Chapter 7: Family Game

Finally after a big long day of fun and excitement, and some physical pain of course, the murder professionals and their pup were leaving the festival grounds and making their way back to Joe and Lin's ranch house with the sky slowly turning into dark. Jax was walking along holding Millie's hand as she smiled down at him.

"Well Jax, what did you think of the festival so far? Was it interesting for your first time?" Millie asked happily

"Well I say I did have fun, even though the pain games were dangerous like Mr. Joe said." Jax answered

"What would you say was your most favorite part of the whole event?" Millie asked again

"I say my favorite part was when Mr. Stolas opened the magical portal in the sky and made the red moon appear! It was amazing!" Jax smiled

"You mean the Harvest Moon kiddo?" Loona asked

"Yes, that's what I mean." Jax confirmed

Meanwhile Moxxie and Blitzo on the other hand were struggling to walk with their sore and stiff bodies for they were still trying to recover from the Pain Games.

"Oh!...Ow!…Ugh!" Moxxie painfully groaned on each step

"Ugh, I think I may be getting too old for this shit, and I sure as Hell hope I'm really not." Blitzo groaned as he held his sore back

"I hope you are sir." Moxxie remarked out of sass

Later that night at 7 PM

We now cut back to the farmhouse where the whole family was gathered in the dimly lit living room. They were all playing a fun family game together where you act like you're doing something specific and someone has to guess correctly on what you're pretending to do. Right now Sallie May was up as she stood on the rug in front of the TV while slowly moving her hand left and right in front of her belt line like she was petting an invisible animal. Everyone else was all sitting on the couch and floor watching her and trying to guess on what she was pretending to be doing.

"Alright, can y'all guess what I'm doing?" Sallie asked as she continued moving her hand in the same motion

"Ummmmm…Are you slaying like a pop star?" Millie asked

"Nope." Sallie said

"Are you fluffing a bed sheet?" Lin asked

"Nuh-Uh"

"Oh! Are you sliding tax documents into a paper shredder?" Blitzo asked in high hopes he would be right

"Not even close." Sallie smirked

"Damn!" Blitzo groaned

At that point everyone gave up.

"Sigh, Alright Sallie, we give up. Can you tell us what you're pretending to do?" Millie asked

"*Giggles* I am petting a gentle tiger." Sallie revealed

"Darn, how did we not get that." Lin said

With that, Sallie stops moving her hand and picks out Jax to come up and have a turn.

"Alright, next up is Jax. Have at it buddy." Sallie said before she went and sat back down

Jax gets up from the floor next to Loona and goes to stand on the rug in front of everyone.

"Okay, ummm…" Jax thinks hard as he tries to decide to what he should pretend to do

"Whenever you're ready sweety, take your time." Lin smiled as everyone else had their full attention on the pup

At that moment, Jax finally comes up with something as he starts to act like he's grabbing a cup and filling it up from a machine before putting in a straw.

"Oh, you're holding a cup. Are you making a milkshake?" Millie asked

"Nope, that's not it." Jax said

"Are you fixing up a cocktail?" Blitzo asked

"I don't even know what that is, but no that's not what I'm doing." Jax said again

"Are you uhhh…Are you pouring yourself some orange juice?" Joe asked

Jax smiles before shaking his head 'No'.

"Damn, this kid's good." Joe said

"Alright Jax, you win. Why don't you let us in on what you're doing." Loona said

"I am getting a slushie at a convenience store." Jax revealed

"Ohhhh I see now." Millie said

"Mmmm slushies, they are so yummy and sweet." Sallie May smiled as she licked her lips

"Alright Jaxy, who are you gonna pick to go next?" Lin asked

With that, Jax looks over at Loona and happily picks her out of course.

"My Mommy will go next." Jax pointed

"Aww Yeah! My Loonie is up next! Let's go!" Blitzo said excitedly

"Oh boy." Loona lightly groaned before she got up off the floor and went to take the spot on the rug while Jax went to sit back down joining with the others

"Sigh, Alright here I go." Loona said before she glared her eyes and started moving left her hand in a forward jabbing motion pretending like she was wielding a sword

"…Are you poking at a beehive?" Millie asked

"I am poking at something alright, but it's not a beehive." Loona said

"Are you…mugging someone?" Moxxie asked

"Nope." Loona said again

"Are you a pirate, Mommy?" Jax asked which was actually the correct guess

"Ding! You are correct Jax. I'm a pirate chick forcing someone off a plank with a sword." Loona revealed

"Yes! I got it!" Jax cheered proudly

"Loona, did you purposely let him win?" Blitzo chuckled

"You know what, this game is too tricky for me. I'm about ready for bed." Moxxie said

"YAWWWN! Me too Moxxie. It is getting pretty late. Good times were had by all." Millie smiled

"I suppose you are right Millie. It's time for bed everyone." Lin agreed

With that, everyone all got up and started to go upstairs to perform their bedtime routine of changing their clothes and brushing their teeths.

Later

After getting dressed in his jammies and finishing up on brushing his teeth, Jax let out a yawn as he was about to walk into the guest room where Loona was waiting to tuck him in right before Millie called him from another room across the hall.

"Pssst, hey Jax." Millie whispered getting the pups attention

Jax's ears perked up before turning his head to face his aunty figure who was dressed in her black silky sleepwear standing in the doorway of Sallie's room.

"Come in here Jaxy, we got something fun for you." Millie smiled

"Gasp! You got something fun?" Jax asked excitedly

At that moment, Loona came stepping out wondering what was going on.

"Jax, are you coming to bed kiddo?" Loona asked

"He will be there soon Loona, I just gonna borrow him for a while." Millie said

"…Okay, just don't be too long." Loona granted before going back into her and Jax's room

And so Jax eagerly runs over to Millie where she ushers him inside Sallie's room before closing the door. Jax was greeted by Sallie May sitting on her bed in her sleepwear holding a flashlight as there was a few lit candles set up all around the room dimly lighting up the place. Millie helps Jax get up on the bed before coming up with him and they both sit down on the sheets facing Millie's sister.

"So what is happening here? What's the fun part?" Jax asked

"Sallie May here is gonna tell us a ghost story." Millie smiled

"A ghost story?" Jax asked

"Get ready for a dose of Heebie Jeebies." Sallie smirked as she turned on the flashlight and held it to her face for dramatic appearance

"Ummm is the story gonna be scary?" Jax asked as his excitement vanished

"Of course it is, that's what ghost stories are for. But rest assured Jax, I will be right here with you sweetie." Millie tenderly assured as she wrapped her arm around the pup and took out a bowl of popcorn to help him feel comfortable
