Time passed in the world as it's almost been three days.
Currently at the JLF's hideout at Narita Mountain, there is a dojo room which is used by the JLF members to train physically. The room is currently in use as we find Kira who is wearing a traditional Judogi and is flung into the air before getting slammed to the tatami mattresses by Urabe who wears the same outfit.
"I believe that is enough!" Tohdoh made an appearance as he along with the other Four Holy Swords are nearby and wearing Judogi outfits. "Urabe has won this match!"
"looks like you've got some training to do." Urabe said with a smile as he went and helped Kira get back up to his feet.
"I-I guess so.." Kira replied awkwardly while in pain.
After the bout between Kira and Katase's subordinates in the Knightmare battle, Kira is now seen as a great help for the JLF's cause because of his capability in supporting the organization's military power. Right now he is being given physical training as it was recommended by Tohdoh and Gen. Katase agreed.
"here I was hoping he was a quite trained fighter." Chiba said in a disappointed voice.
"Looks like he is more brains than brawns, huh?" Asahina said after sighing with a smile. "but you've got to admit that he almost had us at the ropes in some matches."
"Though he may seem to have a well built body, he is not that accustomed to physical fights." Senba stated. "with more proper training, he might be a force to be reckoned with."
Previously, everyone believed that Kira is a good fighter both in a knightmare and outside one, but after just two days of Judo training, they all found how the young man is not that good in hand to hand fights. They sparred with him a few times and they easily won yet but with each one; they find him getting smarter and stronger with the Judo.
"first you need to get a better stance." Tohdoh stated as he did a practical example of the right judo stance with Kira. "and then you must have a proper hold on your opponent before…" he grabbed Kira's judogi before proceeding to fling him over his shoulders and down to the tatami mat. "taking him down to the ground."
"y-yes…I get it…" Kira replied while in pain as he has been given this training all morning.
"let's try again." Tohdoh said as he adjusted his Judogi before looking at Chiba. "spar with him, Chiba."
"yes." Chiba replied before proceeding into the ring.
Kira got up as he looks a bit scared because out of all the Four Holy Swords, Chiba is the most fiercest in Judo.
"begin!" Tohdoh exclaimed as he begins the match.
Kira was hesitant at first as he was keeping his distance from Chiba who didn't do the same. The female holy sword member just went on the advance then grabs the young man's judogi before flinging him down to the tatami mat really hard.
"oohh…." Asahina winced with Senba.
"Did she had to do it that strong?" Urabe asks with an eye closed while his expression is wincing.
Tohdoh sighs as he sees that there is some improvements to Kira's technique but it's at a slow pace.
"perhaps with swordmanship instead…" Tohdoh thought out loud before a call was called out from him by the dojo's door that slides open for a random JLF member to enter. "what is it?"
"there's a call for you, Lieutenant Tohdoh." The JLF soldier replied. "it's from our sponsor of Kyoto."
"I see." Tohdoh nodded before he turns towards Chiba. "take a break and tend to Kira."
"yes." Chiba replied with a nod as Tohdoh then leaves the room.
At another room in the hidden JLF base, there's only PC and what not but there's one in particular that is active and is currently on a video call with another person somewhere else.
Tohdoh enters the room as he then sits in front of the PC and enters the video call which shows the face of a japanese old man who appears to be in his late 80s and what not.
"Tohdoh, good to see you in good health." The old man spoke as Tohdoh nodded.
"The same could be said for you too, Kirihara-dono." Tohdoh replied. "how do you fare?"
"I fare well even if the Britannians keep on casting their gaze down upon us." Kirihara replied. "but on another matter at hand, I suppose I should give you the news that the mass production of the Burai are well on their way and will be delivered to your base in due time."
"I see, thank you." Tohdoh nodded. "and what of the Revolving Blade Swords? Have you completed their mass production?"
"not yet." Kirihara replied while shaking his head before having a slightly stern-ish scowl on his face. "as expected, making them is as challenging as producing them. I hope that the one we've sent to yours wasn't challenging."
"it wasn't considering that it has been completed." Tohdoh replied.
"what? it is?" Kirihara asks surprised. "you've managed to complete the Revolving Blade Sword on your own?"
"not on our own, we've had some help with a new recruit of ours." Tohdoh replied with a smile. "a young man who goes by the name of Kira Yamato."
"Kira…Yamato?" Kirihara spoke out and Tohdoh nodded before the soldier tells the old man everything he knows about the young man minus some minor details.
It took Tohdoh 7-10 minutes to completely tell everything that he knows about Kira to Kirihara, it took longer because of some questions that the old man had in return.
"hohoho! It brings joys to these old ears of mine to hear that a youth of Japan is helping our cause!" Kirihara chuckles with a smile. "to know that our efforts are still inspiring to our people. The freedom of Japan could be in a distance's reach thanks to this young man."
"indeed." Tohdoh nodded. "that young man has seen the ugly side of war and is very strong against all conflicts. Even if those conflicts are all upon his bloodline and whatnot."
"bah! To discriminate one because he only half the blood of Japanese doesn't mean right!" Kirihara scoffed. "to see that there's one who is willing to help regardless of being a Hafu, it is nothing more than an appreciated helping hand! Let the blind fools be fools!"
"appreciate your words, Kirihara-dono. I'll be sure to send them to Kira." Tohdoh nodded with a smile before he went silent for a moment and scowled a bit. "for Freedom of Japan is it?"
"what is wrong, Tohdoh?" Kirihara asks seeing the scowl. "something on your mind?"
"I was thinking on what the future might hold for Kira if Japan has been liberated." Tohdoh said. "it is appreciated of his efforts in achieving our goal, but I fear the worse would come to him if his blood heritage is known by others."
"I see, I understand." Kirihara nodded. "There's been factions about true Japanese who have pure blood and they discriminate those who are Hafu. I fear that if Japan is liberated, they might try to rise in power and be rid of any who is only half Japanese." He sighs before shaking his head. "no, I wouldn't allow it. You do not need pure blood to be a Japanese, only one who would sacrifice and put in effort for the nation can be called a Japanese. The fools these days are all forming terrorist like gangs or intaking Refrain and ruining their lives. This is what makes that young man a true Japanese and no hafu."
"I see.." Tohdoh nodded with a smile. "on another note, please do send more of your Burai Kai units as I know that Kira would have a better chance in upgrading them than your workers."
"I'll be sure to send them." Kirihara nodded. "if this young man is a master of technology as you say, then I have no fear sending more Knightmares your way."
"then what of this Guren that I have been hearing about?" Tohdoh asks. "I've heard that the scientists you've recruited is currently working on a true Japanese Knightmare unit; the Guren. Would you also send it here for Kira to work on?"
"I'm afraid that is not possible." Kirihara replied while shaking his head. "the Guren is still in the works and therefore cannot leave the factory. Also its creator is quite prideful and wouldn't like anyone to tinker with her creation. That's all."
"I see…" Tohdoh spoke, him understanding that the named Guren Unit can't be given to them yet. "I understand."
"I believe that is all I have come to converse you with, Tohdoh." Kirihara stated. "a solemn advice from myself, if this young man continues to make great efforts for the liberation of Japan, I shall have a conversation with the entire House of Kyoto and make more efforts in increasing more support for the JLF. Only then will you have our entire support."
"yes, thank you very much, Kirihara-dono." Tohdoh said nodding as Kirihara nodded back before turning off the video call.
As the call now have ended, Tohdoh is left in the room alone in silence.
"seems that Kirihara-dono holds some suspicions upon Kira." Tohdoh spoke as he could see in the old man's eyes that he doesn't have full trust upon Kira. "I cannot blame him considering how he first arrive to our location and all." He cups his chin and began to think. "perhaps it would be best to get him to continue giving more efforts for our cause than before."
Afterwards, Tohdoh leaves the room as he heads straight back for the Dojo.
Meanwhile at the Tokyo Settlement, Athrun and Cagalli are found to be at the streets and walking amongst the crowd. The two wearing regular outfits to blend in, but they are wearing sunglasses on.
Athrun and Cagalli keeps on walking before they made a quick turn at a corner and into an alley where there's nothing but trash cans, and everything that is considered unhygienic.
"This is the right place.." Cagalli said as she takes off her glasses and checks the inside of the alley. "right?"
"let's keep on moving, Cagalli." Athrun said before he goes deeper into the alley. "the guy's store is just in the corner of the alley."
"yeah, right…" Cagalli replied, grossed out when she saw a dead rat near a trash can before she went and followed after Athrun.
The two had been staying around in the settlement as they are currently working on getting all the necessary equipment for their infiltration spy life in the Tokyo Settlement. Right now, they are going to meet a black market dealer who they are in contact with. Both wanted more equipment and more information about a planned little endeavor of theirs.
Athrun and Cagalli got deeper into the alley and found a corner turn that is quite hidden because of the darkness of the environment. The two looks into the corner and find a single heavily reinforced metal door with an electric lamp switched on.
"there it is." Athrun said before he and Cagalli went to the door and knocks it a few times. The two waited for a reply as a rectangular peephole slides open for a pair of gruff eyes to look at them both.
"Password?" the person behind the door asks and Athrun takes out a piece of paper that he showed to the man. There are words written on it as they are 'Mort Par Arme'. Reading the written words, the peephole slides close and several clicking and clocking noises are heard from behind the door which soon opens for a large gruff man to come out and made way for the two. "come in."
Athrun and Cagalli nodded before they entered the facility as the door was then closed by the gruff man.
Within a hidden facility, it is a complete room filled with items of all kind. From clothing to weapons and even parts of a Knightmare.
Athrun and Cagalli walks upon a path as they were escorted by the gruff man who takes them to meet someone who sat behind a lavish wooden office table and is currently smoking a cigar.
"You've come on time, dear customers." A voice spoke from the person behind the office table, the person turned to reveal that he is a dark skinned man with greyish eyes that is hidden under a pair of sunglasses, he has long braided brown hair and wears a very expensive looking grey and white suit. "I like people who keep their promises and are on time."
"and I'm certain that you dislike those who don't?" Athrun replied and this made the dark skinned man chuckle.
"indeed." The man said before waving out a hand to the side. "for a proper introduction, my name is Gregory Amore. Welcome to Amore Supplies; here we supply what you demand at a very fair price." He then snaps his fingers for two maids who are Japanese to come and place seats for Athrun and Cagalli. "Please have a seat as we discuss business. If you would like a drink, just ask and my maids will serve it."
"No drinks are required." Athrun stated as he takes off his glasses and then takes a seat with Cagalli doing the same. "and we are only here to do shopping."
"ho? Shopping, is it?" Gregory asks while pulling his sunglasses down a bit. He then glances at Cagalli. "is this shopping for the fair lady here?" his eyes looks back at Athrun. "or is it for yourself?"
"For us both." Athrun replied before taking out a piece of paper that he place to the table and slides to Gregory who takes it. "here's our shopping list."
"hmm. I see. A pair of handguns, the newest brand of PCs,…" Gregory reads the list before he made a noise when his eyes spotted something that interests him. "hmm, this is quite the interesting list, dear customer." He looks at Athrun while taking off his sunglasses. "is it to do something….Terrorist in nature?"
"not quite." Athrun replied. "the nature of why we need those items aren't your concern." His eyes then squinted a bit. "or is it your store's policy to pry into your customer's wish list for personal concerns?"
Gregory looks at Athrun for a moment before he chuckles and laughs a bit.
"my my! We have quite the brave and bold customer here!" Gregory laughs with a big grin. "you must have a pair of the most strongest and hardest brass balls, dear sir! Not many would call and go to my humble abode and be this brave!" he chuckles before handing the list to the gruff man who leaves the area. "My subordinates will get the items of your shopping list in due time." The man then puts on his sunglasses. "although, I must warn you that their price is quite high because of the taxes in our high end services."
"I believe so." Athrun replied before he reaches into his pocket and takes out a platinum bank card. "but for this shopping of ours, the price is of no concern." He place the card to the table and lets Gregory take it; the man whistling to see the item. "you can add more to the price if your store does express and discreet delivery to an address of ours."
"but of course! Only the best for our dear customers!" Gregory cackles before he takes out an electronic device which he swipes the platinum card upon the bottom. This made a screen lit up and shows the amount of 9.5 million credits to be transferred to a private account. He then returns the card to Athrun. "Pleasure doing business with you, dear customer~."
"We expect all the items we purchased to come to this location at night on 19.30 PM." Athrun said while taking out a flash drive that he hands to Gregory. "do not be early or late in the delivery, is that clear?"
"yes, very clear." Gregory grins. "we hope for you to come back and do more shopping after all."
Athrun nods before he and Cagalli gets off their seats and begins to leave with the gruff man who came back to escort them out.
"we'll throw in a special service for your delivery! Think of it as a first purchase present, dear customer~!" Gregory hollered out as Athrun and Cagalli leaves.
sometime later, Athrun and Cagalli are found walking out into the streets once again as both headed down road.
"you really got the hang of talking to brokers and stuff, huh?" Cagalli said with a glance to Athrun. "that guy was creepy as hell and you talked to him like you're old friends with him."
"You taught me your best, remember?" Athrun replied while putting his sunglasses back on. " and besides, it's easy to negotiate with a man who values trust and money."
"I see.." Cagalli nodded before she looks to the front while putting her own sunglass back on. "so? What now? Should we go back to the apartment?"
"no, we need to go to a car dealers' shop." Athrun said before checking the time on his wristwatch and then coming near the edge of the road to wave a hand to a taxi that came. "we get a car and then we head back to the apartment for final preparations." He opened the back door and lets Cagalli go in. "till then, keep on going as we talked."
"alright." Cagalli nodded as Athrun enters the taxi before the vehicle drives off.
Hours later, at 19.30 PM and in a hidden and discreet location which is an alley that is about a few kilometers away from a military base, Athrun and Cagalli are found in the area as they head into the alley where they find a man wearing all black clothes and seeming to be discreet considering that his face couldn't be seen because of a scarf and sunglasses that he is wearing.
"On time as expected." Athrun said as he and Cagalli meets with the man. "Gregory Amore really does keep his words."
"here are your requested items." The all black man stated while waving a hand to the side as he revealed a wooden crate that is hidden behind some trash cans and is covered under a blue tarp. "we hope for your next purchase at Amore Supplies in the future."
"you can hope so." Athrun nodded as the delivery man began to leave but was stopped. "but before you go, give this to your boss." The young man takes out a flashdrive and a phone which he hands to the man who takes it. "tell your boss that we'll be contacting him for another purchase in the future and we want a private line with him when we do. We'll even pay for being first in line on the shopping if he wants."
"understood." The delivery man replied as he pocketed the items and leaves while bowing his head.
Athrun nodded and watches the man leave before he turns to Cagalli who has already taken off the tarp and began to open the crate that is filled with Standard Britannian Military outfits, hand guns, ID tags, and various more items.
"here is yours, Athrun." Cagalli said as she picks up a military helmet which she gives to Athrun to take. She then picks up hers and checks it out. "the guy actually made sure to follow the shopping list to the point, huh?" she puts it on and sees how it fits her perfectly. "forgot the last time someone managed to get my size right."
"is that so?" Athrun said before he takes off his shirt to reveal his undershirt. "come on. Let's get changed and get ready. We only have a limited time, remember?"
"I know." Cagalli said as she takes off her helmet and then begins to take off her shirt but stopped midway to send a blushing glare at Athrun. "don't peek, got it?"
"just do it at the corner." Athrun told Cagalli after sighing.
If anyone could realize it, Athrun and Cagalli have a plan to infiltrate the nearby Britannian Military base as they had plan that requires military equipment which they couldn't actually get at any other place. Which is why they went to Gregory to get the necessary equipment that they needed to infiltrate the base.
After a minute or two, Athrun and Cagalli have already saddled up their military gear on and now holstered two military grade hand guns which they stored to their back.
"let's get going." Athrun said as he puts on his helmet and puts on the mask.
"Right…" Cagalli replied, already doing the same.
Afterwards, they went deeper into the alley and got near a sewer cover which they takes off to reveal an under path of the sewers.
At the Britannian military base, there are heavily armed soldiers, military cars, and Knightmares going around as this place is heavily armed and defended by any possible threat.
Soldiers walked around near a building as they went by and missed Athrun and Cagalli who made an appearance. The two hides by the corner of the building as they watched the soldiers going away.
"coast is clear." Athrun said as he and Cagalli began to move from their current position.
"Tell me again on why we couldn't just find another way to get inside here instead of going down the sewers?" Cagalli asks a bit irritated. "I swear that the stench is stuck to these suits."
"don't complain." Athrun retorted as he and Cagalli goes to a corner and checks the area to see that it is heavily populated by soldiers. "as much as we could've afforded parachutes and whatnot, we couldn't just think that we could get here by flying. What if they have anti air missiles or anti air rifles?"
"what we're getting better be worth all this troubling stink." Cagalli said after groaning in annoyance.
The two continued their infiltration as they keep themselves out of anyone's attention by just walking and also saluting to any high ranked officers that they would meet or encounter by accident.
After 5 minutes, Athrun and Cagalli are walking in a building's computer room as they were just walking by and passing any of the staff members. The two going near a room filled with computers and people who are working on programming and data on knightmares.
"This is the place." Athrun said as he takes out a phone and checks a 3D map that is showing a blinking red dot. "the info says that all of the military base's layout is here."
"then what we are waiting for?" Cagalli asks. "let's go and check things out."
"wait, Cagalli." Athrun replied before he looks around and sees security cameras. "we can't do anything with there being security cameras." He then takes out a device that looks like a phone but it only has a green and red button. "let me disturb their systems first."
Athrun presses the green button as this made the phone device's screen turn green and cause all security cameras in the facility to flicker for a second of a moment, yet this leads to there being images that are looped. This was so effective that the staff in the CCTV room didn't realize or notice a single miss.
"There." Athrun said as he pocketed the device. "We have about 10 minutes before the disturber turns off." He then begins to walk inside the computer room with Cagalli, both not being noticed that much by the people considering that there are soldiers around the area too.
"Where do we start?" Cagalli asks before quickly shutting herself up when two soldiers in the room approached them. "Crap!"
"are you two the next shift?" the two soldiers asks Athrun and Cagalli as both quickly saluted.
"yes, we are." Athrun replied. "we are here for the change of shift, thank you for your hard work today."
"yeah, thanks." The two soldiers nodded before one of them gives a security card to Cagalli. "here, don't lose the security key card, alright?"
Cagalli merely nodded her head hesitantly, the blonde not talking because her voice could give her away.
"What's wrong with you? Not saying a single thanks and whatnot." The soldier asks Cagalli. "you not feeling good?"
"Forgive him, Sir. He's currently under the weather and his throat is sore." Athrun spoke on Cagalli's behalf. "this is his last shift for the night, so he could take a break tomorrow."
"y-yes.." Cagalli said in a voice that she made sound gruff and hoarse as possible before coughing. "forgive me for not taking care of myself, sir."
"I see…" the two soldiers looks at the two before to each other and then back at the two. "alright then, remember to keep your body in check and we'll see you after you recover, alright?"
"yes, thank you very much." Athrun and Cagalli saluted again as they see the two officers out of the room.
After they were gone, Athrun and Cagalli let out a long sigh as they were glad that they managed to trick the two soldiers.
"next time, you can go here alone, Athrun." Cagalli said and Athrun nodded, thinking that it is the best for her to not join another infiltration mission.
Now with not much obstacles left, Athrun and Cagalli decided to snoop around the room as the navy haired teen would go to an unattended computer which he begins to use as a medium for hacking. He inserted a flash drive to the drive port and then turns the device on. He did his hacking work quick as he got all the information in the computer to be wirelessly transferred to his personally customized PC back at the inn.
The work only lasted for 2 minutes as Athrun takes the flashdrive out and then pocketed it. He then went to Cagalli who he nodded to before they began to go straight for the door from where they meet two soldiers again.
"we are here for the changes of shift, sir." The two soldiers saluted to Athrun and Cagalli. "our apologies for being late. My partner was under the weather for the moment, but we're here for our shift as scheduled."
'what are the odds?' Athrun and Cagalli thought in unison before both saluted to the two soldiers.
"thank you for your commitment, soldier." Athrun said while Cagalli hands the security card to one of the two soldiers. "keep a tight guard in the facility and ensure that no non authorized personnel are stopped from entering the area, understood?"
"yes sir!" the two soldiers replied while nodding before they saluted again to Athrun and Cagalli. "thank you for your hard work tonight, sir!"
Athrun and Cagalli leaves the facility as they got very luck to have met the next shift personnel while on their way out.
"really? Ensure that no non authorized personnel are stopped from entering the area?" Cagalli asks.
"just stay quiet, Cagalli." Athrun replied.
Now outside of the building. Athrun and Cagalli are venturing around the military base while reading the map that they got.
"hey, are we there yet?" Cagalli asks Athrun who has the map on his phone. The blonde looking side to side and sees that they are walking in a heavily populated area filled with soldiers. "I don't like how there's so many people at a place which is supposed to only have weapons and such."
"I know, we just got to keep on following this path to Hangar 10." Athrun replied "That's where our objective is."
The two keeps on walking as they were about to make a turn but quickly stopped because they nearly bumped into two people coming from the other side.
"wha!?" a quick surprised cry is heard as Athrun and Cagalli are faced with a silver-ish grey haired man with glasses and wears a white coat who is accompanied with a blue haired woman who wears the standard brownish military uniform. The cry coming from the woman who is carrying some papers. "i-I'm sorry! I wasn't looking!"
"n-no, it's our apology, Ma'am!" Athrun said before he and Cagalli quickly saluted. "we were in a hurry and didn't try to be more slower when making the turn!"
"hmm, I guess we were both at fault considering that me and Cecile-kun here were busy discussing stuff." The silver haired man replied while adjusting his glasses. "which unit are you from? And why are you in a hurry?"
"from the 7th division!" Athrun replied. "we are currently tasked to head to hangar 4 for a direct message delivery to an operator stationed there!"
"hmm, it must be about the Sutherland units' operation standard program." The man said before smiling. "best be off before you get offed by the head engineer there."
"yes! Excuse us!" Athrun replied before he and Cagalli quickly goes pass the two and heads off.
As they keep on running off to the distance, the two sighed in relief as they managed to get pass some people who might've found out about their identities.
"That was too close." Cagalli said.
"yeah, I know." Athrun replied. "it's a good thing I've hacked into the military base's schedule and memorized it."
"yeah, and you should've memorized the people's name too." Cagalli said while taking a quick look back and then back forward. "something tells me that those two are a part of some military science stuff."
"what makes you say that?" Athrun asks.
"I don't know." Cagalli shrugs her shoulders. "the guy with glasses just gives off the mad scientist's vibe."
In a second, a sneeze is heard from the silver-ish grey haired man who sniffles his nose before being given a tissue by Cecile.
A few minutes later, at a hangar with the number 10 painted on the front, Athrun and Cagalli comes by as they had checked the systems of the military base and found what they were looking stored in the hangar.
"This is number 10 alright." Cagalli said checking the surroundings before to Athrun who went to metal door and is currently hacking an access into the security panel by using cables and a phone. "think you can hack into it, Athrun?"
Athrun presses a button and the security panel flashes a green light on its screen before the lock on the door was turned off.
"need to ask anymore?" Athrun asks as he pulls the door open and let Cagalli go in first before he followed, but only after doing a quick side to side check of the surroundings.
Now inside the hangar, Athrun and Cagalli walks in while using flashlights to see their surroundings as they find it to be filled with computers, military equipment, tools, and etc.
"so? Where's this Knightmare thing placed at?" Cagalli asks, the two plans to take a Knightmare unit as that is their goal for the infiltration mission. "and how many are there?"
"There's only one here." Athrun said as he checks his phone which contains the data of the hangar that they are in, the man seeing the list of items stored inside and finds the data of a Knightmare unit named Z-01b Lancelot Club. He then turns and pointed at a base where there is something large hidden under a large piece of grey tarp. "and it is placed there."
Athrun and Cagalli went to the base as the blonde grabs hold of the fabric before pulling it down and this unveils a 4.51 meters humanoid robot that is in white and blue with the noticeable feature being a single long horn on the head that made it look like a Rhinoceros beetle.
"huh, it looks like our world's mobile suit, but smaller." Cagalli commented as she takes off her helmet to get a better look at the robot. Athrun however went to a control console that he activated to access the system for information regarding the Knightmare unit. "I wonder why this hangar has this thing not guarded at all? If its something military grade, it should be guarded."
"I think this is why." Athrun spoke out as Cagalli turns and went near him to check out what he was seeing on the control console. "The unit was built using spare parts from the originally created unit yet using the base of another different unit during production. The application of its power cell or Sakuradite was limited due to a shortage of budget. Basically saying that this unit was underdeveloped and which leads to it being a failed and abandoned project."
"something tells me that the engineers or scientists or whoever made this thing was too into on the idea of making it without considering the budget and all." Cagalli said, not knowing her words causing someone in the military base to sneeze once again. "like seriously, who doesn't pay attention to the budget of making something?"
"matters of that aside, I think it'd be best if we take it since it's a failed experiment and all. Even if it's considered a failure, it's still a high performance machine. We need the edge against a numerical army." Athrun said as he began to access the system and proceeded to move the base of the Knightmare to make it face upwards in a horizontal fashion. "I'll get things loaded up for transport." He then takes out a flash drive that he inserted to a drive port before looking at Cagalli. "Think you can keep a look out while I get a vehicle for transport?"
"I can." Cagalli nodded and Athrun nodded back before leaving the hangar.
About 30 minutes later, a large trailer truck moves on the road of the military base as it went for a right turn and heads straight for the main entrance.
Athrun and Cagalli are in the trailer's driver and side passenger's seats as the two had just loaded up the Lancelot Club along with the Knightmare's weapons and spare parts. The vehicle is now currently going to the exit checkpoint where there are soldiers waiting by.
"Hope this works, Athrun." Cagalli said while putting her helmet back on.
"it will work." Athrun replied as he drove the trailer and stopped it by the checkpoint before pulling down the window to meet with the security soldiers. "good evening, sir." He then takes out a piece of paper with written information about a transfer of items to the man. "we have orders to transport Items from the 10th Hangar to a private military division."
The security soldier takes the paper and reads it before confirming with someone on the radio, this someone being a recorded and quantized voice which was done with a bug made by Athrun himself.
"Roger." The security soldier said before handing the paper back to Athrun. "you're good to go." He then signals the worker by the office nearby to press a button and the guard pole slides to the side which allows the trailer to move out.
Athrun and Cagalli watches as they drove upon the road and heads out, both leaving the military base by a few short miles in two minutes before they left the area completely and they sighed in relief.
"This has been one heck of a night." Cagalli said as she was very much relieved to finish their mission without any trouble. "I held my breath hard when he was going to get a reply to that call of his." She sighs again before taking off her helmet then looks at Athrun. "you could've told me about that bug on the call, ya know?"
"it was a quick make in the haste." Athrun said as he looks at Cagalli while taking a part of his helmet to drop the mask. "I forgot to tell you once I had made it." He then looks back to the road. "besides, we haven't got the time because of how busy we've been."
"yeah…" Cagalli said before she looks to the road. "I guess so." She sighs and glances back at Athrun. "what now? To that base of ours or what?"
"first, let's get this stuff to that storage room we've rented." Athrun said before he takes out his phone and began to make a speed dial phone call. "and then we need to make a call to Gregory for a quick buy."
"hah~. More on that, huh?" Cagalli said as she sighs. "just make sure that you don't do anything that'll make him do anything like back stabbing us."
"I got it." Athrun said while placing the phone near his ear and focuses his eyes on the road.
The trailer droves off into the road and left straight out of the metropolitan area.
On the next morning, at the Tokyo Metropolitan Area and upon a large school facility called the Ashford Academy. There are students going around here and there as they all were chatting, doing club activities, or spending the peaceful time with anything that they want to do.
At a dorm located upon the school ground and in one of the many rooms; we find one thin yet tall male student with black hair and violet eyes, who is just waking up from his sleep on his bed. The young teen getting up and yawns while scratching the back of his head a bit.
"already morning, is it?" he said as he goes near the window and sees the morning scene outside.
This young teen's name is Lelouch Lamperouge, a Britannian student of the Ashford Academy, or it may seem to be as he wishes it. His real name is Lelouch Vi Britannia and a few years ago, he was the eleventh prince of the Britannian Kingdom yet he is currently found to be a student and no longer a prince.
"better get ready for school." Lelouch said before he proceeded to go right for the bathroom.
Today is a normal day for the young man as he does a routine schedule that he keeps repeating. First is to wake up early and then takes a warm showering bath which lasted only ten minutes, afterwards he heads for the dormitory's personal kitchen where he began to cook breakfast for him and another occupant of the dorm.
Lelouch is currently frying bacons, eggs, and sausages on the pan above the high heated stove, the young man gently shaking the cooking utensil back and forth before using a spatula to flip and turn the food a few times to get them all evenly cooked.
"Good Morning, Onii-sama." A voice called out to Lelouch who turns and smiles as a young girl with long light brown hair, a petite form, and wears a white overall gown. The petite girl has her eyes closed and is sitting on a wheel chair that is being pushed with the help of a maid. Her name is Nunnally Lamperouge; Lelouch's younger sister. "Are you frying bacon today?"
"along with eggs, and sausages." Lelouch added in before he hears a ding and turns to see that a toaster ejected perfectly toasted bread slices. "and bread and also warm honey tea." He then returns to cooking. "go and wait by the dining table. I'll have them finish in a minute, alright?"
"yes, okay." Nunnaly nodded with a smile before looking back. "let's go, Sayoko-san."
"yes, Nunnally-san." The maid named Sayoko replied before she begins to turn and push the wheelchair out of the kitchen.
Lelouch continues to cook, the young man being a student and a big brother to Nunnaly who is blind and paraplegics. He has been taking care of her with the help of a hired maid and all his life he has done nothing but making sure that his sister gets the best care she could ever have.
After a minute, Lelouch came into the dining room as he brought three plates of the breakfast he had cooked.
"here you go, Nunnally." Lelouch places a plate on the table in front of his sister before placing another on the side. "and Sayoko-san too."
"thank you, Lelouch-sama." Sayoko nodded in gratitude.
Lelouch nodded back before he place his plate down and sits with the others.
"now, let's eat." Lelouch said with a smile before they all begin to eat together.
It's a normal life for Lelouch, but in this normal life; this young man has a plan to do something for the future and that is to create a peaceful world for his little sister.
Sometime later, Lelouch is found walking in the hallway of the school, the young man wearing the standard male school uniform as he is heading for his morning class.
"standard time for the usual curriculum with one opening by 9." Lelouch muttered as he keeps on walking while ignoring the giddy talk from nearby girls who are fans of his; the young man being popular and handsome in their eyes. "Nunnally said that she wanted a new braille book, I should be able to get that one for her at that time."
Lelouch walks in the hallway before he came to his classroom which is already filled with some students.
"hey, Lelouch!" a teen of the same age as the young man, who wears the same school uniform and has short blue hair with bangs protruding to the sides. This young man is Rivalz Cardemonde and a good friend of Lelouch. "early today, huh?"
"I managed to get up early after a good night's rest." Lelouch replied as he and Rivalz went to the young man's seat. "that's obvious."
"here I though you were going to be late because of some planning." Rivalz said before grinning. "well? What you think of my plan to gamble against a noble I told you before?"
"it's interesting and the chances of winning is quite high if we play it right." Lelouch said as he smirks a bit. "how about we visit that noble in three weeks? I need to make proper planning after all."
"good with me~!" Rivalz grins with a thumbs up. "just remember to share my promised 44% cut, okay~?"
"yes, yes." Lelouch replied before a teen girl with long orange-ish hair and wears the female school uniform had come in. "huh? What is it, Shirley?"
"really, Lulu? What is it? That's what you are asking me?" the girl now revealed to be named as Shirley asks while looking down at Lelouch and Rivalz with disapproving faces. "I heard it! You guys are planning to go out on gambling again! That's just bad!"
"oh come on, Shirley. It ain't that bad." Rivalz replied while waving his hands up. "it's not gambling if the other side keeps their promises to pay up and everything."
"it is gambling and it is gambling!" Shirley said while holding up a hand with a finger pointed out. The girl began to lecture the two. "when will you get it in your hard heads that gambling is wrong! You can't just gamble and then somehow get into debt!"
As Shirley continues to lecture the two, Lelouch began to unpack the inside of his school bag while Rivalz gets the full blow of the lecture.
"have you guys heard?" Lelouch interjected in Shirley's lecture which got stopped. "the President told us that we got transfers coming into the school today, right?"
"ah, now that you mention it." Rivalz said as he looks up. "there's going to be two new students coming into the school and they're going into our class too."
"eh? I thought it was going to be the other class and not ours?" Shirley asks.
The two started to converse about the two new transfer students while Lelouch stays out of it, the young man just taking out a small note book which he begins to read.
As the time goes on, the school building's bell began to rang which indicate that the first session of their class is beginning. All the students who were about doing their club activities, loitering around in the garden or hallway and just lazing around all goes to their separate classrooms.
A while later, everyone was situated at their classrooms and they all sat upon their designated seats.
"good morning, everyone." The homeroom teacher entered and greeted everyone. "before we begin today's class, I would like to announce that our class will be having two new classmates who have transferred to our school."
The students in the class murmured and chattered to one another to hear about the news that was shared.
"alright, everyone. Let's all be calm and polite to welcome them to our school." The homeroom teacher spoke out before motioning a hand to the door which was opened for Yzak and Shiho to come in making an appearance. The two wearing the standard Ashford Academy's school uniform while carrying their school bag in hand. "please welcome. Mr. Rusty Nicole and Miss. Millina Fawkes. They had transferred here from the homeland. Welcome them well, everyone."
"Greetings, I'm Millina Fawkes." Shiho greeted with her fake name before bowing her head and then smiles cheerfully. "it's nice to meet you all."
Her greeting got all the active boys in the classroom to whistle and cat calls, them being happy to get a girl transferred in their class.
"kuuuh~! What a bliss to see a new beauty in the class~!" Rivalz commented all happy.
As this little commotion goes on, Yzak made an annoyed growl and sneered at them.
"shut up, you're noisy." Yzak said with a growl and a sneering glare. "if you lot got time to do stupid stuff like cat calls, use it for studying, damnit."
His words instantly made everyone shut up because his sneering glare was somewhat effective in silencing the commotion.
"Rusty-san." Shiho whispers to Yzak while motioning him to do his introduction greeting which made him sigh.
"Rusty Nicole, pleasure." Yzak said in a gruff voice as this somehow made the silence continue in the room.
"u-um…please have a seat." The homeroom teacher spoke out. "We'll begin class."
Yzak and Shiho nodded to the teacher before they went off and get to the empty seats that are available for them to take. The former choosing to be at the back which is partially empty while the latter chooses to sit near the quite crowded area which instantly got her to be greeted by other students.
'a lone wolf and a social one, is it?' Lelouch looks at Yzak and then at Shiho who is being greeted by Shirley and other girls. 'quite the unique pair that has transferred here.'
"alright everyone, let's begin homeroom." The teacher called out while holding up a book about history. "turn your history books to page 45 as we will be discussing the history of the late Emperor Harington the III who had helped in the unity of the Holy Britannian Empire."
The class begins as Yzak and Shiho joins the students in the class as they brought out their history books and began to study.
Time soon passes as about two hours later, the school bell rings which indicated the start of recess.
Yzak placed his things aside as he walks out of the classroom while taking a quick peek at Shiho who is being surrounded by classmates who are bombarding her with questions.
"hey, Millina-san! From which region of the homeland are you from!?" "what's your relation with Rusty-san?!" "are you two dating!?" "hey, which club are you planning to join?!" all questions regarding from where she was, what she liked, and everything else was asks as Shiho got a bit overwhelmed yet she remained calm and answered as best as she could.
Yzak sees how she is doing before he goes out of the classroom and heads out.
No one paid attention to the man leaving, no one but Lelouch.
'I'm starting to wonder if he is the son of a noble or something else.' Lelouch thought with a sceptic look on his face. 'his demeanor somehow just screams out that he's no ordinary person because of his scar.' His expression chances to a little surprise when Shirley came to him and asks him to come along in meeting Shiho. 'well, I can think of that later after getting to know the two over some time.'
Meanwhile at the JLF base, Kira is found in the underground hangar as he is working on the Burai Units which he is upgrading and modifying for each pilot's usage. The young man wearing a mechanic's outfit on as he is going head on in fixing the unit's front frame.
Kira is holding a monkey wrench which he uses to turn a big bolt in the machine's frame a few times before he pulled away and sighs before turning to look at the pilot cockpit block which has Asahina on board.
"please try it now, Asahina-san." Kira said and Asahina did a head nod before proceeding to activate the Knightmare unit.
The Burai's systems activated and its eyes flashes green, the unit activating perfectly without any problem.
"looks like this one is done." Asahina said before proceeding to do a thumb up for Kira who nodded and did thumbs up in return, the young man now closing the frame.
After the work was over, Kira now gets a break as he cleans himself up and eats a bowl of ramen that Senba brought for him and Asahina to eat.
"50 units done, and another 50 to go." Asahina said before he proceeded to slurp some noodles which he chewed and swallowed before he turns and smiles to Kira. "got to hand it to you, Kira. You really are a miracle worker with machines."
"thank you." Kira said after swallowing some chewed noodles, he then looks at the Burai Units as a few are being moved out of the hangar. "still, there's a lot of improvements needed to be done for them all. Weaponry, movement, and computer processing. There's a lot that is needed to be done for the units to be perfectly capable of combat."
"true." Senba nodded while crossing his arms. "though the work is nearly completed, we cannot be lenient for improvement."
"that sounds like something Gen. Katase would say." Asahina said after chuckling while Kira continues to eat his ramen in the background and then drink up all the soup.
"I believe that would be a correct statement." Gen. Katase suddenly appeared onto the scene as he comes walking to them. "with young Kira's help, our forces can learn to adapt to their new blades that will help cut through the obstacles standing before them."
"Gen. Katase! Tohdoh-san!" Asahina quickly puts his ramen bowl to the top of a tool box before he and Senba quickly saluted to them. "apologies for misbehavior!"
"it's fine." Gen. Katase replied before he comes near and then looks at one Burai unit that is walking pass them. "to see that there is a glimmer of light that is shining upon out darkest days. It's nothing more to be accepted as hope." He smiles and turns to look at Kira. "we have you to thank for, Young Kira."
"it's nothing, Gen. Katase." Kira replied. "you've allowed me to stay here and cared for me, it's the least I could do to repay you all."
"it's nothing of the least considering how you've given us an edge against Britannian forces." Gen. Katase said with a smile before he patted Kira's shoulder. "it is us who must give you gratitude." He then thought of something which made him smile even more. "that's right. Considering that we are talking of gratitude, there's something I would like to ask of you to do."
"what is it?" Kira asks while raising an eyebrow.
"after some consideration, I will permit and give you freedom to roam around the land with the accompany of Tohdoh and the Four Holy swords." Gen. Katase replied while folding his hands behind his back. "you've helped upgrade our defensive weaponry and provided with excellent defensive formation, I hereby allow more freedom for you in and out of the base."
"guess you're now getting your wish of getting to know the environment of Japan even more, huh?" Asahina said with a smile and Kira nodded back with a smile before he faces Gen. Katase and bowed his head.
"thank you very much, Gen. Katase." Kira said and Katase nodded.
"well, I'll be leaving you all be here." Katase said before he begins walking away. "after you have done your work on the Burai Units, you may go outside tomorrow."
"yes." Kira nodded and Katase leaves the hangar.
"with the freedom, I guess we can take you to spots of the Ghetto nearby." Asahina said as he cups his chin and scratches it a bit. "Shinjuku, Kyoto, Hokuto, I wonder which one would be the best."
"best that we ask Tohdoh-san about it." Senba said before he looks at Kira. "if we wish for our young friend to learn more about the nation he is on, best we ask him instead."
"I see." Asahina said with a nod before looking at Kira who is in the middle of thinking. "what's wrong?"
"no, it's just that if I get out…" Kira thought out loud before he looks to the outside of the hangar which is camouflaged. The young man could see the clear blue sky outside. "I wonder if my friends are out there looking for me as much as I am looking for them."
"friends?" Asahina and Senba spoke out in unison before they looked at one another, both not having ever thought that Kira might have friends when they first met him.
Kira looks to the clear blue sky outside, him having the determination to possibly find his comrades who are somewhere in the world he is currently in.
