Not gonna lie, when you gave Serena a female Pikachu, I was expecting her to get with Ash's. But you subverted my expectations by hinting towards Ash's Pikachu and Serena's Eevee. Of course it seems Serena's Pikachu is apparently on the smaller side so she's probably significantly younger anyways.
On the topic of the grass types: Meh... Your fanfic, your rules. I just thought someone should mention it respectfully before someone else decided to flame about it.
Can't wait to see how this event plays out!
I knew that most of the people would be shiping Ash and Serena's pikachu, the moment I said that Serena's pikachu is a girl. Although since the time I had seen Ash's Piachu with Serena's Sylveon, I could not help but ship those two.

Ch - 8
Ceremony and Confessions
Three humans, along with Pikachu, reached the hall, followed by all of Serena's Pokémon, whom Serena returned to her Poké Balls. As Leaf let go of her hand, she saw that all the elders, except Palermo, who was busy on her phone, were sitting in the hall, reminiscing about their past adventures. Meanwhile, the youngsters were just sitting and listening to their parents' conversations, and it was clear that they were not interested in the elders' talks.
"Mom, Dad, see brother and Serena are back," Leaf said excitedly while gaining the attention of others.
"Ah, Ash and Serena, you both are on time. Now, let's move towards the ballroom where the crowning ceremony is held," Red said while walking towards them along with Delia and others.
Both of them nodded, but before that, Ash had one question in mind. "Dad, could you please explain to me how the introductions are going to be held? I don't want to mess up in front of others," Ash asked in a nervous tone.
"Sure, Ash," Red said, then explained all about the introductions. As he finished explaining, Palermo also arrived there after finishing her call.
[Note: Palermo had not met Serena yet as she was not present there when others arrived. She met Oak and Yvonne, but not Serena, as she was in the garden with Ash. She still doesn't know that she is the girl whom Ash loves; she only thinks that Serena is a friend of Ash who had arrived from Kalos.]
" Delia, she had arrived ", Palermo said with a smile.
"Oh, I am so excited to meet her. It's been years since I last saw her," Delia replied with a smile as well.
"About whom are you talking, Mom?" Ash asked his mother in a confused tone.
"Oh, sorry Ash, I forgot to tell you, she is my elder brother's daughter and your elder sister," Delia replied in a nervous tone, as she had forgotten to tell Ash about his sister.
" Not again, Mom. Why are you telling all the secrets bit by bit? Just tell them all at once," Ash asked in frustration.
"Yes, Mom, you didn't even tell us the whole time that we have another sister," Rosa and Leaf said at the same time, equally frustrated as Ash.
"Sorry, dear. There are many things you don't know about, and you'll only learn about them when the time is right," Delia answered sincerely.
"Fine", Rosa, Ash, and Leaf replied at the same time with a sigh, knowing that their parents would not tell them until the right time.
"If you don't mind us asking, Mom, who is she, and where does she live?" asked Rosa in hope of getting to know more about her.
"Oh well, after my brother and his wife's death, she lives with your grandma in Kalos," Delia answered.
"Wow, she lives in Kalos as well," Serena said excitedly, which gained Palermo's attention, as she was not introduced to her.
"May I know who you are, young lady?" asked Palermo in her strict tone.
"My name is Serena," Serena replied in a sincere tone.
"Serena, I am Palermo Ash's grandmother, and I think I had heard your name somewhere," Palermo said with a teasing smirk as now she remembered that Ash had told her about a girl named Serena whom he loved from childhood.
"Ash is she that childhood friend of yours about whom you had told me today?", Palermo asked with a teasing look, which was noticed by Ash. This also made Serena blush.
"Arceus, I have a feeling that, like mom, she is going to embarrass me in front of everyone. Please save me," Ash thought with sweat beads forming on his forehead. Reluctantly, Ash answered yes to his grandmother's question, hoping she would not embarrass him.
"Ash talks about me. Wow, I can't believe this. But why do I have a feeling that I know Miss Palermo from somewhere? " Serena thought while trying to remember about Palermo.
"Oh, Ash, that means she's the girl about whom you were talking that you
are in lo- ". But before Palermo could finish, she was interrupted by Ash.
"Grandma," Ash yelled while blushing as his grandmother was about to say about his love for Serena in front of everyone, especially in front of Serena. Ash's poor state was noticed by everyone, which made them laugh, except Serena and Lillie, as one was blushing, and the other was getting angry.
"Was Palermo about to say the word love, which means Ash loves me hundred percent, otherwise he wouldn't be so embarrassed and wouldn't have stopped her by yelling. But wait, what if Ash was embarrassed because he doesn't love me and was just uncomfortable. I don't know what's happening to me. My heart says that Ash truly loves me, but my mind says that Ash is only uncomfortable and embarrassed about thinking of us dating," Serena thought with lots of questions in her mind. She was so lost in her thoughts that she didn't even hear what others were talking about.
"Why is Serena so close to Ash and his family than me? I was the first one who met Ash, so it should be me, not her. Ash doesn't even glance at me after she came here, and now what was his grandma going to say. Whatever, I will tell Ash about my feelings after the ceremony, then nobody will be able to separate us," Lillie thought with a grin on her face.
"Serena, where are you lost?" Calem said while entering the hall with Miette, also breaking Serena's chain of thoughts.
"Oh, Calem and Miette, where were you both all this time? " Ash asked, forgetting that they were so shocked to know he was a prince that they couldn't move.
"Well, someone just left both of us in a shocked state," Miette said while eyeing Ash, Serena, and Leaf, which was noticed by our future couple, and they just smiled nervously.
"What? How could someone do this? Tell me his or her name. I will make them pay," Leaf said, sounding angry.
"If I remember correctly, you were the one who took Ash and Serena from there, leaving me and Miette there in a shocked state," Calem said with a sly grin, making Leaf remember she was the one who left them there.
"Sorry, I was just very excited," Leaf said nervously.
"Don't worry, sweetie. He's just joking. Don't take him seriously at all," Miette said to calm the little girl.
"If you children are done with your banter, then may we introduce ourselves to these two and then move forward for the ceremony," Delia said in her strict tone, which made the children nod their heads in agreement.
"Everyone, this is Serena's brother Calem and his girlfriend Miette," Ash said while introducing the Kalos couple.
"And Calem Miette, this is my grandma Palermo, that's my mom Delia and dad Red, then there is my elder sister Rosa, and beside her is Leaf, whom you had met already," Ash said while pointing at each one of them.
"I also have an aunt, but she is busy with some work related to the ceremony as she is the current queen," Ash added.
They all greet others.
"Then there is my friend Gare-bear, his mom Yellow, his dad Blue, and his grandfather Professor Oak," Ash added while pointing at all of them.
"Don't call me by that name", Gary yelled at the raven-haired boy who just laughed it off.
While everyone also laughed at their interactions.
"Then there is Mohn Aether, his wife Lusamine Aether, and their two children, Gladion and Lillie," Ash said, pointing at each of them except Lillie.
After greeting each other, they all moved towards the ballroom for the ceremony.
All elders were the first one to move inside while the youngsters were behind. Among all of them Ash was very nervous as he knew that he is reckless and suck at dancing so what if he messed up in front of all those people and would make a fun of himself infront of all especially Serena.
Serena noticed Ash's nervousness which surprised her as it's the first time she had seen Ash nervous but understood that Ash is going through the mental pressure of not messing up in front of all those people. Being experienced with nervousness Serena decided to help him.
When nobody was looking at them Serena slowly holds Ash's hand which make him surprised, and he looked at her. Serena just whispered, " Don't be nervous you will be great, have fun and remember don't give up until it's over ", in Ash's ears which seemed to work as his nervousness slowly faded away. Both of them were unknown to the fact that other youngsters had heard and saw their interaction with smile on their faces except Lillie who was frowning.
" Why is Ash so much friendly with her than me, he didn't even glance at me for once or called me beautiful ", Lillie huffed in annoyance.
After Ash and Serena were done with their talks and looked upwards, they saw everyone giving them teasing looks except one Lillie which made them blush deep red.
Both of them quietly ran towards the ballroom in order to save themselves from their teasing looks while others followed them giggling and laughing at their antics.
Soon they all joined the adults who were waiting besides the door in the ballroom as they will enter only after their names are announced as they all belong to very rich families.

Inside the ballroom many guests have arrived although most of them are the people of Rota yet some other important people from all over the world are also present.
All were excited too see the new prince of Rota . Among them champions [ Lance , Steven along with Wallace and Lisia , Cynthia , Alder with his grandson Benga , Diantha and Leon along with his brother Hop ] , Pokemon League President Charles Goodshow and Scott of Battle Frontier were also present .
" Who do you think is this new prince of Rota " , Lance asked all the other champions in curiosity .
" Well all of us were informed earlier about his identity right " , Cynthia replied sarcastically .
" Hey I was just asking " , Lance replied.
" Calm down you two , you are in public not at your house " , Steven said in order to calm them .
" Whosoever he will be I bet I could easily defeat him in battle " , Alder's grandson Benga replied in cocky tone .
" Benga behave yourself , this is not the right way to talk to anyone " , Alder scolded his grandson as he is tired of his grandson's cocky attitude .
" Lee do you think that the new prince would love to have a battle with me " , Hop asked his brother Leon .
" Well I don't know but if he do then then have a champion time in battle " , Leon replied with his usual style .
" Leon I am not even a champion and I have been on a journey for just a year" , Hop said with a sigh .
" Don't be down , you would grow stronger in future " , Leon replied while holding Hop's shoulder and looking directly into his eyes in order to give him some confidence which did the trick .
" Oh yes I will and then I will take your title for sure " , Hop said with excitement which reminded Lance , Steven , Wallace , Cynthia and Alder about Ash .
" You know what if Ash was here right now he would have said the same thing" , Cynthia said with a smile .
" Yes you are right and I am sure one of us would sure lose our title to him in future " , Steven added with a smile as well reminiscing his memories about Ash .
While Lisia , Benga , Diantha , Leon and Hop were confused as they don't know who is this person named Ash about whom Champions were praising this much .
" Oh come on although I don't know who this person named Ash is but I do know this that if I ever get a chance to battle him then he will lose for sure " , Benga said with a cocky tone again .
" I am sorry Benga but I am sure that if you ever battle Ash then you would be the one who will lose " , Alder said to Benga which made him angry as how can his grandfather even say this that he would lose .
" If I ever get a chance to battle you Ash than I will make sure that you lose because I am Benga and I can only lose to a champion not to a loser like you " , Benga thought with an arrogant smirk .
" Well can we know who is this Ash person, about whom you are talking so much " , Hop asked in an interested tone.
" Well I would like to know as well " , Leon added .
" Well Ash is a pokemon trainer from Kanto who had travelled through Kanto , Orange Islands , Johto , Hoenn , Sinnoh and Unova . He had competed in the leagues of all these regions " , Lance said with a proud smile as for him Ash is like a little brother while Lisia , Leon , Diantha and Hop were impressed hearing that .
" Well yes and not only that he had also helped in stopping evil teams like Team Rocket , Team Magma , Team Aqua , Team Galactic and Team Plasma " , Cynthia said with a proud smile but with a hint of worry as well as she was worried for Ash's safety as she know how reckless can Ash be . Others who knew about that nodded as they all know that Ash is a chaos magnet . While Leon , Diantha and Hop were shocked that a trainer was able to stop these evil teams whereas Benga was just irritated that he have to listen to someone's else praise .
" You know what, I would like to meet this boy ", Diantha said in curiosity as she wanted to know more about this boy named Ash .
Before they can say anything , they were interrupted by Queen Illene who walked to the stage .
" All the people of Rota , Champions , Mr Goodshow and others who are present here to see The New Prince of Rota, I, Queen Illene of Rota welcome you all . We are honoured that you took some time from your busy schedules and had come here . Although before the introduction of Prince let me tell you that our family is very close friends with three other families so first of all we are going to introduce them " , Illene said in her royal Queen tone . All were very excited to know who these families were but the most excitement was to see the prince .
Illene then gestured Jenny [ The Head Maid of Rota ] to begin with the introductions to which she nodded .
" Please Welcome Mr Mohn Aether and his wife Lusamine Aether along with their two children, Mr Gladion and Miss Lillie from Alola region " , Jenny said , following which The Aether family entered the ballroom while waving at the people present there.
" Next is Mr John Yvonne with his lovely wife Mrs Grace Yvonne with their two children Mr Calem and Miss Serena from Kalos. Along with them, there is also Calem Yvonne's girlfriend, Miss Miette " , Jenny said again following which now the Yvonne's entered the Ballroom while waving at the crowd . John and Grace were holding hands as were Calem and Miette and Serena was walking alone. Meanwhile Diantha recognized Calem as he had participated in kalos league before.
" This Serena girl is so hot , I would ask her to be my date after all who would turn down the grandson of a champion" , Benga thought with lust in his eyes and a smirk on his face.
" Now I think you all must know about this family . Please welcome Professor Samuel Oak , along with him is his son Mr Blue Oak and his daughter in law Mrs Yellow Oak . Then there is his grandson Mr Gary Oak " , Jenny said while introducing the Oak's following which they entered the hall while waving their hands although Blue and Gary wanted to do something else as well seeing the beautiful girls in front of them but couldn't due to Yellow, who was glaring at them .
" Now the time has come for the introduction of the Royal Family of Rota . Please welcome the former king and queen of Rota, Red ketchum with his lovely wife Delia Ketchum " , Jenny said while bowing in front of them as they entered the ballroom hand in hand with smile on their faces . While Goodshow , Scott , Lance , Steven , Wallace , Cynthia and Alder were shocked hearing the surname ' Ketchum ' as a certain someone they know also has the same surname .
" Ketchum could Ash be the new Prince , no, no what I am thinking it can't be, maybe it is just a coincidence " Lance thought , trying to stop thinking about the possibility of Ash being Prince . Just like Lance all others who know Ash were thinking the same thing .
" Now please welcome their eldest daughter and the Princess of Rota, Rosa Ketchum " , Jenny said again with a bow as Rosa entered the ballroom while waving at the people present there with a smile on her face . Alder and Benga recognized her from her participation in the Unova league but this was the first time they had heard about her surname.
" Before we welcome our Prince , please welcome the youngest child of the Royal Family Princess Leaf Ketchum " , Jenny said while introducing Leaf and bowed in front of her as well. Leaf entered the ballroom while waving at the crowd with style and a smile on her face as being a coordinator she is used to interacting in the crowd. Lisia was able to recognize her as she had seen some contests in which Leaf had participated .
Jenny was going to make the arrival announcement of Ash but Red stopped her and gestured her that he will do it himself.
" First of all, I am very happy, as today is my son's coronation as a Prince . You all must be thinking why my Son's coronation is so late . Well due to security problems me and my daughters were forced to live away from my son and my wife . Even though I was not present for my son for many years yet he was able to achieve a lot of things in his life and also at such a young age . I think many of you must have heard his name as well seeing how much he have achieved in such a short time , so please welcome my son and Prince of Rota , Ash Ketchum" ,Red announced with a proud tone which made all the people of Rota to cheer as they remembered him for saving Rota few years back .
Meanwhile the people who knew Ash were shocked to know that ASH KETCHUM IS THE PRINCE OF ROTA . Even Benga was shocked at first but then smirked as he wanted to battle the Prince as well as Ash Ketchum but since both of them are the same person it would be more easy .
After Red's announcement Ash entered the ballroom with pikachu on his shoulder waving at the crowd . He was nervous at first but then remembered his father and Serena's words and put up his usual confident smile which he had in kalos . He could see many familiar and unfamiliar people in the crowds .
After Ash reached where the other members of his family were standing his father gestured him to sit on the throne that was present for him . While on it's sidelines some more thrones were also placed for the other members of the four families .
As gestured by his father Ash sat on the throne at the same time a servant brought an old staff, but it was not an ordinary staff, it was the staff of mighty warrior and Aura Guardian Sir Aaron. Seeing the staff, brought back the memories of Sir Aaron's Lucario in Ash and Pikachu's mind.
Red took the staff from the servant and handed it to Ash then gestured him to address the crowd. Ash nodded and stood up to address the crowd.
" I am not at all good with speeches, this is my first time when I am addressing the crowd so if I say something inappropriate then forgive me. Just yesterday I got to know that I am a prince, and it is very hard for me to believe, but I, Ash Ketchum, the son of Red and Delia Ketchum promise to commit myself to all the people of Rota. I don't know how good Prince I can be, but I promise to do my best and will make the whole Rota proud of me but most importantly I will never give up until the very end ", Ash finished his speech while looking towards serena which was noticed by Red who was standing just besides him. Serena who was just looking towards Ash during the whole time blushed as she saw Ash gazed towards her.
All the people present there [Except Benga] clapped on his speech. They all could sense the sincerity in his voice, infact even if he had not said those words, people of Rota would have believed him, as he saved Rota at that time when he didn't even have anything to do with it, he didn't even knew he was the Prince of that very kingdom still he risked his life to save them so when he knew that he is the Prince, then there is no doubt that he will do everything in his hands to help them and the kingdom .
Even all the champions, Goodshow and Scott were highly impressed by Ash's speech. Those who knew him were surprised as this was the first time he had behaved so maturely. But there was one more thing that Cynthia noticed, she saw the interaction between Ash and Serena and couldn't help but smile at this. She had always thought of Ash as her little brother and seeing him in love, had brought happiness on her face.
After Ash's speech now it was time for the ballroom dance where Ash has to choose a partner who would be his dance partner for rest of the ceremony which is more of a party.
" Ladies and gentlemen, it is time for a couple dance. We request our prince to choose a dance partner for himself and then proceed to dance. Others can join only after Prince and his dance partner are done with their first dance ", Jenny said.
All the young girls present there were very excited and hoped that Ash would choose them as his dance partner.
[Me: Poor girls, they don't know Ash already had his eyes set on a certain honey blonde girl]
" This is the time, I would get to dance with Ash in front of all these people ", Lillie thought with a smile while imagining herself and Ash dancing together.
" I would love to dance with Ash, but I can't force him to dance with me. Even if he dance with any other girl today, I would still be happy knowing that the boy I love is happy, as for me, it will hurt a lot, but nothing is more important than Ash's happiness. Along with it I would also get to know whether I should confess my love to him tonight or not because if he chose someone else then there will be no doubt that he doesn't love me. After all I can't force him to love me so I would support him unconditionally irrespective of whom he would choose as his dance partner today ", Serena thought with a smile while some tears had formed in her eyes as even though she decided that she will be happy for Ash still it ached her heart, thinking of someone else dancing with Ash.
She was so lost in her thoughts she failed to notice that Ash had reached in front of her. All the people present there were just looking at both of them with different emotions some with happiness while some with jealousy.
" Serena ", Ash's voice broke Serena's chain of thoughts and she looked in his eyes.
" Would you like to be my dance partner for the rest of the night ", Ash asked nervously hoping she would not deny.
Serena can't believe what she heard, Ash just asked her for being his dance partner in front of such a big crowd. He chose her among all those girls, thinking this made her heart swell with love for the raven-haired boy. At that time all she wanted to do was kiss him passionately, but she controlled herself and without wasting any more time she replied happily " Yes Ash I would love to be your dance partner ".
Ash's joy also had no more bounds as the girl of his dreams just said yes to dance with him but then he remembered that Pikachu would be left alone while he would dance with Serena. Suddenly he got an idea and asked Serena to bring out Eevee so that she could dance with Pikachu and can enjoy as well. Serena liked the idea and released her Eevee from her Poke ball and asked her if she would like to dance with Pikachu . Eevee was more than happy to dance with her new crush and same was the case with Ash's Pikachu who thanked Ash with his gestures.
Ash then forwards his hand, which Serena took happily. They both reached the center of ballroom. A slow romantic music started playing and Ash and Serena happily started dancing on that song with Ash's one hand on Serena's waist while the other holding her one hand.
All eyes were on them but for Ash and Serena whole world had faded, it was just two of them. It didn't matter what other's think of them right now, as it was their moment, and they don't want to let go of this moment by thinking about others. They knew that Pikachu and Eevee were also dancing along with them but at this moment their whole focus was on each other.
Young girls and boys who wanted to dance with Ash and Serena were somewhat jealous although they were happy for them except Lillie and Benga who were just looking at them with jealousy.
" Ash Ketchum first you took away so many praises and now the girl with whom I wanna dance, now you wait and see, I would challenge you to a Pokémon Battle and after I will win then that Serena girl will herself come to me as who would like to live with a loser ", Benga thought with a devil smirk.
" Why did Ash choose her as his dance partner, I am the one who should be dancing with him ", Lillie thought with anger.
Champions who knew Ash, were surprised yet again as they didn't know that Ash could dance so well and for once, was not running into things or is being reckless.
Ash and Serena's parents were happy seeing their children dancing happily with each other. They know how much both Ash and Serena had missed each other.
" Aww now I know, Ash, why after that Summer Camp you wanna learn how to dance. Although you were not good but was at least able to dance, but now look at you, I think it is true then that with a great partner in your life, you could achieve success in everything ", Delia thought with a smile.
Gary who up till now had never seen this side of Ash was surprised as well but was happy for his friend and former rival. He might not know much about Serena, but it can be seen clearly in her eyes how much she loves Ash, he just hoped Ash did not mess up and would not let go of such a beautiful girl.
Rosa and Leaf were also very happy for their brother. They knew how much Ash loves Serena and now by seeing them dancing together they could not help but feel jealous of their brother who had gotten his special someone while they (Rosa and Leaf) had not.
As the dance came to end all clapped for them except two people (and you know who they are). Their clapping's broke the trance of Ash and Serena who were lost in each other. Both of them were happy to get to dance with each other. Although their feet's have stopped dancing, yet their mind and heart had not, they were still up for some more dancing.
At that time Jenny announced that all the others who want to dance can now proceed to the dance floor. Many couples including Calem and Miette came to the dance floor. Even Gary asked Leaf for a dance to which she agreed happily. Gladion who was forced by his parents also asked Rosa for a Dance, which she accepted as she doesn't have a partner.
Seeing this as a chance Ash held Serena's hands which surprised her a bit and took her to the balcony, attached to the ballroom but before that making sure that nobody saw them or was not trying to follow them. Luckily everyone was so engrossed in dancing that they didn't even notice about Ash and Serena's disappearance.
" Hey Ash, so why did you bring me here? ", Serena asked with a blush on her face as Ash was still holding her hands.
" Well, I wanted to talk to you about something ", Ash said nervously while trying not to stammer in front of Serena as he slowly let go of her hand.
" Well actually, I wanted to talk to you about something as well ", Serena said while feeling nervous as well now.
" Oh, then you can go first ", Ash said in hope to build confidence for what he is going to say her now.
" No, no Ash you can go first ", Serena said still feeling nervous.
" Are you sure ", Ash asked once again.
" Yeah ", Serena replied.
" Serena, you remember the day I met you at Professor Oak's summer camp, that was the best day of my life. The moment I saw you in woods, I felt something in my heart. Even though you were crying, still the only word that came to my mind after seeing you was beautiful, but more than that the tears in your eyes made my heart ache. It was like I can't even see a drop of tear in your beautiful eyes. I knew something was not right but can't figure it out. The more time I spent with you at the summer camp unknown to me the more my feelings for you started to grow. The day you left I felt like someone had stabbed my heart or had just broken it into many pieces, I felt depressed. As I grow up, I got to know that the feeling that I felt for you were the feelings of love. So, what I am trying to say is Serena Yvonne, I LOVE YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART, WILL YOU BE MY GIRLFRIEND? Ash confessed with all the love that he had for Serena. He just wanted her to say yes but even if she didn't, he knew that love can't be forced he will just accept whatever her answer would be and will do his best that if she said no then that would not affect their friendship.
Serena was shocked yet surprised hearing Ash's heartfelt confession. She couldn't imagine that the boy of her dreams had just confessed his love to her. She looked into Ash's eyes to give her answer but saw him staring at her nervously.
" Ash ", Serena said but was interrupted by Ash himself. " I am sorry Serena if you don't feel the same let's j- ", Now it was Ash who was interrupted in between as Serena kissed him on the lips.
