Mikoto Misaka walked her way to the 177th Judgement Branch. A couple of bags on her sides swayed back and forth as she walked, with slight skips following her footsteps.

"Today's pretty lucky," Mikoto muttered to herself. "I got the limited edition Platinum Gekota Clip, only 1-in-a-million available here in Academy City! Oh man, this is the best day ever! Although I think I might've splurged a little bit with the sweets I bought." She raised the bags on her hands in front of her.

They cost a lot for just a couple of chocolates. She, personally wouldn't mind and go buy some expensive sweets, however as it was a special occasion she thought that a few sweets wouldn't hurt every once in a while.

At least they put out a discount for higher levels. Ah, the perks of being Level 5.

Mikoto continued walking on her merry way. Then she looked forward, and saw a familiar color of long dark hair, and a flower headband to the side. Dressed in overalls, the pants reaching to her thighs, underneath it a red t-shirt, she was fiddling with her phone, seemingly texting to someone. Around her elbow was a similar bag to Mikoto's.

Mikoto's face brightened as she recognized the girl.

However before she managed to call her attention someone had stolen it.

"Oh Misaka-san what a surprise to see you!"

A sickeningly sweet voice greeted her.

Mikoto felt a twinge of irritation and distaste coming up her mind as she heard that voice. 'Of all the Espers in this city it had to be her.'

"Oh, it's you." She said as she turned around. "A rather unexpected surprise to see you around here, Shoukuhou-san."

"I believe the correct sentence would be "a pleasant surprise," hmmmm, Misaka-saaaaan? I mean, I wouldn't want any bad blood between the both of us, it would be bad for everyone involved." Despite the words of concern the honey queen's tone was anything but kind.

Of all the people Mikoto Misaka had the pleasure to meeting up along the road, she couldn't say the same for Misaki Shokuhou, the Queen of Tokiwadai, the #5 Level 5 Esper, Mental Out.

Her, and that idiot.

Armed with the strongest mental ability she could, with a flick of her remote, instantly any person she comes into eye or physical contact with, fall under her control, willing to perform tasks for her convenience. Add to her telepathic abilities, a paranoiac nature, and a seeming mutual dislike for the electric girl, and you get Misaki Shokuhou.

"Aww, that frown in that pretty face of yours isn't gonna do you any favors. Here, let me help out with that."

A beep was heard behind the honey blonde.

Then the air in front of Misaka had rippled, slight shocks erupting as an invisible force slammed into Misaka's field of electrical energy.

Misaka resisted the urge to scream as the pain slowly subsided. This had happened several times in the past already, that she had started to get used to it.

Seeing Shokuhou's smug smirk still plastered on her face deeply angered the brunette, however she didn't want to make a scene right now. Not when lots of people were around them.

While the street there were on was mostly empty there were a couple students walking about, some taking a glance at the two girls before taking their eyes off.

"Apparently Mitsuika had an appointment with some researchers so she might not be able to join u-... Oh, hello there Misaka-san!" Another voice joined the two girls.

A girl with large ringlets greeted Misaka as she apparently walked into frame. They had a slender, petite figure, although much to Misaka's dismay her chest was well-defined for her age.

"Heard a commotion in here, what is going on- Wait Misaka-san? What are you doing here?" Misaka froze in shock, the familiar voice behind her greeting the brunette, ignorant of the tension.

Shokuhou, for her part, looked rather unperturbed by this turn of events. Almost as if she was used to such embarrassing moments.

"What's with the bag? Oh, are you going to the office today to greet Shirai and the others? Maybe try it next time, Uiharu texted me and said that they are very busy right now so they may not be able to catch up with u-"

Mikoto looked behind her to see Saten with glazed, unfocused eyes, almost as if in a trance. There were small stars in her pupils, which to those unaware would be cause for concern.

However Mikoto felt a surge of rage fill her mind. She turned back to Misaki.

"WHAT DID YOU DO!? TURN HER BACK NOW!" She exploded, and was about to grab the honey blonde's collar when her wrist was grabbed by the ringlets girl. She noticed she had the same expression as Saten did, although the difference is that she moved to protect Misaki.

"Misaka-san while it is admirable to see your caring ability towards your friends I suggest I'd not be the target of your rageful power. I rather not smell like ash and soot by the end of this." Misaki said, her nonchalance clashing with her challenging words.

"...What do you want Shokuhou? Can't you just go one day not turning people into your personal puppets?"

"Oh relax Misaka," Misaki said. "I'm not the type of girl who goes around and follows one specific individual and wishes nothing but misfortune on them, that's rather too much for my principles ability. Do think of this as just an unfortunate coincidence, that's all." Shokuhou started to walk away, with the ringlets girl in tow.

Mikoto nearly sighed in relief when she immediately realized that Ruiko was still in a trance. Turning around to check on her she saw her merely staring at her.

"Hey Misaka, what's up? Wanting to go to the office? I think the girls are prettt busy today, so they may have any time to catch up." Saten said to Mikoto, unaware of her earlier situation.

Mikoto quickly glanced behind her, only to see Shokuhou and her lackey gone.

"Misaka-san?"

"...Hmm? Oh it's nothing, I thought I saw... someone familiar. Meh, probably nothing. So they won't be able to come eh? But I got these sweets for them."

"Well, maybe you could save it until they're done. Let's go find a place to catch up with them, k?"

"Yeah sure, sounds fine to me." While they walked without trouble, Mikoto can't help but look behind her.

'I can't stand her.

"I can't stand her."

Misaki muttered to herself. It was supposed to be a fine afternoon, however Luck had decided to shit on her day and have her inadvertently meet with that girl.

'If only she hadn't that psychic field power of hers...' she darkly thought, her slight grimace wrinkling her small pretty nose.

"My Queen? Is something the matter?" Junko Hokaze asked in concern.

"Hmm? Oh it's nothing. Say, did you say something?"

"Queen you didn't listen to a word I said?"

"Sorry, I was rather... occupied by some personal matters. If you don't mind."

"Oh. It's alright then, I don't mean to pry. Forgive me if I sound rather rude."

"Oh Junko-chan, it's no matter honestly, let us order our snacks before we go ok?"

"Sure thing my dear Queen!" Junko said excitedly. Her phone pinged as a message came in. "Oh, it might be Kimiko-san. Give me a moment."

"Sure thing." As Junko got up the table and picked up her phone Shokuhou was left in the table.

Misaki Shokuhou sighed.

"Uraaaaaaahhh... Man, so fucking sleepy... I can't even wake up walk properly."

Kamijou groaned to himself, closing the dorm room door behind him. He would normally go for a can, however as they had all run out he couldn't buy them last night.

And in no fucking way was he getting coffee from vending machines. He learned his lesson from that point on.

The cold shower was nice though.

"Hopefully I can pass these assignments before Oyafune's class starts." Kamijou said as he glanced out in the balcony of the third story building.

...wait a minute. Third story? Kamijou thought. He looked down to the ground.

Kamijou shrugged to himself as he walked off to the end of the hallway.

Only to leap over the railing and jump down the dorm.

Huh, so he has strong ankles to absorb the shock of the fall. And it seems his joints are okay.

Well, seems that a fall from that height he could survive. Really hoped that no one could see him.

"Hey kid, you okay over there? That's a pretty nasty fall you did."

"Well shit." Kamijou muttered to himself as he turned around to see where the voice was.

They were an old man, probably a foreigner, with grey hair, a large pair of square glasses, and a grey mustache.

"It's okay man, not even hurt. See?" Kamijou raised his legs to show him not hurt.

"Oh, well that's a relief. I'm still not getting used to this place, hehehe." The old man chuckled as he left.

Kamijou thought about talking to the man, but he then realized that he was running late so he took off.

Unbeknownst to him a stack of papers went flying across the air.

"If you can brush your teeth with your fingers, what's the point in using a toothbrush?" Motoharu said.

"It's unsanitary man! Also you have to wash your hands vigorously!" Aogami replied.

"Oh, well if that was the case then I'll take it."

"Also a toothbrush is more effective than a damn finger! You can't reach in between the gaps of your teeth with a finger. Toothbrushes are superior!"

"I'll let you know good sir, that I have been brushing my teeth with nothing my bare fingers, and a dot of toothpaste. And look at my teeth!!! All clean and healthy!!!" Motoharu grinned showing his teeth.

"I don't care! That is too sick even for me! Disgustaaaaaaaang!!!!" Aogami cried out.

"Since when did we talk about this? I mean, just a minute ago you guys were talking about cat lolis and dino maids, then we're talking about toothbrushes suddenly?" Touma spoke up.

"Well do you have anything to talk about Kami?" Aogami and Motoharu asked him in unison.

"Haaaah... no..."

"Then screw off."

To the uninitiated that would make even the most foolhardy of warriors piss their pants in terror (at least it's what the two thought in their minds) but Touma merely rolled his eyes and left the classroom.

He didn't notice his shades-wearing classmate glance at him as he left.

It was a sunny Monday afternoon. Ms. Oyafune's math class has finished by the time 2 of the Delta Trio had their unusual discussion. Touma had no choice but to excuse himself from the argument, to avoid losing too much of his precious brain cells from being fried.

"The last thing I need right now is their stupid talk ruining my chances of raising my grades, and I really need those grades immediately." Touma sighed out and slumped his way to the bathroom. However he bumped into somebody, papers dropping to the ground.

"Oh crap, sorry for bumping into you I didn't-"

"No no it's ok I wasn't watching-"

Both teens stared at each for a short while, before, "Oh Seiri. What's up?"

"Doing good. Now could you help me?"

"Yeah sure."

"It must be difficult with all the stuff you had to do with the teachers."

"I wouldn't have had a hard time if it weren't for that no-good perverted class representative of ours," she angrily said, a blue-haired teen with piercings coming to mind.

"Yeah," Touma deadpanned. After picking up the dropped papers and going to the bathroom, he helped out Seiri with bringing the papers to the other classes.

"Must've been tiring, having to deal with all the stuff for the upcoming Daihasei Festival."

"Wouldn't you know it. While the others are going and making sure they can get enough money to get a budget big enough for all the tents, uniforms and supplies here I am busting my ass trying to procure these necessities. I also have to help out with Yomikawa-sensei's work with the upcoming tests for this quarter."

"Hm."

Kamijou was nervous, talking to her. Who wouldn't be?

The last time they had an interaction he inadvertently molested her in the mall. He had no idea why his power acted up that time, and he definitely did not appreciate that fucking asshole making this worse.

While their face wasn't anything noteworthy (even more so compared to Kamijou) he could distinctly remember that spiky blonde hair, and orange jacket.

'Imma get a word with him if we meet again.' Touma resolved to himself.

"Now about your attendance, Kamijou..." Seiri sternly said.

"W-what about it? Something wrong?" He said worried. His classmate's glare didn't help either. The tension stayed until he heard a sigh come out from her mouth, and her glare softening.

"I don't claim to know what's going on, but keep up your attendance record and you'll probably get through the whole school year without trouble." Seiri said to him, with a stern look on her face, but hint of concern and relief was present.

"U-uh yeah, sure. I'll try."

"No, don't try it. Do it. Because no one's going to wait for you. Got it?"

"Got it." Touma said smiling. After a while walking they both finished up with the task. Walking back to their classroom Touma couldn't help but think about what his powers had given him.

Touma's misfortune has made things harder for him to keep up a clean school record. His absences, lack of homework and assignments, and the various series of chaos he had caused over and over again hasn't been a good thing to his reputation. He had since gotten used to it, but deep down he wanted a way to at the very least, be able to be a better student.

Until these powers were given to him.

Not that it was an instant fix, but over time his powers have helped him in his school life. Due to his Foresight (name subject to change) he has been in less fights than before, and on the off chance he involved himself with fighting other people, his Foresight has helped out with fighting off thugs.

That said it was infuriating that his Foresight hasn't helped him out in dealing with stressful and embarrasing situations.

It could really have helped with something like the Ultimax Ramen Incident.

Not to mention the last 5 days he spent fighting and helping people.

Touma actually thought, for once, that life has decided to give him a break, that things are actually looking up for him...

...until he slipped.

Fortunately for Touma his Foresight kicked in, allowing himself to catch himself before he fell, holding on the wall beside him.

Or what he thought was a wall, until he unconsciously squeezed, realizing the softness and firmness of the surface he caught on to.

"How long do you intend to grope me, Kamijou?" Touma quickly turned to his side, only to see an angry Seiri glaring at him.

"Ah, I can explain."

"Explain it to me after you let go of my breast."

Touma quickly let go of her, spun around and got on a kneeling position, profusely apologizing to the iron walled girl.

Seiri merely sighed. "Get up, we'll be late for the next lesson."

Seiri walked away, along with the papers. As her back was turned to him he didn't see her flushed face. Kamijou however was left there, pondering on what had happened.

"...So you're not mad that I held you inappropriately Fukiyose-sama?"

He got kicked in the head for his troubles.

Kamijou rubbed his swelling face as he got up the stairs of his dormitory. It was nearing nighttime, and because of that he had to go to a convenience store to buy his daily essentials. Apart from the occasional thug and pickpocket (which he avoided with his Foresight), the trip back home was strangely uneventful.

Well, that and the fact that he lost his homework. Again.

Oyafune and Fukiyose did not let it up again.

"Hello Kamijou-san! How has your day been?" A female voice called out to him. Touma turned his head to see a young girl of around 14 years. She wore a maid uniform and she was sitting on top of a cleaner robot. The robot was also spinning, with her on top of it, yet despite all of that she never seems to get dizzy from all the spinning.

"Hey Maika, what's up? How are your duties going with ya?" Touma greeted the maid, now called Maika.

"Oh it's doing pretty good. Just had a hard time with some of the chores but I managed to pull through. And seriously what happened to your face?"

"Oh I fell again, this time very hard. No worries a few painkillers and it'll be nothing."

"I see. Speaking of which, have you seen my brother around? I went into his room today and there was no trace of him."

"No, can't say I have. Haven't got a clue where he went."

"Well, that's a pickle. Anyway I gotta go. See you around Mr. Kamijou!" And with that the young maid rode her trusty cleaner robot and left the dorm at full speed.

Touma sweatdropped. "I swear both Motoharu and his sister are quite a bunch," he laughed. Standing in front of his door he put his hands into his pockets.

Pulling out the keys to his dorm room he opened the door, to be greeted by an empty, dim room.

Nevertheless, he truly smiled.

Dropping his bags and small bag kf groceries on the table he laid his himself on the bed, sprawled over.

He took a deep breath, and listened to his instincts. Nothing. Nothing noteworthy was happening.

Maybe it might change after a few minutes, but honestly after the crazy 4 (or 5?) days that happened a couple minutes of rest was a godsend for a misfortunate boy like him.

"Home sweet home."

But if there's one thing he wished... it's that..

"Hopefully things like this would happen from time to time."

A lone woman stood alone, in a dark room. Her clothes were that of a researcher's, although her long messy hair and eyebags clashed with her attire.

As she put her hand forward, a large icicle created itself in front of her. With a push of her hand she shoots the large spike into the wall.

As the gigantic icicle smashes into the wall, debris and dust spreads out from the site. Kiyama coughs out the dust from her lungs, and looks over to the wall where the icicle smashed into.

She saw a giant crater onto the wall.

"Nothing in this city will stop me. No one will stand in my way. Not the Board. Not Judgement, Anti Skill. And not even him."

As she walked over to the scene, she puts her hand into the crater.

"Mark my words, Kihara..."

She clenched her hand into a fist.

"I will make you pay."

"I'm quite surprised as to what this... gift is. I'm confused, is this some sort of a prank?"

"Hmhmhmhmhm, I assure you, Kihara-kun, what you have in your hands isn't something you can just take off in a random house. Remember SynCorp?"

"Ah yes, that fledgeling company that was bought a week ago by an entrepreneur from America. Pretty odd man, he was. I thought my hand would've been crushed by his hands."

"Yes, he's quite a man. But he is of no matter for now. I need you to study this for a while. Afterwards you may report your findings to me."

"Will do, Superintendent." The hologram closed as Kasei Kihara looked at the small glass box, containing the coin-sized spider.

"Fascinating."

The youthful Kihara's mouth split into a goblin-like smile.
