Never had Gaff cried so much as he did that moment. His whole body quaked as he sobbed, coughed, and hiccuped. Itachi just held him close, letting him cry.

"Hush, little brother," Itachi said. "Hush your tears, little hunter."

"I almost killed you," Gaff sobbed. "I almost did it."

Itachi nuzzled him in a sibling way, calming Gaff down. "My little brother, I missed you so much," he said.

"I would say the same, but my memories are-," Gaff said miserably.

"She stole them from you," Itachi said before he winced painfully. "How did you know where to find me?"

"Your mate asked me to save you."

"Leilani," Itachi looked relieved. "She's safe?"

"I found her and brought her to my ship," Gaff said. He swallowed uneasily. "She was in pain when I found her and at the ship-"

Itachi didn't like the way Gaff stopped. "Please," he begged. "Tell me."

Gaff looked at him. "She's in labor."

"Labor!" Itachi said. "No! She can't be!"

Gaff looked at him. "Brother, she is. The stress she is under caused her to go into early labor. She begged me to save you, saying how important your baby is."

"Our little one especially now," Itachi looked at Zoar's corpse. "Now that I know the truth about what I am."

"Then let's go," Gaff said. "I'll take you back to her."

"No."

"No? What do you mean no? Itachi, she needs you!"

"I know, little brother, but I cannot leave yet," Itachi said. "I cannot leave until I see Genghis dead."

"Genghis is your brother!" Jimbei said, shocked.

"Yes," Marcus said, tears streaming down his face. "I thought he might be dead after what happened between us, but I was wrong."

"What do you mean, dad?" Tarl asked.

"Genghis," Marcus said, unable to control his tears. "My brother murdered our family! He killed them, and it didn't even bother him that he had done it. What he did to our siblings- oh god, I can't get those images out of my mind!"

"Marcus, what did he do?" Blade asked.

The old mako looked up at him. "He ate them! He killed and ate them!"

His words shocked everyone present.

"He what?" Nami said. "Marcus, you really can't be serious?"

"I do not lie," Marcus said. "I couldn't believe it myself but to hear Genghis admit to such a crime as if it were nothing. I never understood why my brother did it. Our parents were very loving and gentle souls. They never mistreated us, so I never understood Genghis' reasons for killing our family."

"It proves he has always been a monster," Jimbei said. "Especially after what he did in the Fishman District."

"The Fishman District?" Marcus said. "My brother was there? Why?"

Jimbei looked at Marcus, his expression neutral. "Genghis was known as the Monster of the Fishman District after he killed and eaten not only those of the District but invading pirates. Fisher Tiger finally put a stop to it after the taking of Shyarly. Arlong was nearly crazy when he couldn't find her."

"Shyarly! My brother almost killed my daughter!"

"Yes, but we saved her in time," Jimbei said.

"Uncle, you said Fisher Tiger stopped it," Riptide said. "Are you saying that he fought Genghis?"

Jimbei nodded and proceeded to tell the story of the fight between Genghis and Fisher Tiger. "We all believed that he was dead, but when recovery of the body was supposed to happen, we learned that there wasn't a body to recover."

"Leaving Fishman Island, to say the least," Riptide said. "Going by those injuries, he needed a long time to recover completely."

"So what do you want to do now, Capn'?" Ryder asked.

"We head back to Wavecutter and discuss how we handle Genghis," Riptide said. "I can't let him continue his reign of terror."

"It's an ancient warship," Crab said in awe.

The three Fishmen stood looking at Wavecutter, surprised by the ship's condition and the sheer size of the warship. All three knew Scales would want a warship like this.

"First we find the human, and then we find and kill the captain and his first mate," Blade said.

Stinger was grinning. "Then we'll give the ship's crew a choice; join us or die."

"I like that idea," Crab said. "We sail this beauty back to Scales. Oh, he'll be so happy to see this ship."

Eager to complete their task, the three board the warship.

Slashback was in his room going through a small notebook he kept hidden. The book contained every female, no matter the species or race they were from; he had tricked, captured, and sold. He also had a copy of the slave list from the Auction House.

Slashback frowned at the price for Fish-men. "1,000,000+ Beli," he said with a snort. "I'm sure I can get more from a private sale, especially for that rare beauty." The young sawtooth giggled. "She'll make a good breeding female even if she's a stinking hybrid."

A knock on his door startled him.

"Who is it?" he said.

"It's me, Slashback," Destiny said. "Can we talk?"

Slashback grinned. Oh, he couldn't have planned this any better! He placed his notebook under the mattress of his bed before he opened the door. Destiny stood looking a little uneasy, and Slashback played his act once again as the lovesick sawtooth for her. "Des, is something wrong?"

"I was hoping we could talk," Destiny said. "About us."

"What about us?"

"Please, Slash, can we just talk?"

"Yeah yeah," he said, acting still angry. Finally, he stepped aside, letting Destiny enter. "Going to defend your lover?"

"Slash, I told you that Gaff is a friend," Destiny said. "The only one I have feelings for is you and only you."

"Feelings for me?" he said with fake surprise.

Destiny nodded. "I love you, Slashback, and I want to be with you."

Slashback was very good at his act, but Destiny's confession had surprised him. Even more so as she stroked his cheek lovingly, looking at him with such love. "I don't know what to say," he said.

"Maybe this will help," Destiny said before leaning in to kiss him.

Slashback tried to resist the urge to kiss her back, but he couldn't. So instead, he pulled her to him, deepening the kiss. How far the kiss might have gone is hard to say, for there was a crash against the door at that moment.

"What was that?!" Slashback said.

"I don't know," Destiny said.

Curious about the cause, Slashback opened the door and stepped out, followed by Destiny.

"Long!" Destiny said, seeing her brother lying on the floor.

~~Moments Earlier~~

Long had just left the infirmary, having delivered a pitcher of hot water and towels for Skie. The copper hybrid was concerned over their guest, especially since she was in early labor. He would make sure to make a special meal for the soon-to-be mom so she could regain her strength.

"Husband, forgive me," Neeta said before he left. "Skie will need my help here."

"I understand," Long said. "Can handle making dinner."

Neeta smiled as she kissed his cheek. "I love you, Long."

"Love you too," Long said.

He approached the steps when a shadow fell upon, and he looked up. Looking at him were three Fishmen, and he got an uneasy feeling. "Who you?" Long asked.

"Listen to that little retard shark," Crab said with a cruel laugh. "He's going to be fun to take apart."

"Fight? Why fight?" Long said as he backed away, trying not to shake. "I only cook."

Crab clacked his claws together; then, without warning, he lunged for Long. Long was so surprised that he didn't have time to avoid Crab, who brought his claws down with such powerful force that it could quickly kill a human, following it up with a back claw attack that sent the copper crashing against Slashback's bedroom door. Long fell to the floor and laid still.

~~Present Time~~

"Long!" Destiny rushed to her brother. "Please, Long, open your eyes."

"What do we have here?"

Destiny looked up to see Crab, Stinger, and Blade. "Who the hell are you? What are you doing on our ship?"

"Here to collect a pregnant human female, but seeing you, I think you'll make a better present for Genghis," Stinger said, turning to Crab. "Grab her."

"Don't even think about it, you fucking assholes!"

The trio looked up. "Look who it is," Crab said, eyes narrowing. "I didn't think we ever find you here, Slavetooth."

Destiny looked at Slashback, confused. "Slavetooth? Slash, what is going on? Who are these three?"

Slashback ignored her. "Well, you did," he said. "Scales send you losers to find me?"

"No, but he'll be pleased when we tell him that we killed ya," Stinger said."He hasn't forgiven you for what you nearly did to Ianna."

The young sawtooth sneered as he spat off to the side. "Ah, is he still sore over that?" he said. "I would have gotten a decent amount of Beli for her if he hadn't interfered with my business."

"You just lucky with that escape of yours," Blade said. "But you're not getting away from us."

The sawtooth laughed as he drew his throwing knives. "I wasn't planning to not without my prize. I can't be leaving this rare silver beauty behind."

"Slash-"

"Shut up bitch!" Slashback said as he struck Destiny behind the head. Hard. Destiny slumped to the floor unconscious as the five-gill sawtooth stared down Blade, Stinger, and Crab. "Let's go, you bastards."

"Fine with us," Stinger said.

"I can see the head," Skie said."One more strong push."

The girl was tiring and quickly. "I can't…" she said, looking so drained. "I can't do it…I just can't!"

"Yes, you can," Skie said. "Your baby is almost here. You need to give it all your strength."

"I'll help you," Neeta said as she pushed down on the girl's belly.

"That's it!" Skie said as the baby was born. The female sawtooth cleaned the baby up and cleared the mouth. Newborn cries filled the air. "We have a boy!"

Neeta was grinning he hands still on the new mom's belly, and then her attention went to the feeling of movement. "Skie, I feel more movement. I think there's another baby."

"What?" Skie wrapped the newborn boy up and checked. "Neeta, push down, or we'll lose this one."

It didn't take much, and soon, a second life came into the world. "It's a girl," Skie said proudly after cleaning the second baby up." So, Congratulations, mom, you have twins."

The door of the infirmary burst open, alarming Skie and Neeta. A blood-covered Blade entered armed with two blades. The swordfish Fishman glared at the crying newborns before shifting his attention to their weak and tired mother. Before he even took a step, Neeta charged him, talons slashing at him, followed by the snapping of her teeth. Blade stumbled backward, falling in the hall.

"It's one of those fucking Kudas!"

Neeta shifted her attention down the hall, spotting Stinger with Crab, who had Destiny slung over his shoulder—laying before them was Slashback, and -Long! Seeing her husband lying unmoving sent Neeta into a rage. She unleashed a screech of fury, charging the trio.

"Shit!" Stinger said. "Let's get out here!"

Blade got between his comrades, his swords up only to have Neeta shatter the sword blades as if they were nothing. He barely avoided getting his throat ripped out as he dodged an enraged Neeta. The swordfish quickly followed Stinger and Crab up the stairs.

Out on deck, the trio found themselves facing the nightmares of Sunflash and Butch. However, seeing that Destiny was a hostage, the brothers were forced to hold back as the trio escaped.

"Damn it!" Butch snarled.

From below, there was a scream that drew their attention. Sunflash went below deck and barely stepped off the stairs for deck 2 when he saw the rest of their crewmates crowding the hall. The velociraptor joined them and saw Long and Slashback, who was lying in a pool of his blood face down.

"Are they alive?" Thor asked.

Skie checked Long, breathing a sigh of relief. "Yes."

Longtooth was crouched next to Slashback. "Someone get a sheet," he said grimly.

Skie looked at the shortfin mako. "Longtooth…?"

"You heard me!" he snapped. "Get a sheet so we can cover him."

Kaiuleale, Ryder's son, looked uneasy as the rest of the Saws realized the horrible truth. "Are you saying he's…?"

"Dead?" Longtooth said. "That he is. What the hell happened?"

"Three strange Fishmen boarded our ship," Neeta said. "We don't know of it until one of them, a swordfish man, entered the infirmary. He was covered in blood and was going to kill that mother and her newborn twins."

"What mother and what newborn twins?" Longtooth asked.

"Gaff found a young woman who was going into early labor and brought her here," Skie said. "We know that is Itachi's wife and asked for Gaff to help save Itachi."

"So, you brought the enemy on board!" Longtooth yelled.

"Now see here," Skie retorted. "The poor girl required medical aid, and Gaff did what he felt was right."

"Where is Gaff now?" Longtooth said.

"The last I saw him was when Destiny was giving him hell for refusing to do what that poor girl asked of him," Neeta said. The female Kuda narrowed her eyes at Longtooth. "Don't you even dare accuse Gaff of being a traitor!"

"He isn't here, is he?" Longtooth said.

"That doesn't mean he is a traitor!" Neeta snapped. "I know Gaff, and he is no traitor!"

Grinder, curious about something, had gone into Slashback's room and found it ransacked. What clothes he owned were all over the floor, and the bedsheets were torn off the bed.

'What could those Fishmen been in search of,' he wondered as he carefully looked around. Grinder had moved the bedsheets and saw something sticking out from underneath the mattress. "What is this?'

Grinder pulled out a notebook, and he opened it; what he saw and read chilled him to his very core. Slashback wasn't who he said he was! The ancient saw shark hurried from the room, holding the notebook up. "He was a traitor! Slashback was a lying traitor!"

Longtooth and the others looked up. "What are you babbling about?" Longtooth said.

"This," Grinder handed the notebook to the mako. "Read it."

Longtooth did as asked. "What the fucking hell?!" he said before glancing at the covered body of the young deceased sawtooth. "You little piece of shit. You're lucky you are dead, or I would fucking kill you myself."

Hearing Longtooth speaking in disrespect for poor Slashback shocked the Saws.

"Longtooth, how could you say that?" Skie said.

"You would too if you just read this," Longtooth said, holding the notebook up. "Slashback wasn't even his name. His name is Slavetooth, a fucking slaver by trade."

"A slaver!" Thor said. The hammerhead looked alarmed. "I didn't think another Fishman would do such an evil thing."

"It appears he was doing for it for a few years," Longtooth said before he spat on the corpse. "Destiny was his prime target this time."

"Those other Fishmen have Destiny!" Sunflash said. "Butch and I couldn't attack because they had her."

"What?" Longtooth said. "We have to go after them and get her back."

"Riptide and the others are coming back!" Butch bellowed from above.

"Shit," Longtooth said. "This isn't going to be pretty."

"What do you want to do?" Kauileale said.

"Get Long to the infirmary,"

"What about him?" Zanfar said, gesturing to the traitorous sawtooth's body.

"Toss him overboard," the mako snarled. "He doesn't deserve a burial."

Riptide sensed something was wrong as he and the others arrived at Wavecutter. The moment he stepped onto the deck of the warship, he took note of how Butch was acting strange. The Spinosaurus was fidgety, and he kept glancing toward the steps for the lower decks.

"Butch, is something wrong?" Riptide asked.

"I don't know what is goin on myself, but I can smell blood from below," Butch said. "Sun went below after –."

"After what?" Riptide asked.

"After Three strange Fishmen took destiny," Longtooth said as he stepped onto the deck. "Capt, I hate to report this, but Long is hurt, and we have a death."

"My baby is hurt!" Nami said, rushing below decks.

"Who be da death?" Blade asked.

"Slashback, or should I say Slavetooth," Longtooth said.

"Slavetooth?" Trapper said. "Are you saying that's Slashback?"

"Yeah, and he was fucking slaver!" Longtooth said.

"Longtooth, what are you talking about?" Marcus said.

Longtooth angrily held up the notebook. "This! We were tricked by a fucking slaver, and Destiny was his next target for that fucking Auction House! That little bastard has notes on how he would poison us all except for Poseidon and Destiny. He was planning on selling them to those sick bastards in Sabaody Archipelago."

Riptide was more shocked than anyone. His sister had loved Slashback with all her heart, and now they learned the truth. The dark, horrible reality of someone he called Nakama treated him as a brother, and he wasn't anything but evil. "Wait," he said. "You said three stranger Fishmen took Destiny."

"Yes," Longtooth said.

Riptide turned to go only to have Blade grab him by the shoulder. "Ye can't be runnin' off," the old sawtooth said.

"I need to save my sister!" Riptide snarled. "I can't stand by and do nothing when I know she needs me!"

"What of Long?" Marcus asked. "Are you going to ignore the fact that your brother is hurt, and he may also need you?"

Riptide stiffened visibly. How could he have ignored that fact? How could he have easily ignored that his poor brother was hurt? He needed to go and see Long.

Marcus rested a reassuring hand on his grandson's left shoulder. "We'll all go and check on him."

"Thank you, Sofu," Riptide said softly.

Neeta was holding Long's hand between hers when Nami entered. Seeing Long looking helpless was more than enough for Nami to hurry to her poor baby's side. She stroked the top of his head when Riptide came in with Marcus, Tarl, and Garth behind him. The tiger-marked sawtooth hybrid looked around for Skie and saw her hovering over a basket sitting on a bed. The bed by Skie had a young woman resting in it. Seeing her made Riptide curious, and he went over there.

"Please let her rest," Skie said, glancing up at him. "She needs to get her strength back after the birth."

"Birth?" Riptide said as he joined Skie. "What the -,"

Laying in the basket on top of a blanket were the babies. Riptide blinked as he stared at them. They were hybrids, and they were nothing like he ever saw before. They, like his siblings, had human traits, but that was about all. Both twins had small forward-curved horns with scales around their faces and tails, the features of a dragon. Dragon?! Riptide recalled the dragon-looking Kuda that Gaff had attacked. What was the name Gaff said? Itachi! That was the name Gaff had said. There was a moan, and Riptide turned to see that his brother was starting to regain conciseness. He went to his brother's bedside.

"Long," Riptide said. "Long, are you alright?"

"My head fucking hurts like hell," Long muttered.

Everyone present was wide-eyed. Did they all hear him correctly? Did Long speak a complete sentence?

"Long, repeat it," Neeta said.

"Repeat it? Didn't you hear me the first time?" Long said. "I said, my fucking head hurts like hell."

"Holy shit," Tarl said. "We did hear that right."

"Hear what, right?" Long asked, looking confused.

"Long, you spoke a whole sentence," Nami said.

"I did?" Long said, looking surprised.

Despite all that had happened, Riptide smiled at his brother. "You sure did, baby brother."

"Where's Destiny?" Long asked, looking around. "Those Fishmen! Rip, they did grab her, did they?!"

"Long, you need to calm down," Nami said.

"Did they grab Des?!" Long said.

"They did," Riptide said.

"And no one stopped them?" Long said. "What about Slashback? He wouldn't let them…." He noted the strange look on his brother's face. "Rip?"

"Slashback wasn't who he claimed he was, and it wasn't even his real name," Riptide said. "His name was Slavetooth, and he was fucking slaver. A god damn fucking slaver!"

"What happened wasn't your fault," Nami said.

"It is my fault," Riptide said. "I trusted him."

"We all trusted him," Neeta said. "Especially Gaff and Poseidon."

"Crap," Marcus said. "Who's going to tell Poseidon the truth?"

"That's going to have to wait," Jimbei said from the doorway. The whale shark nodded to Moana. "He remembered something and said it was urgent."

"Urgent?" Nami said.

Moana hurried past Jimbei and fell to his knees before Riptide. "I know where the silver-skinned female was taken," he said. "Nàlani planned on getting her and bringing her to Genghis."

"What would my brother want with Destiny?" Marcus asked.

"Nàlani said Genghis wanted her as his mate," Moana said.

"The fucking hell, I'm letting that happen!" Marcus snarled with rage.

"None of us are," Riptide said. "Uncle, tell Longtooth and Blade to ready Wavecutter."

"What are you thinking?" Nami asked her oldest.

"We're taking the fight right to Genghis," Riptide said.

Genghis stared at his bandaged hand, which still throbbed painfully. "How dare that bastard bite me," he growled. "I'm going to have to make an example out of Itachi."

"Genghis!"

The mako looked up as Crab, Stinger and Blade entered his room. The mood he was in changed the moment he saw an unconscious Destiny in Crab's arms. The warlord rose from his chair and approached the trio.

'She's everything Itachi said she was,' Genghis thought, engrossed by Destiny's beauty. "She's perfect and my future queen.'

"We brought you a gift," Stinger said. "A goodwill gesture in exchange for your promise."

"Of course," Genghis said, snapping his fingers. Jellicoe came running, followed by two Kudas. "Jellicoe, get the Mermadiam ready and loaded for our friends."

"As you command, Genghis," Jellicoe said, giving a quick bow.

Genghis turned to the two Kudas. "Take my bride to my chambers."

"Yes, master," they said.

"If you don't mind, we'll take our leave," Stinger said. "We'll inform Scales of your decision."

Genghis dismissed Stringer and his comrades with a wave of his hand. His mind was on Destiny, and he was eager to claim his prize.

"Itachi, you're too badly hurt," Gaff said. "You need medical attention."

"It can wait," Itachi said. "I can't let Genghis live another day."

"So Genghis' loyal pet is bearing his teeth as his master."

Gaff and Itachi turned to look at a cell where some of the islanders huddled together. From the group stepped out a tall, powerful-looking built man with long messy black hair and a five o'clock shadow beard. He wore ragged and patched stonewash jeans.

"Who the fuck are you to say that?" Gaff said, eyes narrowing.

"Name Van and that piece of shit is responsible for the hell these people have gone through!"

Gaff snarled. "How dare you!"

"Gaff, he speaks the truth," Itachi said, looking away. "I won't deny that I'm innocent, but I had nothing to do with what happened that day ten months ago. I even told Leilani was going to happen."

"Leilani? Where is Leilani?" an islander elder asked.

"She's safe with my crewmates," Gaff said. "She will be a mother soon and my brother a father."

The islanders all glared with hate at Itachi. "You force her, didn't you?! Monster!"

Itachi was horrified as well as shocked. "No! Never!" he said. "Leilani and I love each other. She wanted to be my mate, and she taught me about the ways of the island."

The islanders still didn't believe him.

Gaff looked at Itachi shaking his head. "Forget these people," he said. "I'll help you take out Genghis."

"You two are going to challenge Genghis?" Van said.

"We are," Gaff said.

Van stared at Itachi for a long time, studying him. "You won't last fucking two minutes against that mother fucking bastard, not with those injuries."

"I don't fucking care," Itachi said. "I'll gladly give my life if it means stopping that bastard."

Gaff looked at Itachi in shock. "But your mate…your soon to be born child…?"

"They would have you to look after them," Itachi said. "You and hopefully the tiger mark sawtooth."

"Riptide? Of course, he would," Gaff said. "He welcomed Grinder into our crew."

"Grinder? He's with you?" Van asked, gripping the bars so tight that his knuckles turned white.

Gaff nodded. "We rescued him. You know him?"

"I do, and he's my friend, which makes you my friend as well," Van said. "So we are now brothers in this soon-to-be fight."

"What can you even do?" Gaff asked.

A deep growl rumbled from deep within Van, and before Itachi and Gaff's eyes, the man's skin cracked, peeling back as he grew his body changing shape. Bones snapped as they reformed. Van's face grew outward; his teeth grew, changing shape as thick silky black hair sprouted from the shedding flesh cracks. Then, with a snarl, the now 10 ½ foot tall werewolf shook his outer skin off as honey-colored eyes stared at both Gaff and Itachi before he ripped the cell door right off its hinges. Van stepped into the corridor, followed by the islanders who were staring at him in awe.

"Does this form answer your question?" Van asked; his voice was a deeply beastly sound.

"It does," Gaff said.

A scream filled the air, and Gaff jerked his head up, eyes wide. "That's Destiny!" he said. "My beautiful silver is in danger!"

"Let's go!" Van said, charging up the steps.

Destiny slowly came to, and she opened her eyes, staring at a strange ceiling. Then, alarmed, she sat up, looking around the room. It was bare with only the king-size bed she was sitting on and one narrow open window.

"Where the hell am I?" she said.

"Ah, my beautiful mate, you're awake."

Destiny looked in the direction of the voice and saw the mako Fishman who was grinning sickly at her. Destiny did not hide the look of horror on her face. The mako, physically scarred, and his body twisted from injuries that had not been adequately tended to, was enough to give the silver hybrid nightmares. She scrambled against the headboard as the Fishman approached the bed.

"Stay the fuck away from me!" she screamed.

"You have a fighting spirit," Genghis said as he started undressing. "I can see we're going to have some real fun."

Terror filled Destiny as she wildly looked for an escape route. Finally, Genghis grabbed her by a leg, and Destiny screamed as she had never had before. The mako pulled her to his now naked body, and Destiny fought like a wild cat, kicking, punching, and biting, which finally angered Genghis.

"You will learn to behave yourself!" the mako snarled as he backhanded Destiny.

Destiny laid stunned as Genghis reached for her shirt, and suddenly the room shook, raining dusting and small particles down from the ceiling. Genghis turned away from his prize, his purple eyes glowing from his sudden rage.

"Someone dares to attack me in my fortress?!" he roared. "I will make them pay for their foolishness!"

"Tekkai Hei!"

The prison door exploded into pieces as Van plowed through it. Itachi, Gaff, and the islanders rushed into the courtyard, where both Fishmen and Kudas stood stunned. Then, before anyone could move, sections of the stone fortress were suddenly blown apart.

"Attack! We're under attack!" A lookout screamed from the watchtower before being destroyed.

The gates shook before falling as Poseidon charged through them. Right behind him came Butch and Sunflash, followed by Riptide, Marcus, Grinder, Longtooth, Trapper, Thor, Kauileale, Zanfar, Jimbei, Tarl, Garth, Ryder, Moana, and Nami.
