An Aunt's Love
After Jill left with the kids Nica started deeply thinking as she was still watching the home movie. Nica then turned her attention to the address label from the package that Chucky came in, the one that didn't have a return label. She then decided to call the post office.
"I'll be right back," Nica said and rolled her wheelchair to the phone. But unfortunately there was no dial tone. She hung up the phone and tried to use her cell phone, but there was no signal and said it's unable to connect to cellular network. Nica sighed annoyed.
Meanwhile Jill was looking under the beds for Chucky while Alice was brushing her hair and James was brushing his teeth. While brushing his teeth James was thinking to himself how this was the second time Chucky disappeared and was hiding from them. But why?
Little did Jill and the kids know someone was watching them.
"Are you sure one of you didn't just leave him downstairs?" Jill asked the kids, after searching one of the suitcases and the closet.
"I told you I left him on the chair close to my bed," James said pointing to said chair, "And after I turned away and then turned back he was gone. Besides Ally and I looked downstairs already. I don't know why he's hiding from us."
"Jay is right," Alice defends her brother, "He's hiding."
The kids then saw him in the mirror and he was running.
"There he goes," Alice said turning around.
"Come on Sandy," James said holding his stuffed dog and ran out of the room chasing after Chucky.
"I am not in the mood for this," Jill said annoyed and went to get Chucky and go after the youngest Pierce.
James was running downstairs after Chucky, but then he quickly lost him. James frowns to himself. Was Chucky trying to play a game of hide and seek or tag? But doesn't he know it's way too late to be playing?
James then hears his mom's and Jill's voices coming from the kitchen. He walks into the kitchen only to find a shock that made the boy stop and freeze. His mommy and Jill were kissing.
"God I've missed you," Jill spoke softly.
"Shut up," Barb said. They go back to kissing each other.
James couldn't believe his eyes as tears starting forming in them. Why were his mommy and nanny kissing each other? Wasn't that what mommies and daddies do?
"Mommy? Jill?" James asks softly almost like a whisper. But they must've not heard him, because they kept kissing.
James slowly backed away out of the kitchen as tears were falling. He then ran as far as he could away from there. He then saw his aunt and immediately went to her.
"James honey? What are you doing down here?" Nica asked.
But instead of answering her, James hugged his aunt while he was softly crying. Nica was shocked and concern by his nephew's actions, she picked him up and held him in his arms, as he continued to cry while hugging her. She rocked him gently while he was on her lap.
"Shhh. Baby it's okay, it's okay, you're okay," Nica soothes her nephew.
"Au-Auntie Nica," James whimpers. "I saw Mommy and Jill in the kitchen and they were...they were..." But James started tearing up again.
Nica strokes James's hair to calm him down. "It's okay. You don't have to say anything I'll ask your mother about it later."
James finally stops crying, but was still whimpering. Nica rubs soothing circles into her nephew's back and hums a soothing lullaby until James completely calms down.
"Now I have a present that I would like to give you," Nica said.
"Another present?" James asked.
"Well if I hadn't already gotten you your birthday present I would've given Chucky just to you," Nica explains, "I'm sorry I couldn't make it to your actual birthday."
"It's okay Auntie Nica," James said, "I know it's not your fault."
They took the elevator up to Nica's room where she went to her closet where she pulled out a present that was wrapped in blue wrapping paper with Happy Birthday written all over it and a white bow. Nica then handed James the present. The young boy smiled at his aunt and opened it, when he saw it he gasped and smiled happily. It was a Darth Vader action figure, James was a big fan of Star Wars.
"Thank you Auntie Nica," James cries happily and first hugs his new toy and then he hugged his aunt.
Nica chuckles, "You're welcome. Now can tell me why you were downstairs?"
"Ally and I saw Chucky running and Sandy and I went after him, but we lost him," James explains with a frown.
"Well then how about we go downstairs and look for Chucky together?" Nica asked.
James smiles and nods, and then asked, "Auntie Nica, can I please sleep with you tonight? I know Jill sleeps in the same room as me and Ally, but I don't want to be near her right now."
Nica nods, "I understand, but we'll have to ask your mother if it's okay. She's been acting like a real pain enough as it is since coming here."
"I'm sorry," James said.
"It's not your fault James. Your mother's behavior isn't your fault or Alice's, so never think that way," Nica tells her nephew.
James nods, "Okay. Just let me put Darth Vader away quickly."
James then quickly ran into the room he, Alice and Jill were sleeping. He told Alice that he and Nica were going to look downstairs for Chucky and that he just wanted to put Darth Vader away so Barb wouldn't see him. But he didn't tell Alice that he saw their mom and nanny kissing, mostly because he still didn't understand why they were doing that.
James then ran back to Nica with just his stuffed dog plush and they went back down by elevator. While they were going down, James smiles at Nica and gives her another hug, feeling as if nothing in the world can keep them apart.
Sorry this chapter isn't very long, but the next one will be longer.
