Seasons of Wonder: A Wonder Woman Fanfiction Story
Dawn of a Trinity, Part 2:
Donna Troy somewhat nervously asks, "so... What are we doing now?"
Batman thinks out loud, "it's simple. You take care of the missiles aimed at all the big oil refineries. Superman will rescue Wonder Woman with help from her golden lasso. My battlesuit recently had a computer verbal glitch pronouncing Ra's Al. But, I corrected it. So, I'm going after Ra's Al Ghul and his mystery partner with some help from Athena."
At the battlesuit part... Donna Troy looks slightly amused.
Superman looks somewhat nervous.
Batman can't help but ask, "what is it, Superman?"
Superman suggests, "I'll explain soon. But... I don't think you and me should go separate ways. We work better together. And, rescuing Wonder Woman quicker would give us even odds against Ra's Al Ghul and Ares."
Donna Troy and Batman smirk a little.
With mixed feelings... Batman concludes, "I usually would agree. But... Ra's Al Ghul's partner? Heavy sigh. She spells worse trouble: Worse trouble than I hoped to tell you."
On the last part... Donna Troy scoffs.
Donna Troy sarcastically comments, "worse than a evil version of Diana made a Lyla for Chaos? Faint chuckle. Try me."
Batman brings up, "Donna Troy... Have you heard of Lazarus pits?"
Donna Troy admits, "well... No."
Batman deduces, "I'm one of the few humans to analyze them closely and live to tell about them. Moderate sigh. Okay. Before turning on Ra's Al Ghul? I had a invite from him. But, that's beside the point. The Lazarus pits are not random: They're remnants of god battles...and they give mental echoes and powers to anyone else who unfortunately steps or lands in them."
Superman puts together, "my god. You... You mean they drive anyone nuts that isn't a god?"
Batman confirms, "exactly."
They all gulp nervously.
Superman deduces, "hmm. I understand now. I can take care of the missiles the fastest, and you and Donna Troy can go ahead to rescue Wonder Woman."
Batman adds, "that's fair enough." Donna Troy adds, "yeah. I say that works for me too."
The teariness in Superman's and Batman's eyes starts to dry up.
Superman says, "good luck." Donna Troy says, "thanks. And good luck."
Superman and Donna Troy wave goodbye.
Superman flies off to go after the missiles.
Batman uses a remote to get his Batplane over. Even his battlesuit doesn't have all his gadgets.
Superman flies from oil refinery to oil refinery, zapping missiles with his laser vision.
Batman and Donna Troy get into the Batplane. They sit in the front seats of the cockpit.
Batman steers the Batplane for islands in Greece. He's calculated the trajectory of where the mystery figure and Ra's Al Ghul were coming from.
There's a awkward silence in the cockpit.
After a bit... Donna Troy says, "I hope we're not too late to save Diana."
Batman is the midst of admitting, "I do too. I couldn't forgive myself if I..."
Batman heavily sighs.
Donna Troy realizes, "you love her. Don't you?"
Batman mutters, "I don't want to talk about it. Nervous chuckle. But... How do you know?"
With a smile... Donna Troy bittersweetly reflects, "I'm a lot like Diana. I'm her spiritual twin. In fact... I have a lot of different memories of different Dianas in my head. I'll never know which memories were what I grew up with really. But... Moderate sigh. Most of them lead to working well together with you. In some? You two are married."
Batman chuckles a little.
With a smile... Batman realizes, "you really have been through a lot. You're smarter than you seem."
Donna Troy tells him, "thanks. Just... Tell me one thing." Batman adds, "sure Donna."
Donna Troy wonders, "is it easier to remember a childhood you knew you had than to never know for sure?"
They both get teary eyed.
Batman solemnly reflects, "not if you lived in Gotham. My parents...were lost when I was little. Sniffle. Not a day goes by that I don't think about them. I fight crime because I don't want another kid to lose everything...like I almost did."
Donna Troy solemnly deduces, "yeah. Sniffle. I know the feeling...with many different memories. Lyla, also known as the first Harbinger, has been helping me sort out what I can."
Batman reasons, "that's good. Take as long as you need to sort them through."
Donna Troy adds, "thank you." Batman adds, "no problem."
The teariness in both of their eyes starts to dry up.
Around then, on a certain island in Greece...
Bizarro is flying around, carrying a kidnapped Wonder Woman.
Bizarro all too lightly realizes, "ohh. There planet rashy hully man was. Bizarro remember now."
A circle of Ares's followers and big mostly dark brown snakes are gathered around the Lazarus Pit. This circle of Ares's followers is elderly and wearing purple cloaks.
One of them recites, "o mighty Ares... In your name... May the Waters of Battle turn a good life into a demonic one!"
Wonder Woman brings up to Bizarro, "Bizarro... Ra's Al Ghul is not your friend. He's just pretending to be so you'd do mean things for him! This isn't a game!"
With a frown... Bizarro cluelessly insists, "but rashy hully man friend. Lets me go out and play. Promised me I get to see big planets like America and Canada. He also say Mister Lazarus good friend looking for a friend. You go and play with him now, Wonder Woman. Catch, Mister Lazarus!"
Wonder Woman gulps very nervously.
Bizarro is about to throw Wonder Woman into the Lazarus Pit.
But... Just then... The Batplane arrives in the sky.
Over communications... Batman warns to Wonder Woman, "solar warning!"
Wonder Woman closes her eyes.
Bizarro asks, "huh?"
Just then... Batman uses the Batplane to fire a cone of solar-spectrum rays over the Lazarus Pit.
The solar-spectrum rays temporarily blind the group of Ares's followers, their snakes, and Bizarro. They all cry out in confusion.
Around then, high in the sky over Paradise Island...
The mystery woman has changed her mind about the flying octopuses. She's been sending many flying water form panthers after Lyla instead.
Lyla has been destroying the many flying water form panthers with bright red spirit energy blasts.
One of Ra's Al Ghul's helicopters gets hit too. It's crashing down in flames for the waters below.
With her chronokinesis and light manipulation... Lyla sets off the aim of laser fast fire from two helicopters...which is sent harmlessly into the air.
One of the pilots unintentionally crashes his helicopter through a watery form panther.
A roar. A explosion of metal parts, water, and electric sparks.
With her spirit energy duplication power gone... Lyla is starting to physically get exhausted.
A cruelly smiling Ra's Al Ghul and Ubu are sitting in the front seats of one helicopter. The mystery woman is standing at a open side door of the helicopter.
Ra's Al Ghul tells the mystery woman, "now Hippolyta. Use your new powers."
With a twisted smile... The mystery woman says, "okay! This will be fun."
And... She has watery panthers and spider and gas pump hybrid cyborgs appear on Paradise Island.
Meanwhile, on Themiscrya...
Hippolyta is watching the battle through her magic mirror.
With a smile... Hippolyta remarks, "that's no Amazon. Laugh. She looks like that stupid Amazons Attack show if it were a person. I wonder what else is on on the magic mirror."
She changes the channel on her magic TV with her thoughts.
Around then, back on a certain island in Greece...
In the confusion of the solar-spectrum rays... Superman, Batman with protective goggles, Wonder Woman, and Donna Troy use sleeper holds to put to sleep Bizarro and the Ares following elders.
The snakes slither away in fear.
Superman gives Wonder Woman back her golden lasso.
Wonder Woman adds, "thanks." Superman adds, "no problem. You'd do the same for me."
They, Batman, and Donna Troy smile a little.
Wonder Woman and Donna Troy head into the Batplane.
Batman and Superman bring a unconscious Bizarro to a cryogenic chamber in the back of the Batplane. They plan to bring him to a cell in the Fortress of Solitude to keep him out of trouble.
Batman realizes, "Clark... That choice you were implying about Apollo..." Superman explains, "he said I should stop you from making a mistake you'll regret."
Batman just adds, "thank you."
They shake hands.
Kind of uneasily... Wonder Woman asks Batman, "so... About before?"
Donna Troy looks impatiently toward Batman like it's obvious. Batman moderately sighs.
Batman highlights, "we were both right. I...might have overreacted a little. If it wasn't for Bizarro's stupidity? We may not have been here in time to save you from being driven crazy from the Lazarus Pit."
Wonder Woman lightly comments, "well, I'm glad you're a good enough man to admit it."
They shake hands.
Everyone smiles.
Batman firmly figures, "okay. Come on: We've got a island...to get to."
A magic mirror portal opens in the Batplane.
Around then, back by Paradise Island...
One of the spider and gas pump hybrid cyborgs fires thick yet oily webbing by surprise at Lyla. She's falling fast for Paradise Island.
She's struggling to break free of it. But, it's no use.
Over her mystical helmet gem camera... Lyla informs, "Queen Antiope... Hard groan. Get Diana...and Donna bac...k...!"
She falls unconscious on the ground of Paradise Island.
After coming back from the Crisis of Infinite Visions... Lyla told Queen Antiope to change her gem camera's mystical camera feed to only broadcast for emergencies...and to broadcast them to Queen Antiope's own magic mirror.
From her throne room... Queen Antiope firmly tells herself, "I will get them back Lyla. Hold on."
With a hand on the magic mirror... She scrolls quickly through recent images of Ra's Al Ghul...and finds a certain island with the Batplane hovering by it.
With a smirk... She makes a magic mirror portal to the Batplane.
Amazons have their bright red spirit energy blades ready.
Bana-Mighdall Artemis calls out, "for Paradise Island Amazons!"
With their battle cries... Over thirty Amazons including her charge for the mystery woman's forces.
Bana-Mighdall Artemis run slashes her spirit energy blade across and under a gas pump and spider hybrid cyborg.
Shrieks. Several watery panthers are taken out by the gust of motor oil and electric sparks.
Several Amazons follow Bana-Mighdall Artemis's lead.
All the watery panthers are destroyed by gusts of motor oil and electric sparks. Roars and more shrieks.
Meanwhile, in the throne room...
Wonder Woman, Donna Troy, Batman, and Superman walk in through a certain magic mirror.
Just then... Ra's Al Ghul with his silvery blade and the mystery woman appear.
Ra's Al Ghul reveals, "me and Ares were hoping to distract Batman and Superman long enough to drop you into the Lazarus Pit and drive her crazy to bring humanity to its knees. But... Dropping your paradise down and taking over Themiscrya is the perfect catalyst to unleash the Bermuda Triangle's troubled waters upon the world. Magic relics left unattended is a ghastly business."
Wonder Woman, Donna Troy, Batman, Superman, and Antiope heatedly glare at him.
Wonder Woman declares, "you will never take over the Amazon nations!"
With a twisted grin... Ra's Al Ghul implies, "who said I wanted to take over this island? Laugh. Hippolyta? Show our guests out."
The mystery woman is about to send Wonder Woman and her allies away with her goddess powers.
But, then... Superman hurls Antiope's magic mirror into the mystery woman.
The mystery woman vanishes instead of Wonder Woman and her allies.
Donna Troy has her bright red spirit energy blade out.
With a battle cry... She charges for Ra's Al Ghul.
They slash with their blades at each other.
Superman tells Antiope, "I hope you don't mind me borrowing the mirror."
Antiope assures, "that woman is not really my sister Hippolyta. You're good."
They smile to each other.
Superman is then thinking back to his parents and Lois Lane. They've asked him plenty of times over video chat on his thoughts of home, and he kept feeling too nervous to answer much about it.
From the helicopter... Ubu fires several spirit energy silver laced missiles.
Superman with his super hearing senses two of the missiles. He fly charges after them.
Superman mutters to himself, "come on!"
Batman uses his electric charged electromagnetic gloves to propel backwards two missiles.
The helicopter explodes in flames.
Ubu cries out. He is falling for the waters below.
Superman grabs a missile just in time...and hurls it into the other.
Both missiles explode harmlessly away from Paradise Island.
Superman breathes a sigh of relief.
Wonder Woman sees a frustrated certain mystery woman fast walking out of the central tower.
Wonder Woman double checks, "Donna Troy? You sure you...?"
With a slight grin... Donna Troy insists, "yes Diana. I got him. Go!"
Wonder Woman quickly nods. She fast walks outside after the mystery woman.
The gas pump and spider hybrid cyborgs have their spinning bladed side legs up. Amazons are slashing their blades at them.
Donna Troy and Ra's Al Ghul keep slashing their blades at each other.
With a glare... Ra's Al Ghul complains, "how are you on par with me? You are a woman!"
He hard kicks at her.
But... Donna Troy kicks up hard to deflect his leg.
With a grin... Donna Troy remarks, "I don't need to be eighteen to fight you. I've seen too many alternate memories to be pushed around or captured by the likes of you!"
Ra's Al Ghul looks amused. He laughs.
Ra's Al Ghul reasons, "to fight a immortal like you Donna Troy? Laugh. A rare honor and pleasure. Too bad we're on different sides."
Donna Troy laughs.
She leap flip kicks off of him...sending him flying across Paradise Island.
Ra's Al Ghul's silvery blade falls.
He groans hard. He's barely getting back up.
Donna Troy walks after him. She's grinning wide.
She voices, "nope. I'm not your partner. You're going down demon breath."
Interestingly... Ra's Al Ghul is looking wide eyed in shock in a different direction.
He's noticing the gas pump and spider hybrid cyborgs are starting to pull up his submarines from around Themiscrya.
Ra's Al Ghul calls out, "Hippolyta... What the hell are you doing?!"
With a twisted grin... The mystery woman voices, "submarines not as fun. Chuckle. I not remember some things. But... Something off taking orders from you. I in charge: Not you."
Ra's Al Ghul argues, "you crazy *****! ! You wouldn't still be living without me: You'd be stuck in a Lazarus Pit."
The mystery woman laughs hard.
She continues, "stop these stupid circles. I realize I better than a queen: I'm a goddess! Laugh! I made these submarines and spiders: Not you. Laugh. No more circles. My name now...is Circe!"
Circe makes Ra's Al Ghul appear on a furry chair...falling for the waters below.
Ra's Al Ghul angrily declares, "damn you, Ares. This is not over! !"
He crash lands into the waters of the Bermuda Triangle. He starts to swim away.
Wonder Woman somewhat tensely questions, "whose side are you on Circe?!"
Circe uneasily concludes, "I not know: I just want to have fun!"
Circe throws a goddess boulder at Wonder Woman, Superman, and Batman.
They all barely dodge it.
The gas pump and spider hybrid cyborgs and the Amazons look stunned at Circe.
Superman remarks, "hasn't your mother taught you to not throw rocks and sticks at people?"
With a pout... Circe all too lightly murmurs, "but I'm having so much fun."
Wonder Woman takes a deep breath. Superman and most of the other Amazons look nervous.
Wonder Woman addresses Circe, "you know... Devastator Woman used to be careless like you. But, I helped her see it's not always good to throw rocks."
She points toward Circe on the first part.
Circe awkwardly wonders, "what kind of help?"
With a smile... Wonder Woman explains, "well... I helped her be kind of more mature: To be more mindful and careful of who she aims her fun at."
Circe starts to say, "more...mindfu...l..."
She suddenly groans hard...clutching her head.
Wonder Woman asks in concern, "Circe? Circe?! What's wrong?"
In Circe's mind... Flashes run through: Of blurs of a certain goddess in serpent form being destroyed by Aresia's goddess missiles and laser fast fire.
Circe thinks out loud, "goddess of instin...! My anima...ls?! No going in circles. Stupid flashes! Stupid! Make them stop! Make...them stop please! !"
She cries out in mental overload...sending a goddess sonic scream blast out.
Magic mirrors across Paradise Island shatter into pieces. The whole island shakes hard.
Circe is about to instinctively send another sonic scream out.
Wonder Woman quickly hands parts of her golden lasso to Superman and Batman.
With Superman's speed and Batman's medical doctor like precision... They quickly work together with Wonder Woman to cover Circe's mouth with golden rope.
Batman and Bana-Mighdall Artemis give a cautious look toward Circe.
Everyone else looks bittersweetly relieved. Circe looks wide eyed in shock.
Wonder Woman tries to assure, "Circe? We don't want to destroy you. But... You have to listen to me. Your goddess powers unintentionally almost destroyed the whole island and us with it. Now... Take some deep breaths Circe. And, you can then open your mouth. Okay?"
Circe nervously nods. She mumbles some things.
After a bit... She takes some deep breaths.
She's kind of slowly calming down.
Wonder Woman puts a comforting hand on hers.
And... She unties the golden rope around Circe's mouth.
Circe awkwardly says, "thank you... Umm... Who are you? I not remember much before today."
With a smile... Wonder Woman answers, "you can call me Diana. It'll be okay now."
Circe somewhat nervously deduces, "but... I destroyed most of island. Oh, what will I do to...?!"
Then... She smiles wide.
Circe goes, "ohh. I know. Giggle. I'm a goddess of fun. You're good friend. I'll clean up island this time for you, Diana."
And... She uses her goddess powers to fully restore Paradise Island and all the Amazons: Magic mirrors included.
Circe also makes a tied up Ra's Al Ghul and a tied up Ubu appear.
Ra's Al Ghul and Ubu frustratedly cry out.
Everyone laughs at the sight of the two of them tied up.
Batman just says, "even I have to admit that's good work."
Superman admits, "I think we're all good now. Just try to stay out of trouble, Circe."
Circe all too lightly says, "out of some trouble? Giggle. Sure! Can I go out and play with Devastator Woman?"
Bana-Mighdall Artemis, Batman, Superman, and Queen Antiope nervously sigh.
Lyla, Donna Troy, and Wonder Woman chuckle kind of nervously.
Suddenly... Wonder Woman sees Steve standing by her.
Steve somewhat nervously asks, "angel? Can we talk? It's important."
Wonder Woman nods.
She walks with him over to a left unattended practice ground of Paradise Island. There's a United States fighter jet parked there.
Steve explains, "I'm sorry I'm late to the action. But... Moderate sigh. Me and Etta Ranch had to figure out a way to keep your identity secret from Amanda Waller. So... We told Amanda Waller the remote controlled jet was practicing for a upgrade for fighter jets. Etta pulled some strings with a well known company CEO. And... Well, we're not sure what you'll think of Amanda Waller's...new mission plans for you as United States Air Force officer Diana Prince."
Wonder Woman smiles.
She lightly insists, "please Steve. I'm sure I and the rest of the League of Wonder Women faced worse fighting against a god of Chaos."
They both chuckle some at that. They both smile wide.
From high in the sky... The goddess Athena is looking out towards Paradise Island.
With mixed feelings... Athena highlights, "with the destruction and rebirth of the wild... Artemis, by name and choice, has returned in a different light. Heavy sigh. But... Time will tell if she's foe or friend of Wonder Woman, of me, of Apollo, and of the rest of the Astraea Cycle."
In the clouds...
A set of flashes with silhouettes fly by: Of Circe and Devastator Woman running together down a street, explosions around the street...and thought bubbles from both of them that say "goddess play date!"
Another set of flashes with silhouettes fly by: With cheery greetings in thought bubbles, Superman as Clark going in person back to Kansas more often to visit his parents...and Lois Lane there to visit him too.
