myu Chiyoda: 3500LP

"Hmph. Digvorzhak! Attack Evolzar Laggia!" And while the both of them were down on the ground, Shark continued with his assault, using their stolen XYZ Monster to destroy Laggia through battle, hitting them while they're down.

"Kuh!" "Gack!" They shouted as the impact sent them down once more, and reduced what was left of their Life Points.

Allen Kozuki Myu Chiyoda: 2700LP

And then the Battle Phase ended, Shark managing to destroy all of the monsters on their side of the field by battle, essentially clearing their entire field of monsters, and moved on to his second Main Phase.

"I'll activate the effect of Digvorzhak!" Shark declared aloud, activating the effect of the stolen XYZ Monster. "I'll detach one material from it, to send the top three cards of your deck to the graveyard! And if any monsters were sent there this way, I get to destroy cards you control up to the number of monsters sent!"

Finished with explaining the monster's effect, the gigantic mechanical XYZ Monster absorbed one of its three orbiting overlay material, using it as cost to activate its effect. No longer hampered by the existence of Dolkka that deterred it from using its effect.

Digvorzhak, King of Heavy Industry - Earth/XYZ/Machine/Rank 5/Effect: 3200/2000 OV: 2

Allen grimaced as his deck as the previous turn player was milled with his own XYZ Monster's effect, and saw three cards from the top of his deck getting sent to the graveyard. Those being the Spell card Iron Call, Infinitrack Crab Crane, and he Continuous Spell Outrigger Extension.

"Tch, just one monster huh." The dark blue haired boy clicked his tongue as he saw the cards that he had milled and checked the field. "That set card is probably a bluff, if it wasn't you would have used it, so I'll destroy the face-up Continuous Spell, Heavy Forward!"

And with that declared, the Continuous Spell was destroyed without targeting, leaving their field with only the set Unexpected Dai left.

"Hmph, I'll end my turn." And with that, Shark then ended his turn. His field being filled by the now strengthened Number monster and Allen's stolen XYZ Monster, without any cards set in his backrow, nor any cards remaining in his hand.

"M-my turn!" She said between harsh breaths, managing to stand up on shaky legs, using the strength that she still had in her to simply stand, with Allen following suit as he put his hands on his knees, breathing harshly. "I draw!" Drawing back to two cards in her hand, she looked at the cards in her hand shakily.

"I-I'll activate the Spell! Unexpected Dai!" She hoarse out, flipping up the set card that she had set on her very first turn, revealing the Spell card who had only now met its activation condition, getting a loud click of tongue from Shark as he saw that the 'bluff' that he had chosen not to destroy was something that she could activate after all.

"If I-if I control no monsters, I can special summon one Level 4 or lower Normal Monster from the deck." She explained, and took out a card from her deck to special summon a monster from her deck.

"I'll special summon Megalosmasher X!" She declared aloud, placing the card onto her duel blade. And the gigantic prehistoric predator then arrived on their side of the field, clamping its maw open as it bared its fangs towards the monsters that were on Shark's field.

Megalosmasher X - Water/Dinosaur/Level 4/Normal: 2000/0

"Then I-I'll Normal summon Rescue Rabbit!" She shouted aloud continuing her play, summoning another monster onto the field. This one being a small hard hat wearing rabbit with goggles, and a small whistle dangling around its neck.

Rescue Rabbit - Earth/Beast/Level 4/Effect: 300/100

"Now Rescue Rabbit's effect!" She declared aloud, activating the monster's effect right after it was summoned. "I can banish this card that I control, to special summon 2 Level 4 or lower Normal Monsters with the same name from my deck! But they're destroyed during the End Phase!"

And proceeded to take the two cards that she intended to summon straight from her deck. "I'll summon two more Megalosmasher X from my deck!"She shouted aloud, and two identical copies to the first monster that she had just summoned this turn then appeared on her field, all three copies out from her deck.

Megalosmasher X - Water/Dinosaur/Level 4/Normal: 2000/0

Megalosmasher X - Water/Dinosaur/Level 4/Normal: 2000/0

"Three Level 4 monsters." Shark muttered, watching as she gathered three monsters of the same Level, just like he and Allen had done earlier in their own turns. "But no matter what XYZ Monster you summon, it won't be able to defeat both Digvorzhak and Shark Drake!"

And as he said so, the gigantic machine XYZ Monster that he had stolen from Allen lets out a loud mechanical noise, while the winged Sea Serpent opens its maw and lets out an earth shaking roar, both sending shivers down her spine.

She gulped, because she knows that what Shark said was true. She doesn't have a card in her Extra Deck pool that would be able to out both Digvorzhak and Shark Drake in one quick succession, and in the end, it wasn't quite what her deck was made for.

She had been taught by Yuuna that her deck classified as a 'going first control deck', one that has quite low abilities in going second, as her options of breaking boards are simply unsearchable removal spells like Fissure and Smashing Ground, or through way of battle with either her XYZ Monster, or the high attack powered Normal Monster that was Megalosmasher X and Sabersaurus.

And that's mostly because she relies on trap cards that give her tempo when she goes first. Cards like Bottomless Trap Hole that makes the opponent lose their normal or special summon, traps that prevent her monsters from being destroyed by battle like Evolutionary Bridge, and Effect Veiler that was a handtrap which negates an opponent's monster's effect.

The only cards in her Extra Deck are the Evolzars, both Dolkka and Laggia, and there was no way that those two monsters were able to clear the board of monsters that Shark currently had on his field.

Normally, facing a Rank 5 monster with 3200 attack, and a Rank 4 monster with 3800 attack that was indestructible by battle unless done with a specific kind of monster would be unwinnable in her deck.

Normally that is.

She raised her right hand upwards and shouted. "I'll take the three Level 4 Megalosmasher Xs and overlay them all!" She declared loudly, all three Normal Monsters turning into dark blue motes of light that flew and crisscrossed in the sky.

"With these three monsters, I will construct an Overlay Network! XYZ Summon!" She shouted to the sky as the three orbs of light converged into the galactical vortex that had appeared in the middle of the field, and exploded into a blinding pillar of light.

"XYZ Summon!" She shouted, bringing her right hand down as she finished the chant and summoned the monster. "Appear! Vylon Disigma!" And the monster that appeared was ferocious, a strange looking golden monster with large silver claws doubling as blade-like wings, floating above the ground. Its golden and black colouration gives it an odd feeling as the Fairy XYZ Monster descended onto the field, summoned in defence position in an attempt to preserve what Life Points that they have.

Vylon Disigma - Light/XYZ/Fairy/Rank 4/Effect: 2500/2100 OV: 3

"A new XYZ Monster!" Shark said aloud as he raised his duel disk protectively, wary of her newly summoned XYZ Monster that needed three materials to summon, while Allen stared confusedly at the monster that she had summoned.

"That's-!" He said with wide eyes, snapping his head back towards Sayaka, sitting in the sidelines, giving him a soft smile. And as he took a moment as the gears in his head worked, the brown haired boy ended up with a large face splitting grin.

It was obvious why he was confused at the start, after all, this wasn't a card that she was supposed to have in her Extra Deck.

It was Sayaka's.

Suffice to say that Yuuna-san had shown favoritism, or rather she had given Sayaka a whole plethora of cards to thank the lilac haired girl for taking care of her when she was sick, and this XYZ Monster was one of those cards.

The red haired girl had apologized of course, saying that she wanted to get some for them too, only that she couldn't get her hands on some of the cards. She muttered something about 'Disigma being far worse than Castell but a decent Extra Deck option', or something about 'Redoer being stupidly broken in sealed', something about 'probably needing Starring Knight as an option to go into' but whatever those words meant, the implications went far over her head.

But much to her dismay, even after using all but one of the cards that she had on hand, this still indeed does not out both Shark Drake and Digvorzhak, but it could at the very least out one of them.

"I will activate its effect!" She declared aloud, and began explaining the XYZ Monster's effect. "Once per turn, I can detach one material from this card to target one face-up attack position Effect Monster that you control and equip that target to this card!"

With that said, the monstrous looking Fairy monster then took one of its three orbiting overlay materials and absorbed it into its torso, left with two remaining golden orbs orbiting the XYZ Monster as it used one for its effect.

Vylon Disigma - Light/XYZ/Fairy/Rank 4/Effect: 2500/2100 OV: 2

Now it was a decision, whether she should out Shark's own Ace Monster, the Number monster without overlay materials that was indestructible by battle other than with other Number monsters, or the stolen Digvorzhak that could possibly clean their board if it managed to send monsters with its effect.

Her mind raced a mile a minute, deciding which of the two problematic XYZ Monsters that she would equip to Disigma. And she soon came to a decision as she shouted out a name.

"I'll target Digvorzhak, King of Heavy Industry, and equip it to Disigma!" Between a monster whose effects was battle related, and having no more overlay materials to use said effect, and the monster that could possibly just destroy the single wall that was the XYZ Monster in their field and attack directly for game, it wasn't really a choice.

The monstrous gold and black Fairy then spread its claws wide, creating a vacuum of space in front of it that pulled the gigantic mechanical XYZ Monster, and absorbing it and turning it into what was more or less an Equip Spell.

"I will set a card face-down." She said as a face-down card filled their now empty spell and trap zone. "... And I will end my turn." Then proceeded to end her turn as she had no other playable cards, finishing with a defence position XYZ Monster, a set card, and no remaining cards in her hand.

"Hmph, guess I should end this then." Shark said, a wide grin on his face, assured of his victory in this duel. And she wouldn't blame him, the current boardstate does indeed favor him extremely after all.

"My turn! I'll draw!" He said as he drew a card from his deck for turn, and got back a card onto his hand through his Draw Phase. He checked the card that he had just drawn for turn, and the grin on his face got even wider.

"I'll normal summon Double Shark!" He shouted aloud, placing the card he had just drawn onto his duel blade. And a strange shark with two faces on the top and the bottom of its head appeared on his side of the field, snapping its jaws towards the two of them.

Double Shark - Water/Fish/Level 4/Effect: 1200/1600

"Now I'll take Number 32: Shark Drake, and overlay it!" Shark declared loudly with a wave of his hand, and the giant winged Sea Serpent roared as it returned to its inert state, and once more entered the spiral of black and gold that appeared in the middle of the field.

"Wha-! An XYZ using an XYZ Monster?! That's-!" Allen shouted with wide eyes as they saw what Shark was doing, having seen the exact same thing being done by Yuuna-san herself when she once summoned her own XYZ Monster.

"I'll take Shark Drake, and rebuild the overlay network! Chaos XYZ Change!" He shouted aloud, the galactical vortex exploding into a large blinding pillar of dark chaotic light. "Swim from the depth of the abyss! Show yourself! Number C32: Shark Drake Veiss"

The monster that emerged was undoubtedly that of Shark Drake, its form changed and becoming stronger, its main colouring changing from that of blood red into pure white, with accents of purple and shining chaotic bright red energy coursing through the monster, the mark numbering 32 shone on the monster's torso.

Number C32: Shark Drake Veiss - Water/XYZ/Sea Serpent/Rank 4/Effect: 2800/2100 OV: 1

"A… Chaos XYZ Change…!" She said between breaths as she stared at the terrifying monster ahead of her, looking at it in terrific awe.

"Battle!" Shark declared aloud as he moved on straight towards the Battle Phase. "I'll attack your Vylon Disigma with Double Shark!" With that declaration, the deep blue shark roared as it swam through the air, intending to sink its teeths to their XYZ Monster.

"Wha-!? But with Vylon Disigma having a higher defence why wouldn't he attack with Shark Drake Veiss?!" Allen shouted with a confused but wary look, unsure on how exactly the dark blue haired boy intended to do with this line of play.

"And I'll use the effect of Shark Drake Veiss!" The older teen screamed aloud, using the monster's effect. "As a Quick Effect I can detach one material from this card and banish one monster card from my graveyard then target one monster on the field and turn its attack and defence to zero!"

The white gigantic Sea Serpent roared loudly as it bit into its one XYZ Material, using it as a cost to activate the effect that Shark had just explained right in the middle of the Battle Phase.

Number C32: Shark Drake Veiss - Water/XYZ/Sea Serpent/Rank 4/Effect: 2800/2100 OV: 0

Shark took out a card from his duel disk's graveyard slot and revealed it, showing the card that he would banish for cost. "I'll banish Leviathan Dragon, to reduce the attack and defense of your Vylon Disigma to zero!"

From the depths of the abyss, the serpentine dragon briefly returned with a loud roar, throwing itself into the defence position Fairy XYZ monster, and reducing both of its attack and defence into zero.

Vylon Disigma - Light/XYZ/Fairy/Rank 4/Effect: 0/0 OV: 2

"Wha-!?" And with the golden and black XYZ Monster's defence being reduced to zero, the dark blue shark was able to sink its maw into the larger monster, destroying it with its meager attack and turning it into motes of light.

And while both she and Allen was in a daze as they saw their last defence being destroyed by a normal summon with 1200 attack, Shark continued on. "Finish this! Shark Drake Veiss! Chaos Depth Bite!"

With the final order sent the white Sea Serpent roared loudly, gathering a beam of energy in its maw as she shot out a blue stream directly towards them, said attack then dispersed and became smaller and smaller, those small rays of energy all heading towards them in a direct attack.

And they could do nothing to defend against the attack.

"KYAA!" "GUAAA!" They both shouted as the direct attack hits them, sending them flying as the attack of the Number monster hits, and reducing all their remaining Life Points to zero with that final attack.

Allen Kozuki Myu Chiyoda: 0LP

The two of them landed harshly on the ground, bouncing slightly after the impact of the attack. It… hurts. Far more than it normally should, something that they had already found from dealing with the Number monster earlier, but even then this was…

Her vision was slightly blurry and her eyelids felt heavy, was she falling unconscious? The same happened to those trio that stole Shark's cards when they were defeated, does it have something to do with those?

Ah, Sayaka was shouting something that she couldn't hear. She looks worried about something, shouldn't she be resting? When did she get so close anyway?

Shark was looking down on them, both she and Allen that is, she couldn't quite well tell what look he had on his face. "Hmph." The dark blue haired teen scoffed at seeing their downed form, and turned his back towards them as he then started walking away.

Then there was a loud explosion, one that made a huge cloud of dust and made Shark and Sayaka snap their heads towards the source.

And from that came a familiar figure, one seething with rage and anger clear with the death glare that they had on their face and gripping their hand so tightly into fists that it almost drew blood.

"The hell did you do this time! SHARK!" Shouted the wild train of Heartland, sending death glares towards the one and only duelist that was still standing on the scene.

AN: Yep, cliff hanger. Again. Shocker I know. Anyway not much meat in this one, essentially just another set up chapter and all that.

Anyway, revamps! Some cards did indeed get revamped, mostly Shark's 'anime' cards since that made writing the duel much easier, because there isn't any other Level 4 Fish extender released prior to Arc-V, which is what I mostly base the world duelists' decks around.

So essentially no cards released after 2017, which is around the end of Arc-V and the start of Links, which means most fish extenders like White Stingray (Cybernetic Horizon 2018) or even playmakers like Buzzsaw (Eternity Code 2020) haven't come out yet. So I instead decided to use the anime version of Silent Angler, one that doesn't lock you from summoning from hand because it just says that it's a free special if you have a Water, the other revamp being Shark Drake Veiss no longer needing the 1000 Life Point requirement.

Anyway that's all for now, here's the omake.

Omake:

Standard Woes

It was incredibly hectic, the first few days after he and Yuri managed to return to the Standard Dimension, or rather he managed to return to the Standard Dimension while Yuri was left stranded in this one.

Understandably, right after they managed to go through the portal and saw it turning off, the violet haired boy went wild as he tried to turn the gate open once again, after all none of his friends had managed to make it here.

He was distraught when he found out that they hadn't come with them, angry when he told him that he doesn't know how to turn on the gate back again, especially with how his father most likely had locked access to the gate.

He did his best to assure him that his friends at the very least had managed to get away from the Academia, it was most likely the tampering of his fat-the tampering of Akaba Leo that made it so that only the two of them managing to make it here to the Standard Dimension, he decided that his existence coming from this dimension managing to pull the two of them here, though the reason for that could also because of his inexperience and lack of knowledge of dimensional travel in the first place.

It certainly took a while, and it took both him and his mother to essentially calm the violet haired boy down, but eventually he caved, albeit incredibly reluctantly. Though they first needed the help of the guards to physically pry the violet haired boy off from the room with the dimensional gate.

They gave him a few weeks to acclimate to this new dimension, accommodating for Yuri's needs, which mostly involved only one thing.

Dueling.

Suffice to say after the boy had locked himself in the room that he had given for over a week and managed to calm down, he showed interest in the level and style of dueling that the dimension possessed, and was promptly blown away with the variety of decks and schools that the dimension had.

He had come from the Fusion Dimension, a whole dimension where the main summoning mechanic was as its namesake, Fusion Summoning. But in the Standard Dimension, that was only one form of summon that one could study.

He was amazed at seeing for the first time the other summoning mechanics that he had only heard in passing, the mechanics that he had only heard from the Professor, of the enemies that he could potentially face.

XYZ, Synchro, and even the occasional Ritual, though the former was also something that the Fusion Dimension had but rarely do someone partake in learning the summoning method as the Academia mandates using Fusions and only Fusions, still the two summoning methods intrigued the violet haired boy.

And seeing the boy's enthusiasm, mother had seen it as an opportunity and enrolled him in their school, the Leo Duel School or LDS for short, in hopes of the boy coming out of his shell and getting him out of his room.

He knew that his mother had plans for the boy, especially after learning of what The Professor has been doing with the Academia, the both of them had decided to oppose him and his plans.

And to oppose The Professor and his Academia, they needed strong duelists for the organization that they would build, and undoubtedly, Yuri was a strong contender to be a part of the organization.

He was strong, of that he has no doubts. The boy had managed to score wins against him, not that he hadn't won against Yuri himself, and their scores were essentially tied, as they essentially traded wins and losses.

As soon as Yuri entered the Leo Duel School, he immediately showed more promise. Though he still hasn't managed to understand the other method of summoning, the violet haired boy had still managed to climb his way to the top of his class, the spot for first always changing between himself and the violet haired duelist.

And that was how he ended up in the situation that he was in now.

"You want to enter the pro circuit?" He asked as he spun his chair slowly to turn and face the violet haired boy, temporarily stopping his work of reading his subordinates' findings of the dimensional gate to look at Yuri, who was sitting on the sofa in his room spraying water for his plants.

Ah, right, he forgot to water his plants today too. It seems that he was too immersed in his work yet again. He stopped his train of thought as he shook his head lightly, and fixed the position of his glasses.

"Yeah, pretty much." The violet haired boy said, not meeting his eye as he kept his focus on the potted plant before him. "I think I've hit a limit on how much I can learn just by listening to those 'teachers' at the school. Not that I've been learning much from them anyway."

"So you instead want some practical experience then." He deduced, knowing where the boy was coming from. He too, hadn't learned much from his experience under the tutelage of the teachers of the Leo Duel School, but that wasn't a dismissal of their teaching ability, on the contrary they were all top notch duelists in their own right, that he could guarantee.

It was simply the problem that some geniuses like themselves have, it was simply that the environment of teaching that the Leo Duel School provided was not one that was suited for them, that was all.

"Then you should talk to okaa-san." He said with a nod of his head, placing a hand on his chin as he said aloud. "I'm sure that if you speak to her about that then she'll understand. If anything she might set up a debut match for you as well."

"Oh, that would be helpful, thanks." Yuri said as he placed the potted plant back to the windowsill, overlooking Miami City from the highrise tower that they lived in. "Oh right, speaking of Himika-san she asked me to call you for dinner."

"Dinner?" He asked with narrowed eyes through his glasses, looking at the clock on the wall and saw that it was indeed already late. It seems that he had been focusing on his work to notice the passage of time.

He should learn how to manage his time better it seems. He'll ask mother to buy some book about that topic during dinner then, hopefully those would prove insightful.

"I didn't think that you would arrange a match against him for his first debut match." He said as he watched from their VIP seats above the stadium, watching the crowd of the stadium below cheer loudly for the upcoming duel.

"He asked for it himself." His mother said with a huff, covering the lower half of her face with a fan as her blue eyes drifted down on the field where the two duelists would soon clash. "That boy asked me to arrange a duel with the strongest duelist that I could find barring yourself, so I did."

"And now, for today's main show!" The announcer cut them off, and the two Akaba's gaze drifted down to the center stage of the stadium, the voice of Nico Smiley filling the stadium as he took on the role of the announcer, what with him being the manager of the current champion.

"The one who will be challenging the champion, Strong Ishijima, is the rising star of Leo Duel School, Yuri!" The glasses wearing man declared as large holographic monitors depicting the two duelists appeared high above the sky, hovering over the stadium, one depicting the current reigning champion, and the other depicting the purple haired boy.

"A rising star?"

"I've heard of him before! I heard he beat all the older students in duels!"

"Seriously? That's crazy!"

"This duel will use the rules of Action Duel!" The glasses wearing announcer said through his mic, a holographic projected card appearing on his hand as an example of the use of solid vision from motes of light around him, and proceeded to raise it high.

"I'll be activating the Field Spell, Frontier Fang Castle!" Nico declared aloud as the card that he raised shone, and the Solid Vision projectors hidden under the stadium came to life as it worked to manifest the entirety of the field.

And the middle of the stadium changed into that of a gigantic castle, one that stood taller than its surrounding spires of stone, and dense forest of trees. "And behold atop of his tower!" The announcer said, his voice reaching the ears of all those in the stadium.

He motioned his hand towards the tallest part of the castle, and lo and behold, standing on top of it was none other than the current dueling champion of Maiami city, the duelist sponsored by the LDS.

"None other than Strong Ishijima, the current champion of Action Dueling!" And standing there was a large built man, wearing clothes that were more like armor with leather belts criss-crossing the middle of his chest. His purple hair was arranged to three large spikes on the top of his head, while the rest he let flow wildly like a low ponytail, red markings painted around his eyes giving him a feral and wild look to instill fear in his opponent.

The man spread both of his arms wide, and roared. "UWOOOOOOO!" It was both a show of dominance, and an issue for a challenge for all to come, having earned his title as Sakaki Yusho, the champion at the time, not having shown up to defend his title, and earning it through technicality.

"And for today's challenger that the champion will defend against… Yuri!" The flamboyant announcer declared, gesturing towards the opposite entrance that the champion had entered on to make his dramatic entrance at the top of the castle, and there in came the challenger, receiving loud cheers from the audience.

"Oh, what a warm reception." The boy said with a small smile, holding a hand over his head to protect his purple eyes from the blinding sunlight, walking out from the waiting room dressed in a two toned dress shirt of purple and light blue, along with a small red cape draped over his shoulder and going to his lower back, coupled of course with a purple cape on that almost reached his ankles, resembling a coat almost.

"Well then, I do hope that you won't disappoint me!" The violet haired boy declared aloud, his voice captured by the microphone that was connected to his sleek purple duel disk courtesy of LDS, and activating it to generate an obtuse angled purple duel blade.

"Disappoint you? In your dreams kid!" Strong Ishijima shouted at the top of his lungs from the top of the castle, activating his own duel disk as he glared down towards Yuri. "I'll teach you a lesson so that you can learn a thing or two about respect!"

"Would you look at that, the two duelists are already ready to rumble!" Shouting loudly into the microphone as his voice resounded throughout the stadium. "Duelists locked in battle! Kicking the earth and dancing in the air alongside their monsters! They storm through this field!" The man shouted as he spun and danced.

"Behold! This is the newest and greatest evolution of Dueling! ACTION-"

""DUEL!""

Strong Ishijima: 4000LP

Yuri: 4000LP

And with the chant done and said, the announcer Nico snapped his fingers, the large bubble containing the solid vision produced Action Cards popped and spread them all wide across the duel field, free for either duelists to take. "And with the Action Cards sent out in the arena, the duel has begun!"

"Well though I say that, this is my first time in Action Dueling." Yuri said with a smile and a shrug, seemingly incredibly calm and serene even though he was completely out of his depth. "If you would be so kind, Mr. Champion, to show me the ropes?" He asked with a mocking bow.

"You WHAT?!" The current reigning champion roared from the top of his castle, as surprised as the rest of the audience of the boy's blatant declaration. "You-! You dare to get on this stage like this-!"

"Whawhahwa-WHAT'S THIS?!" Nico announced loudly. "The challenger has just declared that he has no experience in dueling in an Action Duel?! Is this a mere ploy to lower the champion's guard? How will Strong Ishijima respond?"

Waving his arm outwards angrily, Strong Ishijima shouted. "Fine then! I'll go first!" The purple drill haired man shouted loudly as he chose to go first, taking the five cards in his hand to decide on his play.

"I'll activate the Spell, Feast of the Wild LV5!" The man shouted at the top of his lungs, placing the Spell card on his duel blade. "This card lets me special summon up to two Level 5 Warrior-Type monsters from my hand and or graveyard, but their effect are negated and they can't attack this turn!"

Done with explaining the Spell card's effect, the drill haired man took out two cards straight from his hand to reveal the monsters that he would summon. "I'll summon the Level 5 Swamp Battleguard, and the Level 5 Lava Battleguard from my hand!"

And the two monsters then appeared onto the field simultaneously, both the brown skinned and the red skinned horned Battleguards immediately jumping off from top of the castle to capture their prey, weapons in hand.

Swamp Battleguard - Earth/Warrior/Level 5/Effect: 1800/1500

Lava Battleguard - Earth/Warrior/Level 5/Effect: 1550/1800

"Oh? A special summon straight from the hand hm?" Yuri said as he slowly strolled over to the giant castle, taking his time as he approached his opponent. "And two Level 5 monsters too! Could it be a, what do you call it, an XYZ Summon? Or maybe some other play?"

"I'll tribute both Swamp Battleguard and Lava Battleguard, to Tribute Summon!" The man declared from atop his castle, the two monsters disappearing and turning into motes of light as they were tributed off from the field.

"Come from the depths of the forest, destroy any trees that stand in your way! King of wild beast, ruler of the wild! Battleguard King!" And true to the chant that its summoner said, the gigantic monster crushed any and all trees that stood in his way as he emerged from the depths of the forest, clad in dark wild armor and carrying a gigantic club, the red skinned giant appeared on the field.

Battleguard King - Earth/Warrior/Level 8/Effect: 3000/1100

"A… Tribute Summon?" Yuri said as he stopped his stroll to stare at the gigantic monster with wide purple eyes. "I… certainly had not expected that." He said, looking baffled at the appearance of the giant monster opposing here.

"And here it is, the Ace Monster of the Champion Ishijima!" The announcer said, followed by the cheer of the crowd, all excited at seeing the reigning champion managing to summon his Ace Monster on his first turn.

"Oh? So that's your Ace Monster?" Yuri said as he eyed the gigantic monster standing before him, one that stood stories high and was given mass by the solid vision technology. "How fitting. It certainly does suit a brute like you."

"Why you-! I'll set one card face-down! Come at me, you shrimp!" The man roared aloud, ending his turn with a 3000 attack monster and a singular set card in his spell and trap zone, along with no cards remaining in his hand.

"Hmm, then I guess it's my turn then? I'll draw." The violet haired boy said, drawing for turn as he got six cards in hand, starting to pick up his pace as he neared the gigantic monster in front of him.

"I will normal summon Predaplant Ophrys Scorpio!" The boy declared aloud as he placed the card on his duel blade, and a scorpio-like Plant monster appeared onto the field, clasping its claws towards the monster who was leagues larger than it.

Predaplant Ophrys Scorpio - Dark/Plant/Level 3/Effect: 1200/800

"Ophrys Scorpio effect!" He declared. "If this card is normal or special summoned, I can send one monster from my hand to the graveyard, to special summon one 'Predaplant' monster from my deck except another copy of Ophrys Scorpio!"

And the violet haired boy then revealed a card in his hand that he would discard for the cost of his normal summon's effect. "I will discard Predaplant Cordyceps, to special summon Predaplant Darlingtonia Cobra from my deck!"

And straight from his deck, Yuri proceeded to special summon a monster straight from his own deck, that being a cobra-like monster made of plants, hissing all while it appeared on defence position on the field.

Predaplant Darlingtonia Cobra - Dark/Plant/Level 3/Effect: 1000/1500

"Now Darlingtonia Cobra's effect!" He declared aloud. "If this card is special summoned by the effect of a 'Predaplant' monster, I can add one 'Polymerization' Spell Card or 'Fusion' Spell Card from my deck to my hand!"

And done with explaining the card's effect, Yuri then proceeded to add a Spell card related to Fusion straight from his deck. "I'll be adding Polymerization from my deck to my hand." He said, revealing the regular Fusion Spell that he then added to his now four cards hand.

"And the challenger had just added the Polymerization Spell from his deck to his hand!" The announcer declared loudly, followed suit by the loud cheering of the crow. "What kind of Fusion monster will he summon?"

"Well isn't this a nice reaction from the crowd?" The boy said with a small smile, amused at the reaction that he had gotten from the crowd around him, his purple eyes glazing slightly as he looked faraway into the middle distance. "But I see… a game that could be enjoyed by others too, huh."

The violet haired boy took a deep breath as he opened his purple eyes, a small but genuine smile on his face as he continued with his turn. "Now I'll activate the Spell, Predapractice!" He said, activating the spell card from his hand.

"This card allows me to special summon one 'Predaplant' monster from my hand, then add one 'Predap' card from my deck to my hand except 'Predapractice'! And for the rest of this turn I can't special summon monsters from the Extra Deck except Fusion Monsters." He said, explaining the Spell card's effect.

"So your deck relies fully on Fusions huh?!" The giant of a man shouted from the top of his lungs. "But no matter what you summon, it won't be able to defeat my Battleguard King!" And following suit with its summoner, the gigantic club wielding warrior followed suit as the monster roared and shook the trees around him.

"Well is that so? I'll special summon Predaplant Chlamydosundew from my hand." Yuri said as he continued and ignored the champion's words, summoning a reptile-like Plant monster from his hand.

Predaplant Chlamydosundew - Dark/Plant/Level 2/Effect: 600/200

"And I'll add the Quick-Play Spell, Predaplast from my deck to my hand." The violet haired boy declared, adding to his hand the Quick-Play Spell from his to his hand, getting back to four cards in his hand, with one of them being the Polymerization Spell.

"Then I'll activate it." Yuri declared as he played the Quick-Play Spell immediately in the open gamestate as soon as the control returned back to him. "This card allows me to reveal any number of 'Predap' cards in my hand, and target that number of face-up monsters you control, and place one Predator Counter on each one."

And then the violet haired boy revealed the cards in his hand for the Quick-Play Spell's effect. "I'll reveal another Predaplant Darlingtonia Cobra, to place a Predator Counter on Battleguard King. Any monsters that are Level 2 or higher becomes Level 1 as long as they have a Predator Counter."

And from the earths below, roots and vines began to grow all around the gigantic horned ogre, constricting the monster and lowering its Level from 8 to a measly 1.

"Che, but even if it's changed to Level 1, it doesn't matter!" The drill haired man shouted from the top of his castle, waving his hand outwards. "Your puny monsters can't defeat my 3000 attack monster!"

And to that declaration, Yuri snorted, holding his hand over his mouth to hide the grin that he no doubt has. "Is that so?" He said, trying his best to keep his voice even. "Then you won't mind if I just removed it then?"

"Wha-!?"

"I'll activate the effect of Chlamydosundew!" Yuri declared with a wave of his hand. "During my Main Phase, I can Fusion Summon one Dark Fusion Monster using this card on the field, and monsters from my hand, field, and or monsters with a Predator Counter you control as Fusion Material!"

And he then proceeded to raise his right hand up high. "And monsters with a Predator Counter that I use as Fusion Material are treated as Dark! I'll fuse Predaplant Chlamydosunder, and your Battleguard King!"

The two monsters were then pulled, space itself contracting itself and merging them into one singular being. The violet haired boy then raised his hand high and chanted. "O flower that traps insects with alluring aroma! Become one and come out from hell with a new threat!"

He then clasped his hands together, completing the fusion chant to summon his Ace Monster with a large smile on his face. "Fusion Summon! Appear! Dragon with poisonous fangs! Starving Venom Fusion Dragon!"

The Fusion Monster that he summoned let out a roar, the multiple orbs that ornamented its body shining ominously as its green eyes glowed, its long vine-like tail swishing around as the monster spread its claws, equally as beautiful as it was deadly, stunning the audience with its appearance.

"M-my Battleguard King was-!?" Strong Ishijima said with wide eyes, unconsciously taking a step back, mouth agape at seeing his apparent Ace Monster getting removed from the field to even summon his own Ace Monster.

"But I'm not done, of course." The violet haired boy said as he reached the foot of the castle, slowly but surely making his way up towards where Ishijima currently was. "I'll activate the Spell, Polymerization!" The boy activated the spell, the holographic projection of the card appearing, and shone on the field.

"I'll fuse Predaplant Ophrys Scorpio and Predaplant Darlingtonia Cobra!" The boy raised both of his hands along with the two monsters rising to the vortex of blue and orange. "O flower that traps bugs with an enticing aroma! Become one and come out from the pits of hell with a new threat!"

He clasped both of his hands together in front of him, and finished the chant as he continued to run up the stairs of the castle, his plant-like Dragon monster flying right beside him. "Fusion Summon! Appear! Predaplant Chimerafflesia!"

The monster that appeared was quite the sight, the infamous plant that released an incredibly nauseating smell that was the rafflesia, decorated with rows and rows of teeth, and its vines acting like tentacles, with jaws on the end of them.

Predaplant Chimerafflesia - Dark/Plant/Fusion/Level 7/Effect: 2500/2000

"A-amazing! The challenger Yuri had not only managed to not only remove Strong Ishijima's Ace Monster, but also managed to summon not one, but two Fusion Monsters to his side of the field!"

The screen focused on the drill haired man, as panic seemed to set in, realizing how the challenger he was facing had managed to assemble over 4000 points of damage, his head turning back and forth, undoubtedly frantically looking for an Action Card that could possibly get him out of this situation.

"Battle!" The violet haired boy declared loudly with a wave of his hand, moving straight towards the Battle Phase. "I'll attack you directly with both Starving Venom Fusion Dragon, and Predaplant Chimerafflesia!"

The two monstrous Fusion monsters sent out their roars, the two Fusion Monsters launching themselves up and flying towards the top of the castle, aiming to attack the champion that resides at the top.

"Kuh, I'll activate the Action Spell, Big Escape!" The purple drill haired man said as he went to the inside of the top of the castle, revealing that inside there was an Action Card that shone as he activated it on his duel disk.

"This card lets me immediately end the Battle Phase!" The man roared aloud, pointing towards the rising violet haired boy with beads of sweat going down his face, and a grin of his own. "Which means that I won't take any damage!"

"Ah, so you're just free to use those cards whenever huh?" Yuri mused as he continued his stroll towards the top of the castle at his own pace, a hand propping his chin, his eyes drifting towards one of the castle's walls.

"Then I'll just take one for myself!" He said as he stared running into one of the giant towers that the castle had, kicking down its gates and finding, just like Ishijima had, an Action Card on the inside of the castle.

"As I thought, they hid them in the castle huh." The violet haired boy hummed. "And that's why you didn't want to get off from your place and come down to where I was, you had all these cards for yourself after all." He said condescendingly.

"Well enough of that, I'll activate my own Action Spell, No Action." Yuri said, slapping his own Action Card onto his duel disk and activating its effect. "This one lets me negate the activation and the effect of an Action Spell Card, and destroy it."

"Wha-!?" Ishijima's eyes went wide as he saw the holographic projection of his Action Card getting destroyed and turning back into motes of lights, its activation and effects negated and then destroyed.

And as he tried to run off from the highest part of the castle in search of more Action Cards to get him out of his situation, his eyes went wide as he was met with the ferocious glares of Yuri's two Fusion Monsters.

"Now then, this is the end it seems." Yuri said as he continued to stroll leisurely to where the purple haired duelist was, slowly making his way up to the top of the stone castle. "Go! Chimerafflesia! Starving Venom!" The violet haired ordered, and the monsters delivered.

"GUAAAAAGH!" And with the two monsters attacking simultaneous through an empty board, and with the set card that he had not doing anything to stop the attacks, Strong Ishijima received the full brunt of the two Fusion Monsters attack and was sent flying through the air, landing exactly under the feet of the duelist who had just defeated him.

Strong Ishijima: 0LP

"We-we have a winner!" The announcer Nico Smiley declared with shock filled in his tone, one that was shared by the silent audience. "W-with a quick One Turn Kill! The winner and new champion of Action Duel is, Yuri!"

The crowd went wild as cheers filled the stadium, cheering for the newly crowned champion of Action Duels who had managed to defeat Strong Ishijima with a quick and clean OTK, and the violet haired boy merely indulged them as he bowed.

He couldn't hold the sigh that escaped his mouth as he watched the whole duel unfold from the VIP seat. Thinking already at the amount of paperwork that the boy's latest win would create.

The gear of fate keeps turning, though separated, their journey all continues.

And as a small goggle wearing boy sees a boy with the exact same face as him defeat the duelist that was supposed to have dueled against his now missing father on live television, he couldn't help but think that fate truly does exist.
