Chapter 1: Prologue

EDITED!

Hi! This is my first Fic so feedback is highly welcomed! :D

First off, I wanna warn people that I have Dyslexia so excuse some words if their spelt funny or make no sense haha. Ive been wanting to write a TMNT AU story for a while now but never had an idea that I felt was strong enough to make a full story rather then a couple of pages haha, so when this idea popped into my head I thought I'd give it a try and see how it goes, and if anyone else likes it of course. So thank you for clicking and I hope you enjoy the prologue at least lol.

Note: This is based on the 2k12 series.

WARNING: Will get bloody in some chapters ahead!

Prologue

Mahogany eyes looked out at the breathtaking sight the early city twilight gave him. Moonlight danced across the wet rooftops, illuminating the lights of the advertising signs and billboards. The sky shimmered with hints of purple in the deep blue fading to black, with lingering clouds that had brought the damp radiant effect to the buildings.

New York City.

It was nothing like his home in Tokyo.

These streets were crime ridden and colourless of life, even when the streets were full of people. The air stank of pollution and other nasty smells, yet here in the city, above the hustle of life, the sky was there.

And it beautiful.

It was one of the things he missed from his home in Japan, but it was still the same, wherever he was. A beautiful sky greeting him in any country. Daiki took in a cool wintery breath, New York was a cold place, but even then, it was still better then Japan.

In the sense that there weren't as many ghosts to haunt him of his past here...

He thought back to the events of his life, and how it got him to this point, something he did often.

His master always told him to remember the past, and the hate that came from it. To fuel his vendetta, and need for...

Revenge.

Just outside of a city named Osaka, fourteen years ago, he was born. And he had lived a normal life with his parents as a only child in their little village.

His Mother, Hana, was a loving women who taught school children. And his Father, Genki, was a maker of traditional Japanese weapons, a business he inherited from his own father. They worked with anyone who seeked them out, but mainly, they were known for supplying for two of the most powerful Ninja Clans in Japan.

His parents always encouraged him to strive for a peaceful life full of the things and people that made him happiest, and for him that was here, in his little village, and anything he could get his hands on too break and put back together again.

He was somewhat of a nerd for engineering and anything sciencey, and he didn't deny it, but he also took a great liking to the art of Ninjitsu from his father and his shop. His father would allow him somedays to read over some of the old books and scrolls he had collected through the years, to learn and study them. Or he would educate his son on a new weapon whenever he was tasked to make it.

It was a peaceful and content life he lived. But that all changed in the blink of an eye.

One winter's night, a fire started seemingly out of nowhere, quiet and unseen. It soon covered the entire village in black smoke and ash in a matter of minutes. People ran, and panicked, screaming about the lost of their family who were caught by the blaze. Within a fallen and crumbled house in the center of the village, lied the bodies of two parents, who fought to their last breath to save their only child. Alone and forgotten in the chaos, was their young son, who weeped for their lose.

Daiki had lost everything he ever knew in just minutes. He was broken, angry, confused and hurt, he couldn't understand how this had happened. How his life went from being the most beautiful heaven he could have known, to this dark and smoke covered hell. That was until his life got a little darker...

A shadow appeared from behind him. Leaning over the boy, and spying him with an expressionless face. A pair of eyes stared back into his wet mahogany ones. One brown like oak, and the other, white and blind to the world. This dark shadow of a man, he did not recognise. But on his armored sleeve, he saw a red foot sigil, and knew them to be one of his father's customers.

He did not yet know it, but this man, was the leader of the Foot Clan, Oroku Saki. The Shredder.

He was a slim, but tall man. brawny, and toned as most Japanese decent were, with chrome plated armor on his chest, shoulders, arms and lower legs, worn over a dark maroon outfit with a dark black cape hanging over his back. He had a helmet made of the same chrome covering almost his entire head except for his eyes, His face from what you could see, was partially burned and disfigured, such to the extent that his right eye appeared blind.

He was terrifying to behold.

He placed a strong hand onto his shoulder and looked at the terrified boy, who shock under his touch. Daiki was scared, yes, but he was confused. Why was this man here? Did he too lose someone to theses wild fires?

The Shredder lowered to the boys level and met his conflicted gaze. He was still for a moment, lost in thought. Then, looking at this boy, he's eyes held an unreadable expression, before answering with a hollow voice.

"This was the work of Hamato Yoshi. Leader of the Hamato Clan." He looked up at the surrounding buildings succumbing to the flames.

"He tried to claim what was mine years ago, but failed. This is the aftermath of his still growing hate. He burned down this village and many others like it in search of my clan members for revenge."

He looked to the boy once more, with sympathy in his uncomforting voice. "He was the one who took your parents lifes. And so many others here in this village, then fled into the night, like the rat he is."

The five year old boy shook under the man's strong hand, struggling to control the sobs that threatened to wreck him.

Hamato Yoshi... The Hamato Clan was one of his fathers main customers, he had told Daiki that they were a loyal and honorable Clan. But their leader killed his family, burnt down his village and destroyed his life. That wasn't anything to be honoured for...

That man- No. That monster, didn't get to just take his family away, then disappear into the night.

"I w-want to h-help." The boy whispered, his voice rough from crying.

"I want to fight with you against Hamato Yoshi! For what he did to my home, and to my family!"

He stared into Saki's eyes with so much will and determination that the Shredder gave a small smirk under his mask.

"Then join me and my Clan, as I eradicate every last Hamato scum from this place, and free all of Japan from their cursed blood. I will train you to fight with the anger of your lose and shape it to become your strength."

With that, Saki stood and held out his hand to the boy, offering him his place in the clan should he accept, and his part in the death of Hamato Yoshi. Without a second thought, He reached up and joined the Foot Clan. After what Saki had told him, and the reason behind his parents deaths, he swore that he would have his vendetta. And Yoshi, would pay for hurting his family.

From his childhood to his teen years, Daiki was raised within the great clan. He trained everyday, sometimes all day to become stronger, setting aside all childish needs to put ninjitsu first. He even helped to advance the Foot Clan with his vast knowledge of science and technology.

Saki took to his part of his revenge and made true on his word, finding and tracking down every last living Hamato, torturing them to reveal Yoshi's hiding. And when they could not, or did not, he would end their miserable lives. And soon, the Hamato Clan became nothing but a distant memory.

But Hamato Yoshi was nowhere to be found.

That was until a shuriken was discovered in New York City last week, with the embellishment of said clan on it. Hamato Yoshi had indeed lived, and fled like Saki had thought. And by the looks of it, was training disciples of his own in America. Saki took action quickly, leaving his Tokyo headquarters as soon as he could to his recently established one in New York, where his American pupil Chris Bradford had started the task of training foot soldiers a year ago. Saki brought with him multiple more soldiers and trusted men, and left his headquarters in the trust of his oldest friend.

The now fifteen year old Daiki, released a tired sigh as he straightened by the abandoned churches window, gazing at the ever familiar sky. Bringing his arms closer to his body for comfort. He hated thinking about his past.

To murder someone, to have their blood forever stain your hands, It took a monster to do such a thing. Yet here he was, ten years later, hunting a monster.

His pale skin shone in the light of the moon, making him look almost ghost like. Mahogany eyes were shining with the glow of said reflection. His black shinobi shozoku was form fitting with a large hood, and he wore silver arm plates covering most of his chest, arms, lower legs and shoulders. With sturdy mid-calf boots with steel toe caps to protect his feet from any hard kicks. He dawned a black face mask, which covered his chin, underneath his eyes and across his nose, along with a pair of fingerless gloves.

His dark brown hair was a floppy mess reaching just to his shoulders. He wore a strap over his chest and round his waist for some kunai, shurikens and his own self-made smoke bombs, leading to a holster on his back for his black metal twin bladed Naginata. One of his mosted prized possession, as it was one his grandfather had made before he became sick. The end of the staff had knife cravings of the Kanji for his parents names in the steel, His Mother, Hana - 花 And his Father, Genki - 元気.

The cold air of the night made the glass mist up with his breath, his dark bangs kept in the way of his eyes to hide his many emotions. He was nervous, his Master had said some of his men go against Hamato's disciples and came out black and blue with blood all over. Theses Ninjas, were not some low lifes like Bradford had been training, but students who have been shaped by their Master, they must off ate, slept and breathed ninjitsu.

Daiki was readying himself for his first solo mission in this strange city set by his Master himself, It took alot of work to have Shredder's trust, which was hard to gain even for his own Second in Command, Bradford. But Shredder trusted Daiki with this important task, one he's not even trusted to his most loyal of men. He would not let him down, he would prove himself to the Shredder. He owed that much too him.

Within the first night of Daiki being in the clan, Saki told him of how he too had lost everything he loved in one night.

How Yoshi had come to Saki's home armed with razor sharp weapons and challenged him to a duel to the death. Saki accepted, and the two tore through the home, catching it on fire. Just as Yoshi was about to kill him, Saki's wife, Tang Shen tried in vain to save her husband but took the fatal blow for herself, before Saki could reach his fallen love, a support beam fell onto Saki, scarring him forever of that night mentally and physically. It was when he regained his consciousness that he realised he barely escaped with his life, his house was destroyed and burnt to the ground. Sealing the fate of not just his beloved wife, but his baby daughter Miwa, assuming her to also be killed within the flames.

He showed Daiki his pain that night, in hopes that the boy would understand his hatred for Yoshi, and better understand the goal of the Foot, and it did just that.

He was given the surveillance mission by Shredder, in an area where Hamato's students have been stopped fighting some strange men in business suits alot. He was entrusted to stake out and found out as much as possible about theses students. Their weakness, their fears, their friends, their lives. He would do just that for his Master, and for himself.

One step closer to them, and he was one step closer to Hamato Yoshi.

But little was Daiki aware, that this was just the beginning of something he thought he would never need.
