Some weeks later at the JLF hideout in Narita Mountain.

Time had passed after Kira's unprecedented arrival upon a Japan that is unlike of his knowledge as he is found unconscious by Tohdoh of the JLF and taken in by them. Right now, he is found in a room filled with electronics such as TVs, cameras, radio, walkie talkies, and more. The young man currently handling and fixing a pair of four radios.

Rotating and turning its channel, Kira finds the right frequencies and connected the walkie talkies frequencies together.

"Alright." Kira smiles and sighs as he just finished the last batch of his work. "This is done."

As Kira was setting the fixed radios aside, the door to the room slides open and Nagisa came in with a tall dark blue haired Japanese man. the Japanese woman carrying a tray filled with a plate of onigiri that has a side of Takuan and a cup of warm green tea, but the Japanese man is pulling a trolley that had crates filled with what appears to be broken electronic devices.

"Seems that you just finished last week's work." Nagisa said as she went and set the tray of food to a nearby table. "however, there's still this week's batch for work."

"again?" Kira asks surprised as the tall Japanese man pulled the trolley nearby and then placed the crates down on the floor. "just how are you all breaking these as fast as I can fix it, Urabe-san?"

"don't ask me. ask the higher ups." The tall man said with a smile as he is Kosetsu Urabe, a subordinate of Tohdoh and a close friend of Nagisa. "don't worry, this is batch is smaller than last weeks."

"you said that last time." Kira said as he picks out a broken radio that is snapped in half. "how am I supposed to fix something like this?"

After his unexpected encounter with the JLF, Kira had been brought the leader of JLF named Katase Tatewaki who sees him as a half Japanese and was skeptical to let him stay with them or not. Considering the fact that the brunette is seen as a half Japanese and all. However Tohdoh told the general that he might be of use to them and when was asked of what he could do, the young Coordinator responded by telling them that he is good with electronics and such.

At first, he wasn't that trusted but after Kira fixed their enemy tracking radar by just changing the program a few times and then fixing up their Knightmare units' software in mere minutes when it took their best engineer a month or so to do it. This leads to him being accepted into the JLF with a position of him being the repairman of all the JLF's electronic devices.

Setting up the broken devices on a table, Kira is sitting nearby but was eating the food that Nagisa brought as it is his meal for lunchtime.

"still, I can't believe that it took you only an hour or so to fix these stuff." Urabe said as he picks up a radio box that he turned on and begins to tune in on the available channels. "It took our normal worker about a day to properly fix it and all."

"it just needed to be tweaked a bit." Kira said as he bites down on his riceballs before taking a sip of his green tea. "it's very simple to be fixed unlike the Knightmare units."

"ah, speaking of Knightmare." Nagisa spoke out. "Tohdoh-san needs you to do another recheck of our Burai Kai's systems. It seems that there is a time lag in its motor response."

"yes, I'll get to it." Kira said as he finished his riceballs, his takuan, and then chugs down his green tea in one go before sighing in satisfaction. He then stands up from his seat and heads straight for the door. "Thank you for the meal. I'll be leaving for the hangar."

"hey, let the food digest first before you.." Urabe called out to Kira but the young man was already out and gone from the room. "and he's gone before I knew it." He then sighs with a smile before he looks at Nagisa. "that kid is sure a peculiar one, ain't he? Tohdoh-san was right to take him in."

"indeed." Nagisa nodded as she went and picked up the tray of the finished meal. "after his arrival, all of our electrical equipment has improved and our military rates have increased.." she then frowns when she picks up the teacup to the tray. "but…"

"but…he's still being ostracized by the others, is it?" Urabe asks and Nagisa nodded which made him sigh while shaking his head. "everyone else needs to get over the fact that he's half japanese and all."

When Kira was taken in by the JLF, he had a hard time adjusting to his surroundings as most of the members of the organization didn't like him because of him not a true Japanese. They would all shun him away and not be near him like he's some sort of a virus. This saddens the brunette yet there are those who didn't do such things and they are Tohdoh, along with Nagisa and three of her comrades along with Katase Tatewaki who didn't care if he was half or not. As of now, he's only able to live in the hideout comfortably thanks to them.

In an underground hangar area of the JLF hideout, Kira walks in as he finds mechanics working around several Knightmare Frames called Bura. The units getting tuned up with their pilots nearby.

"where is.." Kira looks around before he spotted Tohdoh with a few mechanics as the man was standing near a Burai which has been modified with special parts to make it a Burai Kai. "Tohdoh-san!"

Tohdoh heard Kira as he turns to see the young man coming to him.

"have you finished your work with the electronic devices?" Tohdoh asks and Kira nodded before he chuckles a bit awkwardly.

"but I haven't started to work with this week's batch." Kira said while scratching the back of his head. "could it be possible to ask everyone to be more gentle with their devices?"

"I'll do what I can." Tohdoh said after chuckling before he turns to look at a PC that has cables attached to its port and those cables connected its software with that of the Burai's. "Chiba told you of our little problem, hasn't she?"

"yes, is it the time frame of its movement?" Kira asks as he went to the PC while the mechanics nearby moved back to give him space. The young man begins to use his specialty as his fingers types the keyboard very fast while his eyes checked all the data that he is getting. "was it slower than before?"

"no, it was fast yet it felt a bit too fast." Tohdoh said while crossing his arms. "the motors started to creaking noises and nearly failed because of how fast the Burai Kai responded to my command." He then looks at the machine. "Can you make it into a somewhat normal speed?"

"I'll see what I can do." Kira said as he keeps on his focus to the PC's screen and the data that he is inputting and changing via each code. "Can you please get on board and move it so that I can make proper adjustments?"

"sure." Tohdoh nodded as he went and gets into the back cockpit of the Burai Kai which soon activates and gets up.

"move the arms one by one." Kira called out as he is checking the systems that show the movement of the Knightmare unit. "I'll calibrate directly and manually."

Tohdoh nodded as he did as Kira instructed to do, the Japanese man raising the Burai Kai's arms up before it proceeded to do several punches that were fast and precise.

"I see.. this is it." Kira looks at the screen that shows the motors of the Burai Kai being stressed by such fast movements, so he inputted the data to make the movements slower yet remained precise. "Please try again."

Tohdoh did as he was told and this time the Burai Kai made punching movements that were a tad slower yet still precise.

"alright, I'll save this data input and proceed with the program's adjustments." Kira nodded his head as he saved the software's changed data then looks at the nearby mechanics. "I'll proceed to transfer the data to the other Knightmare units, so please get them prepared."

"u-uh…" the mechanics looks a bit dumbfounded when they see what Kira did, they just stood around in their place before they see Tohdoh coming down his Knightmare and then faced them.

"What are you standing there dumbfounded!? Hurry and do as he says!" Tohdoh exclaimed and this made the mechanics snapped out of their thoughts before proceeding to do as he ordered. After they scurried off, he sighs with a disapproving face. "even after General Katase had told them…"

"It's fine." Kira said as Tohdoh looks at him just smiling a bit sadly. "I'm used to this type of thing."

"used to it…" Tohdoh muttered before he turns to face Kira. "you were also discriminated from where you originally from?"

"not really." Kira said before he slowly turns and looks at the PC's screen. "it's more like people would see me differently after knowing what I truly am. I just got used to their stares and everything, that's all."

"I see." Tohdoh said after nodding his head. "you have a strong and brave heart, Kira." He then smiles. "must be the Japanese Blood in you."

"I think so." Kira chuckles before he sees the pc screen showing an error sign and that made him sigh while rechecking it. "another problem again."

"What is it?" Tohdoh asks while coming near to see what Kira was doing.

"it's the system not accepting the recalibration that I did." Kira stated while checking all the data that are being processed. "considering that the Burai Kai is just an upgraded version of an old knightmare frame called the Glasgow. There isn't enough space for the system to contain the data."

"hmm. I see. So it cannot keep up, is that it?" Todoh asks and Kira nodded. "will it pose a problem when used in combat?"

"no, it's just that the system won't be able to properly connect with its main frame system in usage of communication and navigation." Kira replied as he checks and sees the PC screen showing the entire schematics of the Burai and that of the Glasgow. "there's too much data of the old Knightmare Frame on its systems. Who had the idea to make such a machine?"

"You sound angry about it." Tohdoh said while crossing his arms. "have you been an engineer of some sort before?"

"Just a programmer and part time mechanic for robotics." Kira stated as his fingers quickly typed the keys on the pc. "I have the skills to understand technology and mechanical objects since I was young, therefore I went to a school about robotics."

"I see.." Tohdoh nodded his head in understanding. "and seeing the Burai upclose, it somewhat fascinates you of its built?"

"not really." Kira shakes his head as this made Tohdoh look a bit surprised. "Due to the fact that the Burai is essentially a recycled Knightmare, it has a liability in its general performance and effectiveness which is only sub-par in comparison to the likes of more advanced Knightmares." He checks and the systems' old Data of the Glasgow all disappeared. "with how old the base Glasgow is and how defective it is, the Burai can easily be outmatched and outmaneuvered by advanced knightmares in battle. I believe that this type of unit's worth is only in the cost of mass producing them."

"well…that is true." Tohdoh spoke as he nodded in understanding. "our fundings are limited regarding the procurement of Knightmare units. I can understand that you find that this unit is rather obsolete"

"not true." Kira stated. "though the frame is quite obsolete, the weaponry makes up for it." He presses the enter button and he sees the weapons available for the Burai along with the weapons it had before remodeling. "20mm Assault Rifle with usage of Electromagnetic repulsions for firing. A torso mounted machine gun used for infantry, Hand Protectors, Slash Harken.." he thought of the weapons listed as he thinks of how the rifle is quite unique but the torso mounted machine gun and hand protectors are just accessories, but the Slash Harken reminded him of the Blitz' Gleipner. "this is one unique feature of the Knightmare that allows for battle along with ease of mobility at certain vertical terrains." He then made a noise when he finds that there is another weapon listed on the schematics but unavailable on the machine itself. "Stun Tonfas? Usage for stunning and such?" he then looks at Tohdoh. "why is such a weapon not mounted onto the Burai? This could be a very useful weapon in case other weaponry are unavailable."

"well, most Japanese would prefer melee swords and such." Tohdoh stated. "and no one can use Tonfas these days."

"still it's a proper weapon in case of certain situations. " Kira said before he looks back at the PC. "perhaps you should remount them in case you may need of it." He looks back at Tohdoh. "could it be possible to ask your benefactor to produce the items needed to fully upgrade the Burai's equipment? To further improve the chances of success in battle?"

"that's…" Tohdoh spoke for a moment before he pauses and then thinks about it then nodded his head. "I'll converse with Gen. Kitase and discuss about it with our financer. But it will be quite difficult considering our budget."

"very well." Kira nodded before he focuses back on the machine's system. "I'll do another manual adjustment with this Burai Kai and the others. I'll be able to properly adjust their movements to each pilot's controls."

"then I'll call for the Four Holy Swords to come here right now." Tohdoh stated. "think you can stay here until they come?"

"yes." Kira nodded before having a small smile. "I'm a teenager, after all."

Tohdoh sighs with a smile in response before he nodded and then leaves straight for the nearby doorway.

As Todoh left, Kira is left by his own world in tinkering with the Burai's systems.

"just who designed this type of machine?" Kira asks. "why is the main sensor on the head and why is it left vulnerable when opened? Just who created this Factsphere Sensor?"

This is what Kira has been going through for the past few days, to work with the JLF while trying to collect information of everything that has occurred in the world along with trying to find his comrades.

Meanwhile at Hidaka Ghetto, upon the beaten and broken concrete road.

Athrun and Cagalli are found travelling in the area while carrying backpacks that had their needed supplies in it. Tori is flying around in the air as the mechanical bird is free spirited and quite the adventurous bird.

"still further ahead, huh?" Cagalli asks Athrun who nodded while taking out an old map of the area. "just how far does this Ghetto place reach out for?"

"judging by the map, about a few kilometers at most." Athrun said before he folded the map and stored it away. "but with our map being old, I think it might be farther."

"haaa….another camp night again, huh?" Cagalli sighs a bit tiredly in response.

After their arrival to the current world, Athrun and Cagalli had begun to travel around the area while collecting information about where they are and also helping those in need, even if they were greeted with hostility at first.

"hey, will the Strike Rouge really be safe underground?" Cagalli asks as her Gundam was left behind and hidden in an underground tunnel. "won't it be found by someone?"

"I doubt it." Athrun replied. "We've sealed off the Underground tunnel's passage way and even if someone did find it, they won't be able to do anything with it considering the program lock I've installed to its system.

After leaving the mall, Athrun and Cagalli decided to bring the Strike Rouge into an underground tunnel bunker that had seemed to be leftover from a war. The bunker was large enough to store the Strike Rouge as it was placed there for safekeeping until the two comes back for it.

"hey, if we got here in the Strike Rouge…" Cagalli spoke before she glances at Athrun. "do you think Kira in the Freedom…?"

"It's highly possible." Athrun nodded his head. "he was in it before Genesis exploded, the chances aren't high nor are they even slim."

"yeah…that's right." Cagalli said as she fills herself with a sense of optimism that her brother might be well and alive somewhere in the world they are currently in. "we just got to get more info and we might have a bigger chance of finding him!"

"yeah." Athrun nodded, both keeps on walking as they head straight for the border of the Ghetto as they plan to enter a metropolitan area.

At another time in Aikawa Ghetto's forest area and within a large cave area.

The Duel Gundam and the CGUE Deep Arms are found inside and kneeling on the ground, both mobile suits have their cockpit opened. Below and near them are Yzak and Shiho who have a camp set up as they had acquired all the items after doing a quick scavenging of the Ghetto.

Right now, Yzak is sitting by a table as he is fixing while also hooking up an old PC with that of a new computer piece from a Sutherland's cockpit; the object of which was taken into their hideout for information collection purposes. The silver haired teen had the top part of his pilot suit off and with its sleeves tied around his waist in order to let him breathe a bit easier because of how he and Shiho are on earth.

Yzak grabs a pair of wire pliers and uses them to cut some wires before he hooks them up to a pc flash drive that he inserted into the old PC that has its screen lit up while showing dozens of data that is being calculated.

"did it work?" Shiho asks as she came to Yzak while holding a metal mug filled with warm coffee.

"All of these are nothing but barely working junk…" Yzak grumbled as he has been doing this for a few days, the silver haired man had just finished getting the old pc to work again a day ago. The man sits and begins to type on the keyboard. "at least, this machine's PC is somewhat advanced to be worked with."

"Will it be able to collect information from this small mobile suit's pc?" Shiho asks while placing the metal mug near the pc for Yzak to take. "I believe it to be impossible considering how damaged the equipment was when we collected it."

"I thought so at first, but whoever made this small mobile suit had prioritized its computer functions instead of the motors and calculation relays." Yzak said as he accessed all the data in the PC before he finds schematic information about the Sutherland's full form. "so this small mobile suit is called a Knightmare Frame Type; the Sutherland.." he cups his chin and scratches it a few times. "this is quite odd."

"What is?" Shiho asks while looking closer to the PC's screen.

"This Knightmare doesn't run on any power source that we are familiar with." Yzak stated as he checks the Sutherland's schematics in its power source. "it works on something called the Yggdrasil Driver which is powered by liquid Sakuradite?" he raised an eyebrow while looking completely baffled. "What is with this technology? It's so damn primitive."

"5TH generation Knightmare Frame, Model Number: RPI-13, Unit Type: Mass Produced, Overall Height and weight: 4.39 meters/ 7.48 metric tons." Shiho reads the schematics information of the Sutherland. "Armor Materials: Tungsten? Manufacturer: Holy Britannian Empire?" her eyes grew confused when reading more of the information. "This is a completely brittle machine. It won't even stand up against a Ginn's Saber at all, let alone a handheld RPG."

"Seems that wherever we are, the people who manufactured these Knightmare Frames are idiotic imbeciles." Yzak stated as he taps the Enter button and all the accessed data gathers into one schematic frame. "to think that they didn't set up a password protection for their machine's systems, did they not think of any precautions for if their weapons fell into their enemy hands?" he then checks the systems once again and this time it displayed the weapons available upon it. "yet their weaponry are quite advance. Just look at this schematics for their assault rifle." He presses a button and the pc screen shows the blueprints of the Sutherland's Assault Rifle. "it doesn't even use Gunpowder."

"doesn't use gunpowder?" Shiho asks surprised. "if they don't use gunpowder, how could they fire the bullets?"

"seems that they use strong electromagnetic pulses." Yzak stated as he finds out how the firing mechanism works. "the bullets doesn't need a casing meaning more space for guns magazine to put in more ammo. It packs quite the firepower."

"and with the housing of the battery in the back cockpit area, there is enough space to house more power in accelerating the speed of the fire bullet." Shiho added in while cupping her chin. "it's amazing."

"amazing as it is, it still vulnerable towards any Electronic Magnetic Pulses." Yzak said as he thought about the incident at Panama when the Alliance Mobile Suits and facilities were immediately rendered unusable by the powerful EMP blast caused by ZAFT Gungnir. "once the EMP is unleashed, there's nothing left but piles of junk." he sighs and then picks up the mug of coffee and took a sip before gagging a bit. "Ugh! This world's coffee is just as bad as their machine's damn specs!"

"Well, it was from scavenged coffee powder" Shiho told her comrade as they collected their present provisions from an abandoned store in the Ghetto, the place of which barely had any edible food left in it. "we might need to go to the city if we are to survive from provisions and such."

"ah, that's true." Yzak cups his chin and scratches it a few times. "but considering how we are complete strangers to this area of the land, we might need to forge identities." He then checks his PC as he accessed the Knightmare's data and finds a map showing the nearby metropolitan area named Tokyo. "at this Tokyo Metropolitan area is our best place to go to. We can get more information there after blending into their society."

"if we do so, how would be able to do it?" Shiho asks. "There's no doubt that the government of this land has security measures for trespassers. How would we be able to get there?"

Yzak thinks about it before he accessed the data once again to find personal data information of the Sutherland's former pilot who was killed when facing him and Shiho's mobile suit.

"I believe it's a simple task to do so with this information." Yzak said as he copies the data into a different folder. "before we do our infiltration into unknown territory, we will need false identities." He then looks at Shiho. "didn't we salvage broken satellite equipment before?"

"yes." Shiho nodded. "though a bit outdated, I believe it still works."

"good." Yzak nods before he focuses back on the PC. "first step for infiltration would be to directly input our false identities into this Britannia government's registration system. We'll need to set up the satellite equipment near the border of the gates so that we can access the systems." He then looks at Shiho. "think you can go to the desolate ruined city nearby and hopefully find us clothing to use?"

"I had travelled into a desolate mall area that may help procure them." Shiho nodded to Yzak who nodded back.

"I'll get onto work with our fake identities and then we'll pack up what we need before we go do our plan." Yzak said as he types his fingers on the keyboard as fast as he can before he taps the Enter button which turns off the PC. "understand? This is an unknown world we are going into, therefore keep any communications with the people there to a minimum."

"yes." Shiho nodded. "I understand."

"good." Yzak nodded back before he close the PC and gets off the seat. "I'm going to get this cave camouflaged so that no one would be able to spot it via visually nor digitally." He then went off. "set your machine's energy system to stall mode in order to preserve power. I doubt that one flight didn't drain a quarter of its already depleted energy cells."

"yes, I already did." Shiho nodded. "I've also set out an isolated distress signal in case any ZAFT Forces might be present somewhere in the world and could pick it up."

"good." Yzak said as he went around the nearby tent then gets an old axe and a hand gun that he slides into the back of his pants. "make sure that the frequency of the signal is broadcasted once every 24 hours. Repeating it would just drain the energy."

"yes." Shiho nods before she went to her mobile suit while Yzak went straight for the cave's exit as he plans to chop off any part of the forest to make the camouflage needed to cover the cave.

At the outskirts of Hidaka Ghetto, Athrun and Cagalli are traveling on foot yet again as both are heading straight for the nearby Britannia settlement.

Both are just going around and walking up the beaten down streets while trying their best to not get too much attention from people who might try and rob them of their belongings.

"man, that was rough." Cagalli said to Athrun, both walking over a broken lamp pole and then sliding pass a destroyed car's remains. "what is with this place and its people?" she glances at the navy haired man. "are most people in this Ghetto Area after each other's throat or what?"

"to be precise, they are after people who are Britannian." Athrun stated, he along with Cagalli were travelling and ran along with some bad crowd that wanted them away while also wanting their belongings. "I'm guessing with the whole war that made Japan become Area 11, the remnants of the once former nation are striving to retake it."

"I guess that's why there are so many Japan gangs and all." Cagalli said. "even back in Orb, I heard that Japan has a lot of political problem with its people who are all crazy about preserving their national rights." She sighs. "here I wanted to believe that it wasn't all true."

"expectations can always betray you at times, Cagalli." Athrun stated before he made a noise and then held a hand in front of Cagalli who stopped. "stop."

"What's wrong?" Cagalli asks before she looks to the front and she made a surprised noise because Athrun had stopped her due to the fact that there are armed Japanese men and women who are coming out of alleys and several hiding places. "not this again…"

"hey, you two!" one of the armed Japanese stepped forward, this man being large and burly while wielding a sharp iron pole that served as a spear that was swung to the side. "you guys are the Brits who've been going around our town and acting all goody two shoes to us folks!? Huh?!" the spear was then held to point the sharpness at Athrun and Cagalli. "What is that fucking Brit nobles thinking of doing now!? Acting all nice just to do what!? get us to lower our guard down!?"

"we're not Bri-.." Cagalli was about to explain things but Athrun went and stopped her before she could say anything further by pushing her back. "Athrun?"

"they won't believe that we're not Britannians and I doubt that they'll let us pass like this." Athrun told Cagalli before he turns and faces the armed Japanese group. "let me handle this."

"but…" Cagalli tried to stop him but Athrun just went and took a few steps forward while slowly raising out his arms.

"we're not here to do any harm to you all." Athrun spoke out. "we're just travelling around and only helping those in need. We're not associated with any of the Britannia nobles and such not make us any part of their military." He raises his arms up again. "we're just travellers who want to get to where we want to."

"and where you want to go, huh?" the gang leader asks with an annoyed look.

"to the nearby settlement by the outskirts." Athrun said while pointing a finger overhead. "We're just heading there to enter the city."

"oh, so you guys are here for what? to loot us more of the things that we are barely keeping together?!" the gang leader shouted while slamming his spear rod to the ground. "I saw you guys before! You guys collect stuff from other places! Clothes! Food! Gears! Anything you guys can get your hands on! You guys are trying to kill us out, right?!"

"We're not doing anything like that." Athrun stated. "yes, we've taken some items on our journey. But they were only to supply us with what we needed to go through the nights." He sighs a bit and slowly lowers his hand a bit. "When we came here, we've lost most of our equipment, therefore we needed to scavenge and salvage items."

"oh, right…is that it?" the gang leader spoke out before he grins. "then if you're going to be leaving here, how about you leave behind all the stuff you got?" he then wields and points the spear rod at Athrun. "Of course, when I mean all the stuff I also mean all the money you got on you." He then smirks while pointing the spear at Cagalli's direction. "even your girlfriend there."

Hearing this, Athrun got defensive to the point he quickly reached for his back and then pulls out his M18 handgun which he pointed at the gang leader who immediately readied his main weapon with his followers who followed in action.

"there's no need for violence." Athrun spoke out. "just let us through and we won't ever bother you all again. You have my word."

"you think you can boss us around when you got one stinking gun while me and my gang have an arsenal!?" the gang leader shouted. "by the time you use up all the bullets in that gun, you're dead! And when you're dead…!"

BANG!

A gunshot echoed into the air as the Gang Leader looks surprised at his right hand because his spear rod disappeared.

"eh?" he looks around for his weapon before he looks up to see that it had been shot out of his hand. "what just…"

Athrun raises his gun and points it at the falling spear before he fired several more shots which launched the bullets to repeatedly hit the weapon's tip to make it spin several times while moving it far awya.

By the 8th shot, the spear was lodged far away from the gang members as they saw it all.

"I'm asking you again." Athrun said as he aimed his gun back at the gang leader. "let us pass and no one has to get hurt." He keened his eyes. "I have three more magazines holding 21 rounds each. By the time I use them all, I'm certain that you and the rest of your followers won't be left standing."

"Why you!" the gang leader growls angrily before he squeaks a bit when Athrun readied to pull the trigger on him. "tch!"

It took a minute of silence to let the tension in the air go before the gang leader commanded his subordinates to make a path and they did after another minute.

"Cagalli, stay close." Athrun told Cagalli as both begin to walk again but at a close distance with one another.

The gang group all glared and stared at the two as both walks pass them and went off.

"you better watch your back, pieces of shit!" the gang leader shouted. "we'll follow you guys all the way to the outskirts! The moment you let your guards down will be the moment you two be dead!"

"hurry." Athrun told Cagalli as they are now hustling off to get away from the gang and out of the Ghetto as fast as they can.

"I really don't want to face them again." Cagalli said and Athrun nodded.

"I know." Athrun said. "let's not camp tonight and just hustle our way to the settlement after getting things prepared to go in."

"alright." Cagalli nodded, the two hustles straight for the outskirt of the Ghetto and don't plan to look back even once.

Evening time at the Aikawa Ghetto, Yzak and Shiho are at the outskirts of the desolate town and near the borders of a Britannia settlement. Both currently residing on top of a building's rooftop as they have set camp while also setting a satellite radar which is hooked up to a pc.

Currently, Yzak is cutting and then attaching cables to the makeshift satellite radar which he plans to use to infiltrate the settlement's residential data.

"and then this…" Yzak went and inserted the last cable to its port then the satellite radar made a small buzzing sound. Afterwards he looks at Shiho who is checking on the PC. "how about now, Shiho?"

"accessing Britannia' survey system data on route 12." Shiho stated as she watches the screen showing numerous amounts of data that she is getting from the broadcasted signal that has intercepted the Britannia Government's residential system. "Bypassing firewall and directly accessing into residential data."

Shiho watches the data being downloaded and uploaded multiple times as she bypassed the encrypted firewall and access into the main system's drive.

"make sure to isolate our signal so that they can't find us once we've hacked into their systems." Yzak stated as he went and checks to see the data that Shiho is bypassing through. "also, we only have 30 minutes tops to hack into their data and make our fake identities. They will without a doubt check all their sub routes because of the hacking."

"yes, I understand." Shiho nodded as she keeps on checking all the data and bypassing all firewall protections. The female Coordinator doing all the basic routes in going through the protected data before she breaks through them all in a minute and managed to access herself into the residential system. "we're in."

"good." Yzak nodded as Shiho now accessed the Britannia residential data system then proceed to add in new registry data. "fill in yours first. Use any credentials you need and make sure that you fill in the parent or guardian to be deceased or none. We don't have anyone who can be put into that place."

"yes." Shiho nodded as she typed in all her forged identity's data, the brunette checking and then uploaded the data of her new identity as Millina Fawkes. She then glances at Yzak. "it's your turn now, Yzak-san."

"just make my name…" Yzak reaches a hand for the keyboard and types several keys to upload his new identity as Rusty Nicole. "and then…." He types several more keys and filled in all the needed data before pressing the enter button that uploaded the two new identities into the Britannia Residential system. "done."

"Rusty Nicole?" Shiho reads the name before she looks at Yzak. "this name is.."

"let's prepare ourselves to enter." Yzak stated as he went to the makeshift satellite radar. "once we're in the settlement, we go to any residential hotel or inn or anything that can accommodate us for a few days." He picks up the cables and detaches them from the satellites' port one by one. "afterwards, we need to access into the government's financial system to procure money for future needs. We need to do that as fast as possible." He then rolled the cables up before looking at the outskirt borders of the nearby settlement. "we won't be able to keep on trying to search for information by staying in hotels or inns, perhaps a public building would work."

"What do you have in mind?" Shiho asks.

"a school of some sort." Yzak stated as he looks at Shiho. "we might need to enroll ourselves as students to any good school to live up an identity persona of us being a part of the Britannia resident." He then went back to begin disassembly of the satellite radar. "we look like teenagers and people of our age are known to be rebellious. So it's best if we go deep with our fake lives in this world." He looks back at his comrade. "once we're in and we have settled in the settlement, we need to search up and list the candidates of the schools we will be enrolling ourselves in."

"yes. I understand." Shiho nodded before she looks at the created identities, the brunette pilot sighing a bit when she quickly understood why Yzak chose such a name and why he didn't let her finish speaking before.

'even if he is the strong forward type, he is always respectful to his comrades.' Shiho thought as Rusty Nicole takes the name of two former comrades who had died in the war of their world.

Shiho sighs again before she unplugs the data port of the satellite radar on the pc and then begins to prep things up for their travel to the settlement.

As the two were preparing, the door to the rooftop was suddenly broke open.

Yzak and Shiho looks at what had happened and they see a small gang of five Japanese men with weapons enter the rooftop.

"so these two are the Brits that have been going around our town, huh?" one of the gang members spoke while looking at Yzak and Shiho then their equipment. "seems to me that these guys are a bunch of Brit's military!" he then wields a machete from his back. "these guys must be trying to find all the gangs in the town! Look at that satellite thing the silver haired bimbo got near him!"

"bimbo?" Yzak growls angrily to be called such a word.

"hey, boss. What should we do with them?" one gang member asked the leader who is a burly man and has a long beard and tattoos. "should we kill the guy and then have fun with the girl?" he then made a disgusting glance at Shiho who quickly shivered to see his eyes. "that one looks very pretty even for a Brit."

"yeah, have at it." The gang boss grins. "but I get to have fun with the girl first."

The gang's members smirks or grins as they readied their choice of weapons from poles, metal bats, knives, machete, anything that can be used as a weapon in such a desolate place.

"wait! We aren't here to harm anyone! Therefore!" Shiho cried out before a loud gunshot is heard from nearby which surprised her.

"aggghh!" one of the gang member suddenly cried out in pain as he got shot with a bullet by Yzak who held his glock handgun.

"Who the fuck are you calling a bimbo, trash?" Yzak asks while glaring at the gang. "huh!?"

"tch! Kill the guy first!" the gang leader shouted in command to his members who charged straight at Yzak.

"RAAAH! DIE!" one gang member went in first as he wields a metal bat that he swings straight at Yzak who side stepped to dodge before he proceeds to slam a fist to the gang's throat with his left hand before using his right hand to grab the man's back then uses his right elbow to nudge hard to the stomach before pushing the thug down to the floor. "uughh!"

"you piece of shit!" another gang member came in while swinging his pole at Yzak who caught it without effort before he pulls it and then proceeds to knee the man right on the stomach. "aggh!" not having enough, the silver haired Coordinator grabs the thug's face then slams him right to the floor to be with his comrade. "aggh!"

Yzak huffs to see how easy it is to take down the two before he sees another gang member coming at him with a machete, the silver haired man being careful as he did several side steps to dodge some swings before he grabs and catches the man's arm then bends them to the back.

"agggh! Let me go!" the thug cried out in pain as Yzak just grips his arm to the point he let go of the machete and then did a clean break. "aggghh!"

"h-hey, Boss. This guy is strong!" one gang member told the leader who was looking afraid because of seeing how easy Yzak took down his subordinates. "we should run!"

"y-you think I want to run!? It's just one guy and a girl! We should be able to.." the gang leader shouted before Yzak came in while wielding the metal bat that he swings straight at the man who sees it coming. "wha?"

KA-POW!

The gang leader and his last subordinate fell to the ground with knocked out faces as Yzak threw the metal bat away and then proceeds to re-continue packing.

"Yzak-san…you just…" Shiho spoke out while looking at Yzak who just ignored her.

"Just focus on packing before more of them come crashing in unexpectedly." Yzak stated as he takes and pulls off the satellite's dish and then disconnects all the system's port one by one. "also, we need to let this stuff be burned so that no one can use it to do the same thing as we did or find our tracks."

Shiho looks at Yzak for a moment before she sighs as her comrade was very strict in following military rules and such.

"I guess we're really doing this infiltration mission." Shiho whispers before she continues to pack their belongings while ignoring the beaten up gang members who are groaning in pain on the floor.

Back in the JLF, Narita Base. Kira is found in a private guest room he was given by the JLF as he is currently reading books about the world's current history along with information regarding the Britannia Empire by a table. The young man reading every piece of info he can get his hands on as he needed to get a better understanding of his situation.

"just what is all of this?" Kira whispers as he reads every part of the history books and is just baffled with how the world's history isn't the same as what he knows. "What happened to the space colonies? George Glenn? The discovery of Evidence 1? Why isn't it all written here?".

With each piece of information that he is reading, the more he is becoming suspicious of his current situation.

"Is this…a different world?" Kira asks in a whisper as he looks at the book he is reading, the page showing a black and white photo of Britannia's 98th Emperor; Charles Zi Britannia who stood before a throne after conquering Japan.

As Kira was reading and pondering in his thoughts, a knock came from the door as he turns and sees the door being slide open by an adult with dark green hair, wears round glasses and has a distinctive scar down the right side of his face. His name is Asahina Shogo and just like with Nagisa and Urabe; he's a subordinate of Tohdoh and a member of the Four Holy Swords of the JLF.

"reading again tonight?" Asahina asks with a smile as he came while carrying a tray of Kira's dinner which was just a bowl of rice, grilled mackerel, Tamagoyaki slices, and miso soup. "you seem to be quite interested in the current welfare of Japan."

"yes." Kira nodded before he looks back at the book he is reading. "I'm sure this may sound weird, but this is a war that I have not heard of before and just learning about it now makes me…"

"feel negligent to not hear about it?" Asahina asks as he placed the tray besides Kira's table. "I get what you are saying, but let's try to keep a good sense of thinking and not start blaming on one self." He took and placed each dish to the table which Kira cleared of the books to make room for him to eat. "and besides. With you around, our efforts in taking back Japan is growing at a slow yet very steady pace." He then gets up while holding the tray. "I'll be back in 30 minutes to pick up the dishes. So try to take it slow and steady for the night. You did work hard today."

"yes." Kira nodded as Asahina leaves the room and left the young man to be with his meal.

Kira did a quick prayer of gratitude for the meal before he grabs his chopsticks and held up his bowl of rice then begins eating.

About ten minutes later, Kira finished the meal as he eats till it was cleaned without a single piece of leftover, except for the mackerel which was just bones.

Afterwards he continued to read more information about the current ongoing war between the JLF and Britannia government. Kira finds about the line of succession of the Britannia Empire as the current Emperor has at least 108 consorts along with dozens of children; each one taught to manage areas that their father's army had conquered.

"to try and conquer the world to be under his rule." Kira whispers while looking at the photo of Charles zi Britannia sitting upon a throne and facing many of his supporters and children. "what a terrifying hunger for power." He then closes the book before he looks to an old PC which he was provided for work purposes.

Kira looks at the PC for a moment before he picked it up and opens the monitor screen to check on a data program which is to emit a signal with a specific isolation program with a code only translatable to the Archangel, Kusanagi, and Eternal.

"I just hope that there are others with me in this world." Kira said as he watches the signal keeps on being emitted repeatedly.
