Calm Before the Storm
In the Emerald Forest Yang is doing a new form of training, wearing white bracelets that suppress her Aura forcing her to rely on ki."
"For the first part of your training we are going to work on capitilizing on your defense." Ozpin instructed. "Of course with your Aura restraints your opponents will be stronger and faster than you."
Ruby looked at her sister looking serious.
"Miss Rose will help you respond to block faster attacks."
Yang held up her arms ready to.
"Observe her movements, time her strikes with your blocks, this will allow your Semblance to gain power while minimizing damage."
Ruby used her Semblance to dash forward and struck in multiple areas with the back end of her scythe.
Yang struggled raising her arms in multiple areas but her Aura being restraint held her back from keeping up with Ruby.
After struggling to defend againts Ruby's blocks the next step for training was againts Weiss.
"Miss Schnee will help you defend againts long range fighting."
Weiss lifted her blade, multiple ice shards fired from three glyphs floating above her.
"Remember your Ki will not recharge as quickly as your Aura, therefore you should avoid strikes when you feel your power source is low, but also remember to keep your guard up in case you do get hit."
Yang kept up her arms and side stepped the first three ice shards.
But a couple managed to hit her and launched her to hit a tree.
She wasn't use to evading, she usally stood her ground and threw punches relying on her Semblance.
Her third training was againts Blake.
"Miss Belladonna will be relying on stealth and strike you from multiple angles." Ozpin stated. "In this excercise you need to learn to deal with attacks from multiple angles, once your able to block or evade attacks no matter where they come from youre reflexes will be sharper and prepared to defend no matter how unpredictable the attacks are."
Yang looked all around her, she was surrounded by trees and bushes.
To her right Black dashed and struck the flat of her blade across her cheek.
Yang rose her guard as Blake came out from a bush with a kick aimed at her midsection.
Which she managed to block.
But then Blake would run through the surrounding trees being as quiet and fast as possible.
Then she would strike in different angles sometimes using clones to distract Yang while her real self struck her.
Yang was hit in multiple places and was unable to block from different areas, she was struggling to stand and respond.
Yang was on her knees at the end of these training sessions, she forgot how Ki was easier to waste than Ki.
Ruby walked up to her and kneeled with a sad look on her face. "Sis are you alright?"
Putting on a brave face she looked up at her face and stood up. "Y-yeah, I'm alright" She grinned and looked at Ozpin. "What's next?"
Happy to see her tenacity Ozpin stepped to Yang.
"Now that we finished workign on your defense againts the unpredictibility, we will be working on making your style unprectible." He stated. "Next you will try to land one hit on me, I am not as powerful as Kron, but I can predict my opponents moves." He explained. "I will offer you options for strikes in your repertoire to keep your opponent guessing."
Yang remembered how Kron had called out every move she pulled like he'd seen it a thousand times and squeezed her fists. It angered her that she couldn't land one hit on him and he was calling her out. But she also remembered what he said about her anger, control it, don't let it control her. She took a breatha and looked at Ozpin with fire in her eyes.
"I'm ready."
Weiss watched with fasination, while Ruby had stars in her eyes and even Blake coulnd't help but be interested in this fight. They've all heard how Ozpin is the best of the best, and now they get to see him in action.
Ozpin held one hand gestering Yang to attack.
And Yang was excited fighting Ozpin of all people, sure he admitted he wasn't as strong as Kron but he's definitely no pushover and he's got loads of experience she can learn from.
She threw herself forward and threw her usual strikes.
But like Kron Ozpin evaded all her strikes while Yang does try to mix up her pattern but to no avail.
She had quiete a road to go, but with her drive he's sure that she can improve a tremendous amount. She will make a great huntress in the future.
And if she becomes the next Spring Maiden, Vale and perhaps the world will be safe from Salem and her forces for decades to come.
He just needed to help her improve as much as he can.
After a grueling training session Yang was panting and eating at a table outside of Beacon.
"Ugh, this feels like the first break I had in a long time." She said wiping her brow and eating a trey of food she got from the cafeteria.
"It's not so bad is it?" Ruby asked. "I mean you've been able to excuse yourself from classes a lot this semester."
That was true, due to her special circumstances with Kron's deal and deadline with her training Ozpin allowed her basically as much time training as Kron demands to help her learn Ki. It was fun finding a new way to get stronger that no one else can, but she actually missed having a school life. That's one thing she's looking forward to once this deal was over.
Even if she's not looking forward to whatever the outcome will be.
"I guess so" She sighed and ate a bite out of her burger. "Still, I didn't think my training would step up this much." Not that she minded too much, sure it was some of the hardest she had, she was looking forward to see how strong she'll get. "Guess I'll just have to step up my game."
"Good to see that your having fun at least." Weiss said crossing her arms. "Even though we're involved with a criminal now."
"Come on Weiss" Blake said. "He saved our lives."
"Hmph" She said looking away. "Still I can't help but think our school life would be a lot nicer not having him here."
"Don't know about that Weiss cream" Yang replied. "I kinda like not having to attend class." She giggled. "Especially after dealing with Professor Port's lectures."
"Says you." Weiss said sighing. "I can't help but feel that we are missing out on something."
Blake was about to open her mouth but then she and the rest of team RWBY stop when they heard a noise.
"Hey get back here monkey!"
Running across the courtyard was another Monkey Faunus but instead of a brown monkey tail, it was yellow instead of brown and he had yellow hair as well as wearing an open vest that showed his abbs.
Chasing after him was the school bully Cardin Winchester, clearly he learned to back off of Jaune but he hadn't grown enough to stop picking on Faunus.
He smiled as he dropped a bannana peel and continued running. As he did he runs by Blake and winks as he did.
Blake rose an eyebrow as he ran off.
Cardin was seen running after him but tripped on the bannana peel and fell into a trash can behind him and he screamed as he did so.
"Huh look the trash took itself out." Yang chuckled looking at the scene.
"Never seen that guy around, is he a new student?" Ruby asked.
Weiss looked for a couple seconds, a trouble maker like that would have stood out early in the year. "Wait, what's the date?" She asked as she looked at her scroll. Her eyes widened. "What? The students for the Vytal festival arrived weeks ago! We missed it!"
Right the Vytal festival, Yang was looking forward to fighting other students from different schools.
"Right, forgot that was this year." Ruby said smiling as if it was something to look forward to.
"I can't believe it!" Weiss groaned. "I wanted us to be the first to greet our newcomers as soon as they arrive!"
Blake looked at her for a few seconds, once the heiress noticed she was staring she glared.
"What?" Weiss demanded.
The Cat Faunus smirked. "You wanted to spy on them to find out what we were up against for the tournament."
Weiss shook her head. "No of course not." She looked away while crossing her arms while Blake and the others stared at her. "Just to observe them that's all."
Blake chuckled as Weiss groaned.
"Relax Weiss cream." Yang said lifting an arm. "Come on, with my training I'm the strongest here, bet I can take on Pyrrha now, so we'll definitley win the Vytal Festivial!" She boasted.
Weiss rolled her eyes hearing that though she kinda smirked thinking that she wa right and that first place will belong to their team.
"Yeah!" Ruby yelled raising her arms. "Team RWBY's gonna sweep the competition!"
Yang chuckled seeing her sister's enthusiasm and thought of her training. She's been doing a lot less training with Kron for awhile now. She wondered what he was doing now.
Kron had entered his home that Garnet had given to him to borrow during his stay in Vale.
He yawned bored as he took a book from the shelf and read it.
He already read it before.
The Saiyan couldn't help but think of how to do Yang's next lesson.
God damn it, he was so bored without her. Did he really get that dependent on a human to kill time? He became more invested in making her stronger than he thought.
That's annoying.
He stood up bored out of his mind and thought of what to do.
Maybe he can go into the wilds and fight some Grimm. Maybe see if he can figure out where that Cinder woman went off to.
Or perhaps find Roman and see if he knows anything.
He pulled out his scroll.
Speaking of what happened to him and Neo anyway. They seemed to have vanished. He pressed the call button under Roman's name like Yang had embarrasingly showed him and held it to his ear.
"This number is no longer in service."
He raised an eyebrow wondering what that meant. He shrugged his shoulders, he wondered where he ran off to.
"Guess I have nothing to do today, ugh." Ozpin better be training Yang like her life depended on it. He's been training her for so long that he didn't have much to do without her.
Guess he'll go Grimm hunting.
Yeah, that'll lift his boredom. Some good ole fashioned training will distract him. It's been awhile since he trained. Just because he's been enjoying making Yang stronger doesn't mean he needs to neglect his own skills. Who knows maybe he'll need it in case Yang breaks the odds and gets strong enough to give him trouble before she even becomes the Spring Maiden.
He needed to work on his latest technique right now, it still had more than it's share of problems, hopefully something exciting happens either way. He did seem to be a magnet for a trouble, thinking of the Soul Dust users that have been chasing him. He walked out of his home thinking of what else he can do to kill time.
He's read all the books to the point where the covers are starting to bend. Maybe he can ask Ozpin for any favors in exchange for a new book, that battle log he read was a great read.
Kron had gotten changed into his usual outfit, his tight black top, grey pants, white sash and hood, and of course his white Berringel mask.
Whatever the case, he hopes he can find something new to kill time with.
Kron lifted his hands shaping red Ki into a beowolf.
The Saiyan moved his finger tips commanding the creature to slash apart a tree.
Not very strong which makes sense since they only have a bit of his energy.
Kron can see that he has good control over one Ki beowolf, now he'll see if he can manage two of them. He formed another red Ki ball and was about to use it to form a second Ki beowolf.
Just then he heard a scream, he glanced towards the annoying sound.
A small girl ran and collided with his leg, she fell on the ground and glanced up at him.
Kron stared at the small child, she had short white hair and a tail to macth. Not a monkey tail but a striped cat tail.
The girl quivered under the glare of Kron's mask but turned when she heard the sound of someone else running. She got up and on instinct got behind Kron's pant leg.
He didn't appreciate that and was annoyed to have her crying face on his clothes. But before he could force her off of him he glanced ahead to see who was chasing him.
It was three men all masked and dressed in black.
"Oh lookie here, the kid lead us to another animal." One said. "You kid, grab that brat and come with us."
Kron glanced at the the little girl, a cat tail, and at his own tail, then back at the men chasing after her.
"I'm sorry, do you not know who I am?" Kron asked pointing at the mask.
"Just a white fang, one of the few that escaped." He said to him.
Guess the Scourge of Anima wasn't as well known as he thought he was.
"So you want me and the kid do you?" Kron asked. "For what? Do you need something."
"Stupid monkey" One of them said. "Y'know what, just for that dance." He pulled out what looked like a cattle prod with red at the end labled 'SB'. "If you dance like a good monkey I'll make sure to sell you to a client that treats their property well."
As Kron heard that he made sense of it. Their slavers, huh, he run into them a few times back when he was Daim's champion, he didn't think he'd see them here.
"Dance monkey! If you don't we'll have to 'train' you." His men laughed saying that.
Kron looked at them and glanced down to the little brat clinging to him.
"Get off"
The girl looked up at him.
"i said off." He pushed her off of him.
The little girl hit the ground and looked like her eyes were watering as Kron walked forward.
Kron looked at the men and smiled. "Alright, I'll dance."
They laughed as if they had him at their mercy.
"Just don't blink, or you'll miss it." He started fading out fo their sight.
The men looked surprised seeing that. "A Semblance?!"
Just then the two men behind the one in the middle fell forward.
"Huh? Guys?" The man who told Kron to dance looked at his men on the ground.
"Did you blink? I told you not to."
The slaver turned around shocked to see Kron and before he could do anything he gut punched him forcing him to kneel and fall to the ground.
Kron looked down at the slavers and thought of just killing them. But they were so embarasingly weak that it didn't seem to be worth it.
He looked ahead to see the little girl who seemed to stop crying. Good.
"Alright brat, go home, your nonsense interrupted my training."
The young girl was suprised to hear that and looked around. "I- I don't know where home is."
Kron shrugged. "Not my problem, get lost, I have things to do."
The little brat looked like she was about to cry again much to his annoyance.
"Tch" The Saiyan turned about to find a new place to train but just when he was about to he glanced at the girl.
When he blinked he can see Blake when they were brats in her place. She was about the same age as her when he met her.
Then he remembered something else from Menagarie.
One thing Kali had said. 'it's important we show compassion for one another'
Kron looked at the little girl who was about to cry again. He sighed hating being interrupted.
The little girl looked up and panicked when Kron grabbed the back of her shirt and lifted her to eye level.
"I'll get you home so stop your crying."
She stopped and sniffed fighting not to cry but struggling.
Close enough.
He sniffed her and then sniffed the air using his sense of smell to find where she lived.
Kron dashed upwards in the location of the scent.
In a village far from Vale there were Faunus like Menagerie only they were filled with leopard Faunus.
In the corner a woman with cat ears and brown eyes. She had a saddened expression.
"Mom!" The woman stopped what she was doing as she sees a little girl standing next to a 'Monkey Faunus' but she didn't pay attention to him.
"Daisy!" The mother yelled and lifted up her daughter and gave her a hug, the little girl's tail wrapped around her back.
As Kron watched it he couldn't help but remember Kali and Blake in that position.
Once he stopped seeing that he was about turn and walk.
"Wait" A woman's voice spoke.
The mother smiled and walked to him. "You, you saved my daughter, thank you."
Kron now in a hurry to train merely shrugged.
"Keep a tighter leash on her, she wandered off pretty far." He was about to go.
"No please, wait stay, you you saved her from three men right?" She asked. "The slavers?"
'The slavers' so they were a regular thing.
"I did all the more reason to keep your brat in your sight, why do you ask?"
The mother smiled which reminded him so much of Kali, the leopard ears didn't help.
"Please, come stay for dinner, I'll introduce you to my father the cheif."
Dinner. He hadn't gotten his fill of food yet.
"Guess I can stay for a bit."
Food was too good to pass up.
Kron, his mask was over his forehead and had eaten a good amount of food while the little girl, Daisy watched him eat with widened eyes.
The mother sweatdropped as she watched him eat, she promised him to eat all he wants and he did save her daughter so it was the least she could do.
Once Kron was on his fifth plate the door opened.
An older man with the same colored hair as the mother and daughter only wrinkled.
"Father!" The mother looked at the elder as he walked in.
Daisy went over to the old man. "Grandpa!"
"Oh Daisy!" The elder bent down and lifted her granddaughter up. "Are you ok? Are you hurt?"
Daisy shook her head. "I'm fine! Thanks to him!" She pointed at Kron who was still eating not even glancing at the elder.
Still holding his granddaughter the oldest Faunus walked to Kron who was devouring his meal.
"You, your the one who saved my granddaughter, thank you so much for what you've done."
Kron looked at him with a huge bite of chicken and just nodded and went back to eating.
"Hehe, hungry aren't you?" The older man said.
"Yeah grabdpa, he's been stuffing his face since he got here, I don't know why he's not fat!"
Kron growled as he finished his last plate, he sighed enjoying the meal. He looked over at the mother and remembered how Kali used to make the same face she made when he ate.
"Thanks for the meal, it was good."
"No thank you for saving my daughter."
He glanced over at the little girl in the elders arms.
"Yeah thank you for saving me." She said to him.
Now he was being thanked by these people, first Team RWBY now them. He's not sure if he'll get used to being thanked.
"Just remember to keep a better eye on her I'll be leaving now."
"Wait"
The old cheif said. "Please, you should stay, it's not safe to be outside Waghoba Village at this time, the slavers are probably searching for lone Faunus right now."
So that's the name of this place, Kron glanced at him. "This a regular thing?"
"Yes, ever since the White Fang in Vale have been scattered slavers came and have been taking our people whenever they can."
The Saiyan heard that and had to ask.
"The White Fang? Why would they being scattered have to do with these slavers?"
"Yes, the White Fang in Vale have defended us since their arrival in Saunus, once most were arrested the slavers saw it as their chance to capture our tribe, I hate to say it but once the Vale's branch of the White Fang were defeated no one can stop the slavers."
The White Fang were defending them? That makes sense they were all about defending the Faunus supposedly.
But wait if the White Fang were defending them and now their prime targets for the slavers.
Does that mean it's his fault?
"I don't support what the White Fang has been doing, and even wanted to reject their assistance." The chief said. "But I must admit, we were more depenent on their protection than we thought."
Kron agreed, but if these slavers were kidnapping their people because of him then that means people like this family were being captured and worked to death. He sighed as he started to walk out.
"Wait, please" The mother said. "Didn't you hear my father? It's not safe to be out of the village?"
Kron opened the door and chuckled.
"Your in luck, I just recently got more free time, I'll take care of these slavers."
The elder put his granddaughter in her mothers arms and ran.
"Wait! Young man!" As soon as he opened the door the young man wasn't around.
He turned left and right worried for his granddaughter's savior, he prayed that the slavers don't get the better of him.
Vernal was enjoying the day, the Branwen Tribe have been doing better than usual. They just got a good raid and she was reaping the rewards.
The only annoying thing lately is she hasn't heard of Raven dying yet, but that was fine. Kron will find her sooner or later.
"Cheif!" One of her men shouted.
The leader sighed annoyed and turned to her subordinate.
"What is it?"
"It's Sepia" He said. "We found her alone, we have her caged for you to see."
Vernal smiled, one of their tribes other biggest problems. It was annoying how Kron didn't just capture her for Tyrian but now they have her captured and ready to end it once and for all.
The young woman walked out of the tent with her arms behind her back.
In front of her Sepia stood with her hands tied and in a cage.
"Sepia Ugla" Vernal grinned as she held up her chakrams. "Haven't had to deal with you in awhile, and when we find out your still around we capture you." She chuckled. "Now your no longer going to be a problem, any last words?" She aimed her chakram at her with her finger on the trigger.
Sepia sighed.
"Tell me what you know of the Scourge of Anima, if you do I will ensure that you can start a new honest life." Sepia offered. "Refuse and I will force it out of you."
Vernal figured she was after him specifically, not that it mattered. If she was willing to sell him, which was so tempting he'll no doubt survive and might come back to kill them like he said he would.
"Goodbye, Sepia" She was about to pull the trigger.
Sepia sighed knowing that this was the outcome. It made sense, this was where that monster came from.
By focusing her Aura, her brown plated armor spread across her body along with a tight black suit, it destroyed her restraints.
Vernal looked suprised as she fired multiple times across Sepia's body.
The Owl Faunus's enhanced Aura prevented any damage across her body.
Other members of the Branwen Tribe fired their guns at their target intending to put her down.
But Sepia glowed a bright white light, using her Semblance to create a blinding light.
All the Branwen Tribe covered their eyes from the blinding light.
Then Sepia took out her blade and slashed at every tribe member with enhanced speed.
All were on the ground, most were unconscious, the rest were groaning in pain and unable to move.
Vernal was on the ground, a large slash mark across her stomach. She was in immense pain, she glanced over to her right to see the brown haired woman far away with her back turned. The short haired woman turned to see her chakra ring and reached for it.
But the ring was kicked away.
She looked up again and was shocked to see the woman standing beside her when she was just in front of her.
Sepia kneeled down and stared at her.
"You know, we've met before."
Vernal was taking quick breaths scared at the power she saw.
"Eight years ago, your tribe came to my home, Azalea Village and burned it to the ground." Sepia said. "It was you that I was fighting, remember?" Sepia's tuffs twitched.
The new leader of the tribe grit her teeth and nodded not sure what to do but to comply.
"I didn't at first, but yes, I remember, I fought you eight years ago."
Sepia closed her eyes remembering Azalea village, clashing blades with a young girl barely in her teens, clearly only meant to fight her off not. She reopened them as she remembered a young man with brown skin and black hair, fighting for his life againts a younger child.
"I need information on two people, my priority is the youngest of your tribe, the Scourge of Anima." Sepia explained predictibly. "The second is on Raven Branwen, where is she, why isn't she hear?"
Vernal can see the anger in her eyes.
"Raven" She began not seeing a way out of this situation. "Is no longer apart of this tribe, she left three years ago." A lie not wanting to reveal the details of Raven's banishment. "As for the Scourge-" She was about to tell her he wasn in Vale but then she remembered something Kron had said.
'If I find out any of this is a ruse I'll come back and turn your tribe into a pile of blood, guts, and bones.'
It's been more than a month since she told him to head to Vale, and she hasn't heard of Raven's death yet. She needed to stay queit. If she finds him and interrupts his search for Raven's daughter, he may come for her, and he will if his revenge is interrupted.
"All I know about the Scourge is he's after her, I'm not sure where he is either."
Sepia peered down at her and pressed againts her ear.
"Contact the authorities, notify them that the entire Branwen Tribe is subdued. " She said to her partner.
"Will do!" Penny shouted in a cheerful tone.
Sepia looked at Vernal who looked dejected.
"But we will be taking one with us."
Vernal's eyes widened as Sepia lifted her up.
"I'll have you tell me where we can find the Scourge of Anima."
The short haired woman fought againts her grip.
"I've told you everything let me go!" She yelled as Sepia merely placed Aura Restraints on her wrists and walked away ignoring her cries to be let go.
Normally Sepia would not go this far, but to find Raven the one who sent the tribe to Azalea Village, and the Scourge of Anima who killed her husband she'll use any means necessary.
Just as Vernal was going to be taken she eyed a barrel behind her.
Filled with ice dust.
The current Branwen Tribe aimed her hand and released a Sever towards it.
Sepia didn't see that coming and watched as it sliced through a barrel.
It exploded in huge amounts of ice.
Vernal fell to the ground her right arm coated in ice, she glanced up to see Sepia covered in ice. She looked towards her tribe, the ones that were alive.
"Scatter! It won't hold her for long!" Vernal shouted as she picked her ring blades up and ran for the forest along with most of her men.
Sepia trapped in the ice began to crack it.
"Miss Ugla? Is everything alright?" Penny asked as the ice began to shatter.
Sepia broke through the ice and yelled.
She glared over where she saw Vernal and the tribe ran to. With her enhanced speed she could reach her before she could leave.
But as soon as she took a step, she coughed and fell to the ground.
No! She overdid it! Her armor was taking it's toll, she can't move.
She pressed her ear.
"P-Penny, go after Vernal! Now!"
"Right!"
Just then Penny flew from the cliff she was watching from with fire out of her boots, heading towards the Branwen Tribe, she flew over Sepia who was losing conciousness.
But then the orange haired girl stopped and glanced over at Sepia.
Her vitals were in the red, if she leaves, she could die.
She turned to the Branwen Tribe running away, she can round them all up easily. But to do that Sepia might die.
Her priority is information on the Scourge of Anima.
She turned to Sepia, who was getting worse. The Crusader armor had been improved on, but it can still be fatal if used too much.
Penny turned to the tribe, they must be using vehichles, they'll get away if she takes Sepia for medical attention.
Sepia and Ironwood were going to be so angry at her.
She grabbed Sepia and dashed away to the nearest town.
White Fang Base
Sienna groaned as she slowly awoke, she stood up from her bed. She looked down at her armor, she almost forgot that she had it on. She stood up as she placed on her cybernetic fet on her wounded leg.
Once she stood up, she looked down at her armor, she hasn't been able to take it off since that night she fought Raven's brother.
She was warned that this might happen, and it'll likely get worse than Raven implied, she doubted she told her everything. After all, why wouldn't she use the armor herself?
She was being played and she knew it.
But she looked at her robotic leg and remembered Kron.
The lesser evil.
At least that's what she told herself. She remembered how mercilessly she had a lost a leg and how Kron intended to finish her off.
She was lucky to be alive.
But she also remembered who brought him to Menagerie in the first place. Who manipulated him.
Kron is dangerous and better off dead. But the same can be said about Raven.
She had finally agreed to this alliance with Raven because of what his reputation had done to innocent Faunus, especailly in Atlas. She remembered those children she rescured and hears of victimns living under the heel of humans who want to avoid the rise of another Scourge of Anima.
But then she was right about Adam. He was plotting something, and has been keeping queit about his operation. She can't even get a word from anyone there. Whoever's there is keeping quiet. He's definitely doing something behind her back that she wouldn't approve of.
Not to mention Raven knows more of this war between Salem and Ozpin than she ever can hope to get on her own. Not to mention she's a Maiden, an ally too strong to pass up. Still she needed to find other options.
"Sienna"
The Tiger Faunus turned to see Raven standing in the doorway.
"Are you better today?" Raven asked.
Sienna looked at her armor again and looked at the Branwen. "Yes, better than usual."
She wasn't lying, the Abyss Hide is making her feel more refreshed.
"Good, just a little longer, and I promise Kron will be gone, and I'll help you remove the armor."
The Tiger Faunus kept quite about it, they were so close, there was no need to start friction yet.
"Any progress?"
Raven kept a blank expression.
"I'm getting there, give me a couple more days, they'll see things my way soon."
Which means they haven't talked yet but Sienna kept quite.
Sienna thought of her 'partnership' with Raven. She never trusted her and has more reason not to. She knows those to likely will.
Which is why she sent her men off for a very important mission.
As Raven walked away Sienna looked at herself in the armor. Soon she says. How long is soon by Raven's standards? The armor made her feel stronger than ever.
But is she going to become a monster?
Either way, she needed to consider other options.
Inside a large room, Qrow and Taiyang who had been comepletely recovered were inside.
Qrow was lying down in his bed bouncing a ball againts the wall.
While Taiyang looked around the large cell as if trying to find a weakspot.
"Come on Tai your wasting your time." Qrow said to him. "Raven's not letting us out til we give her what she wants, and she's gong to be as careful as possible." He said in a realistic tone.
Tai sighed in an annoyed tone.
"So what do you say we do? Just give her what she wants?"
Qrow scoffed knowing that was a joke.
"Y'know that's not what I meant, the last thing she needs is more power." Qrow said to his partner. "I'm saying that our only option is to wait till she get's cocky and gives us a way out, either that or hope Ozpin can afford to send backup."
Taiyang sighed knowing he was right, even if they could get away, they need the key to their Aura restraints.
They've been here for what felt like weeks, thankfully Raven had given them a spacious room, but she wouldn't stop trying to talk them into having Ozpin give her accsess to the Void Vault, of course they never would. Knowing they couldn't trust Raven of all people with increasing her power even further.
Which is ironic since they were hoping that she'd be willing to rejoin Ozpin's order. Though it was born more from desperation than logic. They needed all the help they can get with the Scourge being running around searching for any leads on Raven who has proven to be stronger than Maidens, and Salem utilizing this terrifying Soul Dust.
They knew that there was some part of her that cared for Yang. Searching for these artifacts were not for her tribe's benefit, but rather to destroy the Scourge and fight off Salem. Not necesarily a bad thing, an improvement even. She was taking an active stance againts Salem instead of hding with her tribe.
Both were disappointed but at the same time were not suprised that she chose to resist. What they were shocked by was how she wanted them to join her, they were certain she had given up on that.
As the two kept thinking of the situation the door in front of their Hard Light Dust cell, revealing of course Raven with her arms crossed.
"Good morning you two." Raven said sarcastically. "Feeling any different today?"
Taiyang chuckled while Qrow growled.
"Come on Rae, you've come every day acting like things are going to be any different." Taiyang said chuckling. "You come in, give us the offer, we refuse, demand you let us out, and you refuse." He said to her. "It's gonna be the same as usual."
Raven was irritated and opened her mouth to retort.
"And before your usual preaching about getting the power you need to protect Yang, let me point out my thing, we can't trust you."
Raven sighed not sure what she expected. She had these two for weeks and had made no headway with them. She kept saying over and over that they couldn't trust Ozpin and pointing out the facts she had discovered.
The only card had left to play was Summer that Ozpin had kept to himself. But she remembered her last words to her very clearly. No matter what happened she was to keep quiet about their mission. She could tell them what she knew hoping it would entice them. But knowing that she had been a true mother to Yang while she had abandoned her, she had a debt with her she couldn't repay. Keeping her fate a secret for her was the least she can do, even if she knew it was wrong to keep.
It made her feel no different than Ozpin.
"I could have you left you two there." Raven pointed out to them. "But I didn't isn't that enough for you to see things my way?"
Qrow had walked up to the cell wall with a frown.
"Yeah, you saved us, after ditching us for almost two decades." Qrow argued.
His sister would have retorted but she stopped herself knowing that as much as she wante dto deny it, he was right. It wasn't going to erase the past.
"I'd say that makes us a quarter even." Qrow said sarcastically. "And that's being extremely generous."
Raven sighed not knowing why she was so dissapointed.
"Fine" She admitted. "But you know the benefit of us working together, what can I do for you to help me?" She asked.
"I'd say let us out." Taiyang replied. "But we know how that'll end."
The former bandit couldn't afford to. If she releases them, they'll head back to Ozpin, where they may use the Void Vault again and become a true threat to her power. Or possibly come for her with reinforcements, without Cher she doubted she can take on a full team of Void Vault users. She wasn't even confident enough to say how the fight would have ended without that thing appearing.
But she was so frustrated that she had to try a different angle.
"If I let you out, how do I know that you won't alert Ozpin?" Raven asked. "How do I know he won't send more of you?"
"He's getting back up the longer we don't contact him."
Another fair point that she had to agree to.
"Is there anything I can do for us to reach a compromise?"
Tai and Qrow glanced at eachother, they couldn't stay trapped forever. Both Raven and them had similar goals at least. They needed common ground, either they can convince Raven to join let them or at the very least they can convince her to let them go.
They need a path forward.
"First you can tell us more about the Scourge of Anima." Taiyang said to her. "We know you trained him, what we don't know is he has a sucha vendetta against you." He continued. "If you can do that, we'll see if we can agree to any compromise you might have."
Raven frowned hearing that thinking of had started this whole mess.
"I made yet another choice that I wish I could take back." Raven admitted. "And now he is tracking me down, determined to kill me." She looked to Qrow. "You know that first hand don't you?"
Qrow clicked his tongue.
"Yeah, that time you left me to fight for myself." He said remembering how Kron was about to slaughter him and no doubt Raven could detect the beating she was taken.
Raven would have retorted that she warned him that she wouldn't save him if she remained at Ozpin's side. And that Kron would have slaughtered her and him if she had open a portal to him, he was keeping an eye for it and would have ended her right there.
Though they were likely to happen, not certainly.
"Your right Qrow."
Those three words seemed to have shocked both her brother and former flame.
"What?" Qrow asked.
Raven sighed and continued.
"I was a coward, I didn't want to risk fighting him without getting as much as strength as possible." Raven said to him. "I should have done what I could to get you out of there Qrow." She admitted. "And I'm sorry."
Her brother looked at her strangely thinking how wild this was, but he shook his head.
"Raven"
The former Branwen Tribe leader turned to Sienna who had entered the room.
"What is it?" She asked hoping that she didn't hear what she said.
"My agents have found something of interest to you." Sienna said to her and glanced at her former teammates. "Unless this can't wait."
Raven glanced over at her teamamtes, she wasn't having any effect on them anyway.
"Tell me"
Sienna nodded and walked away while glancing at the locked duo.
Once they were away Sienna explained what her agents had found.
Hearing this definitley sparked interest in the former Branwen Tribe leader.
"Are you sure?"
"Yes, I even have footage."
While Raven did have a lot to take care of, this was something she couldn't ignore. When was she going to get a chance like this?
"Keep the two locked up until I'm back, and make sure your men keep looking for leads on the Jade Jar."
Sienna nodded as Raven walked away no doubt to take care of this problem.
SHe wasn't sure if it would be of interest but she was glad to have been proven wrong.
Now that she's off to deal with her personal matter, she had something to take care of.
As soon as Sienna made sure that Raven was out of the base she walked into the cell door and looked at their prisoners.
Taiyang and Qrow looked at her.
"You picked the wrong horse to bet on." Qrow pointed out. "Can I get my flask at least?"
Sienna looked at him and at Taiyang.
"I'll do you one better, I can help you escape." She said to them. "I just have some questions that Raven won't answer."
She hoped to all gods that Raven won't be back soon.
Weeks had gone by since Kron agreed to let Ozpin have his hand at training Yang and he's been killing time doing one thing he never thought he'd do again.
Helping others.
If his species could see him they'd kill him on sight.
A human was running through the forest with a panicked expression.
But he ran into something hard and fell on his rear.
Once he was on the ground he looked up in fear.
It was a red glowing Grimm that have been ruining their operation.
From above a tree Kron was moving his fingers controlling the glowing Grimm.
The Ki Grimm placed it's claws on the man's arms pinning him to the ground with his mouth close to his face.
"Ahhh!" He yelled trying and failing to move at all.
"Where can I find more of you? I've been having trouble finding you slavers." Kron askedfrom the tree.
The slaver looked around trying to find out where the voice was comign from but the ki beowolf bit into his shoulder.
"Ahh! Our leader in Solitas! H-he ordered us to go back to him!" He yelled in desperation.
"Solitas?" Kron asked. "That's where your from?"
"Yes! W-we're called the Silver Bullet Brotherhood! W-we capture and sell Faunus to the highest bidder!" He yelled. "W-we thought that the tribes of Saunus outside of Vale would be prime targets b-but now that you've been stopping us, w-we were ordered to return."
The Saiyan tilted his head.
"Silver Bullet Brotherhood?" Kron asked. "Never heard of you lot, Solitas huh? Anyone strong there?"
"N-not like you." He admitted. "W-who are you? Where have you come from, are you fr-from the White Fang? We thought you were all arrested."
"Someone you will never make a slave out of." He said to the weakling.
"Y-you should know t-their going to send more of us after you." He said to him. "Let me go and I won't-"
Kron thought that was enough and he twitched his fingers.
The Ki-eowolf rose him and slammed the slaver into the ground knocking him out.
As Kron saw that he was knocked out he looked at his Ki-eowolf and can see how solit it is. These past few weeks he seems to have perfected his technique.
"Hmm, ah" He snapped his fingers looking at his Ki-owolf and smiled. "Scourge Grimm, that's what I'll call you."
The Ki beowolf vanished and he glanced down at the slaver.
Suppose he better drag him to the village.
Kron brought him to Wobunga Village and dropped him at the feet of the village chief.
"This is the last of them for awhile, he says more will come." Kron said to him. "You should try having your huntsmen train more of your fittest people if you want to avoid them again."
The chief smiled and bowed to him.
"My family and village thank you for your kindness, please allow me to pay you."
Kron rose a hand to him.
"I don't need your money, I already had your daughter's food, that's enough."
The old man smiled as if thankful for his kindness.
The mother and daughter walked to him smiling.
"Thank you again for what you've done for my daughter and our village." She said smiling.
The little girl nodded and hugged his pant leg.
"Thank you."
Kron glanced down at the brat still thinking of Blake and at her mother thinking of Kali.
"I need to get going." He said as he pushed Daisy off of him and walked away.
"Your welcome any time, the Scourge of Anima is a hero as far as we're concerned."
The Saiyan stopped thinking of the past.
"I'm no hero, I just had free time." He said as he flew up living the Faunus village behind.
That wasn't such a bad way to use up his time.
Hunting down those slavers gave him an excuse to test out his newest technique, it's pretty much comeplete.
Scourge Grimm the newest weapon in his arsenal.
He thought of the mother and daughter that kept thanking him.
It felt nice.
He wondered how seeing Kali again would feel like.
He shook his head, he needed to get back, maybe today Yang will do better in the arena.
Hopefully Ozpin's training hasn't been a waste of time.
Yang was waiting at the entrance to Dead end in her Golden Zhulong disguise.
Her fight was going to start soon, she wanted to make sure he watched it.
"I'm here"
Yang stopped and looked ahead to see Kron walking in the hall way in most of his outfit.
"There you are!" She sighed. "Where have you been? You've been getting later and later for weeks."
Kron rolled his eyes. "I had something to do, relax." He said to her. "Your about to start?"
"Yep" She popped the P. "Get ready to watch me kick ass again!"
Sure, maybe this time she'll have better tehcnique.
"Don't dissapoint me."
Yang smiled as she walked towards the arena entrance while Kron went to go to the VIP seat to watch the fight.
As time passed Yang had grown more and more accustomed to her new training regime.
It took a bit of adjusting but she adapted after another month just as she did the first month of her training.
She was in the Dead Arena in herlong pony tail and Golden Zhulong mask.
Once again she was besting many combatants, they all seemed slower than usual, weaker than usual.
No doubt thanks to all the training she's been doing outside of the arena.
She hasn't used her Semblance a single time.
Yang waved one axe strike and threw a quick uppercut which shattered her opponent's Aura.
Her opponent fell to the ground unconscious after receiving few attacks from her.
"And once again the winner is, the Golden Zhulong!"
The masked Yang rose a fist and looked at the crowd.
Before they would boo her but after a month of fighting in Dead End she's become a favorite.
Behind her mask Yang grinned looking at the audience, Kron can see why he loved fighting in an Arena, she can fight and show off. What more could she want?
She looked up into the glass knowing Kron was watching and rose a fist.
Dead End Arena
Yang's fights came and went.
From the window Garnet clapped looking down at Yang, laughing.
"Hahaha, I must say, she's definitely Raven's daughter and your student!" She cheered. "It won't be long before she can perform my trial!"
Kron didn't respond at all. He had mixed feelings.
On the one hand watching her beat down on her opponents, showing how much she has grown, she wasn't even relying on her Semblance. He felt a sense of pride in her growing strength. Clearly as she is now she would have beaten Adam no problem. Slowly but surely her power was growing, he can actually see a possibility of her one day becoming a strong enough opponent for him not to have to hold back on.
Huh, that's a new feeling. Pride in someone else.
But on the other hand, her fighting style. Nothing's changed. She's performing the same strikes. He's able to predict them all like usual.
He growled at the sight, dissapointed at Ozpin's lack of progress.
A style that can counter his.
What a joke.
Emerald Forest
Yang had flown high this time, she smiled as her hair was in the wind. She laughed as she dashed in the air over the forest.
On the ground Kron watched with crossed arms.
While he was dissapointed with Ozpin's training watching her fly through the air made him smile.
She really had flying down, she would have gotten it in days if it wasn't for distractions. Good, now she has a new activity for training to increase her Ki reserves.
Now they can move on to the fun part.
This time she'll learn the best part of being a Ki user.
"Excuse me"
His mood was shot down and he glanced at Ozpin.
Before he could say anything Yang who had seen Ozpin, descended and landed on the ground.
"Miss Xaio Long I see that your flying lessons are going well."
Yeah, more well than yours. Kron had thought.
"Hey Ozpin!" Yang said ecited. "Is it time for my our training now?"
"Yes it is, are you ready?"
Yang giggled and turned to Kron.
"I got flying down now right?"
Kron can hear the enthusiasim in her voice and couldn't help but chuckle at that. "Yeah, you did, you picked it up better than expected."
Yang had a toothy grin at that and threw a fist. "Hell yeah I did, see ya tomorrow Kron." She said turning to Ozpin ready to leave for his training.
As she was leaving Kron frowned, remembering her actions in the ring.
"Hold it."
Ozpin and Yang turned around. "Is something wrong?"
Kron glared at the headmaster and crossed his arms. "Your training has been nothing but a waste of time."
The man tilted his head. "Has it now?" He glanced at Yang who didn't seem to react to it and back at Kron. "Why do you think that?"
"I've wacthed her in Dead End Arena, her movements are the same and as predictable as ever." Kron said in annoyed tone. "You promised that you'd fix her style and all I see is more of the same."
Ozpin looked genuinely suprised. "Have you now?" He glanced at Yang and can see a slight smirk. Interesting so that's how it is.
Yang giggled as she walked forward and took her typical fighting stance.
Kron looked at her with annyoance.
"What do you think your doing?"
Yang threw a fist shadow boxing for a minute and grinned.
"How about this cave man" She called him by the nickname she made for him. "I land one hit on you and you let me keep training with Ozpin."
Kron felt insulted but the at same time appreciated the cockiness.
"I warn you, don't play this game or I'll embarress you again." He said reminding her of how he predicted her attacks last month without issue.
"Try me" Yang said with a toothy grin.
Kron glanced at Ozpin who seemed to have a friendly smile and back at Yang.
"Tch, fine, go for it."
Yang immediately acted and went within striking distance.
"Left Straight" Kron said boredly and swayed it.
"Right cross" The Saiyan weaved it as well.
"Right side kick" And he leaned back as the kick missed him.
Though Kron was still calling out Yang's attacks and avoiding them sucsessfully he noticed something peculiar.
She doesn't seem to be angry, no she is. But she's calmer, focused.
Looks like she's taking his advice, too bad it won't be enough.
"Right hook" Kron ducked but then looked shocked.
Yang's knee struck out aiming for his face.
Panicked the Saiyan leaned his head back barely missing and then her left fist collided with his face forcing him to turn his head.
The Saiyan was awestruck at that.
"Hah, got ya!" She yelled pulling back her fist.
Kron looked suprised seeing that, he didn't see that coming at all.
"That's it? You suprise me with a knee strike? Sorry if that's all she can do after a month then I'm not convinced."
Yang grinned as she got into her stance again.
"Wanna try again?"
The Saiyan chuckled and lifted a finger.
Yang again attacked.
"Left hook"
Kron tilted his head back.
But then Yang pulled back her left and threw a right punch to Kron's gut.
The Saiyan was suprised that he'd been hit twice. "What?" She immediately pulled back her left arm and struck him in the abdomen.
Yang had a toothy grin clearly proud of herself.
"You gonna say that was a fluke to?"
Kron was starting to feel challenged.
"Again"
Yang pulled back her right arm.
Kron watched her carefully trying to see if he can avoid anymore strikes.
Yang threw an punch aimed for his chest.
The Saiyan sidestepped.
But just before Yang outstretched her arm she pulled back and threw a kick to his side.
Kron then ducked underneath the kick, but then he felt an impact on top of his head.
Yang had elbowed on top of his head as soon as her kick missed quciker than usual.
She pulled her arm off of him and smirked. "Impressed yet?"
The Saiyan didn't respond he stood up looking confused.
How can this be? Her reflexes were sharper than usual, she never did anything like this in the arena. He's dodging at the same speed as she is but he's not able to read her rythem like before. He remembered those attacks, they looked like they came out of nowhere. Was he going slower than she was? No so that means.
"Your attacks, you change them as soon as I dodge so it'd be harder to evade." Kron said to him.
"Yep" She said popping the P. "Now I've gotten good at reading you just like you did with me."
Kron would've burst her bubble but didn't seeing that it was true. He turned to Ozpin.
The headmaster had a smile on his face. "The training I had Yang undergo was to increase her reflexes along with making her attack more flexible and harder to predict." He said. "See Aura may not be as potent as Ki, however it does provide the user enhanced abilities dependent on the user, one of them is observation."
As he explain Ozpin remembered a video of Li Ren's initiation when a king Taijitu was about to sneat attack him only for the martial artist to block it's fangs from biting him. Sadly it's an overlooked skill that not enough students try to develop.
Kron listened and turn to Yang. "Ok, so how did you train her?"
"I had her teammates attack her in different ways, from multiple angles from Miss Belladonna, long range from Miss Schnee, and faster up close attacks from Miss Rose." Ozpin stated. "Along with a spar with myself all while wearing Aura restraints." He explained. "Having going through those excercises everyday for weeks made her more aware and flexible for attacks no matter the weapon or style, she's became so aware that she knows the second your about to move your body and where, then she will strike where your going." He explained. "As long as you restrict yourself to her speed level that is."
Kron put a hand to his chin fasincated by this.
"Ok, I think I get it, so without her Aura Cuffs she's become more observant, and without them." Kron reasoned.
Ozpin smiled as he finished. "Her observation has increased able to change her attacks mid swing for something more advantageous."
"Ok, now I see, but wait in the arena her movements are-" He stopped when he was able to piece it together, and looked over at Yang who was grinning at him with mischeif. "You, were you holding back in the arena?" Kron asked.
"Yep!" Yang chirped. "Sorry Kron, I wanted to suprise you and land a couple hits on you."
Kron growled. "That's dirty, you shouldn't need to hide your ability from me"
Yang shrugged still smiling. "Come on I wanted to suprise you? Is that really so bad?"
Kron thought of that, it wasn't so bad it was actually very pleasant, he chuckled.
The Saiyan took his own fighting stance.
Yang looked suprised seeing that.
Ozpin looked wary of him, was he going to back out on their deal and attack now? That wouldn't be favorable at all.
"Let's spar, let's see how you handle fighting me at your level instead of just dodging." Even though he was just going to hold back he was excited, strange before fights like these where there was a massive power gap it would bore him and he'd be uninterested. But he couldn't resist seeing how much she improved from the first time he met her.
Yang smiled as she took her fighting stance as well. "Ozpin, you alright with delaying my training for a bit."
Ozpin looked at Kron and had a sigh of relief. For a moment he panicked, he thought he wasn't going to hold back on her when she wasn't ready. That would've been a problem.
"Very well"
Kron smiled as he lifted his right arm across into a fist, his left risen with a flattened hand. "Ready?"
"Born ready!" Yang yelled as she dashed towards him looking forward to her sparring partner.
Yang threw a left straight as she usually does and Kron grabbed her wrist with his left and threw a fist to her face, at the same time she was throwing a kick aimed at his right side.
Yang was struck and at the same time threw a kick to his side making him tilt his body and letting go of her right.
She then spun and elbowed his face.
After his head tilt he threw a punch aimed at her stomach.
And Yang lowered her left to block the body blow.
Kron threw a straight punch.
Which Yang had risen her arms to block.
The Saiyan then followed up with an upper cut to raise her right arm upward and then he punched straight into her face with his left.
But Yand saw it coming and intercepted with her left palm and threw a right straight for his face.
Kron threw a body blow for her gut.
The two struck each other and reeled back.
The Saiyan recovered and threw multiple strikes.
Yang got defensive and rose an arm blocking a straight kick, a left hook, and a spear hand strike. She knew he was holding back, but she knows without her training all his attacks would land, sure her Semblance would get stronger because of it but still it would turn her into a glass cannon and easy to take down before she has a chance to use her enhanced strength.
As Ozpin watched he thought back to how they started her training. Ozpin observed Kron's fighting style, it's greatest strength is that it is hard to predict, overwhelm almost any defense and can adapt to any fighting style. But it does have one glaring weakness.
Yang struck Kron across the cheek, kicked into his gut and uppercut him.
It severely lacks defense, his movements leave him open, no doubt due to his greater strength. For that he taught Yang to capatlize on weakpoints, taught her when to focus on defense and put her in situations where she is forced to enhance her senses in order to learn where and how her opponent will strike. Though he doubts Yang will be strong enough to defeat Kron in two months, at the end of the day her training has excelled far more than she would have if she had a normal life in Beacon.
Normally in this kind of fight Kron would be bored, he can end it just by holding back less. This was different. Because Kron can see how much she's improved.
Kron jumped and flipped like a borba tusk and swung out his leg into an axe kick.
Yang was able to see through it and blokced with her arms over her head, the ground beneath her cracked. She then grabbed his leg and tried to slam him on the ground.
Kron put his hands on the ground and lifted his grabbed leg sending Yang overr himself.
She used her Ki to float down and land perfectly on the ground.
When they first met even though he was holding back he could see the flaws in her movements, they weren't bad, they were just easy to telegraph especially when she was angry. The difference is wide, it's almost like he was fighting a different person.
Yang dashed forward with a smile.
Still, there was room for improvement.
Kron threw a round house kick, which Yang evaded and threw a fist to his face, but Kron ducked underneath and swept kick.
Yang saw that coming and jumped with her arm pulled back.
And the Saiyan jumped up and uppercut her chin sending the daughter of Raven up and landing on the ground.
Kron may have been impressed but he can see that she still hasn't perfected her new method just yet. While Yang had gotten better at adapting to him he can adapt as well and was more experince with it. Still he can definitely see some improvement.
"Man, thought I had you." Yang said getting up holding her chin but she laughed. "Still had you worried didn't I?"
As much as he hated to admit it, she did, her skill had proven as well as her power. She was shaping up to be the ideal opponent he hoped for.
"So"
Kron and Yang turned to Ozpin.
"May I continue to have a part of her training?"
The Saiyan still would've liked to train her instead but seeing how much she benifitted from this made him realize that she needed his training.
"Alright, I like what I see." Kron turned to Yang. "You can keep training under him, just know that I will not go any easier on you when we get back to it."
Yang smirked as she got up. "I've been holding my own so far, feel free to step it up anytime, anything to get strong enough to fight you at your best."
Two months and she was still chasing after becoming his equal. Without Maiden abilities, he doubts it can be done, but that determination was part of what he was looking for.
"Don't dissapoint me." Kron said smirking and glanced at Ozpin. "Gotta say, I didn't expect your training to be this effective."
"I am the headmaster of a huntsman academy after all." Ozpin said smiling. "Perhaps one day after our deal concludes I can provide you with training as well."
Kron cackled at that like it was a joke.
"I've been doing fine on my own, I don't need help getting stronger." Not anymore, Raven taught him plenty and he picked up on plenty along the way.
"Perhaps" He looked over at Yang who stood up. "Come, we're keeping your teammates waiting." He walked away.
As Yang followed she waved.
"Don't miss me too much caveman!" She said smiling.
Kron clikced his tongue, she may be interesting to teach, but she was still annoying.
After she left Kron again felt bored. Now that he's agreed to letting her train with Ozpin he wondered what else he could do with his free time. Training obviously, but what else? He's finished every book Ozpin given him.
He thought of those slavers he took care of.
Guess he can clean that mess up, there's supposed to be more after all.
One thing was for sure, he has a feeling that two months will pass before he knows it and the fun will truly begin.
Ozpin looked at his scroll to see that he had recieved no messages from Qrow or Taiyang.
He sighed mentally, he hand't recieved word from them in weeks, he sent search parties but to no avail.
No good, he will need to send someone more substantial.
He glanced at Miss Xaio Long as she continued to train againts her teammates.
Guilt weighed heavily on his soul.
No matter what happens, he will ensure the safety of their father and uncle.
He thought that as he watched Ruby clash with Yang.
Kron continues to change, Yang improves as a fighter mentally as well as physically, Sienna has a plot behind Raven's back, Sepia is now unconcious.
Will Taiyang and Qrow escape?
What is there for Yang to learn next?
What else will Kron do?
Find out next time on One's Own Path!
Alright guys here we are, I hope u guys enjoyed this chapter, as for what Kron was doing, he was both developing as a character and setting up for an element in the next arc which I hope u guys will love.
It was the idea of a friend and fan of mine, I hope I can do this right.
But don't worry too much about it, it will be in the next arc for now I hope u enjoyed this chapter and are looking forward to what's next.
See u in the next chapter!
Review Responces
Guest: Thank you so much for your concern. Rest assured though I'm alright, it's just a busy time and I am writing because I enjoy it, I'm not going to kill myself over it.
But thank u and I will remember to put myself first.
Guest: I don't see why not. Kron is far from using transformations so yeah, I'll definitely get on that thank u.
Akashic Records: Hope your ok with a long wait.
Fan5: Lol that's not a bad idea, Kron will definitely pick up all sorts of Ki tricks from Ozpin in time, you'll see.
NewMyster356: Thank u for all the reviews so far.
Guest: Thank you.
Ui GOKU12: U know the old saying, ever little bit helps. Besides Ozpin's not necesarilly hoping for Yang to win, he doesn't think that's very likely, the goal is to make her as strong and skilled as possible since she might become the next Spring maiden.
ThatSaiyaGuy: Glad u could read it. You might get your wish, people are getting closer and closer to finding out where he is. Vernal's on the run, at the very least she knows where Kron would be and why, we're getting close.
Also I wanted to say, props for remembering Daim, I feel like he's one of the more forgettable OC's here.
Yep, at the same time though, what choice did Ozpin have? He kinda chose the best option, if he didn't take Kron's offer Raven would've died and Yang wouldn't get Ki and might not be enough to fight off Soul Dust users even with Maiden powers. Though Qrow and Tai will definitely not listen to that, especially sicne he didn't tell them. Poor Ozpin, he did the best he could. Ki was just too good to pass up. Your not wrong though he's gonna be in serious shit.
Also good theory with Sienna you were almost right, but Sienna is still with us, she's just starting to plot behind Raven's back. Hope it goes well for her. And as for Cher, she's definitely getting to her, though Cher has a good reason for wanting Raven dead, who can blame her, like you said if it will happen it won't be anytime soon.
Kron's weakness has been mentioned here and there. Basically he lacks defense, if you can over come his onslaught of attacks a fighter that's good at defense and counters can see that he leaves himself open in between combos, mostly because he didn't have to resort to defense since he was a kid. Which is what Yang is learning as well as making his attacks predictible. Basically Kron's training is increasing her power and ki usage, while Ozpin teaches her skill. A good blend to make him his dream opponent.
U know what's terrifying? If u think about it, Eclipse had performed a greater feat than anything Kron has at the moment. He fought two Maiden level opponents and one Fully Realized at once and almost one until Cher helped Raven. Kron hasn't done that yet, maybe he can do that but he hasn't shown that. And that's before he was in his coccon. He's gonna be terrifying when he reemerges. As for his mother, maybe, Eclipse did remember his baby human hand reaching out for her.
Also I will thank you, I am sorry that I couldn't respond to your entire review last time.
Epantoja521: Thank u, maybe so, they did find Vernal
Eddyg125: Oh hey, haven't heard from u in a while, yeah but at least he's been working on a new trick while doing something good without someone telling him to. But don't worry he'll dedicate himself to training again soon. Also lol, yeah if Kron get's SSJ he'll be the weakest but Remnant will have no problems for a long time.
Runeion: I used your idea, I hope you like it thank you!
Keybladelight: Yeah, but Raven knows that she'll eventually see it and that lying won't do her any good. She better hope she can still talk to Cher into helping her. But it's a tough sell.
I can confirm that Eclipse will talk at some point.
ZamasuAutonomous22: Thank you!
You'll have to wait and see I hope you'll enjoy it.
I PM'd you about your concerns. And as u can see it's definitely helping Yang out, if Pyrrha vs Yang happens it will be in the next arc so don't worry.
I hope this fic still hasn't let u down, always feel free to write your concerns and I'll see if I can ease you. Thank u for the honesty.
Gfhhfcv: Thank you. Yes Kron will learn other tricks I promise just give it time. As for surviving Saiyans maybe, everyone has to level up before that happens though.
Lelouch of Zero: Thank you, I thought of trying to be more creative but then I thought sometimes the simplist ways are best. We'll be seeing more of Penny and Sepia before the end. Raven definitely doesn't want to kill Kron, she only sees it as the only choice she has, and Cher isn't sold yet, we'll see. I hope you'll like the outcome regaurdless.
Bashleyz: Thank u hope u enjoyed this to.
James is bored: Hope it was woht the wait.
Triscythe59: Whoa there, if Kron becomes Super Saiyan now, then everyone would be one shotted. Lol. Still I like your enthusiasm, hope u can enjoy the ride on the way. Raven is definitely going to be surprised when she sees Yang and Kron training together.
Alright guys, sorry for the later than usual chapter, hope you can look forward to the next!
Have an awesome day! :)
