Title: A Love Worth Fighting For

Chapter 3

(Brooke looks at Liam in confusion)

Brooke: "Why are you so concerned about Hope? What happened?"

Liam: "Are you aware that she is seeing Thomas?"

Brooke: (sighs) "Yes, I am. Although, I am not happy about it."

Liam: "When I came by to see her the other night, let's just say she wasn't dressed to see me."

Brooke: "Oh, let me guess. She was dressed in lingerie for Thomas?"

Liam: (nods) "Yes. You must have been there earlier."

Brooke: (nods) "I was. Again, I am not happy about her relationship with Thomas. I have made that crystal clear. But apparently, she finds something appealing in him. I encouraged her to fight for you…even though you told her it was over."

(Liam looked like he wanted to defend himself. However, he knew it was not worth it)

Liam: "I will always care for Hope. We will co-parent Beth together. I-I just…I don't know how she could be with him after everything he has done."

Brooke: (nods) "I agree."

Liam: "Are you aware that Hope and Thomas are just having a fling? No strings attached?" (scoffs) "Brooke, I am sorry. But that does not sound like your daughter."

Brooks: "Awe, yes. Well, there has been a lot of things lately that does not sound like Hope. However, she has made it clear that she is old enough to make her own choices."

(He decided, in that moment, what the hell? He had nothing to lose. He was going to tell Brooke everything that he knew)

Liam: "Did she, uh, also mention that she is going to be present right now? Meaning, may be interested in another baby?"

(Brooke looked at her ex-son-in-law in astonishment! What the hell is Hope thinking? Brooke takes a step towards Liam)

Brooke: (raises her voice) "What is Hope thinking?"

Liam: (nods) "I thought the same thing. I even asked her if she was on birth control."

Brooke: "Oh, I bet she loved being asked that question."

Liam: "Yeah, she basically told me it was none of my business."

Brooke: "Well, being you two aren't married anymore, I can see her point on that."

(Liam rolls his eyes in response before continuing)

Liam: "Are we the only ones who don't approve of Hope and Thomas' relationship?"

Brooke: "No, pretty much everyone doesn't want them together. Well, except for Douglas. I guess he wants his parents together."

Liam: "Thomas took Hope from me and she let him. I can't believe she doesn't see that."

Brooke: (shrugs) "Hope could argue that you turned to Steffy when things got tough, Liam."

(Once again, Liam rolls his eyes in annoyance)

Liam: "Can you please help me out here, Brooke? Hope is making a mistake."

Brooke: "Liam, Hope is old enough to make her own decisions."

(Liam raises his hands to his sides)

Liam: "Even when they're the wrong ones?"

(Brooke points at the door)

Brooke: "Please see yourself out. I have said everything I want to on the matter."

(Liam shakes his head in defeat as he leaves. Brooke crosses her arms over her chest)

Brooke: "Oh, Hope. I sure hope you know what you are doing."

***Hope and Thomas' Office***

(Thomas and Hope are caught off-guard when Steffy knocks on the half-open office door)

Thomas: "Steffy, what can we do for you?"

Steffy: "I need to talk to you both about whatever this… is." (gestures)

(Thomas rolls his eyes and Hope sighs deeply)

Hope: "What this is between your brother and I? It's just that. It's between him and I."

Steffy: "Hope, are you trying to hurt him? You know about his past. You know how obsessed he was with you."

Thomas: "And that was years ago, Steffy. People change. I have changed. Unless you don't believe in me."

Steffy: (shakes her head) "No, I'm not saying that. What I am saying is I don't want Hope to play with your heart."

(Thomas and Hope look at each other as they were getting tired of Steffy's rant)

Steffy: "Hope, if you hurt my brother, you will answer to me. Understand?"

(Thomas had enough of Steffy going after the woman he loves)

Thomas: "Okay, that's enough. Steffy, I love you. You're my sister. But, you need to back off."

(Steffy looks between Thomas and Hope)

Steffy: "Are you saying that you're NOT worried that she'll break your heart? Because that's where this is leading. That is what she will do."

(Before Thomas can say another word, Hope makes her presence known again)

Hope: "Thomas, can you please leave the office? I think it's time your sister and I get a few things straight."

(Hope looks at Thomas, who looks at his girl. He nods and then walks towards Steffy, facing her, gesturing)

Thomas: "I am finally happy, Steffy. After all these years of therapy, working on myself, and being with Hope. Please don't ruin this."

(Thomas turns around to face Hope and offers a smile before making his exit. The two women face each other as it was clear this conversation was long overdue)
