"Shadow you alright. You look not so yourself." Maria asked. Her boy was in bed not feeling so good after being soaked in the rain and germs had snuck in giving him a bad cold and Sonic had found him feverishly walking aroubd Green Hills but had brought him home to Maria who'd tucked him into bed as she cared about him putting a cold cloth on his forehead but it reminded her, of being in the Ark and this happened along with him teleporting out of bed until Gerald had explained to him.
"Crud, Maria." Shadow said softly. "That makes sense but you'll feel better soon." Maria said.
"I know like when Gerald would stop me when I felt like this…" Shadow said sleepily.
"Atta boy. Resting will help you get better, even if you don't like it." She said softly leaving him be going back downstairs making Shadow coffee knowing it was his favourite and he needed liquids along with the meds to get better humming to herself adding the Austrian goat milk like how Stone made it as they were living with him and at first, she felt bad for imposing but Shadow had explained they needed something to live and Stone didn't mind secretly loving it seeing her being around maxe Shadow happy which he and Maria liked that only him being sick bothered them.
"So he's sleeping finally, not teleporting or flying out of bed." Stone asked.
"Yep but it reminds me of when this happened, on the Ark." Maria told him.
He then saw her deciding to go outside for a bit, strapping on her rollerblades but also safety gear but she always did it with Shadow knowing it would still be fun rollerblading around the park enjoying the day seeing those girls who always stared at her and Shadow whenever they were at the park, only Sonic had told her they were jerks and to ignore them if they approached her so rollerbladed faster away from them.
Later Shadow began to stir after sleeping for a bit, wondering where Maria was getting up to pee as she'd told him he could only get up to use the bathroom doing this hearing Maria home realising that she'd went rollerblading making him smile heading back to his room getting back into bed softly. Maria was relieved he was resting saying she'd went rollerblading without him getting she'd wanted him to rest holding his paw. "Yeah but those girls were at the park again." Maria told him.
"You remember what Sonic told you about them." Shadow said sounding stuffed up but adorable.
"I just rollerbladed past them. I can see you're feeling a lil better which is good." Maria told him. He smiled weakly but concerned she might get germs and he would hate for that to happen to her making her understand that, knowing his protective nature for her was behind that. "I get it but I'll be okay." Maria told him seeing him nod.
"Maybe. Thanks Maria for the coffee." Shadow said.
"He doesn't know you can teleport like him." Stone adked
"Nope but I made him think he was imagining things." Maria told him.
