"Marine, kiddo it's time to wake up. Isn't it your first day today." Sonic said to Marine who was currently curled up in her blankets in her room. "Coming in a few minutes…" Marine said until a delicious smell wafted upstairs making her sit up knocking Sonic off the bed.

"Maddie must be making pancakes. Get dressed okay." Sonic said leaving her room seeing Shadow flying out of his room sluggishly so she guessed he was in need of coffee heading to the bathroom to pee and brush her fangs then got dressed not caring about the bedfur sliding downstairs on the banister landing on her furry feet giggling scampering to the kitchen seeing Shadow pouring himself black coffee into a mug waving as she sensed right now, he wasn't in the mood to talk which was okay.

"Mmmmmm these pancake things are really good along with the syrup hehehe." Marine said giggling.

"Somebody's teacher will have quite the morning, with her like this." Tom said leaving.

"Does Tom not like me or something. Did I do something wrong." Marine asked confused.

"No but he'll come around. You excited about your first day." Sonic told her.

"Yeah I guess." Marine said softly making Maddie understand, reassuring her it would be okay and to just have fun as she grabbed her backpack getting in the car with Sonic and Tails as Shadow watched them leave the house hoping Marine would have a good first day pouring himself cereal as he wasn't in the mood for pancakes.

Later Marine was sitting at the pickup line outside the elementary school as it'd not been a great first day as she'd imagined but decided to not tell Maddie if she asked when she picked her up in case she worried as she took care of herself and saw Maddie's car pull up as she went and got in it as she buckled herself in.

"How was your day. You look a lil… sad." Maddie asked from the driver's sear making Marine sigh. " It was okay." Marine answered making Sonic sense she wasn't telling the whole story which they could talk about at home making Tails get it as Marine needed to spill the tea but saw her scamper upstairs when they got home closing and locking her door, a sign she wanted to be alone making Sonic concerned asking Shadow to teleport him in there.

"No. She had a bad first day and doesn't want to talk right now. Don't poke a raccoon unlessyou want the claws." Shadow said as he was going downstairs to the kitchen so he could help making Sonic hope Marine was okay guessing Shadow might be right taking deep-breaths
