I tried to focus to find Ugin, but because of the chaos that still haunted the blind eternities as well as the poison coursing through my veins it was not the portal that opened before us. Nevertheless we entered and found ourselves in a very scary place.
"This is not where Ugin is," I said.
Nicol said, "it seems that you messed up."
I nodded. "I am very new to planeswalking," I said in defense of myself. "Ugin had not yet taught me to do it on my own."
"I see well you will get it."
I was surprised that Nicol was being nice about it. I winced. Feeling like I was going to be sick I leaned on Nicol's hand.
"The poison is getting to me," I confessed.
"You are not allowed to die here, got that?"
I nodded, and forced myself to stay awake, and prepared to planeswalk again.
Suddenly Nicol was struck by something hard, he turned around, and started into the face of a five headed dragon.
"Die Dracolich! Get out of my Avernus."
Nicol leapt back from this newcomer.
"What are you some kind of hydra?"
"Hydra the five headed dragon roared. I am Tiamat The Goddess of Chromatic Dragons, The Undying One the…"
Nicol interrupted her. "Well, I am Nicol Bolas, The god Pharaoh of Amenket, The Second Sun, the…"
Tiamat again interrupted Nicol. Shouting "I am the Dark Lady the…"
I was not sure if it was the fever from the poison taking hold or what but all of this was very funny, and I began to laugh weakly. Both dragons looked at me as if I myself had five heads. .
"I am sorry," I said, laughing still. "We are in so much trouble, and yet all you can do is argue about titles," and with that I lost consciousness.
"Trouble what trouble, how did she know that there is trouble here?" Tiamat demanded.
"This plane is falling apart," Nicol replied to Tiamats ranting. "I know not I only know of our trouble, and she is in bad shape, and if she dies I am trapped here as well as dead."
"What does it matter to me?" Tiamat demanded.
"You said that this plane is collapsing.
"She can planeswalk, and she is poisoned." Tiamat grumbled. "So we need her… well you need her. I don't." and Tiamat started to leave us, when a huge, familiar and terrifying creature appeared before us.
I opened up my eyes, and looked around. I saw huge tentacled creatures moving around the plane.
"The Eldrazi I asked Nicol How did they get here?" He shrugged.
"So that is what they are called?" Tiamat said, turning back to face us. "You know what these things are?"
"Well I have never seen one, but Ugin told me about them. If they are here they are destroying this plane," I confirmed.
Tiamat nodded her five heads, "then we need to leave."
"Indeed. We are going to Celestia to find Ugin, my twin, and Bahamut. That's where we are going," Nicol said. "If She survives that is," Nicol added as I started to collapse again.
Tiamat just looked at me as I struggled to remain conscious. Then she made a decision:
"I will help you if you let me come with you."
I looked at Nicol. "Well we can use all of the help that we can get."
He agreed I nodded feeling dizzy.
"Good come with me." and she took off heading toward a structure loomed in the distance.
Once there we found out that it was a castle. Not at all like Bahamut's palace. This place was terrifying in appearance with five dragon-like heads for towers. I shivered just looking at it. Tiamat took no notice of my discomfort.
"Welcome to my lair," she said with a flourish waving her wings. "You may enter."
With that we followed her inside the horrid structure.
The inside was huge, and treasure was spread out everywhere In every room that we saw. I asked Tiamat "this place is huge, do you live alone?"
"No, I have five other consorts that live here, but they have either fled or are dead."
"Oh I am sorry," I said.
"Does not matter she said. "I will just find new ones." She eyed Nicol. "Too bad that you are a lich. Otherwise you would have made a fine consort."
She then paused for a moment. "Though I'd wager even undead you could still fulfill my needs."
Nicol snorted in reply. "I have no need for such things," he said.
"Pity," Tiamat replied, but kept walking.
She then entered a room that was stuffed with vials, bottles filled with various liquids.
After a bit of searching she picked one, and brought it over to Nicol, and handed it to him.
"Here, take this," she told me "I don't know what kind of poison is coursing through your veins, but this will at least help you for a while. Be grateful that I have blessed you with an item from my personal hoard."
I tried to bow, and say a polite thank you, but ended up getting dizzy, and collapsing.
Nicol handed me the bottle, and I opened the lid, and drank the liquid within. It was bitter, and hot, but after a few moments of resting after taking it, I did indeed start to feel better. I was soon able to stand up, and prepare to leave once again This time with Tiamat in tow.
Not a moment too soon. Suddenly we were accosted by more dracoliches. These ones were more skeletal than anything, and they began to chase us.
"It's time to go,"the five headed dragon cried as Tiamat saw a lich that looked very much like her five heads, and all ridden by Almarra.
"Found you, and this time there will be no escape for any of you," she said with a snicker, and with that gave chase.
"We need to go now," Nicol said, and I concentrated once again entering the blind Eternities with Nico, and Tiamat.
Almarra watched them go.
"Follow them, Kill the dragons Bring Serenity back alive."
With that she cast the spell sending herself and her undead into the blind eternities as well.
