Young Sheldon: Season 1

Rosalyn Henderson doesn't have to grow up fast and is a regular teen with angst.

S1 E1: Pilot

Rosalyn Henderson's eyes slowly open. She groans while rotating her stiff neck. "So, it wasn't a nightmare." She looked at her family in the car. They were on a long drive to Medford, Texas from Saint Paul, Minnesota.

"Come on now, Lyn. You don't know that Texas won't be a dream." Walter Henderson spoke from the driver's seat. She rolls her eyes as they pass the town sign welcoming them.

"Yeah, you could meet your dream man here." Claudia Henderson giggled.

"Yes, because a woman is nothing without a man." Lyn huffs. Walter cheated with someone from his work. Claudia insisted that he transfer, so they were moving to Texas.

"We have been in the car together for 17 hours. We don't need your attitude." Dustin Henderson rolled his eyes. No one was happy about this move, but they were all dealing with it.

"Oh please, because the first hour of you crying was enjoyable." She scoffs.

"Some of us aren't heartless." He was sad about leaving his friends.

His sister rolled her eyes. "You only knew your friends for four years. You only started hanging out outside of school this year. I have known my friends for eight. Twice as long."

"Impressive math for you." He snips.

"I'm going to beat you." She grabs his jacket making him scream.

"Damn it." Their dad pulled the car to the side. "Enough." He turned to yell at his kids. "Yes, I cheated and because of that, we are moving. If you want to be miserable about it, fine be miserable. You're hurting yourself, not me."

"You don't care about us being hurt. You made that perfectly clear." Lyn opened the car door to get out.

"Hey! Get back in the car!" He drove alongside her.

"Dear, please get in the car. You don't know where the house is." Her mother begged.

"I know the address and it's a small town. I'll figure it out." She looks straightforward as she walks.

"Let's see if you can." He drove off with his wife screaming his name. Lyn looks into Dustin's wide eyes as he stares at her getting smaller from the rear window.

"You're probably hoping I don't," Lyn mutters. She had been a daddy's girl, but that changed a few months ago when a coworker showed up at their house. She walks through the town center. Lyn huffs at the townspeople staring at her walking by. She could hear the whispers wondering who the new face was. In downtown Saint Paul, a stranger walking through town wouldn't have caused this commotion.

She was walking past the high school. A bunch of guys were walking out of the school in athleticwear. They stop as she walks by them. "She heads in my direction." Lyn squeezed her eyes shut and picked up speed. It didn't do much. He ran to catch up with her. "Hey, are you new here? I have never seen you before. I'm Georgie Cooper."

"Yes, I just moved here. Lyn Henderson." She shook his hand.

"Welcome to Texas." The southern twang came through.

"Thanks. How come you came out of High School? Aren't you like in middle school?" She looks at the small boy. His mullet looked to weigh the same as his body.

"No, I'm 14. I'm going to be a freshman in high school. I'm on the football team. That's why I was at school, even though it doesn't start till Monday." A squeaky voice is the first sign of puberty for the boy.

"Don't squeak at me." She rolled her eyes.

"How old are you?" He looked her up and down.

"14." She flips her hair over her shoulder.

Georgie's jaw dropped. Lyn had started puberty in 3rd grade. Going into freshman year with a DD bust, a defined waist, and a plump rear. "Well, I'd rather look younger than older."

"Sure, we'll see who is more popular in high school." She laughs.

"I was going to offer you a tour of the town but I changed my mind." He crossed his arms.

"It's a small town. I know where everything is already and I've only been walking for an hour. If you could so kindly point me in the direction of Grant Ave." She did want to go home. She was planning on making her room her haven. She suspected she would spend most of her time there.

"Oh, you're moving into the house down the street from mine. I can show you." He puffs his chest in pride at being able to lead a lady.

"I thought you didn't want to show me anything." She laughs.

"Do you want to get home or not?" He huffs.

"Lead the way." She waves for him to walk in front of her.

"Thank you, Mr. Cooper, for giving me a ride to school." Lyn smiles at the driver.

"Why are you thanking him? I'm the one that offers it to ya." Georgie complains from the middle seat.

George looked at his son unimpressed before smiling at the newcomer. "You're welcome."

"Thank you, Georgie, for taking me under your wing. It makes going to a new school easier since I have a friend already." She took the offer because it annoyed her dad that a boy had taken notice of her.

"Friend?" He made his face look like he tasted something awful.

"So, where did you move from?" Mr. Cooper asks.

"From Saint Paul, Minnesota." She answers.

Georgie glares at his dad before taking over the conversation. "What is it like there?"

"I'm from downtown, so there are always some events going on. There are sports games, concerts, and new restaurants are opening all the time." She felt sad about all the things she was going to miss.

"We got all that here." Georgie went on to talk about the high school sports teams. George wanted to tell his son to shut up and ask more about her. He needs to teach him how to talk to girls.

"I'm going to miss the snow." She thought of the snowball fights, snowmen, and ice skating.

"It snows here once in a while," George told her while the truck was being parked.

"Thank you again, Mr. Cooper." She got out of the car.

"She is a polite young lady." He nods to his son before getting out.

"To you." Georgie thought of the mouth she had on her when it was just the two of them.

S1 E2: Rockets, Communist, and the Dewey Decimal System

Lyn had made friends with Veronica Duncan. She was a popular bad girl in the school. They were talking to some of the starting line of the football team. Lyn didn't know how Georgie was ever going to be on the first string if these were the guys he was up against. They were all 6-foot walls of muscle. "Hello, Gentlemen and ladies. My name is Sheldon Cooper." A child in a flannel, slacks, bowtie, and dress shoes was staring at the guys. Lyn smiles at the briefcase in his hands. "Did you watch any sports programs over the weekend? Or perhaps did some kissing with girls?" He gestures to Veronica and Lyn. "Oh, Hello Lyn."

When the guy didn't answer him, Lyn put her hands on her knees so she was face to face with him. "Hi Sheldon, You're supposed to be in the fourth grade right? My brother's the same age. He was supposed to skip a few grades too but my mom didn't want him to."

"Really?" He looks intrigued by that.

"Yeah. I'll bring him to your house after school." She felt bad for being mean to Dustin on the road trip. He was having a hard time making friends.

"Sure, but my mom was hoping I'd make a friend at school." He thought it was a nice offer but it didn't solve his problem.

"Oh well, I can sit with you today during lunch." She offers.

"No, that is my alone time but when you come over can you tell her that you did?" He asks.

"Sure." She didn't see why not.

"Thank you." He had a pep in his step as he walked away.

"That kid is odd and adorable." She laughs.

"I thought we had a date after school." Travis reminds her. He was a cute senior with blonde slick back hair.

"We do after your practice." She had time to take Dustin to a play date. He ohs with a large smile, happy to not be forgotten.

"I think it's sweet that you're helping your brother make friends." Veronica was happy to have a friend. Girls avoid her thinking she would steal their boyfriends and crushes. The boys only wanted one thing. Lyn didn't look down on her for living in a trailer park with an alcoholic mother and drug-dealing sister. She never made a sly dig about her revealing outfits or promiscuous behavior.

"I try to be a good big sister." She mentally added most of the time.

Mary Cooper and Lyn were smiling at each other as they listened to the chatter coming from the garage about trains. Georgie and his father came in to see the ladies on the couch. "What the hell are you doing here?" He was bitter about her being in the popular clique.

"Georgie, that is not how you talk to your friend." His mother scolded him. The ride to school became part of their routine. Every morning Lyn would jump into Mr. Cooper's truck.

"I better get Dustin and go. I got a date to get ready for." She stood up and straightened out her skirt.

"Don't worry. We can drop him off." Mrs. Cooper didn't want to interrupt them when they seemed to be having fun.

"Are you sure?" She grabbed her backpack off the floor to put it on.

"Yes, it's only right down the street." She smiles.

"Well, thank you. I'll see you in the morning." She walks towards the door.

"Wait up, Lyn. I'll walk you home." Georgie ran after her. His parents shared an amused look.

"You don't have to Georgie." She didn't want to put him out when he seemed annoyed with her.

"It's fine, you're only right down the street." He walks alongside her. "I don't think you should go out with Travis."

"Why?" She grips her backpack straps.

"Because he was talking about you in the locker room. Calling you an easy city girl." He didn't trust the older teen with his friend.

"Oh… well maybe I am." She shrugged.

"No, you're not." He shook his head. "You just want an older boy to show up at your doorstep and piss off your dad."

"So…" She stopped in front of her house.

"So, you don't need to be putting yourself at risk going out with some jackass. You're more important than pissing him off." He wouldn't be able to sleep if she went out with him.

"I'll call him and cancel." She kissed his cheek. "Thank you, Georgie." She walks into the house. Georgie held his cheek, blushing.

S1 E5: A Solar Calculator, a Game Ball, and a Cheerleader's Bosom

Lyn was dancing at a house party with Veronica when someone tapped her shoulder. "Georgie, you made it." She hugs him.

"Oh, someone is making eyes at me." Veronica left them.

They dance for a while until something catches Lyn's eye. "Georgie, there is a fairy that belongs to you." She points over his shoulder.

"What?" He turned around to see his sister dressed in her Halloween costume dancing. "Ah, what the hell?" They pushed their way through the crowd to get to her. "Missy, what are you doing here?"

"Cutting loose, what are you doing here?" She dances.

"Slowly. Slowly." Sheldon screamed to the people who were putting him down after making him crowd surf.

"You too?" He yelled.

"I heard you got invited. I didn't think you would come." She looks at Sheldon in his flannel pajamas and robe.

"Hello, Georgie, Lyn." He screams over the music.

"You're not supposed to be here." He wasn't amused.

"Neither are you! You're grounded." He counters.

"Oh, he's got you there," Lyn yells in his ear.

"Not now, Lyn. Come on, we're going home right now." He drags them out to Missy's misery and Sheldon's delight.

"Oh too bad, I thought he would make his move tonight." Veronica put her head on her friend's shoulder.

"Maybe after he hit his growth spurt." She pretended like she would have rejected him.

S1 E13: A Sneeze, Detention and Sissy Spacek

"You know Sheldon is so sick." Georgie stops at Lyn's locker.

"I go to your house every day. He is not sick. He's germaphobic." Lyn rolled her eyes. Sheldon had locked himself in the garage because it was flu season.

"Well, he's going through something mentally. It pains me to see him so scared." He put his hand over his heart.

"I'm not going to hug you. You don't want comfort, you want to feel my breasts against your chest." She slammed her locker to lean against it.

"Rosalyn, I didn't realize you had such a dirty mind." He gasps like he was scandalized.

"If you don't have perverted motives then why are you only seeking comfort from strange girls instead of your friends." She raised an eyebrow.

"I'm trying to get some from my friend but she is being rude." He gestured to her. "I suppose there are always strange girls." He turned to walk across the hall to a group of girls.

She grabs the back of his jean jacket to yank him back to her. She threw her arms around his middle. "I knew you would be a good friend." He pushed down on her upper back so her breasts were flat against him.

"Pervert." She whispers when he sighs dreamily in her ear. He ignored her as he sways them side to side.

S1 E18: A Mother, a Child, and a Blue Man's Backside

"I never seen what the inside of a vagina looks like." Lyn turned the Penthouse sideways. "Interesting."

"Give me that." Georgie took the magazine from her.

"What? You can't be bashful when you're hiding your dirty magazines here. I'm going to know every time you're jerking off now." She watched him put them under the floorboard.

"This is only temporary until my mom calms down." He puts the floorboard back in place.

"In her defense, some of those drawings are very detailed." She had looked through a few of Dustin's comics.

"I'm surprised more people aren't into it." He rolled his eyes.

"You haven't seen Black Cat." She grabs his hand to take him to Dustin's room. Their younger brothers were in the garage playing Dungeons and Dragons. They normally played at the Cooper's but Sheldon wanted to be away from his mom. She looked through her brother's bookshelf which was organized by superheroes. "Amazing Spider-Man." She pulled out one that she knew the anti-hero was in. "Look at that cleavage." She showed Georgie.

He let out a low whistle. "That is a tight suit."

"The sexual tension between her and Spiderman is titillating." She wanted Peter Park to choose Felicia over Mary Jane.

"You read comics." He gasps. "You nerd."

"Only Spiderman and Batman and only when Catwoman and Black Cat are in it." She was only interested in the romance aspect.

"What are you doing in your brother's room?" Walter was standing in the doorway with his hands on his hips.

"Showing Georgie a comic." She held it up.

"Well, you don't like Dustin in your room when you're not there, so get out of his." He points his thumb over his shoulder.

"Got it." She rolled her eyes while walking past him with Georgie close on her heels.

"And keep your door open." He barks.

Lyn made a point to slam and lock it. "Jeez Lyn." He didn't want to be here while she was rebelling against her dad.

"He's not going to do anything. He's all hot air." She drops down on her bed and looks up at him. "Lyn?" He swallows the lump in his throat. She was looking at him, throwing her eyelashes, lying down on her bed. Her hair spread out around her. He found his eyes falling to her chest which seemed to be rising and falling at a fast rate. She looked like a dark temptress. He repeated in his head that this was his friend and he couldn't cross her boundaries.

"Georgie." She said in a lower baritone. She was tired of waiting for him to make his move. "You know how I went on that date last Friday."

"Yeah, but he didn't want to take you on a second." He was curious as to why but she didn't want to tell him.

"It was because I panicked when he tried to slip his tongue in my mouth. I never did that before. I was scared I wouldn't be good. I thought maybe we could get good at it together." She propositioned him.

"What?" His jaw dropped. He didn't know what was more shocking that she hadn't French kissed even though she had been on many dates or that she wanted to practice with him.

"Hear me out." She props herself up on her elbows. "Do you want to get dumped because you can't kiss? You can't get good without practice. I feel like we're good friends who find each other attractive. I figured we could practice kissing together. We can tell each other what we like or can improve on without it being embarrassing."

"Are you serious?" He didn't want to go in for a kiss and have her laugh in his face that she was joking.

She grabs him by the collar to pull her down on the bed next to him. She grabs a handful of his hair to pull him into a kiss. "So do you want to?"

"Yeah." He climbs on top of her but she pushes him off.

"Can we kiss sitting up?" She sat up. She didn't want to go too far with him lying on top of her.

"Whatever you're comfortable with." He put his hand on the back of her neck as he leaned in for a kiss. He licks her bottom lip. She opened her mouth. It was clumsy, awkward, and wet. But, she wasn't burning in shame because she knew she was safe. Georgie wouldn't make fun of her or talk about her behind her back.

"Too wet." She pulled away to wipe his saliva off her chin.

"Sorry, guess I'm just excited." He rested a hand on her thigh.

"Any tips for me?" She asks.

"You could move your tongue more." He didn't like it when it was just lying in his mouth. She nods before going in with another kiss but Georgie grabs her arm to stop her. "Here's another tip, stop going out with guys that you're not comfortable being alone with." He hated that she said yes to every guy with a car that asked her. She was putting herself in a vulnerable position. He would stay up worried in his garage waiting for her date's car to drive past his house and drop her off at home.

"Georgie?" She whines.

"I mean it, Lyn. You piss your dad off enough being friends with Veronica and me." He knew her dad didn't trust him. He made it clear by sneering at him every time he saw him.

"My dad likes that I'm friends with Veronica. He thinks as long as I'm around her then the boys will be chasing her and not me." She scoffs.

"What? He said that to you." He couldn't believe a father would be so cruel.

"I overheard my parents arguing about me going to party with her." Her mother thought she was a bad influence. Her dad thought if she had to go through a rebellious phase then doing it alongside the beautiful girl was best because then his daughter would never be chosen.

"Fuck him." Georgie wanted to punch him. "Never mind him. You didn't need to put yourself in danger. Not every guy is going to stop when you want them to."

"Okay, I won't, Georgie." She whispers.

"Good, you've been worrying me sick." He kissed her. She smiles against his lips before opening her mouth to keep practicing.
