Since I'm having a stomach flu and had to reschedule my appointments today, I was able to write a new chapter. But I'm still not sure when I will post a new chapter, because I still don't feel well and I still have some things to take care of.

Enemy Of My Enemy

At the foot of the temple, the Inquisitors, the Jedi, and Fallen Sith all stood in a stand-off. "So, the rumors are true, Darth Maul lives," Seventh Sister said.

Maul steps forward, walking pass the Jedi as Quinlan glares at him. "Formerly Darth, now just Maul," he corrects her.

Quinlan pulls Lita protectively behind him, making her look up at the Kiffar Jedi.

"Ezra, step away from him," Kanan warns him.

"Kanan, I swear he's on our side!" Ezra assures him.

"Are you sure about that?" Lita asked raising an eyebrow.

"Perhaps my actions will speak louder than words," Maul reassures Ezra. He then pulls out a piece from his cane, igniting his double-bladed lightsaber.

Then he jumps into action and began to fight off the Inquisitors. "What are we waiting for?" Ezra questions as he ignites his lightsaber.

Maul proved to be an impossible asset to kill as he was effectively dodging their attacks. Then Quinlan jumps in and delivers a swift kick at the Eighth Brother's face. The Jedi stayed in their place as they watched Maul and Quinlan fight them off.

"Why would you come here?" Seventh Sister questions Maul as their blades collide.

"He knows of the artifact," Fifth Brother replies, then went to attack.

But Quinlan and Kanan stop him. Eighth Brother tries to attack, but Ahsoka and Lita stop him and they were in a standoff. "The Holocron, do you have it?" he questions.

Maul grins to himself. "You will find out soon enough," Maul assures him.

Seventh Sister just growls to herself. "Fall back!" she orders.

Maul swings at them, but he misses as their blades twirl lifting them off the ground, retreating into the cavern. Lita tries to go after them, but Quinlan pulls her back.

"Maul, what game are you playing?" Ahsoka questions as Quinlan puts a protective arm on Lita's shoulder.

Maul tosses his cane to the side. "The end game, Lady Tano," he answers and looks to the Temple. "The End Game," he mutters to himself.

And what is his end game? Lita wonders to herself as she turns off her lightsaber.

"I am the enemy of your enemy now, and I have my reasons for wanting the Empire to fall. But we have little time." he informs them. "The one they call Vader will be here soon." he tells them.

"Father," Lita whispers softly that only Ezra and Quinlan heard her.

"How do you know this?" Kanan asks him, deactivating his lightsaber, Maul turns to them.

"His dogs will tell him where we are," he said as the others deactivates their lightsabers "Four Jedi, and a part-timer" Maul informs them. "Oh he will come. He will not be able to resist us," he informs, looking at Lita he added, "Particularly you." Making Quinlan pull Lita behind him and Rori growl.

"Okay, hold on, there is no us. Dealing with Inquisitors is one thing, Vader is another," Kanan informs him, "And I'm not convinced we're all on the same side anyway," he points out.

But Ezra steps forward. "Kanan, we should trust him," he points out, making his master look at him. "Uh, look! He and I took this from the temple together!" he said, showing them the holocron.

Lita stepped out from behind Quinlan and walked closer to look at the holocron in his hands, "This is why we came here, right?" Ezra questions, making Kanan, Quinlan, and Ahsoka exchange look, "To find out about the Sith. To find a way to beat them. Ahsoka, you said we came here for knowledge," Ezra went on.

"Ezra, there is no way a Jedi can unlock that holocron," Ahsoka informs him.

"But a Sith could," Lita answers, "Or at least one who thinks like one."

"Lita we're not Sith," Ahsoka told her.

"But she's right and you may unlock the temple itself." Maul points out, Quinlan shot a glare at him and Lita frowned while looking at him as if she was trying to remember something.

"How? Tell me how," Ezra asks him.

Maul points above them. "At the top of the temple is a chamber. Connect the holocron to the obelisk within and you can unlock the ancient knowledge of the Sith," he informs them, walking through them.

"Why are you working so hard to keep us here?" Ahsoka questions him, making Maul stop.

"I cannot defeat Vader alone," Maul said. Lita gives a small smirk at what he said.

"I say we stay with him," Ezra points out.

"I agree with Ezra," Lita said, "I don't trust Maul, but I trust the Force." Lita then says to herself. And I'm willing to tolerate Maul if it means saving my father.

"Yeah? Well, I say we go, so that settles it," Kanan tells him.

Maul just scoffs at him, "Are you such cowards that you would run from this chance to defeat your enemies? Who slaughtered your friends?" he questions.

Ezra then looks to his master. "Kanan?" he asks.

Kanan just looks to Ezra and then to Lita as she looks at him, Quinlan and Ahsoka nod to him. He then sighs in defeat pulling out his comlink. "Chopper, we're staying for a while," he informs their getaway droid.

Chopper grumbles into the comlink, and D-3PO adds, "Sir I have to agree with Chopper this is a bad idea."

"Yeah, I know it's a bad idea. Just scan for incoming ships, and keep the Phantom out of sight," Kanan tells him.

"And stay with Chopper D," Lita said to her protocol droid.

Chopper grumbles again before Kanan places his comlink away.

"Oh, how exciting. We're all on the same side," Maul said with excitement.

But Quinlan immediately turns to him, placing his hand on his chest, and lightly shoving him back. "Let's get one thing straight here, Maul," he snaps, turning to him. "We may have the same goal, but we will never be on the same side," he declares and whispers, "And don't think that I forgotten what you did to Qui-gon."

Maul grins as Quinlan raised his hands, "This..." pointing between them, "Is a temporary truce," Quinlan snaps.

Maul took a step back, "Of course, Master Jedi," he said withholding his sinister grin.

Kanan steps up behind him, "Just show us how to get to the top, and hurry." Kanan orders him.

Maul just grins at him, "This way." he said, walking away. The Jedi followed after him. Unknown to them, a little probe droid floats out of the shadows, watching them.
