Just recently, Riley and Sophia have made it a plan in their household that every Friday night they would hold a special movie night for just the two of them.
"Which movie do you want tonight, Riley?" Sophia always would ask her, having a consistent theme or strands of movies to watch was important for both girls.
Riley, who said nothing— only responded with "Neverland!"
"Ha, well... alright then" her sister laughed, pulling out the tape. Sophia had up and almost forgotten how movies worked as she stared at the tape, eyes wondering curiosity over to the player.
"Um, mom!" Sophia shouted from upstairs.
"Let Riley do it hun" her father grunted, "she's seen us do it plenty of times before" his voice seemed to praise Riley, sensing Sophia's destress; though she didn't mind it one bit.
"Here" Sophia gently paced the tape in Riley's hands. Riley, grasping the tape— opened it up to reveal a... large to medium-sized black videotape. Standing up, she walked over to the tape player and slowly but surely slid it gently inside.
"Okay?" Sophia asked, Riley, did a thumbs up when that satisfying chick entered her ears.
Sitting down next to her sister, the two girls waited a few seconds for the movie to rewind.
"I'm going to make some popcorn," Sophia said, turning to Riley.
"Mmmm..." Riley hummed a Reply.
"Right then..." Sophia got up and walked out of the room. Riley was left alone staring at the screen.
Hopping down the stairs joyously, Sophia informed her parents that she was going to make popcorn.
"Oooo, good idea" her mother replied. "I'll help you," she said, getting up from the couch.
...
Once the popcorn was made, Sophia thanked their mother then took some up to Riley's bedroom that was now apparently her's and Riley's shared living quarters.
"Here," she announced, placing the big, blueish-green bowl between them.
A familiar and yet surprisingly strange but confusing voice sounded "Coming soon to theaters..." they watched as the commercials or 'previews' played, Sophia thought of how this reminded her of going to the movie theater with her folks (she had a vague memory of going to the movies once).
Riley sat happily as the movie began to play... she laughed when Peter Pan came on screen.
Once the movie had concluded, Sophia gathered the trash, took care of the dishes, then put herself and Riley to bed.
However, Riley— newly diagnosed with ADHD was too giggly and hyper to fall asleep.
"I'm not tired..." she protected. "Please, may I stay up" she giggled.
"Now, Riley" Sophia scorned, acting as though she was a parent inside of a sister. Riley, how old are you?" she pressed, with slight concern.
"I'm— I'm—" she giggled in between the answer making it seem as though it was no more than just a mere game to her.
"I'm—" she giggled. "T— tw— twelve.." she giggled in between her words and then nearly died out laughing.
