Title: A Love Worth Fighting For

Chapter 2

Thomas: "Talk to me."

(Hope briefly lowers her head before meeting Thomas' eyes again, smiling nervously)

Hope: "Are you sure? Remember, this is my mother we are talking about. I know she is not your greatest fan. In fact, this relationship we have…she does not support it." (chuckles dryly) "Not at all."

(Thomas gets off his desk chair and walks to where Hope is, holding out his hand to her)

Thomas: "Come here, baby."

(Hope gets up from her chair walks a step or two to Thomas. She rests her hand in his. He lifts her hand to his lips and gently kisses it before facing the love of his life)

Thomas: "You can tell me anything you want. No judgments. I am always on your side. If I ever disagree with you, I will kindly tell you why. But I will ALWAYS respect your decision and take your side in the end. You have me for life."

(Hope nods as she briefly looks down. She wanted to believe more than anything that she finally had a soulmate in Thomas. That Liam did not do everlasting damage. She just was not there yet. She feared that she would never be)

(She sighs deeply as she faces the man she couldn't help but adore with a smile)

Hope: "Mom has been against us from the very beginning."

(Thomas sighs deeply and nods)

Thomas: "I know. I am aware of that."

(Hope gets a bit teary-eyed, which Thomas notices, but he knows to let her continue)

Hope: "Ever since you and I first slept together at your place and my mom found out, she has warned me about you. How you are not good for me. How you are obsessed with me. How I should give Liam another chance." (laughs) "Even though he broke my heart into a million little pieces by always running to Steffy."

(Thomas sadly faces Hope and wipes a few tears that escaped her eyes. He wanted so badly to comfort her. To embrace her. To tell her that he will protect her from the world. But, for now? He needed to let her finish as she needed to get it out)

Hope: (sniffles) "She would tell me again and again, that I need to go back to Liam. When I would have a little bit of courage, Thomas, and tell my mother how much Liam hurt me by not forgiving me? By loving two different women? Her answer? That I should fight for him."

(Hope places some hair, that was in her face, behind her ears)

Hope: "Then when you and I started getting closer, she kept warning me about you and your obsessive ways. When I was brave enough to defend you and say that you only see me and no one else versus Liam?" (chuckles) "He saw both me and Steffy? Mom would repeat that I need to try putting my marriage back together."

(Hope tearfully tilts her head at the man she thinks she was falling for)

Hope: "That is why I kept pulling away from you, Thomas. It is like my heart was telling me to give you a chance because you have truly changed. But, everyone around me was getting in my head telling me to stay away. I-I did not know what to do! I love my daughter. She wanted her mother and father together. So, I had to try for her."

Thomas: "And that's okay, Hope. I completely understand. I do not blame you at all for trying to keep your family together because you love your daughter. I love Beth like a daughter, as well. I will be forever sorry for my role in what I did to her and you a long time ago. But, I appreciate it more than you know that you forgive me. It just angers me that everyone was telling you what to do when you are a beautiful, confident grown woman. Perfectly capable of making her own decisions and they are telling you what you should or should not do."

(Thomas shakes his head as he slides his hands through his dark hair, walking in a circle, before going back to Hope)

Thomas: "I knew that someone was getting in your head, baby. You know that I am a changed man" (scoffs) "Granted, not everyone believes that."

(Hope sniffles as she tilts her head and caresses Thomas' face)

Hope: "I know that it took me awhile to come around. For that, I am so sorry."

(Thomas shakes his head and smiles at his love)

Thomas: "No, never apologize. I knew you would get there when you were ready. I had faith in us. I was not in the best condition years ago. But, with therapy, and my family's support and your forgiveness, I was able to work on myself. Because of you, Hope, I am officially a healed and changed man."

(Hope rests her hands on both sides of Thomas' face and smiles)

Hope: "And I, for one, am so grateful and happy about that."

Thomas: "I love you, Hope Logan. You will say the words when you are ready. Do not let anyone pressure you to say the words any sooner." (rolls his eyes) "I know Steffy can be a handful."

Hope: "Oh, your sister. Never!" (laughs)

Thomas: "DON'T let her get to you."

Hope: "I've made it as clear as I can be where I stand with you to your family and mine." (shrugs) "I just don't know if it is enough."

Thomas: "To me, it is. As long as we are always honest with each other, that is all I care about. And we are nothing but honest with each other." (chuckles) "I did not appreciate your mother or my mother trying to keep us apart. I guess that will never stop them, though."

Hope: (chuckles) "Unfortunately, it won't. But, in the end, you and I can make our own decisions."

(Thomas and Hope wrap their arms around each other and smile)

Thomas: "Yes, we can. And I am so glad on that."

***Brooke & Ridge's Place***

(Brooke was surprised to hear a knock at the front door, considering she was not expecting any company. She goes to the front door, opens it, to see Liam on the other side)

Brooke: "Liam? What can I do for you?"

Liam: "Hi. I think it is time we talk about your daughter. I am concerned about Hope."
